The Rainy 75 Keyboard from WOBKEY might be one of the best budget keyboards I've ever tried...
It's a custom keyboard that could change everything...

C...
does he rig the sound tests?
🤨
he has some very questionable youtube shorts sponsorships but, one the mains the reviews seem to be just fine
cause?
you realize so many youtubers do sponsorships…
if you want bit more thocky rainy 75 then get the one with jwicks
what about your recommendation for fully built 75%/tkl with cnc aluminium casing for $99
those 2k~ people who preordered the boards do
they’re looking for value no?
for $99 it’s not really bad
Define mid
no one said you to buy one and replace your current keyboard
and nobody also said you should spend extra $100 on a keyboard because the $99 one sucks
it’s fine for what it is
2 years ago alu keyboard under $150 didn’t even came to mind tbh
okay, what’s wrong with it then
a’m in the hobby for 3-4 years resp.
full alu board... so its gonna sound like dog shit without foam , and with foam it just sounds like foam
first board i’ve modded? prolly some rando redragon keyboard with 3 pin sockets, don’t really remember
put alot of cotton into it ib
or was that different board
hobby of caring how my keyboard sounds, feels or modding the keyboards?
be more specific
the redragon one prolly and put some outemu switches into it, prolly packed it with some cotton
outemu browns? or red idk
what does count as custom keyboard anyways? that’s also subjective
also, it’s not nice to rate someone’s experience based on years especally in this type of hobby
that you’ve been decade into the hobby doesn’t mean you know everything
yes, but someone may be more into the hobby someone less that also depends
also, how do you know someone know’s alot without actually talking to them
man, your opinion on budget boards is shit apart from realforce
even with your decade of experience
shitty opinions
which is okay, i also have niche opinions but, if you make fun of me atleast make some more research
instead of making blank statements
you saying the f75 is trash tbh
at what exactly?
yes… you’re asking a $30 board to be competitive to a $200 one or what?
i gave you the stock sound test, there are also multiple on youtube.
there’s nothing partically wrong with the board
trash
i’m talking about the $30 one
aula f75
damn, so you call trash something that you don’t even know…
there’s your decade worth of experience
what do your $30 board and the f75 doesn’t
do you have any decent $30 boards
with hotswap sockets, gasket mount, foam layers, knob?
no one said you do nor i said you to buy one
i’m saying generally for people who look for budget boards
tbh, gasket mount is nice
it makes the typing ever so slighly more soft
and the aula f75 doesn’t have ”you have to apply 10lb force to actually see the flex”
no, it’s about on the mid side
not like some specific akko boards
wym
Looking for a decent mechanical keyboard for long typing sessions and some gaming too. Hopefully wireless. Budget of around $60 though.
do you want a knob
volume knob
mmm
https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07BRKK9JQ
Using this "Mech Feel" keyboard rn and its paining my fingers to type on for so long cuz the keys are almost jammed... cant remove keycaps or anything
isn’t that like $120+ without sale
ewaste peripherals tbh
any prefered form factor? 60%, 65%, 75%, tkl, 1800?
based in sweden.. but if prices are cheaper in india thats good too
preferably with a seperate number and function row... US layout...
i assume you can get stuff from taobao
so, 1800 or 100%
they’re about the same maybe bit more compared to 75% and tkl on avg
75 is good too... it has a seperate num n func row
aula f75 may be a decent choice here
buy it from taobao not the epomaker site ideally
it’s twice as much on the epomaker site
uh, you do the advertising for topre, hhkb, realforce all the time
chinese site
part of alibaba group, chinese version of aliexpress
man, if i’m sponsored recommend him some decent 75% that’s not used
at $30 so, about how much the f75 costs
not everyone wants used
peripherals are the last thing i’d buy used personally, maybe hdds?
no way its this cheap...
enterprise hdds are fine
yes it is
thats...
i own one
pretty sure that’s chinese
also, it should be 250 chinese not 600
600 is overpay alot
this one?
oh
ah
that makes
more
sense
yuan
but still
thats
actually cheap
why am i typing one word per message....?
you can find it little cheaper tbh
its chinese yuan right?
does this have like horrible resoponse time tho?
trying to find the catch here... this looks too cheap to be true
he confused me when he said yen
actually, it’s around 5ms wired
less than your monitor can display
5ms wired?
yes
what about wireless
oof
which is still acceptable
15 is quite a lot... almost visible right?
depends on who you ask
1000ms = 1 second so,
although 2.4G is fine...
yes, the response is fine in short.
im guessing this is only this cheap on this site?
you messed up manufactuners bias marketting 1ms for real…
i couldnt find this on amazon...
haha it’s a joke
definitely not a pass to “i don’t have clue”
you called your lcd monitor 1ms tbh
specification, reality… more like 5ms or 8ms depending if you have the NA model or S
damn its 70 bucks on the official site
it can do 1ms under best circumstances (ideal temperature) and specific gray to gray.
that’s how they rate them
you wouldn’t be succeful suing them
it doesn’t have rated input latency
you don’t know*
whats these?
watch linus video how are 1ms labels misleading on lcd panels
then don’t call your monitor 1ms
mislead more people?
congrats
pick the cheapest
only one exists lol
same for aliexpress
they wouldn’t sell those board for 70 bucks in the chinese market
how do you check the delivery charge though?
ask the seller, the customs is very likely not included
so this isnt final price?
Guyssdd
My keyboard broke
I want new one for under 40€, help plss
100% mechanical
With some quiet switches
what does quiet switch mean?
just linear? something extra quiet
yes, if you claim that it’s 1ms that’s misleading tbh
topre at €40
not everyone wants used…
peripherals
not everyone wants to clean them
also €40 for an used topre board is a scretch tbh
Soooo?
oh he does
i dmed u invite to Swedish keyboard server
can probably find some used boards there
or post a WTB
i’d point out but this may fall under rule 4
just warning so you don’t get muted
no?
tbh ask a mod…
go read rule #4 then
last time i did something similiar, i just tried to give out something for free and well, mod didn’t particullary like it
- Do not spam, shitpost, troll, or advertise. This includes (but is not limited to) gameservers unrelated to LTT (eg. private Minecraft servers), low-quality content (such as memes or recycled posts, etc), general spam, religion, and politics. If you're not sure your post is allowed, it likely isn't.
im pretty new to the language.. time to translate every sentence
i invited him to a keyboard server for the country he is in
can type english there if needed (pretty sure its allowed)
have done it multiple times
ah k
if u need some help let me know
thanks, just translating the channel names rn
im Norwegian so i can help u find whatever ur looking for in there
i mean, technically it isn’t probably but, i’d ask a mod
why
its not advertising
its not spam , shitpost or troll
man, giving a freebie to someone also isn’t technically in the rules either
asking for them is
but giving?
no, i just don’t want him to get muted that’s all
like it's somene you talked to and is looking for more data so yeah also it's in dm's not posted here so why care
what’s promiting about me recommending a keyboard?
i don’t get a single penny for the recommendation
so ???
i’d still not risk it though
just stop please no one cares
ask a mod if you can send a server link for e. reason
stuff in dm's isn't here so just stop
¯_(ツ)_/¯
man, ask a mod seriously… 1 minute of time
u can do it since u care so much
expect they do and answer
LOL
they’re in the most part in tc1 and tc2, pb chat
also, they won’t even if it would be agaisn’t the rules it’s prolly too little
i’d still ask them though
people shitpost all the time, which is agaisn’t the rules
Anyone?
ask randomness tbh
what?
any specific preferences? does it have be just linear, or silent linear
hotswap sockets?
they’re nice to have when your switch on your board breaks or such
Some regular mechanical keyboard
I like em red switches 🤷♂️
Just less than 40€
Also preferrably durable
maybe keychron C?
Not avaliable in my country
just don’t smash your board,
don’t spill liquids…
don’t eat over the board
I do 1st
Das y i ask durable :)
Maybe sumn 100%?
I had white shark commandos i think
i don’t really know a budget that’s 1800/100% at $40 and decent
1800?
Ooo
reddragon might have something
Yes
yeah, then redragon will do just fine
preferably pick one with 3/5pin hotswap sockets if there are any available to you
Huh
for 40euro they are the quickest delivered you can get as they sold in normal sites
it doesn’t matter much, but one of the common issues is when you switch breaks and no longer registers presses
Huh
Prolly that happened on my old one
T aint working
Had id for a few months
yeah, the switch broke very likely
Can i fix?
do you know how to solder stuff
desolder/solder
have the tool
Dinky , this was for u
i don’t have flux paste/rosin to clean the solder tbh, one is 35w needle solder, second one is 120w ol’ chonker (you don’t use that one for soldering electronics tbh),
it’s a very cheap set.
i don’t so soldering often it’s somewhere
last time i did solder prolly 3-4 months ago
idk
yeah, 3pin sockets
you can swap the switches when one breaks
outemu has some decent switch offrering
tho, i’d not upgrade this board personally, unless you have alot of time
sure
wha do you mean?
nothing, you’ll be fine
i have zo change a whole keyboard cus of 1 key
i will prolly upgrade i never
idm
blud
iz so annoying
yeah, i gave up also because i realized there was a second hotswap socket popped i think, i just sold it as with broken socket
too much pressure applied than i should have
but, the sockets popped relative easy
it was the gmmk2
it was totally my fault tbh
didn’t pay attention and that’s about it
i had to file down parts in order to fit new stabilizers
what a waste of time
and money
;-;
didn’t have files on hand so, had to buy those as well
yeah, diamond files are handy
prolly just steel
very fine for filing aluminium
needle files i assume
imagine filing down an iphone
the mental pain of people watching it
i mean, you know it does hurts when someone before you destroys something valuable for no reason
yall
are msi keyboards good?
i found kinda good one for 30$
atleast i think it good
msi elite c521
there is nun less than 50 euros
and this one 30
it also takes some time to desolder tbh
with hotswap sockets you… pull the switch in matter of second
desoldering gun
hakko desoldering gun*
no
👍
can get cheap desoldering station thingy for like 100-130usd
I've just got a pump rn
still, hotswap is faster tb
soldering is fun tho
solder more reliable
depends
pinecil V2 is super nice
hotswap will always suck for normal switches because of contact issues and bent leads
depends if ur shit or not
I have the v2
if you’re careful with hotswap sockets, you won’t end up with a popped socket
shit solder joint
don’t put more force than you should and it’s like chance close to 0
if you dont want shit solder joints just use decent leaded solder
with high enough temp and flux
and using tiny baby irons with super fine point tips is bad too
like the smaller tips on something like a TS100
no heat transfer into the solder joint from lack of contact area
use a fat chisel tip
ive done multiple 100% keyboard switch swaps and the two things that take the longest are the desoldering and cleaning the soldering is incredibly easy
its way worse desoldering the shitty high temp lead free stuff from the factory without damaging stuff or going through multiple solder suckers
if its a custom and you start with leaded then its a non issue
think i use B2 tip
if u have desoldering gun , lead free should be pretty easy
just desolder with high temps
if you spend 300 on a decent tool or less used then yeah
the cheaper solder sucker guns/stations have tons of reviews about them burning out or clogging/breaking and probably wont last more than 1 keyboard
if I was to get one id just go with a hakko and not deal with the headache but have not had a use for a solder sucker in a while
I have some old stations with a hose and vacuum pump from stuff like PACE and they would clog constantly and struggle with lead free
ended up just setting a cheap amazon iron to 400c or more and burning through cheap solder sucker plungers i had around
i got a cheap desoldering station , have used it a bunch
probably desoldered like 20+ PCBs
if you take the work yes
does lazy count as argument
too lazy to desolder and solder
i can just pull my switch puller and pull all the switches within two minutes
curiosity
all MX switches eventually have debounce issues from the contacts wearing out from normal daily usage unless its low polling rate/very high debounce delay
so you need to swap them as they age and it shows itself
appears as letters typing 2-3 times in a row with one keypress
they do not last that many presses
atleast within their specified contact bounce time window
if you have a 10ms debounce they probably can
cherry claiming actuation lifespan in a perfect test environment 'fact check'
so what ur talking about , is user error
dirt etc
use your keyboard in a cleanroom then and only press on each key directly from the exact center of the stem with no force variation millions of times
i haven’t had issues from cherry clones/copies over 2 year age, i’ve used one a4tech b or “cherry mx clone” board alot
it’s more of an issue on mouse switches than keyboards
this is true
think its mostly the china switches
this the one with track pad and shit right?
assuming it was used for the buttons , left and right
if i still used regular mice switches , i would totally get some Cherries
ttc mouse switches are nice
GM 8.0 tactility
what were you doin
i like the huano pink dot shells alot
crisp
did you throw the mice or
the switch just decided to give up?
there are hotswap mouse sockets thoccy
what about those
asus does that stuff
on thier rog mices
you should throw it like frisbee
i throw my phone like frisbee when i’m lazy
always landed safely
for some reason i didn’t broke this way either the ipad nor my phone
dam
oh
throwing skill issue for the streamer
why would he throw it in the first place lol
no, it clacks
the old monsgeek m1 did thock
but, it was but boring sounding board
especally with the foam
gateron black inks more thocc
try v2’s
ink material ew
or the boxe one
i don’t think
jwicks relative budget thocc
there are so many switches rn
hard to find out the best dollar/thocc switch
part of it yes
partially
just get a PC switch
fill your keyboard with liquid metal
thocky keyboard
still can’t find caramel keycaps i’m looking for
sadly
yes, but, are they semi transparent?
like with outer shell being transparent and inner opaque
it creates jummy look to it
yummy
- jam
any suggestions?
same finish like klein r2
but, orange
DMK is decent
yeah… i just want them because of the finish
yeah, wish there was orange/caramel version
they only have the klein blues and reds i think
maybe emeralds
if that’s a thing
mmm
Use Taobao long enough and you’ll realise Chinese branded products are almost always cheaper there than if you bought from their international storefront
yeah, so far no issue with the $30 kb
man if only their spacebars and legends were a tiny bit better
(and their kittings weren't ass)
not sure if the delivery is gonna reach where I want it to though,,,
uh huh
dinky here for whatever reason thinks everyone can and is willing to go through the hassle of buying from taobao
you can use superbuy
tends to make some stuff a lot cheaper
I mean... I need to convince my parents to get it for me... if I show them a chinese site, they aint gonna trust it...
buying from taobao is super easy tho
It isn’t tho more often than not
superbuy.com , paste link , buy
Having to use a proxy and getting hosed by their exchange rate isn’t exactly an easy process
so true
i love getting chinese branded modelling tools for cheap
and i can get japanese paints for close to jdm pricing too 😃
Hellllooooo, does anyone know any good keyboard with spiral cables? (Price range starting from 100 USD), cause my cousin is searching for one for his new petshop
I think akko will has coiled cable included in some of the more expensive ones
alos you can always buy a coiled cable seperately
monsgeek m series have coiled cables
but, that’s not fully built kb
no switches nor keycaps
not sure if the m1w comes with coiled one
anyone?
?
this keyboard any good?
https://zealpc.net/ zealios sale
Zeal Generation Inc. is a Canadian based web store specializing in supplying premium mechanical keyboard accessories and kits worldwide. We are known for our Zealio®, Zilent®, Tealio®, Healio®, Sakurio®, Roselio®, Clickiez® Switches, Zeal® Stabilizers and many more projects to come!
still damn expensive tho
uh, monsgeek m1 is not $30
is ther anything wrong
asked for coiled cable board so…
it’s his requirement not mine
what’s dogshit about it?
he asked for it…
if he demands it?
who’s stopping him
man, you don’t understand the term “budget”
chonker board
ohhh
you should also…
1ms is marketting bias for monitors
you wouldn’t won
they do reach 1ms under certain circumstances
lcd as a technology is physically incapable of running 1ms gtg tbh
on the whole range
you can’t tell the crystals to spin faster
whatever
you stated “my monitor is 1ms”
it takes barely any research to find out it’s marketting bias
you kinda indicated “5ms is bad” on the $30 board by saying your monitor is “1ms”
at what is it bad though
be more specific
please
saying just it’s bad is a blank statement when you can’t say the reason
that’s wrong advice then
you call something bad you don’t even know about
when they ask for sub $50 why’s the f75 bad?
i’ve never recommended the f75 to someone who’s looking for high end board
obviously there are better
but, the f75 is awesome for the price
the $30 keyboard is great, what logic is that with you
it’s much better than your average gaming board
better something than nothing
great compared to the garbage they own
damn
which one ho
not everyone likes rattly stabilizers, knob is handy, nice switches are, it’s wirelss…
hotswap sockets also
F75
one switch breaks, you can easily hotswap the switch
if you’re not careful*
that aint 30$
on taobao
oh
does fantech make good keyboards?
damn, you just can’t accept a loss at all
you can’t really say what’s wrong with the board that’s all..
compare logitech, razer keyboard to the f75
why?
i’d not call bloatware software a feature
that eats your ram whole
minus your data privacy
just the darmoshark m3s software currently on my oc
it’s like 40mb of ram
ermm, it’s not
ran it through malwarebytes and virustotal it was fine
you can could technically call spyware everything that collects you data tbh so… everything.
also, discord is owned by tencent so…
…
..
i don’t run random crapshit on my pc
i was the dud who always removed viruses from other people’s pcs
you don’t have to.
also, what’s wrong with chinese software
you seem to have no idea how stuff works…
chinese = bad?
you can search it in youtube
right at what?
also, running the software doesn’t mean it’s not malicious when it’s literally not torjan/ransomware
the point of scanning the software with antiviruses
@patent belfry you must have a guilty pleasure for doing this so much
darmoshark software was detected 0 in virustotal and malwarebytes also didn’t catch anything, prolly could also use bitdefender but why?
man, you’re complaining about chinese software when in reality those collect prolly less personal data than your synapse
also, eat less ram
if im even 20% sure I got malware im straight up clean wiping and reinstalling
ram? whew, thats...a step above
ram doesn’t catch viruses
i mean… it’s not like it stores data like ssd
data in ram cannot physically persist thru a power cycle, unless you have server ram
stfu kve you use 3 antivirus scans
If you’re not sure, it’s better safe than sorry
I ran a trainer for a game that I thought was a fling for halo mcc.
well, the there was several red flags I was mentally aware of but hey, whats the worst that could happen. Nothing opened.
No output, not even an error message. Looked at task manager for a split second, "eh, better safe than sorry"
wiped.
malware can go so deep kve
i don’t think standart dimm ram can hold onto anything once you remove the power
it can sit in the MBR of a hard drive.
kve buddy, you tried to vouch for software with 3 subsequent malware scans.
that...is just.
you cant act like you know about this stuff like that
so, you tell me i should be constantly worried about malware?
i’d be paranoid about every loophole in the chipset then
I like how he goes straight from 3 malware scans that are all probably using the same definitions anyway to the southbridge controller unit firmware
never caught any malware or anything and i’ve been plenty caucious and aware of what i’m downloading
and even if i had…. i probably wasn’t “serious” enough
eh, we all downloaded stupid shit. Thinking defenition scans is a vouch for software though is just ignorant
sometimes something you don’t suspect as being malware can very well be
ehhhhh, you should / dont want to start with, spoonfeeding. Sets a bad precedent
also, it’s very hard to filter out stuff with just common sense when there are hundreds of files on colleague’s pc
you seem like you have been using mccafee lol
?
it’s grail of joke antiviruses
lmao I just said I wiped my drives before anything else and thats what he goes to
dang it
tell me a good 60% keyboard for gaming and modelling don’t care about the price as long as it’s worth the price
wooting
wooting 60he ordered from their website and not ebay scalper trashbags
1-2 month wait usually but nowhere near as atrocious as waiting over a year for plastic keycaps that are rainbow vomit colored in a groupbuy
this is true
moonlander 👍
it plays the ussr anthem
when you recommend Linux to internet people
im in the uk are there any decent mechancial keyboards 60% max size about rk84 but for around 30-40 pounds. rk61 is just out of budget at 50
Wait for a rk61 sale
Any Keycaps recommendations off Amazon up to 35$?
Pbt preferred,
All white / Brown&white / Black&white
I saw the Yunzii Cofee Cat keycaps for 37$
They look really nice, are they worth the price?

It doesn’t look like the ones I lookes at previously
Ill send a link, sec
yeah, those you mention look better
you can also check akko chocolate
they’re about $40
Ill check them out
Thank you 🙂
depends on if you want numpad/not
if you have less desk space then numpadless
i have too much ☠️
should be outemu/3pin
it won’t support most switches
you’d have to clip the switch
individually
it’s still useful
once one of your switches turn non working
clip?
clip the legs off
How many layers should one do on a tempest mod?

start with 3 and go up
3 usually ends up being perfect imo
Gotcha thanks
more can end up in more low pitch sound if you want that but eventually you're fucking up the feel
Does epomaker use cheap chinese pcbs
epomaker is a shit company 😊
they make some decent budget boards
they kinda all suck tbh
What kinda foam do you guys use for foam modding and where do ya get it?
are you fr?
hahahahaha
idk just something about that feels wrong lol
I’m just prepping to do all the standard mods to my RK84
I have never heard of someone putting sand in their keeb lmao
you can put pretty much anything into a keyboard
the denser the better
play dough it is
you can even use concrete
make sure to manage that lmao before using concrete
can somoene help
my keyboard sometimes working
sometimes not
just 1 key actually
the "t" key
prolly dead switch
😭
I just got home and my keyboard no longer works, I have tried 2 different ports and cables. I’ve taken it apart because it’s a custom board I don’t see anything wrong with the type C port or anything I have no clue what it could be
What would be like the best 100% mechanical keyboard with RGB.
budget?
150 or less
country?
USA
a keychron V or Q will do
Realforce rgb
dollar abs keycap set on a $200 keyboard
Are any of them solid black I am yet to find one if there is
As of right now this would be my choice https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-v6-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40320325058649
The fully assembled version includes: ABS plastic housing The keyboard PCB, screw-in stabs, and the steel plate Double-shot OSA PBT keycaps (including Mac & Windows keycaps) Keychron K Pro switches The barebone version does not include the keycaps and switches. No discount codes can be used for V6. Please drop your
I've stolen 3 sets of glorious panda's switches from Best buy and 3 sets of glorious lynx switches from microcenter
🪤
thocky keyboard
y?
...
nah
nah
i refuse to belive
ty
whats wrong w em?
😭
okay i said that ironically
wtf
tf that gifs
redragons are atrocious from nonstandard switches, bad software, questionable PCB quality, really high input lag for a wired
and now they are increasing in price like they are more 'premium'
charging more than what they used to go for
should never pay more than 20 dollars for any keyboard from that brand
TIL my RK84 came pre foam modded and with lubed stabs from the factory lmao
is Keychron C1 Wired a good keyboard for 50€?
it’s fine
no silicone pad unlike the V1 but, has atleast some bottom foam
why what
ignoring some of us
which one do u suggest then?
im on a tight budget..
- i think its good for me, i aint looking for alot
just good sounding switches and preferrably hot swappable
and asthetic looks
just thocc
y?
evga z15
cheap fullsize with hotswap standard sockets
fits normal switches
can be found for 30-50 dollars
see thats a nother problem
theres not much options in my country
i’d not call 3 pin sockets standard
i would have to wait for few weeks and pay like 20 shipment atleast
more standard than redragon
garbage sockets with nonstandard lead width
cannot fit normal cherry switches
89?!
45 on newegg
was wrong w otemu?
the main thing it has going for it is that you can find it for 40 dollars in alot of places
you’d have to clip off the switch legs in order to fit into the sockets
comes with scratchy kailh speed silver switches
new egg doesent exist in my country
i got that keyboard a while ago to use for gaming mainly and swapped the switches to kailh box which effectively doubled the price of it since i hate silvers
still did not like it for other reasons and just bought wooting after that
Uh
but its the best cheap keyboard ive used and i know of other people who have used it and were fairly happy with it
Ima just go w redragon
the only thing worse than redragon is glorious gmmk and that is because its just as shit but 3x the price
gmmk2 is fine
talking about the fullsize gmmk
Damn
i had a fullsize gmmk and returned within the same day it was so shit
glorious shit company
Meh im getting very good looking and fine sounding 100% for 30€
the kailh switches flopped right out of the switch plate from the ass tolerances
when pulling adjacent ones
and then it lied about the polling rate
and the polling rate adjustment was broken in firmware
RGB was just as bad or worse than redragon software
i mean… it’s from like 2017 originally
it was fine back then
reason for buying that one was for fullsize layout
i ordered a monsgeek m3 base
same with gmmk pro it was fine value until a year later where it got easily outcompeted by $150-200 keyboards
gmmk was like $17 on glorious website a while ago
not bad at all
i just got tired of it on buying garbage and ordered two HE early last year no issues to this day
i just dont like linears as much as tactile/clicky but im fine with the tradeoff for actually decent features
smooth switches with adjustable actuation and no switch failures yet
have yet to see it do anything like chattering when every single mechanical keyboard ive had previous exhibited it eventually
after 6mo-year
there are more hall effect boards than just wooting
and thats a good thing
objectively better switch technology than having a bouncing contact leaf that wears over time
should become the standard for higher end keyboards
meh
it’s nice but, i don’t really need customizable actuation point
the switches sound average
and feel also
the only real complaints i have with the keyboard are that there are no heavier switches for it and the case/plate cannot really be customized but atleast they are releasing a spring variety pack soon
nonstandard spring dimensions that have to be non magnetic
i found aliexpress stainless springs that are about ~80g+ and fit the housing they just are an odd fit
the non standard sockets and sound are dealbreaker to me
the worst thing is probably just lack of switch variety currently
but that should change as more hall effect keyboards are made
i never really cared about sound as long as its not offensive since i dont pay attention to it
just how they feel when typing
they do sound much better though after swapping to heavier springs and adding lube to stems
tactile HE when
if i compare a stock switch on the numpad to one ive replaced
the main reason for no tactile HE is probably just because they would kind of diminish the advantage of adjustable actuation
true
or the analog input
ill wait for TX or a good spring maker to make some nice 80g springs
but very few games actually utilize analog input well so that is a minimally used feature for me
Geon is doing both TKL and 60 HE PCBs , so ill wait for those
Got a question
I ordered the Epomaker Th80 pro Barebone like a week and a half ago
I recently saw loads of negative comments about Epomaker, but not on this specific keyboard
Should I cancel?
Or am I good
personally i would , epomaker is a HORRIBLE company
😭
Holy shit
What have I done
It doesn’t let me cancel
Fuck me
Well
It is what it is
where u from
Israel
The package already passed customs
check ur countrys law , about refunds etc
Ill check
Thank you
I can’t😭
Guess Ill just have to wait for it to come to my house and see if that shit even turns on
why bother? they’ll ship the thing dw
hm
I saw so many people that saying the keyboard doesnt even turn on, or not turning on after a couple days of usage
That scared tf out of me
happens on literally every other products
DOA is not that uncommon
Reliability tho
I really hope that it will come with no issue, it’s my first mechanical keyboard
there aren’t that many thing that could die on a keyboard pcb
99.5% it won’t
arrive DOA
The board should come on february 1st, Ill send some pictures when it will arrive
But my switches and keycaps still not here
i bought aula f75 (also epomaker)
apart from having lube under the stabilizers no issues
easily cleaned off with some cloth
better more lube than less
Hope everything will be ok
hm
But I won’t buy from them again fs
- shitty company, but it won’t stop me from purchasing thier stuff
Lmao
hm
?
oh nothing.
Gotchu
tbh asus did something relative recently with thier X670E motherboards, where the motherboard would just fry x3d skus due to high voltage, literally melting the cpu and frying them, and as a response they released bios version that was supposted to fix the issue, well it did but, also not completely the voltage was still high but, not enough to melt the cpus. if you wanted to install the beta bios version that would prevent the cpu fritage you’d get officially warrianty void which is insane. gamers nexus made video
After they criticized them asus stated you’d be no longer warrianty voided with the bios version and they eventually fixed the issue entirely
but the damage has been done.
other companies aren’t much less shitty
i’d not just avoid completely buying because the company does some shady stuff with their marketting and pulling nonesense lawsuits
Rockstar very recently pulled some lawsuit because they think Remedy’s R logo is too similiar to theirs
It’s not.
does anyone know a cheapish tenkeyless keyboard wireless usb kinda thing like the ajazz 820 pro kinda thing? it's like £30 shipping from epomaker and i can't find anything like it on amazon, i want it to sound smooth and be hot swappable but this for £65 minus the shipping is perfect, if anyone can link some really good alternatives that i might be able to get on amazon or something, that'd be bliss
aula f75 from taobao/aliexpress
I should buy one to shit on it
not my money
do whatever
idk where you would shit on a $30 keyboard

all the cons i’ve found are: north facing sockets, doesn’t support pcb mounted stabilizers, screwless design, plastic body, no VIA/QMK support, and that’s about it

but, you can’t really compare a $30 board to a custom $300 one or such
compare it to sub $100 boards
at most
pros ~ cheap, relative smooth switches no scratch decently pre-lubed (leobog reaper), hotswap, good stabilizer job, knob (down to preference), decently bright rgb (if that matters), doesn’t sound hollow, cream’ish/marble’ish sound profile, fine looking pbt keycaps, low input lag based on the reviews, wireless bt/2.4, 4000mah battery, good gasket performance for $30 ain’t bad

ehh lemme unblock him what he says
just trolling/shitposting aight
not gonna unblock you second time
@patent belfry SP is being sold off btw
i gotta buy some ice caps
Signature Plastics Update
nvm its so damn expensive LOL
I literally got no info
Just people shitting on another keyboard, all I want is a wireless usb tenkeyless keyboard for like less than £60
@bitter oar
okay lemme reiterate, where can i get a keyboard like above but NOT wait for like a month shipping, i hate that shit i want it like now, tomorrow or at worst, in a week
VGN GAMEPOWER RK86 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard Apex Pro TKL 75%, 2.4G/Bluetooth/USB-C Wired Gaming Keyboard M75, Gasket Mount with TFT Color Display & Knob, RGB Backlit, Hot Swappable Linear Switch https://amzn.eu/d/106seQl
Do you lot think this is reliable looking?
It looks the same to the ‘attack shark k86’ but this is gamepower and rk86
Does anything seem fishy
VGN makes decent keyboards
Is the Ajazz AK820 Pro a good keyboard ? I have seen some videos on it but if someone here has it, does it feel good ?
they sound bit boring for my taste but, seems like nothing wrong with them
yes, it’s decent
ok thanks
though, it’s no longer in sale on the ajazz site
i’d probably not buy it for 60 bucks
the spacebar/stabilizers may need some tuning also
well i have it
okay well then what do you recommend me for 60 bucks?
is a screen required or nah
nah
if you want to save also aula f75 is excellent value from taobao
leobog hi75 + some switches + keycaps
the ak820 pro is fine though, i’d maybe wait for some sale
if you like it
damn i just heard a sound test i'm going with the aula
So it is a legitimate keyboard that is not a scam?
scam like…?
yes it isn’t a scam
random brands rebrading the same thing is not that uncommon in the kb space
Okay this is what I needed to know
I don’t know much about keyboards so when I find something named differently to another brand it seems very sketchy to me
I doubt anyone has that exact keyboard but if you say it’s legit then I should probably go for it
I’m sick of razer green switches (plus my razer keyboard is getting so old)
It looked weird cause their page only sold 2 mice and that keyboard
they sell, keyboards, F1 series mice which are pretty decent, mousepads
not sure about the quality of their mousepads
so my spacebars brackets keep ''falling off'' how can i make them stick to my spacebar? can i use glue? if so, does it matter what type of glue i use?
which keyboard
I just want a simple but specific keyboard to get rid of my old black widow pro
razer chroma black widow v2 i think
yes, the VGN one is fine
Good to know good to know Ty Ty
yeah yeah i know its old but i like it
actually im not sure
i’d suggest not using glue on the stabs
you’ll find it really hard once you want to clean the thing
if the stabilizers are regular mx stem put try putting some cloth into the stem holes
but, it sounds like your spacebar has broken mx standoffs
what to call them
¯_(ツ)_/¯
i got them back on by myself but idk if its gonna last
i don't know much about keyboards so yeah
thanks for the help tho
tbh, at that price there are aluminum kits
like leobog hi75
buy it from taobao ideally cause it's cheap there
anyone know of 6 key general use keyboard maps?
i found as low as 8 but i only have 6 in this case
Isn’t it epomaker’s?
I don’t really fw epomaker
Saw loads of negative reviews
some companies are worse, also, every company has negative reviews
look at trustpilot on asus
Not that many, for sure
I don’t want to have a product that I won’t be satisfied with and won’t get any support if anything happens
asus is much larger company and they let thier motherboards fry $400 cpus
also, if you wanted to fix that issue you'd void your warrianty
Idk man, Ill just cancel my order and go for the Yunzii one for 15$ cheaper and more reliable
yes, they did annouce later on after they got heavily critized they made it no longer warrianty voidable.
they're the same
i'd suggest buying the hi75
i bought from epomaker few times and the stuff surprisingly works
Surprisingly🥲
Just build a keyboard from the keychain k2 pro jadeblosom lubed from Penske and maker Rome key caps turned out great
asus is also hella incompetent
from their "evangenlion" mobos to their rma experience to their laptops with shit lm application
epomaker are baaaad
💀
So later I had a problem
Whenever I want to type or press any key on my keyboard it doesn't type unless I double click the button
Like for example I have to double press on b button to type a single b
I cannot find a solution

Hello everyone.
I am currently trying to research how custom keyboard making works with the goal to make one of my own. Currently I am not quite sure/ understand the following thing:
What is the difference between cherry mx switches and the ones that other companies make? Like Gateron or Everfree? How are they better or differ from each other?
Does it matter where I get my switch samples from? (I am about to buy gateron switch sample but I am not sure whether it will affect my choices in buying switches)
cherry was the company behind the design of the mechanical switch, any switch after it that uses its design is a cherry style switch. Gateron is an example of a company who makes cherry style switches
they're a good choice to go with since they're outside the realm of...group buys and limited supply
Cherry MX is... not that popular in the custom keeb scene.
There are hundreds of other choices that are equal (for cheaper) or better.
Which tester set should I buy in order to find the switch that suits me the best?
Thank you so much @static kite @magic wolf
Uh.
I am looking hybrid gaming/typing silent mechanicle switch that doesn't make that loud click sound but still has that "click feeling" when I press it.
Every switch has its own personality, I guess.
Ah, tactile silent.
Kailh will do.
I have used Kailh silent, they're... very silent.
You really won’t know until you
Know. You know?
It’s personal.
I found myself adoring silent switches
Silent keyboard
Also, yeah. Every switch variant has its own personality.
But just start off with the cheaper ones.
I'd recommend Kailh for that.
Does this affect me as an end consumer when i buy their proper products?
