Akko ones are cheaper than the ones u showed me
it's just a comparison of hall effect switches. Comparing the glitchyness of some. Range of sensor, extra.
But if it’s not available in ur country go for it
it is for 23€ for 45 pieces 💀
ok
Dam for me it’s $17 for 45
still to much fm
And the one u sent me is $31 for 38
here is 12€ for 38
Dam it’s like the opposite for us lol
got a keyboard parts for my bday from grandparents and they didn't order enough switches lmao
I sent them the stuff but they selected the 70 key set, not the 90 key set
return and buy more
or just buy another set of 70 💀
yes we are doing that it's just funny
extra switches
got the cheapish teecee carrots
def cheaper then the tangerines I was eyeing but big upgrade from my reddragon k55
THOCK
Should I get the rainy 75 which says(I think) it'll deliver on april. Or should I get the Dustsilver 75. https://dustsilver.com/products/dustsilver-blue-pink-milkshake-75-percent-kawaii-wireless-hot-swapping-mechanical-keyboard?variant=43930781024416
DustSilver Kawaii Blue Pink Milkshake is 75 percent size mechanical keyboard from DustSilver with a design color on the body that is dominated by blue and pink. At first glance this is very attention-grabbing with the combination of pink color with some white keycaps. I think milkshake keyboard is very cute for girl and women. DustSilver Blue Pi...
they're both damn near the same price.
This guy gets it
Color differences?
Rainy 75 is using HMX Switches and Dustsilver is using Gateron Red Pro Switch with Double Shot keycaps
the sound difference is the key part(I'm going for which keyboard sounds better not which keyboard has a faster response time or has a lighter touch.)
Wha
that is not a regular kailh/gateron htoswap socket
or a millmax/millmax clone
that is outemus weird hotswap version
that only fits outemu switches
So it wouldn’t work?
unless those switches are also outemu
But the ones on the keyboard are not outemu
Oh dam I didn’t know that
I think the panda switches are actually also outemu
I mean
they might work
they look like outemu housings
but I am not 100% sure
outemu hotswap is weird
don't try to force switches in if they give you a ton of resistance
Hello, i Just build a PC. I have a Royal kludge 61 Keyboard. To enter the bios i need to press "del". But neither spamming fn + backspace nor fn + n Works. After i spam fn+n the BIOS resets and i am in, but this is not what i want. Does anyone know how i enter the bios properly?
Look at the manual and see which key combination presses delete.
Also, it can work with other keys such as: F1, F2 F3, e.t.c
Fn+n/fn+backspace
But it doesnt work
If i hold down fn+backspace it says "Entering Setup..."
Check your motherboard's manual and figure out if you can press any other buttons
If i Press n i get into the bios
But i don't want to keep previous fTPM records since its a new pc
Can't
That's too bad
How come?
Ya I'm not dead
I have up on keyboards
Switches to Rotary cars
Oh ya
I'm gonna sell off everything besides the Cheron, Memeberry, and Glacier
I have the think, the Isabell, the mercutio, the 1 of 1 gentleman, not really anything you want
The 60
Isnt rk shit?
yes
Y bro buying it then?
even 60 is too much imo
what kinda hotswap does rk use? the shit otemu ones? or actual sockets
It's canadian
north facing :> at $100 cad is sad
Are you usd?
100 cad is around 75 usd
Yeah
oven knob
In canada almost everything is more expensive
oh, nvm that’s not even functional volume knobbie
And this is like one of the cheapest wireless keyboards
do u have a working keyboard?
Yeah but I want to switch wireless
idc if its shit , do u have a working keyboard
My current keyboard costed me 80 I think
if so , save some more and buy something that is not shit
Like what?
get a keychron
Keychron design and produces custom and wireless Mechanical Keyboard for Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android.
though the quality of the alu is questionable
V Max series , wireless and pretty cheap
V > Q imo
K series is garbage
skip
^^
@keen wave
check if the shipping is decent from keychron
They don't have white?
They have all the models on amazon
Or I think
not the V Max versions
the royal kludge one looks awful
Yeah ig
even for rk standards
smart
u said u were canadian?
Yeah
perhaps consider joining the canadian keyboard server
dm
they would be able to help u better than i can , since they would have more knowledge about whats available
^
Someones already helping me
W idea, skip a few years of keyboard copium 👍
What
what
do it
Yeah so apparently there's absolutely nothing with my price range
there are but, you’d have to buy from aboard prolly
Abroad?
different country n’ have to deal with customs and such
or just buy a keychron
at your budget
If they had white I would actually go for them
Someone say Topre👀
I heard realforce
Get a realforce
Realforce or HHKB, you won't be disappointed
Promise
whats the best 9$ keyboard on the market
ok
Ain no way bro got the skull emoji pfp
ain no way
is it good to have more vram than ram on ur pc
Nah
pro3 was super disappointing
Never had a pro 3, don't care for it
nope
My palms never hurt whilst gaming
Probably because I don't do lobg sessions
can i use hyperx keycaps on a keychron v3?
Hell yeah
hell yeah
Anyone know cheap and silent outemu switches
20 € limit in Croatia
Those cherry mx?
Also they not avaliable here...
Croatia
It says those are cherry mx
I need outemu
Wym what for?
Are cherry mx compatible w my keyboard?
Redragon k552 kumara
March 15 estimated delivery?!
..
Meh, ur right
HU
Wym😭
Are they compatible even
Dang it
akko cs are compatible
but some otemu hot swap sockets still have problem with it
(for some reason)
Too expensive here
aliexpress
is that sonic cleaner ?
Does anyone know any good budget switches on aliexpress? Right now, I'm planning to go with ktt rose linear switches. If anyone knows a better switch for a better price, please let me know!
ultra sonic 🔥 🔥 🔥
whats your preference on the sound
I like thock the most
akko, ktt kang white, gateron yellow/milky yellow
maybe leobog greywood but thats more creamy
are they priced similarly?
I dont use aliexpress so I am not sure but on taobao (the platform I buy from) they are
Realforce
Do not be misled by faux mx thock, consume only real and original topre thock 🙏🙏🙏
here goes the topre guys again
Says the reddit mod with a profile themed around an anime character 😭
Finally got und build my cycle7
you forgot to mention that the anime is dead & overrated
Ok
wild
topre sounds 🤤
tf is wrong iwth topre
i love topre
topre is love topre is life
What's y'all's opinions on the Razer yellow switches?
Just wonderin
But how bad are the Razers?
The other one
The mech
There it is
Those
But like on their boards
Are they that bad 💀
What's the issue with them exactly?
I think they're fine NGL
Was wondering what y'all thought of them
I have the Blackwidow v4 pro
Got it for $150 cause I'm not that crazy
Really wanted them macro keys so yeah
I just like having all the features and stuff. 8 macro keys, a knob, scroll wheel, and wrist wrest
Much better than that Walmart
keyboard I had
Got the yellows cause they are quiet cause I don't use headphones
A thoccy board would be too distracting
Ok thocctober
Thoccboards are the best NGL
you think yellows are quiet?

Not silent but not annoying
Thoccy would be annoying
Clacky mf
Yeah, I love the sound of my mounting plate
Did you try to enable global dark mode again?
Win32 apps will always find a way to not be dark mode
sounds pretty peak
The foam that they ship your foam is worth it
Aka just look for some PE in old Amazon boxes you dork
What do you think about razer huntsman TE? (red)
razer = bad
^
overpriced
Unless your still rocking a blackwidow from like 2012 or something.. literally anything razer will get you laughed out of the keeb community
Their old boards better or something?
Also how are Logitech boards?
Overpriced
Any idea on how badly overpriced the blackwidow v4 pro is?
Not necessarily
Its mostly a nostalgia kinda thing
Or like getting a good 11 years of use from a keeb as you should is just a better look
However they were some of the first fully mechanical "Gaming" marketed keyboards
like for "Hard core gamers xD"
Any idea on this? Like how much to get something similar
Something with a ton of macros like it
anything that works with via
or vial
?
I mean like macro keys not a separate board
And how overpriced do you think the board is?
what
Considering the $230 price tag
Yeah that's what I was thinking when I saw the price
For a ton of macros there actually isnt many options besides the likes of razer, corsair steelseries etc
Its one of the rare circumstances I would recommend one of those brands
That said, maybe look into glorious?
could buy an old board, soldering stuff, and an mcu for a full via compatibility conversion for cheaper

if you're doing that to an old board at least use vial lol
isn't vial a fork
not like you're a vendor
is that bad
nah
just wondering
forks are like steamos which is based off of arch if I remember right
it's vaguely via compatible afaik, but i don't think it's based on it
not the original program but altered some
also i think via has a bit of funkyness with registration/ centralization
haven't had any issues on my daily board
its mostly internal workings that are funky
it refers to a central database to remember compatible boards
vial stores board definitions on chip
more a personal nitpick though
i think it has more features but looks a lil ass
idr if via has updated recently though
There's not necessarily anything wrong with keyboards from razer, steelseries, corsair, etc. They are just super overpriced for what you are getting
Do you think the Blackwidow v4 pro is fine at $150?
Thats what I spent for mine, yellow switches
Maybe? It seems better than most big name offerings. Actually has foam and gaskets
Better than msrp
like =/= belief that a bad product is good
no
there problem solved
The same reason why he has his pc as his username
That’s the fun part you get to use multiple layers
And the variety of tempest / pe layers, you can do change sound profile dramatically
More than most mods
im using a steelseries apex 3 keyboard and for some reason today my printscreen button doesnt work. I have that keybind activated to toggle mute on discord but it doesnt activate unless i press Win + Shift + PrntScrn
anyone can offer any help? there is no function key on the keyboard
So many, what size do you want?
60%
Keychron v4 for wired, they have wireless options as well. Ep64 seems decent. You can get way under budget for that layout
Rk61
Wooting maybe
Wooting may be over budget
Durgod k330
luminkey 65, keychron q2 (max) if pre built
and neo65
hhkb
topre
Over budget i think
Where?
Definitely not
Everywhere is like 200 and up
I also dont see any 60% like they asked for
they’re shills ignore them.
won’t change their mind in realforce
Im beginning to notice.
I said Hhkb didn’t I
same thing basicly…
Guess it’s a crime to suggest anything other than the current cheapshit keyboard nowadays 😭
does anyone know if its possible if i can replace the standard HHKB housing with a Tofu60
Implying any other product is shit will not make you any friends here.
cause bro i can't deal with this squeaky housing man
Most other products are shit though. Also I’m not here to make friends, I’m sure anyone who has been here long enough would know that.
cheap!=shit
Don’t put words in my mouth 🤦
Not sure how they are?
Sucks to be too stupid to see it then 😭
definitely not
hhkbs and rf boards are easy to get under 140eur
^
dinky moment
Here is a ridde for you all
If I ask for a tommy hilfiger keyboard, what am I?
braindead?

I just like tech, especially modifiable or repairable tech
le capybara
Should I get an rk87 or h81
Ik these 2 options are shit but kinda on a budget
Either is probably fine. Which size do you like more?
?
I like tkl alot
I was considering this since it's green
Also I know this isn't tkl but every tkl wireless Costs alot
I have a 75% and i like it. Does it have enough keys for you?
Linus reviewed it. It was shit
Umm. What the fuck‽
https://www.amazon.com/RealForce-keypad-Less-LED-Backlit-REALFORCE-R2TLA-US4G-BK/dp/B07MC7LLTR
Thoughts on the Cyberboard?
Overpriced?
It's like 1400 or something
💀
Price determines how good it must be
And if it's not then it's shit
But how is that a bad board?
But I spent all my money on 64 gigs so I can't
its way to expensive
nails
if it’s few switches you can just use nails
im trying, one side working and one not
FEW?!
hold the switch so it won’t clip back together
i saw that you can make blue switches quieter by taking them apart and taking sumn out of it, so im testing does it work
while prying with your nails on the other side
ill try surely
Dont buy a realforce
ye dont buy a realforce , buy a HHKB
Same thing🙄
god no
leds where you can't see them, mid switches iirc, hotswap, and dumb ass keycaps
Yeah can't see them LEDs
it's horrible for the price
Also I feel fucking ancient
Apparently its inspired by the cybertruck
I swear that thing came out in like 2022
It's probably 2019 but damn
I do wonder how a super expensive board would feel compared to one like mine
What's the most important part for these boards? Sound?
most definitely gets beat by vintage boards
Whats wrong with linears?
like what, the god damn click leaf?
they're bad
How?
No idea tbh
For typing?
Yeah. Gotta get used to them
they feel awful
Also gotta keep learning how to type correctly
linear touch typing 👎
tactile touch typing 👍
@patent belfry what if I told you clears > blacks
ergo clears = worse clears
clears are my fav mx switch now
not the most tactile but goddamn do they feel nice
btw I'm looking for an alps amber board
where where where where where where

salmon
mans zonked
ion think thats topruh
don't you have a r1 rf
lots
do you have a black JIS pro2
via moddable?
how much do you want for it

every fing
god damn
that's like
a cherry battleship
or half a cyberboard
or a heavy grail
peak
100% pcb I assume?
tkl?
how much for plate and pcb

mayhaps
can find cheap topre on buyee
are they via compatible too
^
Is it ez to mod a razer huntsman purple switch?
doubt it's worth lol
👍
how much are they usually
cheaper off buyee or nah
anything special I need to do or do I just search
👍
hhkb pro2 type s with carrying case for 157usd
Ik you told me it's shit but I ended up buying the m75
why even bother asking then
Like chemically? Or in use? They just dampen sound differently
Poron seems to be the most popular right now
how quiet is quiet
just use foam
cheez wiz
rockwool
it doesn't

I guess I didn’t see any replies so ima ask again
Does the purple switches on Razer huntsman mini easy to mod and how does it sound ?
Ok so I'm starting a carbon fiber keyboard with an aluminum body
Do I need to oil the keys before I put them on
Can someone help me out here
I got my first new keyboard in 8+ years. It's having massive double input issues. The manufacturer are refusing to do anything, but the seller are willing to refund me. That said, I have no idea what to even consider.
Everything I'm looking at for replacements either has a massive deal breaking flaw, is too expensive (over $200) or is out of stock
Im looking for something 75% (or very similar), all black, shine through keycaps, wired, with a tactile switch option. If you know of anything like that, please let me know
(getting rid of a Blackwidow V4 75%)
i know keychron makes some keyboards similar to that
not a lot of good keyboards has shrine through
since if you need shine through you have to install the switch upside down and interfere with some keycaps
Hey guys, do you know what the difference between the keychron q1 pro and the q1 max is?
I think max has 2.4ghz and pro doesnt
Ah, thank you
Sound and more
the switches are overcomplicated and I dont expect a razer keyboard to be good for modding
and purple switches are clicky so they are gonna sound shit anyways
Don't like clicky switches or something?
I mean I run quiet ones but that sounds very opinionated
Apparently Cherry switches aren't good anymore
how suprising
kailh clickies are alright
I'm not talking about clickbar
mfs be like: Oh i want a quiet keyboard, when they really want this
nah
the hhkb layout isn't new
its not new
but comparing to the others
it relatively new to what i know
damn thing was created in the 90s
when was the tkl created
shit ain't new even compared to ansi
im talking bout layouts
the creator of 67 percent:
possibly 1987 with the introduction of the SSK
which is like
only 9 years earlier than the hhkb layout
only gum
TKL is the perfect keyboard layout
hhkb says otherwise
hhkb says wrong things then
After a week of using membrane keyboard , im so glad im finally getting to touch a red switch kb
so real
i had tkl
and best experience
i dont like this 75% as much
but it works
That full size keyboard guy
?
which pcb is that i want it
indecisive iirc
mine
its so funny
it also gets jlcpcb mad at you for making so many fuckin holes lol
i mean not mad, but i assume theres a cost tacked on for all them holes lol
It’s not for you dinky
There aren’t any hotswap sockets on it

went a bit overr budget, but i found a solution to my issue
Anyone got keycap set recomendations if you're not on a budget and are looking for a stylish colorful doubleshot PBT set that will make a black/gray zoom75 pop out?
Purple, orange, green, or yellow preferably. I need some inspiration. @ me if you have any ideas.
I can recommend sets from akko, but idk if they are available for you
gmk
I know the brands mentioned, but I was more thinking about specifics
I have considered these so far:
- PBTFans Purpurite
- PBTFans Resonance
- WS Sunset Bliss
- GMK Olivia++
Can't go wrong with Olivia
does anyone have reference pictures for an e white vs white gmmk?
same thing
e white is slightly brighter
would you consider the g pro wireles x 2 e white or white?
someone recommended me this one and it's very tempting, i love the way it looks
Also I found out all of the previous suggestions weren't doubleshot PBT (except the WS one) and it has to be doubleshot
why tho
I understand that some people dont like abs but personally I dont feel any major difference between doubleshot and dye sub
abs is less abrasive resistance compare to most blends of pbt, and a lot of people have a problem with their keycaps being shiny
i dont think most people have a problem with how pbt and abs feels on their hand tbh
why just doubleshot?
dye sub and double shot are both alr great
yeah but dye sub and doubleshot has almost no difference
it all comes down to the perceived longevity tbh
main difference is that dye sub is slightly less clear on the edges tbh
there is but it's not really enough to justify only going doubleshot
to me pbt and abs feel pretty similar
until the abs gets shine
personally i hate PBT , sounds like shit compared to ABS
yea, like thats the main talking point about abs vs pbt, the longevity of that texture on top of your caps
I can't really tell a difference rn
it depends on the textures too, like the akko pbt set i have brand new feels rather smooth and not that textured
because its dependent on the mold
I also kinda liked my old akko set
I have a tai hao set now and it's minimally different
mainly just sharper edges
yea, i think akko molds dont do a rough ish surface treatment
compare to the dye sub i had previously, def way smoother, but again, its the difference in molds
is the Huntsman V2 TKL good
hi im looking for a good keyboard under 100$ any ideas
nah
Do you know what size you want?
is that usually under 100?
huh, must not be filtering right
or looking on ebay is not the right move?
ah ebay was the wrong move
how much is shipping off of there usually
idk how much things weigh lol
is 1000g a reasonable estimate
neat
rowstag tho, ah well
i wonder if theres a 4x10 topre
wtf
lol
ah "most high end"
ill stick to my cheap mech protos ig
until someone comes out with something interesting with ec
or if topre proto costs drop
in stock?
must not have selected the right options
it was avail 3 years ago, i think its past the window
i should shove some topre into an altoids tin
would prob be a cheaper way to proto
Hi! Does anyone have suggestions for a mechanical 100% keyboard?
realforce?
sorry, I don't know what that is 😅
it was a silly suggestion, i dont think its even mechanical, strictly speaking
I'm not very good with all the aspects of keyboards, I just thought this would be the best place to get good recommendations 🙂
realforce
rule 2 and 4
<@&750150305383186585> this guy harrases me despite me telling him to stop
i cant tell if yall are serious about getting topre stuff half the time
good topre boards are fine
mainly because its so weird seeing so many people agree in something like this
everyone knows the pro3 sucks
can you leave me alone tbh?
i already told you i quit the pointless game
stop. yourself
thocky realforce
you pinged me utterly for no reason other than to sparkle up some argument again or smth
not funny
you’re fucking 27 behave better
Eh, not really. Its just a realforce channel now
irrelevant. don’t behave like 14y old
a 60% would be great
Could look at keychron v4.
ill check them out
Any recommended low profile keyboard?
logitech stuff
unless someone really knows anything better, they do kind'a make some of the best shit
they have cheaper options
🙂
Lofree makes a decent low profile keyboard
Not a big fan but nuphy as well
Nuphy air series
Honestly logitechs low profile is pretty well liked too, just expensive
they do heave regional stores or local distributors. This is logitech we are talking about, they have presense almost everywhere
online is not the only option 😉
I do buy a lot of logitech stuff myself in my region and I never ordered from logitech directly - it's more expensive than looking at the local stores and getting it there a lot of the time.
especially when promotions are in season
anything decent with chiclet/membrane switches
very hit or miss but the best feeling low profile you'll get, low profile mx feels like shit
Good $80 keyboard
Blackwidow 1?
I have the v4 pro
Decent board at $150
At $230 its a very stupid buy though
And my GPU is turning to an international airport right now
It don’t say on the box
Take a photo
highly doubtful
you have rgb?
yeah because they're cheap and shit
wasting money on a shit razer board
buying a good keyboard
Find me a "good" board with at least 8 macro keys and a knob, also a scroll wheel if possible
Also want a wrist wrest and RGB, that sound doable for $150?
And no using random keys as macros doesn't count
sounds like a whole lotta niche stuff
Sounds like my stuff
K100 air
My PC is niche cause who needs all that storage, RAM, and performance
My mouse is niche because when's the last time you've heard of a mouse with 11/15/21 buttons
Just buy a realforce
Those ugly ass office boards that are like $300?
R3 is ugly yeah
Let me search that and see cause I might be wrong
The rest look good tho
so basically you don't play games but want rgb
Do play games
The r3 is actually kinda nice
shit mouse for games
too much clutter, probably pretty heavy, and sub 2khz sensor
1k is fine
suboptimal
Don't get how mouse weight matters
Clutter?
Nah
The 6 button plate is always fun
The 12 is for MMOs which I don't play
Your favorite mouse the Razer 8k or something?
1k is fine though
Yeah
There is no difference basically
At least for my board
Depends on your dpi
I play fine at 1550 dpi and 1k polling
3200 is optimal IIRC
my daily
3200dpi 2khz atm
Anything that helps you feel better about yourself 👍🙏🫡
Hmm interesting
It's like DPI doesn't mean shit
Except a higher DPI sensor is more accurate but that's all
Also 1k
GTX 1070
because csgo players have been parroting 400dpi for years
i like my 1k mouse
me too
trading battery life for a negligible increase in polling rate is pretty stupid to me when its clearly a skill issue
second revision in the works, praying i didn't fuck up the schematics this time lol
also, how funny would it be to have a mouse that had a trackball as a scroll wheel
1khz on a dav3 pro
God I fucking hate Razer
Any 75% keyboard that has a similarity to Wooting 60he.
I'll look them up thanks
Depends on the sensor
On the current totl ones you can go to like 14000 without any issues
I'd be surprised if that isn't even higher on the new one that should arrive late march
Apex Pro TKL 2023 edition good?
Its expensive
What do you like about it?
Im sure there are similar options for cheaper
Drunkdeer
they're generally well regarded iirc but you're better off getting a wooting
I like the huntsman v3 better
Or the polar 65
Drunk deer kb is good too
My last keyboard was shit compared to this
Which kb
realforce better

“opinion” 🥱🥱🥱
clearly the razer copy is better than the wooting
bloody lightstrike switches are so ass though
It was a Cougar Gaming keyboard
I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard recommendation. I have this keyboard https://en.akkogear.com/product/blue-on-white-3084b-plus-mechanical-keyboard/ and I'm accustomed to this layout, so I'd like something with the same layout, or very close to it. My requirements are: TKL, 75%+, hot-swappable, vertical Page Up/Page Down/Home/End keys (whatever those are called), DEL in top right, CTRL on both sides. I'm willing to remap keys in software if necessary, but prefer not to. I've found a few that fit all of these requirements, but I am not really tuned into what are the reputable brands, or red flags to look for. So hoping that someone with more knowledge can recommend something. fwiw, my current keyboard is okay but has major chatter issues, and I'm sick of taking off the keycaps and switches every other day to blow out the dust.
Does someone have the g512 with the same problem?? It should be all purple.
g512 is a pos
bought the Apex Pro
im trying to buy a 100% redswitch keyboard, is the Redragon K668 good? theres not many reviews
Realforce
halp
I’m sorry
It’s the one of the less stinky crap in the crap pile
what eles ones could i get
y
keychron
like one of these?
whats the difference between gateron and cherrymxs
slight difference in sound and feel
get v or q series
which one is more quieter
why v series for
depends on the board
but what if im open to modding and dont care that much for initial feels
and how come red dragon is not that great
whats stabs
cant i put stuff inside of it
stabilizers
depends on board, it would be a lot of effort to do so
should i consider getting a hotswappable one keyboard
you should just get a realforce
nah
yes
this good?
alright or good
so this is like the best for it's budget and i should buy
Sure. Keychron is generally fine. V series is very popular
does anyone in here have experience converting a laptop keyboard into a desktop keyboard?
it depends on the keyboard
usually it's not worth the effort unless it's well liked
I ADORE this keyboard, it's for a custom desk aimed towards optimizing ergonomics. I will go to the ends of the Earth for this build
Any of y'all aware of a hot swappable, backlit, dedicated numpad that isn't like $50+?
Or are those parameters too much to ask for less than that
Sorry I'm late but I have a G512 Carbon without any issue
Bought the Kalih Box Jades
Should’ve bought a realforce
am i just slow or do the ltt people just type fast? I noticed they usually hit like 120+ wpm... is that normal for most? lol I can barely hit 100?
I hit 70
does anyone have a good brick and mortar shop for keyboard parts?
i live ~40 mins from chicago
guys...
Prohibited fast charging? Does it just mean it no worky if I shove a cable in to charge it while I tryna use it? Just noticed it on Epomaker Aula F87. Good price here for what it is.
Microcenter. brick and mortor MX keyboard shops exist in cali/NY and that's about it as far as i know in the US
damn
and there is like 2 in cali and one in NY
yk and silent switches at mc?
they have a whole isle dedicated to keyboards but only like one to two sections for mx modding stuff typically but they normally carry Glorious switches and some red dragon stuff at my local store, neither of which are the best but both are okay
can i test out switches?
few better places in the world tbh, tons of boards out with all kinds of switchs and mine has a switch tester from glorious as part of a display rn
this is good to get right
yes, but it’s bit pricey for what it is
what else might u suggeust
at that price you can (almost) get keychron Q
q what
yess which version in the q line
Q5
V is plastic and Q is aluminium
they’re both alr
though Q series are kinda overpriced when they’re not in a decent discount
hmm
i dont think they are close in price much
well, you should buy from keychron’s website for normal prices
nah bro what the flip
this aint very normal
anyways V series is totally fine. you could also check other brands off amazon like akko or the brands i cannot remember name of, aliexpress has dozens of keyboard options, though the quality is questionable, that’s why reviews exist
Keychron Q5 is a fully customized compact full-size or 1800 layout mechanical keyboard packed with all premium features and endless possibilities. out of stack sad
Is that CAD? Should come out to about msrp in usd
yes it is, what is msrp
Thats like 95 usd. Maybe like 5 dollars over normal non sale price
Not terribly priced in my opinion but you can maybe get cheaper depending on shipping
the K pro red Switches are quieter compared to the blue or brwon ones right
Yes. K pro reds are insanely light btw. I had to go back to brown due to constant mistypes. They felt like hair trigger. YMMV of course.
Not sure if it's just the nature of linear but I couldn't get used to them.
heard all about the gaming performance of the wooting two, but what about typing, like im not an enthusiast or anything, i just want something better than my razer keyboard, is it a worth while upgrade or is there something better, not talking about customs, as im not nearly smart enough for that
Just fyi, from what i understand epomaker is pretty bad, r/mk has a note about them i think
What makes a keyboard good? Like what differentiates a Razer something and a Real force?
it feels better, its built better, it looks better, it doesn't lose value like a mf, it has better keycaps most of the time and it is the original "thocky" keyboard if you wanna waste your time on that
No way you're gonna do Razer chroma like that
I'm not a child who needs bright rainbow lights to feel good about my gear 💀
but rainbow puke give u more fps
and you see my monitor is the ultimate rgb lightstrip
I wouldn't mind a thoccy board until it gets distracting
rgb is for children
daily clickies
You do realise RGB gives you 10% more FPS rigt?
apex pro tkl 23 coming in today 👨🛩️🤑🇺🇸🦅
shi look good tho
Tell that to thocctober
The best sound
But it would be distracting so I got quiet switches
Fuck all the thock, muh clicky blasted every other sounds
does anybody have a link to a switches table that compares every switch from all major brands?
logitech/razer/corsair?
There's no physical shop around for me to try and i need to order a new one online cause my y key is broken.
also i never had cherry mx mainly cause i could never try them irl and so i always went with razer (green in the past, purple now).
I was trying to see comparisons with cherry mx to order the right one for my taste and i noticed browns are not clicky but tactile:
- i thought brown was the most popular that people always talk about????
- do people really like tactile? those ones i was able to try in stores and they feel like crap to me
From what I can gather without said table it seems to me like brand equivalents would be:
Razer green/purple -> Cherry MX blue -> Logitech GX Blue
Would that be a fair assessment?
Do you guys think I REALLY should give something else a try even if I used clickies all my life?
(Software engineer I type all day every day)
browns are basically the same as reds just worse
theres like a really slight difference from what i could feel
just buy a realforce
i'm in a country where these cool products don't exist and didn't even ship to till a couple years ago
import one
i can actually justify that investment but we have a weird layout cause we need èü and such and there's no getting use to US layout at 36 🙂
do they sell foreign layouts ?
you could just get different keycaps
and can i ask why you'd suggest a realforce? (a video review link is fine)
because its better than 90% of thats out there
anybody ever heard of Keychron K-series?
I found out they ship here and can ship just the deck with any switch set i want and custom layout keycaps
which keyboard are you looking exactly at?
this reseller has a lot of them (all K series)
I just found out a shortcircuit with plouf approving it and if he likes it i trust him
well from what i can see some of the k-series keyboards have low profile switches in them i would avoid them unless thats what you want to go for
akko, epomaker, keychron usually is a good choice
huh? there's nothing mentioned about low profile and from video/pictures it doesn't look like it?
Is there something i'm not aware of in the internal of the switches? I thought low profile were the "laptop style" shorter keycaps?
(i might just be a noob, i never researched this much cause in stores we can find razer and i always loved green/purple)
(i wanna get away from razer if possible)
i just went through the keychron website theres low profile versions of some keyboards
i saw on their website they have k-max series which seems to be low profile.. i'd be getting a k or k-pro (pro is for programmable rom and since its not much expensive i guess ill get it)
well what i can also recommend is getting everything seperate from aliexpress
but idk anything about full sized keyboards if thats what you're going for
this reseller has barebone for all formats but 100%.. i'd be throwing a bunch of stuff in landfills to replace the switches
the search continues
yes it is.. i use numpad more than most other keys 😛
what country are you from if you mind telling
Switzerland
i dunno I'm 36 and started using windows 95 in, well 95.. so i'm not sure i can get used to TKL keyboards... anyone with a similar experience that can reassure me they got used to it?
most pro things seem to be TKL these days
many people just dont use the numpad
pretty close to me
well worst case scenario you have to buy a seperate numpad
I found a pretty good priced one with everything i want except the switches (but they are swappable)...
This one is using "Gateron G Pro Switches" whatever those are:
- if i get a cherry MX set, will i be be able to swap those? or do they have different pins?
- What about the keycaps?
Could you provide the link for that?
"Switch stem
MX"
i guess they are
looks good from what i have seen
you can pretty change the switches to anything you want
even though quite unclear the switches are blue from the link you sent
not in stock obviously.... maybe i SHOULD give TKL a try
actually i'll write a keylogger to keep track of how often i use it in an average day and decide tomorrow
do that
are.. translucent keycaps not a thing in the custom keyboard world?
I have ADHD i hate "the big light"
all keycaps sets seem to be opaque?
if you hate light, why would you want translucent ones?
i hate "the big light".. which means i'm always working in the dark so shine through rbg is pretty much needed
i think youre looking for pudding keycaps
im sure theres keycaps where the letter only has the light
