Thanks
steno is the type of typing method, plover is probably the keyboard
Is that an actual normal layout keyboard
Oh
Is that like an already built keyboard?
Oh
aliexpress has all switches for half price
and no shipping
all switches i buy come from aliexpress
other vendors barely offer warranty
warranty on switches?
are there any other keyboards like the keychron q8 pro around the same price range with similar specs that are worth looking at ?
wheres all the topre domes
so this gonna sound crazy. i just had a klondike bar right? and somehow just accidentally some of the chocolate from the outside of the ice cream bit fell onto a few of my keys on my keyboard. i then rushed and got cleaning wipes and removed the keycaps that had chocolate on them and cleaned the outside and a bit more inside with the cleaning wipes tring to clean my keyboard. When after i dried the keyboard and keycaps and put the keycaps back onto their designated key switches in place back on the keyboard and played with/typing the keys on the keyboard...i noticed that THOSE key/keycaps back in its respective places on the keyboard sounded a lot more ahem "thocky." Is this normal/ok? If so i should cover my keyboard switches with chocolate more often to get the keys to sound more thocky. lol. just figure i share my story and ask if in my situation thats ok or normal? thats it. Thanks.
oh btw mind you....it was only a LITTLE bit of the chocolate from the klondike bar that had fallen on top of the keycap of the keyboard.
it was only like a few of the key/keycaps on the right side. if needed or anyone wants i can record and share a video of the different key sounds of my keyboard with left side sounding normal and right side sounding more "thocky"
thank you for coming to my TED Talk
im gonna kms
Ngl seeing the keeb prices at this point I'll just build my own.
what happened to keeb prices?
The good ones with no RGB costs quite a bit more in Taiwan
And some brands simply does not exist here unless you TaoBao it but I don’t think it would be the best thing to do
Using this bad boy
Its an amazon mechanical hotswap keyboard
have plans for it but so far all I've done is put Steelseries key caps on and lube the stock Red switches
and geez my camera sucks
How much $
Last I check it was $23 and on sale $15
Dang it went up to $35
With no switch options
before there was Blue, Brown and, Red
The problem is not wireless, I tried using with cable its works, but when I unplug the cable it doesn't work at all. Most likely the problem is in the battery right?
its possble to fix it?
if the cable works, but charging it does not, it is most likely battery
you can swap batteries
i guess not massively produced
but all gateron, cherry, kailh, akko, keychron stuff can be bought there
Check it
Where can I find the battery?
contact manufacturer
for original
you mean on pcb
check their forums
Fack manufacturer
Mfw GMK67 is much cheaper than pre-built
And sounds better
This makes Ducky and IKBC felt like a scam
I'm planning to get a GMK67 and I am currently on a pickle.
You see, I recently discovered this keycap
cheeeeeese
And I now on a dilemma on either kept the black-pink/lilac scheme or go with black-yellow + cheese escape
I don't mind adding some sort of personality into my keeb as a way to cope for not having one as a person
Can I see them?
sure one sec
And what GMK caps they use?
GMK Originals are sold for cheap here so might as well cop some while at it
Oh
one is akko ones and the other gmk vaporwave
Name of the Akko ones?
eh
i dont think they sell them separately
its ASA akko pink black keycaps , probably only with their keyboards
for those who are tight on a budget
Truly unfortunate.
yeah but when you buy the keyboard
they send you the keycaps and all the extras for free
I'll go to Guang Hua in a few days so might as well ask any of the shops there for black on pink.
for a whole 153keycap set
Yeah but I just want one.
And AKKO stuff isn't that popular here in Taiwan. At least from my research.
Everyone here uses GMK.
I live in my campus's dorm and I don't want to pay for customs.
I'm literally an international student.
damn i live in europe and i buy from tao all the time 😄
So technically I'm not supposed to do anything crazy.
i bought from tao when i was a int student in canada
damn you can buy anything you want
I'm glad that this GMK67 is available locally.
but check local market, taiwan must be crazy
Later this week!
My lab is moving to we might go there too to buy some stuff.
I'm also buying myself my own Christmas gift.
which country you originaly from ?
Not really like disclosing that sorry.
Nah
or a whole differenr side of planet
So the plan is
Comes with it.
oh nice
GMK67
Either black and pink (or lilac) or black and yellow keycaps
C h e e s e escape keycap
Or something else to complement. Something local.
Switches wise I'm definitely grabbing silents.
Nah. This will be used in a shared dorm room.
I will also try to disable the RGB hardware-ly
If I can't then just either QMK it or use the knob.
If I were to do all of this, the cost will be cheaper than Keychron
Or Leopold
Or Ducky One 3's
While at the same time, sounding better.
Doubleshot PBT, better case, better switches, and lubed.
ah
GMK comes with pre-lubed stabs.
wait keycaps affect sound?
They don't lol. I forgot.
whats the difference on the cases?
Eh they actually do
Material
ah
One of the examples is Think65 making MX Browns sound like heaven.
But yeah. Switches wise I wouldn't worry much. As long as it's tactile and silent, I don't care.
The seller has GMK Olivias on stock for the GMK67
It does look great though.
But I wanted something else. Something more....
Pink.
Or Lilac.
ooh speaking of silent tactiles, been looking at https://switchoddities.com/products/outemu-silent-lemon-v2 , anyone have experience with these?
SwitchOddities
I know lemons aren't green, but that's what most translations refer to these as. I'm assuming it's from a joint word for citrus or something. Anyway, it's a nice small and sharp bump tactile with Outemu's super squishy silencing and a 5-pin variant now. Actuation Force: 35g Tactile Force: 50g Bottom Out Force: 45g Act
thinking about using those for games if it feels less heavy than boba u4 silent
I'll just go to Guang Hua at this point to test some switches.
Maybe this instead of cheese
Nevermind GMK Olivia dark exists.
I'm buying that shit.
are those xda honey milk keycaps
cute but useless
cute of you to think they have switches other than cherry to try
vint browns are great wdym
only cherry switch i like is ergo clear
they are very scratchy and cost double compared to gateron switches
clickiez are expensive as fuck tf u mean
i like optical switches
i have to say new gateron pro 3.0 switches have incredible lubing job done
i am sending back my pbtfans wob keycaps
not worth 90 eur feel more like 23 eur
Does nyone know of any white or beige shine through keycap sets that and have this legend?
I've been searching for litteral years with no luck
Holy shit
Hey i got this realforce RGB keyboard, but it kind of sounds off
The press itself is find, but the rebounding bounce makes a weirder noise.
ANyone know if its supposed to sound like that
how weird
you mean apple legends?
shine trough probably not
best keyboard youtuber?
is there a howtobasic of mechanical keyboards
I watch a bunch of keyboard tiktoks. I don't know if I liked it.

message im trying to convey is
don't buy this shit for 1.4k its not worth that much, Its just a keyboard if you really want it, just wait for the groupbuy.
i love this board
this is better
is there like a reason why there’s only a single tab key on most keyboards, and it’s so far away from the numpad?
typewriters probably
finna buy some stuff from taobao what else should i get in the sametime
how can i mod rk84
Tx stabs, solder wick
preference yet he trashes on cherry mx brown switches the most
he looks more like morgan freeman
ah nvm it's on ali lol
anyways
im looking to upgrade the usb cable
The durable HyperX Coiled Cable comes in a variety of colors so you can express yourself and fine-tune the details of your setup. Don’t just connect your keyboard, get attached to it with 6 vibrant colors to match your style. The tough, dual-layer cable is not only super durable, but the coiled d...
something like that but i have no idea which ones are good
the nuphy one kinda just has bad cable memory and looks funky
the fix would be to go wireless 24/7 but i like it wired when im home
ooh looking at cablemods ones
the mass produced ones
are ok-ish
you better of buying an artisanal that will last longer and you can customise it
like on etsy or something?
oh god why are you showing me theres different connectors other than aviators
looking at space cables
ahh theyre so nice lol
im liking the Lemo
and im not even done looking at the others lol
space cables is US made and they have some priced around 50-60$
which are super good
the lemo is i think a swiss made connector
so it's more expensive
there is yc8 which i have
the yc8 are nice
i like the laser vaporwave colors one
i dont 😄
eh
i think you can select
lemo
but it's much more expensive isnt it?
like the connector only is 25$
aviator only for me
im not gonna build my own i was just curious
comes to 60$ for an aviator lol
i mean ill take one of their prebuilts for less$ lol
yep
also the reason im not buyong on nuphy directly
id support them directly if i didnt have to pay so much tax lol
- conversion rate
4-15€ for the customs processing
i dont mind paying the tax
i do mind paying the customs bs processing thats automated XD
a lot
3x more then the post
yep
if i could pick -not dhl- i would XD
in physical construction
but no difference
I have finalized my keyboard's build plan
GMK67, trying to mod it as far as it goes without buying any modding equipment or lube
Wuque Studio WS Silent Tactiles so I can use it on the dorm/lab
GMK Olivia Dark Clones
nice
you should buy lube tho for stabs and shit
Stabs are lubed from the factory
yeah akko says that
So I only need to stabilize it
and i still had to tune them
Maybe clip it when necessary
you defo need lube
damn
Apparently it was decent
as I said lemo is like 20
But if lubes are so cheap then I'll buy it on the store
thats with tax xD
just buy lube 😄 its like 5usd
damn 90cad
i paid
51eur for mine
Yeah but why pay 5 USD if I will only use a bit of it at the end?
I'm not building keebs. I just need one.
i understand
but if you only build one
~72 cad for 51 euro
might as well make it good
but yc8
yeah yours is only lemo style
I can just ask the staff to add more lube into it
not official lemo
but lemo is a really expensive swiss piece of metal haha
do as you wish
i can get YC8 for 5$ instead
I can pay them like several cents idk
dropping it to 75 CAD
yeah i love it
oh yeah i can edit oh well XD
much better then coiled stuff i had
looks nice when you get it but it gets all screwed up after time
coil looses its tension and gets warped
Silver is the most conductive material
Gold plating is used to prevent oxidation
youre right
isn't there a device to coil it again
yeh

if i could buy a solo coiled cable with my straight one
yeah its only for you
that'd be cool to choose
oh right lol

yeah looks sick
black mesh over orange cable
that would be sick
i bought too many screwdrivers so orange and black
ive had enough of it
and im waiting for a mkc75 board in orange and ill put black keycaps on it
i got em XD
the cable or ?
yeh
awesome
cable coil + non coil device end
nice
now all i need is the wan deskpad
kweeebec
damn
east lol
i prefer ordering within canada
canada post is
canada post is bad
they lost my LTX merch order
did they ?
LTT re-shipped though
yep
well they lost it bringing it to the distribution center
im not sure if its actually canada post
i actually hated quebec city itself
but i blame em
montreal was awesome
thats my city ;p
but quebec reminded me of my city
i like visiting quebec city
such a tourist packed scammy center
hahaha
ottawa was boring and toronto was too much of skyscrapers
halifax was calm
Montreal isnt full of skyscrapers because we're not allowed to build higher than mount royal
i saw the nuclear aircraft carrier
true
but it reminded me of a mix
😄
Montreal = game company land
ubisoft ?
damn
a ton of indies
we even have larian games in quebec city
something about tax breaks for game companies in quebec
ah yeh
i got to see some navy ships
quebec city right
ye
i was like big park, navy ships? not montreal aha
yeah in montreal it was mostly
unless u mean mount royal, which is a hill
walking and walking
lolol
long straight roads
but its soo humid
everywhere in eastern canada
like new york is near the ocean but its nowhere near as humid
lol
I wanted to buy a cable too but I realized that GMK67 is already wireless.
I can use my apple cable to charge it
yeah
does the gmk has rgb ?
rgb drains battery like hell
you can just turn it off no?
yeah you can
i havent tried to turn off the halo rgb when i go wireless, yet lol
downgraded nuphy console to 1.02 too cause the main version doesnt work on ultrawide
zooooomed in
and had to launch the chinese version, but replaced the txt file with the english one XD
quick google search showed me how to play with the halo light - FN + H + arrows
I do but I will turn it off 24/7
Yeah Olivia darks are definitely a go for me.
So here's the build, finally finalized.
GMK67
Wuque Studio WS Silent Tactiles
GMK Olivia Dark clone
what bastardized version of olivia is that
that is more like olivia dark core mixed with dolch
It's actually Olivia dark
Daily Clack
BY PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THERE WILL BE NO REPLACEMENTS AND NO CHANGE OF MIND RETURNS ACCEPTED ON THESE ORDERS. Saving the best for last! GMK Olivia++ is going to be HUGE One of the most iconic keysets from last year was GMK Olivia. While the group didn't have the largest of numbers, the post group buy
you see how alphas and mods are the same color
++ dark core and No3 dark apl essentially are the same besides the uv printed sublegends
while this has black mods and dark grey alphas
Probably lighting
actually
this is also official
still the same thing though
mods and alphas are the same color
though I think the zoom set had them black
because factories like that have "good" colors available
the numpad is connected by serial
Hey sorry for the delay got caught up moving and then getting sick 😐
I haven't experienced that many switches. My first keyboard had cherry blues, now I'm rocking gateron brown and I think I prefer those. I built a corne for a friend and tried choc robin and purpz. I really liked the choc robin and low profile was kind of nice. So I think I prefer tactile and linear. Doesn't matter to me how loud it is but silent would be off putting I think.
Happy to do mods, I can solder decently and I think other things should be possible too. Do you think the hall effect switches are worth looking into as well?
Right now I don't think hall effect sensors are really necessary for keyboard switches, tbh. I do have optical gateron browns in the keyboard at my office, but I wouldn't really say they're any better than regular switches,
Tbh you would probably enjoy a keychron k12 pro with browns. Buy it pre-assembled, do a tape mod on the bottom of the PCB, lube/film your switches, and buy another set of keycaps that strike your fancy, and you'll have yourself a great keyboard.
@tropic barn ping
anyone know if that actually is a trackpad
also the arrows around it are actually the arrow keys lol
i remapped a few keys to make it better for me
it doesnt look like a trackpad to me
Keyboard poèple, do those switch are compatible whit cherry mx Red? It say mx on it https://www.dealabs.com/share-deal/2627938?utm_source=copy_url_mb&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=2023-09-27&utm_content=2627938
it does say some models have one
are cheap coiled cables good?
holy shipping
?!
No way
no
its a plastic cable coiled and it looks like a goddamn used telephone cable
they all work the same
it is just copper
but they may not look as good
i have multiple coiled cables from aliexpress and they work fine just not feel as premium
keyboard
Should I buy a “generic keyboard” for £1 🗿
Even better I can get a “generic wired gaming keyboard” for £2
1 dollar e waste what a deal
Quite the opposite, it’s used so it’s saving the environment
Done deal orders in! Keycaps wise any recommendations for quality?
Quality on keycaps isn't a masssssive spread unless you're a super hardcore enthusiast.
Amazon, aliexpress, epomaker, akko, drop, keychron, glorious all will have decent keycap sets.
ABS vs PBT is generally personal preference, although the general preference for people is PBT. Most PBT keycap sets won't have shine through on the legend, so just keep that in mind if you're a fan of that or you work in a dim environment.
If I could stomach a $165 (including numpad) keycap set, I'd get this guy in a heartbeat.
https://drop.com/buy/drop-the-lord-of-the-rings-mt3-elvish-keycap-set?defaultSelectionIds=964666
I just checked, and it looks like the k pro brown switches that come in the keyboard are factory lubed, so you'll likely be able to skip that step as they apparently do a pretty good job. If not, it remains an option to lube them yourself.
Ah okay, I think light won't be an issue so I'll probably go PBT. Those are beautiful but yikes 165 lol
Ill do some hunting around and see what looks cool. I may try lubing myself anyway just for the experience.
Just look at a bunch of websites and pick a set you really like.
I probably spent two days looking at keycaps for my first keyboard.
You can always do what I did with the switches in my current keyboard. I felt out each one, and any that felt a little subpar I re-lubed.
Or if I didn't love their sound profile.
That seems reasonable, know of a way to get alt, ctrl, fn, menu keys that have arrow printings instead of their normal functions? Helpful if anyone other than me uses my keyboard lol
Not sure.
Admittedly one of the things I like about the elvish keycap set is if I put it on my work keyboard, it'll just fuck with anyone who tries to use it.
Ha, fair defense. At work that's a big win
what are cheap good linear switches?
uh
normal?
https://www.inet.se/kategori/574/custom/1070/akko is the difference between these just the spring weight?
Silvers have less travel and a shallower actuation point.
rn i have cherry mx reds in a corsair keyboard but they're starting to chatter and they're very pingy
they were pingy from the start but i just put up with it
The closest to the cherry reds you're used to will be the jelly pinks.
Same actuation force, same travel distance.
Just might feel/sound a tiny bit different becuase of different materials.
im up for trying something new
Probably a little smoother tbh
They don't really need to be lubed IMO, but they are a little nicer when you do lube them.
hm it's hard to say what i think i would prefer
or like
idk i feel like i might like slightly lighter and shallower switches
but
you cant KNOW without trying an entire boardd right
see that double d was the switch chattering
:/
Hard to truly know if you don't try. I don't think you'll be disappointed, though. I was pretty impressed when I unboxed them
Only caveat is that they're discontinued, so you can't get new ones if any break. CS Sakuras are mostly the replacement, but they're slightly lighter in terms of force required to press them.
TBH a lot of that sound could be mitigated from lubing the switches you have and doing some board mods to dampen sound.
there is some foam inside the chassi
and like if im gonna desolder and lube every switch by hand?i'd rather just get better switches at the same time
especially because several keys are failing
I would not want to desolder/resolder switches personally.
how would one do it then
If the switches are soldered, that's exactly what you'd have to do.
yeah so
But it would be an awful experience.
isn't that the one with hotswap switches anyway? or is it the one from right before that
rip
So should i try to like just lube the stem without removing the switches or just power through it
But yeah early adopter pain ...
i will admit and probably get flak for from this audience but i got it because of the rgb integration mostly
or like
I mean, it is one of the main reasons to go for corsair
I had a really cheap mechanical keyboard before i think it's basically a rebadged royal kludge rk61 with brown switches
kinda as a transition from bumpy membrane boards ig
But i was starting to get over them and wanted something linear
And corsair just happened to release this board at the time
and all my rgb is through icue
I want a full sized version of the k70 pro mini
i even have a led strip on my wall that's controlled with an arduino that's spoofing one of the Corsair controllers over usb
looks a little bit like an IED ....
But i was kinda disappointed with the quality of the switches tbh
The aforementioned cheap brown board had switches labeled content
n they're much more silent
or should i try to RMA it? if cherry guarantees their switches for a hundred million actuations
i got it almost exactly a year ago
i dont think i've typed three hundred thousand letters per day
Hey i have a razer huntsman TE and a deathadder v2 pro , i tried to change the polling rate using a program called NsudoLG.exe. Now my pc doesn’t recognize my keyboard and mouse how can i fix it?
Yeah but
You can't really trust the mfs for the durability
If you type like a gentle pianist then it would last forever.

Q: how old are you / A: i'm in high school!...
Is Logitech g512 a usb 2.0 or 3.0 keyboard?
what
theres a problem with my apex pro and i need help how to fix it
the L key, windows key. 0 keyu, and down key keep fading and i want to fiux it
the slightly lighter text is what gmail is recommending I type
what does that have to do with anything
what does that have to do with anything?
what the hell are you writing???
What kind of keyboard???
android
im having some problem with my keyboard, the numnber keys are swapped with the function key (i typed 1 but the input is f1)
my keyboard model is varmilo vd3, 65%
what does f1 do?
guys what is a decent budget silent switch? and are any of these https://www.globaldata.pt/teclados-e-ratos/switches what i need?
Wuque Studios WS Silent Tactiles
I will be using it on my fuirst build this christmas
thank you
Nope.
The best silent switches aren't made by them.
If there's one, it's not available.
Try something like Kailh Midnight Pro's
Or MX Zilents (Z, not S)
Or just order Wuque's like me.
Boba U4T
hey i need help looking for a keyboard
preferably 75% and low profile if that's possible
is SteelSeries Apex 7 TKL a good keyboard?
nuphy
I just bought the Asus Azoth last night. This thing is crazy good. Not cheap, but really good. Its not low profile however. And you shouldn't use Asus Armory Crate as its basically malware.
hmmm thanks
ill look into it
What about Logitech g305?
Usb 2.0 or 3.0?
I reccommend haimu heartbeats very cheap and quiet, whispers if u want tactile
Theres also skyloong glacier silents for a bigger variety and cheaper, though i prefer the haimu personally
Why do you want usb 3
Isn’t it better than 2?
Cuz if not, then why don’t I just use a ps2 keyboard at that point?
@lost cape ask these nerds
Why don't you use a Thunderbolt 4 mouse?
Heck, why not a PCI-e mouse?
You mean type c?
I don’t know?
Oh ok
The switch exists but it's not in stock
Big sad
literally only because usb is more general and flexible as a port, ps/2 is perfectly good enough for just registering keypresses
not all are gasket or lubed
so yeah they dont all sound great and arent perfect but are a good choice
ps2 more like interrupts
very subjective
a cheap keychron with 2 year warranty is for some people a better option then a diy board
no one cares
what would you guys rate my keyboard?
(sorry for the sideway picture and bad camera quality)
keyboard/10
best tkl keyboard for cheap?
How cheap?
Greasy fingers
7/10
Fair rating but that's just the crappy lighting, I'm going to give the keyboard a good scrub next week tho
like 50 quid
And does it need to be TKL?
Or are you comfortable exploring smaller form sizes?
yes i currently have a 60% but i dont like that im missing dedicated fn and arrow keys
but full size is too big
Compact full size?
too pushed together
Alright, so TKL then
ye
50 quid as in USD or GBP
gb
volume knob would be nice and hotswap and switches id say reds
yes
Which red
Silent or regular
is silent like cant hear it at all?
Yeah, silent reds
Here's exact 50
Friend of mine used that but the full sized one and it was pretty decent.
hot swap?
ah
And doubleshot ABS
the knob wasnt a requirement just something nice to have
Here's the review
its just i have cables at desks already and i just move the keyboard
Not that I know of.
Sorry.
i dont mind going over budget a bit
would u say the keycron k8 is decent?
Tried them yesterday and it was terrible.
oh
Oh and I'm not the person to ask about switches because I have a huge bias towards silent switches.
But blue is for getting fired, brown is for typing, and red is for gaming
Keycaps straight up terrible, no weight on them, too much plasticy
Keychron keycaps are fine though?
Not for me,
so ok with replaced keycaps?
lol gmk is like the same thing
I tried a legit custom keeb and keychron and the custom blow it off the water.
And most doubleshot pbt isn’t even pure pbt
i dont trust myself doing a custom tbh
They aren’t worth it
At least I can mod my GMK to make it satisfactory without breaking the warranty or something
💀
Blud talked shit about GMK yet didn't know it was a barebones which means I can do whatever the fuck I want with it.
What?
You should!
On some cases it's like putting on a lego set
If you can build your own PC, you can build your own keyboard.
A custom is a waste of money for most people
Don’t bother with them unless you know you absolutely want one
i havent built a pc yet either lol
The low profile market is actually good and bad at the same time
How could this happen
what's the easiest way/tips & tricks for swapping soldered keyswitches
desoldering gun
won't that desolder the SMDs as well?
no
If you say so
Oh wait do you mean a hot air gun or a soldering iron with a gun grip
hey, what mechanical keyboard do you recommend?
Pc9801
im a game developer and gamer. i need a green and black themed mechanical keyboard (different shades of green on the keycaps would be nice and have the key caps replaceable) to replace my compaq silver and black ps/2 keyboard. any recommendations?
bruh
this is the keyboard i have
i need recommendations as well because when i build my new pc, im not gonna be able to use this keyboard
Is it possible to buy the blackwidow v4 75% with yellow switches?
Or do I need to buy them separately
Any of these is good?
those are keyboards
CLAW GRIP?
Coming in peace here, have you guys seen that magnetic levitation keyboards and keyswitches have been hitting the market recently?
#loathstone
I think Wooting has to be behind this new wave of keyboards. Since the 60 HE, Steelseries, Razer and now Corsair came up with their own versions and ideas
Heck, even Gateron has rolled out their own magnetic switches
Keychron Q1 is good?
How much money you willing to spend
150 to 300
Desoldering.
Custom or prebuilt
custom
75%
its my first good keyboard
so i dont know what switch
my friend has this
I want all the keys white, except the arrows, ENTER and the ESC in black
awesome picture for an awesome keyboard
Yes thanks obviously but how do i make that as painless for myself as possible
Unfortunately it is what it is.
I enjoyed soldering.
And I don't mind the pain.
the fumes gets less painful the more you breathe in
especially when it has burnt your nasal passage
Not physically painful oh my god
Is there any specific technique? or just fuck around find out
Soldering goes one way.
Solder iron hot
Melt the tin
Suck the tin
Clean with flux
Re-tin
Solder wick and chisel tip
As painless, and you said solder wick, thats so wild
Sounds like you just suck at soldering
I just use an SS-02
If you wanna argue a wick will be a cleaner removal (not marginally) sure, but why spend double the amount of time using a disposable resource when you can pick up a solder sucker, complete the task faster, and still remove all the solder
I'll use your words against you then, "sounds like you just suck at soldering"
I dunno man I’ve used the ss02 long enough to know how well it works
So have I and it works great

My membrane keyboard has similar keycaps
In relation to keycaps: VSG Stardust (left) and Nisuta NSKBGZ108 (right). They're both sold in red entirely, they come in other colours, although there's two things
- VSG used PBT while Nisuta used ABS
BUT - Nisuta has compatibility with a wider range of keyboards (including US ANSI)
- Nisuta uses Spanish ISO while VSG uses the Latam ISO (Spanish ISO is what I'm accustomed to)
Also, if anyone is wondering, yes they're compatible with any keyswitch that has a cross if anyone wants to buy them
In other words, even if VSG is designed around Kalih and Nisuta around Otemu, they're both based in Cherry MX switches so...
Open Letter to the Keyboard Community
I find myself deeply troubled by the recent response regarding the discussion surrounding Topre rubber domes being considered real switches. I respect the diversity of opinion, but I feel compelled to express my personal dismay and concern.
Influencers, by nature, have a significant reach and impact. With that comes the responsibility of ensuring their content is appropriate for their audience. Even if we cannot confirm that underage members of our community listened to these lies, the potential for exposure exists. To dismiss concerns by saying "we don't know kids watched it" is, in my eyes, a passive acceptance of potential harm in letting them think Topre is actually a "mechanical" keyboard brand.
While we all have different moral compasses shaped by personal experiences, cultures, and beliefs, I believe there's a universal understanding that certain discussions about real switches require sensitivity and discretion, especially when there's potential for exposure to a younger audience. My deep discomfort stems from the seeming dismissal of these concerns by many members of our community.
The response has made me reflect on broader issues within our community and the wider keyboard enthusiast circle. If this situation has shown anything, it's that there may be deeper-rooted issues that need addressing.

I actually had a TKL of this, but it died because it developed a drinking problem. Probably well within someones abilities to fix that PCB, but I don't have the time to try. 🤷♂️
The crappy MS in the background is the absolute crap that I dealt with while waiting for this to arrive. SO MUCH PAIN!

Minor question... the only "clangy" key on my new keyboard is the spaqce bar... can I just heavily lube the Ducky space bar to take out that "clack"
?

What's up!
Someone could recommend me a mechanical keyboard for less than 40 euros if possible with red switches (I don't care about that) I don't want to rely on Chinese brands like mars gaming.
Is it the stabilizer that's clanging, or the switch? If it's a ping at the top/bottom, lubing the spring would solve it. If it's the stabilizer, then adding lube to it in small amounts until you get your desired outcome (be careful with overlubing stabs, it makes keys mushy).
hot swappable keyboard, with black and green colour theme? (perferably then keys being multiple shades of green)
It's jarring.
I suspect it's the stab. I appreciate the tip. I'll be conservative with my application.
hello i need new keycaps for my corsair k65 rgb rapidfire where can i find?
Also every time you lube it, press the key a good 20-30 times to get it spread out a little better.
K, will do
