What keycaps and they shouldn’t be wrong that’s what they weigh it in at
dcx garnet
oof
i have baby raccoons which are the linear variant of the kangaroos and i love them
Too many black switches
yeah
No it's great bro
I like how scratchy they are

Browns are endgame
If yall had to pick huntsman mini special edition or apex 9 mini. Idc about swapping switches which of the 2 will feel better
oil kings
nothing special
besides maybe having a good spring stock
but then again it's cherry
I love my oil kings in my keychron q3

candykeys
candykeys is good
they're just slower
because it's a small operation
every order i've had has been fulfilled, slower then others but i like to support it
you´re in the EU ?
still waiting for my refunds
it's a good store, they just have some issues
well noone is forcing you to buy from them
in EU they're pretty reputablr
but i agree
Eloquent or Deltakey
are better
also still better than MyKB
mkeu? not a thing anymore
yep
yes they are loll
it will be missed
full size, debating if i want to add an expansion port
or leave as is
no frills, so no rgb, encoder, indicator leds
since when did you make full boards
for the lols
add lock led support
and wdym by expansion port
I'd, but not enough pins

The ICs next to the hatted face can be daisy chained up to 4
so by passing a few io and a few serial lines, you can get 8xN more keys per ic
so similar to something like adb daisy chaining
im already using 2
so i can have more 16xN keys
in any arrangement, just gotta adjust the mapping
depending on how many io i expose
6 is the plan tho
so up to 96 more keys
though at that point idk if youd rather buy and build an equivalent board
add niche stuff
you should add support for different layouts too
I'm interested now
I should goof around in kicad
lul if i wanted to i could daisy chain more and drop the expansion port...
brb, math
4 rows, 3 col, 4 spare io
what features you wanna squeeze
realistically you'd only really need enough for a numpad and maaaybe a 3x3 or so macropad
nah it can be expansionless
more math
with 5row 3col for 120 keys, leaves space to do another 5x8 key
oop forgot to mention, this only uses 3 of the 4 avail daisy chains
3 io for random features, plus expansion up to 40 keys
or i could go for the classic 3 led indicators
I'd say expansion because it's less common
expansion is already baked in
io features tbd
also seems like expansion should have enough conductors to pipe whatever features you want
lol
(using hdmi)
do what
just as a carrying interface
so for data transfer
ya
pretty cool
copy the weytec mk06 screen mod ideas and add a screen you can use as a monitor
i dont think i could pull it off
do you have any idea how annoying it is to source one
sorry there's a lot going on in the design side that restricts the options
rgb takes one io, indicators take 1 io each
amusingly wireless is an option
encoder takes 2
rgb + encoder would be nice
but pain to solder
already have to solder 100+ sockets/diodes
obviously not
fair enough
so clearly this means to add a trackball
2 pins

where would you even put it though
arrow cluster
so much effort though lol
Is it possible in any way to rebind the scroll wheel on the apex pro
go to #mouse
Heads up if you've bought stuff from keychron in the past year-ish.
I use cards for online purchases that are unique per site I use them on and are also locked to the first merchant they get a charge from.
This week I've had 2 blocked attempts for clothing related shit for a card that was used only for keychron last year. Check your stuff for weird purchases.
damn
It’s a keyboard
damn
is it a clicky tshirt
what do yall think about the shadow x and the wisteria switches
That's not how privacy cards work
is there someone with experience of buying key caps, in Europe. that could tell me what to watch out for, good and bad signs. if a store or a seller isn't genuine.
there are so many different sellers. and it's just so difficult to identify real or fake sellers sometimes. or the ones that manufacture vs the ones that do ripoffs.
oblotzky
has a lot of good GMK
coffee keys or sometimes deltakey
i recently got a mechanical keyboard from a friend and its a 61 key keyboard is there any way to check if the switches are hot swappable?
Before and after disassembling and cleaning my keyboard, took two hours to do
Mine has staggered keys
It just some 20 dollar Amazon no name mechanical keyboard but it's been holding up nicely and sounds good for the past 3-4 years

Hey which keycap set do you guys think looks nicer
I kind of like this
I'm confused. Are you telling him to get a different colorway for $25?
I like purple.
So it's the same colors he wants for $25?
$25 compared to $100
I just wanted to be clear that he said he got the clones because he can't afford the real ones and you replied just to get a cheap bad colorway.
Jesus...
Okay as long we cleared that up and you are okay with that. You don't see how silly that sounds?
Yes
Never mind though I just wanted you to confirm what you said so others can see it.
Don't bother replying anymore
man… can you stop harrasing people for not wanting to spend a hundred for pieces of plastic?
leave them alone then, either give them a suggestion that checkmarks their needs or just don’t respond instead of making fun of them
I would give a fuck if they weren’t so overpriced for pieces of plastic
“art”
my ass
well, pay your “art” tax yourself then but, not everyone wants to pay extra 300% for keycaps because they’re genuine pieces of plastic
It’s not going to ruin their typing experience
I don’t see the problem in buying a clone set when the original stole from the ip anyway
I don’t see an issue aslong it brings competitiveness to the market
he's been doing that for a long time, a lot of people wrote to me and a lot of people contacted admins, they won't do anything
because he's not insulting or threatening anyone it's just protected free speech
yes it's sad someone devotes so much time to this but nothing we can do
tai hao keycaps are cheap and good quality tho they come from taiwan so keep the shipping in mind.
even if someone would care to deal w your bad advice and remove you, you'd just create an alt acc and come back so it's not really a solvable issue
people should just go for advice elsewhere
affordable too
pretty sure their shipping is decent
ive bought two sets of them
ive using their backlit pbt red and black keys atm
my keyboard is like 2 kg
monsgeek m3 base
realforce is better
monsgeek seems decent , seems like a better buy than keychron tbh
keychron pricing , at least for the alu stuff , is not really good anymore , considering the amount of budget stuff coming out (neo , cycle etc)
im not talking about rn
but sometimes people want the average keyboards, don't suggest topre realforce to everyone
be a bit open
don't hate on stuff
not all the time man
i understand
but try to be more open minded man
i know you're knowledgeable
because you need to be more open minded
maybe he is very open minded and has determined realforce is best
yes because i've tried

tellimg you multiple times already
it's not the first time i've told you this
i have no authority here im just trying to help some kids that want thock, alu and keycaps
is that why you tell people to dm you whenever someone shows up
HHKB
yeah because im trying to spare them the roast
that they get here
for buying clones, having cheap boards or gamer brands

I'm not the one with multiple chinese value boards bruh
he left
doesn't show him as in the server anymore

Is there a keyboard layout that has a left control key as big as the left shift?
Or am I just hallucinating?
Lctl and Lsft are the same size are both 1u in this
You know what I mean
The left control being bigger than 1.25u
I remember using those types of keyboards in school and I prefer it over the 1.25u control keys on ansi keyboards
I don't mind being pinged
I want to build a tkl keyboard but I don't want no small ass control key
I hate that
I might have to go Tsangan, I can't seem to find a layout that has it
tsangan is probably the closest thing that would be searchable easily lol
R3 control
Please elaborate
capslock as anything else > capslock as caps
I prefer to have my control key in the corner
What layout did those keyboard my school used back in like 2010-2015
They had exactly what I'm looking for
a 2x size control key equal in size the the shift key
Can I like custom order a keyboard base kit?
how expensive will it be and where can I do that?
Like, a pcb/case?
yeah
Idk, most I've seen are done as a commission or for personal use?
Case material would have an impact on price as well
@patent belfry trying to decide whether i want the split alphas rn, but otherwise i might just make a southpaw ortho fullsize?
fullsize for people who want to touch my computer, ortho for my sanity, southpaw for fun
I only got 500$ rn
Seems like my perfect keyboard will have to wait
Perfection can be a hell of a rabbithole
I just want a big control button
Split alphas would prob throw some typing habits off but I thought, might as well since it's already ortho. But thinking that splitting alphas would make hunt/peck typers distressed
Most likely would result in an Alice style bend, or be comically wide
Speaking of peck typing
I recently achieved 116 wpm whilst pecking
I started learning touch typing like 2 weeks ago, I hit 20-40wpm on that
I didn't record myself sadly
I was at school when I did it
I think the peak was 300 something on a singular word
Do you guys think the galaxy80 is a good keyboard
"but I had a good experience with them so they are good"
what's a good barebones tkl keyboard with a Tsangan bottom row?
budget is 200-300
can be stretched if need be
Realforce 86u
geon f1
I'm gonna go Neo80
Neo80 in retro white + https://spaceholdings.net/products/gmk-lavender-keycaps
W or L
gmk good
I'd say beige gmk
Nuh uh, my favorite color is lavender
the key caps ain't changing
The entire point of this build is for the Gmk Lavender set
lavender cerakote
the first thing that popped up was a lavender Glock 19 and it's beautiful
I need
darkish grey
which one is that?
tried lilac?
The issue with that is the shades are different and that's gonna bother me
holy shit they have stonewashed weights
Yeah, I picked stonewashed silver
stonewash is baller
it looks sick in retro white, I'm just worried if it's gonna work with the keycaps
I fucking cropped the image and still sent the wrong one, fml
imo I don't think it'd work
so normal white?
that'll for sure work because the keycaps set has white too
might be the best bet
btw have you heard of shipwrecking copper
no
you could in theory get the copper weight and shipwreck it
I'm going broke after this one
all of my 500 is vanishing
Uhh
Not quite sure I follow
uh gimme a sec
Maybe don’t spend all your money on a keyboard?
an example of a really beautiful shipwreck (forced patina)
not a good idea for that board though
shhh 🤫🧏
🤦
that looks cool
not gonna do it on a keyboard lol
I'm 17 bro, living with my parents
this is my saved up money, it's fine
macropad?
Just start using stenography at this point
thinking if this is too few for a split board
pry r1 from my dead hands
chording layouts are meh
wondering if these red keys would be worth destaggering those outer cols a bit for
I was surprised to find out i like typing on my laptop keyboard, better than my 3 mechanical keyboards. Since i don't want to wear out the laptop keyboard, are there 100% keyboards with rubber membrane laptop keys? Im going crazy, i know
4Y40X49493?
Yes
Not a bad suggestion though.
Chiclet keyboards are good
People just don’t want to admit it
Because no way their mechanical keyboard is matched by some random laptop right lul
Right 😄 The closest one ive found so far are the Logitech K280e, wish i found one with white backlight.
wow, the Cherry KC 6000 Slim looks promising, no backlight
man i wish theyd sell kits for them fr
literally lower profile, plus seems like they have some half sized caps
why not
im still waiting for my refunds smh
looks absolutely fine
That looks horrible 🤢
Thinking about making an Altoids board again
looks like wet carpet
Hey i need help to find a wireless full size black keyboard that can do rgb can some of you help me ?
will most likely mess up fitment if not done right, won't match, and probably will take a few tries to get it just right
that unit is from a guy I know, is just fine
it's an entire board not a weight
But i'm selling this one
not a common colorway
Yea but the caps were cheap
you need some gmk
I like it
Okay chat, I have finalized my keyboard build
What are your guys thoughts?
White Spraycoated Neo80
Vertex V1 Switches
GMK Lavender Keycaps
Guys guys, you should switch to Dvorak, it's much better than qwerty
ALT Gr for special characters
There's a steep learning curve
It's highly unlikely you will become faster on Dvorak versus Qwerty unless you've been using it since childhood
Some people do prefer it
Qwerty just has the advantage of being familiar and will generally be faster
I switched to Svorak A5 in like 7:th or 8:th grade.
Oh, I thought you were asking if you should switch
Speed on a keyboard layout highly depends on how young you picked it up
Put your kids on Dvorak and raise the fastest typers
yes and no
on the same level some layouts are just better
but who teaches any of the niche layouts
You can't beat 20 years of familiarization of using Qwerty
most of the fastest typers in the world use Qwerty iirc
I type ~70 word/min on Svorak A5
& like 30 word/min when I go back to Qwerty
sitting in sofa with thinkpad atm tho & it's 4 am.
I think I learned touch-typing at the same time as switching to Svorak A5
You type 70 touch typing?
I reached 116 chicken pecking on Qwerty
im learning touch typing and am around 40 wpm 95 accuracy
I'm pretty sure I found it insanely hard to beat 100 wpm on desktop before when I tried haha
like you make a misstake
then you have to erase
& rewrite the word
Just don't make mistakes
100% accuracy chicken pecking 🗣️🔥🔥
though, my average is ~80 for longer writing tests
this was just a singular sentence
I only did those 60 seconds one
also, your pfp is something
you guys are the reason behind why a box of 64 plastic squares is priced over $100 CAD
LOL
????????????
LOL
y'all into custom firmware or nah
Hell yeah bruther
you're welcome
Did the best with the yee yee ass layout drop keycaps I had
you don't lol
what board?
I bound the cinnamon menu to ctrl (code)+shift
tofu60 2.0
linux user 👀
I think I bought the last anodized aluminum wkl one available
of 3 or 4 months.. yes
im about to go Linux , just waiting for new M.2 and usb sticks to arrive
Bro you don't need an m.2 for linux
I have windows on a very fast nvme and my zorin install is on a really crappy old sata ssd
zorin still boots faster
does not have anything to do with Linux tbh , my secondary m.2 is having issues , so i bought a new one 😛
oh lol
but i also got it so i can just use it for Linux and use the one i have windows on for dual booting
just seemed like a good time to buy a new one , had been putting it off cause lazy
What distro do you plan to try first?
guess
already tried a few in vm
mint
starts with a and ends with rch
arch
not a bad first if you've tried a few in vm's and have some experience with the terminal
terminal is so yummy
bruh
@modest condor Just don't install too many bs packages and don't update soo often
I bricked my first arch install a few weeks ago
backups
got a figure out a way to do that with Arch , mint had that nice thingy for it
I kinda wanted to fresh install it again anyways
see how much bloat I could leave out
kde when
I've tried kde multiple times
I don't like it
It's fine if you don't care about rice and just want a working Wayland session i feel
frrrrr
I like the functionality of plasma but every time I install a theme it goes to this default that looks like a really old version of plasma I think
lookin like k desktop circa 2001
anyone know if its possible to disable the capslock led on the tofu60 2.0?
Ide like to use it as the super key like on a chromebook
since I'm wkl
via vial
Thats what I figured
I'm new to keyboards, what's a good place to get keycaps for a tkl
how will it split though
ah
I've got 18 days to use these diodes and stuff i got for free hmm
mass print good tkl pcbs
profit
damn
How many RGB for underglow actually
I mean, I could always just eat the cost of more diodes
But I do want to know how cheap I could make something this month since there's sales going
Keychron Q5 Max is a full metal QMK/VIA wireless mechanical keyboard featuring 2.4 GHz. Customize any key or create macros through VIA as usual, and connect the Q5 Max with up to 3 devices through Bluetooth for seamless multitasking across Mac, Windows, and Linux. ISO options: German, UK, Nordic, and Swiss layouts.
any objections against this?
Fc980c is better
isnt that a plastic body?
kinda want a metal one unless its quite a bit better than the keychron
It is quite a bit better than the keychron
just get the keychron if you like it
unless you rly want to try out topre and is willing to pay the price for a topre board
I added a pair of black switches to my enter and caps lock keys, so I don't accidentally hit them anymore.
well, I will still hit them, but they shouldn't actuate unless I mean to because they are double the weight of all the other keys
Hi there, I'm looking for keyboard recommendations. Budget isn't a major concern for me. I'm currently using the SteelSeries Apex Pro but have had long-standing issues with their software, and the keyboard is becoming unreliable. I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard with Nordic support and a numpad, so essentially a 100% keyboard.
Yall the red dragon k630 dragon born with the G102 light sync a good kbm combo ? Costs about 46$ here
Tag me once I get answers
the amount of stimming i would do, if i had this keyboard would be allot
guys
i just bought a 10$ mechanical keyboard
that is also hot swappable
and pre-lubed stabs
all for 10 bucks

Is it though
is it though
more infor needed?
I assume all you guys use superior PS/2 Keyboard connector
USB-A
Guys is it alright to just close via software after I'm done with it?
I'm super scared of bricking my new $200 keeb
Hello. I'm trying to help my bf with a new keyboard. Always know any good Keycaps that are Red and black. For Outemu switches that let the RGB shine through the letters. Looking for either full size or TKL sets. All I can find is SF.
What keyboard?
@drifting mauve he just bought a new red dragon keyboard because of the colours but it's too small so he's returning it. He doesn't have a confirmed new keyboard yet but I'm helping him piece together so he can make an informed decision since he will have to be buying new keycaps since he can't find what he wants in a TKL or full size.
Ive already found a keycap set for the cherry mx switches (incase he likes that keyboard better). Finding one for the Outemu switches seems impossible
damn you dont need to tell me your whole lore
I just needed to know if it was a high end or budget keeb
Damn its actually harder than I thought to find red and black keycaps that arent either cheap crap or stupidly expensive
esp full size/tkl
Doubleshot pbt
they may improve the sound of the keeb quite a bit
@drifting mauve those don't seem to be Outemu profile but they are nice. You see my problem now trying to find keycaps.
I'm tempted just to buy him cherry switches
Are they low or high profile outemu?
becoase cherry keycaps can fit
just not on the low profile I'm pretty sure
@drifting mauve would they? Hmm good to know. Looks like it's the standard high profile
That set you found is really nice though. If for some reason they don't fit I'll order him some cherry switches
What is outemu profile
Outemu uses the same cross mount as cherry
outemu lp is cross mount too
foooor whatever reason
Ok so my bf got the Red dragon K628 pro (which he is returning since it's too small) and he has an artisan keycap cherry mx style which doesn't fit on his old keyboard or this new one.
Both have those Outemu switches.
and I suppose we should magically figure out what the artisan is
any keyboard recommendations I have a budget of around $150
With keycaps and switches you can get it right to you're budget
I would've recently bought it over the tofu60 2.0 but I wanted a 60%
its not relesed yet tho
But I would definitely wait till reviews come out and consider it if it interests you at all
it's saying it's out of stock?
Is there any other options I really need a keyboard
luminkey 65/75
or neo
Realforce
Realforce
Question
Anyone know where I can find this keyboard that came out in 2019
Ducky shine 7 Christmas edition
Looking for a keyboard better than the Corsair k55 RGB pro for the same price
does anyone know a compatible case for the ajazz ak680 thats made from metal?
Have there been any reported cases of a Box White V2 or a Box V2 switch in general stretching or cracking keycaps?
I had Box White V1's that cracked the stem of my PBTFans set and have tried Baby kangaroo's and now Gateron melodics but the box whites still for me feel better to type on. If the V2's have no problems thinking I'll likely buy some
Haven't found anything mentioning the V2s having problems on reddit, etc but figured still best to ask
Damn... Thanks for the heads-up
Would you have any suggestions for a clicky switch around 50g actuation then that wont crack keycaps?
A lot of folks recommended the melodics but these feel heavier than 60g
interesting even after all these years of "fixing" it it's still not fixed
melodics feel great
spring swaps aren't expensive either
time consuming though
thocc thoughts
switches?
when i try to connect my keychron keyboard to the site that they have, it says that it cant get the info from it
ive been looking around and I wanted to know what I need to lube my stabilzers easily, is there a way i can just shoot lube in with like a needle or a syringe?
Yes.
yall im keyboard shopping and ive got a few requirements
- corsair, i already have icue stuff but willing to try other brands
- cherry mx blue switches (call me weird idc, my adhd brain loves it)
- 100% keyboard
- individually lit rgb keys
- macro buttons
- no stupid round or circular keycaps
K1 Pro QMK/VIA is that keyboard any good for gaming?
What’s your budget
budget doesnt matter, i got the k8 regular recently from keychron, but found it you cant remap the keys on it so i thought i could switch it out, i really like the design of the k8 regular one, got recommended to get a max version if i could
having fun with through hole with a touch of smd
sadge that the esd chip is the centerpiece instead of the mcu though
maybe in some other revision i can fix it
wtf this is not cursed
make it cursed
the cursed part is that you can substitute the centerpiece with diodes instead
thats what those holes are for
lol
keep em coming
Also have some stuff coming in
Debating what order to order things rn
I still need choc switches and mx spaced choc caps
for the stuff coming in
mostly
looking for modestly priced 60% board (barebones preferably) that has lots of padding, is flexy, has good mounting system, etc and that is not on a group buy, if anyone has any tips. Someone recommended the paw65. I think keychron has some interesting and very cheap boards (q-series = gasket mounted). But yeah. I just want to throw on some nice caps and haimu heartbeat switches and have a nice travel board.
ie, I would get the zoom65 but stupid group buy bs.
wait for the zoom65 v3
almost out
also zoom often has stock (at least my region does)
most of the mess is the silkscreen lol
I am fairly opposed to stalking a website until drop day. I don't really care that much and have things to do, people to see often. I don't want to support such a group buy culture. I think people should make good keyboards and sell them normally. :/ am I a boomer?
So I bought a PORTRONICS HYDRA 10 with blue switches recently, and I want to make my keyboard response time faster and better too. How can I do that?
Hhkb
I've thought about that actually, but I really do like haimu heartbeat switches, and I have no idea what topre switches would feel like despite people consistently rating them as good. but it's a lot more convenient to have hotswappable keyboard that works with normal switches
Incidentally I thought this was for a fight stick at first glance lol
What's modest 😮
< $500 usd
topre is great but when it's super new it kinda feels shitty
I've got 2008 domes rn
Did you look at Mode's stuff?
perfect sticker placement lmao
Im thinking abt getting this for my first keyboard. (Im coming from a laptop) https://a.co/d/igflj5u is it good or are there betters options under 50$?
which case looks better for these keycaps?
45 $ keybord🔥
u taking the pic with an airplane?
can someone help me learn how to identify the different problem-sounds from switches?
or at least have separate examples of problem-sounds with the spring and leaf ping.
just having a real hard time finding any specific sound clips.
that’s up to you
just order assembly lul
like uhh
idk 50?
30 lowest ive gotten
no diodes, ch552t
rp2040 boards usually cost me more tho
lots of caps ig
hm
if you wanna go for a daughterboard like pro micro/xiao is pretty easy
depends on the style youre after
cheap
probably 3 dollar aliexpress pro micro daughterboard then
yeah
soldering is easier with those anyways
just needs diodes
ch552 weact board is like
under a dollar
oh thats a welcome deal
Hello
EPOMAKER TH80 Pro Wireless Barebones Keyboard Kit, 75% Hot Swap Mechanical Keyboard Kit, Bluetooth 5.0/2.4GHz/Wired RGB Gaming Keyboard, with Dampener Foams, South-Facing LEDs for Win/Mac/PS5/PS4/Xbox https://a.co/d/4Zl5pXO
Would this be good for a custom keyboard?
are other smds already soldered on or what
im confused what you mean by other smds
yes the daughterboard/dev board comes with a lot of the smd parts needed to funcion
just missing the diodes, otherwise its already keeb ready
the diodes are all thru hole I assume?
depends on what you want to use

smd if you want to assemble at factory or yourself through hole if you want to solder yourself
so gonna be stuck with smd diodes
why do you say that?
I misunderstood what you said nvm
RK ROYAL KLUDGE has a professional engineering and technical staff and R and D team to provide you with high-quality design and production. We are dedicated to improving the sense of gaming experience for every player. This gaming keyboard with the Red switch is suitable for the starters of a gam...
Hows these for a custom?
@cunning anvil any good kicad tutorials you know of?
noahkiser on youtube is one i see passed around a lot
yup
👀
that’ll be very nice
i already have a coil cable with the quick release so i just bought the keyboard side when making a custom cable from cablemod
the sound won’t be though, space bar especially, wooting switches are mediocre sounding
maybe the new case will help with sound
hall effect switches have acceptable sound profile imo
spacebar is very clacky, rest of the keys are kinda creamy
and they get creamier as you go closer to the top row, it’s a bit odd
stock case is plastic so i’m pretty sure it’s just the case for why they sound different
I know this is bout keyboards but anyone got technical knowledge on mice?
what about mice
i know a little bit about lightweight gaming mice
Okay can I get people's opinion on a keyboard I bought?
fuegobird k3
i swear im gonna throw thinkfan into inittab if it keeps dying
are there any companies that have good quality keycaps
Mb I should've posted this somewhere else
ty
My 6, 7, and 8 keys sound like they have different switches (this just started happening)
i kinda like it ngl
should i replace my Gateron browns with any other switch? if so what switch (for reference i have a stock NuPhy Halo75)
cause i want tactile for sure but idk if i want to get rid of the browns yet
is there 60% keyboard thats cheap that people usually change the parts for?
was planning to usehttps://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-q2-max-qmk-via-wireless-custom-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40770772729945
Keychron Q2 Max is a 2.4 GHz full metal QMK/VIA wireless custom mechanical keyboard with a compact 65% layout, featuring a 1000 Hz polling rate. The built-in multiple layers of acoustic foams, combined with the double-gasket design give you an unparalleled typing experience. Connect the Q2 Max with up to 3 devices via Bluetooth 5.1 for seamless ...
but im starting to think the price isnt worth it
any keyboard that doesnt light up really i want
I love my Razer Huntsman Mini, it’s a keyboard
Hhkb
What keyboard should I buy for ~$125 USD?
I do not care about switches, I would like hotswappable keys
Hhkb
Hhkb's are $280
Couple 100usd ones on chinese ebay rn
what would you guys recommend for light silent linear switches?
i’m in the USA and price isn’t really a concern
i would rather not join any groupbuys or have to wait a long time though
aged topre
Is it worth upgrading from this ancient relic?
my recent build

epomaker flamingo switches
cherry taro keycaps
whoa
Is Vaseline a good lube?
can i get some switch recommendations for spamming the shit out of a key like a spacebar
i prefer linear but its whatever. just something designed to spam fast
no
Can someone help me find a pcb and a case that would allow me to build a similar keyboard
I used to own a razer blackwidow 2013 w/ mx blue's
My current daily is a tofu 60 2.0
Yes, absolutely
But if your gonna buy another gaming full size I would keep it
If your gonna buy a custom qmk programmable 60-75% I would go for it
Another words if your gonna upgrade I would stay away from razer, logitech, steelseries etc
just.. please spend your money wisely and get a real fucking keyboard
truer words have never been spoken
my custom 65% board recently died, after six years of service
so I'm replacing it with a keychron q1 mostly because I need a replacement asap
currently I'm borrowing my dad's old full size cherry mx blue keyboard and it's better than my only other backup keyboard which is a razer membrane
Should’ve bought a realforce
Finally diving into the world of replacing my switches.
Didn’t like the stock ones that came on the RK-M75 that I have, so I’m now trying to find a more solid alternative.
So what you're saying is:
Gaming keyboard = bad
Custom mechanical = good?
So I’m looking into some Switches.
From this testing board. Anybody good with identifying them?
Buy a realforce
Buy a what now
You will also thank yourself later if you ever switch from windows to linux
to just load a custom qmk firmware instead of going through proprietary gaming software bullshit
corsair ique is esp bad
Bought me a new Keyboard. Replaced the Red Switches in it with Gateron G Blues and Changed out the Keycaps with something from epomaker. Also Got lucky to buy the Keyboard itself for second hand.
I'm already on arch
I was thinkking of getting a keychron k1 since I like low profile keys
k1 isn't bad for the price esp
from reviews I've seen keys kinda wobbly.. lp gateron switches are harder to find keycaps for than lp kailh (If you ever wanted yo upgrade the keycaps, stabs are also proprietary I think
from soundtests I've heard its nice tho
There also aren't many other options for a low profile full size
same
good choice
gotta upgrade to kernel 6.9.5 .. Its been a minute since I last updated lol
did anyone say Arch? https://i.imgur.com/Fyikwq6.jpeg
I currently have the redragon k556 dharma pro stock, I damaged a few of the keycaps, will any keycaps work on it? And any recommendations for a budget keycap set?
||we really went from "I also use arch" to "I own a redragon" in a matter of hours
keeb chat fell off
||
using arch isn't the flex you think it is lil bro
Yes, anyone who can read install arch and any other distro for that matter. Just follow the install guide.
maybe next time you'll think twice before trying to FLEX
hehe
idk who's "flexing"
tbqh
Any recs for a keyboard? I use the razer huntman mini, purple switches (I enjoy it). I want something more custom, with a nice "creamy" sound when I type? I love the colorway that looks natural (think rustic/wood/green) yk?
Keyboards are what I'm less knowledgable on
realforce
just buy a keychron
The Wooden Wooting
get a keychron that’s in a default form factor then case swap and use Akko Cream Yellows
This is fucking awesome!
Can you link me to everything shown here?
thanks, i have a custom cable coming in soon but it’s about a week out
the PCB and switches just come from the Wooting 60HE+, i’ll grab the link to the case and the keycaps
Case:

Keycaps:

Handcraft GH60 Solid Wooden Case For 60% Mini Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Compatible Poker2 Pok3r Faceu 60 Wooden Shell Notes For wooden case,it's hard to find 2 same trees to make it,so there may be little different from the picture shown as below. Some may look darker. 1.This link is only for th...
i will say the case is harder to recommend because you can see the PCB and switches, that’s fine if they match the color scheme of your build but the 60HE+ PCB is white and nothing else here is white, also it’s completely flat and not ergonomic so you’d need to buy wedges to make it easier to type
https://a.co/d/0h6BymXa i just bought this but it’s not arrived yet so i don’t know how good it will be yet
they keycaps are really nice, and if you don’t mind the ergo shape it’s a really nice case
it comes with a wooden dust cover too
Anybody know what language this is? Russian?
I think you've got the same keyboard as me
Yeah, that looks russian
Cyrillic
Recommendations? Wood preferred
Yes
I’m a little too lazy
I hardly understand the whole keyboard niche tbh
Never did anything custom w them
Always used razer kbs
what are some good switches that are very clicky and make alot of noise
except it's not russian, I got this at a garage sale the russian script is also shine through so I find it pretty cool
early 2000s garbage plastic build is disappointing
Are the novelkeys cream a good switch, should I pull the trigger on them?
can someone recommend a machanical 75% keyboard?
I didn't say it was
nor do I think it is
I just think its cool that a lot of people use arch
glad to see people staying upstream
guys what are some good mechanical keyboard companies? looking to get a new one for around the 75£ pricepoint. I understand that means i'll probably be limited in my options
can someone give me keyboard suggestions? I currently have the corsair k70 with cherry mx browns. I really like the metal frame and media controls, but i want something a little more enthusiast level and has a good medium clicky sound level, i kind of like the tactile of the browns but so far i haven’t found any. The closest one i’ve liked is the asus rog azoth, but i prefer to keep my ten key as i use it for production
I learnt from my mistakes brah 💔
|| + Got that keyboard for free lmao ||
did you know that you can buy a brown switch mechanical keyboard for only 20 bucks?
that's how i got mine.
Whats a good under 75$ keyboard?
Preferably wireless with and a volume knob
I found this in Ali express, I have heard of the brand before not sure about it tho or what kind of company is making the switches https://a.aliexpress.com/_omMg3GI
Where can I find it? Can't find it on amazon
Out of my budget
question:i got a saturn mouse pad the smallest one they make wich is roughly 20x17 inches so it’s a square but i also want something under my keyboard, problem is most desk pads are too short for the saturn to sit on with no overhang and not sure about another solution
Custom mouse pad makers have all sorts of sizes
Do you have measurements for what you want?
Hey yall i just bought a gaming keyboard its a Red Dragon Mechanical keyboard board for like 30 dollars bc it was On sale and i was wondering if its a good gaming keyboard?
does anyone have any recommendations for switches similar to Durock/Jwick T1 but a bit lighter?
$250 dollars on a Razer keyboard yeahhh
Anyone use KTT Matcha switches?
They come highly recommended - just installed them - not totall sure how I feel about them yet
you should use them more to find out
They have a super snappy tactile feel - like the tactile part is super duper pronounced
should i buy the k55 core (i have a no name brand membrane)
just bought a keychron k4
Since getting a qmk compatible board and programming layers for mouse controls
..I've stopped using my mouse :P
wasd mouse sounds miserable
then don't lol
It took a bit to get used to but its not much worse than the mouse nipple on the thinkpads
The acceleration is a bit weird tho
I sometimes just grab my mouse from my drawer and start using it for certain things
I've just found it more comfortable for neither of my hands to leave the keyboard yn
Is it worth paying a 20 dollar difference for MX RED SPEED switches compared to regular RED?
imo no
mx reds are kinda mid anyways
all it is is a red with a shorter travel distance
This might be an outdated recomendation (I havent done much research in a while)
but I would go for gateron yellows
Gateron yellows are deeeeeecent linears with a lit spring - when you mod them, they're very very good linears with a lit spring - when you buy them, you wallet doesn't hate you as much (did I mention their spring is literal flames)
Link to all the parts I use in videos: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IFiNKkJjAZJvprjfq71IgTNLlGcrfJF-fL...
Personally I bought unlubed glorious lynx switches on a good deal awhile back (like $15 for 32 switches I think)
even the unlubed lynx switches are smoother than the factory lubed optical yellows in my old rk61
Question, just in terms of prestige is cherry still considered a good brand? Personally I always felt cherry switches wobble a lot and don’t feel as smooth as the Chinese brands in recent years.
i indeed do not
i bought a keebmat
felt series
What are people’s thoughts on the TKD brand? I know they’ve had some issues with their PCBs in the past, but the Cycle 8 is looking pretty appealing once it comes out.
i'm assuming they would have hashed out the daughterboard issues by now
Interesting post, I’d heard of this but it seems a lot worse than I thought. Guess I’ll have to keep that in mind for the next gb/sale
anyone here preordered the lemokey p1 pro and got it? would love to hear some feedback
is there a ferris / ferris sweep but not low profile? idc if soldering required or already assembled? just want nice quality and ability to put in my own switches / caps
split (diy?) keyboard of good quality with ~~hotswap/~~solder own switches / own caps / not low profile
nvm. "hot swap is unreliable for curved keywell"
do all curved keywells use low pro switches? >w<
Why is my caps lock not working? if i hold it, the light stars blinking and if i release it stops.
looking to sell a keyboard dm me if intrested
woodting
mx blacks and ergo clears are pretty good
mx reds and blues aren't bad but there are def better linear and clicky options out there imo
and mx browns are just bad.. cherry has no f*cking idea how to make a tactile
i’ve not seen many other wooden wootings, and also people don’t usually put non-black keycaps on their wooting
would you like me to tell you how unique you are by not JUST swapping your case and keycaps like everyone else but also using a wooden case and 😲 light coloured keycaps!!!!!
you should put an alps build in that case instead
Floating key alps would be a unique aesthetic
he doesn't speak here as much I've noticed
I bought a leobog A75 and switched in some Monka sea salt pom tactile switches. It feels so nice and is actual well built for only $120 CAD
It also sounds great
it came with linears, but i dont like linears
the stabilzers are great
those are called Alice Keyboards right? any decent recommendations for a wireless barebones one? preferably the same layout as yours; 75%
Yeah. You can find some on KBD fans. Keychron also sells some. Not sure about the pricing on those though
It would be the q10 Alice, v10 Alice on keychron
huh, $84 for a barebones wireless V10 Max, thats not a bad deal, ive never bought a Keychron but ive heard they have good "price to performance"
its not, thanks though
do you think i should go with the fully assembled for the switches or buy some budget akko switches? they only have Gateron Jupiter Brown in their fully assembled ones
Do you like tactiles?
ik its personal opinion, i like to see others opinions aswell
ive used gatteron pro yellows, are those ones tactile? all the rest ive used IK are linear
ive never used tactile then
Get the barebones, then get compatible switches (make sure they have the right pins) and a supported keycap set for alice
Don't make the mistake I did of cheaping out on a 30$ keycap set on Amazon and getting poorly made keycaps
Like you can see the function button doesn't even fit on my old one
i have a massive kit from Drop that i used on my wooting until i wanted to brighten up my wooting
its like 200+ keys
im sure i wouldnt struggle to have the keys, maybe find them though lol
idk if the kit has alice space bars though
yeah theyre at the bottom
i just checked the listing
this isnt even all the keycaps
Nice
Just find yourself a good set of switches
Don't forget to buy 105 because it has 80 something switches the keyboard
I really like my Monka seafoams
i think akko kits are sold in 45 on amazon
reccomend me actuation points
Keychron K10 Pro VIA/QMK with Brown switches ISO model. ABS or PBT version? It seems that none of our distributors has PBT version. Only the ABS.
Just buy the ABS version and be done with it?
Keychron PR22 palmrest for that keyboard is it recommended?
barebones? what does that even mean
comes with the pcb and frame
no switches, keycaps
Any good references for 1800 compact layouts or just any keyboard with a numpad and compact
fc980c
I may have forgotten to precise under 150 euros 💀
It's 250 minimum
Euro
without shipping
I'm in France if that helps
@patent belfry
just make your own
is a keychron v5 a w keyboard?
it is a keyboard yes
How does this work? Apparently AA alkaline have a higher amp rating than AA nimh, but how do nimh last longer?

Is ur board made out of aluminum?
No

How good is this mechanical keyboard? Also, this is what my local internet café uses
why don't you go to your local internet cafe and use it then
I used to go there until my dad got me my own desktop PC
Wanted to upgrade from the crummy keyboard that came with the PC
If you like it, then buy it
thats a membrane
well if i had one suggestion
go used
I saved like 100 bucks on my new headphones by going used
Aight, I'll see if there is
I can't find any listings for secondhand red dragon keyboards 🙃
what's wrong with logitech mechanical keyboards? i would like to have one just for the sake of going mechanical, i also would prefer one that works with lgs instead of only ghub
why are you guys standards so high lol
you're chatting in #peripherals
im aware
nothing wrong with logitech keyboards
but if you could get a 4090 for the price of a 4060 would you still ask whats wrong with a 4060?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CRB1RK2V/ref=twister_B0D2ZQ8CYK?th=1 thoughts on this keyboard? i plan to swap the switches out, but i like the 60%, and the keycaps
realforce
if i was looking for like a cheap cheap cheap keyboard what would be my lowest price
i know people keep saying " you get what you pay for " for loads of companies
but i wanna know if theres anything that gets out of that sort of area?
i want a nice 60% keyboard with green keycaps
and for switches i was thinking akko lavender puprle
purple*
because i think they sound quite nice
but im so new to this whole keyboard thing im worried i might accidentally buy a keyboard thats poorly built and not worth the money
Not sure if too late, but here's a bunch of part numbers you can keep an eye out: https://sharktastica.co.uk/kb_db_list?search=model_m-e_can_mod. At least in North America and the UK, you can generally find these pretty easily as they've been made for a while and are still made.
I did find the keyboard
Cool, enjoy!
Just upgraded my keyboard with vertex v1’s here is a vid but it definitely sounds better irl
fn + m
Thoughts on this Delta Force keyboard?
I know it's membrane, but I love the build quality
what is that layout
iso
Thoughts on the Neo Ergo? I’m considering getting one, seems to tick all of my boxes.
Anyone got a UK layout suggestion for a mechanical TKL bluetooth keyboard with media keys? I'm looking for one £50-£60 or less
I'm looking for one similar to this, this is the same as the one I'm currently using except the price has gone up with this only listing available at £120 on ebay
Anyone know if the "Trust GXT 834 CALLAZ TKL Wired Gaming Keyboard - Black" is any good? It'll be £45.94 after shipping
i am in need of a decently cheap TKL keyboard, preferably black
do not trust trust
they have one of the shittiest peripherals i've had
