gotta love that corsair grade quality control
yikes
I broke the space bar
also why tf is your backspace upside down
That is the only way it fit
odd
under 50 gbp
anyone know what the difference is between keychron's different product series (v, k, q)?
V series is qmk/via compatible and tray mount with a plastic case. Q series is also qmk/via compatible with gasket mount in an aluminum case. K series is wireless and like half low profile half normal depending on the number
Q series is the “premium” level of keychron
is there any software for the keycool km84 plus?

Yippee
What's that in freedom currency?
Google has a currency converter for a reason lol
$63-$64 freedom units
That’s about 16 Big Macs
Try like 10
Like $6
how good of a deal would this be?
Is Keychron Q1 Pro QMK/VIA Wireless Custom Mechanical Keyboard any good ?
anyone knows a white switch budget keyboard? would prefer to not have numpad and have function keys
I am not a serious person
I like this conversion
Yes
I would buy the TKD Cycle 7 if you can wait a bit. Same kind of layout just a little wider
I am not either
that is kind of average pricing maybe alittle lower than normal for Z15
used to see them for ~40 usd
id say its a decent gaming keyboard for that price since its hotswap and has fairly low input lag
it has kind of cheap construction though
have to be careful when swapping switches and the diodes on the pcb are super tiny cheap ones that you need a magnifying glass to see almost
just makes repairing more difficult if you do abuse it or it breaks when swapping parts
anyone know some decent switch lube kits?
either way a z15 is 10x better than any shitty redragon board
or other clone brand ive tried around that price range
since its standard kailh hotswap sockets and accepts most normal cherry style switches
and it does not have severe issues with input delay like most redragon models
not sure why redragon thinks they can charge 40-50+ for their keyboards now when they are just as bad as ever
only better than most membrane
same goes for GMMK from glorious their non pro model
the TKL and 100% layout ones
really bad overpriced keyboards
only a slight step up from redragon and clones
kits meaning like a combo puller, brush, opener , stem holder ?
yes, those
they all pretty much do the same thing
i bought generic from aliexpress and they work great
only thing id invest more is te lube itself
and the switch opener
good to know, thanks!
but there are more expensive sets
just depends on how much you think you will use it
if its for one keyboard or for a future x number of boards
one keyboard, probably
yeah just buy a cheap set from ali
ok
Hey everyone, am looking for an entry level keyboard. Thinking of this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMPX48MN/ref=syn_sd_onsite_desktop_0?ie=UTF8&pd_rd_plhdr=t&th=1
thoughts?
Epomaker is an awful company, ethically, how they run their business, shorting partners of their royalties. Their keyboards follow their business, just straight awful.
That being said, take a look at Keychron since their v series will most likely fit your budget
akko or yunzii shouldnt be too bad ?
but keyboard cheap though....
So are Keychron and akko and are loads better
yeah I can imagine D:
I love my sk96s, except the software is absolutely garbage
Like beyond difficult to set up just about anything.
It also has just about every mod in it that you can do to make a 'cheap' mechanical keyboard good
Hmm, that sucks to hear about the company, I will check out keychron. thx
I want a corsair keyboard, how do i choose between all of them
probably an optical model because their models with cherry MX switches are dogshit and have severe key chatter due to poor debounce/bad QC
only keyboard ive experienced chatter within 1 hour of opening the box was a corsair
return it to the store and get another one
also chatters but on different keys
Update within 30 mins of requesting a support ticket they offered to refund it
gk 61 or g915 tkl
Epomaker rt100 thoughts?
Keyboard recommendations mid to high-end
Realforce
Budget
Cause mid-high is like $250+ to me
is there any way to check charge of my wireless kb connected through 2.4ghz dongle?
I'm on windows 11
And the kb is keycool km84 plus
I'm facing another problem
Sometimes bluetooth and wired mode works perfectly
and sometimes 2.4ghz mode and wired mode works perfectly
:))
So, I just took my first steps into the world of custom keyboards (Ordered Keychron Q6, Gateron Milky Yellow Pro switches), and I was wondering what you guys' opinion is on further tweaking stabilizers and switches, compared to the 'out of the box' sound/feel of those components
modding
is a whole new level
once you got a board there are dozens of mods available
even a 20$ board can sound great with mods
Hi
hey
need a good preferably black shine trough pbt key caps set
What's a good budget keyboard (100% not bulky) and mouse
Is the msi vigor gk30 combo any good
Logitech Prodigy G213 rating please?
yes
If you're familiar with these specific parts - what would you recommend I do?
lube switch bottom housing and stem rails/legs with a grease lube, spring swap if u want, bag lube springs with oil lube
for stabs lube stem and housing with grease, balance the wire, and use hella thicc grease on the ends of the wire
The page for the switches did say they come factory pre-lubed - is that not sufficient?
i also believe that the k6 uses plate mount stabs so u can put like a little piece of a bandaid where the stabs click in so they dont move aroudn as much
not at all
factory lube is inconsistent as hell, practically non-existent and just doesnt use good lube
Is that something that has to be cleaned off if I decide to redo it then?
i mean i never do
usually they only have a tiny bit it doesnt really make a difference if you do or not
is this your first time modding switches and stabs
Gateron milky yellow pros should be ok stock but you can always lube them
so far I have only had corsair keyboards
Lubing stabs and switches is easy
true but properly modding stabs isnt
Wire balancing isn’t that hard
@dire ice just watch a youtube tutorial on lubing switches and stabs, and especially wire balancing
And you might not have to do it anyways
with stock keychron stabs you prob will
Alexotos has great guides for switches and stabs
i'll keep that one in mind, thanks
@glossy sandal endgame
Does anyone know of a wireless 75% mech keyboard with hot swap below 120USD?
@sonic cape hey im getting different keyboard
its a royal kludge rk61 ripoff
"magic refiner mk25" for £13 less
im getting that
red switches also 😏
Does anyone have experience with the tecware veil 80? I think some people have said it's a rebadged akko th80?
keyboards before PCBs existed /s
heres the front of them big boys
bro bought the worst hifi speakers possible 😭
Isoseption
damn
rip off
of a cheap ass board haha
got a hella good deal on them
300 shipped from canada with an smsl sa300
$600 speakers with a $120 amp plus like 80 in shipping costs for 300
mines on my alex drawer slightly to the right of the pic
did you use one of those mounts that you drill into the bottom of your desk
and it holds the pc up
anyone knows what the difference between tkc banana split and mmd princess ?
they look identical
the banana split is yummy
Mmd's will have a lighter weight spring, different color stem, and are a PC top and a nylon bottom, where banana splits are full nylon
isnt this identical ?
Hi, I'm looking for a keyboard that's a short black mechanical keyboard, that has RGB, works both wired and wireless (if that's even possible), and no number pad. Not too expensive either. If you have any suggestions you think I might like, I am open to anything. Thanks.
Color wise ya, material and spring weight wise no
I was looking at the tactile mmd for the different color stem, myb
the akko ones?
yeah this looks great! will defo look into them. i'm not the best at finding what I want, theres so much advertising and fear of buying the wrong thing. so feel free to shoot some more ideas if you got any. currently running on a macbook which doesn't have many ports (which is why wireless helps) but will transfer over to more of a gaming setup in the future so ones that are good for both purposes. thanks! 💓
Someone pick something $35 or under for me to buy https://drop.com/mechanical-keyboards/drops/lowest?
ay thats not bad actually
Just save up for a good keyboard
nah i have $30 off
i have a good keeb already
ii have an ikki68
So why get one that's worse
looking more for like a desk mat or something
Oh
im not looking for a keeb
You aren't looking for a keyboard
Ya my b gimme 2 min
Dwarf Factory MechWhale
Desk mat is hot
nah my setup is plants wood and black and white so that wouldnt really match
You got a pic
Of the whole desk
I need a recommandation for à 30 dollar keyboard that is cheap, and no i cant save up to get a better one, any recomendation ?
rk61
which store you buying rrom?
well
Alr let me look those up
ck62
All of those are 30 euro so which one is the best?
anyone got a link for 2048 keycaps clones from Ali?
had it in my cart but erased it by accident
Alr
rkg68 with simple mods ?
Ca't find it on amazon
where u from, looks like viet
ohhh is unavailible
will u do with second hand, used keyboards ?
No
so no used stuff right ?
Just spent 6 hours desolderding a broken keyboard just to salvage the switches, and I don't even know if they're any good
Anyone have experience with akko pink switches?
Nope if possible
Yeah, there were a bunch of pins which were bent from factory
Plus just the fact this is my first time desoldering a keyboard
I'm a bit surprised to be honest, i wasn't expecting bent pins from an AKKO keyboard, but I guess it can happen to anyone
Its a shame though, only the A key was broken, but that's a pretty important key
from my experience akko reds and jelly blacks i used were much more easily bendable
then say kailh or gateron
i hurt my finger trying to bend a gateron pin
but a akko jelly black pin was like butter
Yeah I managed to bend most of them back using my fingers
Once they were out of the board that is, when they were still in the pcb it was really tough
I'm trying to decide if I wanna get a barebones kit and switches or if I wanna buy a prebuilt keyboard and mod that until I'm happy, only issue being money
Pretty sure I'm gonna go for a 75% keyb, but I would like it to have wireless connectivity, and im honestly not very sure which to go for
Also im not sure what keycaps I would want. most of the prebuilts I found for sale used here are dye sublimation, but I need the shine through to see what keys im pressing coz im not that good at typing without looking
Dang, I've never used a good shine through set
Why not just use BoW or WoB, you can read the legends easy as long as you aren't in pitch black
Sorry, im quite new to keyboards, what does BoW and WoB mean?
Black on white?
Yes
Ah, well i look really dumb now LOL
I'm currently using a hyperx alloy elite rgb which has shine through keycaps. Unfortunately with a combination of a black desk, black deskmat, black keyboard and bright lights above my monitor, it can be hard to read keyboard legends without shine through
That's basically the only reason why I want shine through, if it wasn't for that, I'd probably get a nice dye sublimated set
So as a standard, shine through keycaps are going to be some of the lowest grade keycaps that you can buy. A lot of enthusiast/hobbyist don't care for them because of their poor quality, and the fact that the only notable people that make shine through key caps are OEM gaming keyboards.
So im pretty out of luck then, it seems?
No you could still use them, I personally would not though. It's up to you if you want to sacrifice key feel and quality for ease of use. At the end of the day it's all preference
Well, if it makes the typing experience quieter I might got for a better set of keycaps and sacrifice the legibility in darkness
Im trying to decide between Boba U4s, Haimu silent linears and WS silent linears for switches, but im open to other suggestions, especially since the boba's in particular are so expensive for me
If you're looking for something that's quieter, keycaps play a very small role in the overall volume level. That's going to be more reliant on the type of switches that you have, and a residents of your keyboard. Resonance can be altered and adjusted using keyboard foam, and silent switches with silicone dampeners in them the bull solve the problem of a loud typing experience.
Also, just be aware that when you're using silent switches they are typically going to have a more mushy feel as opposed to a standard linear, tactile or clicky. That's just the nature of the switch, there's not a lot that you can do about it
Yeah, although im not too sure just how drastic the difference is going to be coming from cherry browns
I read that technically I could fill my spacebar with hot glue or tape to remove some of the resonance from it, do you have any experience with that?
It depends, if you treat cherry browns like a tactile switch, almost anything is going to be more tactile feeling than those. If you treat cherry browns like a linear switch with a small bump, it's going to be a bit subpar to your higher end offerings
I wouldn't feel my spacebar with anything to be honest with you. Bigger caps like that want higher quality plastic, and thicker walls. That's one of the downsides of the shine through key caps, is that they're so thin that on the larger cops they sound very hollow
I've got a really cheap, novelty spacebar that i bought because it looked nice but it rings every time i hit it, even when i tape modded my keyb
drat, ok so better keycaps it is then
Novelty spacebar as in like, resin key cap? Or something that's just kind of like, painted
painted, it was cheap, i was broke and i wanted something, anything, to make my keyboard a bit different
Personally, if you're looking to get into keyboards, it sounds like your ideal setup would be something along the lines of the u4's and a nice nPBT set from Cannonkeys
My only point of reference for keyboards has been this hyperx keyboard with cherry browns, and a razer blackwidow with clicky greens which I absolutely hated
They were so loud, and Im a pretty heavy typer, so with both those factors my friends called me typewriter coz when I used my keyb on call nobody could hear anything else
My opinion, easiest way to figure out what switch type you would like, is to go into a Best Buy or micro center and just type on the keyboards that are there. Ignore the sound for a second, but just see if you like the tactile bump, or a nice straight up and down
Unfortunately I'm not in the US, I'm in Malaysia, but I've tried going to stores to try some keyboards
Also another thing that you should take into consideration, the keyboard itself also plays a very large part in how the keyboard sounds. If you've got thin, shitty plastic, it's going to be much louder than something made of solid aluminum
The extra unfortunate thing is that loud, clicky keys are still pretty popular here, so people tend to look at me weird and recommend rubber dome when i ask for a silent keyboard
Oh yeah I've read about that. I'm not too sure what the materials of the keyboards im looking at is made of though, I'll have to double check
I imagine the fact that under my keyboard is a metal, magnetic deskmat with a thin layer of plastic doesn't help when it comes to dampening the sound either
Here's a great comparison of how keyboard cases make things sound a lot different. Those are the same switches, different keyboards
Same plate material, both have a zero foam in them
oh yeah, to my ear these are a lot more what im looking for compared to the other
To be fair, neon switches are very loud no matter what you put them in, let me see if I have a non-silent switch that is super quiet
Is that with aluminium or plastic?
Aluminum, both
oh, interesting, something else is at play then
Classic will overall give a deeper sound signature to keyboards depending on the thickness, whereas aluminum will give a higher pitch sound signature. That's where the common terms clack and thock
Clack being high, thock being low
I see
Creamy means fill the keyboard with foam
Whoever came up with these stupid terms deserves the death penalty
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sODFe8OnIdc so something like this would be considered thocky?
We've got the latest WS switches from Wuque Studio! Enter the WS Silent Linear and WS Silent Tactile, which are...very silent, as you can (sort of) hear in the video above.
Website: https://nextrift.com
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nextrift
Twitter: https://twitter.com/nextrift
Keyboard: Ikki68 Aurora
Plate material: FR4
Keycaps: KBDfans...
or is that creamy?
Switches in general are typically not what you would consider, what you would consider is the overall bill itself. You need to look at the case material, the plate material, the switches, and the key caps for your overall sound signature. Although switches do have some form of sound signature, it's almost negligible
I see, ok that makes sense
What you would want to look at is the material choices for the switches. A full POM switch will have a higher sound signature then something with a POM stem and a nylon body
wow, ok so this goes way above what I thought i would have to know to get a silent keyboard. i thought I'd have to find a body I like and some switches to go with it, but I guess im sorely mistaken
It depends on how far you want to go. If you get something with a plastic/acrylic case, a set of thicker wall keycaps, and a silent switch, that's all you need to worry about. Once you start getting into enthusiast level keyboard building, that's when material plays a significantly higher role in how you build a keyboard
I think I'll leave the enthusiast stuff for when I have more money and a better understanding of the components that make up a keyboard
But thank you so much for your advice!
No problem, if you're looking at building a keyboard now, I would highly suggest looking into what AKKO offers, their ACR Pro series of keyboard kits are pretty cheap, and they have an amazing sound signature
I personally use one at work
Quick question though, I was looking at this "budget" keyboard, the Tecware Veil 80, which apparently is just a rebranded EPOMAKER TH80. Do you know anything about either keyboard?
It comes with Gateron Yellow as one of the stock options, but I'll probably replace them with the WS silent linears or some other switch
I would stay far away from anything Epomaker offers,
Really? Ok, noted. Any specific reason why?
Their keyboards are pretty bad, their ethical standing on partners is bad, overall they are just not a great company
And why but an epomaker when Keychron exists
Well, the Keychron I was looking at was more expensive than the Epomaker if I wanted to have wireless connectivity, which I admit is a want but not a need
I believe the Keychron I was looking at was the Q1 pro
It's probably $10USD more I'm assuming, but also take into consideration the build quality is significantly higher
Oh wait q1 pro
Yeah, its about double the price compared to the Epomaker
here, at least, probably not in USD
Come sg and try at mecha
What makes it worse is that I usually buy computer stuff used, the only Q1 pro I can find used has gateron blues in them, and I just refuse to touch any clicky keys anymore
Oh I mean we have a Mecha here, and that is one of the options, its just Im looking for cheaper alternatives if possible
if I have no other choice then I'll just have to spend more time saving up money to get a keyboard I like and my friends will have to put up with me being a typewriter for a bit longer
Oh I had no idea mecha opened a second outlet in my lol
Try to limit how much you spend on keyboards
It’s not worth it
yeah its not too far from where I study, so its not that bad. Just the money is an issue lol
Especially when you have to save to buy one you want
Yeah, I'd like to keep under RM500, but its starting to look like I'll either have to give up some of my creature comforts or have to find more money somewhere
Get a Chinese friend to help you order on taobao
Any Chinese branded product will always be much cheaper on taobao
You don’t at all
I can’t read Chinese for shit and I can use it just fine
Instead of Keychron you could get the monsgeek m1 from there as well
Barebones is 75sgd
I wouldn’t use it personally but it’s good for the price
I can not stand 75% layouts, it's a less useful TKL, and a more cumbersome 65%
I just saw a video about a monsgeek keyboard today, but I can't remember which one it was
im using a full size atm, and to me I think a 65% would be too small because I wouldn't have the fn row, so it was between a TKL and 75%
Oh monsgeek has QMK/VIA support? that's a huge plus
Ya Monsgeek is solid
hey guys
im typing on my new keybaord right now
i love this keyboard
my first ever mechanical keyboard
damn its so loud
Magic Refiner MK25
i cut my finger on an ink pin once
those and bobas have the hardest pins that i’ve worked with

Are white shark keyboards any good? Am needing a new one since my roccat 120 aimo is dying
I would never go cheaper than Keychron/Akko
Strictly because below that your rolling the QC dice
What's your budget?
Akko and Keychron got their shit down, QC not really an issue
like 300 ish
300eur?
oh my god i found someone selling a monsgeek m1w fully modded for 80USD
I hope to god it isn't a scam
Sure the switches aren't the ones I want, but for that price im an idiot for complaining, if its legit
those kinds of perpetually in-stock boards usually don't retain value second market coz they so plentiful
so that price doesn't seem too off
just remember to be safe when paying
@deep forum
Ah I see, thanks for the info
im planning to pay within the app so hopefully it all goes well
There's some buyers protection at least, even if im going to be picking up the keyboard in person
The fact that the wireless version doesn't support qmk/via kinda sucks but what to do
Yee
I'd hate to be 'that guy' but whats the best budget keyboard for $50 - $100
Rn I'm using a "Drop ENTR" which is fine ig but its not very visually nice as its all black and uses yellow switches
prolly one of the akko or keychron V series ones
The Akko ones with via or keychron v series yeah
I have a pretty normal usb c cable and want to use an aviator coiled cable for my setup but I am confused whether I should diy the entire thing or purchase one ?
Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! US $19.36 68% Off | Z shape Paracord and PET Double sleeved USB to Type-C Micro Mini-USB Coiled cable for Mechanical Keyboard With GX16 Aviator.
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EIZX5Xv
just buy it from here, select colors, purchase and message the seller
it's cheap, pretty good quality
they can be really annoying to make if you don't have the proper tools
aside from all the materials to make the cable (cable, aviator connectors, properly sized paracord, other sleeving), you'll need some sort of clamp or helping hands to keep everything in place, maybe a magnifiying glass if you need that to assist with fine soldering work, some sort of dowel to wrap the cable around, clamps to keep the coil in place, and some way to apply heat
mine is literally an rk61 clone lmao
magic refiner mk25
£30 😎
hi
bro
whaet
i don't mean to be rude
yes
but that's no flex
i get that
i show my old keyboard*
this was my old keyboard lmao
i found it at my grandparens house like 3 months ago so i took it lmao
ok
that's an upgrade
for sure
where you from?
because maybe there are better deals locally
for 300eur
you can find a lot man
what size you want? full size? tkl? or smaller
you want something niche ? or just a plain old gaming board
gaming boards are not classy at all
Basically i have issues choosing
they are polar opposites
so its a oxymoron then
Build a bakeneko65
bakeneo65, monsgeek m1,m3 , tofu65
Not the tofu, tofujr maybe
yo question about akkos, I found one that looks good, but it says cream blue pro switch which I dont know what that entails
if anyone can clarify what the switches are^
Check on the akko website for switches descriptions
Thermin usually has reviews for every switch
alright i see what they are now, but question, can they / do they really make a difference in terms of gaming performance? I see some saying online that it doesn't and it's fully up to preference + it being blue shouldn't matter 'aestically' since it's underneath the keycap.
at the end of the day i just want a good looking black and white wired/wireless keyboard for both gaming and not lol
no
That blue housing might lightly tint the color of the rgb if you care about rgb in the first place
New caps they’re so pretty!
but I can replace them eventually if I really would like to?
If the keyboard is hotswap yes...
If it's not you can also replace them but you'll have to desolder the old ones and solder the new ones
Yeah it is
alright cool

i dont know alot about keyboards but i wanna get a 75% for i'd say under 100$, is the keychron v1 a good option or is there better? its pretty much the only keyboard company i've heard of beyond gamer keyboards like razer and corsair etc etc
if it changes anything i do game dev, digital art, and gaming
i've never built a keyboard but i'd be down to learn it if it doesn't end up being more expensive than just getting a pre-assembled one
The V1 is a good option. You may be able to find an offering from Akko for under $100 but it's going to be a bit of a hit or miss
all preference
iso!
What's a good keyboard that is really comfortable to use
halo75
I agree thx for the suggestion
Ohk I will check it out
Do I have to maintain it every few minutes?
I would preferably want something where I don't service it until it breaks
Also I'm the type of guy that types essays in 1 minute
why would you?
it's a great board with tri mode functionaloty
halo75 for a small one or halo96 for a full size
Alr
don't want a mushy keyboard to cause you to hit the wrong target
"sir we hit the school"
"that fucking keyboard, dammit"
´´ how do we calculate appropriate colateral damage ?´´
´´ depends on how much you lubed your switches´´
maybe this is why Russia keeps hitting civilian buildings /s
So I have been looking at purchasing a keyboard for my PC set up. I have been recommended to get something from keychron and I was looking at the Keychron Q1 Pro QMK/VIA Wireless Custom Mechanical Keyboard. Is that a good choice ?
Yes
Thanks
But there are other choices
Such as
Your budget?
Around same price range as Q1
Australia 🇦🇺
Damn
Ok so there are some I'd suggest personally , Nuphy Halo75, Q1 Pro, Iqunix OG80, akko acr pro 75
Or if you want to build one yourself the choices are endless
@sharp elk
Okay
customkbd, switchkeys and daily clack is the biggest brands here if you need keyboard stuff
https://youtu.be/qbBtyUEwD6E this was recommended to me, or the monsgeek m3, anything in-between the 2 in size but still good quality?
This is a custom keyboard with such insane value for it's price point of $139.99. The Cycle7 comes with a lot in the box, stabilizers, a case, a beautiful coating, USB cable multiple gaskets and some foams. It's WILD how much is in here.
This is honestly a must have. There is very little that even competes with this at it's price point. In fact...
Cycle 7 for sure
Oh I misread your question
All good
So you want a 75 or 65?
Probably a 75, but I’d settle if the price for quality isn’t there
Prob the Monsgeek M1 then
I would really consider the cycle 7 tho. You’re getting a ton of value, even if it comes at the cost of the horizontal space
I’m on a 60% rn, and I’m used to it, just kinda miss the f1-f12
I’d be fine without tbh. If cycle7 is really that worth it, I’m fine with that
Ye
I don’t have a problem with space
So I just buy a board if it’s cool lol
I’ve heard of a lot of people doing that
I’m a linear guy so mx for me
I wonder what happened to everything but mx being fomo
Just took out a mortgage
Lol
I used the gift cards so I saved a bit
Been waiting a while for it tho so had to
Oh for sure
Yeah I think around there
It’ll be a lot of people’s last board from what I’m hearing
Sick
Bro actually did it
Any pics?
Ye I’ve heard
Noice
My topre experienced was tainted bc my first board with it was an 87u with bke heavy domes lol
Stock topre was crazy light when I finally tried it
Ye I don’t mind stock
Is there a wrist rest for cycle 7?
Yep
Hey! I am looking for a silent mechanical keyboard that doesnt feel bad when pressing (doesn’t have to be too silent) would appreciate if the price is below $100
keychron ?
Thanks
in my country price isnt really affordable for me (i live in turkey) also sorry for the late reply. was cleaning my keyboard. anyway thanks for trying to help! (really liked keychron but unfortunately the price is above $100.)
so i would say like below 3000 tl
Im not sure there are any sellers in turkey
Is outemu good
no
Have u heard of jwicks
I have one, no
I spilled ramen on it, and taking it apart with the included switch puller was the biggest pain in the ass
Isopropyl alcohol 92% and a few hours to dry with some reapplying and it works fine still
“Fine”
Only when Gazzew is in front of it
Welp Nuphy confirmed they don't have the parts to make new Field75s and not sure when they will, so I'm going with a Halo96
Was supposed to have new stock this past weekend so I emailed them and they apologized ><
nice
better choice haha 😄
LOL
I should have one before LTX 24
for the field75 to bring in the field with me ;p
oh wow
i need help
im ordering mine on payday thursday
tempted to get a teeeny keyboard too with it
for my 5 raspberry pis
xD
you have keyboards i have Pis
I have a few boards but these new ones will elevate me
and ill either sell or giveaway the old ones
Elevate!
XDD
Gonna get the Halo96 on Amazon US since the customs fees are added in to the price
May cost me 10$ more unless I get some of the fees refunded
bigger pain if it's UPS or FedEx who charges fees on top of the custom fees =/
oh worse, it's DHL, definitely using Amazon 😆
Nuphy boards kinda mid ngl
Really nice review I appreciate your reasoning behind it
++
You should make YouTube reviews lol
They are expensive for what they are. The perks of being wireless doesn't justify the cheap plastic feeling. You can get the same performance if not better from a Keychron with swapped switches and a few mods. Hell at the price of a 96 you can start getting into the custom territory and building a bakeneko
Shoulda led with that 😉
But it doesn't spark curiosity, it would have been left in the dust by following conversations
not really, i was ready to ignore you 😄
"kinda mid ngl" is very young talk for me lol
im an old boomer
I figured the majority of people are young in here and inexperienced, I have, how they say, "relate to the younger generation"
It'll be my first "custom style" board, I want a numpad, wireless or not doesn't matter it's my main desktop pc, I do want a small 65% wireless later on
not buying anything until pay day thursday anyway
It's there a particular reason for having the numpad? Like do you plan on using it extensively or you just like the aesthetic
What's stopping you from getting a separate numpad then that you can use in a more ergonomic major
nothing honestly
just used to my old corsair strafe
i recently spilled wine and murdered the numpad :3
so time for something new
Oh dear, that kinda sucks. Why the nuphy then?
field75 caught my eye in how it looks, so was looking into their stuff
and someone recommended the halo
Have you looked into the Keychron V5
have not dug into them yet
It's an 1800 layout, so it's a bit more compact
not from what ive read
im not closed to looking at other brands though 😉
theres way too many keyboards out there 😄
Iqunix are great too but
i like the prices of the keychrons lol
NuPhy is just a new fresh look
is it cheaper to assemble yourself?
No
No
Not that's worth it
ah ok
if you wanna tinker with it
i dont mind saving$ for other tech haha
you can get a cheap kit but 130 kit isnt going to be as good as a prebuilt
most probably
$130 will get you a bakeneko, you still need the another $60 keycaps, switches, and stabs if you don't want use the ones it comes with
whats nice about keychron is i can get it in canada on amazon XD
yeah
nuphy only has the air in canada
Everyone has a keychron, because it's a good board. It's not a coincidence that a lot of people have them because they aren't fantastic
that'll save me a good 30 USD in customs fees
im getting a field75 for LTX 2024 regardless lol
prebuilt tofus or keychrons
Epomaker is a horrible company
They are
but sometimes they have quality boards for a good price
but most of their stuff is shit
Akko on the other hand, great boards
See I hadn't had great experiences with yunzii but that could just be me
I need to sell some keyboard gd
so I'm looking into a 75 + a separate numpad
Monsgeek M1
Just take a halo96 or a keychron
LoL
my problem with nuphy is the goddamn cost of importing it
I'll show you my recent build if you show me yours
ok one sec
amazon is about 50$ USD cheaper than using the 10$ discount on nuphy site due to DHL
i did the math
DHL is rough sometimes
sorry for shit lighting
it'll cost me 25$ in brokerage + around 20-25 in tax
cause im in quebec with craptax
ah oue dure la vie
XD
i was in canada last year
aahh also purple
every monsgeek ive seen on discord has been a purple ish variant
This ain't a monsgeek
Just a recent build
i prefer 1 screen without a bar in the center lol
Ignore my mess
34 ultrawide ?
CHG*
ignore the keebs 😄
i also have a reddragon kb somewhere
was my tetris keyboard
i win at tetr.io cant complain
Reddragon is such a hot or miss
i dont like it
Hit
it sounds bad
Some of their older stuff I like, their newer stuff, they are trying too hard
there was guy here last week
my mouse is a reddragon it's actually great
was a gift xD
my budget is ~200 usd
That's a yikes, I know nothing worth having under brands like akko and Keychron
You'll like the nuphy if you don't plan on midding it
but i just love the ghostbar
Modding a keyboard
i dont plan on modding it
such a beautiful sound 😄
Nuphy will be fine
Fuck it, rubber domes then lol
lol
I'm playin
my modding and tinkering reserved for the steam deck and my raspberry pi collection
That aligned f-row had always looked terrible to me
Big brain play, GMK BoW on a halo
Ya ik but I'm saying, big brain play would be putting bow on there
oh yeah
RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE
the wine glued numpad XD
that sounds nice
kang white v3
Here's a rebuilt Charon
should feel bad for my old roommate during the pandemic
damn the rattle on the spacebar
sounds like hitting a metal rod with a fork
just buy the halo
and be done with it 😄
Fuck it, buy a G80-1800

Vintage though
old
Vint blacks, mmmmm
I just saw a video this morning
What is it
😮
It's just a bow with some custom legends
yeah but imagine going to the army and being a keyboard nerd
and you get this beauty to control a 50mil usd drone
Id intentionally crash it
why ? 😄
Should I get this keyboard over the Redragon K630? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/nr8H99/reviews/asus-rog-claymore-core-wired-gaming-keyboard-90mp00i1-b0ua00
💀
Cause it would be Great meme
a guy said this morning
that russian pilots and missile operator cant hit anything in ukraine
cuz they have membrane keyboards
or outemu switches
Both are not great options
Get a keychron
And they are how much?
They got that Dell prebuilt keyboard
$60-$180 depending on your budget
I have £40 😢
Big yikes brother, idk if I can help you, maybe @sonic cape can
rk61 ?
He wants full size
No i dont
What do you want then
Redragon K630 is 60%
Rk61 brother, may you have "fun"
Yeah but 40gbo
if you would have asked a week ago
there was an akko acr pro 68 for 45eur
WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME
I would have picked it up for my wife
HEHEHEHE
Fuck
60eur shipped
Tbf I don't need any more keyboards
Brown
if you can Red but if not brown
Brown is basically linear
Okay
Upstate NY
damn
not far from me
Are you sure it’s still better than a red switch K630?
yeah in the USA the acr pro 68 was 3usd cheaper then in EU
Ayo, wanna grab drink?
Okay
where u at ?
is that Canada ?
yep
Quebec, oh man
buffalo is like canada ish
Upstate NY is anything an hour north or more from the city
buffalo is just the other side of the falls
I was in Canada last year for like 6 months
and visited the big 4 cities in the east
nice country but too hot
in summer
Montreal and Quebec city in summer was crazy
humid afd
Toronto even being next to the lake was ok
but i loved montreal
like really, all the other cities were meh but Montreal was beautiful
that's cause there's a bylaw, where you can't build a building taller than the mountain
so downtown looks nice
not a bunch of giant walls in your face lol
Ya we do, everything needs to be to code
i lived in france for a few years so montreal almost felt like home
oh nice
so you mustve hung out in the Plateau
😛
even stayed there with a bunch of roommates 😄
Plateau ?
its the more france french area
You are restricted in you select jurisdiction based on your zoning analysis, and what district you fall into
a lot of places to roommate with someone else from france
I just visited toronto, ottaw, montreal and quebec
Whether it be residential, business, commercial, special, mixed use
a lot of cafes there, not many tim hortons aha
and then stayed in halifax for 5 months
oh nice
yeah but new york city is just crazy with high rise buildings
ive not been to too many places around my own country yet
vancouver, ottawa, toronto, and a bit around quebec XD
eh
That's because structurally they can be supported by drilling down into the high bedrock, but still restricted on hight based on their floor area ratio
vancouver is like the other side of canada
yep
also canada is like only two sides
it's sometimes cheaper to fly to europe than to vancouver
either west or east, the middle is baren wasteland
true
If it isn't apparent by now, I am an architect
hoping LTX tickets go on sale early enough this year that i can get a cheap flight well in advance
er next year 2024~
my father is one too
Let's fucking go, who's your dad. Dox him rn
Nah I'm kidding mods don't get me
Ban
Nah don't do that
its the same price to go to tokyo, london england, or vancouver right now fml
sometimes is cheaper for me to fly to Cyprus then to Germany
we may do LTX then Japan
cause it's usually cheaper to fly Mtl to Vancouver, Vancouver to Japan
i hope the drama will be over soon
it will pass
i already have 2
are you still a student or already have your own firm ?
I work under someone, I'm not getting my license
Nice
what type of architect ? urban or housing or ?
or bridge architect ?
I dont know how many types there are
i have some architecture photos I took of NYC when I was there with my dad ,you wanna see and give me an opinion ?
Residential and institutional, we also do commercial
I dont know what is the status of new architecture in the US
my dad does only in his country and architects are like a high status there
compared to other countries in the EU
where architects arent valued enough
Status means everything and nothing
ive actually tried to pitch him a keyboard
but he refused saying his laptop keyboard is sufficient haha
Man we use 3080's and Xeon chips in this office
autocad ?
Cad, sketch up, rhino, and revit
my dad office employees use cinema4d and archicad
he does too
im looking for very clicky switches but i dont to make alot of noise
i tried brown switches but they are not very clicky
you need blue clicky
but they do make alot of noise
Kailh Cream Clickies
2014 Kailh/Greetech Razer Greens
Listen
Oh these are the ttc's
i thought razer greens make more noise than blue ones
quiet click
quiet
TTC bluish golds
Really stoked about this switch. It may be the first clicky switch I've actually enjoyed!

Nah see if I want clicky, I want big click
i currently have white low profile switches
cream clickes
but they are a bit clicky
not the big clicky i want
buy a whole new hotswap keyboard
Ah that will do it
Why not solder
Useful skill
Very good skill to learn
Not that hard
isnt that a permanent switch then
No, you can desolder it
and what if i mess up
isnt hot swap easier tho
Mhmm
But who ever had fun doing the easiest task
Hotswap is still a relatively new concept
also does a hotswap board go for a while?
like lets say i change the switches alot
will it last atleast 3-4 years
or longer
Ya
If you keep taking the switches in and out in and out, you're going to either bend the pins of the sockets, or burn them out, so just don't be doing that
wasn't meant for me, but i needed to hear this.
kailh sockets have a mating cycle of 5k cycles
That's what they say on paper sure
and I assume you have evidence to refute that?
2 broken boards that need the sockets bent back into place to hold a switch and have it activate, both Kailh, interesting how that happened twice
Each swapped less than 100 times, 1 for testing, 1 by coincidence
you sure it wasn't just user error?
Not quite sure how it could be user error
Switches used were straight from factory, never soldered, never mounted outside of the board
it's not an issue with the socket
ionno how these places are soldering on the sockets, but I've had a several hotswap pcbs where the sockets seem barely soldered on, as in I can physically remove the socket by pulling on it off the back
usually my taobao boards I think
which, not enough solder seems like it would account for that kind of problem
the worst were the ones where I could pull the sockets off, I had a few where I could like wiggle them half off the board so it was dangling at an angle
Not enough solder on Kailh sockets? The sockets didn't come off, the contacts in the sockets no longer activated, they stayed back.
