im kind of scared of the keychron having bad performing rapid trigger tho
but ig they usually do things pretty well
ig if i really dont lik eit i would be able to return
yeah, going with a tried and true solution is usually best
my current keyboard currently bottoms out at 3.5mm and i think thats why i hate it so much
razer blackwidow v3 mini
oof, that's rough
i got it as a gift for christmas so i feel kind of bad for getting a new one so quick but this is also why i hate getting suprised with technical stuff like this
yeah, that's why I always tell people not to buy me anything involving my personal sutup. it's personal for a reason.
yea its really unfortunate but i appreciate the thought/gesture
its higher quality then my old keyboard i feel though so its not like it was a downgrade necessarily i just needed a new one and not this one
that's understandable, glad I was of some assistance at least
My certainty has wavered and now I'm very unsure again
Oof
Anyone got experience with Steelseries keyboards / microphones?
Desperately need a new keyboard, my loud ass Corsair is giving up on me. RGB on some keys broke and the keys are deteriorating after 10 years of glorious use.
Looking for something comfortable to match the asthenic of my setup, mechanical yet not overly loud since I have a separate studio microphone without a boom, so it’ll pick up loud clacking.
I have a Steelseries MSI monitor which I adore and the brand seems loved.
They also sell mufflers with their keyboards which is a plus
I have their Arctis Nova 1, my brother has an Artis 3
Based on my experience I would not deal with them
The headphones I broke from them were broken, I went through the manufacturer as they had warranty
they went back and fourth complaining that i didnt keep the reciept even though i had given them a bill of sale (which was forwarded directly from the retailer), alongside the charge
it took me 8 months to RMA it, which almost took up my entire 12-month canadian warranty
No idea about their keyboards though, only reason I ended up in this channel is because I purchased my first mechanical keyboard
I purchased a Keychron C2 which is my first mechanical keyboard with brown switches. Loving it so far, feels much better to type with especially at ~130wpm
where's 1800%
My beloved
hey, can anyone reccomend a nice tenkeyless keyboard for around 80-100$ on amazon? Im looking for a clicky type keyboard with a detachable usb c cable and ideally a volume knob (i know i probably cant find one in this price range but im curious if anyone knows anything)
i mean , there are probably some cheap e waste tkls with a knob ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Keychron does have some iirc
not that keychron is e waste
Ok ignoring a knob, what tkl keyboard's are nice for the price range I mentioned?
Rn, i have a hyper x alloy origins, but its a couple years old and i think i have some input problems.
I want something nice to type with, so im thinking clicky blue switches, what brands or keyboards are nice like that?

My keyboards spacebar frequently double presses or doesn’t input at all. I’ve cleaned it out and replaced the keyswitch but the issue still happens. Could it be a problem with the pcb itself?
It’s an rk61 60%
Hi hi!!!
So my G915 is on its last legs, shift keys solder broke once and keeps breaking, and the space bar is missing clicks.
So I'm looking to get a new one. I've used this keyboard since it released and before that I just used a stock HP keyboard.
I'm looking for something that I can either assemble myself or buy out if box that would fit what I do well.
I'm a full time student and do alot of coding normally 3 days a week for 8 hours, and I also play really fast paced games like ultrakill and other games that require me to change and press buttons quickly.
I've never built a keyboard nor do I know anyone who has. My only thing js that I NEED a numpad it's one thing I can't live without
Any recommendations?
Realforce
i wonder how cheap i could make a full size keyboard with Bluetooth
with some assembly required
are pcb mount lp switches stable enough to do plateless
where does one even find gateron lp switches
man google it
im sorry i just was rambling
dont mind me
i guess gateron is the only manufacturer of those kinds , makes sense
stabler? or better switches
i think gateron lp v1 was shorter or close
Does anyone know of any AI that can be trained to function as a voice-to-text interface? normal solutions aren't sufficient for me, and I'm losing my ability to type with my hands
I'm also open to other hardware alternatives if you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it
Honestly Siri worked great for me
My mom often starts telling me that I have to write this and that in an email for her cuz shes super busy, i just open Siri and she does voice to text pretty efficiently
Yes, Apple actually has the best voice chat models, both Macs and iPhones, but I need something I can train because I use a lot of weird words when writing essays
In Windows there is a solution but it is super expensive, it costs about a thousand euros
Are you loosing the ability to write because of a physical issue ?
yeah
If so you should consider medical ways
I have heard of companies doing these kinds of things
basically something like Steven Hawking had
operations take time and yet I am losing capabilities and I need to work
That's fucking expensive and difficult to implement
I'm not in the USA
I don't have one, in short, in my country health is managed differently
Otter. It's on iOS and Android app stores.
I've heard good things about it but have yet to use it myself, mostly because I have yet to need to. That also means I have yet to read the ToS and Privacy Policy, so I can't vouch for those, either. Always read any document you're agreeing to.
hey ummm what's a good mechanical keyboard that's around 100$
oh yea preferably tkl 60 or 65
The fully assembled version includes: ABS plastic housing The keyboard PCB, screw-in stabs, and the steel plate Double-shot OSA PBT keycaps (including Mac & Windows keycaps) Keychron K Pro switches The barebone version does not include the keycaps and switches. No discount codes can be used for V2. Please drop your
Keychron v2 is probably the best smaller layout keyboard option under $100
Hey, I have the Wooting Two HE and I've had it for over a year or two now. Sometimes keys just get touchy and type without me or turn up and down volume. I often use the .1mm sensitivity but didn't use to have this problem so much. Any ideas? Thinking I'll get to cleaning it one of these days. Perhaps there is some keyswitch cleaner someone can reccomend or troubleshooting ideas?
Seems like resetting the settings helped but it's weird. I'd be interested if others had the issue, it would be interesting to undertand it.
You might just be laying your fingers on the keyboard
Fingers do that ya know, get tired
That stupidly low actuation seems more exhausting to use than 70g tactiles
Hell I use black switches which actuate like a normal red, but heavier and I still manage to accidentally hit my spacebar
It was happening without anything touching any keys
Your keys' actuation might actually be triggered by your keycaps then. How heavy are your keycaps?
thocky keyboard
hey, im currently looking for any recommendation's for a 100% mechanical keyboard with clicky key switches preferred, i currently have a logitech g512
Any recommendation for a vintage keyboard?
just got a keychron V6 barebones, absolutely great full-size board for under 100, and just buy whatever clickiez you want
also have a K10 and much prefer the V6
if you have $600 the Dino 104 extras went on sale today
AEK, rt101+ or model f
They came with the keyboard. It could be that but if it is my guess is that they needed some sort of calibration and perhaps resetting the settings/keyboard helps with that. I'm having less issues since I reset the settings on the Wootility.
Despite the occasional issues I like the Wooting Two HE and would still recommend it. Tons of customization. It has a thick sound, not necessarily the clicky sound you're looking for but prob a good compromise.
It's around $200 when i bought it and it has Hall Effect Key Switches
https://shop.beekeeb.com/product/smolo-low-profile-keycap/ they dont fit smolo tho :c
ML seems weird capwise
is ml available still? project suggests not
alps vibes
broken in switches lol
but idk i want things i make to be reasonably replicable, without salvage
ig if i really wanted to do that though i wouldnt be using GLP
people should make more gateron lp clones
kailh choc is fine but mx spaced caps are so pain
and choc spaced is fucking rectangles
cfx is square but tiny
only natural choice is topre short throw
whatever parts people still make is what i make boards from
what if
silent gateron LP
still waiting on the silent chocs to release :c
choc caps in mx spacing are hard to find
idk what ml spacing is like tho
whats cool about the footprint? tkl?
gnob
is it like, "the" tkl layout?
gotcha
heres what cfx looks like in mx spacing
gap
ooh 18.1mm
basically mx spaced right?
mx caps are 18x18 apparently
or something
choc travel
fast travel bad?
low travel bad
of
taihao nice
their abs is decent
a little on the thinner side though
ok two questions:
where can i get a cherry mx red rgb/clear (not sure what it's called) keyswitch set for cheap
and will my existing keycaps (stock redragon k582) work?
just search mx red and click on the results
yes
meme board
bro really has nothing better to do
not cuts, just some junk that came from black tape on the battery
cause isopropyl
You are telling me this is not A flex cut
Everyone says that mechanical keyboards r so good to type on, I peaked in typing speed on a test the other day, on my macs keyboard
Oh, I thought you meant cuts on my hands
yes, those are flexcuts
but based on what i’ve sent you can clearly see I didn’t put just mediocre amount of force to pop the socket purposefully
also, even if the socket popped up for some reason the wiring still holds intact, so technically functional.
unless the whole socket gets destroyed which is easier than to pop the socket actually
unless you really abuse the keyboard there’s no way the socket’s gonna pop on that board tbh
weren’t you one of the complainers about hotswap sockets being shitty and all on those budget boards? here you have it
they hold pretty well.
Skill issue, insert your switches without bent pins
Look at the video again how much force i put into breaking that socket
???
order new switches get bent pins
logical
Your sockets only pop out when you insert a switch forcefully with bent pin/s
That's not what I meant whatsoever
You can have 1 switch with bent pin and other 80 fine
From factory or during shipping
And you try to force the switch into the socket and then you pop it out
There's no other way pretty much to pop a socket normal way
shit solder joints
Yes, it was an issue on previous budget boards around 2 years ago
It seems like it's gotten much better
Gmmk 2 had like the shittiest solder joints ever
one shit joint ruins everything if you don't have a soldering iron because you cope with hotswap all the time
Popped easily compared to anything else
Well, these on the f75 pcb even if they entirely pop out somehow they're still held by the pcb part and work
Lol
The most effective way to pop them out is with tweezers into the socket and push, which is highly unrealistic scenario as hotswap sockets get 99.9% of the time popped cause of you pushing the switch pins agaisn't the socket outer sides
better
realistically im more worried about the socket being loose over use and then unable to contact the switch pins than somehow being dumb and strong enough to break the socket
Don't smash your keyboard, issue solved
The pcb will likely break sooner than the socket tbh
my gk61x pcb still working fine after 4 years, in that time i wear out the switches enough to warrant a full swap
The switch itself it either mounted on the plate or pcb, you won't damage the sockets if you push the keys harder
yea
More likely to crack the pcb
Which is fatal, but that can happen to any keyboard.
With enough force
i fucking smash the board against my thigh and its still working
just need to swap the chatter old switches
went full clicky and heavy this time, some box navy
I usually do just linears
I'm priviliged enough to be able to use clickies without anyone complaining so I decided to try the opposite of the switch spectrum
took a while for my weak ass fingers to get used to the navies
previously running good old gat yellow

nice
Gats yellows were goat at the time
Nowadays there are 15 trillion options to choose from
Yes?
If you're a newbie check hotswap pcb layout
yeah, i'ma block you back I regret for the second time for unblocking you
Uh but you are
Hotswap sockets are at the same level> or 0.4mm below the pcb depends on the pcb thickness no way of popping them through smashing the board from the front
Again that's not even what i'm talking about
Unless something knocks the sockets or you bend the pcb purposefully to pop them out (at the time the pcb would already be dead asf anyway) they won't pop out
Or just insert a switch front wise w bent pin and force it in
Again look at the video I sent earlier how well the socket held
Then talk who's spreadong misinfo.
I do agree that all you need to do, is line the switch up, all good
I also tried knocking a socket from the side and it was solid asf
Also the tweezers i used literally bent against the sockets
Cheaper set of tweezers but still
If you abuse your keyboard that much and call it out for failing cause you're a moron lol,
nonesense
because of the absurd amount of flex cuts
just don't smash your keyboard please...
tbh, I don't understand the whole flex cuts and flexy plate materials
Ignorance is bliss I guess
Even without flex cuts I doubt the sockets would pop first before the pcb cracks if you'd smash it with a hammer for example, depends on the sockets and pcb thickness, mounting style in the most part
It makes typing softer
most people don't care about them
But I don't like if there's too much space for the gaskets to do the job
It's weird to type on
what’s the average cost of an entry level budget keyboard build ?
like 100 bucks i’m guessing ?
Depends on your needs
anything with an absurd about of flex should be smashed
let’s say some basic 75% keyboard rgb backlit blue switches
hypothetically
i was just curious because i have pretty much this exact keyboard for like 50 bucks but i seen cool ones that have the little cool nob on the side to control volume and stuff
so i can prolly switch it all over
why are you acting like that one example determines how durable all hotswap sockets are
also you realise that the pcb was taking most of the load right
that must actually be the point of flex cuts hmmm
flex cuts to make the boards idiot proof
Guys I have 100-150 dollars for a 2nd keyboard
I want either a tkl or a 65% or a 60% WKL what kit do u guys recommend
$140 pro2 from sho
Where send link
idk probably is in mechmarket
if you’d smash the board from the front yes, that’d be the case
or both at the same would break the pcb and socket/s
it doesn’t have reason to pop out otherwise
when you insert* a switch with a bent pin you put alot of force on the solder, that’s what makes it pop out. otherwise everything one the board that is soldered would break if you’d smash it
calling hotswap sockets trash cause they can’t handle whatever idiocy you put them through is not the boards fault.
yes, not every board has the same godly soldered sockets so, just take your time and make sure your switches don’t have bent pins or socket them properly you don’t even have to put almost any force whatsoever with good method.
idk why you guys even argue about just such primitive stuff and twist words I say.
rainy75 is solid
intert
hmx and ws switches don't work properly with hotswap btw
Since the pins are too thin
You slso can't use the best budget switch (mx blacks from an old g80)
????
it works without a problem
I don’t wants 75 💔
Have heard of people with issues
I didn’t have personally
ws doesn’t have the thinnest pins
the pin's thickness is the same as akko
ever so slightly narrower than gateron on one pin
guys, are logitech gaming keyboards really that bad? (i just want to know, i don't want to get any keyboard)
they are bad value yes
you could either get one that has even more features for bragging rights for the same amount of money
or get what logi offer for less
I heard that their quality is bad mostly
Bad for the price
like if you put the quality in a vacuum, its average.
but they are asking a premium on them
Well i heard that they have some Bad PCB, body, keycaps wearing out really quickly...
I'm perfectly fine with this thing, I ain't buying anything just to make sure. I just want to know if it's true that those Logitech keebs are that bad
My mindset is like this: a product is truly bad when it can't hold up to normal usage. It broke randomly after 3 months of use or something
Cheapest logi board don't do that. But for what they asking, they are def cutting a lot of corners for bigger profit margins. And that's where the bad comes in.
Lol
It all puts in the context of money right? I don't think you are gonna say that its bad when you get it for free and it ain't broke
but if you bought it with money, then it better be good
Yea
Like from what i heard, those 100€+ keebs from them have more problems, than my 70€ Endorfy Thock 75% Wireless black
That's where I have issues with most "gaming" branded keyboards. They get away with sticking that magic word on and charge extra
Yea
Yea that's true.
I would still avoid most Logitech G boards, just because you save money getting something else that has the same feature set.
and if it broke, at least you won't feel as bad if its unfixable cause you spent less money in the first place
Idk about the Endorfy marketing for their Thock keebs, but they like Made them durable for real, hotswap, wireless with bluetooth and they feel real nice
Yea, and if for example the battery dies in my Thock, i Can still use it in USB mode and constantly power it for wireless for other devices
yea
or open it up and swap the battery since the case is not near impossible to open to do service stuff like that
Yea, idk if Endorfy would provide new battery, but i think still better than some Logitech solutions. (Logitech still makes good mice tho)
you could get some with the same spec, just not buy the cheapest thing available.
these kind of boards uses mostly standard stuff, but it comes with the problem of actually getting one battery that actually has the capacity advertised
Lol
I have no idea what is the advertised battery life on my Thock, i would legit accept even bad as 1 day
Like... I Can still use in USB mode
yea thats true
I just realized that my mechanical keeb might last longer that keeb on my Asus Vivobook 💀
Do you guys have suggestions for silent mech keebs?
I know it sounds sacrilegous but I need one
im new to the whole like
tech keyboard stuff
and mine just broke today lmao
need a good reliable keyboard but something that'll catch peoples eyes yk
preferably brown switches
Is there a such thing as silent tactile switches?
I know that linears can come with tiny little rubber bumpers on them to make them quieter. Can you find those on tactile switches, too?
ye
what makes a silent switch silent is all in the stem
housing, and thus leaf spring is independent of it, so you could buy a bunch of cheap silents and gut them for the stems, I will warn you though, lubing silent tactiles are the most difficult
This is a Kailh silent apricot
endorfy? that’s one of the brands i’d avoid 180 degrees
everything so far from them was shitty
f75
fans - snapping blades during normal operation, cases - cheap asf and they’re not that cheap, psus? bombs
also, not only the fans snap their screw threads were basicly unusable after one unscrewing
they were vibrating during operation.
btw that pcb earlier was the f75 pcb
the flex cuts are worth more than the pcb
I have more though, during a mod when I was tapping the board with tweezers I accidently scratched the lanes because the cover on the tweezers before i knew, were pierced by the tweezers themself and well… I scratched my pcb
killed fn key and arrow keys so I decided to tear down it
pos
I mean it was my fault, normally the pcb is covered with “sound proof” pet layer that would prevent it
realforce
Not keebs and headphones tho
Only their pc Components suck
PSUs are bombs, yes. Cases are overpriced, yes. Fans Bad, yes. CPU coolers Falling apart
gaming headphones pretty much suck 99.9% of the time
so, i doubt headphones
Well, they don't even say they're gaming
Iirc
what are their frequency response?
can’t find it anywhere
You mean range or not?
sound curve yes
(i did not test them, they sound fine)
Ehhh, you mean that from (this to this) or else?
so, you don’t know…
this
Oh this
hd 681’s as an example
No idea
well, then you can’t say they’re good… there’s no source reviewing them
They don't sound crappy, but i'm not some audio expert
Also, idk how much difference there is between Viro and Viro infra. Those infra suck
I mean you probably have lower standards
Yes
I’d not buy their headphones personally nor their keyboards
I Can identify crappy sounding headphones after i got my Viros,
there are cheaper options
Well, keebs are kinda fine for that price
70€ and wireless with good metal body
But only if we talk about those Thock
metal doesn’t define that the keyboard isn’t crappy
Well, it's not flexing,
But better no flex than any flex
Yea
No ABS
They are not even shiny after all this time
are you sure
the keycaps are abs indeed.
Which ones?
Wtf, they don't get shiny at all
pbt is usually not shine through
does not mean they’re not abs
But they feel legit good
Then why the fuck they feel a lot different from ABS keycaps
abs plastic can vary a little
I meant the unintentional flex
like the whole boards flexes
is probably what he meant
Well, somehow that Thock does not Flex at all
excessive flex cuts are for shitters
he means the type of flex across the whole board
like when you take a whole keyboard and you’re trying to bend it
anyways, I can conclude that you have far lower standards and that the board is shit for $50.
but if you like it,
Well, i bought it for 60
And i love
My vivobook has trash keeb when i compare it to that thock
just have a good laptop
well, anyways next time don’t buy stuff from endorfy/silentiumpc they’re garbage for the price.
One of those million cables behind the screen could get cut because of those plastic cover that keeps popping off
Mostly their PC parts. Peripherals a lot better
still poor for the price.
Like those PC parts are garbage
Well, i'll still choose their keebs probably
I mean, it’s your money
Yea. 100× better than Logitech from what i heard
Like those problems that those have that i heard
I mean logitech is known to have the worst keyboards along with corsair
100 times garbage is still garbage
i’d not get neither of those gaming keyboards
from logitech, razer, glorious, corsair, steelseries, etc… unless i can get them for free or smth
just taking listen to a sound test from kitguru, it sounds like generic $30 gaming keyboard with some foam
the spacebar rattles~
but if you’re happy, I can’t stop you from buying it.
again
also, the spacebar sounds hollow
you can get like magegee 75 for $20-25 and it would likely sound better
@fresh thistle https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006388142463.html?
i’d wait til aliexpress decides to put those 10-20% off coupons
- the seller can also put some in store discount
that would be like 1-2 bucks off + 5% off with coins
question
i've read places that keykron is good, but some say its bad aswell
whats the general idea on that here?
q>v>c>k
Q is good
V is alright for the price
C is actually the worse or abt same as K but it is cheap
and K is just way too overpriced for such a keyboard
alright
thanks 🫰
fuck
👍 *
are those keyboards able to have their switches changed or?
i'll be sure to look at the q and v series
dont listen to this dude lol
especially when it comes to audio
if you want to see what I mean
what
I didn’t want ksc75’s because they have tighter bass than hd681’s.
and also actual “headphones”. both are kinda trash compared to iems
do you know what iems are even?
…
google exists
earphones but good ~basicly
to keep it simple

buy headphones at that range
Symphonium helios
cause iems are much better at budget when all you’re looking for is clear sound.
not wonky, close to harman target
Which Harman target
hello guys is this possible changed to qwertz to qwerty
you just need to change it on windows
but bro that keyboard is qwertz not qwerty
ah, and then why you’re calling me out for “the takes”
i already set language to english but the still one problem that keyboard that i pressing is not english this is looks like from germany
keyboard
what ?
u just make joking pff
then how removed those germany sticker ????
i'am just newbie dude
well, you pry the keycap from side and it should pop up if you do it properly
there’s always a risk it could break though the mechanism
also, they may not be standardized everywhere so,
you can have different mechanism on your specific model than what is common and just snap it entirely
so sticker is best option for safe way but wil it cover the word from germany ?
you’ll get used to it that they’re reversed it’s not that horrible.
this like where is heck of * symbole or € symbole
i'am europe guy a azerty user and going to learn qwerty because at school they all gonna full of qwerty keyboard so yea that why
mmm oe 2013
sry suck at english yea german layout i searching a english layout keyboar sticker
you can get literally the same things from aliexpress for 1/3 of the price
amazon sellers just resell the stuff from china for more
yes, it takes more time to arrive at your doorstep
also, more pricey if you don’t have prime as you’d have to also pay amazon for shipping.
i hear that aliexpress is not really safe a lot poeple got been scammed from this
you can get scammed from amazon too.
but by amazon can easy refunded right ?
also, not really. you won’t get scammed if you buy proper stuff from legit sellers on aliexpress
you can file a dispute on aliexpress too.
so far I hadn’t had a case where some aliexpress seller didn’t send me the stuff I ordered
those keyboard stickers from aliexpress are legit tho, questionable is the quality of the adhesive
on alixpress
it usually takes a month for the stuff arrive from aliexpress on the cheaper stuff
if you pay like 10 bucks it’s usually 2 weeks
different economy shippings
I don’t know either how they manage to send you the stuff to your doorstep for so cheap
I bought like $0.60 dielectric from aliexpress to test it
free shipping
they’re not no name entirely either
6020A lube and 6504 iirc
from “tube” brand
from the pics the 6020A really seemd like krytox 205
it was for printers supposively so, i had to buy it
and dielectric grease is not very cheap here
keyboard casual coming thru caught wind of something in passing
will HMX switches work in a Keychron K4 V2? heard something about socket stuff which uh, no clue about
yes, they’ll work
though if you don’t already own the K4 don’t buy it.
unless you want to mod it quite
yea I've had the thing for years
Keyboards be the one thing I prohibit myself from getting deep into
but tired of the gateron blues or whatever the heck are in it, and switches be cheep so might as well change them out finally
What mods are possible for it
i’d probably do PE foam mod, but that’s really up to you
its also one of the easier ones
Just changes the sound of it I assume?
yes
after hearing a demo yea might be worth doing that for me, we'll see
Guys I have 150 usd I want a 60% wkl keyboard what do I get
Wait can u send?
do white keycaps look good on a black keyboard?
i just want a 80% keyboard thats wireless and rgb
and white to match the setup
also clicky switches
i just got a keychron c2 but i want it to be a solid purple but its not in the default colors is there anything i can do? ik its capable of purple cus it shows up in the rainbow modes
that’s up to you tbh
So im buying a membrane keyboard since i dont have enough money to a mechanicall keyboard lol
What's your budget
There's probably some cheapo Chinese manud bent steel or integrated plate cases floating around
E.g. not great and super stiff
Any of the places that do acrylic cases should have one, or the files for one
does anyone know of a 65-75% keyboard with keycaps like this? the one here is sold out and i really want the stealth look
i want creamy switches preferably
most boards dont come with those kinds of keycaps, you would likely have to buy them seperately
so id just pick a board that you like and see if you can get it barebones, then buy switches and caps seperately
for switches i highly reccomend milktooth since they have a trial program where you can try switches before you buy them, and also have good prices
i already have a K65 that i use regularly, i was just looking for a 65% cause i want arrow keys but i can’t really afford to build a whole new keyboard rn lol
i’ve also found some keycaps for a set of them but the keycaps are for a 65% and i have a full size RShift
i actually found a cheap keycap set on amazon for $22, it says its double shot pbt and shine through, lemme grab the link
tragic
well the reviews also say the space bar doesn’t fit my specific keyboard so that’s gonna be a no go, does anyone have any decent 65% keyboard recommendations for around $80?
fully built, and preferably creamy switches
Fc660c
that’s double what i asked for 😭
Yeah you should buy that
keychron q1
v2*
and then get ktt kang white or akko cream yellow for cheap and change the switches
it’s like 65 keys right? Is there 65 switch kit? Cause I can only find 45
for the cream yellows
65% isnt 65 keys
just buy 2 45 packs
no i know, i just thought it was around 65, i looked it up, it was 64
depends on the keyboard
check aliexpress.
also, if keycaps are dirt cheap and shine thru, they’re most likely abs and not pbt
i assume it’s not a bad idea to get extra switches especially considering i’ve never swapped switches and might fuck up a few
my keyboard has nonstandard space bar size, so I just bought a keycap set from drop because they had a set with a space bar that fits my keyboard
how long is ur space
i’m not sure, i just know that the $22 kit didn’t fit it, as per the others in the reviews that say it doesn’t fit, but the one from Drop fits presumably
i’ll just return if it doesn’t
shill.
it’s a Corsair K65 Non-Pro
Waaaa
The $22 kit didn’t have it, so just bought a $40 kit from drop that looks really good and has a lot of spare caps for every keyboard in case i wanna switch keyboards but want to keep the same caps
should have 6.25u space
you’ll rarely find 6u spaces nowadays, 6.25u is the most common, then 7u, 6u and other are rarer
what’s the point of having a RGB keyboard/switches but not having shine through keycaps
if you buy a keycap set you’ll get 6.25u and 7u in the packpage usually
this is the one I bought from drop
Those are so ass
backlit
bruh 40 for these?
not well tuned stabilizers for such pricey keyboard
That’s like saying a Jane built with stock stabs isn’t worth the price
Not that a Jane is ever worth the price
yes
those are like
they tick, it still takes from the overall experience.
$20 max
you can tune them yourself but,
well… you’d expect something better from a $200 keyboard nowadays
Hm yes so every custom keyboard above 200$ built with stock stabs is bad because you need to tune them
If you’ve actually tried to tune topre stabs you’d know it’s not so much tuning and more just dumping as much dielectric grease as you can onto it
why would you expect fine "tuned" stabs on topre
But keep yapping about a keyboard you don’t own
you cant rly use mx logic on topre
Dinky is an idiot expect no less
well, keep yapping about sub f75 being bad. It has better tuned stabs from the factory than yours fc660c kek
what is the F75 btw?
And yet it’s still a shit feeling board
aula f75 from, epomaker x aulastar collab
not related to epomaker tbh
cause?
epomaker is just slapping their name on everything they sell
Cause it ain’t topre 💯
people who dont like tactiles wont like Topre most of the time
you can buy 4 of them at a price of one topre board
I sure as hell don’t see people selling everything and keeping f75s to quit LOL
mx blues
I would take a topre over 4 f75
even better kailh blues or outemu
Yes use your four pair of hands to use four mediocre keyboards
mx blue housing with a good tactile stem is yummy
not everyone has 200 bucks for a keyboard…
u can get pro 2s for around 130~ in total
And not everyone is as inflexible as you are
if ur willing to buy from china
if you’re willing to buy from china taobao has even bigger bargains w mx style boards
that is true
tbh buying from china is super easy
Taobao/Xianyu has a bunch of cheap keyboard stuff
y
u can get a set of C3 wires for 20rmb (like 3 bucks)
taobao is like heaven
m1 is 300rmb
can probably find cheaper on Xianyu
under 40 usd
Don’t bother explaining xianyu to him
There’s lots of cheap topre on there and his brain won’t be able to fathom it
lol
so many cheap pro 2s
even type-s
I should check it out
cant rly find pro 2 on taobao
If it’s not a brand from china you won’t find it for cheaper
Unless there is an existing markup on the global market
Then sometimes
Physical stores usually have markup yes?
and china is a different market
idk, its a official hhkb vendor tho so I dont think so
if you’ll find one at $50 i’ll accept defeat
also, you can get f75 from taobao for like $30*
i can probably find some sort of topre for around that price
cant promise its in good condition tho 😅
you cant even get a good mx for 50
depends what u consider good tbh
idk why ya guys hate flex cuts so much
sounds like shit
Being unable to find one in good condition for 50$ says enough about it’s value as a keyboard
uh and unmodded topre boards don’t?
You being poor is not my problem
i mean the pcb sounds fine
ngl unmodded realfoce sounds pretty good
ngl my r2 stabs sounds like fucking shit
also, why so much hate on foam? it’s better foam than no foam/silicone pad at all on hollow’ish plastic boards
literally just costdowning a board while it won’t sound bad.
personally i just dont like the foam sound
well I dont have a realforce so I cant say for sure but my friend's stock realforce sounds pretty good for me
is it a R1 mby?
does it have a massive forehead?
but hey , if u like foam , good for u , easy to find keyboards that u like
at the end of the day , its all preference
if u like flex cuts u like flex cuts
nah, that’s not my issue. my issue is the enormous hate from these three for the boards
they act like everyone has hundreds of dollars free to spend
on a keyboard
and argument is “ration your money”
what kind of argument is that
i spend too much on metal rectangles sadly
and pretty sure if someone can’t afford a $200 keyboard they won’t have high end pc either
normally i tell people to save their money if they have a working keyboard , and buy something nice
like if they actually want something nice
It’s just common sense really
Younger people want instant gratification
I was like that once and now I know better
what if they won’t want to spend more on a keyboard?
then dont?
^
want to spend more on their other peripherals or perhaps on their pc
some people just wanna buy a keyboard and be done with it
well, common sense is to recommend them a keyboard within their ask’d budget

If you knew that saving a bit more would get the person a truly great tried and true product instead of some random thing that’s alright for what it is but all things considered isn’t that special, would you still oblige them?
by a bit you mean double or triple, quadruple?
the $40 keyboards aren’t as bad as you think.
if you’d do with everything you’d scale your $1000 setup to $4000
4k is awesome over 1080p
oled is great over ips
your 3070 is no near close to a 4090
You realise that a great product doesn’t have to be the most expensive product right
The price of topre is extremely reasonable all things considered
ah, but you exaggurate how bad the sub $50 keyboards are
alot
They are bad
from nit picks to huge deals literally
I’m not nitpicking anything about these cheap keyboards
I say they are bad
In totality
Nitpicking is what you are doing bud
because you have more money than other people do, you don’t understand their perspective at all
you’d just super dense
I do understand their perspective
after all the explaining you still don’t get the point
I was a kid with no money too
Now that I’m older I wish I could’ve been more patient and just saved money to buy the best thing outright
ah, so wait years until you get a pc
or decades for some
you don’t understand their perspectives at all
you realize some people save three years to get a $700 pc
These people shouldn’t be thinking of unnecessary stuff like keyboards then?
Three years for 700$ is 19$ a month
You’re saying these people should spend three months worth of savings on a shit ass keyboard
define how shitty it is
you mean that part of diminishing results, which also is true with keyboards
I wonder how much better topre is over mx to 90% of people
take the f75 and your beloved topre board and ewaste oem keyboard, you’re telling me the f75 is closer to the oem e waste board feeling/sounding/feature wise?
sound and feature yes
You gotta be kidding
You don't know how rattly the spacebars are on those? How mushy on avg membranes are?, hollow, flawed?
You don't really have to spend alot to get a decent keyboard.
And 200 is alot for most people
If they ask for a keyboard they probably do
Likely an upgrade from whatever they own already
Yes??? Why would they be asking in the first place
60ms latency is not nice on those oem crap boards
If they're a gamer
And 60ms is fairly positive
.
S-Craft batch 10 drops today, Those Pokeball keycap holders have my wallet feeling uneasy rn
Too much
91u reaction
do you own any good keyboards
or is it all budget cope shit
By “good” you mean what
Again, what defines the f75 bad?
That you hate gaskets and flex cuts, that's your preference.
Just get a board without them, they're cheaper.
or buy a realforce
any keyboard recommendations under 100$ ?
looking for 60% one
mostly for gamming
don't care about sound or color
cheaper is prefer but up to 100$ is fine
rapid trigger would be nice if possible
Ok im looking for a 75% keyboard set that has a metal case, with a knob and optional wireless, also not really the best at modding so i would like a case that i wouldnt have to mod for thock, and then what switches should i get for thock lol, i have already looked at the keychron k1 but im not sure
keychron q1
dont bother with the K series
or monsgeek m1w with ws morandi or other thock switch

ms on screen keyboard
realforce
ant esports mk1300
one of the keyboards i have
it's pretty nice for almost $20
then there's the gamdias hermes e3
almost $50
i found a new for 150 should i cop?
thank you
Hey I’m new to keyboards does Corsair make any good full size mechanical keyboards? I need an upgrade from my razer ornata v2
corsair overpriced
Yeah but I have a lot of Corsair products in my pc and I don’t want another RGB app
After trying all kids of mech keeb layouts, switches, keycaps, etc etc over the years
I've decided the og apple magic keyboard (2008) (I got it for $5 lol) ..is gonna be my daily for awhile, maybe indefinatly.. possibly forever
Idk how long but I really need a detox from mechs
I'm 2 days in
tbh its kinda refreshing not using a mech
I'm still not quite adjusted to the short key travel tho
just use signalrgb
is it the good or bad apple keyboard
as in is the travel insanely short or normal laptop feel
Normal laptop feel
Just not used to it on desktop tho
I have a 2009 mbp that I enjoy typing on
it's useless for everything except light libreoffice work but it's still cool
It feels like my acer vero keeb but with heaver key caps
The newer acer laptop keycaps are very thin
Despite being membraine I would probably consider this an upgrade over my rk61
It just feels so much more elegant ad mature
Idk about my heavily modded wk61.. just incomparable
They both scratch a different itch ya know
I mean yeah
rk61 is unreliable asf
and chiclet is just good
Personally my rk61 has been very reliable for the 3 or 4 years I've had it
maybe I just got a good one?
Idk how consistant the qc is
I've been really rough with it btw
yea most likely
the pcbs are the only major point of failure afaik
I've swapped in so many different switches over the years with no broken sockets so far
I've swapped browns, blues, mily yellows, optical yellows, glorious lynx and probably a few more I forgor
I plan to chuck in nixies in it some day
I've spent so much more money on switches than keyboards :P
sockets are less of a concern than the pcb itself
hmmm
damn
Well I'm using mine with my livingroom TV rn cuz its the wireless version
Ive chucked and thrashed it around on the couch
Dropped it a few times
Spilled drinks on it several times
that board has seem some shit
Like the entirety of top gear and south park
rare instance of an rk61 lasting more than 6 months
I had no idea it was so bad for some people
I have so much faith in mine
its like old reliable
Its my old reliable
Is it wired?
I cant get the usb passthrough to work on mine
It works in the bios but in linux in windows the usb no worky
mbp = macbook pro
oh
i havent had any issues with my rk61, but its an old model where hotswap wasnt even on the board and they were using their own switches (they sucked)
does anybody know this keyboard? ThundeRobot Wired Mechanical Keyboard Red switch K87R-GL
£150 i want thonk GIMME SUGGESTIONS
At the moment I am a bit confused:
I wanted to get the keyboard here:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0CCP6HLZR?ie=UTF8&asc_campaign=&asc_source=&asc_refurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rtings.com%2Fkeyboard%2Ftools%2Fcompare%2Fobinslab-anne-pro-2-vs-8bitdo-retro-mechanical-keyboard%2F1691%2F41609%3Fusage%3D9048%26threshold%3D0.10
However people recommended me the keychron v5 but it doesn't have that click I am looking for so how would I go about finding a keyboard that would give me that clicky noise that 8bitdo keyboard gives?
Realforce
Realforce? Why such an occultic keyboard?

they’re jokes of #peripherals i’d just ignore them cause they don’t listen nor have common sense for people with a limited budget.
humongous topre board shills.
It’s getting annoying
do what?
you’re recommending/shilling niche products
don’t respect people’s budget at all, if they ask for a $50 keyboard you answer hhkb or realforce
you guys r just spamming it at this point*
like?
for the last time. not everyone has $200+ to spend on a topre board
yes they can be gotten cheaper but not everyone wants to be sniping for them in china/japan/etc. or want used.
that’s argument for you recommending people topre boards
you can get topre much cheaper like that but… you can also get mx style boards much cheaper like that too
you just used the same argument for topre boards not too long ago
also, superbuy ain’t the best
Stop projecting dinky
Nobody gave you the right to classify us
If anything, you’re the joke here
Do you want me to talk about the spreadsheet you made documenting what you think of the staff you’ve talked to in this server
Dude is such a loser it’s crazy
I plan on reusing my current keyboard and mouse for my MacOS setup so uh, keyboard recommendations for gaming PCs? I just need a numpad and not wireless keyboard ya know, nothing to fancy or crazy expensive 🤷♀️ (wired keyboards are often cheaper so just wired keyboard recommendations)
realforce
jamesdonkey rs2
Those are like 300 - 400 bucks bruh
just ignore him
and worth every dollar (when bought second hand)
when you are into keyboards yeah
but when you just want a kbd to start off
mx is the better option
Unfortunately its unavailable on Amazon but I will check out my local PC shop to see if they have it :)
unlikely
Damn.
ajazz aj992 or akko 3108/3098
Keyboards a keyboard, lol. I just need something good quality for a decent price
no?
Thanks :)
Exactly what I'm looking for, especially the Aj992, decent price, numpad, and wired.
AHAHHAHAHAHAHA
get a cheaper membrane then
go on sure
at least they are not recommending RK
old rk boards suck
well, it can be but they upcharge
also kinda funny when hhkb did mx it was more expensive
hhkb studio
mb
i also wish there was more keycaps for topre
without having to use mx sliders to get mx keycap compatibility (even then u risk running into interference with cherry profile)
ajazz = epomaker
does that matter? epomaker is everywhere tbh
even hi75 has something to do with epomaker iirc
epomaker horrible company
if you get the board I don't care
tbh most companies have horrible support
and shady to some extent
nice board
Happy to annouce the best ltt tier list V1.0.0.02 (this method mostly works for anyone who wants to lose some braincells!!) ad It rates people of the tc1!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18Z43_rsOncasz4EJWc2GKQBBxFqfrnH5VUX73GJkF9g
that was april 1st
good to know
wym "good to know" it's literally written in it
idk I didn't pay much attention to it
no?
april first or not spending effort on something like this is omega lame LOL
explains, cause it wasn't about the mods in your stinky server at all
...
yes? and it was all april fool

you are not making it sound any better
uh, cause you clearly missed the fool
not only you thought it was legit despite the clear signs of poor grammar and hidden jokes but also messing up entire server
thats really just what I expect from you at this point
can't blame me for your own behavior really
uh, more than half of these answers were because you guys said "f75 sucks" or such
also, you guys answer "realforce" to basicly anyone looking for a board without considering their budget.
he should do it again
work has been picking up and I don't have the energy to argue with him 😭
I actually wonder if any of you ever had an epomaker -related board
just wonder\
ah yes
I recently got one of the new alienware qdoleds
oled is fire
real feelsgoodman moment
this is my first one too
great value
got it with an early bird discount
the one thing I really like about dell is their service is quite good
and the included accessories are basically what they give to enterprise customers
like cables etc
dell represent!!!!
coincidentally have an xps too lol
not dell till 2006, then dell ruined everything in 2009
also recently got one of those micro form factor mini pcs they make
makes for a great plex and qbittorrent server
LOL why does it look like they just reused one of their old molds and cut a numpad sized hole in it
ah i see
i mean if theyre in the price range idm either
ill have a lookie
DrunkDeer A75 or razer huntsman mini ?
looking for rapid trigger keyboard
DrunkDeer A75 is 130$ but if there is a cheaper and better rapid trigger keyboard i won’t mind
Here’s my new board, keychron q6pro, Kailh bronze moded I swapped 20g springs and lubed them, key caps are drop mt3’s
I plan on switching the switches to box crystal jades with the same 20g springs, I don’t like the stems on the coppers too much key wobble
I also need to pick up 4 artisan keycaps for those grey keys above the numpad
What do we think of my selection?
Good keyboard bad switches and keycaps
personally I wouldn't use a linar switch I like click bars
Most prefer linears
I was a tactile guy, hated click jackets. I discovered click bar switches and now its a requirement
What are click bar
instead of a click jacket like a cherry blue they have a little metal bar the stim hits and as it goes past it makes the click
look at a box jade taken apart
Oh so louder clickys
eh depends on the thickness of the click bar
My roomate has a fightstick with the switches and I like them, the keycaps are temporary
I don’t recommend cheaping out on keycaps
alps clickleaf:
I forgot to post this build, its a drop alt, with milky yellows, and that keycap set is the jtk night sakura, and i think it looks sick
buy a sho
What do you guys use for makeshift keyboard risers. My stupid keychron didn't come with any and it's getting annoying

Damn I picked up a Womier SK71 for work setup and... its so nice!
I kinda want to get a keychron with the numpad on the left for my next keyboard build
q12 is goated, watch out for qc issues with the stabs tho
I've got the q6 pro currently I tried going aftermarket stabs but man I hated them had to go back to the keychron stabs almost immediatly
the stock stabs on my q12 tick horrendously but ig thats what i get when i buy it open box
like to the point where i can hear it through headphones
huh my stock stabs don't do that and I also bought my k6 open box, moron returned it because the bluetooth didn't work
I think they just didn't look up the right way to put it into pairing mode
I almost went with another 1800 layout but decided to go full size
I now have a full size, 1800 and 60% mechanical boards lol.
Should’ve bought a realforce
haven't heard of them plus microcenter carries like all of keychron now
