yeah on amazon but you will have to mod them to sound good

I’ve done modding before but only for others’ keyboards
Decided I wanted one too
alright ill check it out thanks!
Hi I am having some keyboard issues. VIA isn't able to detect my Monsgeek M1. Uh not sure what to install? I installed QMK and whatever firmwares it needed
#1027757333117415424 Would probably be the best place to put this
i haven't had much good luck with that channel. nobody responds to my issues 😭😭
Well I dont have much of an idea of what to do apart from reinstall the firmware and any other stuff that you have installed related to it. Maybe try run it as administrator
would you know how I could reinstall the firmwares i installed 😭😭 i was told this would be pretty much plug and play tbh
Are you talking about VIA?
I installed QMK firmwares
Just search for it in windows search. Right click it and press uninstall. Then reinstall it
To be honest, I can't even like flash firmware onto my keyboard. I am using QMK toolbox and trying to get my keyboard into the flashing thing #
it doesn't work at all
supposedly this is meant to become clickable but doesn't do anything #
yeah I am going to keep using google and figure something out
This is already out of my knowledge. You probabbly know more than me
thanks for the help tho Gummy, I appreciate you (:
contact monsgeek support ... they will probably be able to help you
All good
You cannot
WHere did you buy it ?
There is a version of each monsgeek board that doesnt have QMK
I have a chinese version of the m3 and it doesnt have qmk
nor VIA
Yeah I have the domestic one
I THINK that switches should be like the main term for which we shall divide how keyboards actuate: Membrane switches, Mech-Brane switches and Mechanical switches.
Fellow 100% here I like it
any recomendations for a cheapish gaming keyboard
how cheap?
is that mechanical?
yes
No
Spoiler for nsfw
wait how it has detachable usbc im shocked
its 80%
go 6%
is the apex pro tkl stilla good keyboard or did it fall off
its never been good
where is the van diagram for keyboard hipsters and gamers
it was one of the best competivite gaming keyboards
but did it "thocc"?
competitive mean shit
im not loooking for what ever sounds the best
id rather blue switches
straight to jail
so i should buy the shittest quality keyboard but make it sound good?
dont they sell in batches
like small quantity at a time
and its only 60 and full size
nah they dont have one
is what you would like?
there were already keyboards that do the same thing as it does, only its got more marketing terms
with shitter short travel switches
i think any board from one of major brands will be about the same
yeah i was just looking at the apex pro cause i know the low actuation is good and its readily available
the have gaming based models now
i think those are great
lemkey or somethingf
anit that the truth
gaming based keyboards since when
i cant belive it
lets assume i need a new keyboard what is a good cheaper one
realforce

are they better than my orginal ibm model m that came with my old xt
to pricey
ok
Just DIY it
Anyone got suggestions on a good budget wireless 60/65% hotswap keyboard?
Bought Gaston G Pro 3.0 black key switches from the Keychron booth at PAX Aus. AUD$39 for 110.
Want to put them in a board for work
Hhkb
A local seller of mine sold an ALL BLACK, non-transparent MK870
Should I cop it instead of GMK67?
Not the transparent black. ALL BLACK.
just to be sure before getting a m1, m1w has no via/qmk suport right?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vib77CUxNM lol what is google doing

i can move my cursor with it

weird it didnt like my email address for some reason
has anyone had an issue with phantom typing using the apex pro tkl 2023 edition? because mine just randomly started to type the keys: b, h, 6 by itself
Damn u right
rate my keyboard :)
Honestly that's probably the future
They gonna look at keyboard users the way laptop users look at people with desktops
capacitive
I just found a model M keyboard excellent condition in the woods for $20, gonna clean this up, but it doesn't have a cable to plug in. Any suggestions on a model M cable that won't break the bank ? Is there a converter?
It was a user of paraphanelia (had to change this due to bot) who had an LS400 and a couple Honda civics in upstate NY.
I made him an offer for the LS400 but he refused to sell it, it was pretty good condition. That's a lexus. But yeah now I am looking forward to cleaning this up and buying a cable to see if it types. Idk if it's cursed tho that would be a bummer
hmm, but actually, might be some qmk converter you could probably add to make it take a cable? if you wanted to kill those two birds with one basket
so like yeah, this thing right here?
The problem is I need the whole wire lol
but they're liek $30 on ebay
you guys still use keyboards lmao
get on with the times gramps
everyone uses brain computer interfaces now
i meant more along the lines of the protocol converters
dunno if its a thing for that exact board

looks good, thanks guys
does gmmk's software work? im trying to change some keys around and the program just tells me they cant find the keyboard
Hows keychron low profile keyboards for gaming? I also really dont need to use the wireless
Welcome
Don’t question my weird setup
Nice
This is my daily driver for typing and gaming.
- MMD KEYBOARD
- PBT KEYCAPS (they are yellow and blue in colour. The white are the original keycaps)
- Holy Panda V2 switches
does anyone have recoemendations for a tenkeyless? i was thinking about gmmk
but 80 dollar range for a keyboard
womier k87?
standard layout right? planning on using crystal clear keycaps
i've used it before...it was nice to use but the holes for the switch pin to go into seems kinda tight tbh so it makes it harder to pull out. But overall it was a great keyboard
yea standard
you can look it up too
wow iv had my keycaps for 2 years now
haha

Got this keyboard yesterday for 40 but forgot I use my arrow keys a lot 😭
damn
GMMK usually floats around 80 on amazon. Was at that last last week actually
Still at 80 even on there website! But thinking maybe there is somthing better out there?
Idk this is the best typing expernice iv had on a keyboard
is the Keychron V3 good or are there better keyboards below $120. I am a programmer that also games fairly often and wanted a second opinion as I play some timing based games so I wanted to know if the latency makes a big difference with its 10.9 ms latency vs gaming keyboards with 1-4 ms.
First batch sold out! Click on 'Notify me if Available' and get updated when we have the second batch (About 2 weeks later). Black and white will be shipped within 14 days. Purple shipping in 7 days. Alternatively, you can join our Discord to be updated. $59 = Aluminum, Gasket, Groved PCB, Knob, Stabs, Foams, PC Plate
IS THAT A VOLUME CONTROL!??!?!?!??!?!?!
biggest issue for me is it doesnt come with switchs
Just got my second keyboard, one to tinker with. Epomaker th66 Pro, thinking of lubing all switches (gateron Pro 2 red from memory) and put some electric tape on back of board 😁😁
I hate coiled cables
My Drop Shift v2 just got here if someone wants a basic sound test
Got it with the new Massdrop Holy Panda switches
Looking to upgrade to an analog keyboard this or next year for fps gaming, so far I only know razer huntsman v2, steelseries apex pro, and wooting. Are there any other analog keyboard? or any brand announcing/releasing analog keyboard in the near future?
I didn’t realize how terrible the stabs are in a Corsair keyboard lmao
Tbh it’s kinda overrated
Only game that really benefits is racing games
And honestly for those it’s better to get an Xbox Gamepass
what's that round connector called
Yc8
As hardware Bob said before, it is indeed a YC8 connector
YC8
sorry my phone died
idk i def hit send before it rebooted
Also something I just noticed
On Drop’s new v2 keyboards the prices are the same for either switch choice
Even tho one of the options costs A LOT more if you buy them on their own
Gateron yellows at 0.30 a switch
Whereas the Gateron Holy Pandas are $1

who needs a nav cluster anyways
If it had a standard space bar maybe
6u
So you can use standard keycaps
Is standard 6.25?
How are you guys designing those?
usually my flow is http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/, then kicad
Keychron C3 Pro (reds) going to be an okay option if I don't care about hot-swap or metal body?
Seems to be the no frills, super economy version of a QMK Keychron but I'm concerned it might be cheap crap.
Anti-100%/non-Spanish jumpscare
?
What's usually the "keyboard enthusiast" gripe? The numpad
What scares mostly English native speakers? The Ñ
Also, this is what I would like to have in a Wooting Two HE (although the white characters are transparent)
Now THIS is a better image
You’re trying too hard to impress people who don’t care dude
What’s a good white tkl keyboard that isn’t absolutely awful
do mech keyboards reduce wpm? generally key-key distance longer so cant you technicallt type much faster on laptop keyboards
so mech is just for satisfaction and convenience, preferance becasue it feels good is that right
Please help me, Which has the same keyboard layout as us in Sweden. UK or US? Someone has told me the answer but ive forgot it.
The reason i want to know is so i can swap the laptop keyboard. Either US or UK had the same number of keys as the SE/Nordic one.
Is the SE/Nordic layout based on ISO or ANSI?
Think I can make it fit? Lol
I made it fit. Ground down the ridges around the old battery and removed 2 of the center supports
100% working so far
what are some mods you suggest on keychron v1
Idk mine is a K1 lol
guys https://hkgaming.com is this link the right software for gk61 hi gaming
What people's thoughts on Xtrfy K4? It's my current keyboard
hi there
I know nothing about keyboard and would like to learn what are the important details to note if I want to look for a keyboard
also, if you got a recommendation for a gaming keyboard (QWERTY, don't care for RGB, numpad not necessary, 120-170£ price bracket) would be much appreciated
noted thanks, will check them out
by steel series i mean pro
k
How do I lube the space bar stabs on my keychron v3
simple
apply generous amounts of lube
boom
it's done
keyboard lubed

wow they copied hhkb
Built this
i download the software is it safe
why do you need software for peripherals
idk i never used software for keyboards
hhkb, realforce, logitech have it in the literal keyboard to turn off the lighting
cherry keyboards too have a macro to turn off lighting
I need help, and this group of peoples are my preferred.
I am trying to find a macropad that doesn't suck.
My ideal is an eight key that doesn't need any installed software. (I don't have rights on my work computer.)
And the macros are set in a .txt that lives on the device.
Does such a thing exist? Am I chasing the end of the rainbow?
Speaking of rainbows... Side tangent, I don't care for RGB. I find it distracting, and paying for the R&D/hardware for something I will forcibly remove if I have to rubs me the wrong way. The number of options that are flooded with rainbow vomit is depressing.
why you can customize accuation for a lot of them
and u need to update them
wait what, you update keyboards now?
you can use a IBM model m keyboard from 1980 today, and it works the same
do u game?
i do yes
you update so you can get features like rapid trigger for some keybaords
or lower the activation point
i have it on mine
without software
loook
they add new functions
to the keyboard
here dowload the osftware for it
why
its for this version https://www.realforce.co.jp/en/products/X1UD11/
it just has rgb thats it
what do u have
i have this @tight loom
well i never used software, don't need any, its just bloatware
no its not
bloatware is apps that are not neccesary to what your doing(it doesnt include software for your products)
your keyboard is neccesary to use
yes, thats what keyboard updates are
never "updated" since purchased, works fine
its just bloat
its not but ok
its unnecessary bloatware
your on linux?
both
why are you protecting keyboard software updates so much
share your vision on taekeyboards forum, please
do u game alot>?
you keep repeating yourself
keyboard software updates are bloat, lets see what others say
ok
you can't update hardware with a download from internet
omg
nah
you download the software
they send updates to the software
the software updatea your firmware
its bloatware
ask anyone
It's bloatware.
help me out guys
exactly, why do you need assisting software for a keyboard, as much as i see if oem's launch software for keyboards, its mostly macro launchers or keyloggers
so you get more feautures and cutomization
I can see the firmware update game on a genuinely DIY handmade one.
But one you buy off the shelf.
No.
all the "more features" you can enable via windows
its just a keyboard
It's a KEYBOARD! Not a party light!
like cusotimize accuation>
?
can you do that?
oh buts its in the software?
i have a realforce keyboard with topre switches, i can switch out the keycaps with pbt ones etc
so yes that is keyboard customisation
nothing to do with software
yall dont know anything about softwares im out
i found a ebay listing of a guy who puts pbt caps on a slim keyboard
this is the original
this ?
Correct.
plastic keyboard touch buttons thingies
something like this?
you could build your own (you purchase all the components but just have to assemble it together)
https://github.com/doodboard/tutorial/blob/main/README.md
there are plenty of custom macro projets
The building I can do.
That's the easy part.
Hardware is easy. Software is beyond me.
I'm has teh dumb when it comes to programming.
But I will inquire.
or use autohotkey for a custom keypress like win+shift+O+E to open your preset in a program
ahk is really awesome
no programming needed
I'd don't have a hotblower blower anymore. So as long as nothing is BGA I should be good.
AHK isn't an option.
I can't even install the Logitech Nano Receiver software.
There are two in the computer because 'Systems' can't be bothered.
MAX Falcon-20 RGB custom programmable mini 20-key keyboard/keypad/Macropad. Each key allows you to reprogram and use it as a numeric keypad or even dedicated shortcut keys.
this looks an option
Three when I'm their because I abhor their mouse.
I love the design of this one from them, but it was outmoded. And the new one seems to require software to change the macros.
https://www.maxkeyboard.com/max-falcon-8-custom-programmable-mini-macropad-mechanical-keyboard-assembled.html
MAX FALCON-8 programmable 8-key mini mechanical keyboard/keypad/macropad.
Each key allows you to reprogram and use it as a media pad, OSU! rhythm game keyboard or even dedicated shortcut keys.
The ANAVI Macro Pad 8 looks promising.
But Micro USB? Really? 🤮
Also: I have no need for an encoder.
I am giving up for now.
In theory, it should be easy.
But no one seems to make one.
What I see the device doing is reading the .txt file (that is written in similar format the .AHK when powered on.
Perhaps it's time to finally learn how to program.
never been so disappointed in a fellow realforce user 🤦♂️
got all these off but this ones not coming off idk why using the same screwdriver
ye
no
What about a fine file?
was that
Or fine tooth saw?
no
grr
What you want to do is add the slot to let you use a flat screwdriver.
The stupid thin cutoff dremel disks are excellent for that, when you have the access.
ight
You just have to make sure you protect the rest or the board.
Blu-tack is really good for that.
The cutoff disks are very very fragile. So handle with care.
okk
Basically, file a slot into the screw with the cutoff disks.
Alternately, you try a screw extractor. And/or carefully drilling off the head.
As a last ditch effort, pound a stupid thin flat head screwdriver into the screw.
But that is exceedingly not recommended with electronics.
dad strength on top
do you need to foam mode your keychron or does it already have it foam modded
@minor tundra
Yes you should dump cement into your keyboard
what mods do you suggest for the keychron v1 besides the tape mod?
Cement
BRO WHAT THE HECKINGTON
Man, the D key on my laptop's keyboard is dying on me for no apparent reason and it's quite annoying
I have absolutely no idea why it decided to die, I barely use it since I have a "desktop" setup with a USB keyboard
is the higround skystone good cause i have it and i wanna see other people thoughts
Likely dirt or corrosion
Somrthing happened to a laptop of mine a while ago, where a whole section of the right side went dead, and all the number keys decided to go nuts. Never spilled anything and was pretty clean around it, but the problem persisted accross to a replaced keyboard, sk must be a corroded cable or the like (or they never actually replaced the keyboard, just the cover)
My E key started doing the same thing.
Turned out to be the first symptom of a puffing battery.
What’s everyone’s favourite budget barebones 67% kits ?
I can't figure for the life of me why would there be dirt or corrosion, I probably exaggerate far more than most enthusiasts in terms of cleanliness
Plus, the push button is covered by a layer of silicon and it isn't punctured or anything
My D key couldn't be farther from the battery than it is and the battery isn't deformed anyway, I opened it recently, it was in its original intended shape
Ziggurat
Bruh
No it's a custom, was a 30 unit "r0" run
There should be an r1 run pretty soon
how the f do retainer clips work
I took off ctrl and fn in laptop and both have different retainers
and they dont fit anymore
Looking to replace my ducky shine 5 with something newer. Looking for something with a similar build quality, with the following features: full size w/ keypad, removable usbc, usb passthrough, rgb, floating keys/no bezel
budget: would like to keep it under $200, but can bump it a up a bit if i'm really impressed
also would prefer blue switches
i've been using reds the past few years but I really miss blues
lol thats going to limit you to like 2 boards 😄
right now the biggest contender is a k70
i have a k95 collecting dust because i didn't like the feel of it
k95 with browns
Full sized keyboards are so lacking in options
dont forget if you like shine thru keycaps you either need north facing LEDs or keycaps that have southern legends
oh yeah the keycaps that come with the board don't matter to me
like i have the hyperx puddings on the ducky i posted
I need a new mouse and i got these options, i dont know which to pick, my last mouse was a razer basilisk v2
-Razer basilisk v3
-Razer cobra
-Razer Viper 8k
Depends on the use, what kind of use are you going to give this new mouse of yours?
If you want speed, you should go with the 8K
i made some more research and found the deathadder v3 but my main question is about the sensor, is it going to give me stutters on 8khz?
and also i was going to buy a mouse because my mouse feet are rippin and i didnt found the exact same feet for my mouse on a cheap price
but can i put razer basilisk ultimate's mouse feet on my razer basilisk v2?
Au contraire, it's actually the higher the hz, the smoother and precise
Questionable, let me check
Unfortunately nope, they're both different feet
If you want to look for mouse feet I'll look closely
https://www.itaktech.com/products/esports-tiger-razer-basilisk-v3-pro-ice-mouse-feet?_pos=3&_sid=7e208bade&_ss=r
https://www.itaktech.com/products/esports-tiger-razer-basilisk-v3-pro-ice-mouse-feet?_pos=3&_sid=7e208bade&_ss=r
and can i put any of these?
because the sizes are the same
mouse size i meann
Nope, but I found actual replacements: https://www.amazon.com/Mouse-Skatez-Razer-Basilisk-Black/dp/B095VV1CHR?th=1
1 pack contains 2 sets of Skatez. Corepad Skatez consists of 100% pure quality PTFE. Corepad Skatez use high-quality 3M adhesive."You can be sure that Corepad makes no compromises when material is selected and you always get the best quality with Corepad Skatez." Thickness: 0.75mm
where do you live actually? Because there are sites that sell more but are in other countries
it has 1 three star review
i was going to buy these but shipping for mexico is 50$
Yeah, ignore that listing, but I showed you more
Ahhh mejicano ¿no?
yessir
A ver que milagros este argentino hace
JAJAJAJ
Es eso o algo más cercano?
si esto lo marca bien
gracias broski
So I got a royal kludge rk61 60% and think I want to mod it. Looking for some black keycaps in the range of 20-40 dollars but I'm not sure what to do about the RGB backlighting
just look up wob keycaps on amazon or your local vendor, cheap wob sets are everywhere. u can turn off the backlighting but with wob keycaps it wont shine through the legend
Hi, if i want to buy an artisan raiden mousepad, should I be concered about inhaling fiberglass from it?
What about the key caps that have a double function like my arrow keys
so I have the Zeb Transformer atm, is this what all mech keyboards are like? or just the cheaper ones? cuz I feel the keys r really mushy... and i find the switches a little heavy... I need to put in a lot of force to type on this thing...
because its membrain.......
where? i didnt see anything saying mechanical
Oof... There's like one review which says that
Well it's not hotswap and you can't remove the keys
Damn
I got scammed
What do you want in a keyboard?
What do you like about your current one, what do you dislike about it. Be detailed.
I'd want longevity and rgb, current one had those, and there wasn't really anything too bad about it but i dont know much abt keyboards so
You into macros, binds stuff like that
Are you computer literate? Do you find yourself watching task manager to see how much resources your software uses a lot? Do you want a “set it and forget it” kinda software
not really, i am decently pc literate, and i'd probably want a set it and forget it
helo
which keyboard is better
https://jamesdonkeylab.com/products/jamesdonkey-rs2-3-0-mechanical-keyboard
or
https://keydous.store/products/keydous-nj98-keyboard?gclid=CjwKCAjw7c2pBhAZEiwA88pOF_ssPSw-WY33nFHSwbQUJjdAtwiI5CVKIRFCB59cFRdumAj83CmJABoC1jsQAvD_BwE
Prefer the looks of NJ98 but I am not sure which is better (dont really care about the gasket)
Get it here Features:- >Shockproof Gasket Pro Design. >Multi-function Display Screen. >Customised 99-key layout. >Dual-Tone FR4 Glass Fiber Positioning Plate. >Versatile Three-Mode Connectivity. >Multimedia Volume knob. >Full-Key Hot-swappable Sockets. >Full-key conflict-free operation. >Dua
OEM height esc artisan and cherry height 'for the rest' should be compatible no?
I know, but will it interfere with the sides?
Is the razer huntsman v2 tkl a good keyboard for esports?
Guys good keyboard for gaming and long hour typing around 500-600 SEK (around 50 USD) which hopefully sounds decent? I need function keys at least if numpad isn't possible ... Hopefully tkl..?
I need it for schoolwork and gaming... So hopefully something that's not very heavy switches and I can quickly type on it...
Im hoping for something with a decent polling rate too... Too much?
No one?
Wireless eyboard for gaming and schoolwork for around 500-600 SEK with a low latency and decent polling rate, good sound appreciated, a lil light switches too cuz long typing, tkl
Summarized
Get something with browns so you can type better.
Does it need to be silent?
tactiles won't make someone type "better"
Which model?
Model suggestions?
Prebuilt hopefully
buy reds pls
model name?
budget ?
can i plug in 2 ps/2 keyboards into one pc
500-600 SEK (around 50 USD)
rk61
thats a 60%... anything a lil bigger? i need seperate function keys at least if no numpad
hopefully tkl?
hopefully
lil lesser is fine
but seperate function keys from number row please
i need that
yes
i see it for
61usd
on aliexpress
with red switches
or this
Machenike K500A-B84
and its hotswap
Any thoughts on the razer deathadder v3?
For what ive seen its one of the best mice on market
But theres another hyperx pulsfire thats gonna come out and some other good mice
So should i wait till those come out?
its not the best mouse on the market
thats subjective
i like the deathadder elite but switched to a g pro superlight x
and you get easily used to the light mice
deathadder v3 is like really good
probably the best mouse in that price range
how?
anyone have any tips on letters being easily double typed?
my keyboard is using Glorious Lynx Linear switches (pre-lubed ones)
not sure my keyboard used to do that, but often happens now, especially with the space key
I need a keyboard recommendation…I prefer silent/not loud mechanical keyboards focused for gaming
Any recommendations? Currently looking at the apex 7 tkl
ik but im scared that in 2 months its gonna be a little bit worse than thse new mice thats gonna come out
also between apex pro tkl (og) or razer huntsman v2 tkl which one should i buy? huntsman has 8k pollin rate too and optical switches are supposed to be faster than magnetic
if you have a budget of 250 you can probably afford to build out exactly the kind of board you want. Buy a barebones kit, mod it to whatever extent you want, find a sample pack of switches if you arent sure what you want or research the options for your preferred type, and then slap whatever keycap set looks good to you on top. You'll get much better results than the vast majority of prebuild g a m e r boards
Yup going red 100%
how can i clean my keyboard keys that arent working?
i already tried with isopropyl alcohol'
I'm trying to find a good keyboard switch for tactile typing for perferably under fifty dollars for 96 or more switches, any recconendations?
Hello, any recommendations for a skyblue colored barebones kit? TKL or 75.
check yunzii or epomaker
check ktt
or kprepublic switches
switches?
quick question, but anyone know of a good set of shine true numeral keys, i can pretty confidantly blind type, but special characters behind numerals etc i still need to look down for so id like to see the sub logo's glow true as well, as im noticing that on my current ones they arn't and its pretty annoing not being able to see em well
depends, it could be corrosion or gunk inside the switch in which case you need to open it and clean in it, tho your stabilisers can get gunked up too so do check there
I'm thinking of upgrading my gateron g pro 3 reds with smth else
Any recommendations? I'm down to try out new switches unless they're too heavy or too slow
is there a keycap like this but lights can go through the letters? Recommend me one
If you want something silent, get a custom keyboard

there will never be a perfect time to buy a new mouse
do you have any preferences?
I prefer something with a soft feeling since sounds dont matter much for me (i use a iem so cant hear anything from outside) im really intrigued on getting something like the akko creamy yellow, my friend got it and it felt good so something like that would be great
Glorious panda feels great too tho so im confused
Realforce
Just make a mold of those key caps and pour your preferred see through material into the molds and paint them with tape to cover the spots you want to remain see through.
wtf
It works though.
You can definitely paint things with tape 🫡
Tape to cover
Wym acrylic paints and enamel paints are really good for this?
you can even use spray paint
make sure to use a primer with acrylic paints though
otherwise it will be shit
seal that with a clear coat too
Enamels and lacquer probably won’t be very skin safe
thats what i said
very
Just because you can do it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea
but if you want something that doesn't exist you better have the time to make it happen
Or just don’t be stupid and realise it’s not worth the time 🤷♂️

also aren't enamel paints really popular for artisan keycaps?
The whole point of custom keycaps that aren't premade is have a shit ton of money to pay someone to do the tedious work or do it yourself and waste your time.
either is a waste of time because it takes time to get the money as well.
dont know dont care, even if it was artisans are far easier to make once you have a mold than making legends using masking tape and paint LOL
anyone who has ever done masking with plastic models would know what you're saying is dumb as fuck
if we go down that rabbit hole taking apart your keyboard to put different switches and better foam is also a waste of time
not even remotely comparable LOL
Why not? both are done to get the desired result that you want by consuming time and or money. This is a hobby. 🤷
what you are suggesting is ridiculously time consuming
I'm starting to think you don't understand how long creating legends for an entire keyset using masking tape would take
Yes but it's their only recourse if they cannot get those exact keycaps premade???? my whole point is if they want to take the time to do it good for them, if not it doesn't matter?
maybe apply some common sense and realise that not even the most hard core of keyboard hobbyists would bother doing something like that
much less some random dude
probably like 16 hours of nonstop work if you are fast.
who probably doesn't really care
NO LOL
unless you just have no fucking standards then sure i guess
just for the painting not the rest of the stuff like researching what materials you want and a paint that will work with it.
sure lets go with that.
Just thought about how to center the legend to each keycap and realized what you meant about low standards when I gave that time frame since you would have to copy the other keycaps in that persons example screenshot rather than freehand it and make your own legend.
Ok yeah that method was def a dumbass suggestion.
Not like I put much thought into it anyways since i didn't care that much and haven't tried it myself to find all the ways it would piss me off.
critical thinking is a rare skill nowadays
My bad, I missed the one important part about this entire thing.
Sleep is important.
I have yet to see someone reply to them in the multiple times they have posted this and decided to give them a solution regardless of how time consuming.
dumb question, what’s this that came with my switch films
there’s only one set of these
key grips?
stab pads probably
i thought they looked like bandaids lol
which is what is currently in my board already
Yes
Hey what's your opinion on salmon switches, I just ordered them from kinetic labs
Hello everyone!
I have a question for those of you who use razer mouses
I am considering buying a Razer Naga
mostly because of the macros
am I want something that I can take with me, plug into another computer, and have all my macros available
another computer without any razer software
will it work?
basically no mouse saves macros onboard
I just started up my pc, opened obs, and randomly my keyboard starts tripping. It doesnt work anymore (except the lights, but it doesnt type anything). So the lights turn off and then the arrow facing right flashes right a few times and then the lights turns on again.
Ive never had this before, i have a steelseried apex pro (100%). I have had it for about 3 years and it never stopped working.
I opened steelseries gg, and it said critical update, so i did that and nothing changed.
So i found what it was, it was because my guitar amp was connected to the pc, but ive done that before and it never did anything.
And apparently it also only happens when i start obs and my amp is connected, this ive also done before and it never happenend.
Are HaluHalo V2 switches any good?
k65 mini or huntsman mini?
im pretty much down to those two for options and can get 20% off on both
Anyone know any good 60% keyboards that are Fast and quite with strong rgb (preferred with application control if not its fine)
Wooting 60he
Affordable too 😭
whats your budegt?
whats your budget
yall know any good mechanical keyboards possibly under or 20$
mechanical and under 20$
I guess just search by price on amazon or something
Are those magnetic keyboards good lol?
rapid trigger is alright
also good if you need an objectively fast keyboard to cope
otherwise its whatever
$60
Hey guys, cleaning my keyboard. Putting it back together and I wiped off whatever was on the contact due to crud getting stuck to it. What do I put on the keyboard contacts to protect them from wear and tear?
can someone recommend me a 75% (65% ok too) pcb or a set even that's got 1.5u ctrl key (5.25u spacebar) preferably black pcb + solder no hotswap and wireless no budget
honestly i'm also fine with taking a part a full keyboard for the project, i just need 1.5u ctrl and it needs to accept GX brown.
i know like jack shit about keebs so gonna need some help here.
i call upon the nerds who are more keyboard nerdy than me
i have one of these: https://sharktastica.co.uk/kb?id=7431724
P/N 7431724: Toshiba ANPOS Keyboard w/ Card Reader, FRU 7431725, Model M9, first seen/released 2014.
and have been wanting to make it support USB
i recently found https://www.store.level1techs.com/products/p/mstar-classic-model-m-controller-conversion-kit-rkfc5-d7a89
This is a true DIY board for those with an old IBM Model M. This DIY kit modernizes old model M keyboards and gives your keyboard re-programmable QMK firmware based on the STM32 micro controller. More information can be found at the m-star project on gitlab: https://gitlab.com/esr/m-star/-/tre
does anyone have better/more complete internal photos than are included in that first link so i can identify what headers I need to order with it?
what keycap patterns look good on a black tkl frame
is the keychron v6 good
why
Trash latency
If you are using it in the office then get whatever but if you ever game just do yourself a favor
no
gaming gear is like 1-2ms
Keychron is like 13-24
Depending on models havent checked in a while
Q7 is 10ms
oh so what full sized keyboard should i get instead
150 aud (100usd) and gaming and general use ig
Any logitech
razor is half decent in terms of latency but i hate their firmware and switches
Hyper x also decent
for logitech my only option according to pcpp is the k845
alloy origins for hyperx
no razor optiomns
Choose A Keyboard
Use rtings website for keyboard recommendations
At least they do latency testing
So you can see all the specs
If moneys no problem get a wooting
Has the best firmware and indestructible analog switches
too expensive
Evga z15 ive used and its half decent
4000hz polling rate compared to 1000hz standard on all gaming gear
And the switches are hot swappable
50 bucks too now
Has good value for what it is
I would just replace the keycaps and maybe switches since speed silvers are too sensitive for most people typing
Kailh box whites or pinks + cheap pbt keycap set
Will have a fast gaming keyboard
180$
Check evga website or other vendors
i did
this is the cheapest with no shipping
cheapest with shipping is 180
i also found the logitech g613
At that point get whatevers at your local bestbuy or tech store
its 99$
we dont have bestbuy in australia
this should qualify for free international shipping since it's over $49
Micro center
us onyl
yep it does
is the logitech g613 any good
nevermind, had the wrong address set, it does not
I guess g613 is “ok” but it has a cheaper plastic frame + no RGB
Also latency is mediocre
good no rgb
Not worth 100 dollars imo
But if its all you can get maybe
I would still hit my local tech stores
63 usd
Even walmart or target
Whatever you have there
Try the keyboards and return
If you dont like
And check rtings for latency tests and overall review
Cant really pick when you are dealing with shitty australian criminal shipping
I would avoid corsair though
Every one ive had has had chattering issues
The worst quality control ive seen
Have owned like 10 at this point
Over half returned
If you dont care about it looking like an office pc then whatever
I would consider hotswap too
The v6 had hotswap and overall lookes better + rgb
But yeah this is ass
Evga best of both worlds but not an option
Unless you want to buy used or “new” on ebay
i wont ever use hotswap
i dont like rgb
Get whatevers in your budget then and checks off most of your boxes
Full size black no rgb
Good keyboard with function and number row wireless for gaming (low latency, decent polling rate) and long typing (light switches, not too loud) hopefully thock cheapest possible?
if i am looking for good cheap and reliable keyboard what i should look at
jb hifi?
wireless
low latency
Choose one
By low I mean as low as possible.. Logitech has lightspeed but that's quite expensive...
No cheap wireless keyboard will be low latency
I have a problem with my keyboard, whenever I press left ctr, the caps lock button gets activated and even lights up. In matrix it shows normal left ctrl and I can bind any other key to the position of left ctrl. I think windows somehow always recognized left ctrl as capslock
Ignoring RGB, can we like, rank the logitech Wave keyboard and M705 mouse combo?
been seeing if i should upgrade when i get an actual desktop
you either pay for something with logitech lightspeed or corsair slipstream or whatever, or you get trash.
ok then whats the cheapest of that bunch which isnt a nightmare to type on?
it ain't the 2000s anymore
bigger issue would be the the companies looking for low latency wireless are not the companies trying to make an actually decent keyboard
What’s the difference between Logitech g413 and g613 besides wired and wireless?
And price
So if I spilt a liquid on my keyboard and quickly flipped it upside and put it somewhere warm is there anyway it could start working again
i've seen crazier, but don't count on it, I would inspect the pcb
esp if price is a factor, you are either paying for a decent board, or for the licensing for the connector
What’s a pcb I’m stupid
is there an issue with having a plate directly connected onto a pcb
just having nothing in between at all
As long as it isn't powered on then sure, just make sure its fully dry before you use it again (at least a day)
wdym exactly
hey so like i just tried it now it works like everything works fine is it safe to use or leave it longer its been like 15 hours
probably fine
quiet and linear full size with lights and a volume wheel
k100 matches all boxes besdies quiet.l
A cohesive, motivating story around the product in about 100 words. Explain as much as possible in the simplest way possible. Explain technical terms. If using acronyms, then spell out as well. This should be written in paragraph form, not a features list. G915 TKL is a new class of wireless mech...
Yo im a bit late but my cat pissed on my keyboard recently, as long as there isn't water or there isn't any rust forming in the board it should be fine (i needed to change a transistor on my board bc i let rust form)
that is wild
ur cat pissed on ur kb
Right as i switched out the stock switches for a new one too
damn
i spilt half a litre of coke on mine
its fine now like
some sticky keys but thats about it
and fix for that?
well sticky switches
like if u take the keycap off that little button thing
If its dried all the way it should be fine, you could try and disassemble the switches and clean them out
I'd break the keyboard
Using isopropyl alc or smth that isn't conductive
My mom spilled tea in hers but after a couple month the stickiness is gone tho so idk maybe it goes away on its own
She does write a lot so maybe her writing dislodges some stuff that makes it sticky
So i guess type a way
i have no mineral water would that work
peeboard
hey guys, im looking for your full size keyboard recommendations, only catch is I would like it to be south paw
had my eyes on keychrons q12 but I've been out of touch with the keyboard community for about a year now so I wasnt sure if there were better options.
thank you in advance! ping me please
no mineral water will "fuck shit up"
imma make a sticker that says peeboard on mine now
Keeborb
I spilt about half a can of Diet Coke on my keyboard I unplugged it immediately and took all the keys out and dried it as much as I could with paper towel and it’s sitting slanted upside down anything else I should do and how long before I should use it because I have some assignments due tonight
half a can and especially coke is going to be really bad. just putting it upside down isn't going to cut it like water, the residue can end up killing it.
i would advise taking it a part completely and wiping down the pcb with rubbing alcohol
you also need to assess the spillage, like is the liquid inside individual key switches?
I kinda panic dried it so I’m not too sure how bad it was
it did spill in the top half of the keyboard with no openings
that's what you should be doing, you dry the big spillage first
But I would assume it could go on the switches
what keyboard model
k70
I doesn’t really look like liquid could get into the switches
they are tight on there
its transparent keyswitches
check if there's liquid splashes inside them
yea I can see a few drops on the green board inside it
Currently in my college dorm so I don’t have the tools to take it apart
Nvm I got a thermostat screwdriver
i'm not sure if you can separate the plate from the pcb without de-soldering all of the switches
it will be basically impossible to clean the topside of the pbc with the plate still on
Yea I think you are right
you can still use cleaning tools with isopropyl, its just annoying
Why would you do that, keyboards can't drink, they don't have mouths
i know english can be tuff
Clearly he thought the keyboard was thirsty
Nah fr though as long as it didn't sit in the PCB it should be fine
If it was swimming, yikes
i got it drying now i cant really take it apart right now but i dont think it leaked that much into the keyboard
mostly on the top and it ran down it
hey guys, im looking for your full size southpaw keyboard recommendations
had my eyes on keychrons q12 but I've been out of touch with the keyboard community for about a year now so I wasnt sure if there were better options.
thank you in advance! ping me please!
Dude a ducky at goodwill for $5
Guys how are you supposed to clean a paracord cable?
Is using a damp cloth ok?
Or is there some dark magic techniques y'all use
very nice
is this a good keyboard?
shipping is 4$ but there is a coupon that makes it free shipping
bad compared to what esle?
nice, show me your non-chinese made board then
Did ya get it?
Yup and my friend got it working by cleaning it out.
s p a c e
We love space
the final frontier
Or so we've been told
Space buddies
I found a image of this keyboard but idk the model and it doesn't specify
really?
