And anti enthusiast
same with this server , i would not take advice from most people here
My issue with the keyboard community is a lot of people become elitist about the most mainstream of advice and parts
a lot of clowns in this hobby
Being elitist in general is cringe
But if you're going to be elitist at least put effort in
I agree
keyboard thats a captouch embedded in the table with haptic feedback
I'm a noob still but it feels like common sense isn't a thing in much of the hobby. I don't claim to have special knowledge or knowledge enough to make recs confidently but I do know the basics of how reality works which is lacking in a lot of the mainstream advice
yes
oof
Exactly
Bro went from being a expert who can tell people who know what there talking about that they are wrong to a “noob”
Yikes
Not knowing is completely fine but telling others they are wrong when you just don’t understand something is not okay
Everyone starts not knowing until they learn
Yeah
Only thing switches matter for in cheap boards is clicky linear or tactile lol
Yeah
Which is all feel
Key feel is a big part of mech keyboards and that's the switch too
If you have a cheapo board but your main concern off that bat is key feel then I'd say the switches do matter, that's all.
Now for more expensive boards yes switches change the sound
Yeah
Agreed
Just ignore this guy
Sound is barely down the the switch yeah
Apparently him and jonna run around in servers being idiots
Ignore him and he’ll go away
Wait what
Biooc
Notice how when biooc was around spewing shit he didn’t say anything lol
Like I said I don’t mind if someone just dosent know that’s all good but when you go around shit talking people saying they don’t know what there talking about when you don’t that’s the issue
Oh
framework has no ortholinear option, buuuuut what if it did have a giant capacitive multitouch screen with a configurable layout in place of a keyboard instead? give it haptic feedback and its like typing on a tablet maybe?
Dell tried with the new xps
It’s not good lol
Speaking of framework tho
They need to come out with a glass oled display option
Straight up instabuy
shame, guess back to the drawing board
the lower profile stuff sounds like a pain to source
It’s just not really possible make a nice feeling keyboard without any travel imo
idc how it works i just want an ortho keyboard in a laptop
and not the mnt reform, shits wack
tacts kinda seem like a bad option long term
can you 3d print scissors
and use uhhh
salvage domes?
I shit talk ek
that's pretty much it
ek sucks now
overpriced slop
chinese watercooling companies fuck them
I keep looking at keyboards and getting pulled back to my Model F lol
i should find a nice keyboard to settle down with
HHKB at work to be quiet and Model F at home where I can make noise
oops wrong serger
No, I'm just not a superg who tells people nothing matters in a keyboard and refuses to give advice then flips out when someone asks for more details about what someone wants in a keyboard
Literally not even giving advice
Just asking what they're looking for in the keyboard btw

No, I went from someone with common sense who can inquire more into what someone wants when another person who isn't an expert gives terrible advice tells them nothing matters to someone with common sense still
Where did I demonstrate a lack of common sense?
Like unironically
I can explain where the other person did
But where did I give advice or show a lack of common sense
rare model f user
Mmmhmm
no judgement 😔
The key feel is heavenly. Sound is an acquired taste
sounds "worse" than the model m but feels so much better
I personally like the sound even better but that is definitely very subjective
yeah
everything you say
Like?
Also, why are you so pressed over me saying some random reddit or gives trash advice?
For anyone curious the person he's pressed over claims switches don't change sound, lubing doesn't change sound, threw a tantrum over me hand lubing switches, thinks adding damping is bad, and blew up over me asking someone what type of sound or feel they're going for in their keyboard instead of blind firing some keychron cherry mx switch mainstream non-advice.
why everyone beefing in the keyboard discord
first dinky now you
just
talk about keyboard
thank u
closed minded server, also why ya join this server just to harrass other people that have different opinion. Arguing with y’all is pointless because even if you prove a point, you just ignore it, or discredit it by calling the other side stupid without actually breaking down the point.
you just joinned this server because someone from the kbd server told you to do so
the date of joinning matches as well, very similar attude to other people from the keyboard server.
i never knw kbd had a server 😭
I cannot obviously prove it lol, but too good of a coincidence
are you sure you're talking to the same guy dude
you're saying im harrassing you but you're accusing me of harrassment without concrete evidence
i've NEVER been part of a keyboard discord outside of this one
you’re harrassing me by discrediting me, you called me “ first dinky now you”
in my defense i didnt remember your usename
discrediting? what did i credit you for in the first place
then what’s the dinky about? biooc has similar opinions to mine, he wasn’t completely right or wrong but
both of us got banned for little to no reason from the server

okay, then what’s the dinky about?
i didnt remember your username mb
i aint saying a third time
oh then that’s fine
not related
yeah, kbd is not related to actual kbd

now, i’m confused wym you by dinky then like you didn’t remember my name or someone else…
right
i dont get what you're not understanding
i didnt remember your username
however
i did remember thocctober referring to you as "dinky"
and it stuck because i found it funny
thus i referred to you as the only way as i remembered
oh, you meant biooc’s arguing after other called him out or biooc’s opinions as being beefing
no because he clearly used the terms "pressed over me" and i think we both know that you cant be pressed without it being an argument of sorts
welp, sorry I assumed wrongly.
thank you
I thought you were on their side so you called me dinky as to… well it doesn’t matter now
i’m just sad they never let me get a point even if it’s right, thocctober once got himself say that discord extensions don’t break tos as an example because he was constantly trying to discredit me either directly or just calling me stupid, when I asked him why? he refused to answer almost always and said the convo is over or something.
for example
look man
im tryna play tf2
if someones annoying you
or u got beef with someone
sort it
because its 2 am and im tryna game
yes, I know not being liked on the internet is part of it but when the other person straight up refuses to resolve anything and just continues purposefully to spread out of context screenshots of my messages as a funny and explains how dum a’m who’d not try to not resolve that…
anyways enjoy the game
ty
got my first mech keyboard, RK61 for 40% off. any tips or things i should know as a new owner? like how to clean it, which keycaps to get, and what are the differnce of switches besides sound based on experience
are you willing to do any mods?
might consider changing the keycaps
I meant like filling the keyboard with stuff or tape mod
well my brother tried doing it and fried his board
which tape did he use?
may have been conductive
he used elecrical
weird
probably static if he didn’t handle the pcb properly, shocked it
well, if you’re too scared to mod the keyboard internally first thing i’d recommend is lubing the stabilizers if they’re rattly
im using a tactile brown switch
if they’re not particularly scratchy keep them
or sound bad
or you don’t like them
do keycaps change the sound when typing?
yes
based on that you have rk61 which is a cheap board you’d like some cheap thicker keycaps
you want a deeper sound? less vibrant
no name or barely branded keycaps from amazon or aliexpress are fine
there are alot of different profiles too
prob deeper cause right now they kinda sound like legos or close to that
oh yea they last longer than abs plastic
they don’t get shiny as quickly yes, it also depends on quality of the abs plastic, if it’s good quality it’ll last longer than some $5 office keyboard keycaps but it will eventually get shiny from use faster than pbt anyway
so, yes they do last longer.
also one last question how to clean keycaps while preserving its quality?
just don’t use something that could eat up the plastic or dye
it’s fine aslong you don’t soak them for too long
it may wash out the dying tho a little
i think thats all, thanks
soap works too
hand soap or dishwashing soap
both pretty much
even just tape water if you’re just cleaning the keycaps from dust, dirt or such
but that’ll not clean the grease if you’re using the keyboard with cheetos fingers
doesn’t matter
also, don’t rub plastic if it turns shiny, it’s permanent you can’t pretty much do anything about that
which keycaps?
ohh those clone looking ones, I was considering buying the caramel ones
looks good.
Now I'm happy
I found an Akko 3068B+ with 88 keycaps but no switches that's going for $30 USD. It was used for over a year, so should I get it?
Minor scratches on the sides because he was trying to open the board
Is what he said
How important did you want a knob?
It's really useful since I use the current volume buttons on my board a lot
And I mean a l o t
How are gateron milky yellow switches
Are they thocky enough?
great if lubed
So I've got to lube them right
but you'll need to spend the time to lube em yea
Should I get a shop to do it for me
Thock depends more on the board than the switches IMO
Is the 3068b+ good then? 💀
I can sacrifice the knob if the board is good
Since I'm getting the whole thing for less than $50
I can spend more for the barebones board if it has a knob since my budget is around $70
But I can't even find a barebones board that has a knob
Theres a GMMK Pro board that's going for $180
Um nexgen
@elder owl
GPBT KEYCAPS ARCTIC WHITE + Gateron Milky Yellow Black Bottom Pro Linear Switch(around 80pcs) + Gateron White Switch(36pcs) + Gateron Red (4pcs) + (10 PCs) green switch linear
- AJAZZ Pudding Black Keycaps Matte Feel 108 Full Key Two-Color/Two-Color PBT Transparent Keycaps PBT
All of this for $55
gmmk pro not worth
Should I do it
Ik
Should I get these though
I don't like the look of either set, but if you do then by all means
Nono like I'm going to be getting all of that for just $55
Milky Yellow Pro comes prelubed. Not the greatest lube job but it's serviceable
Is it worth it
completely up to you
Like is it a W orrr
if it's just for the switches absolutely not
if you like one of the keycap sets, then it becomes finne
No it's for all of them
Everything in the list
nono I meant like
if you don't like either of the keycap sets, then 55 dollars for the switches is not worth it
Ohhh
if you like either of the keycap sets, then 55 dollars for the entire bundle is fine
The transparent ones look ugly imo
Gotta check that arctic thing
the glorious one looks nice but
im not too sure if I should spend that much for used items
is it that bad?
the keycaps
oh
so I guess I shouldnt get it then
because he wont sell any of those things individually
and hows the akko 3068b+ board I found
do I get the Akko keyboard (no switches) + the 88 keycaps + the box incl. all the accessories (used for over a year with minor scratches on the sides of the casing)
or do I wait around a month for a new keyboard to come out
or do I just get the Ajazz AK820 Max with Avocado Switches
you should save a few months and buy a realforce
Generally you'll find the more mainstream something is will be the more overpriced it is
It's probably still just normal pbt or abs keycaps or normal thickness but I would wager they are overpriced still for what they are
You'll find the same thing with most fields
In PC space you'll notice Asus and Nvidia stuff tends to be overpriced because you're paying for the name for example
In audio space you'll notice bose and Harman kardon stuff will be overpriced because the name
In car space you'll notice Mercedes and BMW are almost always overpriced for what they are
Inb4 @prime mirage flips out and insists all those companies are actually the best just to disagree
What
The problem isn't the money (it is), the problem is the availability
Well yes but
Like I said
That's a bundle thing
$55 for the 2 sets of keycaps and all those switches
where do you live
Bangladesh
Haven't used their switches but unless the caps I'd say definitely weigh the value largely on how much you like the look and ergonomics of the, because they probably aren't particularly high quality relative to cheaper options
Can't tell you a thing about their switches though
DYK any other good thocky or creamy switches under 30 bdt each
Because if I do get the ajazz ak820 max, I might have to change the switches
Same goes for the ak870
This uses ajazz's avocado switches
They sound amazing irl but from the reviews I've heard, people are saying they don't sound that good
ok thats fair 💀
do yall think i can get pbt keycaps off temu for dirt cheap
theyre for an ajazz ak820 btw
tbh i wanted to problem is the shipping time
Both will be shipping from China
And if the company is buying a us warehouse you're probably not getting a good deal on that item
They use the same shipping
fr?
thats weird ig i got unlucky that one time on aliexpress
r the ali express ones any good
okok should be soon
or wait for the black version of the 870 with the display to come in stock
doesnt the ak820 pro come witha display
lmk if the software and the quality are good or not
yes but I heard the max's build is a bit better and the display has a higher pixel density
i might not be able to test the software bcuz im on vacation but ill let you know sbt the quality
mhmm okok
aight aight tysm
yw if i dont remember to update u remind me
with nvidia you pay for working drivers
a pair of 3x5 ortho pads would go hard
anyone have any recommendations for a solid 75% KB? My Logitech G613 from 2019 is finally starting to bite the bullet. I want to upgrade while also downsizing.
womier sk75 from aliexpress for 90 bucks
why do people recommend keychron v3 so often
it costs about the same as lucky65 which i found out about with minimal research. there are probably even better options for even cheaper relative to even that
i have a Portronics Hydra 10 how can i make it perfect?
Should I get the Infi75 Lite
IDK much about about that keyboard sorry
Ah it's aight
Can you check the sound and then
Like lmk what you think about it
very good board
my infi 75 is still one of the best plastic board I have tried
besides things like filco and hhkb
Uh
That depends
Rainbow six siege, Forza but thats not on the kb, Minecraft, sometimes cod
Is that better than this
Akko silver switches or sum
And akko "asa bow" switches
what is this
Lemme check the name rq
Akko 007
Used for 7 months
I think that's the name
A lot of stuff that I don't understand
It's the lite version btw
Used for 2-3 months with just a tape mod
afaik the only difference is the screen, and I personally hate the screen because less keys
No warranty and it's just $75
Ohh
Is the RGB and knob good
And why's there a protective sticker above the knob?
knob is alright I guess, bit wobbly but works
its glossy
Aohh
Ohh*
I'm not sure if I want to go for the Ak870 or this though
I sort of want a display mainly because of the ability to use gifs
But the seller told me this sounds way better
And hows the build of the board
you wouldnt look at the screen (I got 3 boards with screens)
Solid or too much flex?
Oh
Well it's for every now and then
and infi75 clears 90% of budget boards out there (my preference)
And also because it shows the battery
Is it thocky or creamy?
depends, with case foam the gasket is not soft but after removing it the gasket is quite soft
go listen to sound tests, mine uses a different switch
What's better?
Ohh
I want thock but not too loud like a blue switch
The first and last time I used it was when I got my first board
Alright
o
do you guys know a good budget keyboard????
fair point
I love membrane keyboards
So real
I quite like my keychron and is also affordable with all the necessary features
alr
I was looking for a keyboard to get cause I'm useing a hyperx alloy keyboard
It has a PC plate so do I need to change that?
And is there any way I can change the frame to black?
It's white rn
keep it
what frame
The main kb
And the stock keycaps don't really allow the RGB to shine through
there is a black version
shine through keycaps are shit
Well imo if I'm paying 6.5k for a kb (6.5k in my country), I'd want at least some kind of RGB)
I'm new to keyboards so I don't thinks going to be happening anytime soon 💀
it has rgb, just backlight
not shinethrough
even the sho?
Which one?
I was gonna get a keychron
K8 Proi
damn
It's a nice keyboard, just not too fond of south facing rgb but it's a minor details
The $109 version has RGB and is hotswap
Zamn
Should I get the Infi75 or Attack Shark X85 Pro
^
Assembling the hot-swappable M75pro is very easy. Thanks to 5-pin modular PCB, this Barebone Keyboard is compatible with most 3-pin and 5-pin hot swap mechanical switches. The standard ANSI 87 keys layout is widely compatible with 3rd party mechanical keycaps and even sculpted keycaps in the curr...
I Have an Asus TUF K7 keyboard and have had it for a couple of years, i like it but i dont know whether or not i can hotswap the keycaps or not, like its hard to find actual official info on it and i feel like its a somewhat niche keyboard so its difficult to find info on it
where am i supposed to buy a keyboard DIY kit?
wassup
oh
uh
i think thats an os thing
have you tried replugging?'
whered you get the firmware?
you compiling yourself?
might just be line 28/29
get rid of the negates?
wait wut
how
just delete the !
on the caps lock line
idk why/how its wonking out like that
Are you guys gonna continuously spam this shit anytime anyone mentions RK?
it’s clearly an issue with the RK61 specifically lmfao
and the rk68
word
I was trying to flash my GMMK pro barebones with QMK, all the videos showed GMMK/pro but that’s no longer an option. It only gives me an option for rev1 or rev2. Could someone give me an insight on how to verify which version I’d need?
Why is it underwater
why
no dishwasher?
That would destroy the lubricant
Also i have hard water so it would leave scale behind
I cba to desolder all the switches
It was already destroyed in my mind anyway, i just wanted to try this
hello everyone, i recently bought Redragon K617 fizz 60% keyboard [ https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09JSZYKYR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details ] > so what i want to do is i want to reprogram my [ alt,fn,key right to it & page down ] keys as my arrow keys , but i don't to reprogram it permanently i only want at certain time or in some particular situations > so is there any ways i could set a where i could set a macro which when i press it changes the layout of the keyboard and changes the above motioned keys as arrow keys > and when i press that arrow key again it resets the keyboard to default
thank you for your time 💗😊
anyone able to recommend a mouse like the mx master but with better polling rate?
For some reason I get a lot of lag when using it with my mac with the dongle or via BT. It cuts out pretty often as well.
I just need it to have USB C charging and decent battery life
2.4GHz (dongle)
Bluetooth
USB Wired
yeah I only found like 2 mice
Fantech Helios II Pro but its too small
i misread your post
i thought you were asking what trimode was lol
^
Pulsar is super nice
perhaps if u use like a mac book or some shit like that?
wait no
ipad
thats the name
i think u can use a mouse on ipads now?
idk
i mean id use a bt mouse if it can do wired AND was open hardware
but thats kinda like
2.4ghz is just better
yeah it is, but the best open hardware solution to mouse is bluetooth afaik
altoids tins go hard
Whats a good under 75 USD keyboard with a knob and TKL size? Preferably with good software
Also preferably low profile if possible, I tried looking in rtings but I didn't find a good chouce
what he said
I 3rd that
I 4th that
I 5th that
What about a kb that is backlit, is quiet, has arrow keys but is small and is fast (in latency terms for gaming)? I don't care about cost but cant seem to find something that ticks all boxes
Realforce gx1
Anyone got a suggestion for a low profile 2.4 hotswap keeb.
Layout is flexible im open to either 65 75 TKL
Been looking into Razer Deathstalker v2 pro tkl. which fits my criteria but has terrible reviews about connectivity and bloatware.
Current choices are Nuphy Air 75
Prebuilts preferred, but board is welcome too.
Budget: below 150 for the whole thing
Q: What about bluetooth
A: I already have a keychron K1 TKL
Q: Why not normal profile
A: Looking to bringing it everywhere, and i already have keychron and asus azoth
magi65
looks good, does the FN + Number row combine into F keys
i assume so
yes
so nuphy and magi65 are the choices
hhkb is better
any good for gaming?
i really like the look of it
no
Coz if I am at home I want a nice smooth experience. But if I am out the house I just need a mouse
yes it'll work fine
yeah but BT and 2.4 would be great
My Mac doesnt have a USB A port and i dont like dongles so BT is the only option
buy dongle for your mac
but that requires a port to be used and I like the clean aesthetic
I currently use Outimu ice light pink 62g, and I really like them but I'm curious what else is out there. I use my keyboards mostly gaming but still prefer tactile switches.
Currently I'm considering
Gateron Baby kangaroo 2.0
TTC Bluish white
Akko V3 cream blue Pro
Razer Orange Gen 3
I also considered the newer HperX box tactile switches but cant find any reviews of them.
Does anyone have experience with multiple of the switches above? Or does anyone know what website where I can buy individual (1s and 2s) of switches so I can test them out?
I currently have a modded gmmk pro, I but i might get a lemokey p1 pro
I actually have about 100$ but with international shipping (floating around 10-20 + tax)
Rn I have some redragon keyboard but it's terrible ngl battery drains fast, delay is high full size
womier sk75 at $80-90 but doesn’t have knob, leobog hi75 or such
chinesium cnc keyboards
Alrighty good talk
Jesus a guy who got muted in an entirely unrelated server pinged me here and was too pathetic to even leave it up 🙄
A revision server 😭
Or “study server” as I’ve run into a few people who have no idea that revision is the same thing
yeah... seen those a few times... Not really liking them, they look cheap even though they cost bank (but I do love their key feel). There must be other options right?
where has the latency been tested? And does pressing one key cancel the other? Like see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Feny5bs2JCg The way keys activate can make a huge difference to gaming.

the leds r nice im not sure if there r doff colors i dont think so il check the software when i get access tho

Looking to buy myself a new keyboard with mechanical switches that aren't super loud. Any recommendations on switch types?
I read up a bit on this and it seems black and red (silent) are the quietest
topre
silent topre
I am using topre (HHKB Pro JP) right now and they are still too loud for an office.
Skill issue
black/red switches nowadays are like your "normie" switches
also
silent switches often have an rubber stopper at the end of each stroke that you may or may not like
it feels like a slightly less mushy rubber dome switch
for silent tactiles*
Don't want anything super loud that wakes up the entire house when I am up at past midnight downstairs
just avoid clickies and you're probably fine
I got a keyboard with silvers
MX Speed
Are they too loud?
I heard they are much more responsive compared to red
They are, I hate them
Video I found online showed they're about the same loudness as Reds
most linear switches are about the same loudness as other linear switches - the case matters more than the switches
So long as my keyboard doesn't sound like a typewriter, I don't care
the only exception is when it's a silent switch
which have the rubber endings
I'll disassemble one rn just to show hold up
The same video I watched showed the Red silents and they just sound souless
K welp I can't find my switch opener
The MX speeds have a shorter actuation level, which should make them still pretty quiet and super responsive. Which is what I am looking for
here's one of the silent linears I have
not my picture
but notice the clear rubber pieces
Yep, I saw that in the diagram I found
yea those are silent switches and they're very quiet
I think Silver should work fine for me
I do a lot of typing and don't slam on my keyboard
wait do you already have the speed silvers?
Ohhhhhhhhhhh
ok well first uh
what was your budget for a board?
I lowkey don't like speed silvers at all
I don't really want to build one
I don't do that, so I should be fine
What was your budget?
Like 100 bucks
I did find one, I liked the Corsair K70 I found. Has media buttons too and a volume slider
It's on clearance too I think
I literally have beef with that board lmao
it's so rattly
with some modding it becomes usable
Eh, makes no difference to me. I wear headphones normally, I just don't need my new keyboard obnoxious. LOL
Yeah I know about that kind of stuff, I watched some keyboard Youtubers before
I'm not super critical over that kind of stuff
My typing style is weird, I don't type with the normal hand positions you're supposed to use
I don't either
I use every finger on my left hand, but seldom my right ring or pinky
form just helps you type faster, it doesn't neccesarily mean you'll type faster with it
Thanks for the insight tho, I will keep it in mind for when I decide to get a new keyboard later on
I just want something to replace this crumb and hair infested keyboard. LOL
Sure I could clean it out, but it's like 10+ years old and probably time to replace
speed silvers feel a little outdated for their original purpose of being for gaming since analog switches have proven their capabilities with features like snap tap—even if valve did decide to crack down on use of it in CS2
but if you just want something quiet they should be fine
noise can come from more than just the switches tho—the board's acoustics are important too
ideally whatever you pick should have layers of sound-dampening foam and good pre-lubed stabilizers
All can be avoided with a realforce
im thinking to myself which keyboard to buy
wooting he60+
or steelseries apex pro tkl
because in the first hand the wooting he60+ having better settings for lower response times and have better features
and the other hand i know that the apex pro tkl is tkl and not 60% and have much better build quality, and also wireless connection
what do you suggest me to buy?
and if the apex pro have same input delay if im using wireless and not wired
if you're worrying about response times would wireless be used?
quite
and also if the wooting vs apex response times and feature is a big difference
like if i will feel a huge difference
btw both of them will be the same price because of a sale that i got
How moddable is the apex pro?
I know the 60HE uses a standard 60% layout so can be modded heavily
I will eventually mod mine lol
actually i think the keyboard is moddable
you think that i should mod a top teir keyboard?
I mean this is #peripherals
what?
90% of flagship stock keyboards still sound ass
but im talking about the quality and input delay more
It would be an indistinguishable difference without tools to measure it
Check optimums video
Which one?
Btw maybe you have better suggestion for a keyboard? Because some people that say that the analog keyboards are better (and also the wooting is analog but people say that there are better analog keyboards)
The problem is that I don’t really like 60%
So I’m thinking if there is a big performance boost for a 60% keyboard
Or I would go to the tkl ones
Literally 99.9% of the shit only matters if you’re a top 0.1% player
So the difference isn’t huge
And if it will be
I would be with enough money from esports to get one
Or sponsors😛
not the shill again
I actually don’t even really care for dude, he just makes informative videos
I felt alot of the time he shills gaming companies to a point I believe he is paid by steelseries
like not actually "his words"
or maybe he's just too enthusiastic to consider other stuff idk
Idk
it's really weird how the wooting 60HE is such an all-around great gaming keyboard and then it just is available in a keyboard layout most people don't like.
they are working on an 80HE, right?
...ah right, release is in october
THE PRICE 230$ with shipping
for the most standart one
and i heard that the parts quality are quite low
im actually thinking about if i will buy that keyboard or the Steelseries apex pro tkl
but idk
still trying to decide
i have a feeling the 80HE is gonna be better built than the apex pro TKL
non standard layout
gib standardized tkl case pls
hey guys does someone know a good full size mechanical keyboard for 50 usd max on amazon?
buy 80he over 60he because it is coming with better stock switches
less hosuing and stem wobble
i got tired of stem wobble on my two HE and ended up doing franken switches with some raptor housing and lekker stems
supposedly they solved that on 80he
they should have done either TKL or 75%
this is just weird
it's kinda funny
Well I mean they were gonna do something different and then everyone freaked out and told them to change it
i like this
nvm i misremembered
But anyways I’ve been holding off on modding my 60HE just in case someone decides they wanna trade their 80HE for a 60HE when they release lol
I like my 60HE, but I think I’d like the 80HE layout more
60HE was very popular cause u could put the PCB in so many different cases
they threw that out the window with the ''80''He
i am eager to get a wooting board, i like my 60% but having separate f keys would be quite handy
it will also be equally as nice to not have to deal with steelseries gg anymore
So if I will wait it will be good you say
And I saw that in the video the gave the 80+ more things to lower reaction time and latency
the only thing the 80 has for 'better' reaction time and latency is a higher polling rate but its a ~1ms difference between two he/60he/80he
all 3 blow away any custom for response time except for some rare 8000hz pcbs with good debounce firmware
and id worry about monitors before keyboards for latency either way unless its some dogshit bluetooth board with 25ms+ like some keychrons
probably hard to even see a difference in keyboard response times if you use a 60hz display since the frametime is >16ms which is worse than even a 125hz board with bad debounce algo
gamers are weird
nkro testing
hello everyone, i recently bought Redragon K617 fizz 60% keyboard [ https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09JSZYKYR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details ] > so what i want to do is i want to reprogram my [ alt,fn,key right to it & page down ] keys as my arrow keys , but i don't to reprogram it permanently i only want at certain time or in some particular situations > so is there any ways i could set a where i could set a macro which when i press it changes the layout of the keyboard and changes the above motioned keys as arrow keys > and when i press that arrow key again it resets the keyboard to default
Got a new keycaps set from AliExpress and it's notably thick and heavy
The set that came with the royalaxe ironically sounds better besides the space bar though imo
Just because they are taller which seems to give it more of that pop sound and less of a high pitched typewriter like click
So, i'm using this keybaord
and i've noticed that if i hold w and spacebar, I can't click 4
it just doesn't register
but all other keys do
model?
guys, about the wooting 60he+, can i remove the switches so i can lube the keeb even it is a pre built??
yes
i bought epomaker th80 but the switches always fail me sucks i was recommended this kb a lot i am sad
I bought the Blackwidow Pro V4 from razer cause I liked the layout and thought about swapping out the switches and keycaps for something else (just starting down the mechanical keyboard rabbit warren) and thought this would be a slightly cheaper way to dip my toe into the waters. ||man, I'm mixing analogies|| But the switches don't seem to want to come out. Are they glued in? The site doesn't say if they are soldered on and they appear to be hot swappable, but I don't know how to tell from the top.
it doesn't sound hot swappable if it didn't say anywhere
Is hot swappable contingent on the pcb or the switch?
So looking at the switches doesn't give any hint of the pcb?
So I would have to gamble that the stupid rubber feet would go back on or just take the disappointment back?
it's... probably not hotswap
sigh
you arent pulling hard enough or arent using the keycap tool
The EVGA keyboard I have, they come right out. The Razer must be soldered. Gonna take that one back to Best Buy and eat the restock fee. I might have found something else that's better.
Razer huntsman v2 analog with half razer and half corsair caps @cursive mirage
Yeah, I think the Blackwidow V4 is soldered
Now I'm looking at the Glacier Skyloong GK104 pro
I'm weird. I use the num pad
the pro is iirc the non pro isn’t
yeah, that doesn’t make sense but razer doesn’t either
at that price you can get aluminum keyboard.
Well, I'm looking at this one now.
is it made from metal?
if not then i’d pass
you can get one from aluminum at that price
unless you need the three knobs
and a screen and that digital thing
It says abs. But most I've seen are tkl
do you really need three knobs? does the keyboard have via/qmk?
you can also just buy additional numpad later on
via/qmk?
Also my "desk" is my recliner.
The glacier has three connection options.
damn those corsair "keyboards" with optical mechanical switches should be banned form being sold as anything other as a gamecontroller , as typing defenetly is not possible on them , gave this one 3 weeks now and still shi*t
the technology sounds good ... if they actually did it right and not have the keys engage by tapping the key next to it
yeah, prob the best software for keyboards
imo any custom keyboard above 100 should have it when other do
It says it's customizable, but not how on the site.
Would that be a question worth emailing them about?
qmk havent had one of those .. maybe i should look into it, but the hz is of little consequence to me,... (the one i have now is 1khz polling yes , but dont see the advantage of it when coding 🙂
wym?
mostly thinking about this
welp, if google shows nothing it probably doesn’t have qmk/via but if you’re not keymapping stuff or such
mhmm, unsure if qmk is limited to 1khz, but i don’t think that even matters all that much
1khz is still 1ms which is… very fast
yeah makes sense
yes, 8khz polling rate is faster but, polling rate isn’t the whole story with latency
you can have a 1khz keyboard faster if the 8khz one has shitty implementation
for some reason…
i mean if you’re for the numbers then ig? yes that could be a point. but you could say you could gain that back by not having cold hands while gaming or such
or i don’t really know 1ms is just nothing if you ask me, it’s not going to win you a battle
i’d really just say model to model rather than looking just at the pr
idk what that means
keep seeing talk about the 8khz stuff and wanted to be sure, though that might just be the same guy saying it again and again, idk , idr who says what
love me a good zmk ble board :3
i wonder if i could get an FM board
Looking around, most of the full size keyboards I could find around the 140 mark were abs. The aluminum ones were 200+ I have tweaked the attached cord on my EVGA a couple times, and it drops every once and a while. It's not wireless capable. It also came with my gpu that I got during scalpgate.
The blaxkor dude unironically seems to know what he’s talking about
You can just ignore dinky though
Anything technical and he just falls apart
im not a technical player
not a fan of rhythm games neither
would it even affect me that much to be using qmk and the like
No lol
hm
I just stink at all the basic Minecraft skills, so a super fast polling rate isn't exactly important.
i dont get why its so important to people, probably me not being skilled enough to understand tho
I'm mainly looking for something I can customize in the future without costing an arm and a leg to start. I also use the num pad, so my options are rather limited.
Cope, higher number better among others
I’m talking about why it’s so important to some
oh
im too tired to parse rn
and hungry
i need to order pizza
to test this hot sauce on
anyone seen the 2350 specs?
or at least
the datasheet
To meet the above requirements, Raspberry Pi have worked with Abracon to create a custom 2.0×1.6mm 3.3μH polarity-marked inductor
like
im sticking with 2040
or maybe ill try stm32-brand stuff
custom inductor for a single chip >.>
grumbles
risc-v keyboard would also be funny
Starting to plan a new project. I want to go for 96% or 1800 south paw, and I’d like to do better than keychron, but all the southpaw boards I find are short runs that are no longer in production. Does anyone know of a hidden gem I’m missing?
i like how you’re still mad at me even after couple of months, what did i say wrong again?
Why would I be mad at you bruh
also, i already said i don’t want to be called dinky <@&750150305383186585>
oh, then why the “don’t listen to me” occasionally type of messages towards me whenever i say something
uh be specific what did i say wrong?
instead of saying just i said something stupid
without pointing it out and dodging any sort of answering thr question i asked
Mimimimimi
you’re just getting ridicilous holding a grudge againt people that have different opinion than you, i wonder how you actually doing inrl
yet you still spend months of waiting til i say something so you can respond back
i’m not really the only that hates you well, rather this chat, people come here to get a keyboard recommendation and you guys nuke them with over their budget or something they didn’t ask meme
tell them to ration up their money like wtf?
you don’t realize how rude is that
then you guys tell them to get a used one from japan, but you guys also said before that someone may not want to order from taobao or aliexpress the same thing basicly, it’s sort of hypocritical argument just to disagree with me.
japan and china are different countries though
i will mention this again but thocctober found himself recommending/saying something that’s agaisnt tos isn’t when i said that it was because he just wanted to disagree ig
hmmm, interesting
true but both are international stuff, and returning the things would be prob equally as hard
in case something goes wrong
i’m not saying topre is bad, i personally don’t like it but these guys clearly got mad when i said that they sound mushy
it’s not like the typing feel is some kind of magic, yes i would definitely get it over some generic gaming keyboard
but all things considered i’d just not (personally)
and these guys clearly got mad about that i called them mediocre. i fucking tried topre boards at my friend’s house that had like dozen of keyboard (pretty much 5x than i ever had in total)
even with headphones you can’t overwrite someone’s preference if they just like headphone X but, the question is if they would not be used to that pair, there are so many factors when it comes to sound
i know i’m comparing apples to pears but ig
Well, you see, to do that would require that there exists better southpaw boards to buy. Can’t really go about buying something that doesn’t exist ffs
For it to be a niche there would have to actually exist some accessible southpaw boards lol as of rn there really aren’t. Which is wild
No
oh you want all the buttons
was gonna suggest a thing but nvm
would need to cut at least the frow
You should buy a fc980c
A ReLyra?
uh gh60 compatible southpaw idk
Are you having a stroke? That’s not southpaw
yea but its realforce so thats all he'll recc
That doesn’t have a numpad
not unless you diy it
15u wide is plenty
well, ig maybe have to cut a liiitle bit more than frow
would be a jank nav
iunno ive got design on the mind
Please inform me where you intend on stuffing a num-pad
in the middle
that’s not southpaw. If I wanted to use layers I’d just do that with my current board
Yes but there must exist the switches to make a numpad. I can not just magically grow a whole section of keebs
you only need like 10 width for most keys anyways
leaves 5u for a numpad
3u if you use 1u keys
Leave 5u how
leaves space for nav
I swear to fuck if you say just don’t have the buttons that are supposed to be there imma have an aneurysm
You do
I need them accessible 100% of the time for actual productivity not just gaming.
mean
So 96% or 1800
stretching and contortions doesnt sound productive anyways
1ufh
i can see the case for numpad bc data entry
welp this was unproductive. I'll never post real questions here again lol
look i just speak for my sphere of knowledge
CAD
yea?
i guess im more a typist than a productive member of society, so sorry
CAD on 40s is fine fwiw
but thats just my workflow
or something
Yes it’s doable, but I’d like a numpad so I can have everything just available to me
I have the deskspace
yeah numpad is cool
frow and numrow are on my shit list tho
actually only half of numrow
It blows my mind that southpaw doesn’t catch on
its like a left handed mouse
It isn’t tho.
Right handed people gain utility out of a southpaw keyboard
oh yeah because no one makes one an ambipaw keyboard
Do you mind used keyboards?
I believe there’s that one board that had like switchable modules
If it’s in good condition, not really
theres been a couple RoG keebs with detachable numpads like that
and mountain too
Yea I’m not getting a RoG keyboard 🤣
there's been a slew of southpaw numpad boards in the past few years
I have found 2.5 that are still in production
10kl being the problem
I have an ext65, but I never use it lol
is there an issue with getting a matching numpad? is it the extra cableage or what
actually its probably aesthetic reason for one or another isnt it
I’d like to have a single unit. I prefer the look.
Admittedly I don’t want to use up an extra USB slot either
Once I upgrade my pc soon though that probably won’t be an issue
Wait so, what are you looking for again?
southpaw numpad?
96% or 1800 southpaw of better quality than keychron
how important is frow to your flow
I’d prefer to keep it but if I have num row and num pad I could make do ig
The relyra?
oh its pro micro based, prob doesnt qualify as better than kc
daw cutie
