for some reason my halo came in mac config
yep
yes
etc etc
even a different color ghostbar
my gf is ordering one when she has the $ lol
its a regular spacebar
oh
how do i know
lol
i may buy shinethrough keys in the near future
as long as they dont change the sound
gonna have to ask around in here when im planning to buy em lol
im married to this sound right now ahaha
yeah and whats great
eventually when one day the board will not work
battery will pop or saomething
you can always take the great switches
and stabs
i have a track record of keeping my tech for many many years
in good condition
until i spill wine on it
I do aswell but i just buy too much shit
im waiting for keybay to get the field75 in stock
haha
canadian store no customs costs XD
wouldve got the halo but they didnt have the racoons on there
she plans to steal it when i go to the office to work
until i get a nice carry bag for it im not travelling with it lol
yeah a hard case
the ltt bag is good but im still gonna protect the crap out of this board ๐
you got the backpack ?
yeh
nice
had it for a while now i think was wave 3
im a lucky one with two ๐
got one from the first batch and it was leaning like crazy
there will be a second one in this home eventually
and gave the first one to a friend
nah they have to after showing them so much on WAN haha
titanium leads the way
i'd guess they will start sending them once they get all the old bags in the warehouse changed
it sounds like a really big pain in the butt for logistics lol
the more bags they sell the more carabiners they need
i have both ๐
black shaft gang regular+stubby
black n orange
first use of my stubby - dismantling a treadmill for my friend as they're moving
Why use a ratcheting screw driver when you can use a Milwaukee M12 FUEL Impact Driver
depends on how old you are
Every 3 pin PCB fits a 5 pin switch if you cut it the 4th and 5th pin
i didnt know choc had 5 pin versions lol
How much you got?
none except a single logo on my gpu lol
Thats nothing
I can understand why some people don't like RGB. I dont have any in my PC case but my mouse and keyboard have it. It can be fun to play around with but the full color puke can be a lot. Its like underglow on cars
RGBad
But why?
cutie
Hey guys, are there any keypads on the market that come with an analog thumbstick and not a fake 8-way d-pad that just looks like a thumbstick?
Ion think an analog stick is hard on an electircal level. there should be some around
Iโve seen and looked into the Azeron line of products but Iโm wondering if there are any others in the market that I donโt know about
Oh that looks promising
Oh but it doesnโt come with an option to put the joystick on the left side of the keyboard
Iโm trying to look for a left handed one so that I can use controller movements in games
Aside from keychron, are there any other decent tkl barebones kits?
haven tkl
Oof, little pricey
monsgeek
m3
is the redragon fizz k617 good build quality?
Keyborb
can anyone help me with picking a keyboard
realforce
thank you, perchance you would like to hear the parameters of what I can buy?
not really
epic
do i need a plate? hotswap choc, cfx spaced
maybe I'll get that and a spacer printed
as long as the PCB has the mounting holes you don't NEED a plate...but it can feel more rigid with one.
can i use a switch plate as a bottom plate in a skeleton case?
or maybe ill just bolt the pcb to the tin
What were you in the market for?
%95> keyboard with a 200$ budget
So most likely a tenkeyless or smaller?
uh
I don't know what those words mean
but Id like something full size or keys just squeezed together
Monsgeek m5 maybe would suit your needs.
yep
any works, id prefer rgb but if you are saying I can get better without it then that is also alright
thanks
I think its more just preference. There are a lot of people here that dislike it but there are a number of perfectly good keyboards that have it/use it.
The Wooting Two HE is a decent full size board that has rgb
I was actually considering that lol
it having analog sort of sold it to me, bit of a silly reason but I'd like to play NFS with it
Id say go for it. If it's for gaming it would be great. On the higher end of prices but well within your price range
One of the best keyboards for gaming that ive heard
anyone have a fun 30% with thumb keys to share
pain27 with a split space
ooh hummingbird is close
You're wild for that
always the dilly lolol
that reminds me, I never could figure out what this was for
Nice tv remote
Can probably make a nice little macro board with it ;p
Just got some new switches today
MX bling yellow
They feel sooo good
So good that I don't want any chocs pink anymore
I'll go with minimal mx spacing and custom keycaps
What are yall's thoughts on the "Bias v2" keyboards as a whole?
great if you dont mind the turnaround time
what if i have 5 of them on hand
haha no you dont
are you flipping them
maybe
๐ฅ
yes
and a geonworks f1-8x 772
right.
left?
cool
idk it's up to my boss, he bought them from a guy who walked into the computer repair store i work at.
how much did he paid them for
$100 per keyboard
i'll talk to him
i'm only just getting into keyboards, i've got a gmmk2 with redragon switches as my keyboard so that geon feels nice
Guys, AITA for using the clickiest keyboard I could find to work from home when my wife is trying to sleep in the bed next to me?
Why are you asking internet strangers when you can just ask your wife
Neo65
No from qk batch ones already shipped
I was like the second person to get it though
Also I'm a YouTuber with 53 subscribers so they probably prioritized mine ๐๐๐๐
does anyone have suggestions for a good site or sites to purchases parts to build a custom board looking to go fully custom insted of slightly or prebuilt
Qwertykeys
I am looking at getting a new keyboard, do I stick with wired or go wireless?
youll need a wireless one because youll most definitely type while on the shitter
if you even have to ask that, then stick to wired lol
I only have 1 cable on show and it's my keyboard and I don't wanna drill my desk that's all
So wireless is preferred but idk if it will effect performance
keyfirst mx bling yellow best switches ever
topre is better
I dont mind stock topre but im a linear guy for sure
Donโt spread misinformation please ๐
It's not, sorry
Mans been inhaling too much Copre
You arenโt at that point yet trust ๐
So i recntly was given some switches and i was curious if anyone had any experience with them. They are the Akko V3 Matcha Green PRO switches, ive looked all around the internet to see if anyone has a sound test or anything and i cannot find anything.\
what % would this fall under
Like 90%
Hello, ive recently been looking for a keyboard for a gaming pc, the crazy thing is i really don't care much about it beeing a mechanical keyboard, I like the feeling on a membrane keyboard, and i have been playing for years on an generic hp keyboard that came with an old all in one I used to have. Sadly the keyboard died not long ago and know i need to buy a new one. Really Im just looking for something with a good response time, that's not to pricey, I looked for wireless mechanical keyboards, however I came to notice most of them are really far to expensive for what Im willing to pay, then I started to look into regular wireless keyboards, but i have no idea if i will experience connection problems or the connection will be to slow to play games. If anyone could help with some recommendations that would be awesome (Im looking to expend beetween 40-50 dollars) also the wireless part would be a bonus but cable connection wouldn't be a problem
Realforce
fc660c
k120
hmm, idk what the difference is with those and the regular matcha green ones, but, the regular matcha greens from akko are quite nice, the pre-lubed ones even are sweet
do you not care about it being a mechanical keyboard or would you be fine with getting one if it were mechanical and in your price range? also what size keyboard do you want -- like, do you want it to be a full sized keyboard with a number pad, can it be TKL (without a number pad), 75%, 65%? (you can see the different styles if you look online on google images)
btw the wireless mechanical keyboards i know of all come with the ability to plugin and do it wired anyway, so you can always do that while gaming. there are a bunch of options in that price range, ill post a few
hyper x also has a membrane
Anyone have recs for a mechanical keyboard? Replacing a Blackwidow Chroma, want MX Blues full size. Budget of max $200
wooting
fastest and best gaming money can buy
+customizable
or get the new apex pro that copied wooting with hall effect switches and rapid trigger
Can anyone recognise this switch?
anyone know what these are
they're kinda ass and i'm probably going to throw them out
keyboards
wow so true
n!n and waveshare... are these direct pin boards?
Got this Cherry MXRed K70 for $10 at Goodwill, I can officially say I have my first Mechanical Keyboard and am loving every second of it!
makes sense, what spacing?
Choc for the white one and normal MX spacing for the colorful one
I want to try a tighter spaced mx board
Thoughts on my new keyboard?
What the hell is happening with the space bar
Wdym?
Lol
Looks great
Yeah what is going on with the space bar
looks like a doorbell
i swear the modding community is so deluded that they are at the point of modding with trash just to stand out
lol, lmao even
It sure is lol
It's not soldered on, but I thought about it
atleast clean it first and make sure the switch in it has a low enough contact settling time
otherwise you will have you spacebar double or triple typing on one press down
or just be overall unreliable
should not be an issue if its some cheap 125hz keyboard or a keychron with 10ms+ debounce window
is that a serious question
I'd assume people don't find NOS pingmasters randomly
๐
bait didn't work
i'm sad

hi,
wanting to get a mechanical keyboard and i found this one
should i get it?
i would like a blue switch one
Clean
my first board was a used k10, great way to learn the basics, like most consumer boards way too many screws tho, had me about to get a electric driver @ ltt WHEN?
do you have any side by side experience with durock and stabies?
unfortunately I dont, I have akko screw in and clip in
and also durock and the old everglide ones
I A/B tested Staebies vs Durock in one of my builds
Much prefered staebies
Only because I am not very good at tuning stabs though. I'm sure if I put some more effort into my Durock stabs, they'd be just as good
But staebies are very easy to tune
I still prefer TX clip-ins to both of those
Just as easy to tune, easy af to install
Any 40% recommendations? Really the only requirements for me is that itโs hot swappable and wireless. Want a portable keeb for my steam deck.
idk what any of that means lol
unless you werenโt talking to me, then proceed lol
well, do you want a split board or not?
also what would be your budget?
i just stan these boards tbh
split wireless hotswap doesn't exist I think lol
nvm it does
just not as a prebuilt most likely, unless one of the sites that prebuilds has them in stock
yeah
a few of the sites want 300 bucks to build a corne for you with nicenanos lol
If you're willing to build one, that'd be the way to go most likely
for split*
yeah budget and willingness to solder is also important
and idk if they want split or not i just wanted to mention in case
theres also unibody splits
Not split, and preferably under $100 USD. May consider 60%s as well, just need something small enough to comfortably go in a backpack.
I really like my current RK84 for my desktop, but idk if RK makes 40%s. The smallest Iโve seen is the RK61.
If there is a keyboard where my typing speed is a lot lower and less accurate than other keyboards, is it worth practicing on that keyboard to improve my typing speed or should I just stick with the keyboards Iโm already good with typing on?
Well that depends on your use case
And preference
I donโt think you bought a board just to shit on it, and throw it out for spite. Unless it becomes your mantelpiece then probably practice on it ๐คท
I'm still getting used to my Halo96, It's much more compact than my old full keyboard. There's no gaps between the arrow keys, F Keys, Numpad etc... It's worth it for me at least!
This is the most I've ever looked at the keyboard when typing too in many years!
I mean itโs not something I Bought because I wanted it, itโs just an old apple USB keyboard because I didnโt have anything else and I switched from a MacBook to a Mac mini.
I just donโt know if itโs worth practicing on a crappy keyboard or just wait until i get something decent
I mean if you have no choice, you'll get used to it ๐
Iโll probably get a Magic Keyboard at some point. Theyโre still shit, but way better than these. Theyโre also basically just MacBook keyboards which is what Iโm used to
Practicing, vs just using it, maybe just use it and get used to it rather than practice until you get a new one
Yeah, I WPM on my MacBook was 60-70
On this one I get around 50
Not actually as far away as I thought tbh. Feels a lot slower than it is ๐
I haven't tested mine in a while, but I'm feeling old saying this... back in high school ~20 years ago jeezuz, we had to have 85WPM and above 90% accuracy to pass computers class lol
Isnโt the average like 40?
not with this teacher
85 seems really high for a minimum
all we did all class was play that bookworm character game forgot the name
Even professionals are around like 90-100 arenโt they?
I can fill out a blank keyboard sheet down to the symbols and F keys without reference
yeah i think so
She was rough on us I guess lol
85 seems insanely high
was normal for us, I thought 100 was normal XD
keep in mind this was ~20+ years ago or so
we didnt really have smart phones and whatnot XD
Yeah tbh, I feel like phones are reducing my typing speed
gonna try a monkeytype
Like on mobile Iโm SUPER slow, like 40 something I think.
If apple made a blackberry style phone I would pay a worrying amount of money for that ๐
Ahh, yeah thatโs true, I never really use swiping. Im generally faster but I have to think about the gesture of every word before I do it and it slows me down long term
I thought I was a 90 wpm typer I think I was just focused XD
Like for a couple words itโs faster, but if Iโm writing multiple sentences itโs way slower
yeh agreed for me too on mobile ๐
it sometimes puts the wrong words
so you have to slow down and fix it
Yeah typing speed tests arenโt good real world examples. If you know what you want to write you can be faster since you donโt have to read them
Or if you donโt know exactly what you write you have to think about that too which will slow you down
gives an idea
The only real way it works is that everyone is doing the same thing so you can compare. But itโs still not perfect
it's more getting an idea of that person's capabilities
in class the tests were several typing tests one after another and then the average of all of them iirc
Also watching wan show atm and they were talking about luke having dyslexia makes his โWPMโ lower even though he can type fast because he struggles with the reading aspect
once you make one typo if youre going fast you make a lot of typos in a row
and that just destroys the test results lol
Depends if you go back and fix them or not
monkey type is a bit more lenient on them i think
the software we had not so much ๐
and yeah the game we played a LOT in class was Bookworm Adventures
Yeah I think they were just about dropping typing as a school class as I was in primary school
I'm pretty it was that one it looks right in google images aha
they should leave it as part of at least one of the computer courses
I remember doing a couple online lessons or something, but it was never something they actually taught
it's a good skill anyway
Yeah
if you guys even have computer classes
i dont have kids yet so i'll find out in the future aha
im from the generation of overhead projectors and blackboards
We do, but itโs more of a computer science and IT combo, itโs more for experience in a bunch of fields to see if youโre interested for either IT or CS as a GCSE
damn I wish we had those when I was a kid ๐
they donโt really teach you anything you can use
still sounds more fun
in college, one of our teachers "taught" us how to google search for a few weeks
Lmaoo
she tried to embarass me during that exam too, i finished the exam in about 5 minutes or less and she said if we finish we can leave - she cut me off and took my exam and corrected it in front of everyone and it was 100% lol
It still amazes me how many people donโt understand what Google even is.
The amount of people who just think โtype the name of a website in and it takes me to that websiteโ is insane
lol
that's dns resolving or wtv
im bad at networking aha its something along those lines
URL resolves to an IP somewhere and displays whats on the page
Yeah it basically is the job of the DNS
if you dont know the exact url or tld its still pretty good though
i meant it in reply to this ig
Well yeah, but thatโs not what itโs doing. Itโs just searching for that search term across the internet and giving you results which include it a lot of times.
Itโs just coincidence that a lot of websites tend to talk about themselves a lot ๐
xD
Also we should probably jump to general
gener..al?
dead channel anyways, its pretty free
I mean
ive been sticking in FP chat lol
Hmm
i hide behind the bread creators
Im too poor for fp atm
i split it with my gf for the year
Used to be on it though
im spend too much on keyboards to do any fp
xD
OG tier ftw
Lmaoo
i wish i was OG tier
Probably get back on it in a month or two
its fine i dont mind throwing money at FP, I didn't even ask them to refund me the pro-rated when i upgraded to 4k XD
they do good
Iโve just signed a new contract with EE to get a 15 pro max
i keep the vids archived to my plex โค๏ธ
tryna decide on a split keyboard idea
Need to wait for the first bill to come out in a month before I can budget around that
pixel user?
pixel phone
i should use the reply button more
Shaun talking about the 15 pro max
but im in here so i dont want to let go of the keyboard ๐
ohhh i thought you saw something that made it clear someone was using a pixel lol
oh lol
pixel is good, their buds nice too
yknow altoids smalls?
gonna use the address bar to google it
i see lol
is this about your split keyboard?
Wellโฆ if youโve ever had to do data entry in a corporate officeโฆ nothing better than $10, maybe 20 membrane keyboards there unless you bring your own
kinda
guess the price
Which seems to be a bit of a trend
No kidneys
300 US
try again
No idea ๐
50$
It's adorable though omg
you do the art ?
heading out have a good clacky keyboard day all
you too bro
$20
close enough
It works
It's not a very comparable experience to my previous spacebar(glorious lynx) but it technically works
oh might have a k616 then?
I need Royal kludge rk84 keycaps guys
Can someone recommend a carry case of sorts for a Halo96
Went to the office today to use this and I'm sad
Yes it needs s dusting but it isn't so bad xD
bruh you're saying that needs a dusting... you can barely even see the metal on my keyboard ๐คฎ
I need to clean it but I've been slacking
hard
I have the LTT Backpack, but a universal sleeve sounds fine to put it in before entering it into the backpack, I'll find one that it fits in... I don't want keys pressing in while I'm carrying it around etc...
I have an annual reminder in the end of March to clean my PC and accessories, it helps. Changing the thermal paste and whatnot too!
Bought a second-hand gmmk pro with glorious panda switches. I didn't like how heavy the switches were, so I bought some durock 55g springs, lubed them, and swapped them in last night. Holy cow they feel fantastic now. Can't recommend enough if you still want a solid tactile bump but don't want a heavy switch.
Man if only I had done that sooner...
Lol
Alright I need some advice from you guys. As a programmer / Network Engineer I love low profile keyboards. I've been using this Logitech UltraX Premium Keyboard for years and I love it! But knowing that it's no longer being sold I dread for the day it will eventually stop working, and I need some advice on what to look for to get a similar experience. I recently bought this Corsair K70 Mk2 with Cherry mx speed low profile switches in the hopes for it to be a similar or even better experience than the Logitech, but with backlit switches (which is the only thing I miss on the Logitech). But I got greatly disappointed in the feeling of the switches. They trigger way too soon for the amount of travel they have imo. And I end up mistyping all the time, aswell as accidentally triggering keys while Im just resting my hand above WASD while gaming. Based on my preferences, what do you guys recommend in terms of types of switches or even whole keyboards? Numpad is a must have for me btw. Thanks!
Not exactly keyboards, but i can't get the ltt mousepad cuz its too damn expensive shipping to australia. What are some alternatives of good price to size ratio
(in the region of 1000x500mm mousepads
You're really used to rubber domes, which have a much stronger resistance at the top of the keypress than a lot of mechanical switches. You'll likely get a lot of mileage out of tactile switches instead of linear switches.
Speed switches are meant to actuate about 1mm below the top to shave milliseconds off the delay between you pressing the key and the key being actuated. You would probably prefer something with brown switches in it. That'll give you an extra mm of travel before actuation (which shouldn't be an issue because you're used to rubber domes that need to bottom out to actuate), and the tactile bump will help avoid accidental keypresses.
Thank you so much!! This was very helpful ๐
Anyone have a recommended 60%? For decades I used G710, then my friend gave me his old HHK and Anne Pro 2. I also made a Corne for a friend and have the parts for a second (but I'm not sure I'm ready for it myself). I'm primarly using the anne pro 2 now but it has very serious chatter. I would switch to the happpy hacking but I'm a programmer with a ton of keybinds that involve the arrow keys (I'm slowly migrating away but slowly is keyword here) I use alt, fn, menu, ctrl as arrows on this keyboard. I'm looking for an aalternative that doesn't chatter but stilll allows easy rebinding with minimal bloat install. Seems to be trillions of options, where to start? Money no real object here
You're correct that there are trillions of options. If you want absolute minimum bloat, though, I'd get a keyboard that has VIA firmware you can flash on it since VIA is now controlled through your browser.
Do you have any type of switch preferences?
Heavy, light, linear, tactile, clicky, loud, silent?
How open are you to doing some mods to your keyboard? Lubing switches, springs, stabilizers, tape mod, etc. The mods you do to your keyboard can easily be the difference between a good keyboard and one that actually makes you happy to type on.
As a starting point, you'll probably be quite happy with the keychron k12 pro. You could either get it barebones and figure out switches+keycaps you'll love, or just buy the whole thing assembled.
are sluggish stabs result of too mcuh bdz on wire or too much 205 of housing
i added far less than tutorial stated
but it is extremely sluggish
or could be foam over the wire
Could be too much lube on the housing or the foam on the wire. Hard to say without seeing it in person. My newest keyboard's stabs improved a lot when I replaced the glob of dielectric grease that came stock with a glob of 205.
i added half as much bdz and 205 as people on youtube i watched but still felt really sluggish
i did not cut out line for wire from foam
maybe could be this but i doubt it
i mean backspace returns well a bit sluggish but fine while enter is extremely sluggish
even if i let it go returns slowly
at first it refused to return at all was a bit crooked
You could always try shoving a dry brush in from the top to pick up excess without having to remove the stabs entirely.
But that sounds like a weird lube issue, especially if one side is noticeably different than the other.
like after lubing with 205 stem was quite sluggish in housing and then adding bdz it made wire even more sluggish
some people told me no way it is lube it is wire but others said no way it is wire it is lube
yes left if far more sluggish than right
idk if it is wire on housing or is it steam in housing
I would start by pulling the stabs out and completely cleaning everything off. When lubing the stab, try to only lube where the wire touches the stabilizer, and avoid lubing the stem specifically.
Lube in stabilizers more about preventing wire rattle than smoothing motion imo (motion should be dependent on your switch). If the housing/stem get really lubed, they aren't going to move as well.
so what i wipe it off with a cloth
i have tx ap stabs
but which one
bdz for wire or 205 for housing
if i add little it rattles
if i add more it is sluggish
I'm lazy and I use 205 for both.
I've had success putting a light amount of lube in the housing, then dipping the end of the wire in 205 and inserting.
Lubing stabs is really finicky. Your experience of a little rattling and more being sluggish is common because the Goldilocks zone between the two is tiny.
I would personally lean on a tiny bit too much lube, so that 1000 presses later when it's spread out better it'll be right.
i wasted so much money
i got 205, 105, bdz and 3023
enter does not rattle at all
it is like it is stuck almost
I have a custom keychron, i bought gateron yellows and have been using them for like 3 months, but i decided that they feel too "heavy" and it tires my hand out very quickly, what switches do you guys recommend that arent as tiring for your hands when typing on cause this feels very tiring for my hands
I'd be up for getting another keybaord. I''ve been rocking this havit one without too any issues. I want something a bit more media key support (mute, volume etc..) but still retains low profile blue switches. Any recomendations ? This is what I use https://amzn.to/3PuiPdg
You could either get different switches, or you could buy some lighter springs and swap them in.
Akko CS sakura switches feel great (even better lubed), and are notably lighter than gat yellows
awesome keyboard
Nice keycaps set
then i would recommend gateron reds they are a bit lighter than gateron yellows only difference
if they still feel too heavy i would recommend gateron whites
but gateron whites are very light
i also went from yellows to reds because they were lighter but for gaming came back to yellows since reds have a bit worse return
can anyone reccomend a good keyboard for me to upgrade to from 100 AUD?
amazing deal, terrible shipping
no like a specific model
I want to be able to walk into a store and purchase it
what are smoothest keycaps
pbtfans keycaps feel like dry paint despite costing as much as gmk
gmk shine?
- have cheetos fingers
- rub them over your keycaps
- use for a week
- profit
they do but so do all right
pbt less than abs but both do
any keycaps i buy feel like dry dusty paint
not able to find any smooth keycaps
Pbt is a lot harder to shine than abs
are keychron good
Yes
i only like keychron keycaps
because they are smooth
but they keep breaking
it is common issue due to thin plastic that fits on the stem
I want full sized blue switches on my keyboard and I want to have an 80-100% keyboard
but my budget is 130 AUD
Wrong
Their cap stems are probably out of spec
Or itโs just another Revanโข๏ธ Skill Issueโข๏ธ
are you gonna start ranting again
check posts and do some research before you talk nonsense
good list?
my friend has all the lubes and kits
differences between the m3 and the m1?
other than the dial
and i am guessing tkl?
beautiful
i wanted the white so it is something different
but they only had the black one in stock on the website
that looks so cool
are these keycaps good too?
so almost the same as yours
gateron g pro or the akko ones i picked?
at least from the videos the akko ones sound nicer
akko for sure
sweet
i have the non-pro
for the price too
maybe
you can try Pianos
the yellows are great in the end but there are other options
or cs clear
if they are on the website i am ordering from sure
i wanted everything together plus they are doing a like 20% off
cream yellows are a safe bet
so my thing went down to like ยฃ130
nice
very good price
uk site
US site has better prices
check it
yeahh but shipping
well
and i have to wait a while
USD is
kinda impatient
kess then gbp
let me check
well maybe you can save a lot
they have pretty cheap shipping + taxes
i bought from Akko and they had the board + ship/tax 6usd cheaper
then the EU site
and faster
EU site shipped from china
and US from usa
the monsgeek keeb is ยฃ1 more expensive on the US version of the website
so i don't think i am losing out on much
plus free UK shipping for me
don't have to pay for shipping
they came to similar prices
so i think for convenience sake imma orer from the uk website
akko US sends gifts with orders
oh?
like 10 free switches and stuff
do you suggest i order off their website?
but it's probably not worth it
ohhh
is too expensive
hahahaha
yeah not much difference between the two websites
just quicker shipping for me in the uk
5-15 working days
i am literally stating factually correct facts
and you are here being offended and ranting about me like you have a crush on me
it is pathetic
been a year and you still cry over me
wait how am i being offended
I couldn't care less about you lol
then why do oyu always tag me
any single time i enter chat you keep crying over me like 12yo or 13yo emo girl having crush on me
I know you'll always give me one because you dumb as hell lol
has no one breast fed you today
maybe if someone breast fed you you would grow some intelligence
i know your parents never gave you any attention
this is why you come here
sorry I was in a match
stop ranting about me!!!!
why do you seem so obsessed with me ๐ญ
im going to report you to the mods for stalking ๐ก
yeah currently
im busy gaming rn
ill come up with a good one later if im feeling it
thumbsup
i fucking love the keyboard community, we are so passionate about keyboards
so passionate it brings out elitists
At the risk of bringing it back to Keyboards, if I could interrupt you two flirting with each other for one second...
be my guest
looking for a keyboard, total noob, would like 100% size, do a little video editing so some macros would be great, some gaming etc, what would be a decent place to start for me????
Treat me like I know nothing, because I know NOTHING about keyboard excet the ones you get from like Logitech and the like!
akko and keychron have those sizes
that are affordable
and pretty decent with ability to customize
good place to start! Thanks so much, I'm sure I'll be back with more questions ;o)
you are welcome
that's just about any hobby tbh
true but imo from all communities i was a part of keyboard community was the worst
second worst was moba community and third was mbti community
assembly half done
first time skeleton casing
i feel the surface I'm typing on
update: these tactiles suck to play games on, too heavy
all tactile switches with tactility on top imo suck for gaming
too much travel after tactility
what's light, tactile and silent?
i just wanna lighter one for now, ill figure out bump spot later
lighter tactile switches are hard to game on
because you feel like you are slamming them to bottom
If you're gaming, you're basically always bottoming out on account of you want thing to happen right now and that switch needs to be pressed harder because harder press = better action.
As long as the tactile bump isn't large enough that is causes missed keypresses, you're fine.
i want lighter ones for typing mostly , but also to offset how chunkey the tactility feels
I play rhythm games, and the glorious pandas on my new keyboard were actively hurting my performance because of the heavy spring and heavy tactile bump at the top. Swapped the 67g springs for 55g springs and they feel amazing now.
would about 40 be too light
40 on pandas? Yeah, you'd run into issues with it being unable to go back up past the tactile bump.
Note that those spring weights are bottom out force. The actuation force is 45g on the 55g springs, same as a gat brown/red
i rarely bottom out and usually ready them so push them a little in before
i could not game on tactile switches except for brown switches i really liked tactility in the middle
anything under 50 would be a problem for tactile switches
my ergo switches have a problem with 55 spring
awh
i really like 45g for typing
but 60g for gaming
45g has really poor return
60g can feel a bit exhausting to type on but much better return
45g actuation is fine, but bottom out is going to be light.
The speed at which you can press keys is basically unaffected imo. I can vibrate at 16-20 presses per second on both light and heavy springs.
although heavier springs are going to tire you out faster.
I recommended them above, but I was really impressed with the akko CS sakuras. Really light, but not crazy light, and feel great even if you don't want to lube them
oh i think i had that in my corne!
They're cheap, and akko has really been pushing what budget switches can do with their newer lines.
i switched to milky yellow because different board, but i liked Sakura
also it comes in a cute box
Hell yeah they do
i switches from milky to normal
they seem to be far better lubed and less wobble, binding, deeper
they make good products i sort of regret getting keychron instead of akko
lavender switches are also very good for the price and decent lubing job
keychron makes really good products as well. Both are great for modding, as well
i agree
if i had gotten white i could had made more builds
more keycaps fit white and color builds
recently got pbtfans wob keycaps but they are far too rough
looking for really smooth keycaps
but seem not to find any
hmm, lavender is 36gf ยฑ 5gf tactile?
that looks like something i want to try
ah, not silent im guessing
lavenders are quite light
oceans are even lighter
sadly not silent
silent switches are weird because they feel like they have rubber or cotton on bottom
this is have stem is muted
they do not seem sharp
i think it feels fun, like bubble wrap
this is true
i have tested 46 ir 48 switches so far
i can tell you most start feeling the same
just different weights and a bit sound
tactiles in general or switches in general
switches in general
i personally prefer light tactile switches
with tactility in the middle
but tactile switches are also pretty similar
u4t tactile switches i probably least loud
but they are heavy
Cream Yellow Switch:
Switch Type: Silent Tactile Switch
Pin:5 Pin
Operating Force: 45 gf/cN
End Operating Force: 50 gf/cN MAX
Pre Travel: 2.00mm
Total Travel: 3.30mm
found this one, looks like it fills most my ideas of what i think like
does that pre travel mean its bump is a bit later?
ive always wanted to try creams
I daily drive alpacas, and my secondary keyboard uses silent alpacas. I can tell the difference between the two, but if you take into account why I have the silent alpacas (to be used when I don't want to piss off my roommate when they are trying to sleep), the difference in feel really doesn't bother me
If you're considering silent switches, definitely try a few out (as with all switches), and consider modification (also a recommendation for most switches)
Although on a personal note, the difference between lubed/filmed silent alpacas and stock silent alpacas is only noticeable if you really listen. Stock is already really quiet
wdym by worse return?
Pre-travel is the distance before the switch actuates.
good place to shop for keycaps?
Is fantech a good brand
budget?
115$
well lighter the spring is lighter the return is
if you are typing this does not really matter but if you are gaming when you need to spam a button you need better return
top out is faster and heavier
with tactile switches you need enough return to surpass tactile bump
They are wire type stabilizers
there should be a little clip inside the keycap that they slot in
don't forget to lube them as they can turn rattly if not
Where are my Copre boys at
Is this keyboard useable? Iโm not too bothered about sound I just donโt want it to break until I have enough for an Epomaker Skyloong GK75. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08GM1Q1GM?
Would it be safer to get a Logitech K120?
Just buy a typewriter
i believe keychron or akko would come you cheaper
and offer you more
logitech is far overpriced
you could get redragon or rk65 if you are really on budget
Yeah keychron is famous for making ยฃ10 keyboards ๐ฟ
keychron and akko literally make best budget custom keyboards
when Iโve saved up enough Iโll look at the V1
i am happy with my keychron v3
took a while, but i just finished lubing my switches.
sounds and feels nice, but it's tedious
I bet you feel more relieved than anything.
Just wait until you get your second set of switches, pull them all apart, and then the memories of how much work is ahead of you come flooding back
The work is done. Just boot up monkeytype and type the tedium away
what the difference between cherry mx brown and gateron red
completely different
brown switches are always light tactile switches with gateron or cherry
while red are linear switches
whats tactile and linear
linear switches are smooth from top to bottom no click nor tactility while tactile switches have a tactile bump in the middle like what you would call a click but no sound
cool
arso
not for me
๐ณ Whereโs the spacebar
@median slate
Nah, thatโs my tab button, thatโs ainโt no spacebar
Far too small
No, I shouldnโt be shaming here, thatโs average
What do people think of the Microsoft 600?
I actually like them, pretty decent for the price. In my highschool computer rooms most computers had Logitech k120s, but there was a couple that had 600s and they were so much better
I only know stupid expensive custom keyboards
go buy it then
why is the 23u so god damn expensive
what would be a decently priced good keyboard?
i am usually on membrane - mechanical and all experience i had personally i prefer them a lot to something like fully mechanical keyboards
Realforce
not really a fully mechanical keyboard technically
Thatโs beside the point
look C L E A N
i wish i had such a keyboard
yes
Hi guys just got RK84 and wireless not working
broken
are razer green lazer switches good
I'm not a fan of how they sound
granted I don't like tactile switches in the first place
can i fix it
is the wooting worth it?
Great question, it seems awesome, has great features, but it is expensive, and doesn't sound great if that matters to you, but really it depends on how competitively you are playing/how much you're willing to spend on a keyboard
And the steel series Apex pro line have rapid trigger and the ability to double bind key presses
And are on sale on amazon, so similar features for a lower cost(while on sale), and are in stock so no wait
Does anyone have experience working with the ACR Pro 75 kit from akko? Mine is arriving tomorrow and I was curious if anyone had any recommendations for mods or knows of any tips and tricks when working on it? This will be my first keyboard build and Iโm really excited but I donโt want to mess anything up
i have with pro 68
tune the stabs, put in the extra foam and depends what switches you got, the cs clear arent the most popiest
my corsair k65 mini has started chattering on some of the keys .....
is there anything one could do about that except replace the switches which tbc i am willing to do if they fail but i'd also like some preventative measures
Wdym by tune the stabilizers?
hello guys, anyone have tips for very cheap custom keyboard? (trying to get into that stuff)
I'm in Taiwan and I require recommendations on affordable, Taiwanese made mech keeb.
Preferably local brands so I won't pay 100% tax on Keychron.
Or just default to Ducky One 2 TKL?
depends on what keycaps youre going after
amazon has some half-decent PBT sets
or you can go GMKs from various websites (omnitype, KBDfans, etc)
and of course there are a million different other options
wdym by cheap?
Cheap for keyboards is like $5, Cheap for custom could be $100 for the board
my favorite "entry level" board is the Nk65 EE
I use it as my secondary keyboard (primary is mode envoy I got 1-ish months ago)
Are you looking for a complete kit? (Meaning it has board, switches, and caps)
If so, you could also look at the gmmk from glorious
my first "custom" board was the gmmk 1 60%
And of course there is always the Rk61. Not the greatest quality, but imo, not bad for its price
Also heard decent views of the Halo65
get a tes68 and then throw it away for a realforce in a year
Whatโs the fastest keyboard money could buy
brain-computer interface system
sets you back around 10k
possibly more if youre upgrading
anyone ๐
dm me
look out for acrylic case crack
Found a decent case for my Halo96
nice
broken
the seller does not return
Fack AliExpress
