Pulsar mice
Kool asus 🐸
Did any of u guys build ur own keyboards? I bought the stuff needed for it a while back but haven’t felt the need to build it yet
yeah
yea
how was it. im trying to get myslef to assemble my stabs but i just cant get myslef to do it
got the zoom75
mine was pretty easy
it was just time consuming
has to harvest an old board and solder the switches to a new pcb
How do people fuck up this bad? 💀
in the bin
japan
so true
Ever feel dysphoria with having a standard 60% rather than an HHKB?
But HHKB's are too expensive.. HHKB layout kits are also super expensive
and the only option is to do full on diy and hand wire the thing, fabricate a case and build the whole thing yourself
At least I have another project to live for
||Wow you don't know that much wow||
No.
Ok well your new to this
welcome aboard!
:D
whatchu looking for in a keyboard? im bored and kinda wanna make a pcb
is handwire quieter?
oh wait i thought
i messed up names somehow
my b!
Its funny.. you dont know what you want in a keyboard until you have like 5 of them
then you realize you want somthing else again
then you keep buying and spending and thinking and buying and spending and thinking
..then you realize the best keyboard for you is the one you already have
me continuously getting smaller keebs
psyco
im down to 36 rn, but looking to design a 30 key
which can double as a 15 key
(split 30 key bluetooth board in the works currently)
If I could go back and tell myself back before I bought any keeb
"don't listen to your dumb child brain.. don't buy an rk61, instead buy the cheapest HHKB lite 2 you can find on ebay and never ever build a custom mech keyboard no matter how much you struggle to resist the urge"
its slightly bigger than a credit card >:D
gonna make a keychain wallet board basically
i may have gone too deep
I kinda want to buy a really really cheap HHKB lite 2 and get rid of all my expensive boards so I can kinda go back to being a somewhat normal person
i cant stand row stagger tbh, but ortho is... not easy to find
all my current boards :D
(i have a type)
does not include my custom mouse
which is kinda jank :c
non staggered boards seem comfy as heck.. but I couldn't imagine looking at that all day
I wouldn't feel any sense of pride its just too ugly
funny, i find the reverse to be true for me
asymmetrical stagger just bugs my eyes
tbh katana60 stagger hits a sweet spot
symmetrical, consistent stagger
the bottom right board is the katana stagger btw
:P
people who shit on any normal mechanical keyboard aren't real keyboard enthusiasts.. (exception being if there is some comparable option for cheaper)
real ones will go crazy over some old rubber domes from the 80's and even typewriters
eventually your gonna probably discover topre (which you just kinda sorta have) "space alien switches" and alps and all kinds of other standards out there besides cherry mx
honestly keyboard is keyboard :) if keeb work for you then keeb is keeb
those all sound like mx
honestly keyboard is keyboard :) if keeb work for you then keeb is keeb
real
all of those are cherry mx standard
cherry is not only a brand of switch.. think of it like the ATX desktop component standard
the whole switch
the only differences sometimes is that some switches aren't compatible with some PCB's
For example | 3 pin (plate mount) | 5 pin (pcb mount) -But it doesnt have more connections.. its 2 little plastic nubs on the bottom
^
correct
just buy whatever switch u want...
:c?
i havent found a choc switch i like yet
also waiting on the silent tactiles to debut and i dont look forward to desoldering from an integrated board tbh
pro2 off buyee
all them blow
tall feels good
low profile feels like shit
mechanical low profile
chiclet is fine but have fun making a custom chiclet board
exactly
gimme a good low profile option for making customs and ill do it
until then ill stick to whats avail
i guess gateron ks could also work
where can i even get ML
BUT, cfx spacing
smol
xda is mx spaced?
thats a whole 10mm x 6mm bigger
fair
but im gonna stick to choc v1
and wait for the ambients
easy to find 17mm caps
unless i went philly min
hmm
Person I know is having a problem with their macbook where when they do command d, it pastes what he has copied instead.
@ me solutions please
command D duplicates
What about in VS Code?
I just opened up a temu membrane keyboard and my eyes were burning from how gross it is
burn the keyboard
I think the fumes might kill his entire household
hey! i wanted to know what are some of the best flagship full 100% gaming mechanical keyboard on the market? in terms of software features offered, the amount of buttons? etc??
no budget limit, and i really dont care about the switch performance or anything. i just like features
apex pro
wait....are they better than mechanical?
so this is the best magnetic switch keyboard?
it says analogue keyboard
its the same thing
Guys does anyone have a razer tartarus v2? Review plz
in terms of feel no
youtube
it's a razer keyboard so it'll be overpriced and sub par
Yea i saw some but i everyone sayd its the best or its garbage
Also yea but i dont have space
I'd me more concerned about the rest of my setup than buying a one handed keyboard
just stay away from it
ive seen dozens of pro´s and youtubers say that these one handed gaming keyboards are bs
just buy a regular good gaming board or whatever
i was probably one of the best battlefield players in central europe in terms of score per match etc etc and managed that on a corsair k40 membrane board
so just stick with a regular board
Well congrats and ok ill see what i can do
Ok
And whats a cheap around 80 euros gaming keyboard? (Mechanical if possible)
no need to congrats just saying to not waste cash on bs
what size ?
full size or 60% or what
favorited

I can't edit but I am buying a drawing tablet once I dig myself outta the pit of keyboards I wanna buy

how many realforce can one person really need tho
professionally drawn realforce
I'm only buying one
more realforces
is 2 topre boards not enough
what about 3
zapybara seems cool
cip?
i just searched topre sounds and
is it supposed to sound kinda dry/rattly?
and loud
so loud
ambients sunrise sound like an interesting switch
wish theyd get in stock soon
nocturnal too
slightly better
but still loud
eh
sad
why is it so wet goddamn
type-s might interest you
no
topre sounds good
sounds loud
my pro3 was hardly loud
idk
it just sounds weird
oh you got water in the background
lol
What mods can I do without desoldering my keyboard
One I can think of is tape but idk what else
i like both but full is my way to go
anyone know a good pink keybaord for around £50 - 60
akko
hello kitty realforce
yeah good luck finding one under 60 £
akko
check out Akko
thats like double my budget
Akko? Thats new. Ill check it out
isnt it like 500 usd
is that real
they're not that good in terms of cost aside from maybe their keycaps
yes
they are alright, the plastic is not cheap and sounds decent with slight mod/unmodded
I've used a set and yeah they're pretty decent for the price afaik
Lo, i need some recommendations, must have the following;
Must be UK ISO
Southfacing RGB, hotswappable
Must inc numpad or at least a 96%
Must have wireless/blutooth, preferably 2.4ghz, usb or all
A knob or other media controls
Was thinking Keychron Q6 pro (but cant find it for sale anywhere) or Epomaker TH96, any others i should consider?
thats a forty?
lol thats at a reasonable price
Not everyone has $250
don’t feed the trolls
hey guys, quick question. i have a broken razer keyboard, it does not register any keystrokes but the rgb still works. i already got a new keyboard, is there a way to have the old keyboard on display, with lights on, without plugging it into a computer? won't it break if i plug it into for example a phone charging usb block?
5v power supply
A phone charger should work if the output voltage is 5v
thanks guys!
you want it?
I bought it for like 400aud from marketplace like 2 years
so I'll sell it for like 220aud
so 144usd
Seems overpriced for a used $400 keeb
What do u guys feel about the akko mod 007b he? I know its been out for a while but i just want to know
wooting
Atrocious take
I'm going to shoot myself
Also how tf you find that on superbuy
Search on superbuy is ass
Overpriced is crazy
Should’ve bought one while I was in china
Feeling like I need one for work 😭
I learned it over time thanks to those caps on my realforce lol
Geekhack vinyl is crazy
even know of sellers in the EU that sell for 145€ with 19% vat
har har
Nope, friend of mine got one from him already
hey ppl. what yall think about logitech g950?
interesting that it uses choc
but just like other gaming keyboard its overpriced
and not that good
Exactly you should buy realforce instead
topre propaganda spotted
opinion rejected
It’s not propaganda if it’s true 🫡
Topre go shishwshishwshish
Logitech, Razer, Corsair, and the common consumer best buy microcenter brands are generally overpriced or mid at best
The deciding factor I've usually seen is if the software has some feature you really like, or if you neeeeed the media buttons
..but generally there are better boards out there for the same price and often even cheaper
Recently I've been thinking of buying an hhkb
But I don't wanna spend $200+ on a keeb 😭
Lite 2?
It's not topre but is it any good?
no
I've seen them for as low as $30 on ebay
maybe there is a reason why they go as low as $30 on ebau
Like.. even just to try out the layout without breaking the bank?
no
allright, thanks
:)
then just get a hhkb layout mx or something
i think i paid around 130usd for my Pro 2 from China
thats with international shipping
hhkbs cost less than their mx equivalents if you know where to find them cheap (cn market)
⌨️ Keychron K2 Pro Aluminum Frame
⚙️ Outemu Silent Cream Yellow switches
🔑 Glacier Mario key caps
- Mario gold block key from China with a Z on the hat 😂
those keycaps are dope
amazon special
the gold block ive had for years forgot where i got it, assuming china lol
what price im looking at for a decent cheap mechanical keyboard with like brown switches or quiet?
50usd
keychron
issue: argentina availability of hardware is so-so
Being financially responsible while being a keyboard enthusiast is impossible
I refuse to spend more than $75 on a build
I just wanna build my endgame keeb and get this shit over with tbh
but that's not quite how it works
Its like chasing horsepower
"If I tuned the carb like this and put some new headers on it I could squeeze another 50hp out of it I swear"
Just like keyboard people are always chasing a better and better sound
I'm so tempted to get rid of everything and go back to a membrane board I swear
me when im about to drop $120 on pcbs assembly
just one more prototype and ill get my endgame
i swear
I would hate to build a $200+ board and then it turns out I want a different layout, or aesthetic, or aluminum over acrylic.. then turns out Ile probably stop using it in a few months
I want to build 1 expensive keeb and have it last life
But its like you don't know what you truly like until you've tried literally everything
swirches are one thing but then there is layout, wired/wireless/bluetooth, rgb, underglow, weight, etc etc
I rlly thought a year ago that the rk61 would be the last board I would ever buy
I was all like
"oNg I'm just like everyone else with a small keyboard with rgb ong ong"
snot violently runs down nose
pain 27 (or whatever its called)?
nonexistent shift
yeah its the pain 27 not the pain 28
i just want a good mechanical keyboard that is pre assembled for cheap
Same bro.. same
rk61- case likes to crack
wk61- hot swap sockets like to pop out
tester68- case likes to crack in fricking half
redragon- the name redragon sounds like another unrelated ||nsfw|| brand
literally any sub $20 used gaming keeb- most likley not hot swap.. also probably 100% layout with media keys and takes up a metric butload of space
Honestly I give up
keyboards are a horrible hobby
oof
logitech is very hit or miss
g513, g815?
honestly qc issues only shine through if you mod your keeb all the time like alot of us do
otherwise you don't have to worry so much
also fyi there is nothing you can do on a full size that you can't do on a 60%
numpad
literally just buy a hhkb from china
exept have a physical numpad correct
just prefer all the keys available
wish i could get a 106 keyboard too
for no reason, just to have all the keys that exist
fc980c
through, customization is going to suck since it was released after the g hub transition (no lgs support)
argentina here, so availability is something
high tax payments for imported products
and shipping
ROCK POW
an effort was made
Hello everyone!
I hope all of you is having/had a great day!
I am coming here because I'm looking to buy a keyboard that probably doesn't exist - so I might need some help to get the right parts to build it...!
Here is what I'm looking for:
96%, 98% or 1800 sized keyboard
ISO-FR layout
Low profile
Any kind of tactile switches
Because this keyboard doesn't exist I thought of buying a keyboard with full heigh switches, an ISO layout and the right size and keycaps, like the Keychon K4 Pro or the Cooler Master MK770, then changing the switches and keycaps!
Unfortunately, both manufacturers advised me against after reaching them because they couldn't tell me if it would work.
K4 Pro ISO https://www.keychron.com/collections/french-iso-keyboards-collection/products/keychron-k4-pro-qmk-via-wireless-mechanical-keyboard-iso-layout-collection
MK 770 (an ISO version exists) https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/peripheral/keyboards/mk770/
So I need to go DIY but I don't know anything about keyboard building.
I just know that I can probably use these keycaps:
https://keychron.fr/products/keychron-france-iso-layout-low-profile-abs-full-set-keycap
Would anyone be kind enough to point me in the right direction, please? I would greatly appreciate it!
I didn't know about it and it looks super cool! Unfortunatley, it doesn't fit my needs 😦
Is there anyone available who could assist me with my keyboard? It's a SteelSeries Apex 5, and the space bar simply wont go down anymore. Apparently its something to do with the equalizers.
I honestly didnt know where else to go to ask about this cause YouTube videos werent helpful
take out the spacebar keycap and send a pic
excuse the disgusting junk ive had it for like 2 years
can you press down the switch (the blue thing)
unlikely that it’s broken, but just to be sure
then the stabs are issue, probably broken off
they seem to be plate mounted, take tweezers press down specific part of the stabilizer housing and pull them out, there are youtube videos how to do it
oh you could
the piece that i put pressure on to take them out
isnt there on the left side
the left little thing
it just comes out whenever i take the right out
you think thats the problem?
it seems you assembled them incorrectly
how did you manage to break them btw
they were working fine earlier then i took them out
just to check them out
and now theyre fucked lmao
when i tried to put them back in, which i thought i did right
the wire ends should go through the middle section of the pole part
you just assembled them incorrectly
just put the wire through the middle section
and make sure you placed the poles themself the right way
its like
let me show a pic from the bottom
i thought i did it right, they slide right into the actual keyboard ut maybe i put the metal shit in wrong
what about the other one
Same thing, I didn't know about it and it's super cool looking, but I need exactly what I've listed because of tons of reasons 😭
ignore them.
I did find some low-profile keycaps, but then I don't know where to find the rest of the parts (I've never looked into DIY keyboards)
It is a deal breaker unfortunately
Else I could go with the available, full profile (is that the correct way to say it?) keyboards!
Exactly! So I'm pretty sure I need to build it myself
I did find low profile keycaps!
https://keychron.fr/products/keychron-france-iso-layout-low-profile-abs-full-set-keycap
But that's all I could find to start a build 😅
Buy leopold
Hello there Keyboard folks: Im looking for a new Keybaord, currently i have Razer green switches i like the Feeling, but i want something significant more silent, you got recommendations ?
You're right about it being "light". It's barely noticeable.
Cherry MX Brown best tactile switch on earth ever
Holy Bobas? Wtf is that
Anyone else here have a Moonlander? Or am I the only crazy one?
Can anyone with my with this
It keeps doing stuff like e is opening my file explorer
prob win lock or soething
waited for these for about 9+ years, and they're finally happening
https://apos.audio/products/linus-tech-tips-keycaps?sca_ref=5267541.vk0UQi7Lkr

bruh it doesnt support anything below a tkl (at least the ones with a standard design)
? I think you mean ones with a non standard layout. all the keys are there for a standard 60%, 75%, TKL
heck the embed literally has a smaller than TKL board
that'd be a non standard layout
how about 65% and 75% then
thats a pretty shit kit tbh...
''With thick 0.5mm PBT keycaps''
so 0.5mm is thick?
did they mean 1.5mm?
even my cheapest dye-sub pbt set is 1.5 mm
won't support most 65% boards btw
also 💀 0.5mm PBT 5 side dyesub
with no actual product images, just renders
they dont even have ISO support smh
ooft
''but also sound profile''

even basic ABS is probably above 1mm thickness
some cheap abs from aliexpress
theres a close up of them in the latest vid for a total of 6 seconds
they look ok'ish but not worth the price
colors look bad
warped a ton
and even as blurry as they are there the legends don't look especially sharp
.5mm they'd warp if you looked at em funny
this does not look straight
yea then don't make 0.5mm PBT dyesubs
it's not
but 0.5mm is considered thick when it comes to keycaps
that is thinner than DCS
lol, just measured the thickness of the caps on my old cherry mx-board 3.0; 1.26mm
I got 30€ keycaps that they pose no challenge to

jc studio caps are too op
unironically very big recommendation if you want decent beige (PBT) caps
regardless of budget
i dont like PBT
yea I doubt it
doesn't matter, they still have all the actually detrimental features of 5 side dyesub
gotta be a typo, even the thinnest crappy caps I've gotten from aliexpress are 1mm thick
unless they're talking thickness around the stem?

can't expect good deals if you buy weird layouts
(though realistically they would not be much more expensive)
XMI prices got kinda stupid sadly
$25 abs blanks

literally 29€ caps
enchantment table
that is an actual language that is in use today
or do you prefer them without sublegends
that ain't R5
just bad lighting + bad camera + angle + giant ass cherry lip on that board
good board
good caps
would recommend
it's a kijou fyi
my second preferred layout
- the kind of mounting works best in a smaller board
I can only open the first one
but I had quite a good experience with akko cream yellow
especially i boards with less foam
Alr
they all open for me lol
keycaps
if you can find it I would say sugar65 is better than the gmk67
but gmk67 is alright
what language
hebrew?
can't find it in the uk
Lysol
yes
im waiting for Julie60
indeed
might also join the blitz GSR
I might
11 degree typing angle
prob not tho
Another reason to buy realforce
This is the best gaming keyboard.
I have a question about Macro keyboards if anyone is familiar.
Do all of these keyboards need to use the software from the seller page? Or can I just use any macros software made to keybind these things?
My other question is that I see a lot of "Mute" buttons etc being sold and used by streamers, does that work the same way as having a mini macro keyboard? Im seeing the software for the ones im looking at just has you map the keys to a existing key on your main keyboard vs giving you extra keys to use. Do any of them work like this or are they all just boards you bind to a key on your main keyboard and within certain programs you just bind it to a key on your keyboard and then bind that key with the one you want on your corresponding macro keyboard?
Also for things like what I mentioned earlier with specific tasks like muting all audio input or output, would that be something you have to program or is that more so a keybind you must make for the existing mute button on the software being used? Because im thinking a universal mute button is cool but it sounds too easy to be true and im not sure thats how it works
guys I know this isn't a mouse channel but there is none
Im wondering if I should replace any of my gaming accessories.
I have a hyperx alloy fps pro as my keyboard and a razer deathradder essential mouse which one should I replace if any of them?
Are any of these accessories currently broken? Are any of these accessories lacking features you actually need? If the answer to both questions is "no" or "not really, but..." then don't replace them.
nope nothing wrong with them at all! Thanks for the answear
No problemo. To be clear, I'm not trying to shit on anyone's parade - if you've got the money and replacing them solves a problem or otherwise makes you happy, go ham! But also... don't replace what isn't broken? 😄
I thought about changing them because I had my keyboard for 2+ years and my mouse was cheap but thats really it. You are right If its not broken why replace it?
I'll put that money into my desk.
I see Drunkdeer a75 on Amazon Canada. How's their rapid trigger compare to steelseries and razer? I'm gonna check some reviews when I get back to my pc
Rainy75 any good?
Realforce is better
Yes
Prolly the cheapest fully built alu keyboard
You can work around to get some leobog hixx kit + switches and keycaps for cheaper, but the hi75 is prolly made from slighly cheaper aluminium
If you don't want to build your keyboard youself rainy 75 excellent aluminium choice at the price
It ain't perfect ofc most of the issues prolly being gasket inconsitencies, but no truly keyboard is perfect especally when preferences go in mind
i can only get 80+ wpm on a laptop keyboard/flat keyboard 💀
not bad at all
no
Looks good haters
oh, i blocked them all
Lol are they the trolls of #peripherals
can someone recommend me a cheap keyboard
they: hhkb , topre better most of the time instead of reasonable answer
It’s not worth to argue with them
in short yes.
That's funny I mean I'm all about nice stuff but rainy75 seems decent for the price for sure, some people are just cranky
there’s nothing particularly wrong/ deal breaking about the rainy 75 itself
the poorest thing about it is prolly the gasket inconsistency, that’s about it
on a typical gaming keyboard the list of complaints would go on forever tbh
Exactly
I've almost bought keyboards dozens of times and bailed because I just wasn't convinced but it's cheap enough where it can be an 8 or 9/10
why even ask for an opinion if you seem to have already made up your mind about the product
looking for validation again? 🤓
best keyboard mod for for silence?
Lubing + put foam
Or use more quieter switches.
The switches a little bit.
You know like the bottom where the keyboard back panel meets the keyboard stuff.
So that it reduces sound resonating inside the empty parts of the keyboard.
oke ill try
ty
Np
I think I don't have enough patience for this
Haha I had that issue as well when I was trying to mod my membrane keyboards a bit.
It takes some time.
You really only need a dash if these are mechanical switches.
But it will consume about 10-15 mins of your time.
you should never be asking thst if you're going to so it yourself
Wrong
Because I figured someone might actually provide information "no"
I don't think you read anything at all
the information provided was positive, the two people he responded two are the ones that just said "no"
nuhuh
anyways lads enough chit chat
I'm getting a GMK87
He asked for an opinion and got one, albeit short.
If he wanted a reason, he would've asked.
Instead he says "looks good haters"
its pretty easy to see his preconceived opinion of the keyboard just from that
I should know, he did the same thing with his headphones lmao
keyboards are all about preference , personally i would not say the rainy75 is bad , but i would not call it good , as its not up to my standards
agreed. i have a ||dell|| keyboard
if u are happy with ur keyboard thats all that matters
100% but there are some exeptions like its not prefrence wether mechanincal is better than lets see if i can say it without throwing up membrane
there are people who prefer membrane keyboards
average techbro's opinion on keyboards
but ye , membrane is shit
Fr that’s not even a opinion that’s a fact
yeah chiclet is unusable clearly
Any dell/hp keyboard sucks prove me wrong
Probably a better keyboard than yours 🤡
you could do worse than hyperx keyboards for sure
which are hp
I never said there wasent worse
nice mouse
Thanks the left button doesn’t work
I don’t know
serial
I bought a keyboard from AliExpress and I’m gonna mod it
I like the color
that poor rctrl
Anyone got any good full size cherry mx blue keyboard reccomendations? (idc if it's cherry mx blue as long as it feels like it and sounds like it). Let's say at absolute maximum I'm willing to spend $200 (lower is ALWAYS better tho)
I'm using this rn
it's an 11 year old keyboard that's been through multiple people
steelseries apex pro tkl yes or no?
unless you can get it cheap no
It’s discounted at half the price rn
That’s why I asked
how much
Was 150 now 99
well, that’s technically not half the price but -33% price cut, not worth it.
What about the wooting?
Because I’m just trying to find a alternative to the wooting without the big price tag
Meaning?
wait a year or so for the chinese to get rapid trigger right
I was thinking of getting a epomaker keyboard if not
i mean, two thirds of those cheap custom kbs have something to do with epomaker, which one?
Aula f75
yes, i happen i own one
Reviews of it ?
youtube
And does the switches matter or is it all aesthetic?
keycaps you mean?
Nah I mean switches
switches do make feel, sound difference y
if you want to buy the f75 pick the cheapest leobog reaper version, i would not pay extra for the ttc crescent? and the third one which i forgot
don’t expect to get the best switches with a $30-60 keyboard but, they’re good. for $30-60 keyboard.
Oh ok thanks for the help and advice
they also have lower actuation point than advertised, atleast it seems from my experience. you may or may not find that nice, for me it didn’t cause me to mistype more often than usual
rog rx switches on the other hand yikes
I was mainly looking for a keyboard with the rapid trigger effect
But I might wait out on it
Because atm I have a really crappy membrane keyboard and want to upgrade
? they are great switches
yes, they’re good but due to the lower actuation force and point, they made me often mistype
LMAO
i don’t know what’s about them but they’re the only light switch i have skill issue typing on
do you know any good looking and quiet keyboards?
i'm kinda new to pc's and trying to build my first good looking set up
define good looking

how hard would it to bring back an old keyboard that the original Manufacturer discontinued (ie. SteelSeries MERC Stealth Gaming Keyboard) Linus did a vidio review of it awhile ago. IMO it was one of the best keyboards i have had. I cant find a replacement or anything that comes close unless you buy 2 or 3 devices to replace it. If anyone know a way to get something like this keyboard would be a great help>
Basically I wanted to see the gaming terrain feature of this keyboard in person. That's the only reason for this unboxing :P
Idk, the only thing i know is that it has to be black
(and quiet)
I asked because i don't know which ones look good
It sounds wierd but it is what it is
ok, maybe i asked the wrong question
which types of switches are silent?
cos every site on google tells me diffrent things
Rate my keyboard sounds i puted foam and 3 layers tape
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
beautiful

what do yall think of the ajazz ak820 pro for my first budget keyboard
any suggestions?
I put 10 layers of tape in my keyboard is that bad?
What do you mean “bring back”?
you’d have to design and print your own PCB and then create custom parts to make them all fit together
Unless you mean you have one and it broke and you’re trying to fix it?
my old blue switch keyboard fucked itself over, any recommendations for a keyboard under 150 aud
the foam was so thick I could barely close it
btw can anyone explain what is thock or poppy or creamy
lingo bullshit describing how a keyboard sound
if I wanted a keyboard kinda like blue switches but not as clangy idk how to explain, would you know any
I mean I don't mind modifying a keyboard
I kinda don't want to fuck it up though
also one of my old keyboards has hot swappable swappable switches so if you guys have any switch recommendations that would be appreciated
@lime ridge since you want clicky, kailh box white is one rec
I've kinda grown over the really loud clicky keyboards, but I do like the feel of them, are there any quieter ones with a similar feeling.
Kb with deadening, lubed, O rings.
realforce
explain in English please
oki
oh those are mods
I was looking at the aula f75 which sounded nice but idk how I would replicate that
not replicate it exactly but something similar
like switches wise
realforce
could you send the link
you got 2 eyes and an empty search bar
for keyboards like those would there be a large difference between wired and wireless (I'm gonna be playing competitive games with it)
I wouldn't play a competitive game on any wireless keyboard
unless it's got a wireless implementation like mice
would you have any recommendations for wired compatible keyboards?
I'm not aware of any keyboards with a wireless implementation like current wireless mice
and if it did exist, it'd probably be some gaming thing
yes
2.4ghz dongle etc
pretty sure there are wireless gaming keyboards , that use 2.4ghz dongle
well yes
there's a lot of them
most akko wireless keyboard use 2.4
their hall effect keyboard looks nice too
I hate topre stabs
thats a genuine skill issue
the only tuning you need is a healthy glob of superlube
Pls don't kill me 🙃
Thoccc
Akko’s wireless usually have noticeable latency
And quite shit range
it's still 2.4 ghz
Recently built my first custom keyboard. Was considering getting the LTT keycaps however I unfortunately have the slightly less common 108 full size keyboard layout and it appears the LTT set only fully supports the more common 104 full size keyboard layout. It really is a shame that of all the extra keys to include apos went with redundant keys instead of supporting both 108 and 104 key layouts.
That’s why you get a 60%. Almost all keycap sets fit
I've tried 60% before however I always end up going back to 100% because I do end up using the full set of keys.
I happen to use software that utilizes the entire F row and numpad is just superior for number entry. I also find the extra 4 keys very useful for quick and easy media control.
ltt set sucks anyways for the price iirc
thin pbt
oof, probably better then that I picked up my secondary choice of keycaps
the ltt set has some warping issues
visible from the pictures
atleast
the price is a other thing. they are overpriced or pricey based on if you really want the asthetics
so, if you got that aliexpress seeming set if i’m correct, it’s fine.
chinesium dye sub pbt sets for 20 bucks are top
for the price
it's Yunzii coffee cat, I purchased it on amazon for about that much
aliexpress keycap set category, you can buy it from ali too
ermm, it doesn’t matter. if you’re happy
amazon retailers just buy it and resell
I'm aware
they feel fine and I have Cherry MX2A silent rgb red switches so it sounds great as well
Hey gd day I'm looking for a pink gaming mouse any recommendations?
https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/gaming-mice/pro-x-superlight-wireless-mouse.910-005954.html
Gwolves Skoll Sakura hits 40$ on amazon if you keep an eye on it. I think they only have the small ones left. OG design from 2020 but built like a tank. Very similar to the old MS explorer shape. I have 3 Skolls and swear by them.
My only concern with one of those would be the micro usb connector.
have a skoll-s and it is absolute trash
- their support is useless
Pulsar
finally got my boss to cave and let me get a Mech for work
Please elaborate. I have an original switch Skoll large that has outlasted every other mouse I have purchased Since 2020. The other two smalls have needed the right switch replaced after about 18 months but have continued to work fine. I have burned through mice about 3 per year otherwise. Define "absolute trash".
Had so much pretravel i couldn't do a double click
Support never answered me (i know ot still is bad) so i had to bend the clicks with pliers to make it useable
i think my keyboard is cooked 😭
those keys that are flashing dont work when i try bridging the connection between the hotswap sockets
opinion on sw-92sa lube?
moral of the story: buy a good keyboard
like a realforce
ok but what am i meant to do
cuz rn i cant type the letter p
guessing the pcb is fucked somehow
pcb fucked but i have 90 akko cream yellows and a keycap set
if it is you could fix the traces via wiring otherwise you can take the switches and case and keycaps and ask for a refund for the pcb
im putting stock stabs switches and keycaps so i can hopefully refund the whole board (redragon k630)
probably just gonna get like the epomaker barebones or something
too expensive i think
wow
i unmodded my keyboard and now it looks and sounds like shit 💀
modded was way better
lol
that looks fresh
not enough case material
what?
thin plastic case
even though i ordered them yesterday i want them to come already
need thick metal
aluminum fr
yea true trying to get refund or something idk
alu and brass
the keyboard i got is alu
it might sound better
might need to get lube for the stabs
i have switches and keycaps and stabs but pcb is screwed
Fire keyboard dude
how bad?
My dad has the same keyboard in his office
But it's a membrane keyboard with a slightly tactile feel
Also the travel is mechanical-like
its a nice board
AT102W
probably more expensive than a f75
fr
does it have alps in it or nah
huh
keychron's is prolly closest
I could make one myself tbf
machined abs and custom plate
I think
oh sick
Just got the Razer Huntsman keyboard today and I like it, it’s my first mechanical keyboard so I don’t have prior experience to judge it off of, I like it. Feels a lot more smoother and more responsive than the membrane keyboard I had for so long. Nice
akb vero
totally legal keyboard building technique
can anyone suggest a wireless 96% keyboard with tactile switches for under $50 USD? Ik this is hard, but hope to see results. It just has to feel good, sound doesn't really matter. Also, I'm open to building the keyboard myself if needed to.
just save up a lil more and get something decent
I'm still in middle school, how do you expect me to do that?
what do you think about GBPT Ocean its worth for 25$ i should buy?
Focus on studying and buy something nice when you have money then
do you like it?
no
putted pe foam its good?
and 3 layers of tape
i mean keycaps
the switches sound good im talking bout the stabs
It's Doubleshot PBT
can't go wrong
whether it's glorious of Aliexpress
so i dont need change switches?
nah
so im thinking of getting into custom keyboard, could anyone recomend me a hotswappable cheap 75% board ?i already picked some switch (gateron red) and i gotta find the other parts now
monsgeek m1
thats not really cheap
it cost 100+ euro
150 max if possible ?
no it doesnt?
its like 100 usd on their website
prob even cheaper on aliexpress
isnt cheaper there, but 100 usd is already a lot
those are 50 to 60 euro on aliexpress
get that then
seem like it can be wired, so thats good too me
oh i didnt know that
i thought some were wireless only
any recomendation on what to pair with that board ? i just need keycaps and a chassis now (unless im missing something)
what chassis
never mind that
any keycaps recomendation ? and are gateron red switch decent ?
just choose whatever keycap you like
as for gat red personally would recommend milky yellow instead
I think similar price
i like the feel of red switch, they go thunk
though i dond mind trying something new as long as its not clicky
gat yellow is also linear
ill listen to a sound test when back home, thank you for helping
gat milky yellow based ol’ er option
I might actually get gateron yellow, they sound better than just red
so, decent mechanical keyboard for cheap that is quiet?
whats wrong with something like a logitech g915 or a g513
Question for keyboard people: what would this layout/design of the board be called? I quite like it but I don’t know what’s the terminology for it
I know it’s a TKL/87key but is there a specific name for this sort of big board for the keys?
Thanks. I just really like the model f’s look and wanted to see if any other companies replicated that look but didn’t know what I was looking for. Thanks
Gotcha! It is, but it’s a style I think harkening back to the model m. Thanks for the advise!
I am trying to see if I can find something in that sort of design that I can put custom switches in/hot swappable
it just gives me bought first keeb saw on amazon, and impulse bought glorious keycaps at best buy vibes
should i get the boog75 or preorder keychron q1 he
Any good keyboards with a numpad with a similar design to the Apple keyboard? I plan on eventually getting a new keyboard and mouse for my M2 when I finally decide on getting a monitor for my desktop and well, I plan on using my M2 MB as a desktop again with my current monitor and well, I'mma need peripherals that aren't $400.
Also, I like the feel of the Apple keyboard just not the cost ya know?
Also, I could use my current peripherals but like, using a windows keyboard on MacOS is the most confusing and annoying thing ever.
the extra f keys, clear, and = aren't too common on other boards but you could easily build something custom that supports that
macos should have plenty of different options for mapping software
realforce for mac also exists
@vocal shalehttps://www.realforce.co.jp/products/series_all.html
check out some of these
same layout
buyee.jp has them under $150 or so not counting ship
sure, agreed. I keep trying to find a membrane version of a 96% keyboard, but can't find any so I have to find mechanical one. Wireless is nice to have for it ( I need it for desk space)
I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain all of Keychron's full size keyboards are 108 keys like the apple keyboard.
should i get the boog75 or preorder keychron q1 he
the Keychron has south facing RGB which is widely considered to be superior to north facing RGB
idrc abt rgb
but ig its nice for keycaps
The Keychron also has a knob, they're both 219 USD and they both ship in May so right now to me at least the keychron one is looking like the better option
you think the keychron will sound/feel better?
I'd have to look and see if there's any marketing material that shows how the keychron sound to be sure but I imagine they're both comparable in both sound and feel
i dont think there is any but people have told me the boog soundsand feels really good for a rt keyboard
why buy a keychron when you can buy realforce
fair point
however the question here is between the boog75 and the Keychron Q1 HE
realforce gx1 is better
is it? ive never heard of it until now
that sounds like a matter of opinion
and
I like reds, some people like browns. reds are not better then browns and browns are not better then reds
and
because it's japanese and expensive as shit
what if someone doesn't like mushy domes
ive only had two keyboards and hated both of them
topre domes aren't what i'd consider mushy
exactly, it's what you would consider better and what you consider is better is not what is better for someone else
and
and isn't a good argumant, do better
you act as if they person in question has tried topre and explicitly stated it feels mushy
have you yourself even tried topre
then I'd recommend finding one in store and trying it for themselves to come up with an opinion for themselves rather then blindly trusting the opinion of a random internet stranger
by that logic he shouldn't be listening to what anyone says here
yes, they feel alright if not a bit mushy, I perfer red switches, specificly charry mx2a silent reds
true
could you explain how you came to that conclusion?
first you tell me they're a bit mushy then say you prefer silent reds
which are mushy
come on dude
i'd describe them as smooth
you are considering two different things
yes?
is it possible to find one of those in store lmao
but thats why you find a consensus and dont listen to a single person
having both side by side right now I'd describe the cherry mx2a silent reds as smooth with a sharp bottom out and the Realforce switches as somewhat mushy similar but not quite the same as a membrane. to each their own though, you have every right to like what you like
exactly
i still dont know which to pick but i dont think i want to spend 50 more on something i cant find reviews on anyways
I'm sure buddy
take a pic
I'll apologize
I don't require the validation of an internet nobody

I don't have enough ego to try and logic someone out of a position they didn't logic themselves into
so what did you end up thinking i should go for
I like knobs and RGB so I'd go with the keychron however my preference isn't king so if you're leaning more towards the boog75 then I'd recommend going with that one
im pretty 50/50 rn the only thing that makes me want the boog is there are actually reveiws out for it
but i dont want to wait the month to get reviews of the keychron and then have to also wait for the shipping
I've been looking through boog75 reviews and it does look like it's a pretty solid keyboard. North facing rbg is better for shine through keycaps anyways so it likes like a solid option
this is pretty cool from keychron tho
idk if the others have it or not
i think the boog does
adjustable actuation is the selling point of HE keyboards, the boog for sure has it
nah the multiple actions thing
but pretty sure it has it now im looking more at
rappy snappy is cool on the wooting 80he also hopefully keychron would add something like it
yeah, rapid triggers is a pretty cool feature, I have a razer huntsman with the same thing though it's not as good as the Hall effects implantation
I ended up recently getting an all custom cause the switches where to heavy for my liking on that one though
i was thinking of doing something like this but then i felt like i would regret not having tried rapid trigger
yeah, it's great in quick pace shooters

👍
