logitech boards are ovepriced, don't
Maybe but besides the trust keyboard, there aren't any other "cheap" mechanical TKL keyboards with multimedia keys within my budget or close to budget
When I can get the G413 on finance for 3 months at a price that isn't going to harm me financially for any of the months
meme?
but its quality hardware, no?
real
...
i dont get it and i find distressing when people do the obnoxious omnious way of talking about it
huh
dont pretend you have no clue what im talking about
I really don't
nice try, i was given no convincing information on why go for a realforce keyboard, especially considering its pretty expensive
ok tell me what the context is
i literally said that
basically deja vu
anyways
so, suggestion on a logitech keyboard? preferably quiet which i understand are browns.
would a g513 be a good choice?
sorry, i cannot believe you because of the suspicion of manipulation
no
what is wrong with you guys?
saying no without a obvious explanation other than reading as fanboying as a entitled elite user who rejects the mainstream keyboards
why? i want a mechanical keyboard solution that is durable and isnt necessarily all flexible for a fair price
sorry I cannot believe you on the suspicion of stupidity
ok troll
sub par everything for the price
could you elaborate? is it not good enough for the masses?
the clueless person would say yeah they're good provided they do WORK fine
but that's like saying paying 100k for a shitbox is fine
okay, what value would be a quiet mechanical keyboard?
quiet mech boards are very subjective depending on what your definition of quiet is
"quiet" mechanical switches are more of just a dampening compared to stuff like membrane or chiclet
i see
well, as far as i've seen browns are the closest candidate to that or something
it also depends on the board
and in most cases?
in terms of volume, not too much variance
but in terms of pitch quite a bit
do the noise levels overlap between types of keyboard or not? particularly mech and membrane
different pitches makes the sound more or less bearable
not too familiar with chiclet
wdym overlap
as in are they similar?
the noise, yeah
yes and no
in amplitude/pitch
take topre for example
rubber dome with a spring
quite loud on upstroke because of how it's built
overall though, relatively quiet compared to mech
oh! chiclet is those rubber keyboards? those are pretty quiet in my limited experience
i see
chiclet is in laptop or really low profile keyboards usually
ah okay
apple keyboard is the case of a chiclet keyboard or is it low profile membrane?
apparently the most used keyboard type is either membrane or chiclet
which are not chiclet
its um, apple magic keyboard 2
so its not affected by the butterfly switches which were on the macbook after that
annoyingly the bootcamp drivers for the mac mini late 2014 dont include drivers for newer peripherals
and is just enjoyable to type on
hmm i see, is it also the quieter one?
I personally love chiclet
not really
but butterfly is miserable to type on
nah basically the same
well
exactly the same really
parents cant stand the keyboard typing noise especially when its the only thing producing sound
oof
we used to try things such as covering the keyboard in a single sheet of polyethylene
or buying a rubber keyboard
i sorta managed to be able to write at my usual speed on that keyboard and maybe better actually
which is kinda impressive
just to feed you? No, thanks.
😦
I see your dedication to chinese flavour of the month cheapshit boards isn't strong enough
you have much to learn
As if I would be interested in the hobby still
I don’t have mental power to argue with ya, and in the end you’d take nothing even if I was right you’d still not accept my argument so, what’s the point?
its ok man
not everyone can be so completely wrong at all times
just know that you're one in one hundred thousand 😇
how many hours do you spend on reddit and twitter a day?
I feel like atleast 3 hours
genuine question
which… I will not get answer on
like 10 minutes maybe?
can't imagine spending so much time on websites so filled with western brainrot
the topre campaign you’re doing here is brainrot on it’s own
I wouldn't call it a campaign
please I can’t afford a $100 keyboard
you get realforce!!!!!
I get more upset from getting my fingerprints on my temped glass than from the whole convos we had actually
you have mentality of a 13 year old that finds trolling funny.
yeah it is funny
or that means I wasn’t so upset during the trollage you guys were doing few months ago
I'd say you were pretty upset then bruv
lots of alleged reporting to the mods i recall?
man if you get more upset than that at fingerprints on your phone then
LOL
reevaluate yo self
rule breaking?
your friend was suggestion what was it?
discord extension
what
I don’t have the right to ping a mod when your friend suggests something agaisnt the tos?
are you saying this?
you sure do
it's kinda like a child's tantrum when another one takes their toy though
let me just point out dinky
how is this related?
that you're "feeding" me
quiet now huh
you need to work on your self awareness
you go do that and I shall go back to work
bye!!!!
damn, why would I care about your opinion? bye ig?
and why do I even chat with you, it’s totally pointless
oh yeah, you pinged me
please do not ping me next time
another reason to not respond you.
just leave me alone or i’ll ping mod for harrassment
I have better things to do than argue with some person with biased keyboard opinions
would it be cheaper to buy a keyboard without switches and keycaps so i can put custom ones
or should i just buy a hotswappable keyboard
that depends
on?
the price and the keyboard
any recommendations for cheap barebones keyboards
cant remember the proper name but ygm
monsgeek m1
i have a keychron k8 with red switches and its so dumb!!
can any hdmi-usbc cable be used for hdmi(laptop) to usbc(monitor), or do I need to look for a directional cable?
its crazy that cheap is like £100
yeah, it can be gotten for like $50 and less if you do the right combination of coupons and welcome deal on aliexpress, personally the board sounds bit too neutral for my taste but that’s subjective, it’s pretty nice for the price.
is this why realforce lol
I want to learn more about mechanical keyboard customization
just generally? hotswap, keycaps, lubings or stuff like filling keyboards with concrete?
pcbs, pcb soldering, truly custom boards
-Keychron v1
-akko v3 pro creamy yellow switches
-gmk first love clone caps
lubed switches and stabilizers, tape mod done as well
looks awe
what mouse is that?
Yes. General
you choose a barebone kit, switches of your choice - how heavy, there are soundtests of them, keycaps of your likings - profile, color, thickness
but you can get a built keyboard aswell
which may be cheaper
but that depends
you can get prelubed switches if you don’t want to spend few hours lubing them yourself but, they’ll be never as good as lubing yourself because sometimes they come dry or such, low quality lube
but it’s usually much better than using unlubed switches for some switches
it’s up to you
Thanks for the info
You can’t afford it bruh don’t even try
I know 🙃
I just wanna learn
That's why I stuck with this Delta Force membrane keyboard
It still feels very tactile and the build quality is good for a thousand Philippine pesos
i suggest learning something that will make you money instead
Computer maintenance and repairing!
Been wanting to learn more about that for a while now too
Should I get the Nuphy Halo75 V2?
whats the best black rgb keyboard for <100$?
keychron v1
any alternatives?
lenovo trackpoint keyboard 2
+1 for trackpoint
oh thast very pretty. how does it sound? or are you just asking for advice on it
nice screen, curious lcd
is the redragon k628 pro a good keyboard
I ordered it after doing weeks of research. It’s what I call either a buttery switch or a like bubble wrap one. I can post a vid when it arrives probably in a month. Has to ship all the way from Hong Kong
cool
The screen pulls out and you plug it to your pc and can change what’s on it.
This is the one I just ordered last night
Screen pulls out and can have keycaps put in. Just have to decide what custom keycaps would look clean on this
unique
my desk is tiny but i still want 100% so idk what to get
what about the one i just sent?
what do i get for under £50?
as many keys as possible
but also small
yeah
i can’t find any for cheap
found this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Qisan-Mechanical-Wireless-Keyboard-Backlit/dp/B0CH9FXJ3H/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?
Discover the Qisan creamy keyboard, an innovative and versatile device designed to meet the needs of home users, office professionals, and light gaming use. https://www.amazon.co.uk/KOORUI-Keyboards-Backlit-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B0C1N1H932/ref=mp_s_a_1_1? this too
also koorui makes keyboards?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/MageGee-Mechanical-Keyboard-Gaming-Switch/dp/B09N355573/ref=mp_s_a_1_11? this looks like the best one out there bunch
for ur budget that’s the best option
akko has one too
Does anyone know any keyboard businesses that customize keyboards but arnt too expensive..?
Any keycap recommendations?
Or keycap sellers
i want to work on a mouse again
should probably not use an altoids tin this time
though, if i cant have an mmo mouse, whats the point
whatever you can afford
ok same old question
what keyboard to buy? id prefer tkl but i could go for more or less (tkl>more>less)
i got a corsair k100 rgb a while ago with optical switches, and i to this day regret it not having hotswappable caps due to having spilled soda on it.
considered getting the good ol wooting 60he everyone praises but i have difficulties finding a seller
priorities are
- mechanical
- low latency
- hotswappable
i dont care about a wireless feature both ways as long as it doesnt impact performance, albeit id like it to at least have a wired option
i paid 100 bucks for an used one, but im open to spending more if i can maintain performance and quality longterm (mostly due to being hotswappable).
had friends tell me that the optical switches are scams since they are either the same speed and all latency is in the motherboard, or that their response time is faster but unimportant.
but that sounds a bit like the "the human eye cant see past 30fps" excuse. just because most people are fine with it in some areas doesnt mean it applies generally
feel free to insert your minirant here
the human eye can only see 30fps????
who the fuck said that
i would love to show them a 60fps-240fps comparison
best way to see this is a ladder
slide down a ladder in a game and see the difference
im exaggerating for effect, but it has been one (of the weaker) argument during console vs pc wars
ehhh
going from 45hz/720p to 1440p/170hz is literally night and day difference
it is so fucking good
what im trying to say with it, is that i dont know whether keyboard latency actually matters THAT much or whether its just that those that say it either dont have experience with it or are just coping about having made bad purchases and not wanting to regret it
ofc it matters with big differences, but not sure if enough to warrant optical over mechanical
would you say that mechanicals have advantages over optical that outweigh that slight difference?
or is it negligible but still a good choice
thoughts?
im a bit sussed by the response time not being given (unless im blind)
i’m looking for a compact full keyboard for under £50
for what use?
something that’ll last and works fine
gaming
i play flight sims so i need all the buttons
yeah id be careful with response time. usually not an issue when youre coding or chatting, which is why a lot of budget mechanicals save money on that
keychron being a good example, they tend to be very popular at a great price range but their delay is horrible for gaming
i personally would always look for a direct response time measurement in ms, instead of relying on vague marketing like "fast response" or "no delay"
also, if youre really unlucky the keyboard might have a limited key press amount at once. usually a overrated stat since most keyboards dont have that issue, but i would definitely still be cautious.
at least the one you sent is delivered from an amazon warehouse directly, so you could benchmark it on arrival and return it worst case
oh wait nvm it says 98 keys at once
What's the delay on them?
my current one has a 4 key limit
so it’s fine
you usually dont need more than 5 imo, but its subjective
usually around 0.2 to 0.4 seconds
more choice
and therefore a better chance to get quality for money
i see
200-400ms is kinda insane wtf
or is this about polling rate
125hz or whatever
i think they can go up to 1000hz
tf does that mean
also would adding foam to this make it sound less clicky
i've seen loads of complaints about it
and people saying "you get what you pay for"
keyboards that are note worthy always cost like upwards of 100 of your currency
basically
i've seen people say magegee isnt bad
but its "what you paid for"
noice. Really like my laptop's keyboard with its relatively low travel and low actuation force
they dont show you outright, but there are multiple forum posts backing this up
that said, if gaming werent your priority but feel and look, then theyd be great for the price youd get them. most people that are big fans of keychrons buy them for that reason
it's almost half a second i don't think anyone could type on that
what do you guys think?
i dont have experience with hall effect, but at least they are hotswappable worstcase
its around 162$
not tsangan :(
what
be the first to monetize mousecaps, click switch types and novelty figurine caps
a mouse is good if the overall set is good, keyboards are partially bought completely seperately (boards switches and caps)
do epomaker flamingo or budgerigar switches sound creamier?
thoughts? due to the wooting scarcety im considering looking for alternatives. dont wanna get scammed off buying a perfectly fine marked up used wooting tho
mouse caps would go so hard
paper keycaps because my mum said no to white keycaps so i glued paper on them
and it sounds better lol
thats crazy
you are deluding yourself
anyone know how to reconfigure fn layers for a sugar65? this software is driving me mad
Might be getting a used wooting 60he for around 30€ cheaper, but i will miss arrow and (some) function keys. Should i buy extensions, or a different keyboard?
80he is unusual for my price range and i prefer not to spend that much
I know i can rebind some keys to function as arrow keys but no clue how intuitive its gonna be in practice
placebo

jhdfhgidgbndrother89nejklt ujiotghuiotghipdryhui9drghniodg
must have taken alot of time
any sound test?
thoughts on milktooth's blueish white silent switches? im planning on building a custom keyboard with them
whats your thoughts on moog75/zoom75he vs wooting 80HE?
also, are there EVER sales on these keyboards? or is it always full price on preorder
i found one single offer to buy the 60HE used but no clue how low i should go for it
i wish there was an easier way to lube/clean my current keyboard aside from soldering and taking the switches apart
afaik there is no such thing as a keyboard cleaning service
just buy a realforce x2
just buy a realforce x3
not to be rude or anything, but what the f*ck is a realforce keyboard
Don't get me wrong I think realforce boards are sick
But I don't like the fact they only come in full size and tkl
Big topre - realforce
mid size -Leopold
smol boi -HHKB
i cant find anywhere that sells good keycaps
im looking for like a sage green 75% set if anyone knows any
you most likely wont be able to find a set that only has support for 75%. You'll need to get a full kit
you could maybe find a deal on a GMK botanical set
those are crazy expensive
https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-green-keycaps.html? check if you don't like one of these
sup, i am looking for a kb , i bought a really cheap one and now it is giving up on me, budget is 25-75$ in about that range, 100% mechanical , anyone know any?
check aliexpress and the reviews on the individual board you pick
Found a reddragon kb with red linear switches for about 35-40$(converted)
Which also fits the criterias I gave
redragon keyboards are not good for the price
cheap switches, and generally the boards are lower quality plastic and lack dampening
It's my only option, anything else is in a tier above in pricing , others are 60% and or faking to be mechanical
Or unknown brands
does aliexpress ship to you?
Do they have ok quality switches?
I have no idea , the reddragon keyboard is from a national website
With 2 day arrival and free shipping
everyone has different taking of an "ok" for you i'd say yes, they would bhge ok but i'd personally sy they're below mediocre
I mean if the shipping speed is also a priority
Plus also getting some headphones at the same time
which ones?
Ok meaning mid tier, what I call good are like butterfly switches on a hp laptop kb I find them nice but really short
Logitech g432 surround
oh, so you have a lower standard then the redragon has probably good enough switch 4u
I'd not recommend them
Yes , I was just wondering if someone had opinions, until I waited I looked around more and found it, also saw yt sound comparisons
logitech headphones/headsets are all but good for the price
unless you're getting them below $30 pass.
What I am using right now are 10$ brand new surround headphones, I think those will be good
i'd not call cheap closed back headphones from gaming companies "surround sound"
With these 2 I am buying a phone too which I found a great deal on it, being cheaper by about 40-50$ compared to other websites, which is about the price of the headphones so I am happy with the pricing
Surround as in it is not mono audio, also it's a serioux ruari, if you want to look it up, they are actually OK for their really cheap price
And not ok for my standards
More of a general standard
Just the pads aren't comfy, that's it
And low quality plastic
buy some kph30i or ksc75 + larger pads or hd681's and slap paper towels on the driver and buy some velour pads for them
test few paper towels
what's your budget for headphones? if under $80 pretty much these I named are the only options
50$-60$
The logitechs fall in that price range
Plus wired , controlls, removable mic
either save for better headphones or pick one of the I named.
logitech headphones are bad for the price.
My parents wouldn't let me have a bigger budget
then buy one of the three
I am not getting one of those 3, they look like some alien or business focused products
But anyway, thank you for all of the help
that doesn't mean they're bad tho..
Yeah I know, but way too weird , I just want some average looking ones, that's it
do you want looks or sound?
just buy some hd681's put some velour pads on and try taping different paper towels on the drives. the one you like will usually be the warmest because those two mods will make the headphones more cold. Give them a week, once the velour pads get little compressed and the paper gets a seal on the drive the headphones will have better soundstage and sound about right expect for the sub bass, which you just won't get under $120 and a good headphone
@upbeat warren
I want normal headphones, I already found them , I went here for opinions on keyboards, but i also found that.
I just took a second opinion on the kb
why are you asking for advice when you won't listen?
anyways, if the headphones will not sound like the sound is coming from outside your even little head they're horrible https://youtu.be/9WZMsRApP00?

Yeah i get it, but everything was bought cheap around me, those are considerably more expensive, same with the kb (wich i found a link to what i have now https://www.emag.ro/tastatura-gaming-mecanica-a-k88-iluminare-rainbow-tgsk88/pd/DMZZSTMBM/ compared to the reddragon surara which i am getting)
cost = better product
if you want cheap but okay headphones
just get apple airbuds
not airpuds
the plug in ones
they do the trick and cost cheap and chips
I have some wireless earphones from jbl , that are great but those are mostly for gym, trips and phone use
Yes
And all of those are studio ones
All cost went into the audio and none into quality or visual
yes, but the headphones I suggest may be considerably better and cheaper still
Ik , I saw the price, but i want overall quality, that's what I am looking for
yes, the koss and modified hd681's have overall higher quality because of the sound the build quality is not good z
Everything was taken into consideration leading to the best out of box experience
But not overall product quality
That's what I am looking for
Wait, do they even have a microphone?
which the sound makes 80% of
Cuz that is a must
just buy a separate mic
With that I will be spending more and I don't have space for that on my desk, it will look bad
those on cheap gaming sets are usually mediocre, poor or horrible
thast a good point
will it look bad for you or for other people?
good expensive headphones that have a mic to plug in to the headset itself usually costs a lot
The ones on the serioux was good, sound quality was good but not part quality (durability)
Both
I don't think you've ever had decent headphones so, it's not much valid saying they have good sound.
Plus i don't have room, i have no mounting place to have a floating one ( mic arm) and I don't have space to put it when i don't use it
i've had people saying razer headsets sound so good, when I asked why? they never had more three headsets which two of them were razer garbage.
The jbl tune125bt are considered good?
It is really late rn, i never had a decent headset, now I will, and i will be happy plus the audio în and out (headphones plus separate mic) will get more expensive which i can't do
what about infront of the keyboard
or behind
The keyboard is on a kb tray
Behind is trough the table floating
So a no go
send a pic
And nowhere near the monitors since they are quite low (one of them is adjustable only)
could you get a mic arm to hold a microphone above your monitors
@bitter oar sent it to you in dms
Extra cost, can't fit in budget then, or just have to get way too low quality things
I know 💀
you could look at a tunical tnh101 + different earpads + v-moda boompro
that's an m50x clone of sorts
some people don't get as-expected sound from the m50x
anyways I get a very solid sense of direction from them, usually within a spherical bubble of about 2 feet radius
and on some fronts I'd say it outright beats a dt990 250 ohm or hd560s
Is it necessary to relube switches after using a mechanical keyboard for a while?
My modded hd 681's have soundstage of about 3 meters, depending on the song it they can sound wider, good instrument separation. Personally I find them bit too cold for me and the 5khz peak is prolly is too much for me
they're light because of the cheap plastic used
Guys $500 is good price for keyboard right?
and the cable unfortunaly tends to break if not careful enough
does the hd681 use a superfun driver like the sr850
I'm not sure but those two sound similarly
no
What
Oh it’s a duck pfp
What do you guys think of the Luminkey 75?
It's decent but, alot of the money goes to the packaging and accessories
and the ikea'ish experience
I mean, sure if you do want that experience you can go for it, but you can get similar cheaper boards for less
Ok
no
Oh
They were okay maybe three years ago but, nowadays there are just better options
Unleash your creativity with the Angry Miao CYBERBOARD R4 Graffiti Mechanical Keyboard. Drunkdeer hall effect boards are still decent for the price
What’s a Hall effect
Switches that work based on magnetic intensity
Yes
yes thocc, click, clacc whatever
Basicly, but you can just mod it to make it sound a bit better
Aswell
Wait so basically a cheap wooting that performs with same technology
Like hall thingy
yes
iirc the software is bit worse on the drunkdeers and response by %
doesn't matter
So is there a considerable difference between dd a75 pro and wooting 60HE?
Currently using the Corsair K100 100% and got some sticky issues
Apparently the delay is better on it than on either, but its optical as well so no rapid trigger stuff
Also, what about wootings "" true 8k polling"" vs dd's
Whats important to consider when buying keycaps, any shapes to prefer/avoid when buying custom ones?
Stuff like this looks super cute but i wonder if it may effect overall feel and performance negatively
as far as im aware theres nothing too crazy about it
they can affect feel and sound
from what i've heard but other than that they're usually just plastic boxes that go over the switches
If they add specific taste to each button, they would be on to something.
Taste your very first keyboard! (Not for kids below 3 years old)
Pff yeah, funnily enough some of them are more expensive than the keyboard itself
Im all for paying artists but 100+ bucks for some pink plastic is a lot XD
Not really
I too use my keyboard with my tongue
Just have a family and give stuff away

top left goes hard
Hey anyone know why I cannot buy the cycle 8 on the clickclack website? It just says it's out of stock, even though it should be available today.
Hey, Im very new to keyboards and Im planning to buy my first custom keyboard. Im looking at this specific keyboard. Epomaker x Aula F75. All the reviews say it’s really good for the price but I just want some more options on this. Or is there any other alternative boards I can buy for this price range ($50-$70)
It can’t possibly be sold out already, it’s a groupbuy
Way smaller than my old full size Corsair and i love it
Used to use a K60 RGB Pro Low Profile and this is a K65 RGB Mini
Both have cherry mx speeds with the k60 having the low profile variant ofcourse
realforce
wkl 🥵
every other layout is the wrong layout
did you reprogram a super key or do you just not use one?
(I use caps lock)
wow
My keycaps actually technically dont support wkl
so left ctrl and right alt are code keys, fn split with lshift is my lctrl and rctrl is my fn
and no the caps weren't missing any keys
its just not for tsangan I guess???
You'll probably also notice I have a short bksp where tab is
the tab key it came with was kind of ugly imo so I swapped it
so basically I have a goofy ahh keyboard
I’ll check that out. Thanks!
np!
so i messed up spraypainting my keyboard top plate, how do i strip the paint with acetone?
I owned two of these boards they’re good, no particular issues with them like for example on the monsgeek boards the knob has weird encoder that works every 2 steps or is inconsistent so you have to work harder to tune the volume, I find the little bar on the left top a bit distracting at times because you can’t customize that but you could just tape it over or disassemble and remove it.
the biggest issues i’ve had with the board was lube getting under the right space stabilizers on both boards and caused the stabs to make sticky sounds because it was pulling the layer of plastic, can be fixed just by wiping off the lube under the stabs and the layer because they come bit overlubed.
options like rk r75 ain’t bad either, basicly the same thing. they just sound more bland/neutral.
Thank you so much for these information! I wont mind the stabilizer lube problem, I will keep that in mind and clean it under the stabs. Have you done any mods to the board? or does it sound good stock?
no, no mods, it does sound nice to me, only mod if you count that I did, I relubed all the stabs with aliexpress lube and replaced the stock spacebar with a white xda one
oh I see, thanks again, I might buy the F75 it looks cute
hi75 (or infi75 lite if you can find it in range)
What paint did you use
Thanks!
Yo I got some cherry Pepsi on my keyboard, and I took off most of the keycaps it looks like the cherry Pepsi didn't really get under the keycaps much. Should I pour alcohol on it anyways just in case?
you should put it in a dishwasher
Would anyone be interested in GMK Honor or a ramaworks Kara?
Have a 60HE on the way. Any recommended mods I should do immediately?
someone knows a aliexpress keyboard? 75%, can do like 50 dollars since holy shit is ali cheap
you should buy a realforce instead
aliex is a scam
the chinese keep the good stuff on taobao
no it is not
what the fuck even is taobao show me that
i live in brazil its hard to find good deals
chinese amazon
no
ffs
rk r75
THANK YOU
i think his joke is that he recommends realforce to everyone lol
not a joke
some of those images are crazy

No, realforce is better
"🥺 hi im looking for a $30 budget keyboard.. is this one g.."
"BUY A REALFORCE!"
realforce:
also about 3 times more expensive
I would recommend a tofu60 or bakeneko60/go before realforce tbh
esp if they are looking for a smaller keeb they may as well just buy an hhkb for that kind of money
I've been in the hobby for about 4 or 5 years and only recently spent upwards of $100 on a keyboard for the first time
My wallet didn't like it too much
and my parents were mad that I spent so much money on something ""so stupid""
It’s better
haha yeah i just got my first summerjob salary but wouldnt like to use all of it on keyboard xD
cool, its 3 times the price
Save 3x then
not everyone can or wants to spend that much money on a keyboard
people gotta live by they're means
esp in this economy
Buy a used one
Anyone in canada ordered from keychron.ca before? Im super confused like they say there might be more taxes? and takes 10 to 15 business days to deliver? like it costs 225 CAD (+ more taxes maybe?) for the KB i want and from lemokey website that is US based costs 150 usd which is 205 ( + more taxes maybe? ) and delivers in 5 to 7 business day LOL ?
am i better off ordering from us based lemokey website?
Why don’t you email them and ask
just did and thought Id ask more people in the meantime because last time I emailed them they didnt seem to understand me xD
Unlucky
well well never mind they answer fast and accurately xD
sure for 50 bucks
It has cheaper foam config than the f75 but it does the job
both are budget boards
tbf rk r75 doesn't seem to have the pcb issues
More recent rk boards are fine, the old ones imo suck too
thats what i was thinking but was unsure
exactly 100 wpm
Nice
what would you recommend for below ~80 bucks?
this aek from an acquaintance
thats how it is now i guess
wild
New keyboard acquired

I was thinking about rocking a PC CRT as a third monitor, mainly for show, other nerds got a suggestion
Black case, not the largest
Opened box but was new, only thing the seller did was add that protection to the cable
It’s falling apart
silly "arch is the best OS and vim is the best text editior" ah keyboard
fr tho that keeb is SICK!!!
anyone know why sometimes my wired keyboard makes a disconnect and then re-connect sound randomly and it stops working
then i have to unplug and replug to make it work agian
again*
could it be a usb port issue? (it's not the cable)
or could it be an issue with the keyboard itself
what keyboard?
custom
the pcb is the bb60
just started happening out of the blue i have no clue why
tried using a different cable?
yea thats why i said it's not the cable
wdym
like maybe the cable slipping from the daughterboard?
Nah the model M series is fire, it’s an m13
https://en.akkogear.com/product/5075s-via/ whats the thoughts on this keyboard
would it be more worth while getting the m1 v3 monsgeek or
So I've been using my Keychron for six months or since I got it and I haven't been too happy with it. Anyone here waiting for the Wooting 80He? Was looking at it and sell my current keyboard
I've been looking at the 60he but the format might be a bit too small for me.
You mean the 80% layout? Yeah I have mixed feelings about it too. Don't know why they didn't do the normal 75% layout
whtas the website for the real akko stuff because i've just found two
same sorta styling but ones much more refined than the other
Are you looking at buying a Keychron? I haven't had good experience with mine
Could not be happier with these switches. Green guys, gateron beer.
Topre is better
topre go swish swish swish
mx go clack clack clack
alps go scratch pop clack scratch pop clack
please don't do that ever again
well too late for that now my friend, i have ordered a lemokey p1 pro and we shall see how this goes i ll probably cry if it goes to shit coz its my first keyboard in this price range i ve never bought a keyboard that costs more than 30 dollars xD
so anyone got any recommendations for a 75% mechanical keyboard thats like under 50 dollars
Seems to look decent for the price. Hopefully it turns out well.
rk r75 is solid
but my recommendation may be outdated since, because I haven't checked new boards in few months
i'd suggest checking out
ooohh il check it out i havent gotten into keyboards since a couple of years aswell thats why un asking lol
is the keychron v1 a good buy?
Given prime day deals any good mechanical keyboards for gaming that don't cost an arm and a leg
that base looks 3d printed
I’m thinking of preordering the Wooting 80HE this week. Anyone else here ordered one?
I'm looking for a single piece peripheral for my htpc
any recommendations?

pretty much
And I love it
I finally made the leap
Keychron k5 pro red gateron switches with a upgraded foam pad mod. I’m loving switching to low profile I’ll never go back tbh. And the thockyness is just emaculate. (Although the only other mechanic keyboard I ever had was a HyperX alloy origins) so not much to compare with but
I LOVE ITTTT
Keychron k4 or logitech mx mini
realforce
realforce
I’ve had issues with my keychron since I got it and support didn’t really help me out. Replacing it with a Wooting
Looks pretty sick!
The only part I don’t like about it is the rgb software support it’s locked to via/qmk so I can’t use stuff like signalrgb to control the lights
wait WOT
when did this kb come out?
Ive been looking for a good solid white keyboard for a while with the no-walls raised key look. A shame its raised, but I think I'll need to pick that k5 up :-]
Urmmm
I’m not sure but I believe the k5 came out some time ago and the pro and max obviously later
I need a keyboard exactly like that k5 pro white except ful size switches 😔
low profiles should be okay though
chorded?
i use a logitech k400
it's cheap, plastic, and can be tossed around
sometimes find it for like 20 dollars
does anyone know of a budget gaming keyboard 60% with creamy keys?
You could just change to regular key switches
From like xvx and it would be a bit higher
Does that properly fit?
I dont think the plate is high up enough for proper fitment
I mean
I put a few of the key caps off my HyperX alloy origins keyboard and their full height key caps and they traveled full length without bottoming out before the keystroke was reached
@chilly perch
And those are just cheap abs non low profile key caps so
They should fit fine most key caps should fit fine as long as the base for them isn’t proprietary in some way like many of logitechs key switches are
no, just 40
any keyboard recommendations in the 70-100$ price range? I dont really care about rgb and size
so far so good got updated on shipping instead of 3 weeks its coming this monday lol
Looking for a good keyboard doesn't have to he very fast and all that just sounds and feels and looks nice tkl would be nice tips
price point?
also pre built or kit
Keychron V3 is an okay one if you dont like the look or stock sound its pretty easy to change
and its under 80$ rn
Montech's MKey tkl is okay but i think keychrons is a bit better
all preference
YUNZII's YZ87 is good
The b87 on amazon is a decent choice as well, its a newer keyboard that has budget leaf spring mounts in it, and is easy to take apart if you are into modding
other people may be mor qualified for the kits part lol
Galaxy 80 by epomaker is also said to be good, havent had my hands on it yet though
I haven’t had good experience with my Keychron Q1 so I’m selling mine soon.
gotcha havent touched any Q series yet, what didnt you like about it?
I’ve never liked the south facing RGB since my keyboard before it was the SteelSeries Apex. And I have double spacing issues when typing.
hm iterestig, how long did you have it? cause double spacing could be an age or manufacturing issue, or even a bad switch sometimes
I'm not one to change stuff I used to but I just wanna get something and use it
ah oki so prebuilt
Realforce
yeah all of those are prebuilt
Yeah I have a job so I don't get that much time ti game I just wanna get on have a nice time get off but I need it to look good since my setup is in a place everyone can see
This is 100 bucks is it any good
No
My setup is blskc and white btw
Are you in germany
Norway
oki
I can use maxgaming too
Realforce then
It's not on max gaming
the real upside to that is that it has optical switches, and they sound like crap, in my opinion
I don't want loud shitn
all the keyboard i listen are on amazon
Red switches may be my way
in that case
Don't got amazon in norway
Do you even know what a realforce is
Maxgaming, komplett proshop are sites I use
yes? its a all black tkl rgb optical switch mechanical keyboard
Ok so you don’t
If you open to it buy one from Japan and ship it over
Buyee is good
alright then you tell me how an optical mech keyboard can sound quiet
When did I say that
I’m asking you if you know what a realforce is
And you clearly don’t
yeah and i looked it up ik it has optical switches
How you looked it up and came to the conclusion it uses opticals is beyond me
You must be one of the dumbest people I’ve met
maybe im looking at the wrong model
cause i looked at the thing again and it looks more like membrane
are you talking about the other models?
the R3s
Tell me which model you think uses opticals
just said i was wrong and that I was looking at a gaming moded that had membrane, i saw the actuation changing spec and assumed they did mb
Still wrong but it’s ok
then what switches do they have, if any, cause i can find on the website where it says they do
bruh
Im ba k
apparently its not one at all, its a topre contactless switch
id be surprised if that sounded good, if anything it says they are silent
90 bucks brown swir,hws
that ones alright, the brown switches may be loud though cause they are tactile
great for typing though
you can always change them out though
for some quite ones
the ws silent linears on max gaming are ok
that or the kailh midnights
oki
haha understandable
look for the 5075 b on max gaming
that with the akko cs silver should be quiet enough
its 1090kr though
they have an akko 3084
that 890 kr
Yeah the yellow kinda sucks lol
I think you can change the switches in that you showed me earlier
Just is more expensive
Like in the store
You can order it with red switches
Yeah @true nimbus red switches one expensive
Hehe yeah sorry, you can check those other sites
Just make sure it's what you want it to look like and have linear switches
There is this used for 50 bucks
Low profile is peak
I just got another low profile today
10/10 will not go back
I wonder if keychron will ever get better rgb software support like maybe integrate a better software suite into the web software they have. Or make a standalone versions just for rgb. Cause their current options are pretty bland and meh
I’m currently just using a static color cause I can’t stand rgb puke
On a qmk enabled board?
Yea
Guys I did the funny
shout out to the eBay seller for putting a funny keycap in place of the missing hyphen keycap lmao
I got the lofree flow today and the typing experience is so good
https://www.maxgaming.no/no/gaming-tastatur/5075b-plus-s-black-gold-tradlost-hotswap-tastatur-akko-cs-silver this any good
So
A lot of the rgb.matrix animations probably aren't enabled.
You'll have to #define them in the firmware and reflash
There’s just not a lot options on the preset web ui rgb settings
There are too many, when all of them are enabled the resulting firmware is often too big to be flashed
Oh I see
would be a good place to start, if you want to learn how to activate them.
Imagine adding storage to your keyboard
Alright thanks
https://github.com/samhocevar-forks/qmk-firmware/blob/master/docs/feature_rgb_matrix.md the list of animations can be found here
Open-source keyboard firmware for Atmel AVR and Arm USB families - samhocevar-forks/qmk-firmware
But yeah, the plane jane vanilla rgb settings are usually pretty boring
haha nice enjoy that wooting keyboard
my new board arrived too.
Guys is the akko 5075b plus good?
do you really need a wireless keeb
Nice! I just preorder the 80HE today
@native sundial 👀 more pings for you here. Having fun with this sucker atm
Kailh Box White V2s don't sound as bad on this board.
0.1mm actuation and rapid trigger go brrrr
haha those fast inputes
lol the big buttons that come with the 8bitdo are actually fun to use. Atm they're both set up to mute windows audio and the other to minimize all applications.
And the B/A keys on the keyboard itself go between the desktops I have
I like this. What do you guys think? I have small desk space because I have two stations on one desk.
idk what i have against 60% and 75% keyboards
i hate them
I go full on or not at all
yea for their first go at keyboards I am impressed at mimicing the old clacky ones too haha
Btw what is up with corsair and not including keycap removers with their K70 RGB Pros
just because we don't have FPS caps?
Their software is not as bad, basically VIA but there is a little latency after remapping a key or doing any sort of action in it.
they probably didn’t think of that, or they want to save money
true
but on god imma use my last 40 bucks to buy a keycap FPS set with the keycap remover
I also just figured out how do on the fly macro recording haha.
can't have the profile you have set already be active
heh?
on the 8bitdo keyboard you can do that but can only set it to the two big buttons it gives you or the B/A key on it
I saw it's tempting
I got a numpad already although rarely use it.
Though if I wanted a numpad I can pull out my keychron q12.
I have a problem with changing out keyboard often
but switching back and forth from old ones.
https://github.com/kmonad/kmonad
I use this to make my own keymaps and all.
yep got it
@boreal rivet seems like your kind of content
Fb admin knows what’s up
What’s a good keyboard to use for gaming? Idk if use case is that important. Preferably RGB so I can see my room is dark
Realforce gx1
I almost bought one of those
went with an anodized aluminum tofu60 instead because I'm a basic b*tch
ah
I was consdering both
the keeb drawer on my desk isnt meant for a keyboard and mouse
so a tkl is a little big
a 60% just gives me a little more mouse room
If the 8bitdio came as 60 or 65% I would have maybe bought one
I was also considering an hhkb
but the layout is kinda
I could not do with ctrl where caps lock is
the rest of the layout I could maybe get used to
I think I might buy an hhkb as a fun backup keyboard some day
but I aint ready to daily one yet
Wouldn't say it is odd but the two oddball keyboards I have is some cheap inland (microcenter inhouse) ortholinear keyboard, keychron q12 southpaw, and the epomaker minicat 64
Minicat was purely a display piece/occationally used, now display piece.
My current collection is my wkl tofu60 2.0, a transparent blue wk61 with vinstage mac style keycaps and an apple magic keyboard
I had an rk61 but I sold it to a coworker
my wk61 is dead rn
I think I'm going to keep the case around and build it into a handwired board
oh and noctua keycaps I was one of the few people who pre-ordered the keycaps mito did in collab with noctua
since the case is transparent ile be able to appreciate my work at least
I should use them now that I have the 8bit keyboard
not sure how the brown and beige will compliment the current colors of the board
I had no idea those existed
thats sick!
hence why I wanted the commodore one but did not think
they're abs so def will get smooth and shine but the legends will be there for a long time.
mines already are in that state well the most used keys
lol
Actually the noctua keycaps are gonna work on this keyboard almost matching
what's your budget
150 USD
Touch type? Remember we’re the buttons are?
Where*
I’m okay at it but I am accident prone and if I loose where I’m at I can’t just look to readjust
that's what homing keys are for
so you can find f and j
It was so worth it to learn how to touch type so I could use double shot pbt keycaps at night without ugly ass rgb
also just get a lamp in your room or something lol
Your future self (If you continue down this rabbit hole) will thank you
Plus I would rather have a 100% keyboard
I went from 110% razer blackwidow with mx blues to a wkl tofu60 with alpaca v2's in less than 2 years
I went from innocent and naive to broke elitist asshole
I swear you'll have an inexpensive (or typical gaming/non boutique) keyboard -- people pressure you to upgrade
you will upgrade -- people say you could have spent your money on a similer or better keyboard for the same price or cheaper
you feel insecure again and you are back where you started
Its just a fucking keyboard
This hobby kinda sucks..
almost as bad as linux
My current keyboard is a 20 dollar one so I can definitely upgrade
When I was in school it was
but a lot of people fail at it despite being forced to learn in a computer lab for a few hours a week at a young age
yall remember these things?
that actually seems better
those orange covers were everyone worst nightmare
a box would seem kinda fun since your going 100% by feel, and its not hindering the feel at the same time
(the learning software assumed you tried)
real
Use a computer to do work
It’s not that hard
No need for software or dedicated training
what is the spacing? :o
no not at all
My rk61 has started ghosting on certain keys they just won't work when I press thrm
So I'm a keyboard noob, I just wanted to buy a keyboard with hotswappable switches so if I had what happened with my old keyboard happen again, a key dying, I could easily fix it myself without having to dish out too much money. I researched, and it looked like the Keychron C1 was a great entry/beginner level option with hotswapable keys, so I purchased one from Amazon.
My comma key stopped working early this week, and it has been really annoying because most of my job is writing emails, so I went to go take my switch puller, and just do a quick swap of the comma for the LED backlight mode button because I rarely use it.
Apparently the ones sold on Amazon aren't hotswappable, and there was no where mentioned that I was buying a soldered switch keyboard. I'm really disapointed that I now need to shell out more money on another keyboard that I don't have, and now I cannot do my job correctly as a result...
Anyone got any recommendations for beginner hotswappable switch keyboards that aren't from Keychron?
Unfortunately, I purchased it last year, Amazon only does returns 30 days after purchase
ah then ur fckd
you should buy a realforce
I also have issues with my Q1 with double spacing when typing and only had it for six months. Looks like their quality control sucks. I’m selling mine for a Wooting keyboard.
Which one would you recommend for someone who likes tenkeyless and bought the Keychron C1
R2 tkl 45g
or a gx1 if you want rgb and gamer features
How many layers of tape is overkill?
I see many people doing 3 but I wanna do 5 lol
lol give it a shot try 3 then 5 and compare. I did 4 on my first board
does it realistically make a difference or is it just diminishing returns after 3
3 is enough maybe just one or two also.
make sure to use nichiban blue tape
it sounds thockier
kamoi makes it clackier
are there 98% ortholinear keyboards ? no split or anything else
the only one i find are 60 or under keys and mostly have a split
I temporary bought the hyper x 60 alloy
Still looking for keyboard 65 % would be nice

bad analogy lil bro
would help if u said what currency
i have an epomaker th80
one of my keys are broken
i was doing some researching online and apparently something on my pcb may have come loose which i may need to solder
any1 know anythin abt this?
is kr too ambiguous ?
i have custom monsgeek m3 with kalih box switches and red and black tai hao keycaps
i know 3 different currencies that use kr
Kr ... Norwegian krone
ye that helps , cause Sweden and Denmark also use Kr 😛
NOK , DKK and SEK , they are all krone/krona
oof lol
ur dms open? lemme invite u to the Norwegian discord
we got a discord for keyboards
ye i was not trying to be rude 😛
kr does not tell me that much , unless it were to be said in a Norwegian discord etc
makes sense
switches look like a nightmare
slop
did you pull the switches out at some point?
i did after it only registed input after 2-10 clicks only

which version of it?
