I found some weird Chinese brands like Furycube or attack shark, but a lot of noise complaints and faulty switches
not really the best for general purpose is it
IBM makes some really good Asics that for their uses smoke and and Intel in the server market
which is what people use amd and intel for
Outside of those uses they're useless
Shark attack I know from making budget mice
hence, technicality
you're just in denial
take a break and go touch some grass
learn some common sense
Which isn't a distinction you made...
I'm trying to help you get why broader claims than you can reasonably make are stupid
sorry for assuming your intelligience 🤷
Because there are narrower applications and niche products always that you aren't considering
those 2 brands should be fine
pretty well known brand here in china
and mechanical switgches dont rly break that easily, mostly pcb issues which you can prob get replacement for
(warranty I mean)
I usually recommend he560v4 as a cheap sub $200 headphone because it's the best "generalist" headphone in that price, but I always add in that caveat and ask if people have a more specific use in mind for example
Because 6xx for example does vocals better
And deva does gaming better
As other examples
To be clear cause I know this is the point that pisses people off the most and that I know most people here aren't reading into. Me saying not to "not recommend" rk because a couple expected failures isn't me saying to recommend them either.
Any thoughts on dark project? Design is pretty nice, but price... Oof.
never heard of them and looks very basic
It's me making it clear that people in this hobby need to focus more on objective reasons when making recs and less on false or at best misled reasonings when recommending or hating a product
Could you link it
snandard tray mount, floating key design
prob better off with a keychron
@still quarry you'd probably find this interesting. I'm upgrading all my hand lubed CJ switches to durock pom pianos in hand lubing and the difference is massive
Especially on larger keys
It makes sense
I've used both switches and pom pianos were much nicer
Lubed they're insanely deep
Yep
And they feel so smooth and linear to press while having no wobble
I wouldn't pay over 30 bucks for one of those
Outumu black switches are personally one of my favorite switches
WHY
WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT
Do what
deserved
Most other switches I noticed have a bit of a point at the beginning of the press where you can kinda tell they're lighter but the pom piano feels the same through every point
otemu black is the single worst switch I have used
You might like longer springs
Yep, sounds awful even on video
its even more scratchy than non vintage, non HG mx blacks from 2000s after lubing
See if you can find this tbh
It mounts with something called gasket mount, which makes the typing experience more trampoline-y
Found, 40$, nice
If you can't find anything nicer it seems to be decent
But switch names a weird, don't think i can found sound test
Hayan and avocado, bruh
It probably won't sound good
You're paying for the layout
https://youtu.be/5n51CuI5nbw I found this test but the mic sounds really fucked up

see if jamesdonkey rs2 is available for a decent price
in some places they are pretty expensive but some places its cheap
Yeah new keyboard brands do that now
Today I'm sound testing stock Ajazz Mechanical Switches.
Keyboard Used: Monsgeek M1
Plate: Poly Carbonate
Body: Aluminum Metal
Keycaps: Akko Neon MDA Profile
Mods Done: Tape Mod, Foam Mod, Force break Mod
#mechanicalkeyboard #ajazz #swich #monsgeek #m1
The Hyacinth switches come with the keyboard originally when purchased. They make a nice and higher tone creamy sound than I would like.
In the end I replaced them with Jade Blossom 53g Linear switches from Epomaker. Those gave a deeper, thocker sound and still very dreamy, on this particular keyboard anyway.
Hyacinth sound nice tho
That doesn't help at all tbh
It's a completely different keyboard
I trust them over aula
eh I suspect that they have the same oem manufacturer
Maybe but ajazz cost less at least
week 3 of waiting for BIOCC to not argue to themselves
Only downside- English only, stickers will look horrible
you can get keycaps easily on aliexpress
Ajass ak980
hello thockers

Hope you enjoy it

2001like I said, pay me 3 months r&d and i probably will
do you have internal failure rate data on them and other companies?
u do realize this is a album right? not a single picture https://imgur.com/a/royal-kludge-is-good-brand-you-should-buy-keyboards-x7LTFwp
if not then youre just making a false claim that requires data you dont have
just bioc things
in other words "source, it came to me in a dream""
we aren't doing all that for some shitty rk board
wow this looks so much like a diode
sounds like 99% of the stuff u say!
@crisp patrol @modest condor @still quarry we should invite biocc
use common sense and don't be a nonce
thats a battery
happens from time to time when lithium ions are used
its an li thing
not an rk thing
excessive amounts of complaints regarding the pcb specifically
normal
except given saild volume its not excessive
it seems pretty expected
my chinesium
unless every other company in the industry has a 0% failure rate a popular product having a few failures is expected
this is just like tesla driver copium
again, im not recommending the board but for a valid reason
im just saying your reason is a big claim that requires more info than all of you have and seemingly isnt valid off expected failures
Wait what was your reason again
not enough copper foil
not knowing how it sounds or feels
a real blast of an experience
considering on amazon alone they have 14k reviews (not purchases but reviews) id be crazy to say one failure is enough to say them failing ain that way is common
My friend has one and I can tell you it feels like a 12 dollar AliExpress OEM board
the rk61 is actually better than my hhkb pro2
cause it is
it thocks
one failure
and thats even making the full asumption it was their part that failed and not the guys usb outputting 6v or a physical failure of the battery housing from a drop, etc
Rk61 with topre
making a worst case scenario assumption for them its nonsense to conclude anything off that one failure alone
hhkb is just rk61 with topre
if there was say info on the battery manufacturer they used having a x rate failure and all other companies fail half as often then valid
but do any of you have that data
mass usb overvoltage issues
slop build quality causing battery damage
valid reason to not recommend it
one failed in probably over 100,000
in that manner
thats the diode not the battery
there's only one in this entire album
and how do you know that
hm?
what if it was the pcb
or mcu
or solder joints
hmmmm?
if we say 100 of them failed in that manner and half were without cause thats still not an unexpected rate of failure
maybe not ideal
don't assume things without data bro
okay, so ill say 1
instead of 50
so its actually better than the rest of the industry off this new assumptionless logic for battery survivability
this is why i don't get wireless
valid
i avod wireless too
@crisp patrol youre a smart dude usually. idk why you lose all logical thought oncce it comes to keyboards
you do the same shit schizo overclockers do
if anything, it'd be better if you put your pc in a faraday cage
@crisp patrol then whats the failure rate and whats a normal failure rate
If you have enough data to claim they have some QC or failure rate issues but lack actually failure rate or QC numbers you must at the very least have the info required to interpolate thst
@crisp patrol why are you speed running having reddit brain then dying on the hill of not elaborating on any of the reddit pilled claims?
common sense
i think if i were in the market for a cheap keyboard and i saw photos of someone's exploded one i would avoid buying that particular model
even if it were a one off incident
What if I told you that every keyboard has had a few fail
exploding is not a normal kind of failure
fucky pcbs? yeah that happens even in mega expensive enthusiast boards
exploding?? that shits scary id rather not
It isn't a PCB issue...
How does nobody here know how keyboards work
It's like seeing a tire explode on a car and calling it an engine issue
It's a battery issue
An issue all boards with a lithium ion can and will experience
i didnt say the exploding was a pcb issue
im saying bad pcbs that managed to slip past qc has happened and is a kind of failure im willing to gamble on
n
no??? fym every keyboard with a battery will explode
with l;ithium ion yes, all will see a certain percent fail in a way akin to that
your battle is with lithium ion as a whole
if you're talking about decades old batteries pillowing and exploding thats
an entirely different thing
old psps exploding is unfortunate
someone's keyboard exploding after maybe a year or two of use is abnormal
boicc still coping i see
maybe his braincells are pillowing...
any time heat is out of spec, usb port outputs too much voltage, or chassis is compromized itll happen
so its not an age thing alone
it's a lot of things, yes
curious how theres been so many documented cases on rk boards in particular
the fact there is only 1 report of this happening is actually crazy lucky
i know some people manage to get perfectly good units that dont explode
one of my friends had a rk and i tell them about the exploding ones all the time but afaik they got lucky and didnt get shipped a defective one
the rate of their batteries failing is pretty low seemingly
also, ill bet you anything they dont oem their own batteries
and id bet you anything the same oem makes 90% of keyboard oem batterieis
maybe so! gee i wonder why i havent heard of and seen pictures of non rk keyboards exploding
maybe, just maybe because the issue isnt in the battery alone
because sales quantity
i hope u experience some minor inconveniences in ur keyboards
not exploding tho that would be awful
but maybe a normal pcb failure
if I buy 2 tvs for my home chances are none will fail
if I buy 100k to sell as a company chances are some will fail
will they explode tho
you realize how keyboards pcbs work right?
you can short the whole pcb in liquid metal and you wont have issues other than it not working
by design switches are a very very good short
if you press every key down you dont get a fire
and usb ports generally dont pass enough current to cause issues and will trip ocp if current peaks too high
keyboard pcbs are the simplest thing
a few switches which by design short, diodes, resistors, and a simple processor
none of those parts failing is an issue beyond keyboard working or not if they fail
lobotomy
@crisp patrol if I offered you $15 paypal to give a valid argument for them having a higher failure rate than any other semi notable company would you? literally any failure rate data that can logically be used to interpolate a percentage of failures or a direct cause
this is literally just like when there were reports of tesla steering wheels falling off and the dudebros getting all uppity and saying it's a normal kind of failure
not really cause those are failures with an explicable cause of failure that isnt normal
exploding should not be a normal kind of failure
claiming an oem using the same oem batteries as everyone else has a higher rate of failure on that same part with no data is just evolution going backwards
then boycot lithium ions
I remove them from any boards that have them
i use my kb wired too
as does any sensible person
to be clear this isnt me recommending rk cause @crisp patrol seems to keep failing to realize that
its me holding a claim that makes no sense to the minimum standart of proof
rk pcbs suck
go back to ur moms basement
the failure rate
so what is that rate
its a rate
so you should have a rate
do you have that?
more than other chinaslop
then whats the rate or relative rate
too much%
@crisp patrol go cry to reddit
you have no data
youre literally sourcing your own lack of understanding
r/ekwb will welcome you with open arms
chinaslop comes in a wide range indeed
no proof that asus scams people with their shitty rma policies because you have no data or percentage rate, get fucked
difference there is an issue that isnt normal can be identified
batteries failing are nnormal when batteries are used
It doesn't help that even in the rk subreddit they are actively recommending other boards
because reddit has a tendency to react to one popular post of a failure like its happening to all
reddits kinda alow iq bunch of reactionaries
so all the ek and asus shit is made up by low iq people?
do you read?
ever
i explain something then its like you somehow missed it and everything inbetween
remember when i typed this
what happened with ek anyway? i dont pay attention to watercoooling stuff since i cant afford it lol
they didnt properly electroclean before electroplating which causes peeling is I think what hes referring to but the issue there is identifiable and the claim isnt based in a percent
massive build quality decrease, employee issues (iirc not paying, bad treatment, etc.), probably a good bit of warranty issues, etc
damn, that sucks
esp for the people working in there
yeah
at least aliexpress has become the best place to buy wc parts now
bykski, barrow, etc. my beloved
because u get access to a pretty big chunk of the cn market with ali yeah
lots of slop but every so often there's some real gems
the amount of slop is overrexaggerated sometimes
i think once u shop on chinese sites enough ur slop radar gets decently strong
+100 social credit to u, comrade
cheap thinkpads, darks, and cherry boards
with the occasional good alps deal
not to mention the one time they had $250 titan vs
zamn
so now equate this same logic to kb
imagine im saying bykski all fail cause I saw one in a leaking pc
it's different
it isnt
yes it is
its the same argument
requires the same amount of proof thats all missing
and for the same reason
not in terms of quality
im impressed if you can make an explosding wired keyboard
big caps maybe
just use your keeb as a hot plate
perfect for the winter
leave it to rk
it literally is
so many more factors in keyboards
personally i think an exploding keyboard is scarier than a leaky loop
bykski has massive failure rate issues cause I saw one in a leaking pc
requires me to show failure rate I dont have
and requres me to identify the cause of the leak which i didnt do
same thing as rk have a massive failure rate cause i saw a pic of one blown up
not that a leaky loop isnt scary because if that happened to me i'd be freaking too
but exploding means active fire hazard and that means i could lose a lot more than just my pc
requires an identification of cause of failure which you lack
or are you just going to do more mental gymnastics
and is a rate which requres a rate whcih you lack
i can apply this same logic to any of those issues
obv pcb issue
and you can too
so whats the issue
the pcb
whats wrong with the pcb
and whats the rate of failure from the issue once you identify it
nobody is doing a full on investigation on some shitty $20 chinaslop keyboard
until then dont recommend them cause the sound or feel or price
then dont make baseless claims
simple as that
iirc the cause of the exploding rk was because the owner tapemodded it? but because rk boards are hilariously cheap, the pcb just sits rawdog on top of the battery
and things went really badly really fast
so issue wasnt even with them
so when i wanted to shove more foam into my cheap chinaslop keyboard i was like
im not taking any risks and pulled the battery out
and accidentally punctured said battery 😂
it was with the idiot user using a conductive tape
not necessarily
the explosion might be a one-off (and it's fun to meme) but i feel like theres enough documented cases of plain old bad qc
anecdotal evidence, sure
but thats all reviews
anyway rk go boom lol
i used the duct tape that came with my zoom75 like a dumbass and immediately after sticking it in i was thinking to myself
oh my god im gonna have so much fun trying to remove that in the future
because this was just months after accidentally puncturing my chinaslop battery, which was also taped in by the factory
nothing googone cant fix tho right
surely
Wtf
lol
i know googone will likely handle the adhesive alright but
i wonder if it's safe to put on the battery
thats the biggest concern
the duct tape in the kit was explicitly for securing the battery so i did follow the build guide correctly fwiw
shut up tbh
you can just not recommend it because of valid reasons
if thats a problem for you then you have issues tbh
whats crazy to me is this whole argument is over wanting to give false reasons to not recommend something instead of valid ones
that's like joker level you should know you're in the wrong
Anyone got a good keyboard rec $100 for gaming
no
steelseries are pretty good
for gaming you won't really notice a difference
unless you're super into keyboards
and not using something ultra cheap
anything
if gaming is ur main point
Is womier vk 66 a good keyboard?
no
it is a keyboard
You can't buy your skill
so i have a gk61 rn which is hot swappable , if i buy HE keys and swap them in i assume it wont work right?
how much do those cost? or am i better off just buying a prebuilt keyboard itself?
without using taobao your only option is prob wooting60+ which costs more than a cheap he keyboard
there is a really cheap and high performance pcb on taobao but everything in taobao is chinese and shipping would prob be expensive
is taobao like a site ?
chinese online shopping site
oh
kinda like amazon
i live like near it
all the good keyboard stuff are there
how uch would it cost?
under 200rmb if there is stock (not atm)
rmb?
oh thats preetty decent
and it should fit in any gh60 case
i would appretiate it
oh wait thats just the pcb?
yeah
there are many options if you want the whole thing
dont rly have recommendation tho
magnetic jade
Magnetic Switches is an evolution in mechanical keyboard switches that utilize a magnetic sensor to allow for changes in the actuation and reset point through dedicated keyboard software, also known as having rapid trigger capabilities. This is possible due to the hall effect sensors on the keyboard. This allows for qu
i was thinking something from here
raw he is also good (sounds very good afaik)
these r the options this has^
magnetic jade or raw he
alr
also is the reddragon rapid trigger keyboard good?
o attackshark
im gonna buy the attack shark x3 soon
so might aswell buy its keyboard
I mean atk not attackshark sorry
drunkdeer is also decent
only taobao link
I get most of my keyboard parts/cheap keyboards off taobao
oh alr
its like 50 on taobao lmao
fr?
which one would u say is better?
not sure, unless someone here has experience with either of it I would say go for the cheaper one
ALR
oops caps lock
any idea on how attack shark is tho? im gonna get the mouse sssoon but just wanna get it confirmed it soon
i mean i dont havve much of a budget to spend here
for x3 at least as its the only attackshark mouse I have tried
good morning keyboards
cj vs durock pom pianos in the same chassis
gonna buy more stabilizers soon. any recommendations on stabilizers
cherry clip ins with c3 wire

my recommendation is to stop looking for validation and use what you like.
damnnnn
damn is that a 38j?
xerox
real
oooh sleek
jus the 4 i use regularly
pingmaster??
idk, I just kinda want one
should've been around when you could get nos chinese ones for $20 off ebay
yeah

Ended up just buying c3 stabs and cherry clip ins and I'll just swap the wire because shipping for the combined kits in Europe was mad
Plus now I have a pair of screw in stabs just in case
So win win win
The only change I've done to my keyboard is swap the letters switches from linears to seafoam tactiles
Which color config looks better?
Realforce
this is keyboard
red with chroma weight
If you had to choose another color what would it be?
navy dusk
tbh just go with what you like
not what i like
I like navy as well
see, very solid
Maybe with these keycaps
the image did not show
Yeah ik that was weird
u thinking of buying the neo65 ?
Yeah
I have an og white Chroma qk65 r3
Getting a little tired of the foamy sound
It definitely helps that it's one peice of aluminum
If I were to get silver I'd polish it
ohh raw color yeah
Navy dusk looks so good thoo
But I'm looking for something to match the desk I'm building
87ub55
please don't make a tiktoker setup with this
so much potential
I won't I swear
thank god, no more white everything and nano leaves
It's a dual setup with my mom
I don't think she would let me add that much rgb
Just purchased a grey neo65 with a mirror black weight
sick trackball mouse
tyty
If I add any rgb its going to be accent lighting like white
sickk let us know how it turns out, would love to see the finished product
gmk laser clones and rgb lighting
I've matured quite a bit wouldn't you say XD
yeah i like the warm look of the new stuff
I also found that working for extended periods of time in that environment caused a lot of eye strain so I knew something had to change
I do too 🙂
Do you think the white stream deck is too distracting or is it just me
mount it somewhere thats hard to see
replace it with a realforce
a black realforce 86u would go hard on that setup
unfathomably real
or 84u conversion because wkl >>>
as a knife enthusiast... that knife hurts me

It's bad ik but it has emotional value
I bought it at a summer camp when I was younger
What mouse should i get with a budget of 130$
understandable
keybort
Hello to anyone and everyone reading this.
Amazon Prime Day is coming up here in Canada and I'm seeking recommendations on a keyboard that fits the following criteria:
Budget - $100 CAD (excluding the 15% tax my province charges)
Profile - 65 or 75%
Switches - Red or whatever equivalent offered
Connectivity - Ideally at least USB and 2.4Ghz
Thank you in advance for any and all recommendations.
I'll keep that in mind
quite literally the monitor market rn
I ain't paying $900 for a smoker smh
Hello. Im wondering what a a good 65% keyboard that anyone would recommend that is hotswappable and great for gaming. I have a RK that as of right now is giving me a lot of issues where the keys are getting stuck moving one direction. Now my problem isnt the keyboard's actual keys getting stuck but rather the input for the WASD movement is getting stuck for about 2-3 seconds where I will be constantly moving forward, left or right. So i was wonderin what anyone else recommends.
I play Valorant, Skyrim, and other games like Naruto STORM 4. (Essiently Im a variety player)
hhkb
ROYAL SLUDGE STRIKES AGAIN
you can use any keyboard for gaming
yea i realize but im a competitve person and im not afraid to drop 300$ max on a good keyboard
Have you tried replacing the switches?
well....no
I honest to god did not think of that sense they are not getting stuck
will that have anything to do with the input?
Hi
I was thinking it was more a software or even BT reciever issue
Try taking a couple switches you know work out and replace the ones that aren't working with those
Okay. Ill have to give it a shot in a game but I would be suprised if that worked
hall effect is the current hot gamer thing but the only people who genuinely benefit from it are the best of the best
a fancy keyboard will not make up for skill issue
Try moving the switches around first and if that doesn't work we can look at other causes
KEYBOARD
lmaooo lol im only gold and plat. i know my place
a keyboard that works is a good keyboard for gaming
fair but i have a small space so im only using 65% nothing bigger or smaller
whats your budget
my bad for the caps there fellas
He doesn't have to spend money if he doesn't want to
Lol
lets see the space
bro's likely having pcb issues
Maybe
royal sludge moment after all
Occam's razor...
also what country are you based in ig
in case we need to account for vat
THOCKY KEYBOARD
dangerously close coke can...
NAH
u should send the mousepad link ive been looking for one of those for a bit
are they any good?
like in terms of working with them with some light gaming on the side
yeah there are some nice ones
alright cause i heard it just doesnt glide well
ah makes sense
cause i currently have pretty much a leather desk mat and does all my tasks great.
but wool ones just look good
yeah they are still very nice to have though
whats the best mechanical keyboard under 100$?
wwhere ur weed ashtray
what is ur definiton of "best"
what's that graded card looker
no clue. good feeling and looking ig?
don’t know much about keyboards
the thing is
they are all preferences
they look good and feels good toyou doesnt mean they look good and feel good to me
$100 realforce from japan
Really like the anodized color. Looks nice.

REALFORCE SUPERMACY

^Just posting this here since my og message got lost in chat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 🙂
nice, you play the game?
ooh the old layout
yeah 2001 jp
oh yeah I played that game on steam
it's so pretty
Anyone know how I can fix my keyboards " key going from " to @ like every time I use the " key it outputs @
what keyboard is it
apex pro
did you mod it
no I've fixed it now
ah
wacky
any idea if it includes alps SKCL "compact" switches too?
they're basically just SKCLs cut in half

for all you f75 enjoyers out there 😉
Yo you got a felt mat
I got a keebmat kind of thing at the meetup
I’ll post a link
A TKL size deskmat designed in house at Cafege! This small mat is just big enough to fit a TKL size keyboard on. It provides a clean aesthestic on your desk while cushioning your keyboard for a softer typing experience. Dimensions 370mm x 160mm x 4mm Specifications Rough texture Actual product photo colour differs fro
yeah those are sick
Beige 😍
I’ll take a pic once I’m out of hospital
Now I might get a normal mousepad
Instead of the deskmat
Because I got the tkl mat for the keyboard so there’s not much point of the big deskmat
Are there any companies that make mouse pads with a swapped foam between the area the keyboard and mouse would be in?
If not that might be a nice market to tap into
i like the felt XL mats the most still
any suggestions to reduce wrist pain while typing?
do your wrist stretches
hover when you type
adjust your sittting posture
go ergo
I mean like one of those black artisan ones
For gaming
And when I’m not gaming I can just use my deskmat
whats a good keyboard under 100$?
gaming + programming. dont really know much about keyboards lol
how much gaming and programming you do
if you do a lot of programming (its your job or sth) then maybe consider getting 2 keyboards
a normal board for gaming and split/ergo for programming
Realforce
cs student
so 70% gaming 30% doing hw in vscode
imo hhkb is really good for coding but its prob out of budget
maybe some sort of alice, slightly more ergo and still able to game on
im also a pick and clicker. bad habit I picked up from when I was younger. memorized the layout so dont look at it but still slower than someone who types correctly.
like my hands are right above keys and I kinda just muscle memory
will try to learn to do it corretly
what kind?
K E Y B O A R D G L O B E
what is this monstrosity????
oh fave
Perhaps i have something special for you
big fan of the teacup keyboard google jp made that one time too
K E Y B O A R D С U B E

endgame
I recently got the GameStop GS200
Got it for 36 dollars
Only issue is that the switches are not hot swapable
And the keyboard is wired
And no wrist rest
But it's a lot of keyboard for the price
for topre yes

oh wait its that day of the year again
is the keychron v1 max good?
Topre is a type of switch different to mx style
Not everyone likes it but a lot of people do
There’s your pcb, then your cone shaped springs on top and then rubber domes on top the springs, these domes are very tactile and provide a nice feel, then all that is In a plastic housinng with a slider on top and then Ofc your keycaps
These sliders can be swapped out for mx COMPATIBLE Ones
Not just any mx stem
And you can then put mx keycaps in it
best 3pin linear?
The snarky answer is "same as the best 5 pin linear" seeing as you can just clip the extra legs
i dont really want to clip the extra 2 legs tbh
which ones are generally better? i don’t really have a preference as i’ve been using dog cheap keyboard and mice combos before
also if I was going to buy new what would you recommend?
under 100$ budget
You’d be better off looking for mx style with that budget
Under 100 bucks I’d look around for prebuilts
Keychrons maybe
If you wanna go a bit over 100 bucks you can get customs like the transition lite tkl
Or the classic tkl from novelkeys
Or try and find a filco majestouch
this
miles better than a keychron
only decent value keychron is lemokeys p1
this
filco is 🤌
The pink majestouch looks kinda nice
they got a new full stainless filco
plate mount mx black
this
lmao
modded my daily driver more yesterday and its so good now lol
tryed some mic pop filter foam that i havent seen anyone try and it worked so well
and did a tape mod obviously
obviously guys
yup
tf is a tape mod
@cunning anvil do you use thru hole or smd components on your boards more?
I'm also curious if you use templates at all
depends
sometimes
i prefer through hole for the aesthetic, but if im ordering assembly its almost always all smd
I think that's the one I'm using yeah

I haven't seen any tutorials on how to use the kleplacement plugin unfortunately
only some blog post with vague instructions
it seems a whole lot easier than placing everything manually
I'm guessing you don't use it much?
ive used it once when i made a full size i think
but most my stuff is small and less
staggered
hmmm
does it matter if I bother staggering on the schematic?
or should I just lay it out how I generally want it to be
Are there any normie full sized southpaw keyboards?
windx is Not normie stuff lmao
Yeah wind way too expensive for what you get
are there any shine through keycaps for south facing LEDs that are top printed?
everything you i can find is just side printed
everyone
today
i wish to reveal
my glorious creation
behold
the one key keyboard
linear, lubed, gateron yellows
with a 1% layout
Bluetooth? 🙂
bri trying to sell his keyboard for 7 months straight 💀
osu player mentioned
lol fr
guys I am a bit lost on what keyboard I should buy cuz I keep watching youtube tier lists and rtings ratings and other websites and it all says different things on what the best gaming keyboard that is in the 130-140 dollars price range. I've seen the razer huntsman mini highly rated on the rtings website and I also saw the corsair k55 rbg pro xt on some other website saying its the best. Could yall say what is really the best keyboard for that price range for gaming?
I still need help so yall can reply later too and thanks in advance!
ohh and my current keyboard (that has coffee on it) is a hyperX alloy fps pro
and I really liked it
realforce
You know, any keyboard is good for holding W and pushing buttons on the same time, you don't need 100+ overpriced crap
Some have faster reaction speed which don’t even matter that much tbf
Human reaction is ranging from 100 to 200 ms, 2 ms keyboard response time wouldn`t make any differnce
Yeah true
You think a steel series apex tkl would have a difference with like 0.1
That’s what I got tbh I don’t notice a huge difference
a good keyboard will not fix a skill issue
unless you are a pro/esports player I dont think you would notice the difference
True
And you motherboard and processor will also add a little bit of delay processing the signal, if you using Bluetooth, that wil also add delay, e.t.c.
Ah fair enough
must be a real force
bro dumped the whole HE keyboard indutry into the ocean
not available in romania
that's a lie
I didn't find it here
which keyboard

it’s a Joke about the Kohaku
Im not THAT educated
just go to Keychron and be happy
I build keyboards over on twitch.tv and would love to build yours too!

just realeased
fully built
foam 80
fr
The Bauer lite is in that price range if you want a 60

would not rly recommend evo80 tbh
afaik the chinese community is having quite some problem with it
mostly shit customer support (eventhough its qk)
transition lite
damn this one is really good, though i should have mentioned that i prefer the tkl layout as well, but the neo80 is still within the price range
either the neo 80 or the evo 80
evo 80 should be built with foams to sounds good
wait, is it wireless
yes
ok that's great
neo80 is much better
YOOO WW
now I just gotta finish laying everything out, then route the traces, and add mounting holes
looking good, i recently got my first custom pcb design soldered and programmed, still haven't brought myself to finish the V2 tho
kinda wacky layout on top row
I type numbers for a living
interesting
muh gmk
1/2 off GMK is still a deal, esp for this set i love it, wouldn’t ever pay full price tho

ouuuuu, i likey
Who was it that was glazing the viper V3?
Went to my friend's place to try it and some of the Razer mice I gave him after I upgraded to a (still bad) model O and Jesus I forgot how mushy the clicks and non smooth the stock skates were
No wonder I thought model O was endgame back then
Hey everyone. I’ve a question regarding the detachable keyboard for my Surface Pro, I’m wondering if this is the right area to ask about it or do I ask in a different section?
here's probably fine
keyboard question in the keyboard channel
Ok cool, just wanted to check first.
So I have a Surface Pro and the detachable keyboard- it’s called a Type Cover. It was working and then it just stopped. The Surface was turned off for quite some time- like two months. Anyway, I contacted Microsoft and they had me re-image the Surface using a USB key. It still doesn’t work. I attached the Type Cover to another Surface and it lit up and worked just fine.
Is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot this or any hidden tricks I ought to try?
Guys linear or tactile switches?
this is a keyboard channel biocc
makes me think the issue is with the surface itself rather than the keyboard, since you said the keyboard works fine on another machine
if you're able to, maybe try attaching a different keyboard to that surface and seeing what happens?
or maybe wipe down the contacts where the keyboard connects?
better question, typing or gaming
go to your local bestbuy or whatever and touch the display keyboards so u can tell the basic difference between them
and then pick what u like
bonus points if you have a microcenter nearby
ionno if that's good for tactiles tho lol
my bbuy just has browns on display for tactiles
I really like heavy tactile switches for typing, but it gets annoying for games where I have to hit the same key over and over
so usecase does play into tactiles vs linears
it's good for personally understanding the basic difference between switch types
but thats about as far as it goes
browns are shit tactiles imo
barely feels tactile
I dont rly like mx tactile but for me baby kangaroo is the best one yet
i feel like this is a parrot thing to say
browns are good tactiles if you like browns lol
consider alps
try having a 140g s[acebar
Gaming
There are no stores that sell keyboards... I just realized I've had both types btw
I think I prefer linear
a keyboard that works is a keyboard good for gaming
I have a ROG falchion ace rn, I wanted to upgrade to something better sounding and possibly wireless, but I wasn't sure on what switches to pick
im a tactiles guy so i dont really have too many feelings about linears aside from spring weight so
look up the weight of the switches you're currently using
do you think theyre too light? too heavy? just right?
it's a start
I think they're a bit light, but I like that, I'm used to it now
I used to have a blue switches keyboard...
gateron yellows and kang whites are some super dirt cheap favourites across the community iirc
Yeah I was thinking about getting the Kang whites
morandis are pretty popular too
and they have the nice light diffuser
But yeah the Kang whites fit
euros
ouch there's vat involved too
better shop from local vendors then
I don't have local vendors 😭
https://wiki.keyboard.gay/VENDORS.html
give this site a look, they list eu vendors too
if vat isnt too bad, aliexpress could be a potential option..? maybe
Thank you, kindly! I will try this when I am next at my desk.
kang whites...
a bit dated
u can get newer switches
I kinda Wana get it on Amazon
Cuz the money I'm using is the one I got from returning a monitor
So...
Dont ask for help in dms please
didn't
🤓
😍😍😍 Gods, I could only hope to be so lucky one day 😭
20 is a good start but I think you might be right
🤔🤔🤔
I’m just imagining how awesome this would be for music production as long as those knobs could be mappable. Likely an unreasonable expectation
u can grab one of these guys on the side
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=635130485812
mine got more knob
this one is cheaper
is it less yuans per knob tho
this is like 70 bucks
yeah but it['s got 9 knob
ew
just get a mixer at that point
An audiophile-grade, multi-purpose monitor controller for tracking, mixing and mastering that won’t color your sound. Designed by the renowned Chris Muth, the MONITOR ST handles all of your input sources, speaker switching, cue, talkback and headphone needs, all in a 1U package with crystal clarity.
👍
youre comparing a 100$ keyboard meme to a $2000 mixer dickybird
Yo I’m looking to bet my dad a new keyboard for his work but don’t want to break my budget. Would someone dm me for some ideas?
These sideway encoders are so expensive compared to the trusty EC11... I've been trying to convince myself for the past 2 months that they're worth the price I'd have to pay for them thanks to my shit currency and tax laws (it'd end up being about 20 USD per encoder, iirc)
have you found any replacement EC11 30 step encoders that don't wobble...
for a 29.99 keyboard, this is kinda decent lol
full of trackers....
there are prob better options on AliExpress (depending on region)
buy more
get ur dad a logitech k120
will last 10 years +
K280E is nicer in my opinion
membrane enthusiast
K120 is also membrane
he just mentioned that he need a keyboard
and as cheap as possible
membrane is the way
Realforce is the cheapest
Reorganized my whole setup so I could have shelf space for future keyboards and have room for a glass mouse pad
And so that my monitor are more centered, flat, and close
https://www.androidauthority.com/google-japan-circular-gboard-keyboard-3488050/ this is certainly an odd one
"double sided"
nobody counted
Mobius strip so technically one sided https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hou0lU8WMgo
"You are technically correct - the best kind of correct".
From Futurama season 2, episode 14 - "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back".
Question, I have a LInk65 and lately it seems that I have to replug the USB cable to it if I reboot with it connected in order for it to work again. I just tested 4 other keyboards and they do not have this happen to them. How can I fix it on my Link65?
project numero 41
@cunning anvil what do you usually mount your custom boards on?
I see some people using standoffs and something under the pcb, maybe a blank board idk
depends on if its based on a specific case or i get to chose
my customs these days are just skeleton hull i think
idk
fr4 skeleton is my go to
Hi everyone , i wanted to know if a Keychron keyboard is better than the razer huntsman mini or the Logitech G PRO X60 LIGHTSPEED ? Bc i wanted to buy either the razer or logitech but someone told me that i should go for a Keychron
what are you looking for in a keyboard
i just want a wireless tkl or 60% keyboard for mostly gaming
razer and logi have their own firmware so how much do you think you'll benefit from either of them
since most keychron models use qmk/via nowadays
and how much do you care about things like aesthetics and hotswappable switches
do not go optical tho you'll be shafting yourself
im sorry bc english is not my 1st language, but what is a firmware 😭 , i know nothing about keyboard/switches and all that , since i never had one. For the aesthetic I just want a black tkl/60% wireless (if possible) keyboard
is the firmware the application to customize the keyboard?
whats the best mechanical keyboard for gaming + programming? under 200$ budget
all black
custom built or prebuilt idc
Like most things you physically touch to use, "best" is very subjective.
Just get a keychron /s but not really /s
how about you do some of your own research
you got 2 hands and an empty search bar, what you waiting for ?
I have no idea what Im looking for tho?
never really had a pricey keyboard
most were membrane keyboards
I mean I dont really have a preference yet
what do most people find good?
200$ is budget still
given the price of big gaming brands
really?
i would say so
how much would I have to spend for a good one?
good is subjective
so are video games, yet most people agree elden ring is great
is there something like that for keyboards?
one most people agree is decent
not sure where this info is coming from
No idea what most people find good, but I'm personally a Cherry MX Brown switch user for life. Still have my Logitech G710+ going strong since 2012, now with Razer PBT Keycaps on it.
I find browns have a good activation point. They are kind of in the middle when it comes to clickyness, activation and tactile feel.. Not to much of any one thing, but a good middle ground for all... I found when i used reds i was prone to double tapping keys by mistake.
I believe Linus also prefers browns
should I just build my own and follow ltts guide? and just choose the switches I like best?
like exactly
Entirely up to you. I cannot advise what someone should or shouldn't do when it comes to items of a personal nature, like those you use in the office. Not trying to be difficult, but it's like asking "what's the best work headset" - there are hundreds of headsets that all fit and sound different to different people.
i mean when someone asks "whats the best earbuds for an everyday person" most people say airpods
Thats what the consumer would say
