can't you just pick it upš
yeah ig
cheese grater stagger
Average hobbyist struggles to fathom 40s oddity
"guys can I get a 40usd keyboard suggestion?"
"buy the worst keyboard you can, get the realforce"
"is the akko 3098b good?"
Ā“"buy realforce"
haven't seen anyone waste more of their time giving bad advice to people who want cheap thock
then the notorious realforce dummy
Nah real force is just the goat
i have regular socks
It is applicable for every situation
it's just not for people who want to save and get slmething ordinary
The only one and done solution

Proven time and time again
Average hobbyist is unable to fathom the second hand market
I recently found out my r1 has a polling rate of 125hz
Great ego boost knowing that I shit on sweats who have wootings with a Japanese rubber cup
Another reason realforce is the goat
Imagine buying ewaste when you can just apply some tlc to the goat
unfortunately only for some, most people want something new that they can customize
Unfortunately no
Uh yes
Im afraid not
Oh youāre that dude with the āfully rebuiltā amp
Nice to see that youāve come around to the goat
I am in china rn, arguably more outside than you ever will be
unfortunately no š

Between the Razer - BlackWidow V4 75% and ASUS - ROG M71 Azoth 75% which is better. I want to buy a keyboard from bestbuy for a few reason mainly that I have a giftcard their and their warenty.
M71
someone help with my leopold fc900rbt
i reset my pc and the keeb disconnected. i cant remember how to connect it through bluetooth, says i need some code that i dont know
Why?
i dont know the code
@kindred oracle why is the M71 Better I askewd around and I have seen people saying the razer is better?
what?
how to fix rattle for FREE !!
lil uneven tho
but it does fix rattle
https://arbiterstudio.com/products/polar-65 this keyboard is a wooting 60he alternative and currently on sale
All good. Glad I could help
bc asus menu and customibility
why do TKL 70% keyboards exist
They are like awkward brother of a 75%
it makes no sense. also, look how that shadow x is thick⦠like couldnāt they fit the extra fow of function keys?
TKL takes too much unnecessary space
I have a very unpopular opinion which is that 80% keyboards are the best
Itās literally just a 100% but with the usless num pad yeeted off
i mean, TKL is a valid choice but, i donāt see a reason going for it other than being usually cheaper and having full sized right shift
The reason I love it is because a lot of the games I play use the pg up pg down and delete so itās much easier to do that
uhhh, like 80% of 75%ās have del, pg dn, pg up
and home
or ins
Yes but I personally find a 80% easier +I have the desk space where it dosent matter much to have the little more
Again itās really just all opinion
i think she's still here
I'm sorry I didn't mean to ping
how to start custom keyboard? pls
crap
Put random shit in your keyboard
buy keychron
i only have the apex pro tkl rn
peak album cover
he's antisemetic i think
swapped some switches, can now recommend outemu lime/lemon/something for a silent tactile with light touch
big fan, mostly bc they quiet
Anyone know any good OLED screen keybaords
im pairing with bluetooth and its telling me to give a code
which i dont know
i am bro
the only code the manual is giving is 11323688 which isnt working
none
managed to connect by messing with regedit but the keyboard wont type when connected :/
leopold fc900rbt
im not stupid man
i read the manual already
ive managed to connect the keyboard to my pc but the inputs wont register
New caps came today!
Is the hibi june case any good?
I have been thinking about buying it, but it costs a lot and I'm unsure if there are better alternatives out there.
Nah you should buy a realforce
Hey I have a Keychron C1 hot-swapable keyboard and I was wondering if I could just even purchase some analog switches and hotswap just maybe WASD to be analog?
no
Save up for a realforce
New caps today and they got this extra layer in there
Never seen this before, and they soundā¦.way different than stock keychron
Doubleshot
I thought doubleshot meant
Double dipped
Just for the legend
Not straight up twice the material
My GMK caps are doubleshot
Do show
this look legit enough to buy?
totally keyboard related i swear
This isnāt me throwing shade. Thatās a very nice keycap, but
Just from what I can tell mine have like twice the material
cherry profile
More material doesnāt equal more better
Why not buy from mouser
Not like you need a 100 of them really
didnt find that one on mouser, did see them on lcsc though
was looking for something faster though
oh wait i sent the link for the hundo
not for audio i just need 3 conductors
Thatās still a 3.5mm jack yes?
ig, idk if they made them "better for audio" or something
No neutrik has better tolerances
gotcha
mouser doesnt seem to carry any with the right footprint
uxn had a 20 piece with prime, maybe?
I need to replace my razer chroma black widow V2 TE orange switches. I want to replace it with something similar but canāt find anything.
Realforce is better
Guys so has anyone tried the gateron baby Kangaroo switches ? Or the ink Kangaroos
I have no intention of returning to this terrible hobby
š
Sed
I can understand considering i have burned my brain thinking what would be my next ideal switch
Iām in there to see the market price in case I ever sell my stuff
Likely not no
Eh itās more like I have plans for my stuff but just cba
Need to wax boil all my alps and itās such a pain
They arenāt nos nor particularly clean
Especially skcm blue
Canāt mix and match parts or itāll upstroke click
Eh it is
Iām just lazy and very busy
Topre truly the easy way out šÆ
Not even
I bought my 87u years ago and noped out
So easy
Fair ig
Are these good keycaps? I want thocky

If those arenāt good please recommend a better option at the similar price
That would be better?
Iāve been looking and donāt like the black on whites look but will gmk blue samari be the same I like the look and itās also drop gmk
Thx for the help
So I've had this keyboard idea in my head for a while and would like some recommendations I currently use the C9 Ergo TK https://youtu.be/F4-WXBu0R_A?si=Jk1WTHqts1JZHI8X and really like the split spacebar on it as I use it as a backspace key so I don't have to move from home if I make a mistake. I regret buying such a massive keyboard and am looking for a 10 keyless with a split spacebar preferably as a barebones kit any recommendations would be appreciated
Order your Hulkman Alpha 85S now at https://lmg.gg/hulkmansc
Cloudnine made a keyboard, but not that Cloud9... is it a weird coincidence? Ergo keyboards are getting more popular and splitting them in half is another step in making sure your arms don't hurt if you use them for long periods of time. James had to evaluate these.
Buy CloundNine C...
My idea is for a split-space-keyboard with silent switches and transparent keycaps
Can I upload a .wav file of my mechanical keyboard I recently got?
I really like the sound of it but I'm still not sure if it's considered really thocky or not. For me it is though
Who cares what other people think
I surely don't care what other people think about the sound of my keyboard...
I don't even care about what my keyboard sounds like as long as it's not annoying ...
Not being a sound chaser is really nice
People w a open mind
This aināt politics buddy
I know you Americans love your politics
But weāre talking about how a keyboard sounds LMAO
idk how you managed to connect that to politics...
he's not okay
he's only here giving stupid advice to people who want good keyboards, don't listen to him lol
been a problem for some time now

what???
i aint tryna argue...
also im not american
@boreal rivet
itās not creamy/marbly -10/10
tbh i prefer plastic keyboards over full cnc aluminium
they are generally more creamy
well, the whole hobby is about preference
too much thock, sounds boring
Uhhhh that's how the keeb was designed, for the thicc thock
Why would I take away from that design? Lol
And last I heard thock was the same as creamy so idk what you're on about with plastics but alright
At first glance, the INFI 75 seems like just another "budget" gamer centric keyboard, but when you take a deeper look, it's pretty clear that whoever designed this board knew what they were doing, and they weren't afraid to push the envelope, so to speak, of keyboard design. The resulting board not only checks all the boxes for 2023 features (tr...
this is $105 (w coupon) excluding tax and shipping
Great, go buy it
bought one, fucked it up
You shouldn't be talking down others keebs then
during mods
also, had interferance issue with tx stabs rev 4
for some reason they had interferance issues with ws mondari and the kb plate made it worse
the spacebar literally was getting stuck
not coming up
also, tx stabs rev 3 are better tbh
Again, probably shouldn't be telling anyone their keeb is boring if you're messing yours up
wasnāt paying attention and instead of removing the ribbon cable from the ribbon socket i removed the ribbon socket
and also damaged the ribbon cable making the screen ewaste
well, the screen costs just $1 on ali (exact model) but, i damaged the pcb ribbon cable socket so,
also, somehow lost some screws so, i just gave it away
gave up on it
the sound was great tho
for all stock, the switches were very poppy and creamy
i couldnāt choose between ws mondari and the stock switches
it wasnāt my first one bruh
the sound is boring, not the keyboard. tho, i could talk about that too
iād say the infi 75 was a bit too marbly for my taste
how would ik if a switch is compatable with a keyboard
In my opinion first one sounds better the second one space bar threw me off
yeah, I do prefer the Link65 myself with the sound, but I do also like the clackiness the Space65 has to it. It's still low to me, but I like it. The Link65 is marbly which I LOOOOOVE. Spacebars are a weird beast in my opinion, however I do notice a difference in how I normally use it versus the spam test and they are two very different sounds
Any glaring issues of the G613
unless itās like less than $20 itās trash
99 aud (67usd)
And why is it trash
overpriced. weāre not in 2018 that semi-brands what iād call donāt exist
for that price you can get something like Aula F75
I'm looking for full sized
it saves you ton of space
i bet ortholinear looks weirder
I already have a ton of space so I'm fien
There's barebone monsgeek 160 out of budget
And the 5108s from Akko 120
But no akko with just full bladk
Black
i mean search on youtube⦠there are tons i mean tons of keyboards on the market, aliexpress.
Ew aliexpress
the g613 doesnāt have even hotswap sockets
got a good bluetooth full size to recc?
I'm not gonna swap the switches tho
$50 keyboards nowadays come with gasket mount
and when they break?
New one
$50 keyboards come with gasket mount, hotswap sockets, actual dampening, a knob and some even with a screen on top
ajazz ak820 pro that is
and it even has decent switches and decently creamy sound
the g613 has none of it
I don't like creamy sounds
and is more expensive
yeah, and also the g613 has probably rattly or mushy shift key and spacebar, backspace, enter
and also, the g613 doesnāt even have pbt keycaps
So
is mush kinda like a silent tactile?
G512, fantech mk853,
i love mush if true
lack of sound of the switch due to overlube or bad stabilizers
itās going to be more likely rattly because does logitech even lube the stabs
ill even take an 1800 tbh
I can only find the 820 pro on sketchy mu and sketchyexpress
there are hudreds of full sized keyboard on aliexpress
search for them on the site and then check on youtube if itās any good
get ideally 5pin hotswap sockets
I'm good I'm not going on that sketchy site
sketchy what?
Aliexpress
whyās sketchy
they do have decent return policy
just buy from well reviewed seller
Iāve narrowed my two keyboard options to the Glorious - GMMK Custom 85% TKL Wired Mechanical Keyboard and RK87 Wireless TKL Mechanical Keyboard. Out of these two keyboards which one is better?
is omnipoint like HE?
you can tell at .1mm increments?
how much faster does it seem
im surprised keyboards haven't really gone the haptic touch route like phones
or LP switches
marketing is weird
christmas gift
no i dont want a mechanical keyboard for my chjristmas š
royal kl- ā¹ļø
which royal kludge
some of them are pretty decent
tho, lately they seem to be pricey compared to the competition
Is the wooting60he good?
Ye my main game is fortnite
So the keyboard feels so much faster
Especially because I was using a random one that really wasn't that great
So like it's a huge step up
nice
didnāt akko make some implementation on it finally
Iām not sure
iād say itās only worth it if you look for the magnetic switch feature. otherwise nope.
I want to replace my ducky one 2 mini
And I want a solid keyboard
sounds below mediocre. especally for such pricey keyboard
With good switches
iām looking at the aula f75 rn
has a knob
sounds decent
rn looking at the ajazz ak820 pro and aula f75
ak820 pro has a small tft screen + knob and aula f75 just a knob but sounds better
theyāre $50 and $70
if you want something better then, prob wait for rainy 75
infi 75 is also decent but, at $105 it doesnāt feature aluminium case so,
I used to have the rk61, complete trash lol atleast for competitive gaming, sounded clean as a whistle though
yooo i used to have one too to play fortnite lol
Hey all. My razer blackwidow chroma v2 just died from dead switches after years of battles. Any ideas? Id like to have one where i can swap the switches when they die
What's a website with a good collection of keycaps?
I'm trying to find a nice purple set for a board I just got
Keychrons are a very good option for the price
true
Any RGB?
I cant find it on amazon
it's not on amazon
Oh.
Does switch lube need to be name brand or will anything labled 205 G0 do the job?
are black ink switches good sound?
nobody cares bruh
fuck you bitch
at least i have a keyboard
you have a membrane
you're an embarrassment
you fucking bully not everyone has enough power in their houses to support a mechanical keyboard
you have 2 and use one never uses the other one
cat piano looking ass
play me a song
why would i use 2 it makes no sense
meow meow meow
best
better than demon 1
where would you talk about mousepad? you think this channel too?
Nice, I just got a v3
cleannn
do you know any custom keyboards for a poor lad like me?
debating if I wanna buy another keychron or not, TKL
same, I found them to get dirty pretty fast
I'm not really sure
Amazon š
lol
Well I just got mine today and haven't really gotten a chance to use it yet so mine are still clean lol
well it might just be me eating snacks every now and then, so naturally the key caps get dirty š
I really wish these caps weren't sold out on keychrons website because they are literally $40 there
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BXDDL7HH/?coliid=I3VMLZL45OABML&colid=2G8JIGT9JTGKX&psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_apann_lstpd_R3WVF2AF07GH20HPTPGD&language=en_US
For the Keychron K8 Pro is there a way you can dissasemble it from the bottom so you do not have to remove all the switches
wow i love roya kludge
little upgrarde frrom membrane keyboard grrahhhgg
gotta get used to mechanical keyboard
it keeps doing double input
- it is wireless so big W
Do they make 75% keyboards with a sort of numpad overlay on other keys, with a function lock for when a numpad is needed? Sort of like how some laptops used to do it (I don't know if they do anymore, but I've had a few where the right side of the qwerty keys were labeled with numbers and if you pressed the fn/toggled fn lock key you could use those keys like a numpad). I'd like to clear up some space with a smaller keyboard on my desk, but when I need a numpad, I really NEED it because I'm likely crunching dozens of numbers at once. Not looking to supplement with a dedicated numpad though, because then that would just wind up on my desk all the time anyway because I'd have no place to put it away within easy reach.
If not I'd probably have to go with an 1800 size, but those are seemingly few and far between as well and it doesn't save as much space as I'd like.
I don't even know what this feature would be called, so It's been kinda hard searching for options on google or online stores.
Separate numpad is totally viable
Wonāt just serve that purpose, they make great hotkey / macro pads
Sugar 65 on taobao
What is your budget?
like 100 dollars
I'm guessing you need everything included in that price? Meaning you need caps and switches and such?
yea, is that enough?
In some cases. The rainy75 is a good mech board that is under $100USD right now I think, but I could be wrong. Hipyo did a review of it and gave it a great rating for the price https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSIKH4N5-FA
The Rainy 75 Keyboard from WOBKEY might be one of the best budget keyboards I've ever tried...
It's a custom keyboard that could change everything...

C...
alr ill look into it, thanks
its kinda crazy how.....loosening your screws a bit can dramatically change the sound sig
put electrical tape over the threads and punched em thru about 2/3rds the way and now, my gasket is way more gasket-y, and it sounds unironically quieter
?
Use your words, it's okay
is the keychron v6 good?
What are yall favorit switches that are thocky and fast/light for gaming
Currently have regular brown switches on my factory keychron k8 pro
too light
you donāt want to recommend someone switches that actuate almost by breathing at them
ws mondari, tho bit on the heavier side
š
there are tons new of switches past this year, i havenāt ever heard of so,
theyāre not the best but, definitely not bad
personally i like more creamy switches so,
My daily switches are 20g
ah yes, when your switches are partially actuated by default
whyā¦
also, donāt you slip your fingers and accidently press keys all the time?
Never
When I mistype it's my brain telling my hand the wrong letter
Also they are low profile and have a shorter actuation distance lmao
whatās your wpm
my best is 125 with 100% accuracy and I usually hover around 100-110
Keyboard āenthusiastā is unable to fathom niche switch types and weights having viable use cases
first time on mechanical keyboard and it is now start to double typing
grahhh ā¹ļø ā¹ļø \ā¹ļø
those sound anything but thoccy to me
The KTT Kang Whites lubed sound really nice to me, did anyone try them?
Noted, Iāll just forget that topre sound tests were what started the whole thock bs in the first place š«”
id say they're mostly shleffy
Zombie mode commencing
no
they sound mushy
to me
idk im no keyboard specialist
i want to buy some blank grey keycaps will these do the job?
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Profile-Keycaps-Switches-Mechanical/dp/B06WLMM1F5?th=1
Plastic or aluminum board for a deep poppy sound?
mix
personally i prefer Plastic keyboard over Aluminium
and i prefer Plastic keyboard with a steel/aluminium weight st the bottom
basicly, makes board more creamy, marbly, thocky
maybe extra poppy
and less way less plasticky
i find aluminium boards like monsgeek m1 stock sounding extremely boring
itās just thocc
the value of RK keyboards fell apart at the start of this year
there are way more options now
RK was good 1-2 years ago
Progress report. Status: miserable
that looks painful
It was. Finally "done" lubing, now to test
No lol
Just got done and 0 failures! Love these OA's, they are so good lubed and filmed and they THOCK
i know attackshark makes custom built kbs but, donāt know thier switches
That apply to the R87 from a while back? Have one in the mail and sorta doubting it was a decent purchase.
yes.
wow its as if the most cheapshit of chinese boards that came even before cheap chinese customs were a thing is a shit product
truly befuddles the mind mhm
well, i found some decent rk keyboard
R75 quite a new release
not bad actually for 60 bucks
has a knob
doesnāt sound that cheap
iād just get the ajazz ak820 pro tho, itās cheaper and has similiar, maybe bit more creamy noise profile and has a screen on top
yeah i don't care
does anyone know of a good switch tester set that contains a nice range of different switches?
Thank you to both :)
found this
The only switch tester you need is a topre keychain
anything similiar to this? with a plastic body or mix of plastic+metal (like infi75), with a knob and has to be white (does not have to be fully white tho), screen optionally, south facing leds and ideally pcb support for screw in stabs (not necessary), optionally with a decent heft of 1kg or above
has to be under $150
You are not getting kb that weighs 1 kg made of plastic for 150
infi 75 $105 1.1kg plastic with mid bezzel part made of steel and i believe aluminium plate weight under the underpcb foam dampening.
aula f75 $70 full plastic body 1kg
iām looking for something like aula f75 just little pricier (with south facing leds, optionally support for screw in stabs and optionally a screen
i was looking at the ajazz ak820 pro but, that one sounds bit hollow
Oh wait I forgot yāall are using usd my prices are and
epomaker x aula
the switches alone cost that
more*
and the keycaps also
$30 for a set of pbt gmk clone keycaps is very common
no, i hate the cherry profile layout
i prefer one of the more briāish options like xda or sa, asa, or such
so, ur telling me the rest of the keyboard is worth $2?
have you seen what kbdfans charge
nno-?
i did like once maybe not even that
yes, the keycaps are good quality but, i donāt like the profile itself so, i have no reason to pay $70 for a set of keycaps that i donāt like to type on
i can live with oem/cherry profile ofc but, not adequate
yes, and what makes the $105 āmass producedā keyboard bad
apart from having mid stock stabs and uneven gasket performance (which both of these are pretty much issues on boards below $150)
sounds like plastic shit and not ideal layout, i prefer 75%
anything else
like aula f75
it lacks creaminess, marbly
for a plastic keyboard
yes, plastic keyboards can be marbly
especally if they have metal weight under the pcb
like the infi 75
why
least sound obsessed keyboard "enthusiast"
so tru
would a skeleton mount full size feel bad.?
Can someone recommend me a blank keycap set for tkl keyboard
Grey or black
European layout
i assume it's louder than a closed case
outemu lime/lemon
Anyone here have the keychron q3? If so did the stabs need lubed when you got it
I just ordered my q3 and I remember when I got my v3 I needed to lube the stabs because they were very pingy I gotta know if I need to order lube
Question, does anyone know if the LevelOneTechs KVM works with USB hubs? So say a mouse and keyboard in the hub and hub connected to the KVM?
What the hell is a skeleton mount
why must the perfect keyboard kit cost so much : ( https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=10539
Anyone know how long wooting keyboard takes to arrive to the uk
why a wooting
well, basicly anything thatās not from razer, logitech, corsair
only feature iād only consider it for the the actuation setting magnet thing
iād suggest not buy it then
if you donāt care about those features
no i ment it doesnt sound that bad
sounds like $40 keyboard
my kinda bad 3d printed keyboard with 3d printed keycaps. It's handwired and uses a rp2040 (raspberry pi pico) microcontroller with kmk firmware (circuitpython based). Works well for gaming and typing (offbrand red switches)
and why is that
why
$40
its not like every $40 keyboard sounds the same
stabilizers, sounds very plastic, switches are mid..
doesnāt have knob (may not be a minus for some people*)
aula f75 $35 at taobao
you can buy it from ali too at $70
if you donāt want to go through the possible pain of taobao
$40-50 or $150?
rainy 75 at $99, not yet in stock ships unfortunaly after february. (is a kickstarter)
infi 75 $105 after coupon (does not include tax and shipping)
i have a ducky one 2 mini rn so i would like it to be a decent upgrade from that
do you mind building your own
ive never done it
unless you want to mod the thing inside
buy prelubed switches
are they any good
only thing you can mess up is putting a switch the wrong way and push extremely hard
or put a switch with bent pin and push it little harder than you should
it takes about 20~ minutes at most to put switches in
for me itās like 3
yes
how much better is it to build your own
not as good as hand lubed (when done correctly and not overlubed)
well, depends on the budget. best keyboard are customized no doubt
but, prebuild custom kbs are also good
something like leobog hi75 + some full pom housing lubed linear switches and 20-30 dollar keycap set is good
wuque mondaris at $0.45 per switch are great or ktt mint/cabbage/darling at $0.25-0.45 are also good
if you want 65% keyboard then sugar 65
if you want cheaper those barebones kits then go taobao
yes, i know itās overwhelming
and, the latency is good on those kits too, itās not some chinese crap
5ms~ wired
well, if you donāt care about those special features on the wooting then donāt get it
the issue with it is yes, it comes with decent dampening foam inside. but, no silicone pad
and itās $150
even ajazz ak820 pro has silicone pad and thatās $50 keyboard and has a knob and even a screen on top
but, doesnāt have optical switches. which some people may or may not find as a plus
So I spilled tea on my Mechanical keyboard am I screwed? I unplugged it right away. Took off all the key caps and put it in front of the fan
I'd say that your PCB is fried.
yeah, something i would pull from my keyboard dumpster
Its actually not bad
I added red switches
Keys feel good
And its durable as hell
I have it for around 2 years now
theyāre what iād call bare minimum whatās considered even usable mechanical keyboard
I saw much worse trust
okay so, do you only want tkl or is 75% also fine
I dont have any issues w it but i want something better looking
75 can pass
whatās your budget max, and optimal
Around 120 euros
Is max
I dont want crazy performance
Just be decent enough
Reliable yk
response?
At least 1000hz
i assume 10ms> is fine
some manufactuners may not include frequency of the boards
but, yes most common is 1000hz
then maybe 500hz but, thatās still fine
you wonāt notice it
sure it's been mentioned by NK is having another killer deal today
me and a friend went in on the star wars sets
donāt listen to this idiot
The only thing he uses to determine quality is āsoundā
I assume you want a āgamingā keyboard
So just stick to the wooting
Itās fine
he said he doesnāt care for the features that wooting offrers
$50 keyboards sound as good as the wooting while having respecable response.
@boreal rivet also, i believe akko implemented that magnetic hall effect into thier keyboard. akko mod 007b he i think. so, the wootingās feature isnāt even unique
Why would anyone buy this
preference, you donāt understand custom keyboards clearly
because it's like one order from jlc to make 2 plates and a pcb ig
what?
:/ okay can you make a case for me bc im a dumb mf when it comes to case design
alot of people spend $500+ for thier keyboards
what's a good 75% keyboard
budget?
Learn 3d cad yourself
hmmm
yeah idc
less than 200
The last time I designed something half decent I wanted to end it all the way through the process
yes i love knobs
rhetorical proposition, im just gonna go skeleton
but im fine without it if too expesnive
@boreal rivet also that shite wooting doesnāt even have a knob
I know buddy
at $150
Iām one of them
custom kb market has gotten much cheaper lately
questions, do you mind building your own
B. do you mind waiting two months for rainy 75
rainy 75 doesnāt unfortunaly come with a knob tho
yeah that's why i aint bothering, somebody can design their own case if they care, im poor
but it sounds amazing
Unlucky
it thocks, clacks, is creamy (i doubt you understand these terms) but most people like these
yea ima build it on my own and yea, im already waiting 2 months on a mousepad so it's fine š
but some donāt ofc
rainy 75 starting at $99. but, is a kickstarter so, it is a risk
but, it sounds great
unbeatable value
full aluminium keyboard
all of them say unavailable
if you donāt want a ākickstarterā then some aluminium barebone kit + switches, do you orefer tactile or just olā good linears
True unbeatable value is realforce
besides, if i wanted why a closed case could i not get an alu middle cut
Superior Japanese rubber cup folded over 1000 times to last 20 years
or acrylic if i wanted to be poor
aula f75 from taobao
lmao $35 for fully built keyboard with decent switches
I suppose I care more about aesthetics than you do
it even has knob, tho is plastic. which i personally prefer
so, iām going to test it
it has decent latency too
yeah, they start as pre-order from january 5th.
lol
3000 pieces
theyāll send it out at once
so, itās a kickstarter essentialy
they even showād a shot of 2000 of them done lmao
so, i guess less risky kickstarter?
it makes quite alot of controversy. because it sounds better than peopleās way more expensive customs.
linears are hotter
like kdb fans pcb /+ one artisan keycap costs more than the whole keyboard
i bet it sounds better than any ergo board
or gmk keycap set costs as much as the keyboard
do you have the time to hand lube or nah
prelubed switches exist
not as good as hand lubed but, still much better than stock
have i have time
it takes like 3 hours btw
that's fine
i usually don't have anything to do on the weekends
besides soccer gaes
games
well, considering itās not that-that much better sound that just factory lube itāll probably give it a pass, unless you really want that slighly better sound, more thock~
itās fine. yes
what's a good case style for a full size, if not skeleton? i don't think a printer would fit one that big, and cnc sounds... expensive
what do you consider expensive
is 1800 fine
layout.. not usd ._.
i hope itās not an usd answer
i mean i consider 1800usd expensive
yeah
do you like it
it's fine
like, would you use it
probably? idk im making something for my brother and trying to figure out the case situation
well, the pro of 1800 is that itās smaller - shorter
takes up less deskspace
more space for mice
is it easier to make a case for it?
well, because itās smaller probably yes
btw, do you want skeleton mount for aestetics?
or because of the what iād call weird sound profile
no, mostly because it's literally just punching a few holes in a sheet LMAO
I'm cheap and all i care for is silence really
oh, so some cnc aluminium hit is fine?
thatās the oposite what it does basicly
actually, no it just
well, itāll annoying more people around you than you
you can also overlube switches and have silent keyboard
that's why i was thinking about having a middle piece cut
to... keep the sounds in? idk
add more foam
whatās your budget
monsgeek m2 is fine
it has one of the most boring sounding foam under the pcb
making it kinda lacking in sound
which means quiet
in short term
basicly just thocky
can i drop a PCB in there
it has one
Bluetooth, qmk, zmk?
stab included also, but theyāre pretty niche
bluetooth no, qmk via yes
via qmk or via proprietary
i believe itās just qmk via
no Bluetooth š
what merits are there to soldering your own board anyways
the more i think about it the more pointless it seems to design
a full size that is
yes, that is pretty much pointless
it just leaks sound everywhere
the open design of a kb case
ill make a closed case
isnāt buying one cheaper?
i donāt understand exactly what do you want
nice looking pcb?
i wish to have a keyboard that's relatively simple to switch between zmk and qmk
and is full sized
though zmk is still kinda not end user friendly, so ig using a dev board would be neat
some real custom stuff here
so, design your own pcb if i understand
sorry iām kinda sleepy so
is it zmk/qmk switching necessary or na
idk anymore, im gonna go sort out my priorities or something
i don't think my brother would actually care for Bluetooth
idk, it's just for him
what does he do with his keyboard
does he even care for qmk
lmao just buy him aula f75 from taobao and give him that
tell him it was $150 and thatās about it
whatās his current kb
i think i just wanted an excuse to design a full size
oh, forgot this is not a full size
some thing that came with his pre built, either that or some keychron v
so, ewaste and keychron v is just fine
make sure he actually has keychron v
not keychron k
or if he doesnāt use the ewaste membrane
does he have nice audio headset
idk
if not iād suggest buying him a headset if he doesnāt have decent one
check, or ask him
anywone know any 60% rgb pcb's that will fit into a womier wk61?
the stock one that (specifically is in the blue version)
..is shit
I was extremally carefull with it and still broke one of the hot swap sockets just like hipiotech did
..except I soldered it back together and it at least works now :)
But its green and I hate the commands assigned to the macro keys
I'm used to an rk61.. topologically its a conformable transition but the arrow keys are unusable
You might be asking..
"Why did you go from an rk61 to a wk61?"
"Just save up for a better board"
..well its the only affordable keeb in a translucent blue case to be able to build a pseudo powermac g3 looking endgame board
also my spacebar is still rattly asf.. (even more than the rk61 was)
I swapped the stabs.. the switches, the keycap..
It still sounds the same and I don't know why
The only common demoninator(s) is the case, pcb and plate
@drifting mauve buy aula f75 from taobao for $35
What are the deepest thocciest switches a man can buy legally?
fine stabs, more than just a layer of foam under the pcb (not sure if the womier even has a foam under the pcb), has decent switches and pbt keycaps
and a knobbie
gather on
gateron black ink v2ās prolly not the thocciest but, a very thocky
First off that isnt a pcb
I'm looking for a pcb
2nd, even if it was its not the right size at all
I looked up the f60
oh, so just 60%
the usb c isnt connected to a doaughter board.. its the board itself
so even if I wanted to use the pcb out of it I couldn't
I like how it doesnt take up too much desk space
also there is nothing you can do on a full size keeb that you cant do on a 60%
i mean 75% isnāt much wider than 60/65%
unlike a 40%
..you may think 60% is insane
.. trust me we have a common enemy
THE PCB WILL NOT FIT!!!!
just use the keyboard
the built one
itās a fully built keyboard
No.
actually, that 75% is as wide as 65%
I'm foing for a very specific aestetic and the case the wk61 is in is perfect for me
uhhh, itās like 2cm wider/longer than your 60%
change the keycaps
nvm
expensive
i mean this doesnāt fit most aestetics?
I like the transparent blue
I did that already
i just find no reason to go 60%/65% if you donāt own it just for the pure sake of portability
frick you.
honestly
I like how small it is
I dont have alot of desk space
75%ās sound deeper naturally
sound is subjective
itās one 1u key longer tbh
I'm not looking for a super deep sounding keeb
very true mf
pretty sure you want rattle free stabs
epomaker is good at that
Yes, but that doesnt mean the keeb has to be deep sounding right?
not perfect by any means
no
what about a volume knob
no intrest?
just asking
this is my keeb rn
I'm a music producer and I have an audio interface
It would be compleatly redundent and I would never ever use it
okay, then sugar 65 kit
itās like uh $30
cnc aluminium case
taobao tho
worth it totally
I'm not looking for a new keyboard
how many times do I have to explain that
just pcb alone will drive you⦠not a cheap buck alone and compatibility could be an issue
includes⦠alot better stabs
I know..
That's why I'm reaching out for help
"What pcb's are compatible with the wk61?"
If you can't give me an answer than don't answer it
werenāt you the one complaing about stabs
yes and no
I dont think the stabs are the issue tho
I swapped them out with ones that don't rattle in another keeb ones and it still rattled it the wk61
Its either the pcb, plate or case
I havent tried the tape mod
I havent filled it with any foam yet
its mostly stock except for new switches and caps
yes, but the pcb itself costs almost as much as the kit and again⦠you wonāt experience rattle with the kit when you slighly lube them
I want my keyboard to stay aestetically identical do how it is now
I want to fix IT
and I dont care if its cost effective
I'm using this keyboard till I die becoase its perfect for me.
After I've completed it I'm never buying another keyboard related item ever again.
It would be worth it imo to get a pcb thats double what ive already spent on the board
I said I dont care if its cost effective
this is my end game keyboard we are talking about
look if you dont know anything first hand thats fine
I know what type of pcb will work
I know the screw layout
I know the connecter it needs on the back to plug into a daughter board
ile eventually find somthing
also, whatās exactly wrong with the pcb apart from being green
and north facing
mm
@drifting mauve youāll probably have to remove the plastic standoffs on the wk61
nah, itās not necessary actually
ah nvm
the hotswap sockets break easily and I don't like the arrow key placement
I prefer the rk61 layout
hotswap sockets break easily generally, not just on your board
you push a switch with a bent pin on a hotswap socket little harder thanyou should and thatās a rip
@drifting mauve are those moneyz worth it for just arrow key placement tbh?
and black pcb
oh yeah⦠almost forgot software support is also
but, well, it has to support via/qmk
and those arenāt cheap
Yes because its my muscle memory and my ergonomic prerogative
I don't care about pcb color that much
scrape off some software and remap the keys
QMK?
is it qmk compatible tho?
it doesnāt have the hardware
or⦠does?
I know people do that with hand wired keebs
but how do you do it on a production keeb like the rk or wk61?
Idk I'm not really paying attention
It doesn't
then how do you want to remap the keys if you want⦠to
i mean you can ask the seller for the software but, thatās usually sketchy. but, itāll work
but, they also may not have one
better to ask
idk
guys i have kailh black siwtches and im wondering if theyll fit on this barebones keyboardhttps://www.amazon.com/BOYI-Hot-Swappable-Mechanical-Insulation-Customized/dp/B0BW91X5CY?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=A1LWUN18OT83UA&th=1
any recommendation for a good linear mechanical 75% keyboard; around $50-70?
i already got an mk61 but i was thinking of buying the ajazz ak820. I looked at epomaker but couldnt find any got keyboards in the price range..
whats the best keyboard under 80⬠(in spain) that has a rgb bar? Must be 100% and mechanical.
Oe tkl
hello! i wanted to replace my old omen mechanical blue switch keyboard with a hotswap one( because easy repair) and i found myself in trying to chosse from 2 keyboards the duck one 3 brown vs the montech freedom brown, if someone could help me out on this i would be of great help, my choices are limited because i wanted it with portuguese layout, a silent mechanic keyboard with hotswap,
Yes they will
Ducky one 3 but I donāt recommend brown switches
what switches do you recomend then?
Does what switch u get have a noticeable difference in gaming ?
suposebly, some are linear some are tactil, some make noise others dont, linear for me makes me lack the feeling if i pressed or not the key
what are the options?
