I will say skcc is kinda overrated
yeah I'll just leave...
I had an smk one a long time ago
i’m just confused
Sorry, I was more asking about where I can find stylish looking frame/case things to go along with the keycaps
mx boring though
at least vintage blacks are good
are vintage browns good
or nah
compared to sckm oranges
ik but they have vintage in their name so they're different and better
like replacement frame part of a keyboard case if i understand correctly? you could also disassemble the keyboard and spraypaint the part if you mean that
alot of vintage mx memes are just anecdotes from however many years ago though
I still don't know if vint blues are actually good or just a meme
bring alps back goddamn
💀
yeah! like if I were to go and build a new keyboard, it's hard to find a full sized case. I was recommended the m5, but shipping is +50% the price
its not like alps leafspring is flawless either
alps or topre are simply better
in my limited experience my less than NOS sckm oranges are doing swell
can't vouch for later alps "basic" models
that shit will upstroke click like a bitch if you don't match the leafspring to the slider
and not consistently either
what's the thoccness scale on these?
I've got an alps lock in my alps bucket
very thock
its so thock that there is no upstroke sound
just the downstroke thock
rapid trigger
it's the only thing keeping me from wax boiling my blues rn
shit sounds so tedious i just get turned off at the thought
what about keychron v5 barebone
but, that one is not aluminum
mmm
send them to me for free so I can do nothing with them
you can have the box of random vint parts that I got from some dude who quit
pics?
only +25% shipping!
should include tax, does the m5 include tax?
wait, does keychron include tax, duties

could mill a case
and red cerakote
would be hard
bet
Some thick and thin wyse in there too idk
dibs on happy plate and pcb
unlucky nt
don't do international shipping?
kinda odd
I'm lazy and really busy rn
damn
I think they're just shipping it and hoping it won't get taxed

I could ask someone to proxy but I'd have to ask around
and the 20% is how often customs checks
I know someone located in sk
real
where in asia do you live?
singapore
oh nice!

jonna, how bad do you actually want it? and what state do you live in?
need to get out asap
I left at 14 and escaped NS
I was only PR so a little easier to leave
but can't move back to live anymore
couldn't even get a student work visa back in uni
most I'd do is pay shipping for bulk (working) pcbs
wonder if it even works
easy milling practice

the CNC machines I'm gonna use will be free for me

pcb is busted
2x vertical mills
guess thats why he gave it away
easy shared profit with the owner
I gotta figure out if I can laser cut plates
could make bank selling custom plates
I paid $96 for 2 POM alps plates
both hhkb layout
custom
what the fuck
karolus pricing
yea
emailed him, sent a KLE file, plates done in 2 weeks and shipped a few days later
anyone got damped sckm creams?
AEK doesn't have ivory
yeah but it's not as easy to tell if it's damped or not
thats AEK2
Between these 4 materials, which plate ends up overall quieter.
I would think the polycarb right?
What are your guys’ opinions on the super speed coppers
I might get them
On box reds rn
Looking at getting a Q6 in brown switches. Thoughts?
is this keyboard good for 55€? https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-c1-wired-mechanical-keyboard?variant=32321246888025
Keychron C1 Mechanical Keyboard. Tenkeyless Layout. Connects via wired type-c cable and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. 15+ RGB Backlight
yo guys whatsup
i want to buy new mechanical keyboard, i am using my old now for 5 years now and i want to replace it.
i want to buy something for not more than 100$
i want silent switches
i want it to be 65% or 75% (i need to have arrows)
i want it to have wrist rest if possible
its need to be easili available in the Europe
thank you for recommendations
Any 80% cases that are good when it comes to thock?
realforce
from bottom of pcb to top of cap, prob more than 2.5cm right
i just wanna thoccy altoids tin:)
maybe if i stack two..
for scale?
idk like 0.4 pounds
my m3 hot swap base is in the uk now
i might get that before the key caps
ye, aluminum hot swap base
got my keycaps
there now
these
So I'm looking to get the yunzii al71 and i was wondering how long is the battery life in its wireless mode
hello guys, i've been thinking about upgrading either my headphones or my keyboard. My current keyboard isn't the greatest (asus cerberus membrane keyboard, first pic) but and so aren't my headphones (moondrop chu 2, they are great for the price but I was looking for more). I would either upgrade my keyboard to the nuphy air 75v2 (great keyboard for the price) or to the TRUTHEAR x Crinacle Zero:RED (or maybe something a bit more expensive but not a lot because I would like to buy some ear tips).
Do you think realforce will work with Wootings upcoming 80HE (speculation)
I heart that not all TKL pcb's fit in every TKL case
so that's the problem I am currently facing (ergo deciding between wooting 60HE with tofu60 or wait for Wooting 80HE and pray that realforces case will fit)
no
Anyone know if this is worth owning?
I’m currently using apples usb keyboard and it’s utter shit and my speed is like half what it should be, I don’t want anything fancy, but I want something which is actually useable
do you need a numpad?
Yes
is there a relatively easy to obtain, standard-ish full size case i could design for?
or would i probably need to make the case too
yo this is a thing of opinion, but anyone know any good illumination settings for apex 5? i just have something just like this rn
👀 ?
i just realized id prob want a pcb exposed area to show off the electronics :/
half plate?
i think id need like a row of space at least tho
tho southpaw is tempting
i also realize that most fancy cases are prob not as compatible with mcu daughterboards
whats moq for cases usually
ah
it won't work?
guys
whats the cheapest and kinda good keyboard you can build
but not like everything like stabilisers and lube
yk
hi75
not avaliable in my country, maybe sumn cheaper xd
that keyboard looks neat tho
gmk67 is bit cheaper, but you have to also buy it from taobao
won’t get decent for less than $30
exl. possible taxes
dang it
50$ enough?
also litearly no shipping to my country probably
ion really wanna login
can i maybe get a keyboard and upgrade it later?
i wanted to get the redragon k551 vara
ak820 pro?
theres almost none of those cheap budget brands
only redragon and white shark i suppose..
well, full size keyboards cost more to manufacture due to the materials
is k551 vara from rd good?
Aprox. How long would a keyboard with a 4600mah battery last in wireless mode?
week-two with rgb off
maybe my rgb is just wasting power lol
got my attack shark k86 recently, somehow the backspace key sometimes double hits and i'm not sure why, any ideas or suggestions?
bad switch, too low debounce time prolly
what's the cheapest silentest keyboard i can buy for typing only?
I mean really really silent
a touchscreen
otherwise I couldnt tell you
my silent kb took
$260 to put together
For context this Apple kb is what used to my “silent kb”
I'd say the most imapctful things are, handlubing heavier silent linear switches. low profile / cherry profile keycaps/ tempest mod 3-5 layer
well duh
And I am having this opinion because I want feedback
But I have to get one because I don‘t want to wake my gf up while I am late night coding… hence typing keyboard
Yes and no
Moddable tho
Razer black widow v2
Tournament editor
Edition
Ergo TKL
uh
tmi
can you rip a switch off of it
not literally incase ur wondering
yea no you cant
gg
You’re far better off buying a cheap mech and then some silent switches
Cheap mech just needs to be hotswap
Yeah i think so too
But first I want to build a proper 60% custom to my liking
I ordered switch samples
To see whether I also like linear or tactical
Because even to me clicky tactile can be overwhelming sometimes
Ye thanks
BTW
When you type
In your kb. Does it feel like typing on rubber?
It feels like the more resistance there than just the plate my key smacks against, but it’s not “mushy” if you properly (and I mean properly) handlube at least your alpha keys
Does it feel hard?
Because that’s exactly what would irritate me the most
Mushy feeling
Gateron silent black ink v2 are my favorite so far. And no.
The reason you go heavier bottom out linear is it’s so much easier to type lighter to begin with
That is a switch
As far as I understood, even as simple as keycaps can make a difference between typing and gaming
Your keyboard makes no difference in gaming
The kid schooling you is using a dell chiclet keyboard
If it‘s not too much to ask. Would you be so kind to list me the parts used for your kb? Because i think it‘s exactly what I am looking for
You won’t like how much it costs….
Doesn‘t matter to me
I have a motto: do it right
And if it requires me to save a pretty penny, then so shall be it 😅

Just got the Cidoo V75 delivered, it's spectacular for $120-140
Crazy good stock. Something like this would've been a $300+ build a couple years ago
Does anyone know why my keyboard suddenly can't press W + Space or W + Shift at the same time? It worked just fine before
80he is not even a tkl? https://i.imgur.com/wA9lgPR.png
68 with f row yes
i dont think they realise the 60he was as popular as it was partly because of how you could dump it into any gh60 compatible case
this probably helped a lot ye
when i heard they were doing a 80 , i kinda assumed they would take the same approach...
KREO HIVE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Is this a good one?
tbh most people just put it in a tofu
so the zinc option they will have for the 80he will be an upgrade over that already
Needs a little work on the stabs but otherwise 🔥 for factory stock
These key caps are hella thick
its the idea that appeals to people imo
and even if the case is better than your average tofu people still seem to hate it because of the layout
Tai-Hao's apc switches are just alp clones right ?
Does anyone know cases that would potentially work with wooting 80HE?
tkl case and a saw
pretty much none
unless someone were to make one
^
new to KB building
Building a 10KL, want switches that aren't super loud, but still click, and have a noticeable activation threshold so i can reload without activating
but will it thock
May go with this badboy set https://www.kailh.net/products/kailh-box-heavy-switch-set?variant=43775743656178

awooga
and if you're wondering why I didn't get x%
why pay 100% price for <100% of a keyboard
just dont pay 100% ez
How likely is this?
Wait but
Foam etc needs also to be specifically made to the size of Wootings format no?
Not just cases
As well as the frame
Can anyone give advice on what kind of cheap keycap lubricant to use? This A4Tech Compact keyboard's keys feel too stiff for my liking, especially the Backspace, left Shift and Enter key
you're joking right?
Dunno if this makes sense for this channel but
I type around 70-80 wpm with more than 95% accuracy, but i dont use the standard homerow typing method
Should i learn that or no
I use every finger except pinky
No I am not 🙃
This damn thing that I'm using to type with was hecka cheap for a reason
Hi does anybody know any good 65/60% keebs that are grey?
got my keyboard built though did have to bend a switch pin back into place with tweezers and well i might get some tai hao backlit keycaps
Got the boog
bro the mousepad 😭😭😭😭
chill
is that a loona mousepad or desk pad
are keychron q max boards good
yes, tad overpriced but good.
dude no hate but
that's ewaste
get a hyper x alloy for cheap
👌🙃
That's 3k Philippine pesos minimum for me
And you call that "cheap"¿¡
yes.
Im just wondering. Is there any low profile hotwap keybaords?
yes

ik
they suck
but modularity is modularity
unless someone makes modular chiclet
Can anyone recommend an affordable 60% linear switch keyboard?
define affordable
Hhkb
thanks!
can confirm
Help pls
my new keyboard came and its so good!
its just some cheap brick with cherry blue clones but im actually so happy with it for the price
idk
whats the cheapest full size
hotswap, no rgb preferably
looking to estimate this thing in comparison
is it cheating to go skeleton case for cost lol
Far from cheapest and has rgb
The case is satisfying heavy and makes a nice metal bonk when you knock on it.
So worth
huh
decided to replace the switches with the thick click box jade variant
these switches are fine but arent clicky enough for me personally
bought like a 100 pcs of thick click box jades
if they are too loud for my current discord noisegate id just adjust
Textbook answer: gateron silent black ink v2, but real answer
Any silent linear with a heavy spring:
Thocky switches is stupid thing to say because
Well
Everything else does that
Switch independently can be anything
That’s also stupid
Honestly silent linear heavy spring
Shouldn’t be too hard
Any red style switch, silent padding on the stems, you good
There’s a real particular way to lube them. The only part of the bottom housing worth doing? Is the outside of stem post
i know theres the box black ink switches wdiff mentioned
Don’t touch anything else
Most expensive quite literally (as far as widely avail switches go)
No switch can provide an actual silent property without being a silent There’s other things you can do to dampen, but you can’t expect a quiet keyboard without explicitly being a silent
yeah otherwise the switch police will get to em
wuque studios red linears i think are pom stem and bottom out at like 67g
milky yellows i feel were one of the louder switches ive had
loudest for me are outemu blues
If someone wants a quieter (not even dead silent) I couldn’t recommend them anything but an explicitly stated silent switch
yeah
You can stack on tempest mod layers till you have 0 gasket anymore on a typical red and it still won’t be quiet
i know theres durock silent linears but they are pricy same with the box inks
Realforce
outemu lemon/lime/whatever
thats my current silent
peach also seems neat
cant thock without topre, frfr
anyone like cherry mx purple switches
¯_(ツ)_/¯
do they want tactile or linear ?
works for me
milky pro yellows are the cheapest, then aqua kings for a creamy switch and then the gateron oil kings though they are expensive creamy switches
44 bucks so the gaterons are far cheaper
These are the highly raved/discussed Everglide V3 Aqua King 67G Switches.
These switches are factory lubed by default.
Keyboard Deets:
- Keychron K6, bandaid modded with clipped Everglide Plate-mount Stabs (see my previous video for details on the mods!)
- BoW MT3 Profile Keycaps from Drop
- Everglide V3 Aqua King 67G Switches, stock
Just a n...
id try and buy atleast from a seller with reputable reviews and high ratings
for 70 pcs of aqua kings they are like 44 to 45 bucks
if your friend doesn't wanna pay that then gateron milky yellows
im going off usd
on what
ye
id try them out first then decide do that
get the x47’s milky yellows btw
they sound better imo
or the ws mondari’s
milky top, black bottom
housing
yes
what they do anyways
could also check ws mondari’s from experience they sound similiar
yeah… gat yellows are incredibly cheap
like $0.13 per switch
i paid 176 cad for my keyboard case
74 cad for keycaps
66 cad on switches which im now replacing with thick click box jades got 100 pieces (incase i need spares) which cost me like 95 cad
haven’t bought much for keyboards this year
tryna get a hotswap case/pcb together for less than 30usd, just to see
some 0g205 prolly just
my keyboard cost me total like 304 usd or like 411 cad
thats doubles for your friends entire budget
so 304 usd
for my build
and i need to take off keycaps and switches
then put in thick click box jade
whats cheap safe caps
tai hao ?
changes sound profile a little, not worth it imo
whats your budget
hi75
full size?
the work though
under $30 nope..
i mean i can guess from the 75 lol
bet
tai hao, akko make cheap keycaps too
i mean, there are but, those are utter crap
skele case :D
you’ll have to mod it
gat milky yellows are already pre-lubed
there are non pre-lubed versions but watch for that
yes, lubing switches properly yourself is better than factory lube, though it takes relative alot of time, so i personally usually opt just for decently pre-lube switches.
you may have to dry up the stock lube on those switches cause, you may not want to mix the stuff up with your own lube. not catastrophical but, well…
current tally is ~5usd/pcb, ~5usd/mcu, ~2usd/2x595s, ~5usd/diode set, ~15usd/socket set... damn already above 30 for just the pcb assembly lmao
the lube job on the gat yellows is fine, though the housings leak decent amount of lube…
if you want to lube the switches yourself… get dry switches.
lube on your fingers when you socket the switches
it doesn’t matter much, just pointing out
Realforce is better anyways
i've been looking for that ty
my keyboard is still double typing with like every key, are y'all sure it's the switches? do i just need to get an entire new box of switches or is it something wrong with thekeyboard
albeit my hands are often cold when i'm typing but with my razer keyboard i've never had these issues, could it also be the fact its a linear switch instead of a tactile clicky switch?
smth is wrong with the board then, not the switches
well shit
hotswap?
are all the switches doing it?
i'm loving it so far
apart from the sometimes keys double type
i've never done this stuff, what do you mean the sockets?
like take the entire thing apart?
WHAT TEH FUCK
hotswap sockets
sometimes? could be debounce issue
hotswap sockets have nothing to do with it tbh
if its just a few keys , it could be
extremely unlikely
tx
so yeah i'm not sure why it does it and it seems some of you are arguing about it too lol
how to stop the double typing
Good red switch (any silent switch with less noise) keyboard 75% (it should have arrow keys) 30-40 dollars
Pls suggest
personally, i prefer the rev 3.0’s not the 4.0’s (ap)
the 3.0’s are less tight
regular gateron milky yellows
or ktt
mint, cabbage, sea salt
though, they cost more than gat yellows
for that price you're gonna just have to stick with a membrane
not even funny at this point. read rule 4
bro womp womp
f75 is ass get over it
Ok so what about 50dollars
dunno, ask @patent belfry
I don't fool with mx that much
obvious bait.
again read rule 4
Tell me thoctober
Lmao bros here
you responded lol
to this
I didn't ping you/call you out at all

Rules
anyways
👩
I use a cheapish dell membrane at work
it's not bad at all
nothing high end but feels good to type on and doesn't need to be proxied from china
no, hardly
Ah that sucks
not worth your time
in the time it'd take you to mod it if it's even possible you'd have been able to get enough money to buy something better
The difference in thock when i use it with height clips is very noticeable
My spacebar is screwed pretty loose so it makes a rattly sound
Rest most keys are fine
Low budget
hipyo phase is wild 😭😭😭
I will have to save up
save for something good
Whats that
using terms like thock
So was i wrong
meh, don’t be harsh on him
I cant tighten my spacebar
no… he just comes from a server of super dense community
ironic
Alright
very ironic

you need a dense desk, a deskpad, a dense case, and preferably linear case for a deep and quiet sound
So basically you need to make it less hollow?
Wouldn't that make it rattle more
Is thock a slang for thick?
Boy
pick cheapest. they’re similiar…
not sure though if you want “thock” they’re about mid on the chart
jwk blacks prolly if you want thock though they’re probably out of you budget
yes, a deskmat can very help
Its 3462423875723482346577223461513
srry for late response doing something rn
yeah, then then just get gat milky yellows or ktt switches, whichever is cheaper
@chrome raft
I get higher on my mothers laptop than on my keyboard
country?
ww sorry forgot
Krepublic?
sure, how many pieces btw?
how much do ktt mints cost
creamy or thocky? now
uh
you can’t have both tbh ~
well, those terms are exhausting ngl
just get the gat milky yellows they’re fine
@chrome raft
ali accounts?
welcome deal thief haha
Mz is fine
send yourself a link then
..
slang used by people who haven't grown out of their hipyo phase
what do you guys think of this keyboard i bought
really good value
and i heard that the flying fish switches are similar to the cherry mx reds which is what i was originally looking for
y, decent for the price
though, i hope you didn’t pay more than $50 (exl. taxes) for it
$58 💀
why
it’s okay but, i would not pay more than $50 for it
exl. shipping and taxes
you should buy a realforce instead
all epomaker does is export chinese oem garbage and put a markup on it
pretty sure hhkb case is made from (higher quality [although still cheap to make]) abs plastic.. rubber dome is not some super exlusive thing…
and they charge how much for a brand new one?
huh
nuh just over bit over $200 without the lite versions
they both use abs
i’d say i don’t see markup here
one is $200 one is $50
topre sure is exclusive
it is, though there are alternatives
uh no
you tell me no other manufactuners make rubber domes?
they don’t feel the same ofc but, well… they exist
im telling you other manufacturers don't mass produce topre domes
still if you talk shit about other company making markup without considering even what’s realforce doing
you're just being pedantic
realforce designs, engineers and manufactures their product in house while companies like epomaker just export shit that isn't even theirs lol
so… making it excluse is good you say?
also, how does it exactly affect the end consumer
shitty company in the core or not who gives a shit
when all you want is a keyboard
no? I'm saying no one else manufactures and sells topre on a large scale
this isn't about the consumer
you wanted to compare realforce to epomaker so here we are
neither companies are our friends
epomaker brought some cheap stuff to be accesible here you can’t complain that much about that
better something than nothing
I know that buddy
I should totally like a company that exports dogshit to westerners just because they think it's good value
even though they've been proven to be complete shitheads time and time again
but cheap!!!!!!
don’t know but, you know what was the situation with mechanical keyboards 3 years ago?
if you call the shit from epomaker shit then what’s your opinion on the stuff they offrered for the same money few years ago
or any seller
I haven't paid attention to anything mx in 4 years
it was mostly shit to me at the time
an it still is
the only difference with switches now is there are a million super smooth recolours
before it was like a handful of super smooth switches
keycaps have mostly stayed the same and fakes are still mostly dogshit
kailh hotswap is a piece of shit that was flawed in its design and still is today
average cheap gaeming keyboard had like kailh scratch red switches, hollow sounds 0 or 1 layer of foam, cheapest stabs they could’ve pick, and well, one award atleast for not having finally spray painted keycaps 4 years ago and 3 pin hotswap prolly (also kinda rare at the time)
we aren't talking about cheap gaming keyboards
well, 4~ years ago wouldn’t really get you anything that’s customizable, well, they are customizable just… desoldering n’ stuff
at such price point
the more you keep going on about hotswap the more I think it should never have been widely adopted
What keychron keyboard should I get because I want a better keyboard and don’t know anything about keyboards
budget?
V or Q
waiting for pcb mount
under $40 for mx is shit buys only zone
is 85ish usd a hard ask for a bare bones hs 100% kit?
ie minus switches/caps
pla(?) case
grumbling about printing costs rn
open firmware for hacking together
custom layout
that or just go with 60%
here's the KLE file for one of my custom layouts
60% hhkb with numpad
not up to date though
100
1800
i meant my case is full size, its standard layout but custom case 😔
i mean i could get it in resin for about 20usd more 🤔
depends on the quality of the filament print and/or the brittleness of the resin
the more durable option is most likely the better option
i think the resin is better, less flakey looking? but idk much about printing
so like 100 for pcba + case, but you gotta solder it yourself lol
shudders at soldering 104 diodes
ehhhhh
yeah, not bad for me, but idk if anyone else would find it worth the time/effort over a regular fullsize
counterpoint: zmk is funny
it could be cheaper
vial would probably be more in line with whats expected tho im guessing
maybe with a skele case, but idk
but it's to be expected when you're not printing en masse
the pcb itself is like 30ish
skele case might run another 20-30
but idk how that compares for most peeps
could also possibly halfish the print cost by doing low profile sandwich
and getting an fr4 plate
would be nice if there was a standard full size case i could piggyback the costs on :/
find one :/
blockers
makes companies wanna do their own mount
maybe i should make a gh60 compat instead, but i want to post a funny fullsize in the bluetooth firmware server lol
or just not worry about costs as much for the fullsize as a one off
just remembered since im using a daughterboard id have to do some shenanigans probably to get it to fit properly in a 60% case, hmm
what
idk, most full sizes ive seen are very in house mounting i think
nah its hotswappable but fuck if i know how to fix that shit
if that's the most probably answer then i would try them but if it isn't the switches then i'd have wasted money on switches and i'm pretty happy with how these sound
(also dont know what they are even)
@sage swallow is it all the keys? or just a few
if its just a few , try swapping just those
see thats the issue!
because i'm not sure if it's just a few keys or them all
most prominent is backspace
but it could also be because my hands are cold and might press harder / lighter???
like righht now my hands are cold but i'm rarely double typing except for that 'h'
could it also be that i'm used to clicky keyboards instead of straight line switches
5 years of razer green switches
hell i'm an ISO lover trying to get used to ansi
hmmmm
Epomaker Th80 pro kit
Yessir
The silent version
I saw lots of hate on epomaker, but tbh it’s really good, anything works and the support helped me a lot
well people hate epomaker for good reasons
Yeah i guess
Most of the comments are reasonable
But I got lucky i guess
Should’ve bought a realforce
my monsgeek m3
what way do the switches have to go in
is it the kalih logo top
just so i know when i replace the switches with novelkeys x kalih box jades with the thicker click bar
Use your eyes perchance
stop the bullshit please.
he’s happy and you’re coinvincing/telling him that he should’ve bought something else
?
There’s nothing particullary terribly wrong about the boards
topre fans..
Yeah
You wouldn’t be this grumpy all the time if you bought a realforce
what’s so special about topre iyo?
best hall effect keyboard other than wooting?

youtube, wire and stem is fine
you don't even have to lube them
if you straighten the wire up properly
put the spacebar wire on something you're 100% sure it's flat and tap on the wire
tap on th edges
while it's on a flat surface
be careful though
bending it the wrong way or such
also, make sure to get the correct size what's the pcb thickness of the board
usually 1.2mm or 1.6mm, 1.2mm is more common on budget boards
can use 1.6mm stabs on 1.2mm pcb but it could do some issues
minokeys prolly?
1.6mm is the safer option, you can fit 1.6mm stabs on 1.2mm pcb but hardly the other way around
it may introduce some issue though, not sure if the gmk67 is 1.2mm or 1.6
calipers
assuming you have the keyboard yourself you could just use calipers to measure it

Is the Razer huntsman mibi worth it?
price?
Huntsman is ASS
one of the worst keyboards I’m ashamed to have owned
They over engineered these switches to the N’th degree. They’re wobbly as hell and you can’t do anything about it
In case you don’t known
150 at official razer store. 80 if you do some research
i’d not pay more than $25 for it tbh
Ok
Today we're going on a bit of an acid trip, looking at the WEIRDEST mechanical switches ever made. Hope you enjoy the video!
My keyboard reviews: http://bit.ly/1TbOtft
My switch teardowns: http://bit.ly/2C1QGHz
My TOP X videos: http://bit.ly/2FmpZfd
I'm Thomas and I do videos and reviews on mechanical keyboards ranging from the most sickening ...
also over engineered
i give you tokkai mm9s
theres also itw magentic valve which uses magnets and polarities
why
most vintage switches can be considered overengineered nowadays
companies from back then actually had to engineer and design in house
instead of just making another mx clone
tbh i just linked his video to prove a point that the huntsman aren't that over engineered compared to old vintage switches
ye,wasn't the first cherry switch made in the 80s
im guessing its a vintage switch ?
ye
i know them
mx is a "vintage" design
ye
fr
hey I have some of those
its pretty meh
same
removed them immediately lol
can't remember
too stiff maybe
just wasn't as good as the others i had on hand
have you tried huano silents
feels like how i imagine the realforce mouse feels
dead silent too
if i get another mouse i just want the death adder ergo but not the razer software
ew
happy 40th day of the year lol
you asking if it's my keyboard or my design
both yes
its my first full custom fr
imma make a normal 100 soon
and a family shot
the top one is the only one not of my own design
clunker?
lesovoz, iirc it was designed off of the lumberjack
watch how I built it here!
https://youtu.be/VZ1lAV-ThZo
recorded at your local library
did u see this one?
yee
mine predates that vid just barely
the 6 key predates it by a bit more
i bring it up bc the desc used to say the only altoids keeb
my altoids ones are actually used to type, not just as macro pads
thinkpad spotted
damn, that keycap theme, looks worse than rgb puke
no thanks, don’t want to be part of rgb keycap puke culture any time
i don’t have right to write an opinion?
ask a random dude if the keycaps look good
personally i hate them , mostly cause of the green 😛 but why should i care about what keycaps other people put on their boards?
theres nicer ways to say this
''personally not a fan''
oh wtf , i didnt even see that
rgb puke*, also, how do i behave to someone good when the other side is shady
i still don’t get why you delete your messages
you do…
personally , im not a big fan of how Topre sounds , but man does it feel good
i’m not saying /complaining about topre being bad but, the fact you’re recommend them to people with less than adequate budget to acquire one.
that’s what triggers me
bro take a chill pill
imagine getting triggered over somebody saying something you don't agree with
still. if you’d double your budget on everything in your setup it would not turn out $1500 but $3000
at least he is recommending something good
it’s not quite but basicly like recommending 7800x3d when someone asks for 5600 alternative around that price
budget is also preference..
am4 is a dead platform
not hard to understand at all
nope
recommending a 7800x3d over a 5600 is a pretty good idea when if can be found used for sometimes half price
amd has just released 5700 non g and 5700x3d. altought the 5700 is trash it still counts
it's still a dead platform
5800x3d is the pinnacle of am4
its not getting any better
dead platform is when the manufactuners drop support, no longer releases new cpus
ever heard of the term EOL?
yes, it’ll be soon dead platform but it isn’t dead
could say same for lga1700
intel may just release barrett lake
you realise the new cpus are just bad batches of 5800x3ds right
5700x3d are lower bin 5800x3d’s that didn’t meet the required spec to be 5800x3d
more defective wafers
don’t even know how to react to that sarcasm
still doesn’t make the platform dead
5700x3d’s are quite cheaper than 5800x3d’s
try some actually decent’ish budget keyboard then write them off.
they’re fine for people
am4 is dead asf
man’s gonna deny everything no matter what i say.
no, it’s not. they just released another am4 cpus.
cope more literally
It’s definitely not.
just released 5700x3d which is notably cheaper than 5800x3d, not like i say to buy am4 motherboards in 2024 if you can afford am5 but, if you can’t b450/550m or some a320 or a520 are also fine with 5600. it’s not a pointless platform by no means.. especally when you’re upgrading from some 2600 and need a cheap upgrade
simply, dead platform = no more cpu releases for that platform
you are being pedantic
am4 is no longer getting cpus with performance increases
the "new" cpus are just bad bins of the 5800x3d as you said
amd is literally just trying to squeeze as much money out of the platform while they can
it is as good as dead
at what
stabs, switches, body?
at keyfeel and Sound!!!!!
muh thock
actually the keycaps were awesome too
forgot about those
what if someone doesn’t want a keyboard that looks like from the 90’s
yes
retro is IN rn
so ain't no way
they are really the best way to get into alps
the full size layout and large bezzels? on the m0116
m0116 isn't full size tho
those use SKCC i think
0116 is quite an interesting layout
it has 65% arrows in a vim style straight line
think about the time period dinky
think about what computer this keyboard was made for
old, but i’m talking from a buyer’s perspective…
also, what’s the latency of the thing
i wonder
idk it worked great for cs when i had it
i don’t get why you put so much hate on thos $30-50 mx style keyboards
what’s wrong with them apart from being mx ?
because inevitably the owner will want to sell it to upgrade
only to find out its basically worthless
my logic is to buy a great keyboard for a higher price
that keeps its value
and probably won't make the owner think of upgrading
and if they do want to swap it
its worth the same amount of money
or maybe even more
i mean, the keyboard was basicly $40~ so…
say stupid shit win stupid prizes
if a super good vint deal shows up i might pick it up
about 20% less for hhkb
otherwise im out
won’t get every single penny back out of hhkb once you use it… unless it’s some old special edition
collector’s
you very likely will
especially if you got it used
you see people also like to meme about dome age
gonna need to upgrade once it inevitably becomes old
aged topre is literally worth more to some people
i sold my broken gmmk2 for $35 ib lmao
wasn’t careful enough with the hotswap sockets

also, you can fix them with some solder, wire and good superglue
I doubt hipyo watchers have any of that
i didn’t watch much hipyo tbh
stopped watching him since he sponsored some dustsilver shit
it was a BIN too
someone got the deal of their life
i don't think so
have to check
found it
side is super scuffed
kek
an 8 thousand dollar keyboard??
