this is gonna be my first mechanical keyboard
akko v3 cream yellows+gmk 67+random keycaps
Custom is funner
Its not that hard when you only need to attach parts
$160 custom
and some keycaps
gmk 67
i like the akko cream yellow switches
get the pre lubed ones from akko
barebone, right?
Manual lubing takes to long but is better
im not sure what i should do
Thos pics i posted were gmk 67s
Just get prelubed switches
im looking for a 75% or bigger keyboard
75% or tkl
65 and below are small for me
Dang
I dont use numpad or ins/pgdown/pgup/printscr
me neither
but might as well
I like more desk space
Hello! I've been thinking of getting a new keyboard lately. The RGB is starting to act up on my steelseries apex and I dont have warranty anymore. Are keychrons are a good choice?
I want to stick with a TKL layout or try a 75% this time.
@ me
What’s the difference between Logitech g413 and g613 besides wired and wireless and price?
any ideas on what tf this keyboard is
EPOMAKER TH80 SE Gasket 75% is this keyboard any good ?
kind of useless but ok
OH HEAVENS! Googling the brand that was printed onto the keyboard, navigating to their products page and locating the appropriate model using common sense and my eyes is such a herculean task!!!!!
anyways I found it
So basically buy a barebone case, switches and key caps? Are the switches and key caps going to be compatible with every case?
yessir
Make sure your case is "hotswap" and supports 5 pin MX switches
Only MX style switches are compatible with most keyboards
and standard mx keycaps
But pretty much universal
So hotswap case, MX style switches and MX style keycaps
Yeah
but for keycaps u dont need to search for it
just keycaps (usualy pbt is the best)
Thanks
What are some brand recommendations for barebone case, switches and keycaps
Then I can go look at the designs they have
Budget?
Preffered Size?
Linear/Tactile/Click Switches?
Color?
RGB?
The link does not work
uh yes it does
Not for me
ok sucks to be you then
what is it
Yessir
both gmk67
purple one $90
bmw one $160 (custom designed keycaps)
what a waste of money
How
Under $200, 75%, quiet switches, RGB, for color I'll just have to look at the designs
I like the BMW one
tell that to the hipyo tech bois
yo eggroll
rupee
whats up indian man
nah what 💀
i found a keyboard i like
i wanna hear you ropinions
it has the switches i lke too
I wish they just sold the case seprately
It should sound good
Side rgb lighting is a nice touch
Should sound really creamy+thocky
i can turn it on and off whenever right
Yeah
besides that the actual keyboard should be good right
If you cant just with the keyboard just downoad the software
they have their own software called 'Akko Cloud'
yes
Ofc
Also it is gasket mounted which is a bonus
why dont people recommend akko keyboardslol
Not very popular
South facing is better for shine throught keycaps
But since these arent shine through it doenst matter as much
also I dont use rgb often so it doenst matter for me
they are not shine through
i know
i meant like
in general, i dont like shine through key caps
so it doesnt matter ig
anyone know what these are? got them from the mystery switches from novel keys
looks like TTC Bluish White base with Brown stem
Well I just got home from a trip and apparently my keyboard is not working and kicking usb errors. So anyone got a backlit gaming keyboard with 10key on the cheap. I've never had a good keyboard backlit so i'll not be that picky.
how many keyboards does everyone have?
depends do you count 15 year old laptops?
then 3, 2 work, they are wired and are cheap toss in ones that come with stuff.
one is for the laser and the other is for the cnc machine if I ever get it working
thats pretty cool
a few of the machines at my work came with cherry keybaords
keyboards
Question? What is the best 100usd full size general use mechanical keyboard.
😰
uh how much does half a split count for
I have a K10 rn, great starter board
I just use a tinesey arudinno to test letency, but an 'xlat' looks intresting to compare.
https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/17lg4lm/what_do_yall_think_about_the_new_xlat_latency/
xlator a tinesey , could probably be used to test keyboars latency as well.
Is keychron k10 a good starter keyboard if you just want to be able to switch the keycaps?
its a fine starting board if you want the full size layout
absolutely
make sure to get the k10 pro
Doing a build with GMK Zooted, and ig luxe cables isnt a thing anymore so trying to design my own on cable mod, any thoughts
its really ugly
any better lmao
yo sup what kb should i get for under 100 bucks
Ok, found a microsoft sculpt keyboard I can use until I can get something better, which is better than on screen keyboard.
its about time I got myself a mechanical keyboard
there's tons out there afaik, but unless you specify what you want idk how anyone can help you
I'm personally looking for a retro/vaporwave one
(preferably not custom built bc I'm completely new to this)
i just want something not too loud and clacky or something
hmmm ik specific switch types are less loud/clacky but I'm no expert tbh
do better
using those to try to beat a 2nd gen NOS Omnikey ultra is bold
Damped switches exist, there's plenty of good designs. I know a guy who recently found a good damped tactile switch I can ask, I forgot what it was called. Of course it'll be a mushier bottom out, but that's worth it if less sound is your goal
Hm maybe true
Scored for a cool hunge USD btw. I'm stoked about it
Nice
steal?
Windows touch keyboard, its on the accessibility settings
from what was shown so far the XLAT is extremely unreliable
even when you are in the hundreds of samples, adding another hundred changes the averaged value by quite a bit
with horrific stdevs
while something like ldat or bump testing don't do it as bad
got something w no mush?
Minimal mush is all you can do with rubber dampers unfortunately, but it's worth the compromise if you want no sound.

Guys are there any keyboards that can resemble the tg67 with ktt rose switches?
My keyboard budget is 100, already have the switches
Is that a OK keyboatd
Finally decided to get a new kit and went for the Mode Sonnet to match my Fractal North case look, pretty hyped to see how their custom backplate engraving turns out. I decided to get one of this project I worked on last year
so is this a good keyboard https://a.co/d/5kcAVzj
good
cheap
mechanical
choose 2
why cant i have all 3
i say $37 is cheap
usd
shurg
i know its no model m but i have one connected to the xt it came with
ilove the roller on that ngl
horizontal scroll wheel is better than vertical
why cant i find a good mechanical keyboard with full per key programable rgb and fully programable with a proper alumium base pannel
that is cheap
im considering dropping 300usd for a really cute keyboard
i think i have a problem
what keyboard
brass knuckhull lesovoz, comes with ink black v2s and cyrillic sublegend caps
and some plates
basically this fellas inspiration
lol
it has a handle!
and its brass
looks like the caps are a 65usd set
do i value a piece of metal with a handle that much is my dilemma
no
Looking for a White Wireless TKL Keyboard. Preferably brown switches.
I like the looks of the ducky one 3 TKL but it’s not wireless.
Looking for a wireless keyboard, TKL with very clicky switch
Have you found anything
when did removing features and charging more become popular for keyboards
i love my steelseries apex m300
it has 12 macro keys a numpad and media controls
i see one problem its not mechanical and they dont make it anymore
give me a keyboard like this with mechanical switches and id be happy
looking at new keyboards is slightly depressing they are nothing special
I've been looking for a new keyboard too. I've been looking at keychron.
They are all the same
Have any had early black friday sales so far?
just get a keychron
I'm wanting a TKL keyboard with
- Mechanical switches - ideally hotswap, Probably brown switches at least to start.
- Wireless
- Wireless RGB Management with signalRGB
- Qi Charging (obviously I'll probably have to add this myself, that's fine).
Is there anything other than the ROG Claymore II ? It's $359 AUD, but eh, At this point I just want the perfect keyboard, price is less of an issue.
get a maker scarlet
pricey
I don't see RGB?
will alcohol harm anything with the switches/electronics on my g915? had an energy drink spill a while back and while i was able to dry it out and have no functionality issues, some keys are sticky. already cleaned the keycaps with warm water. the switches aren't removable without desoldering, making it a bit more difficult
nah mate
isopropyl alcohol is the go to for cleaning any electronics
Should i buy the razer huntsman v2 tkl or the Steelseries Apex pro tkl (2023 ver.) Mainly to play fortnite 💀
i cleaned a keyboard i bought and the difference is mad
ill post pics
here's how it looked before I cleaned it
here's after only doing a basic clean
i found it in a charity shop for £7
it uses the AT connector
its not mechanical
I took this photo earlier
its much more clean now
its a kb-6926
in the same shop i saw various things like old parallel printers, old monitors, etc
i didnt see any old keyboards other than that
i know they get lots of old stuff in so ill make sure to look out for other old keyboard when i go
i saw a 32 inch crt in there and a typewriter
What is this supposed to mean? Why is my “p” key on my keychron keyboard lit up in that green hue?
The piss key
i had to buy a ps/2 to AT female connector because i only have AT male to ps/2 adapters
i think i got that the wrong way around
im surprised none of my laptops have a AT connector
🙏
How do you tape mod a keyboard?
OK is a open box version of this https://redragonshop.com/products/brahma-k586-1?variant=44402908463326 for $30 worth getting ill add a $5 3 year square trade warranty
Oh and I have a 25% offf coupon
so guys, i recently purchased a G512 and saw this little guy here
im wondering what is for
one color might be dead on that RGB. My current keyboard has that issue so I'm looking at getting another one.
I've been watching a few keyboard videos lately and its a popular mod. You have to take out the pcb board and cover the bottom side with like 2 layers of electric tape
It fixed itself somehow, no idea what I did tho lol
That’s good to hear. I’m thinking of buying a keychron myself
Which keychron model would you guys get?
That's nice. Hopefully you don't pair it with a black mouse
My idea was to spray paint a mouse XD
Nice
I had varience in testing with shorting on a teensy. But I don't remember it being huge.
I wonder if the screen, and everything else they got going on is interfearing with testing.
why do all keyboards look alike now
you can only do so much to a rectangle
does anyone know some compatible replacement stabs for a Logitech gpro x
what are the “thockiest” switches?
what is "thock" to you
Topre so good
Keyboard: Heavy Grail (HHKB harvested from HHKB 25th Anniversary Edition)

not very comfortable though im guessing
i was considering a tin Macro pad after they brought it up on wan

Go for a monsgeek
M3 is a TKL south-facing aluminum barebone keyboard. TKL Tenkeyless keyboards come with 87 keys, a perfect layout without a number pad to balance size and functionality which helps give more desk space. Disclaimer: we do NOT sell domestic non-VIA/QMK version on global store. All M series wired models you see are international version exclusive.
Aluminum DIY kits are now more accessible than ever! Even at only 99$ it's still the best premium option to begin your custom mechanical keyboard journey with. It comes with extra teflon pads (in case you want to perform the Force Break mod) and tape (in case you want to perform a Tape mod). The M1 offers flexibility for you to modify it and mak...
if i got one like one of those ^^
can i just chuck switched in, keycaps on then i’m good to go?
or do i need to do other stuff. i’ve never built a keyboard before so very new to it
its not easy to pick a keyboard
i just saw the major flaw in this https://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Mechanical-Anti-Ghosting-Pre-Programmed-Passthrough/dp/B09DWCDL8X/ref=sr_1_6?crid=13O7FK4ZPHGQ9&keywords=rosewill+keyboard+mechanical&qid=1699652000&sprefix=rosewill+ke%2Caps%2C302&sr=8-6
[3:34 PM]
id need a set of new keycaps right out of the box
[3:34 PM]
wth was rosewill thinking
[3:35 PM]
those keycaps on the numpad would be worthless
its little things that can matter
i was just like ok ill do the rosewill then i saw that numpad
dont overthink it, at the end of the day, its just a keyboard
if i could find a new steelseries apex m300 gaming keyboard is grab it
been using the one that died since 2018
if i could rember were i put the box with the adapters id use my old model m that came with my xt
tons of boards like that

Anyone know if Keychron will have a black friday sale? was looking at getting the Q1
How much is I’ve
One
It’s right now at 170
And the drop sense 75 is on sale for $150 but the black one isn’t in stock
membrane or switch?
I have the Apex 3 TKL and its mechanical
not sure why it doesnt mention on amazon but double check on steelseries's site
realy doesnt look like it uses mechanical switches from photos
You can get a better custom keyboard for 50 bucks new if you look around
but ill have to order new keycaps for the numpad
I'm looking at replacing my steelseries
its cheap
i am ready to break this garbage hp thing with a hammer
it came this pc
i need a new keyboard and i cant decide between the Apex Pro TKL 2023 Ver. or the Razer Huntsman V2 TKL, is it better to have better latency, (Razer Huntsman) or have rapid trigger (Apex Pro) i play mostly CS2 and Fortnite
Is this a good keyboard i am going to be swapping the key caps and switches
Any good recommendations
Oh my, she tiny... wait... why is it so smol
FINALLY
for prebuilt keyboards should i get a keychron or something from higround
hi guys, i was looking for a mechanical keyboard for 50-100 euros from 75€ or tkl for programming and editing, do you know any recommendation?
keychron
What's a good gaming 60% blue switch keyboard under £50 uk
Do you think the keychron will go lower than this?
Hi, im looking for a brown switch keyboard under 100 euros but preferably as cheap as possible, any suggestions for good quality keyboards like this?
Hmm why brown switch?
I dont like the loud blue switches which I have right now, I thought brown would be good for gaming?
Oh I see. I saw that yellow switches are the quieter ones

yes buy it
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=5461 is this good for cheap?
Ducky makes good keyboards
i rlly dont know if i should get tactile or linear switches man
(gonna use it for gaming)
The Q series is metal so its price is quite high
But the V series is plastic so the price is lower :)
i'd prefer metal
Then go with the Q series :D
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=8712 is this a good keyboard with cherry mx red switches? Im gonna be using it for gaming
How big of a difference does the aluminum base make?
mostly in perceived premiumness
sounds different too cause an aluminum body reflect sounds different than a plastic body, but those are all subjectives
Thanks!
for a keyboard im going to be custom building what would you guys reccomend for specs
ok im flipping a coin between red dragon k586 or the pwnage keyboard https://www.makeuseof.com/redragon-k586-brahma-review-mechanical-keyboard/
funny a huge feature like hotswappable switches wasnt advertised on the red dragon
I have some amazon gift card balance remaining. What are some good switches/keycap brands on amazon canada?
If you want fancy caps, drop sells through amazon
kprepublic also carries keycap sets and switches, though mosto f that stuff ships from china
but you'll be able to purchase with your amazon store credit anyway
and there's all sorts of other dropshippers just shipping in cheap stuff from china
any brands in particular
Whats your guys fav Switches?
Got a l3 with the browns which is in transit, and thinking of ordering the Jupiter reds cause they Sound interesting and gatheron Blacks (cause i always wanted to try them, even if they only end up in my gamecon for rhythmgames)
Currently using mx silver, i like the gateron yellows in my gamecon a lot more (idk the feel mostly... Doesnt seem as unstable), alltho i like the fast actuation, but its just too Light for my taste, this is also why i was thinking of the kalith heavy speed pro Switches.
But id just like some reccomends or ideas from you guys.
But i see myself in having way too many different types to Switch around with
Skcm brown/topre 55g
Mx black
So current Switches i have in sight.
Gateron Black
Gateron Jupiter red
Kalith heavy speed pro
And i guess im done with mx if i see the price compared to f. E. Gateron and the difference
Alpacas, tried so many and I keep going back to them
Just the smoothness and the sound is incredible
I just finished ordering the parts for my keyboard and the total cost is 3333NTD
That includes all of the tools needed to do everything. Does not include transport.
does anyone else prefer older keyboards to new ones
My pcb has these batteries on it do I tape over these or not?
those cylinders look like capacitors
Uh sorry but what’s a capacitor
it stores energy, so it is somewhat similar to a battery, but it works a bit different and it has different pros and cons compared to batteries
Yea the whole pcb is safe to tape over
Considering its not aluminium tape or something you Plan on...
Capton tape, painters tape etc everything fine.
Tho why.
its a mouse!
technically
i like having numbers on mouse thumb
and i wanted to mess with altoids tins more
Not really keyboard but kinda is, I was wondering if having a numerical keypad beside my Gboard would be possible, it would make my life so much easier typing with a pen (It's on a fold 4 if that can help
Use a low tack tape
Like washi tape with an acrylic adhesive
Just got my set of cerakeys, feels thock-y
how tf do you get this deep into any electronics and not know basic components
I’m only 13 and it’s my first keyboard anyone can unscrew something
so true
To whoever was in here like last week looking for silent switches with no mush, Haimu silents don't use silicone and aren't mushy according to someone I know
I present to you: my new decade old keyboard
nice 6 key over there
where do u get that board with media keys on it
and how much is it because i need one
is that bad
not wireless yet, zmk isn't there yet
most people wouldn't mind it on an office mouse, for gaming it is kinda weird tho
ah
custom wireless mous pcbs are kinda kneecapped with pixart not providing sensors easily
ali has em
ah
something like a 3335, 3370 or 339x would be better
mostly using 60 bc it's explicitly supported by qmk
eh, they all work more or less the same
all of them are hard to get in low quanitities tho
which is why people more usually just gut g305s
i wanna try qmking a g600 maybe

i just needs the num
i should really just stop using 40% for games and have a num row but
they cute and have handles
Keyborb
weird how btw
since you mostly do digital horizontal cursor movements with physical arcs of your mouse you want your sensor to "point at" the point you do your arch around (typically your wrist/elbow) otherwise it will move slanted
would it be better lower but more horizontally centered?
very big preference thing
there is no correct answer, lower is typically not preferred
since it makes the horizontal sensitivity really low
blue would be a "normal/neutral" one
hmm, issues trying to get a decent usb position now
requiring a right angle cable isnt ideal
tweaked
the cable is a bit lower than id like but nothing a longer right angle cable wont fix
unless i can rotate the sensor without issue?
Silent THLACK
Sound profile: imagine walking down a wooden stairs that is lined with carpets
Shut.
But yeah. On desk, the keyboard will clack but with thock on the background
Clack + going down stairs on wooden, carpet lined stairs
where did you get the key caps
Shopee
It's fake Olivia anyway so it might be also the reason why it sound like that even with silent switches.
But again, I'm not complaining by a slightest.
i feel so damn slow with 70wpm qwq
I hope im at least over the bottom 10%
yea okay i dont feel as bad any more, tried blind mode in monkeytyper and just scored a 100% 73wpm, still slow, but im happy with full acc.
Can someone tell me what would have technically better sound quality? 96Khz 24bit or 192 khz 16bit?
Yeah, at that point its nigh indistinguishable quality
That’s not bottom 10%??? I get normally over 180+
bottom 10% of enthusiasts sure, but i doubt the average person could do more than 50 lol
Idk if id see myself as an Enthusiast, i basically only write via discord xD
Just tested mokeytype cause i have the cool keyboard now, and got that - so yea
Lol Google says professional writers between 65-70. Yea i doubt that.
Everything you can measure is a competition. Welcome to humanity.
i almost hit 10 the other day
Is that a good buy?
A keyboard which adapts to you. Any software, any language, any style.
More info at https://fluxkeyboard.com/
Prototype Shown.
hey guys
im looking to buy a keyboard, and im between logitech g pro tkl (tactile brown) and razer blackwidow v3 tkl (linear yellow). I want to use it for typing (since im a software developer) and gaming. Im in quite a pickle since I have not tried mechanical switches and dont have any stores in which i can try them out. Ill just have to order online and thats it
which one do u guys recommend
Get a Blackwidow v4 it’s hot swap and generally 100x better
the problem is the price, i found these two for around 80 bucks
Or the best option which is go custom
Get a rk61
Those go for around 60
If not get the logi one
They make full size of the same thing I just forget the name
No switch is “better for typing” everyone’s opinion is different like I perfer linears for trying while others perfer tactile
Love the idea but for a $450 price tag, I'll pass
Especially for a pre order too it really all depends on how it performs in the wild and what crazy stuff customers figure out they can do with the keyboard
Very interesting stuff though
I want to see what competitor versions and knock offs of this are gonna be like
i like brown switches the most overall while it is subjective tactile switches are not most responsive for gaming while linear switches can get mundane for typing for me this is why i like light tactile switches with actuation in the middle
you get right amount of feedback
i think i messed up yall
depends on your preference
get the keychron V1
I also found this keyboard
And it looks like a good deal
I’m on a budget of $80 and I’m curious on rather I should get a redragon k530 and put pink flamingos in it
Or get the epomaker skyloong gk75
Or if neither what should I get?
????
Trust me. It is not
whats wrong with it
its a razer. everything is wrong with it
lol
you can spent $80-90 on a keychron and get a way better experience.
i dont think i can afford that
how much is the razer?
cause iirc the RRP is a lot
I would buy a Keychron V1 prebuilt for around $80
That Razer keyboard is 60% off but it's showing as sold out to me
I just ordered it since it comes mid December, i can cancel if i change my mind
Out of my budget sadly
idk if sucktape was corect bt now it works
what’s the width of the tx stabilizers?
like 7mm on the durock v2’s for example
or 6.3~ on the C3’s
Would I ask here about mice too?
Sure ok
Any reccomendations for a nice pretty damn light medium-ish sized wireless mouse?
With good stock skates
you could try to get a Finalmouse UltralightX when the next drop of the medium size happens on November 27 at 2PM pacific standard time
Maybe a little bit cheaper? Max budget is like $120, would be nice for $100 tho
logitech g pro x superlight is available for $109usd on amazon USA right now
Damn
I like the MM731. Underrated imo
keyboard with mouse switches
Hey, I'm looking for a new keyboard, y'all got any recommendation for a 60-75% ?
Keyboard
Darmoshark m3
Attackshark X3
Lamzu mouse are quite good too but a bit more expensive
darmoshark m3/s
vgn dragonfly* f1 /
man im so tempted but ive heard evreryone complain about the stabs
Get the moba edition
the stabs are horrendous i can confirm
are they hard to replace?
no, but durocks aren’t compatible
because glorious is shit and used really small cutouts
so, you buy thier gsv2 stabs
the housing thickness of them is 6.1mm, durocks are 7mm
the width of the plate is around 6.5mm, depending on the batch
so, ain’t no way ur fitting durocks v2 in here
unless you get a good batch
mine came with 6.5-6.6mm
btw, the gliding experience on the darmoshark m3 is better
dragonfly has prob better suface coding
jus get m3s :kek
you don’t need such expensive mouse for pros
Too big for my liking according to shape comparator
The G305 I find it too big
the m3 non s is huge ikr
mmmm
Well a bit too long I guess
I was tempted to get the viper mini and orochi v2 just to try the shape
you have one by any chance?
it's been good sicne then?
but, well it barely made difference because the lubing job was so poor
nop, i was just curious
i see. i'm still waiting for the drop sense 75 black to be in stock. if its not bakc before black friday, might have to get this...
thats my main option right now
tbh i’d just get some keychron keyboard for start and replace the switches probs
maybe keycaps
but, they’re fine
I was looking at keychron but it looks a bit boring. i want some rgb. also ive been looking at this set. its not too expensive
replace the keycaps then
yeah i plan too
get some thicc keycaps
whats the diff between golden black mamba's and the huano ice berry pink dot
look for sound comparasion
i couldnt find it
well, both of them should be fine
pick whatever is cheaper
maybe a bit towards the huano’s?
ill just get the moba version then
Do you know any keycaps that are side printed and not cherry or oem profile?
Also that doesn't cost like hundreds of $$$
like XDA for example?
mmm prob check aliexpress
akko has some fine keycap sets for $30
i want to sell this keyboard. i don't like it. it's too chunky. the switches and sound feel off. how much can i sell it for? here are the specs:
keychron v1 ansi w/ knob
gateron blue lubed
stock stabilizers
pbt cherry profile keycaps
~$50 it’s still a keychron so widely available for $85 in store. and blues… are less popular.
why are blues less popular?
Clickies. hold up.
random discord preferences. as close to a scientific study as imma get.
i would still get more than that for it
or, well i mean i will take it off your hands for 15 lol, it would be great for a friend of mine
Is the deathstalker v2 pro tkl worth it for gaming and writing?
can someone recommend me a good rgb mechanical keyboard (with numpad) for max. price of 150€?
no and no
keychron V5
or custom keyboard
with ws mondari switches or ktt strawberry/ mint/ cabbage, tx stabs and some barebones kit with some pbt keycaps set
What's the quietest TKL mechanical keyboard I can buy? I'm working with $60
quietest?
overlube some silent switches
i mean stock
what are your criteria?
like tolerance for scratchy switches
whats scratchy
like when you feel the plastics of the switch scratch when you actuate the switch
and make scratchy sound
I planned out to get a K8 Pro with custom keycaps, is that also good?
whyyy
super overpriced
is there anything bad abt it besides the price?
V series are better if you don’t care about wireless
oh ok then ill check out the V series
abs keycaps, mid switches, razer software
ok can you recommend me a wireless gaming tkl keyboard that is also great for other uses?
budget?
under 200
mmm
something like cidoo 75
@turbid sigil
there is also barebone version
you can choose keycaps, switches
but, the prebuilt is fine
hey, im a bit stumped on the v5. does it only come with the keyboard plate and do you need to get your own switches, or is it prebuilt?
you can get barebones and prebuilt
is there a black version?
does this mean prebuilt? im assuming it does
nope
other epomaker boards should have black versions tho
akko boards r also fine
yes

is the SteelSeries Apex Pro a great keyboard or too expensive?
apex pro is the 2nd best gaming keyboard (behind wooting)
It’s best to just get a keyboard that sounds and feels good to your preferences, because 99% of people can’t tell the difference in a gaming board.
good and too expensive
do they have a wireless keyboard?
the apex pro is probs the best mayor branded keyboard
but, i’d not get it over custom keyboard
$220 for non hotswap keyboard is too much
wooting ain’t the best no way
it has some unique features and overall it’s very good but not the best
so what is the best
like most of $150+ custom keyboards
no custom activation point 😔
wow thats a dumb take if i've ever seen one
that custom actuation point and wrist strip won’t make it the best lol
and a metal custom along with a qmk pcb won't either
sounds wise it is fine but, not good for custom sector standart
unless you're telling me GMK gives me an instant reaction speed increase
sound matters more than flashy features
both don't matter for shit
I couldn't care less about sound
wooting offer full size hall effect cheaper than steelseries can
also have fun with its bloatware for the flashy shit
okay, then get rattly loose stabilizers and unlubed 15g switches
drunkdeer is the cheapest modern hall effect
because they’re the fastest
15g?
but the software is also made in china stamp all over
yum 15g
yup, 15g switches
still no
but obviously irl it doesn't really matter
gamers are silly
agreed
what do you refer as “best for gamers”
waste time breathing the keyboard sound copium instead
get your fact straight first
stock wooting is 60g bottom out, 40g start
they’re dumb so, if they think it’s the best for gaming they also feel like that
even their new lightest option is 30g start, 45g bottom
i value the hall effect sensing
sound matters for feedback
and they offer it full size cheaper than any other modern hall effect
I mean if you took the time to think about what objective metrics would affect the performance of a keyboard in the context of gaming
you would realise that wooting and other hall effect boards are objectively the best lol
actuation point, force required to actuate, bottom out, feedback, responsiveness
frankly buying a keyboard is like buying a car tbh
all this subjectivity and shit, once you bought a keyboard thats good, all the other "better" option is just nothing
good enough i should said
agreed
but yea, stock wooting switch aint your adhd spring rate
just like keyboard hobbyists huff the sound copium
so the only way that you can actuate with resting your finger is to push the actuation point right up at 0.1mm
gamers huff the response time copium
feature
well, gamer keyboard < custom keyboard
what do we miss, a metal top plate
feel?
and custom kbs are affordable rly
sure
not every ofc
then again hall effects and opticals are pretty damn smooth
im using a custom, and tbh, wooting gamer keyboard warrants the gaming marketing that they target
3 years ago we didn’t have KTT switches or akko switches nor wuque
asus' rx clicky is leagues ahead of most mx clickies
and their rx linear is also pretty damn good
i’ve had them it was fine but the actuation force was too little
i had the feeling of overshoot every time i press
their spring rate is more or less gateron yellow
asus rx stuff?
they know their market very well
asus rx red yes
yea thats on asus for this shit
doesn't really make it a bad switch though?
when it makes you accidental presses it could be
it comes down to person to person but for me it was pretty meh
What is sound copium
i’d be fine if wooting was like $140
but $200 range is bit too much
you are fine with the apex pro at 230 usd
and all thats difference is that teeny oled screen and no case edge that surround the plate?
210 sorry
i mean fine for today’s standart i didn’t say the apex was good for the price
fair
yes, wooting is better than apex but, still not the best
id take the wooting simply because they did the same thing for cheaper
also no steelseries bloatware bullshit
and web config if you really hate installing software for just your keyboard, which i do
at what is it the best?
what's the worst sound i can get in a board without clickies
also i huff layout cope tyvm
sound is bs
the only good sound is no sound
put some dirt into your switches
hyperbole btw
response time, rapid trigger, analog input, actuation point customisation?
all the kind of stuff gamers care about
not hobbyists
where’s feedback?
gamers meaning people who compete?
or wanna be pros
also, i doubt wooting has the fastest response out of all the optical switch keyboards out there
damn ig im not a gamer
I’ve always been able to compete with normal peripherals. Whether it’s headphones, a mouse, deskmat, etc
what does that have to do with it?
i categorise the wooting buyer market as sweaty fps gamers who need an extra dose of placebo
i could argue with clones
and sometimes actual pros
lol
I’d be interested to see if a “gamer” setup actually performs in a way that is measurable and noticeable
tbh actual pros also huffing the placebo copium real hard
its measurable, probs
like i just saw the whole mouse "hardcore" fucking pitchforking over optimum talking smack about polling rate
office mouse vs gaemin mouse
yeah
early to mid 2010s cs pros
played on the most random shit
yet we have some of the most iconic clips from that era
Not convinced by either of those titles lol
I just enjoy a lighter mouse
They all use what, Microsoft intellimousw?
tbf mice do make quite a large difference though
25g mouse
District Attorney
Tbh, gaming mouse the title does help you filter out some of many shitty spin out sensor
is PMW 3360 a good sensor?
if it’s flawless yes
ah, QA issues?
didnt you and pronin have a talk about that a few days ago
But once you get one that doesn't spin out or doing dumb shit, it just need to feel comfy in your hand imo
i dont remember which server that convo was in oops
it was here
yeah i figured after you asked lol
no
the sensor itself being flawless by the design
and sometimes the manufactuner can also implement the sensor with flaw so,
dude
stop pulling shit out your ass
I barely know shit about mice sensors and mcus and I can still tell you're spouting some bullshit
expect i’m not you tell me something to search and then you go “i barely know anything about sensors but i know ur spounting shit” tf
flawless sensor is such with low dpi deviation and to simplify it it means mostly that the sensor can handle rapid
/irregular movements
yeah thats how stupid that statement was
where even someone with minimal knowledge on the topic can tell it's bs
look what $3 gaming mices do when you move your cursor too quickly
search it up then
i never got feedback on the sensor location, would this feel fine?
or should i rotate it to get the extra cm or so
“ur spreading bs”
refuses to watch a video about flawless sensors
Tbf, both ends of the spectrum exists
E waste on one end, hype machine cash grab on the other
gaming mice companies exclusively use pixart afaik
haven't seen one that doesn't use pixart
watch one.
looks like variants of 3360 speciically are also popular in commercial mice, so probs fine ig
or were? until 3389 ig
man just go to the convo you had with pronin
man if you refer someone to as “spreading misinformation” then gather proof, not just blank statements and that you have instinct a’m spreading misinformation
you wanna know something funny? the 3360 board on tindie is really silly how it does things
wish there was a 3360 breakout board available that wasnt silly that way
obligatory ploopy headphones are dogshit 🫡
looking to spend £50 ($60) to £60 ($75ish) on a wireless keyboard but need some suggestions please, not fussed about whether its RGB but must be UK ISO layout, any suggestions?
buying from the UK
Anyone has any recommendations for a good keyboard? My apex 7 is starting to fall apart just after warranty ended and if it gets any worse I might have to buy a new one.
Channel demoted to niche?
Is the rk61 decent? I currently use a razer hunstman elite tkl
Keychron C3 Pro hasn't been mentioned much anywhere; is it decent for someone who doesn't need metal base or switch swaps? Hard to find info on this thing.
it's alright
or like i've used a keyboard with the exact same board and switches but different branding
I think that for the price it can't be bad
Still I would probably go up to a keychron V
But for 37$ you will have a lot for your money
I'd love a budget keyboard with pre-lubed linear switches, a thocky sound, 60% and like a pastel colour or white.
is it me or would those media keys get in the way
Yes and it’s ugly asf
Why can’t they be normal and put them in the top right where there is room
Then if there is no more room for buttons put them above the arrow keys
Lol the thought of getting a almost 100% keyboard never came across my mind but I had to use a coupon at MicroCenter so I did just that
Loving the Q12 so far
southpaw :o
just need to tune the stabs
space bar is extra harsh and so is the left shift and enter
V1 compared to it. Buddy is chonky and a literal weapon now
no handle/10
could always make one
debating if I should transplant the AKKO Matcha Greens from my V1 into the Q12 maybe
enough excluding the numpad
Is there no mouses channel?
Nope
I'd correct you and say it is "mice" but for the computer peripheral "mouses" is also a correct olural form
that’s weird layout, pretty sure it’s not 100% tho
not even almost?
96%
gotta reflash the firmware on it so that'll be fun
done it twice on my keychron v1 so I can do it again
probs not even that, it seems like 98%
tho, that’s not a thing
what layout is that tf
why’s the numpad on the other side and also
Southpaw
prefer left numpad over right for more mouse space
The fully assembled version includes: The keyboard PCB, the case, and the steel plate. Double-shot OSA PBT keycaps (including Mac & Windows keycaps). Gateron G Pro switches. The barebone version does not include the keycaps and switches. No discount codes can be used for Q12. Please drop your email on "Notify Me Whe
I just need more switches to cover this keyboard but that is fine
i mean good switches are $0.4 nowadays… which switches are you using?
how much per?
idk lol I got them a while back
yea saving money atm so no new switches or keycaps for the time being
they are basicly top notch switches without the high price
mmmm
That looks awesome and cheap, especially considering the good build quality. Btw, what are the advantages of a left numpad?
preference, gives you a bit more mouse space
I personally would just go for a detached numpad but
also it's not flipped which is kinda stupid
Fair enough
I'm just so used to the one on the right
Maybe some day I'll get used to left side num pad
It's just a bit difficult after years of experience utilizing the right hand for numeric entry
Funny thing is that is what I ran before
Keychron V1 and external but I just wanted a reason to use up 3 coupons I had for microcenter lol
also left hand dominant hehe
Cuz preference?
cheap?
Cabbages are crap too 🤫
mints r good
a bit more poppy mints
owg i’ve messed up ktt roses with red wines

Money put into camera gear
