It's issue is tuning with a small cavity
It's aluminum
Has a battery cavity you can use to house a brass plate though
Sugar 65 is the ultra cheap one though
Lucky 65 sell for $60
It's not perfect but it's $60
Main issue like I said is that it has a plate that's absurdly soft and it lacks the area for tuning easily in the cavity
It's a much thicker plate of aluminum than you'd expect
Weight isn't an issue for it
I'm talking about the board itself
It's just a giant weight itself
But has a small cavity behind the PCB
Which limits ways to tune it and get gain
The weight is just decorative
Correct
It's a decorated cutout on an absurdly thick aluminum board
Not it's real issue
A brass weight that size would cost almost as much as the entire board @patent belfry
Obviously it won't have one
They also list it as an aluminum weight

you realize it's just a decorative cutout of the body like I said already...
If you want to be semantic you're being an idiot cause semantically anything that adds weight is a weight...
It could be a resin cube and they could call it a weight
Your argument is more it's not brass
Which nobody disagrees on ...
You arent getting a stock $40 brass weight on a $60 board
Who are you arguing with
And what are you even trying to argue
Then you agree with me
So who are you arguing with
I got the aula f75 for $70 should I cancel? I don’t know what keeb to get for $70 and this was one of the best ones I found someone help?
It'll arrive and it'll be better than what you have
Enjoy it and don't ask for us to give you buyer's remorse
Bro chill I bought on Amazon so payment hasn’t even gone through yet
It'll be fine
yes
that thing is worth 30 at modt
should i buy keyboards from aliexpress? im looking at a vgn a75 rn but i feel like im gonna get scammed
its a trustable site if you dont buy it off sketchy sellers
its basically amazon but by a different company
Then what do I get
budget?
$70 and under
check aliexpress pick a board, watch a non affiliate review for that model you picked
$70 is too much for aula f75
I’m not buying off Ali it takes a month or two to get to me
which country
Us
some listings have a delivery guarantee
like 10, 13, 15 days
or do you need a keyboard immediately
Yea I bought from them not too long ago (2 months ago) and it arrived on Friday
i assume it didn’t have a guarantee
It did but I’d rather have it soon
unsure how it is in us but orders over $10 i order usually arrive on 10 days, including weekends
Idk
it’s about 20% cheaper from aliexpress
Ok what’s that supposed to mean
seller and amazon get more mone per sale
than seller + aliexpress
Ok but what’s the best keeb for 70 on ama
prob rk r75 at 55
not necessarily better than the aula but it’s cheaper
What one sounds better
about the same ig
not whole alot of difference to the sound when comparing the two, the rk75 may be more neutral’ish and the aula more marbly doesn’t matter all that much
i’d not spend 70 for the f75 tho
really, that board can be gotten off taobao for 27~ + shipping
So I get the rk? @bitter oar
if you can’t find similar boards than that at cheaper then probably yes
go through amazon
It has silvers so good for gaming?
unsure what switches they use but they’re prelubed so fine
I wish the purple also had mda layout but the caps are silver switch pro
@bitter oar is $70 m75 good?
the one with the refrigerator knob? no
Yea, alr I’ll get the r75 but is it wireless? Idc if it isn’t I just care about sound, quality, and speed
it is iirc
What’s that
if i remember correctly or recall correctly
the latency of those boards are usually 12ms~ over 2.4ghz so, fine
Ok
just don’t use bluetooth, it will have the greatest latency of all
@bitter oar what’s this https://a.co/d/4AFss0H
no, older rk boards suck
Ok
Is there a difference between the blue and green/black? https://a.co/d/9H6wW7u
Introducing the RK ROYAL KLUDGE R75 Wired Mode Gasket RGB Mechanical Keyboard PBT keycaps, Silver Switch, White. This keyboard is a high-end custom mechanical keyboard with gasket mount mechanical switches. It features a 75% layout and is made of high-quality materials. The keyboard has a gasket ...
if the different color versions don’t have different switches no
Ok
i’d check tho it’s weird the different color variants don’t have via/qmk in describtion
ideally buy one with via, but it’s not necessary, decent software
R75 isn’t wireless which idrc about but idk if it has via
it is no?
2.4g atleast
yeah, there are multiple versions of r75’s
Don’t think so, it doesn’t say
there are versions with 2.4g and without (wired)
and via/qmk ones
@bitter oar after some research apparently rk’s like to blow up so ik not gonna get it
iirc only the old models suffered, the more recent not so much
So should I get it for $70?
$70 for a plastic keyboard is an overpay tbh
Nvm I thought too were talking abt the yz75
spend like extra $20 and you have aluminum one
or $20 less and buy a $50 board that’s basicly the same thing
just get the r75 or m75 at $55~ as long it doesn’t have the refrigerator knob that’s not even a knob but rather a bt/wired/2.4 switch
But everyone is saying they blow up even the newer ones
This thing with caps and switches didn't cost much more than $70
which one was the most recent one that blew up, btw it’s not just rk issue
anything with battery has a chance to blow up
1 year ago I think
I noticed people like to just claim blindly anything that's Chinese in this hobby will blow up
Largely just ignorance
most people don’t realise that due to the mass of people owning keyboards/mice the more reddit posts about products being defective there will be
for example double clicking issues with logi mouses or such
Yes but every other server I have been in say rk should be avoid at all costs any other ones?
there’s so many people owning the mice there just have to be people with issues due to the thousands of individuals using them
which servers
Mechkeys, pcmr, pchh
Half of servers say the same about hifiman. It's just a high sails yield product will have some fail
So do i go for the r75?
I've also noticed there is a bias on reddit to assume any issue is the companies fault or wide spread if anyone complains about a Chinese product
it doesn’t matter sure
Alr I just wanna get the best with my money
there’s a chance they all come from the same factory anyway
yeah, and looking at other companies the chinesium fails aren’t even that bad
remember samsung having explosive phones?
and still dad’s S23 ultra battery expanded and the phone died
my a52s 5g battery degraded to basicly 40% within 1.5-2 years of light-moderate usage
and the touchscreen died after warranty
i believe that is pretty outrageous
@bitter oar is there any way you can look on Amazon for me? To make sure that’s the best one for money, I’m doing farm work rn
there are too many boards to choose from, i’d spend like 4 hours searching the best value board, just go to aliexpress, check if they do have that board on amazon and watch a non affiliate review
sorry but no
search
realforce
$70 these are the ones I found so far YZ75 R75 F75 AK820 Pro
What do I get?
It comes with the foam
Is lucky75 good
Ok
@patent belfry any good keebs on aliexpress under $70 you know about?
@bitter oar what’s a good keeb off Ali for $70 and under
Column...
yunzii y75 are amazing keyboards for relatively cheap
last I checked epomaker made some good budget keyboards too
this keyboard got pretty popular for being an amazing budget keyboard there are a bunch of videos on youtube going over it
AK820 pro can be found for that cheap
Knob is wobbly though
Yes I just bought that for $60
Woopty doo dah
Gift
those are solid
Ye
my TH80 pro has a much better knob
Can I touch it
anyway yea the knob is pretty cheap feeling
I'm probably swapping mine out on the AK820 pro
cause the rest of the board is pretty nice
It's great for bringing around as it's pretty light
actually really light
and the screen is a nifty feature that's fun for a week and just exists
Found a pretty cool way to fix most of the high pitched sounds to lucky 65
I wanted to reinforce the stock plate so I tensioned a andesite copper foil sheet on then cut out all the holes with an exacto knife then put a sheet of the same thing (with painters tape between them because it's conductive on the sticky side too)
Hey! I'm in the market for a keyboard with a budget of $200 USD, and I'm hoping for one that includes the following:
- Aluminum faceplate
- Linear switches (I play a lot of FPS games)
- Detachable cable
- Hot-swappable switches
- Dark keycaps
- 100%
I'd love to hear any recommendations! Thanks!
infi75/infi75 lite
looking for an id on this switch
also i wanna put together a 100% keyboard with thesae switches. i have no clue what im looking for besides i want it to be hot swap, black shine through caps, and a black base
some recommendations would be welcome!
i dont want rgb either just some white leds will do fine. like the board in the background of my photo
Only thing I need to do now to get the keyboard sounding perfect is put a brass weight where the battery used to be and put sa keycaps on top
whats the purpose of that coil cord thing?
i get that you wouldn’t yank on either connectors when moving it around and its small and clean but do you really move around your keyboard that much
ive been maining a usb c for a while with a laptop so I have to unplug frequently and ive never had issues
seems super cosmetic
I switch position between typing and gaming but it's mainly for the aesthetic
and it is
Use AliExpress instead but yea
but coiled cables are pain in the ass if you change keyboard or move the keyboard
it was just a quick google search to see the general pricing
how so
do they get mangled and stuff
its a large long thing that sits on your table
I never had issues with them but they're mainly just for aesthetics
and is not flexible at all
They are basically a normal USBc that looks good
lmao alright
i am using wireless most of the time anyways so ill pass
thanks for info
Only thing left to finish the sound is the put a brass weight where the battery used to be and to install s a form factor keycaps
Can't say it's perfectly in your budget but I quite love the keychron Q6, it's a steel plate, but otherwise it mostly hits what you're looking forhttps://www.keychron.com/collections/custom-keyboards/products/keychron-q6-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard
Keychron Q6 is a fully customized full-size layout mechanical keyboard packed with all premium features and endless possibilities. Q6 is an all-metal keyboard that allows customizable capabilities for every key switch, keycap, knob, and stabilizer. It’s made for your personalized experience and a more comfortable typing experience.
I personally don't like their keycaps but it's a feel for me I don't like
And switches are hotswappable
Hey all, mechanical switches for keyboards, is it always "red switches" for the silent options? I'm so confused with all the brands n which colour switches I should be looking at....I just need one for quiet typing....some mention linear, some say tactile....sorry to be a pain 😢😁
guys
I caved
the way this keyboard sounds for it's price and the fact it's freaking metal
even my akko is plastic and more expensive
it's good
my akko keyboard frame has so many scratches
the fact that I have to use a god damn flathead
to disassemble the kb
do u think the mchose for what it is
is a decent kb
for the avg user
the kb I js sent
an aluminium prebuilt that's cheaper
I got them in matcha latte switches
this post got to me
coz like my current keyboard is the Akko 5075B+
but ngl, the switches sound a lot better than what an akko switch comes stock
my 5075B+ is like
even aft I put some tape
it's not like buttery ykyk
what do u look in a good kb
my akko is in bad shape
at least the matcha keycaps save some of it
So Ive finished at work. Is there a cheap (less than £50) mechanical quiet / silent keyboard or what is the switch, key colour I should be looking for as I'm totally confused by linear, tactile, membrane, mechanical like, yellow, brown, black switches
the fact that they put 399 yen on the ad
cant tell is this has shine through keycaps
Aluminum CNC machined case Connect 3 ways- wired with USB-C cable, Bluetooth 5.1, and 2.4 GHz Double gasket design with PC plate Hotswap sockets that support both 3-pin or 5-pin switches 1000 Hz polling rate in wired and 2.4 GHz mode South-facing RGB LED with 22 RGB backlight settings Easy-reach switch to toggle betwee
do they make shinethrough ones?
You can buy shine through caps of course, but those are not
Make sure you get south facing shine thru caps if you do so
if i order without switches will it come with caps too?
does keychron sell caps with the correct glyphs for media keys etc?
Im not sure on that, I would suspect if you dont get switches u dont get caps but yeah idk
They very well could
i'll look into the keycaps
keycaps are cheap anyws
Evening chaps and chaps! Got a curious issue with my Corsair Strafe that I'm wondering if you've encountered before?
whats mathca?
So I was getting help, I've looked in AliExpress now and wondered while would be the best for actual silent, no noise????
Thank you, do you find they have much wobble, movement?
i personally have not noticed anything like that, but i also only care about how quiet it gets 😅
A switch can only do so much
The case. Material. And everything in between would have the most impact
You'd be looking at a plastic case and a plastic framed gasket
Heyo, anybody know how far self-charging keyboards have come/if they are on the market yet? I remember they were proposed quite a few years ago and some models were tested at that time
never having to charge it as it converts excess energy of keystrokes (or even scrolling) into usable electrical energy. Paired with a battery that can take lots of charging cycles and you get a keyboard you rarely have to charge
hey i recently got a $120 giftcard for best buy so im looking for a tkl or 75% keyboard with switches that are close to hyperx reds
Reserve Flow Lite for $1 Get $60 Off and a Free Gift ($19.9 value).
Y’all have any idea if this is a good keyboard? I’m thinking about the flow lite 100
I'm looking for a relatively cheap (USD) 100% keyboard that would preferably be barebones as I already have switches and keycaps but I'm willing to get a fully biult keyboard. Any recommendations?
corsair k65+ is solid
its 160 so youd have to pay the diference but the switches are really solid and sound pretty good for a prebuilt
looks like $50 board
it’s overpriced at best and, you will well obviously pay alot for branding, not for value
then what would you recommend?
from bestbuy? uh
buy some component or such or something that you can resell back for most of your money if you do have everything you want and then buy a keyboard, or well if you don’t mind over paying for a keyboard then buy one off bb
Could I be cheeky and ask for help please? It was suggested I look on AliExpress for a cheap mechanical keyboard and then silent switches I have around £50 for both (I wanted to get some nice comfortable key caps too if budget permits. Then a silent wireless mouse (I think I've found one, the Logitech M650) I've found so many keyboards but I don't know which is 3, or 5 pin....I had picked AKKO fairy switches as they appear to be whisper quiet.
Any good wireless gaming mouse that can be used for school and gaming
Under 50-60 euros
Hi! How do I know if my rk61 is hot swappable?
agreed
my akko 5075B+ even with a tape mod still have some vibration sounds
which is why I'm waiting for my MCHOSE GX87 to arrive.
im guessing the keyboard lacks dampening material if for example, when pressing spacebar, it makes a very classic keyboard sound
like yk how custom kbs the thocky ones are very smooth
but my stock akko with a tape mod still has that keyboard clackiness to it
Cream Yellow switches btw
its still a clacky kb
thocky tharbly marbly clacky poppy
it should be
take a switch puller or two tweezers and press down together the clips on the switcha and pull it, it should come off
tho, make sure to look for what switches you buy if you want to replace them, hotswap sockets on old, cheap rk kbs are usually poor 3 pin sockets
I thought keyboard switches would at least supply the right amount, some of these packs are 10, 20, 24 etc I'd need 3/4 packs so another £40-60
realforce
realforce
Okay thanks
another happy customer
I'm just checking them out rn
Is there any other good brands to compare too
Preferably wireless stuff
And preferably not super expensive:(
I just don't wanna spend 200 bucks on a keyboard that would go over my budget I have set for a PC and stuff included
100 is prob my max if even that
Also would want a full one cause I want the F keys
Customized my V5 Max!
@cunning anvil how 2 pcb design
bet (I'll mostly be working on mouse and keyboard pcbs for now)
It’s a good 100%, Blue switch keyboard for a $50 budget? The thing is I’m not looking to get it now. I’m just interested in it.
https://www.amazon.com/KOORUI-Keyboards-Mechanical-Keyboard-Backlit/dp/B0C1N775CL
Which is better for a more quiet typing, keyboard??? I'll be hoping to use akko fairy switches
I'm no material master. But what I've found to work is more, flexible, thinner, breathable material.
I was just seeing if the plastic one Vs the thin aluminium one, it's so confusing
I want that keyboard to feel like a fresh pair of undies
so don't use foam
silent switches do more than the case material
go to Aliexpress
literally search Keyboard
I found one I like thanks tho!
it's literally like 20 usd for the backbone
What is the backbone
actually I'm wrong
backbone is just the case and pcb
no switch and keycaps
that's usd right
just buy ur keyboards on aliexpress
it's like $44 USD for the Aula F75
AliExpress is confusing me it all feels like a scam lol
nope, their keyboards are legit
that's because all the good budget brands come from china
which explains why they have their own store in aliexpress
many people buy keyboards from aliexpress and upsell them
I feel like I'm having trouble finding one
But not the right color:(
what colour u looking for
did u not see ur picture
ur picture has the black grey gradient
Pause
it's the same thing my guy
it's not full black
Oh well maybe I'm blind my bad 😭
and u can always js buy keycaps
Grey/black or whatever works too
they're not expensive
Meh if I can get it all together that's preferable
idk but I personally bought the mchose gx87
But yeah I think that is the same one just looks strange with no backlight
Oh is that pricey or something
it gained popularity for being prob one of the best keyboards that's good for its price
When I first went in here people wanted me to buy REAL FORCE that looked trash but was 200 buckaroos
example
Ah okay
MCHOSE GX87
the one I bought
70 USD
for a full aluminium build
5 layer dampening
tri mode
8000mah batt
it's not even plastic
on Indiegogo?
u saw that price on indiegogo?
Oh no alixpress
that's yuan btw
idt they display their prices in international currency until check out
Top tier
Can u just send the link of wherever your seeing a cheap one at cause all I'm seeing is 150
there are 3 versions btw
lite max and ultra
Ultra is the only version with a quick release system
basically it uses a ball catch system to hold onto the top cover
the lite and max uses screws
but what's on taobao/ali wld be the max
https://click.world.taobao.com/_a.93ho 「Mchose Gx87 Mechanical Keyboard Aluminum Tuotuo Customized Finished Three-Mode Wireless Bluetooth Gasket Structure」
Tap and open Taobao to view
A new ice.js project.
u will need to install this app btw
Oop why
Taobao is basically Aliexpress' startup
they're basically the same place but 2 names
it's more like
That's so sus wtf
depends where u live but I'm in Asia
Singapore specifically
air shipping takes a week
WTF is that one
slightly more overpriced but it's still under 100
the website who funds mchose
What is mchose
they're one of the international distributors
Am I supposed to know that
the company who made the keyboard
@heavy sage
u need F keys right
Experience unparalleled typing comfort and precision with the MCHOSE X75 wireless mechanical keyboard. Its 75% layout provides a compact yet ergonomic design, perfect for maximizing desk space. The gasket-mounted construction ensures a smooth and responsive typing experience, while the RGB backli...
I'm confused why does indieaogo want me to invest in stuff
u can get this then
u cld always change the keys
But like the bottom of it is still not black:(
spray paint it 🙂
Also ngl I don't like how the nob is on the side
I like the black one I found still
Even tho she's plastic does it really matter?
its still a good kb
the knob is actl a good feature that custom builders like yk
it adds functionality and aesthetic
I don't really know what the knob is good for but it looks good
this is gonna get replaced soon
volume control
rgb control
some or I wld say
ALOT OF PEOPLE
hate having those rgb software on their computers
the knob controls the brightness of the rfb
rgb
Oh okay cool
aliexpress is pretty powerful
yk how I mentioned the GX87 was $70
Wait is the one I showed gunna have like a dongle thing like a mouse would?
this keyboard is way more expensive than $70 coz it's an akko and it's plastic and sounds worst
it's gonna have a 2.4 ghz or Bluetooth or wired
Ive been using a crappy laptop for a while so anything is better
So what does 2.4 ghz mean
it's basically wireless and uses a dongle
Oh okay bet I love that
like yk those USB dongles
ye it's that
Alright then
I think I will just buy what I showed just so I don't have to wait years for it to be here but thanks for showing me good places to look for stuff
Got any nerds here on that topic? xd
Yeah, most keyboards use this thing called a usb cable
Rate the first custom mechanical keyboard
I love the cap set and anodized blue metal
Which board?
Made this one out of a lucky 65
But the blue and purple versions were all sold out
So I was stuck with black
which is sometimes a pain in the ass lol
That's why keyboards with batteries were invented. But they also suck bcs u have to charge them quite often. Which kinda seems unnecessary, when u literally have so much power being hammered into keyboards that's just wasted, which should be more than enough for such a low power device
let me know when you manage to fit generators into each switch along with an ac to dc power supply in the keyboard 👍
generators: coilds of wire around a magnet
ac to dc: literally just 4 diodes
I mean, ofc you'd need a bit more ciruitry, like condensators n shit, but it is all technically possible
the voltage generated by switch sized alternators won't reach anywhere near 5v much less after the filter caps and vreg
anyone know where i can get a high profile case for a drop alt without spending like $150
are reddragon mechanical keyboards good?
the 5V mainly depend on the storage medium, you could run lower voltage parts. Plus, inductors do exist.
Will it be efficient? most definitely not, but with such a low power application it wouldn't have to be.
There was research done here after all
Hey guys what’s a good prebuilt mechanical keyboard I can buy for like $50-$60
prefered size? womier sk71, $60 from aliexpress with a coupon
I don’t really care what size
yeah, sk71 aluminum kb prebuilt for $60
Thanks
Transition Lite x Xray
Oh the board looks nice
what the fuck is that
epoxy
i assume
speaking of stupid
trying to think if its worth it to get rid of half the diode footprints by including 3 jumpers
Added a resin mounted copper plate to lucky 65
I also added a thin layer of liquid electric tape to damp the chassis for high frequencies

Put a thicker layer on the edge to act as a slight spacer to fix the tolerance for the pcb
So that it would t lose flex
or you just buy a decent board
Why do that if I can just get a cheap board and make it as good or better with some effort
Plus it feels more satisfying
"as good or better" is pulling weight
It'd cost a lot more to get a board that's 4-4.5lbs while being a 65%
Plus they probably wouldn't get as deep stock either
Most metal boards end up pingy
not what i mean
if u buy cheap chinesium yes
most in general
its liquid electric tape
its meant for pcb issolation
price and country have 0 to do with how a material behaves
Dude no
No
can you find me a deep stock sounding metal board?
how is deep bad?
Hm lemme see HOW ABOUT ANY GOOD METAL BOARD
like?
Exactly
can you give an example?
Biooc always out here trolling with false information
fr
how am I trolling with false info... im just asking for an example of a deep sounding stock metal board
Literally any decent not shit board
man wants foam i guess
Yeah
they resonate completely differently
How
metal amplifes high frequencies much easier
because it has higher frequency resonances
🤓
got the lucky 65 sounding deep without foam
just takes effort
which is my point
A good metal board won’t have pingy you just are used to shit boards
^
Most good boards have enough foam in them to do that
so whats a low pitched metal board...
im not using any foam
Real
switch material + keycap material + plate material
a lot of factors matter
Biooc is always here making absurd points about bull shit he knows is wrong just to troll
Precisely
i dont think he is actually trolling
Dunning Kruger effect ahhhh
yep
do any of you know how to have a discussion?
youre making a lot of non backed up claims
and circle jerking eachother
why bother discussing stuff when one party is just saying dumb shit?
while schizoing out about me making claims I never made
oh so he does that in this channel too?
LOL
Yes
such as...
Everything that leaves your mouth
could you just let me know the dumb claim
or tell me a deep sounding stock metal board
.
ive been reading
.
you havent given an example once
I have a suggestion for you
Be quite and stop spreading misinformation then come back once you have actual good info
where is he saying dumb stuff?
@charred plank
what misinfo have I spread?
Everything you say practically
^
so far the only claim I made was country and price dont change how materials behave
there are ways to make metal boards sound deep
but its not just being more expensive
man does not know what Chinesium is
its around increasing the mass so it behaves as a self damping system then adding a thin layer of demping for high frequency resonances
because thats inherently how metal behaves
what do you disagree with?
if you disagree with something explain what and provide reasoning and proof
then we will be having a "discussion"
disagrees "disagree harder pls"
metals inherently have a resonant frequency where they most heavily amplify
for aluminum its around 2-3khz
which is pretty high pitched
you dont believe in the importance of this frequency band anyway
we discussed that in audio tech
lmao
resin inherently resonates at closer to 500hz or lower
no, i just dont falesly magically apply it to things it has no relation to
when talking about amplitude per frequency amplitude per frequency matters
this is why to get an aluminum board deeper you need to add mass to increase the energy needed to make it resonate and preferably dampen that resonant frequency
the more targeted of a band you can damp it in the better
yep
and all this applies to keyboards
you dont even need to measure it
you just need to understand it
and thats all thats needed to avoid making dumb claims like paying more or not being chinese magically changes material behavior
let me name a few different types of aluminum : 5052 , 6063 , 7075
not really. aluminum is aluminum. the variance from the purest and least refined aluminum isnt going to be much
there also isnt much reason to water down aluminum
this isnt gold
alloys arent real?
obamium alloy
5052 is 97% aluminum still, 6063 is 99% aluminum, and 7075 is about 90% aluminum
alloys matter but the variance here isnt much
whats the difference in resonant frequency between them...
the question is by how much
off a quick google search the resonant frequency doesnt change much between those alloys
if you cant quantify something yourself, is it really even real?
id bet there is a difference
but id also bet its not just down to the alloy
id bet you anything its a combination of things
such as the plate, they switches, the damping, the pcb

it just happens to have good damping properties
just use foam
foam wouldnt work as well

would take up more of the cavity and wouldnt damp high frequencies as efficiently
but frequencies don't matter
they do when youre targeting a sound
goal isnt just to get a quiet keyboard for me
its to get a loud but deep board
im still waiting for you to say where im wrong or lying and provide any proof
Aight pal go back to the vr chat or Roblox server and troll them instead
if im wrong then why is it that with no foam and none of the mods I did the board is high pitched and after these same mods they happen to do exactly what I said they would and make the board deep
"id bet you anything its a combination of things"
"I filled my keyboard with concrete so you don't have to"
"liquid electrical tape = THOCK"

lmao
lmao
I didn’t realize it would actually ping someone lmao
it didnt
do you think i could produce a 30$ 30% keyboard
fr4 skeleton case
WARNING BIOOC LOGIC well yes since $100 100% keyboards are a thing so it must work that way
sounds neat
if youre looking through my message history that far and couldnt realize thats a sarcasticquestion then im sorry but you need help
will it flex
I think this means skeletonized hardened steel
huh
teehee
go to #roblox-and-vr-chat
kinda is. Means not only are your claims so baseless out of ignorance that you can't back a single one up, but rather they are baseless out of malice and intent to mislead.
if you just didnt know better and misled people so be it
but what you do is something else
doenst really matter if you used that time to mislead people and yourself
LOL
there is a fallacy around using that as a justifier for claims you cant justify otherwise
do you realize that people don't do what you do for a reason
not at all
then what reason?
idk, if one person could justify their beliefs (especially when those beliefs seem to be at odds with simple amterial science) then maybe id listen
but rn its just an example of how misinformed the average joe is
if that happened reply to the 2 times it was explained
shouldnt be hard
I can read
youre just doing the same repeating pattern
you make a claim you know is false to back up a claim you know you cant justify
its unfortunate
the keyboard hobby is kinda being gutted by people who act like elitist to justify the things they dont understand
enjoy what you have and ill enjoy what I have
I just wont mislead people along the way
I hope youll choose to do the same eventually
<@&750150305383186585> , still calls me dinky
you’re doing it intentionally
what about here… instead of being reasonable and explaining to people why’s a keyboard bad you call them stupid.
no, i want mod to resolve this already, i don’t want you to call me dinky
you’re just gaslighting by saying you’re not doing it intentionally “that you don’t remember”
just as you did with that invite link and you deliting your messages
i want keyboard
i must go back up in size eventually
60 and 65 are both stupid
yeah i came to the conclusion that 60 and 65 are just needlessly compromised for an insignificant downsizing
60% especially
i prefer 60s tbh
not having arrowkeys is silly as fuck
layers my friend
yeah you can use layers but really?? layers for arrowkeys??
you shouldnt need layers for arrowkeys or the function row
just makes it obnoxious to use
thocc got muted
budget?
nooooo i was gonna ask that person for keyboard reccs

im sure they'll answer a message or something. looks like people are salty
i need recommendations for a hotswap TKL board (in-stock, not a group-buy, not backordered) with:
-knob
-insert & delete
USA and $$$ budget
what is $$$
less than $1k
question, only TKL, not 75% or such factors that have function row, arrow keys
oh
cant think of a good tkl with a knob 😦
im open to 75% if it has insert, delete, and a knob
linworks whale 75
switches? heavy, light? tactile?
any keycap profile preference
out of the dozens
i dont think giving someone advice for a 1k keyboard is in your scope of reality
just reading your message history
well i mean im not looking to spend as much as possible lmao
that’s why i don’t give a direct recommendation, also poor argument i didn’t* i’m asking for his preferences
but if there was something that was very obviously better and only a couple hundred more then id be open to it
keychron q3 seems fine tbh
buy it
yeah, it is
if u NEED a knob , keychron is ok
most higher end boards wont have a knob
at least customs
i stopped using my dacamp stack and have been using the apple usb c to 3.5mm dongle, so a knob is convenient for volume control
like every sane person
or buy a macro pad looking thing with a knob on it
only one i can think of right now https://www.pikatea.com/products/the-richard-macropad
The best macropad you can wrap both your hands around. Programmable Macros Program the macropad to activate a series of actions or key presses. We have a list of examples and guides for doing the following with any of our macropads! Control your music with play/pause, seek/skip actions Activate your screenshot tool Sta

i have one
its sick
sorry if this is not allowed mods
but its a real product that i own , with a funny shape
self ad?

proving you own something when providing advice is not advertisement
so you can put whatever u want on it etc
nah dawg i wasnt being serious
and if he was self adding i wouldnt care

gyaddamn this is a girthy knob
LOL
The Long Boi - It's big. Bigger Is Better It's a well known fact that bigger is better with most things in life. This keyboard comes in 2 variants, a 30 inch (762mm) or 7ft-2in (2184mm) size. The 7ft version can be converted to 44 inches (1117mm). It features 2 numpad positions with layout options that you'd expect fr
jack makes cool keyboards
paint it red for launching nukes

is this meta?
no
nope, needs more
@royal patrol anything else you’d like on the keyboard? coloring, software, and such?
@bitter oar I managed to find an appropriately sized brass plate to fill in lucky 65
Got it close to 4.5lbs
Fixed the uneven gain entirely
Made space bar way deeper
Made the other keys slightly deeper but a little more muted (gonna get sa profile keycaps to maybe counteract that)
Bro destroyed that thing
In what way is it destroyed...
If it weighs more and sounds better while feeling better
It's like saying a PC is destroyed if it's overclocked or undervolted just cause it's not stock
@prime mirage would you consider yourself an enthusiast?
It’s painted and almost looks melted
I mean if you like it then great
So why would the idea of putting in more effort to get a much better result in the field you consider yourself an enthusiast not be exciting to you?
Cause the only real loss was a minor decrease in gain for the main letter keys but even there the pitch improved drastically
I’m not even going to argue with you
Or more importantly why does it upset you?
Because I can get not wanting to put in that effort and instead finding it more sensible to just buy a board with a built in weight that already weighs 4.5lbs and maybe has some sort of pre installed custom cut velvet damping or something of the sort
Even if it cost like 10x as much I can see a reasoning behind it more so than I can see wanting to do more difficult mods like this
But I don't see a reason to be upset by people doing that effort
I'm in a lot of hobbies and I've seen people do things I found to not be worth it but I've never been upset about them doing that extra work
I've seen people make separate loops for ram, I've seen people buy cheap rca cables and make their own shielding, I've seen people go sub ambient for locked parts just to push them a little higher, etc
Never made me want to do those things but I find it fascinating and see them as if anything more dedicated in those regards than me
My issue isn’t others putting in work that’s great
Then what is it?
Your spreading misinformation
What info did I spread in general?
That you can use resin to mount a brass plate to a keyboard?
Cause you can see it here
No way to really call it misinfo
I agree
mega stupid

please don't
I bought a linear silent keyboard a week ago and after a week of use still haven't gotten used to it. I type about 10wpm less (with more errors).
The keyboard I type better on is using razer green tactile switches.
Should I just buy tactile silent switches to replace in the new board or keep using it and will I eventually get used to linear?
Does the gateron oil kings pre lube is enough or nah
wym?
The gateron oil king comes pre lubed but do i need to lube it since sometimes factory lubed switchs arent lubed correctly
its probably fine tbh but it depends on how much work youre willing to do
Ig
if you have a few hours to spare hand lubing will probably be better unless you really mess up
i have a gmk 67
How's it sound?
Pangea Full Size Group Buy starts in less than 24 hours!!! LFG bout to get my "endgame" on lol
You should’ve bought a realforce 😔
I will slap u
done building
Looks nice
guess what
$70 USD
for a keyboard with amazing stabilisers and plenty of lube in all switches
its 2.05kg
but replaced the cherry profiles with my xda dye subbed for a deeper thocky sound
Looks meh
Nice
elaborate meh
Used a resin to adhere a brass plate to the center of the board
meanwhile steel
Made the gain chamber more even for larger switches while also making the board sound much deeper
metal kbs ftw
it feels cold haha
I honestly might have to get this board for my fiance's build lol
Seems like really good value
all i can say is the stabs that come stock are as good as a modded stab alr
boring china checklist keyboard
also your keycaps are ugly
Why is everyone in the keyboard hobby seemingly holding a grudge with China?
Like I get there are good and bad Chinese products but emphasis on good "and" bad
Not just bad
because a lot of their bases have almost identical designs to keyboards costing $300-500
I'm chinese with one half of the family living there lil bro
and also they hate flex cut pcbs
they get what they get
If an argument against a board boils down to it being Chinese though it probably falls more into that good category
and the reality that u see is that
Aula Yuunzi
Royal Kludge
they prob all came from the same factory
but tbh
i prefer those boards over an expensive mongeeks/akko kb
I just hate when people blindly hate on a product cause Chinese
Rather than saying what's bad about it if anything
i hate that people advertise a board that is shit without any mods
Akko keyboards are just that ngl
Same with keychron imo
akko all u have is like 3 layers of dampening
Tbh, even lucky 65 isn't good without mods imo
buit the cheap akkos cant beat a cheap china prebuilt
like the 5075B+
I would gladly take a pc akko over a hi75 or sth similar
thats one of akkosd worst prebuilts
the rattle of the stabs are crazy
but acr series and spr series is nice
their alu ones are quite shit tho, a lot of ping and sounds weird
so basically if people want a budget kb, theyre better off looking at aliexpress over an akko budget
eh the acr series is pretty nice and its not expensive
only issue is north facing pcb
their monsgeek ones are also decent I guess, pingy but at least they provide materials for force break
but for the price u pay
some of the chinese boards have better dampening layers
compared to the ACR

can anyone here recommend me a good keyboard for 150-200$?

its first resault on google
for fucks sake
<@&750150305383186585> please deal with this troll
sad that they dont make them anymore
if you can't help , don't ping me and waste my time
apple alps boards better
you aren't entitled to anything just because you asked lil bro
also you should buy a realforce
my pleasure
Is this the right place to ask about mice? 🙂 Anyone knows if there are vertical gaming mice out there? I'm so used to my Logitech Lift, that when trying to game with a normal mouse, it suuuuuucks 😄
What's the point in just being a douche to the guy for just asking for advice...
I haven't heard of any vertical gaming mice before
aside from a couple pen grip prototype mice than can technically be used for gaming
just make one ez/j
Well, there are quite a few on amazon, but it's all the weird brands (though there is a Trust brand one, idk how decent that would be)
I'd be concerned about the weight on those, as they seem like they would be rather heavy
trust mice are really bad
i've had couple, the paint eventually chips off, the sensors they use are shit, i've had bugs with them randomly switching vertical and horizontal movement during usage
😄
yeah i kind'a figured
might have to find a decent gaming mouse that fits me ergonomically
was this comment really necessary?
I'm complimenting you tf?
is it though? or are you being ironical for me buying the shit

fair, mb

Question
I’ve been wanting to display my old keyboard on a wall
If I plug it into a USB wall plug will the lights come on?
Or is this
A bad thing to do
It might depend on the keyboard but probably yes
It definitely wont harm anything, it just depends on the software, but if its anything normal the lights should work yeahj
not bad
5 word test?
lmao
Has anybody ever had an out-of-warranty Corsair K95 serviced? Mine needs some fixing... Not sure if it's worth the price.
did a copper foil mod to the space bar to fix its sound
