neato
even comes with that wristrest u want so bad
it's plastic tho
looks cool
is plastic that bad?
i liked the keychron plastic kinda
not necessarily
there are good plastic keyboards and bad metal keyboards
likewise there are bad plastic keyboards and good metal keyboards
just that metal is usually more premium
fair enough
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006856527883.html
whatever this is
whys this barebones bad for example?

if you're willing to solder you can build this

holy shit lmao
what the fuck am i looking at 😭
a keyboard
it depends, even keychron has shitty keyboards like C series and especially K series, it depends on the damping quality and plastic thickness, type’ish
yes, for REALFORCE
if the keyboard has a silicon pad
what about this one? even has the volume knob
same company as before
it is a keyboard
what does that even mean
a membrane keyboard is also a keyboard, but a questionable one
welp, as mxidnjne said, yeah they’re pretty worn which not everyone may like but with some work the coating can be fixed and keycaps replaced if they’re too scuffed
no? a membrane keyboard can be a perfectly functional input device
i’d be fine though based on the pictures
only the spacebars shine + black ones don't yellow
scuffs though
idk I never really got scammed
and scratches
😐 ok boohoo
i know but it doesnt feel nicee, and your awnser wasnt really telling me much i meant to imply
nice
@modest condor how were your china pro2s in terms of scuffs/scratches?
Which is more important to you?
The switch feel or the overall sound your key presses make?
I used to only like tactile switches, but i've recently transitioned to heavier linear switches... I actually prefer them over scratchy tactiles now.
"Yes." But don't listen to me; I am but a lowly Cherry MX Brown pleb. Even after trying 20+ switch types at LTX2023 I still settled on / come back to my Logitech G710+'s beloved Cherry MX Brown switches.
@crisp patrol looks ok from the cheapest listings
u guys got any tactile recs actually
i like the handfeel of clickies but i dont wanna be That Guy in the discord call
clickiez are too rich for my blood but im considering mute jades one of these days
currently using gateron limbos and theyve been fine
used akko ocean blues previously and they were nice too
cant fuck with heavy tactiles because they'll give me finger pains
Funnily enough, i got into tactiles because varmillo decided to ship me a gateron brown kb instead of the reds i ordered
Topre 55g

honestly i think realforce boards are uggo
hhkb is cute but i like more keys
R3 is ugly i agree
87u is kind of cute but really not a fan of the cable placement
and i cant even use my fancy coiled cable with it
It’s got cable channels wdym
dont got the money for that so i will refrain from jumping into the topre hole for now
Topre is unironically more affordable than mx though
My switch journey mx blue>gat browns> zelios v2>mx ergo clears>holy pandas> hhkb pro2 45g topre> boba u4t> gat yellows> alpacas>gat oil kings 😁
With a few fringe exceptions
topre is great when u dont care about the pretty shit that comes out every other week for mx
Topre is cheaper if you buy it in yodabashi with tax rebate and price match haha
Topre needs frequent lubing tho, when new they are pretty scratchy until you break them in
Aka not a consooomer
No?
i love coomsooming
i hear most people who go topre just never go back after that
why the switch back to mx?
I prefer non silenced topre, those rings make them feel too mushy and keystrokes are shorter...
All topre ive tried are scratchy out of the box, lubing them
definitely helps, but overtime they do break in
Got bored and i made a gmk keyset i cant really use on my hhkb lul
makes sense
also, care to share the set u made?
cute
Gmk black lotus 💜
Right now im just into factory* lubed switches haha l+f on alpacas was too much work 😂
Maybe the new stuff is? 87u was ok
Hmm maybe just my own preference..i started out using a non silenced pro 2 and got used to the full keystrokes, i tested my friend's type s and it felt very mushy to me.
aftermarket spacebars
Oh, you feel they are smooth out of the box?
I bought my pro 2 in 2018. Prolly newer versions came out smoother? Haha
Yes
But everyone ive talked to were underwhelmed with them being a bit scratchy and the bump being weird compared to a typical mx tactile switch
Idk maybe just the ones ive tested, you're lucky if you got one that's smooth out of the box 👍
once you use old topre domes it makes mx feel like cheap garbage
Uhh not really hehe
2008 pro2 says otherwise
I feel like topre hasn't made any strides in the past few years unlike the recent mx switches
I think it’s the contrast with mx smoothness
😐 there's not that much to work on compared to mx
I personally think it’s pretty good but if you compare it to mx then yeah I get it
ye but that adds up to the cost of the kb, doesn’t have to be just spacebar that has wear
Uhh better domes?
I don’t like mx but smoothness is the one thing it can do
carrot domes are all ik
What’s wrong with the domes?
that are "better"
I hate new domes but it comes down to personal preference in the end
they'll get old soon enough
Well i agree if its not broke it doesnt need fixing but they do feel a bit dated and as someone who likes keyboards and enjoy trying out new stuff. Topre hasnt really peaked my interest as of late...
Lmao what
I tried bke des domes and didnt like any of those hehe im looking for something in between 45g and 55g 😅
Topre domes feeling dated while mx pumps out 10 zillion linear recolours every week
i mean, material tweaks isn’t really just recolor if were being correct
Wooooow
all mx has got is different ways to do tactile/clicky, and box stems
It sounds like
Material tweaks + improvement in stem lengths + factory lubing to improve out of the box experience
Slightly more <buzzword> than <stupid name> switch
the only interesting mx clones are shit like the gateron melodics using clickleafs based off of alps clickleafs
Seems like a lot of improvement vs topre hehe but i still like my topres on my hhkb👍
I only like topre on hhkb tho, not on alu plate 😁
Have you seen the plate spring cream clickies
Very interesting
Too bad mx people are lame and don’t care
just copied pro world
they didn't do it first, neither did gateron
lol
toper?
Do you know what a plate spring is
nah
binion
What are plate spring clickies?
🦄
Introducing our new mechanical keyboard switch, featuring a unique "snapple cap" system that produces a satisfying click with every keystroke. This innovative design utilizes a stem that strikes the cap, creating a pop sound that is unlike any other switch on the market. Experience a new level of auditory feedback with
got internal pics?
Remingoat has an article
They should have called it clickies and cream tsk
<stupid name>
I still wouldn't like them tho
The last clickies i tried were aristotle switches that i converted to tactiles 😁
"The" is not a definite article in his name
skimmed it, interesting
why are custom kbs so complicated
they turn complicated when you listen to budget brain rot
just be rich
birthday money burning a hole in your pocket gk61 type shit
Just watch people type fast in youtube
guys what's a hotswap all aluminum gasket Mount 75% with brass weight, HE, thocky switches build for 50 euros?
your friend's wooting
I don't have a friend
not anymore once you steal their keyboard
but its also crazy that 100-150 is like the very bottom for customs when i thought its alot for a keyboard 😭
that's the very bottom for flagship gaming brands at fucking Walmart too
you people act like 150 is a house payment
it's pretty crazy how there's also like $300 gaming keyboards that are worse
exactly
maybe bro's like 15
no disposable income
custom keyboards are a luxury hobby that requires monetary investment
I bought my realforce when I was 16 bruh
i just want to spend it on other things that affect my experience more like monitor/pc
then use whatever oem membrane keyboard you have lying around
I bought a model m at a yard sale for 2$ in the box in like 2005
begged my grandma for that 2$
obv at least want a decent one when im coming from a v6
lateral?
keyboards are an expensive hobby
nobody's saying that shit is cheap
just that some things are relatively cheap within the space
100-150 is either another v6 /similar or a cheap customs, but a cheap custom is probably a bad choice considering the price im at
it's a lateral move
qk is fine aint it
i dont know what lateral is still man 😭
spyder!
not better not worse im guessing
yes
a sidegrade...
ah okay
Since more people are active, would it be fine I ask yall opinions on a possible custom build from a message I sent last night or something?
I didn't read it
yea unfortunately i do have to get another one even though i did like the v6
I would assume that is within the rules anyway
nobody remembers
bro just post it
you dont need permission to say things
fr
This
epomaker
but it's probably fine, it's a keyboard
the r/budgetkeebs special
I know basically nothing about customer keyboards, so I wanna make sure it’s decent for the price
im guessing for 150 i wouldnt be able to get the same quality as a v6 right?
it is a keyboard
it will function as an input device
what is a v6
It is going for around an $100 price range, so it’s not gonna be anything super special
Do you think I could do better for some parts?
at a 100usd budget for everything, not really no
no qmk/via either but thats just how it goes
sorry, keychron v6 (keyboard)
idk what that is
want a Link?
I'll google it
Ahh ok, so it’s not special in terms of custom keyboards (which makes sense, because it’s more budget oriented), but it’s still a decent value?
Oo its discounted rn even, cool
it's fullsize, that's cool
yea wanted fullsize due to blender etc. but im willing to get a numblock seperately if its very worth it
and i love audio knobs
Fc980c
Ebayyy
like 300€ for whatever reason
welp
whats yalls favourite switches?
anything light tactile and silent
soo something like mx browns/silvers/reds?
idk
Probably skcm green
wish it had a 2u numpad 0
1u 0 is so uggo
That’s just how it is 🤷
indeed
I found this razer keyboard, got the style I want, controllable rgb lighting, but the price is ridiculous!
TKL
Razer hudsman
I believe every board in ur price range will have rgb ( except u choose non rgb version)
I also found a logitech one
Much cheaper
But...
Also adding another app to my pc to slowly it down a lot
yeah, i can’t coprehend what makes a keyboard software consume 250mb of your ram
so bloatey
like in comparision the chinese junk takes around 40mb
and it works
what’s the rest for
40mb of
stealing ur data
40mb for a keyboard wtf
yeah…
yeah, even that’s quite a bit for just a peripheral
armoury crate lmao
sticking to qmk/via
Chinese junk takes less memory to steal your data is what I'm hearing lol
zmk/studio
i mean everything does nowadays, aslong they don’t keylog my passwords idc
hmm
if u dont want ur data to be stolen
acceptance
yeah by connecting to the Internet you're consenting to data collection
no way around it
or a slab of rock
ideally one that’s 1x1m and made from 8 wooden planks

yes you should be lovin’ big corporates stealing your data without actual consent. that’s how it should be
wdym stealing ? we are personalizing ur experience
we can do that with ur health insurance id and such
we are making your experience better by storing your credit card on our servers
which are ddos'd every year
shrug whatever gets you going girl
Use temple os, true security
(Although this is getting outside of the realm of keyboards it seems)
Exactly why realforce is better
Is real force a meme or something within the community?
I’m not sure if it’s a meme or if it’s a genuine thing anymore
He just being him
A realforce lover
Was he the one that suggested I get a real force keyboard yesterday?
I forget
I think he was
Well, I was gonna send something
Skip the real force and custom keyboards, this is the true end goal
(The first time had an image that wasn’t png or jpg apparently)
That is every gamer's dream keyboard
It’s super thin and lightweight too
K real talk though: we probably have 300-400 of these keyboards deployed in production across all our offices. They're not great compared to mechnical keyboards, but they're miles better than many membrane keyboards I've used in the last 20 years.
I imagine they are decent for most people
I mean i don’t think the average person really cares too much about their keyboard
I’m interested in trying a fairly decent keyboard for sure, although i think most people just want something to work, so I feel like those cheaper membrane keyboards are probably fine at that
They are decent, Normal keyboards, nothing wrong with them
if u want an input device u can get em for free (your friend's old membrane keyboard)
Gaming keyboards are definitely better for gamers though obviously
any keyboard is a gaming keyboard
I imagine you can probably get them for basically nothing several places
True
Most keyboards I have had are like under $40, and definitely not for those who really care, so I’m really interested to see what it would be like to use a pretty nice keyboard
I probably won’t hit the “really nice” level for while, if at all, although i think even the “pretty nice” level would be a good point to stay, just maybe a bit more basic since they are more budget focused typically
I guess I'm an expensive guy
Or whatever the different levels of keyboards would be for keyboard people
I’m not too sure about spending a ton on a keyboard just yet
I need to see how interested I really am in keyboards
Maybe I will turn into a real big keyboard person, who knows
I'm already looking at expensive razer keyboards
razer
I might have to get the stuff for a custom keyboards once I get my watch back, I feel like I might get a bit more value with that than a prebuilt
And I don’t think it’s really a hard process as well
Or it doesn’t seem like it anyway
I got my reasons, you got yours, I could get custom but razer has the style, sound, and controllable rgb I want
Also some nice switches
I’m in no position to shame someone for their choice
Agreed
I mean the build I will probably do is probably a really basic build
Although a lot of that is probably due to like not being sure which switches and stuff are good, and which ones are bad
Yes
I mean I know nothing about the keyboard scene besides very basic knowledge, so my choices are probably going really safe
Cherry, tactile is nice, clicky is my fav, and linear...not sure
I think the ones I picked are Akko yellow cream v3 pros (or some order like that)
Linear is silent pretty sure
Which apparently are decent, although probably basic
I’m thinking with switches, I can try different ones and different kinds over time
And see what I really prefer for switches
I think using one kind for a while before trying another kind would probably be better, since I imagine the cost would be dispersed over a longer period, and you get more time with each switch to really know what they are like
(Maybe I’m wrong about that tho, it would just make sense to me)
Well, you get used to each switch
Then the other switch will feel different
And then you want to go back to the other one
just put a different switch under every key then

i didnt think it'd really happen
OMG... I LOVE the Alice
the back engraving is very nice
Are they all gone?
mechland hasnt open gb yet
it seems other vendors may have
Ohh.. it said it was going to open in Oct
[IC]Kyūbi Keyboard Kit / Stock Sales Start and GB later
non isolinear split keebs are so rare
????
arent most alice style non-isolinear
I'm thinking of the market as a whole
its a scam
mechland is legit as a vendor tho
they had a first GB and supposed to ship half a year ago
people in china still have not received their product
bruh
they are now hosting a 2nd gb to make money to refund the people from 1st gb iirc
damn ok nvm lol
My razor keyboard broke during my move does anyone have any mechanical keyboard recommendations
whats your budget, what layout are you looking for
I want something smaller I mainly play rust, but I’ve never shopped for a keyboard before so I don’t really know
And I’m willing to spend a few hundred
i dont care what game you play any keybord will work for that
what layout do you want
metal or plastic
Oh that doesn’t matter I would be happy with either or I’m not picky
My bad haha I’ll do plastic
thats material
do you know what a keyboard layout is
No I have no idea
You should buy a realforce
https://www.keyboard.university/100-courses/keyboard-sizes-layouts-gdeby
read
or yeah go topre meme
I really like the 75% keyboards
Is that layout?
I want the function keys, and arrow keys, but I want it smaller and more tight together not like the bigger keyboards where everything is spaced out
3
LZ CLSm is a good compact 75%
not personally
price?
I dont
Get a neo 75cu or pt1.75 and call it a day

the topography or whatever isnt available as an international variant apparently
they are availible here
75 bucks
whats the difference between the chinese or whatever variant that is
and the international one
based on the old m1's and m1w all i know is difference qc
qc?
quality control
still dont understand what that is
is a local vendor
Do you know what export means

nvm I cant read anything
was gonna check the delivery charge to Bangladesh
would do anything for a free headset from akko
depending on the context
😂
I think I do
delivery charge will be $300 itself
like how I was going to order a cat tower for my cat from aliexpress
and saw that the delivery charge starts from $630
The company is chinese
and itll still take a month to arrive
well yes
What other context are you talking about
no like
thought you asked me the general meaning of export
but anywho
is the chinese variant better?
Did you read what I said
since the company is chinese
yes but it went over my head
Ok read it again and process what it means
benefits of sharing the border with china
yes
all their sketchy boards are directly imported here and pretty "cheap"
bro had to specify sketchy
export units are better
does that mean the boards that are exported from China are better than the international ones?
since those boards are directly shipped from Monsgeek in china?
no ???
it is depends on a lot of elements
🤦
can you simplify what you said 😭
the buyers?
monsgeek is just another option beside 10 or 12 more models
at this price range which are made of alu and prebuilt
most of them dont have a knob
you should tell that to the shop that imports kbs to Bangladesh 💀
wooting's 60HE costs around $200 on their website but
the only shop that imports the keyboards themelves legally in bangladesh
So what does this mean
says itll be $300+
uh
theyre internationally sold as international variants?
Nvm
yes im dumb
the only difference about chinese and international variants that I know are
the xiaomi or any phones really
Buy Keyboard at the best price in Bangladesh. Discover a wide range of Keyboards including RAZER, GAMDIAS, Logitech keyboards at best price in BD. Shop online or visit your nearest Star Tech branch.
chinese ones are only sold in china for chinese people
just stick to these havit whatever membrane and u will be fine
they dont import it
need a long term kb since my current one is on its last legs
nono the reason as to why I was asking about the difference is because of the keycaps
and difference in prices
the video of the m1 v5 I sent earlier had the topography keycaps which I havent seen a m1 v5 come with
asked the shop and they said its not the international one
the international variant only comes with WOB keycaps and is around 14k BDT ($135)
this is the one I pre-ordered a few days ago
What if I wanted to buy a complete 75% keyboard and not build one what would yall recommend then?
budget
If I think about it I don’t really want to spend more than $250 on a keyboard
a keychron is probably fine
yall isnt this an international variant
It is for euro region
Is the ducky one 3 mini a good choice for a keyboard in 2024? Looking at getting one with silent red switches for about £100 but if there's better options for the price then I might reconsider
Mainly just care about having one that's quiet and 60/65%
damn
no sorry it isn’t at all
some aluminum keyboard of your choice is going to be better
ducky script goes hard for a macro pad
Struggling to settle on any tbh
Hhkb
yall I messed up. Im romanian and this company called cel.ro haven't returned our money for a purchase we made but they did add it as a credit on the webite And I might as well spend it cuz I do not like the website. I wanna buy a new gaming keyboard for valorant, r6, mostly first person shooters. And If It wouldn't be that much hastle could yall go on the website and recommend me some keyboards from there?
I currently use a hyperX alloy pro which I bought a couple of years ago
60-70 dollars both
any top notch pbt keycap recommendations
so what keyboards for that price do you recommend???
Realforce pbt keycaps
pbtfans, epbt, osume
milkyway
Hi. Can someone recommend a keyboard. I am a gamer/programmer and I need a good 100% keyboard with a Portuguese layout? I am just done with my choices. My keyboards only last a little more than 2 years. My last purchase was the Logitech G512, it has the led's all mess up. And 5 keys stopped working
Keyboards such as womier sk75 off aliexpress for $90 if you can afford that
or hi75 from taobao for $40 and build the kb yourself
but hi75 doesn't have qmk/via so
Btw you can buy portuguese keycaps and slap it pretty much on any mx style keyboard
You want ansi or iso?
Yeah, they're harder to find cheap but not impossible
but yeah you will probably not find those that go for cheap nice
Portuguese is by default ISO
Any thoughts on the Razer blackwidow v3 tkl?
It works as a keyboard
So, is it worth it?
No
Ok
ty
is too expensive for me, aren't any options similar to the womier for a better price??
sk71 ~ $70 but that’s not a 75% if you’re looking for that
no via/qmk as well
whats that
probably the best firmware/software you can have for a kb
apart from the firmware or software, it is very good right??
well, if you’re not going to use what’s flashed on the chip yes.
okok tyu
at your budget i’d just look for cnc aluminum keyboard
I've been tasked with finding a good keyboard under or around $50 for a family member, any suggestions?
Preferences are wired, tactile switches, and full size
I've been thinking keychron or lemokey
All you know about keyboard is just some crappy models from Chinese manufacturers?
i really just focus on low end/value boards
when you say value we know what you mean 😭
just ordered a batch of pcbs and cases
very nervous if it works
need switches still too aaa
and caps fug
old keybort
Does it thocc
20$ since it is too outdated
whens the sound test
when i get the cf plate
Need suggestions for a keyboard, hard click clacky. Creamy makes me wanna barf.
Sub 300 plz
If possible, with individually colorable keys
Realforce
enjoy a small keeb
love it!
and some brass booty
Having a really hard time giving up my logi g710+. What do people recommend in the ~$80-120 range for early gen cherry brown enjoyers in late 2024?
filco with mx brown
buy mx browns switch invidually and buy a kit
nice
Looking for a keyboard. Mechanical but not too loud. Tenkeyless would be best but full size is fine. Sub $150.
filco
its called vixen, ran in a group buy some time ago
fore sure the heftiest piece of brass ive seen on a 40

@patent belfry have you experienced lead and uranium keyboard?
????
ill stick to my newest daily keyboard thank you
Can't experience true endgame synergy without uranium and lead
not sure if youre looking for a reaction or whatever, but im not into it.
go play in traffic
Bros too mad about the lead uranium synergy 😭
ok
it's almost funny
Unironically that would be a cool keyboard idea
Cause the lead would shield you pretty well and the harmful radiation reaching you would be next to 0, especially through skin
And both materials would be super dense
nah
deadly at the same time, im not that deep into the rabbit hole to risk my life for a keyboard
Depends on the isotope but especially behind lead it shouldnt be that risky
and the cost...
Quick question, is there a difference between a regular custom keyboard and gaming custom keyboard? Or is it more marketing? (Maybe this can be expanded to all keyboards in general, but custom keyboards are probably gonna be a lot better quality 9 times out of 10 than most keyboards you can find)
I’m not sure if there is really a difference other then marketing or something
I know a lot of the time, “gaming” stuff is more just marketing, like gaming chairs for example (I don’t think they provide a lot better of an experience or anything for gaming)
Idk if this is the right place to ask about mice but I guess I will get my keyboard advice here. so i am looking for a keyboard and mouse combo to fix my terrible ones i have now I have a budget of around 200$ and for the mouse i way looking at the Lamzu Maya X and for the keyboard i was looking at these 2 does anyone have any opinions

You should know that any keyboards will and can play games.
Moreover, people who used custom keyboards are foucsed on the keyboard aesthetics, the type feeling and the sound they gave out, which are not related to you having a better game performance or whatsoever.
It is true that custom keyboards are better ( a subjective word) in terms of the case quality and etc whilist a gaming keyboards price are made up mostly from their brand
If u really want a keyboard that make u better at the game, recent days keyboard makers are developing rapid trigger and hall effect technology keyboards vary in many price range. But however, those who will benefit from these technology are usually pros in that kind of game, casual players are less likely to benefit from this ( is like compare a 360hz monitor to a 500/1000 hz monitor, casual players cant find differences )
So if u want to focus on ur game performance u can get a gaming keyboards, especially HE keyboards, and if anything else, custom keyboards is a good choice
On god i indeed have too much freetime today 💀
having a fancy he keyboard wont make u better at gayme
Is the yunzii YZ75 good?

realforce from japan
So i guess the difference doesn’t affect the majority of people then?
I guess that’s better than a real force from America? lol
it's not as easy to find a cheap realforce on ebay
Unless you spend a ton of money on it (which I probably won’t for a while, because I don’t the point just yet, although maybe I will at some point)
no
maybe
just dont be poor
Anyone got an opinion on these
💀💀
Don’t be poor and buy realforce
Because realforce is the superior keyboard brand
that's what was said, yes
I don't think I said realforce though.
was it implied
no
why spend money on a keyboard twice
just splurge once and then not have to replace it
Anyone got a 100$ keyboard recommendation
Mushforce bad
fakeforce
faux mass x acceleration
I’m looking for what style of key caps would go great for the Asus azoth north facing rgb keyboard
prefered size?
75% or 80%
I was looking at these 2

Honest question, how much could I sell my JRIS75 set for on the market without (with Gateron Ink V2 red switches but no keycaps)? Pretty sure the market is pretty cheap rn so I guess not much but I need to know
Well which one
whichever you like more
Alright thanks
under retail
the tkl looks like a better value
I know that but how much under like is 150 fine for example?
idk list for 50 under retail on mechmarket
see what happens
or price check compare to other people selling
and undercut a few bucks
alright ill check thx
Sup lads
I'm looking for a low profile keyboard for work
I really like how the Nuphy 75 V2 looks but I saw some reviews of people not having a good time long term
What you guys recommend?
Realforce
Not realforce
Fake force
Real?
Force.
What is a budget keyboard that is really good
Realforce
600 bucks budget will get u a f1-722

a competitor with rainy and nd
there is barely any difference between them
better than rainy, and for me coating looks slightly better than nd
but then bridge75 top spec is prob better than nd75
Quick question, would I need to get a switch puller?
Keycaps come with a keycap puller, but idk if a switch puller is necessary
most hotswap boards come with a switch puller
if you want to change a hotswap switch a puller is needed
Is there any keyboard with a similar design to this one (just the frame) but Hall-Effect and ISO compatible?
keychron k2he or q1he
Someone said something about them being flex cut and they said most people don’t like it but what is the difference of flex vs non flex
So it is pretty good
flex stands for their flexibility
i think u should understand nơ
So how much they move side to side?
very unlikely
pcb can flex a lot before snapping
still it is a risk
and their sound profile are pretty slim
the pcb would touch the bottom of the case before breaking
and plate would break before pcb breaks
maybe beside pc and pp
and not much difference in terms of sound, just mainly how it feels
not a huge fan of flex cut on pcb tho, too flexy
flex cut on plate is enough
with no foam , flex cuts 100% fuck with the sound.
but if ur stuffing it with foam , i doubt u care
They will inherently damp bottom out
with the plate there, it rly isnt that big of a difference
especially with deeper switches
but then its another story with big flex cuts on both plate and pcb
but still not that noticible
no need to worry about flex with realforce
Anything more finished looking? Keychron just looks like a block of metal
ionno
gotta worry about flexing too much
Ahh ok, so assuming my board doesn’t come with one already (not the most sure about either outcome), I would need to get one?
I asked someone else and they said the board (I was recommended the galaxy 80, im gonna probably get the wired one, idk if that’s the best board for the price tho) doesn’t come with one, although images seem to show one
I imagine it’s a fairly common and not super unique, but I’m not looking to spend more than about $100 preferably
some vendors ship one with their boards
what board were you gertting?
NVM
Based on the images I see, it comes with a combination keycap and switch puller, but I don't really like using those.
They do work though.
nice cheap option would be an IC puller, thugh sometimes their teeth are a bit too big to manuever around certain cases. This can be fixed by sanding/dremeling down the teeth.
looks like this
Honestly I’m not expecting to be changing the switches for a bit
I have Akko v3 yellow cream pros switch wise as the ones I’m probably gonna get, although i wanna get used to those before I try something else
Unless I also get like a small amount to tactile and clicky, and like a small test board or something
Because I haven’t really tried many mechanical keyboards before (maybe typing a small amount on a couple for various reasons), although not for that long, so I have no idea what I prefer and don’t prefer
so many thocky keyboards in the chat today
My keyboard keeps disconecting at random times so i have to unplug it and plug it back in so it works again, how do i fix this?
waow
I have the space bar, with metal thing, but the plastic on the keyboard itself is broken. A key is missing, but I can probably just replace it with another key I dont use
Also, I already own the version without the built-in USB hub...I think I have a problem
key boarb
I paid 9.50 for that one
called costar stabilizers
you can prob find replacements
i want to make a mouse :c
I'm pretty sure it's part of the shell mold...
ok, im looking at it and it might be a part I can buy for about 20 dollars for 4 of them
are they mostly all the same size?
If I get the kit for one of those stupid half-keyboards, I save 2 dollars
Send me some Super Blacks
mx blue is fite
fire
one of the few clicky that I dont hate
Ew
what 75% or bigger keyboard should i get at 70$ usd
Any rapid trigger keyboards cheaper than wooting 60he?
So I built myself a trans pride keeb
Zoom98, Heimu and Neapolitan switches, Glorious ABS doubleshot keycaps and electrical tape mod
Why??
realforce is better
Realistically you shouldn’t be looking at custom builds on a budget that tight no offense. Save your money until it is within the budget and you have 120-200 for a board
wired = best
noted
Mad68
isnt that like really really BAD quality
yes
currently the best one for the price is the sayodevice pcb but its only on taobao
the nuphy ones are decent
drunkdeer is decent afaik
ill just save for wooting ig
Which one is then the best option?
but you have to sacrafice sound, feel and typing experience
Like i live in the netherlands and everywhere is 30/50 shipping but wooting
its just the counter strafing for me
isnt it banned
i’m not willing to spend that much on a keyboard… atleast not yet lol, i was thinking tho spending an extra like 15 for the bridge 75
some games
also iirc there is a via or qmk fork for it
but im rn looking at polar 65
lubed and rt and stuff
isnt that a realllyyy good option for 140 total for me
rt?
rapid trigge
oh lol
polar is a decent he board if you rly want that
jokes aside, it is kind of a pain to make a decent cable without just buying one premade
but like this is really good isnt it
depends what you mean by really good
all you really can do is bare braided wire or see if you get lucky with aliexpress cables
on paper yes but you wont notice the difference tbh
it has the options i want. It has rapid trigger and 0.01 and stuff. and its lubed and sounds good
for 140
well ill prob be using a usb c cable
cause rn im using a gmmk kb like a v1 and stuff
I can say that all he boards would sound worse than a v1
premade shouldn't be too bad, provided you're doing 1khz polling max
if you want to go for he, just disregard how it sounds
ye
bro this kb is REALLY bad

skill issue
it still has samsung usb typpe shi
keychron v1 is decent
looking at this pretty chip
tha shi badddd
gmmk is garbage
mhm
closed sauce
yea
😔
i wanna make something
is it better to have top usb or bottom usb and curl the cable
I could but rn I have like no time to do it
just wherever it ends up being tbh
as long as you have a pressure relief it should be fine either way
something to make it where if the cable gets tugged, it doesn't just get ripped off
o
sounds like skill issue
just dont tug that
tbh i just dunno how to
is that a case thing or a pcb thing
case technically
where the cable comes out there's usually a rubber piece that holds it
on production mice that is
you can use a different solution
or just no solution at all
but if it's soldered and it gets ripped off it'd suck
Realforce
Heaven
these comments go crazy
I'm looking for a keyboard for school and games.
I will be using it for long typing sessions and frequent gaming. Here are a list of things I need in the keyboard from most to least priority. I am buying in India, preferably amazon.in
8000 INR budget (~95 USD)
TKL or more (no 60%)
Comfortable typing
Wireless
Low latency ( even though this is below wireless, hopefully there is a keyboard which doesn't have too much latency )
Bluetooth over 2.4ghz dongle
Not too much but some level of tactile feedback
FYI am currently using a Zebronics Transformer mouse and keyboard combo so basically anything is an upgrade for me.
Any suggestions help. Thanks 😊
More expensive = better works most of the time
If u ask for smth cheaper and having the same quality as a wooting why would ppl buy wooting lol
ploopy mouse sadge
lotta switches
i just couldnt be bothered to design a case
also, the parts are all hand solderable
in case you wanna get ur hands a lil dirty
true, it is pretty annoying
especially if you don't have a 3d printer
ploopy is a loser
and his headphones are shite
dude said his headphone was good because he put alot of effort into it
noted, ill print the shell myself then
Pull an apple and put the charger on the bottom
I have the mouse, never use it tho
I don’t care what you guys do with his stuff lol
I just wanted to point out the dude is a loser and his headphone is not good
we gathered that
can't say I'm not surprised
lol ever used it at all?
any basic impressions?
I used to, it was meh. switched to Pulsar xlite v3 es. it just felt like a 3dprinted product nothing special, didn't play around with the programming part much
good enough
i mostly making sure its not literally pain molded despite the appearance
im not spending 100 cad just to chop some parts off
and not use the pcb lul
Which razer keyboard should I get with 170 usd budget?
None. Razer has no clue what lubing is. They all scratch like hell
???
Dude you could get so many better keyboard than a razer with that budget. I recommend the Womier sk75, it's 110 USD. And it's absolutely PHENOMENAL
pro2 with cip pcb
you can get the sk75 rn for $90
from aliexpress
ofc you can buy them from retailers but they charge slightly more
If you are going to buy a keyboard for over $100, buy something good like a Lemokey P1. Don't waste your money on gamer crap.
Realforce is better
why it cost 74 usd in my country great deal?
fuck razer boards
get yourself an evo 80
its actualy insanely good for the price
like better than my corsair k70 by like 10x
Should I spend money on custom keycaps since I got a great deal for the keyboard?
I also dont know where to buy custom keycaps
Please note: Two shipping methods are available for the Evo80—sea freight (30–35 days after we send out the package) and DHL Air Shipping (7–10 days after we send out the package). Expand the shipping method menu on the checkout page to select your preferred option. Sea freight option is only available for non-remote a
u still have a cent left for donation
it had qmk, but (back then) qmk SUCKED for mice
since it is capped to 127 positive/negative counts per poll
that is issues that mice had like 20 years ago
Guess what i found on the loose space bar that came on my 3 dollar keyboard
One of the costar things
Oh well. It'll be nice having spares
my PCB doesn't run qmk i mean
ah
yea idk 3d printed shells kinda suck still
at least FDM and resin ones
MJF/SLS is alright
is injection molding hard?
how badly?
personally they irritate me a lot
and making a good click mechanism is kinda impossible
☹️
immensley so
something this complex is not doable at home
and a tooling to do so is 5 figures easily
there is a reason why people like piranha or rollingsloth use facfox for their SLS services now
and people like cryo or zoro mainly do baseplates now
god awful print unfortunately
printed the wrong way and I didn't feel like getting it redone atm
atleast it’s grippy
small d energy
small G energy
Once you have a mold it's easy and cheap but that initial cost is gonna be a lot
Usually makes more sense for mass production products
^ this is downplaying injection molding so much. I would not listen to that.
downplaying in which way? (is sleepy confused)
also trying out colemak mod dh with angle mod on my keyboard
moral of the story it is not easy

Good news! The costar thingy that was attached to the spacebar seems to be broken. So I still need the parts I ordered...
buy a real mouse
this is a real mouse
slap or pass
Hard pass
Why tf are there empty keys next to the enter and shift, hell, why make it so that I have to really reach blindly with my pinky just to press enter, this thing feels like it's made to only be usable by looking down
Why the combo Ortho and stagger
i now discover this channel, didn't know this existed
Why not make mold out of copper? Crappy CNC can still mill it fine
brass case
