Foam affects typing
I am trying to make the loudest keyboard ever, I’m using blue bomb switches, and a keychron Q1
shrug
I’m gonna fucking hate it, but it will be loud
Trying to figure out what plate material I should use
I would assume alu would be a bit louder since its less dense
Keychron Q1 is very hollow and loud
Wrong
?
what do you mean by "these"
its not a speaker but sure
Noise
WTF is it then
the class boards have a buzzer and a solenoid
a solenoid sounds more like buckling springs
Loudest natural board then that’s just not solenoid I guess
Or buzzer
I reckon the KRYCHRON Q1 is probably the loudest most hollow board I will find in stock and cheap.
if you want fun get the class 60
it will be an actual keyboard youll enjoy using
Ion rly want solenoid man
Idk
I just don’t
Any other recommendations for really hollow loud boards though
ncr80
prolly something big, plastic, and hollow
How can such a thin board be loud
like a ncr80 lol
which one
It doesn’t look like it could be hollow
Cus is so thin
Idk prolly will go with the q1 is very jollow
Hole
Hollow
OMG
The NCR80 Keyboard kit, along with JWICK switches and a cheap set of chinese PBT caps make for a modest and fantastic low cost plastic keyboard build.
In this video, I briefly review the entire build including the switches and caps.
=============================
Links for the items: (You may have to do some searching on your own if something ...
Can you bypass the rgb settings on a keycron with a 3rd party rgb software?
prolly better to ask that in the keychron discord
Yes. For custom animated or reactive rgb.
Since they don’t have a native software for some dumb reason.
there is
But it doesn’t control rgb.
VIA can control rgb
Right?

keychron boards in general have VIA support, which means you can adjust them through the via website
just buy the ncr
Ahh
yeah they're qmk and via supported
Is it hot swap
yes
I don’t know man it looks fucking terrible. I don’t know if I want it.
It’s gonna be loud, but it’s got like you know look a little bit good at least le
ncr is definitely a choice lol
lol
its different
Package Included(NCR-80 NCR80 R2 VINTAGE MECHANICAL KEYBOARD KIT) Option 1: NCR-80 R2 Case+ Solder PCB+Screws+Stabs Option 2: NCR-80 R2 Case+ Solder PCB+Plate+Screws+Stabs Option 3: NCR-80 R2 Case+ Hotswap PCB+Plate+Screws+Stabs We prepare the special ShenPo Keycaps for the NCR-80 Kit,if you need,click here. Please not
I think it looks cool but I like the vintage look
big ole forehead
if you want a hollow board you might as well get the look to go with it
just get the dark grey
this man wants hotswap tho lol
incidentally, I mill max'd my discipline
Yea idk how to fkn solder
its insanely easy
nice skill to have
After cracking a joke about theming my setup to ankha I am sad to announce, no such thing has ever been made.
i use a pinecil
If I wasn’t 17 with helicopter parents maybe I would
highly recommend pinecil
is your dad into mechanical engineering stuff
25 dollar soldering iron that can be powered through usb
MY dad doesn’t do shit
Mechanical I mean
ncr is hotswap tho
Still need to think of keycaps. I need black and white. Cause black and white setup beautiful
fair enough
out of all the boards i have within reach atm
Ncr^
2 months from now im gonna see a mm post that says:
WTS:
Cursed Q1 -$20
Any examples
So pretty 🤩
i'm on my discipline atm and it's pretty loud lol
my bbox60 is loud
less material = less sound absorption
eh depends
oh get the type k and use the full alu plate
very much within your budget
Well all things considered this build is better than my last one. last one was this: Glorious GMMK TKL barebones with led
Drop TLK skylight series keycaps
Durrock Dolphins 62 g switches
Thick films
TKL foam mod
Krytox 295G0 lube.
(90% sure this was over $500 too
Idk. Probably had to do with the over priced keycaps or lube. Not sure.
I also added accessories like keycap pullers and lubing station to final cost.
Idk what keycaps u used
Hm was the actual board
Quality isn’t the best from how much I got bullied for that build lol.
I think that was on tech source’s discord.
Setup wars?
Never sen em
kprepublic bent steel cases are pretty loud and hollow
since they aren't like, enclosed at all lol
I can't believe people still watch that dude
its also $750 at the lowest
JESUS WHAT THE FUCK WHY
Why
materials, design, quality
also profit
ill be getting one in 7 days
his videos are boring
the setups were cool for like a year
in 2016
I stopped watching most tech videos years ago
yeah
I watch LTT still
tech landscape pretty boring nowadays
I still remember the old TS setup makeover
and the one that the dude decided to sell like weeks after and got flamed for it

I would watch him over LTT keeb videos tbh
well
short circuit
I didnt mind the LTT vid of them building the tofu
yeah plouffe is pretty hopeless
the tofu vid was a turning point for the pandemic boom
I can only give him so much benefit of the doubt until he says to open up a unicomp and put foam in it
to make it "better"
lmao wtf
Tofu65 2.0
Is elite
i have a split tofu
a tofu but split
How and where
kek
keyboards have plates
huh.
do white pudding keycaps look good on black keybaord?
I didn't like the black pudding keycaps when I used my friends kb
So thinking about white ones as I'm gettting them very cheap
yes
or both... I added a solenoid to my model f. because I want everyone around me to hate me.

I mean if you just want loud
you want something with a lot of internal volume
NCR 80s for example can be pretty loud
that is why the F1 is so loud
then put on keycaps that aren't super thick so they dampen it out as little as possible
so something like DCS (imo won't sound good on an NCR tho)
and then prob either long pole tactiles/linears or clickies (duh)
Any mods you can put on keyboard that prevent dog hair from getting inside. I have dogs. And this happens all the time.
Or a cover
then you cant use the keyboard
keyboard enthusiasts: mom, I need more lube😔 🥺 🤤
0.0
You do mean kryotox 205g0 correct?
sure
Hey I have a question and was wondering if anyone has an answer to this. I bought strawberry milk switches for my keyboard. The switches have these two little pegs making them unable to fit into my keyboard, can I break them off or does this keyboard need different switches?
who designed the pcb without the holes is the real question here /s
Glorious apparently
if youre willing to go through the process people use those snippers to cut them off
idk what theyre called but you can search it up, youre basically making the switches 5 pin to 3 pin
If I do that would it affect anything?
YAYY thank ya!
np :)
you do have to clip them off really close to the housing, just as a note
either with an exacto or flush cutters
Bruh
@main narwhal I’m finally done, they are fixed now
nice
It only took about an hour too
took out all the switches?
Yeah
no more stick?
None
😄
Picture and sound test
I still need to lube them
Oh wait
I COULD HAVE LUBED THEM
FUUUUU-

Hi
geonworks f1-8x
I saved this gmmk 2 with home made mods
Bandaid strips under the stabs. Painter tape on the back. PBT caps. And the creme de la creme.
Jelly tape on the space enter and backspace
I’m scared to lube the switches because of what I saw the moment I took the spacebar off
Well that happened. 12 hours and i finally lubed and filmed the switches/ cleaned and lubed the stabs/ and fixed the used k10. It’s been a journey, and may i not have to do that for a long time…
oh GPL 105 on the springs/ 3204 for the tactile browns. since i didn’t get 205g0 i reused the 3204 and added dielectric grease to the stabs
Could someone explain the difference between the wooting 60he’s switches with rapid trigger and optical switches like the corsair k100?Don’t fully understand it, thanks
wdym with rapid trigger and optical switches?
Like the idea of rapid trigger is that it registers the key press really fast right?
How is that different from optical bc that uses a lazer
So shouldn’t it just be the same thing? Why is the wooting considered the best for gaming
rapid trigger is implemented through software
And wouldn’t an optical switch have that ability inherently though? Sorry I’m just getting into keyboards
kinda
you know how normal cherry mx has an actuation point right? you have to pass that to make an input, and then you have to let the switch above that point to not make an input
Rapid Trigger instantly activates your key when you inted to press and instantly deactivates the key when you intend to release.
for optical switches to have this ability, they need to design a switch in a way that generate variable level of light intensity and the software has to be coded for that kind of action
I see
And thats what the razer huntsman did
I have the corsair k100 rn but I have been looking at the wooting
Even if corsair adds it from software I like the ability to mod the wooting a lot
most optical switches simply operate like a shutter to block the light, so no rapid trigger
Got you, thanks for explaining!
I’m just debating to get their 100% or 60%, leaning to 60 bc I have found more cases for them
its up to your case
The wooting has the ability to have analog input so I guess that's a reason
wooting also has super low input lag afaik
Is the Logitech G213 Prodigy a good budget keyboard?
Planning on building my own keyboard, does anyone have any suggestions on a full size barebones keyboard?
Keychron v series whatever one is full size
Thank you
what are some keychron k8 pro alternatives? been looking for something like gat/cherry red switches or maybe yellow switches (pretty sure yellows are reds but with more actuation force but both work)
i don't wanna spend a lot of money on keyboards at all either
hmm, what if the range goes from 100-110 to about 150~?
for prebuilts what would you recommend?
keychron
keychron V/Q series specifically
although the K Pro series isn't bad
but I do not recommend the C/K series
i see, mind me asking why?
K/C are worse build quality
worse keycaps
although, I'd suggest looking at monsgeek for a DIY kit
keychron v series 80% isn't looking as nice as the k series but i still want to type on something that feels really nice to type on
what specifically from monsgeek?
what about the in built stabilizers? are they good and don't make any sort of rattling noise? i do not want to end up having to buy lube and lubing them or adding some sort of bandaid mod to it
You will need lube for basically any stabs
M series
(m1/m2/m3)
The K pro is decent
was looking at a specific k8 pro configuration
https://www.monsgeek.com/product/m1w-barebone/ this one specifically looks really attractive visually
MonsGeek First Wireless Aluminum Keyboard Barebone! With its multi-mode connectivity options, including 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and USB-C wired connection, users are no longer limited in how they can connect. Say goodbye to restrictions and embrace the ultimate typing experience! Note that M1W Fully Assembled will come with Akko V3 Piano Pro...
would need to buy my own switches and keycaps though
yes
and i really hope the stabilizers are pre-lubed, cannot find anything about them
does monsgeek support VIA?
I do not know
what are akko v3 switches like compared to something like gat red/yellows?
Yes
Or at least qmk
I know it does have qmk or via (via runs off qmk firmware)
akko v3 family has numerous weight/style options
Don’t stress the switches too much, there’s so many factors other than switches in a board
And you won’t know what you like until you actually try some first
for switches, what sorta stuff should i be looking at? cherry are a bit expensive which was why i was thinking of gat red/yellows
where are you looking for switches
how do cherry black and yellows compare to gat ink black and yellows?
lists all the spring weights and material types
you bought 2 of the same board?
hi all! i was wondering why the keyboard of my old 2012 dell xps 13 holds up so well, it basically looks like new although i inherited that thing from my mom who like literally wrote multiple books on it.
any keyboard i buy nowadays looks like shit after two years latest
How do I know if switches are mx switches?
The stem should be a + shape
This right? I really appreciate your guy’s help
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure those or Otemu switches, not cherry
No worries
So it has to be just the plus, understood
Mmhm
Example
Thanks!
Any time
the housing of that switch says Leobog
I was wrong I see
but hey
IM FINALLY DONE
Not the best acoustics, but it still sounds fine, just fine
Can someone buy a flux keyboard and throw it out the windows pls I wanna see the durability
is 220 cad a good price for a mechanical hotswap keyboard?
it's keychron if you're wondering
I found out about the Montech Mkey right after I got my Razer Blackwidow v3 Mini Hyperspeed, wish I would have known sooner!
i've had my razer keyboard for a month now so I can't return it, got it from best buy
My mom complains about my keyboard being loud, so that one would be better
I have too much creative freedom, I just buy whatever fits my needs. Built this for around $150 USD.
is that alot for mechanical keyboards?
Ohhh not even. There's way more expensive mechs out there.
my keyboard is 600+
jfc...
also ill finally admit the caps dont match
i gaslit myself into think the caps look cool but they look shit on my board tbh
the artisan is cool though
artisan caps look cool on any board
but good to know i'm not spending a shit ton of money on a keyboard
What did you get? A Mode SixtyFive?
Harbour65 SE
for its price its the best budget board on the market right now
your options obviously opens up more with more budget (frog/freetkl/mkc) but keychron is a start
i heard they were good, and their hotswap boards aren't as expensive
i have a K55 pro from corsair and love its quite use case. i popped the key caps off (membrane keyboard still) and cleaned it with lukewarm water, like i do every year. it looks great, keys were dry when reinserted but many keys now seem to not want to be pressed easily. they will lessen after a few clicks, but will happen again minutes later. its not a substance or jammed. maybe i warped the key/plastic somehow and ruined the optimal striking/ pressing angel? They don't look warped but maybe? idk
i bought a v3 barebones, cherry mx reds and hyperx pbt keycaps and plan on building the keyboard myself, their rgb software work on linux is an awesome bonus to me
and, i know its a cheap/non mechanical keyboard, but every "quiet" mechanical keyboard ive tried felt gummy. i guess id love any suggestions to a mechanical replacement with the feel/volume of the k55, seeing as this needs to gooo
probably the same i have might be a good choice?
i'm no expert on mechanical keyboards, so
i do love the LEDs under the keys for night typing, but the cosair software, ique, while decent, is just too much uneeded junk, would love to get away from corsair for that reason too
i only used mechs in the 90s, and had a few IBM KBs i loved but i need lights (and something that wont be loud)
i really picked the wrong day to join to ask , lol
ill leave the comment and check back, peeps def got their focus elsewhere, all good. hope LTT and jesus kiseth. ty for the replies!
if i know one thing about keyboards it's that you gotta try different switches in person
exactly
go to a local tech store and try their keys
and compUSA is gone and no micro center near me lol
i figured i liked mx reds from that
i have, their locally owned here in NY
i think i tried browns last and wasnt a fan, ill note down reds, ty
np, there's also red silent, more expensive but way quieter
they're the same as regular ones though
i think that will be what ill need (as long as its not insane $$)
https://www.amazon.com/Cherry-MX-Board-3-0-Mechanical/dp/B08YRRLV25 knock off reds or not, the price is right enough to at least see if i like.
The CHERRY MX BOARD 3.0 S is a high-performance mechanical keyboard with a choice of illumination, color, and switch options. The stylish extruded aluminum housing integrates genuine CHERRY MX switches, designed for precise input control and a premium typing experience. The CHERRY MX Gold Crosspo...
i looked at that exact one too
says legit, but...amazon lol
they aren't swappable though
key look a little too close
ah, that would suck, but if i like it, it would last me a long time, nor would i be enthusiast level in swapping, per se.
yeah, i just like being able to repair things easily tbh
either way, i have a better idea, i honesstly forgot reds hasd a silent variant. thats a huge help, ty again
if one key breaks id make amazon give me a new KB lol
but i feel you
not hot about the key spacing, so ill keep looking regardless, will aim for swappable. you rock, ty
no probs. if you want budget, i found keychron has hotswap keyboards for pretty low, and as nightrye said, they're the best budget boards on the market
once mine arrives, i'll give it a good go to see if i really like it
Keychron Q3 here - So the Microphone button maps to Search via Cortana (Win+C). However I want to map that to the newer global mic mute introduced to Win11 22H2 which as now (Win+Alt+K). I know Powertoys can do that, but prefer not having that as an app running.
Who provides authority on the mapping? Is that Keychron or QMK?
Is there's a way to remap / repurpose that key away from the defunct (and useless) Cortana?
i bought a used k10, no complaints good starter board for sure
Anyone here happen to have a chroma space65r3 from the extra sale and also be willing to trade me?
Mechmarket would be your best bet
Yeah, just havent had time to peruse lately
Lmao
yep
I’m buying keycaps and holy panda switches from drop, where should I buy a barebones keyboard from? Drop doesn’t have any full-size keyboards I like
Keychron v series whatever one is full size
kits or prebuilt?
soon osumekeys will be releasing their new profile "marshmallow" which im pretty sure is just xda
oooooooooo
personally ive been using xda for the longest time now and i only have a problem with constantly clicking two keys at once
my typing accuracy is shit lol
thankyou for informing me about this I will hold onto my mulla until the dawn of Q4 2023 so that I can touch the perfectly perfect key cap set that is figuratively edible.
lmaoo np glad i could find something you like
you might also want to join their discord server since they announce the times of when sales start cuz their stuff goes out really fast
so like
i've noticed through the years all these different XDA sets released throughout the years aren't actually the same as each other lol
multiple xda sets I own have like different corners, or different heights
I hope marshmallow works out for osume tho, I like them as a vendor
so far my aliexpress ones have been the H key type
both
if cerakey releases an XDA set that would be the ultimate banger (plus each key in xda is the same so no need to make like 50 molds )
Another thing
I have an KDA logitech g pro keyboard
The keyboard itself is black and white, theres anywhere that sells the black one piece?
( why i didn't bought the black one from the start? Kda have brown switches)
Anyone aware of a keyboard that's essentially just a GMMK Pro with north-facing LEDs? Ideally also has 2.4Ghz wireless, but not a deal breaker. Can be regular or optical switches.
Barebones or otherwise.
Is the nt75 barebone good?
for how much ?
Ordered the km84 plus
Got it on sale
Will sell once the price gets high again XD
Trying to pick a wireless mechanical keyboard. Deciding between the rk61 and Redragon k596
I can’t make out which rk61 model I am looking at but it has blue switches and 800mah battery. It goes for 25 usd while the k596 goes for 50 usd (it’s got red switches and thrice the battery)
Is the k596 worth twice the price?
why dont you buy a tester68 ?
anyone with a field75 would recommend it as well?
I contacted Nuphy asking when restock, they gave me a date coming up soon, deciding if I do it or not!
it's a good board but i recommend the halo75
Hm, why halo over the field? Just curious
I think I can get the Halo on amazon canada
Field is made more for gamers and the color's arent really that apealing
The halo is an awesome typing experience with simple looks
and awesome switches
^ gamer
Im a gamer aswell
hmm i reallly like the design of the field, if they both have a good typing experience then that's fine
but the field75 is just too much
but if the halo is really that much better i'll get it faster
yet
hahaha
aha
yeah in that case go for the halo75
it looks pretty solid
it's a better kickoff if you ever get into it
my gf wants me to get a quiet switch
hm
so on the field it wouldve been the polaris
Cherry MX browns
tactiles
ok
so i'd suggest getting linears
so either polaris/speed silver on the field75
or Raccons / G pro red
on the halo
i have a halo75, my friend has a field 75 and i just recently customised a halo75 for a female friend of mine
ah thanks was looking in the switches page to see what the halo's are
saved me a search
my problem is i REALLLLY like the design of the field 😆
may have to get both
(bottom one on the second pic)
honestly if you like the field
go for it
but longterm
the halo is a much more neutral choice
the field is very striking
if i get the halo eventually, i may go with the numpad 96
yeah my best friend is looking st that one
im one of those typing in lots of numbers and im fast on it
thanks for the tips though!
What’s the best keychron keyboard
You could say the q series but I don’t feel they are worth unless you want a prebuilt
V series is the main thing I would recommend
nothing is best, it all depends on what you want
I need a help
The keyboard I ordered doesn't have adjustable feets
Any DIY idea to make feets for my kb?
I'm thinking of I'll glue rubbers 💀
any recommendations for a 65% (im way too reliant on arrow keys) **wireless **keyboard?
about to buy the royal kludge rk61, should i get the brown switches or blue switches?
pls ping when replying
how much extra height are you looking for?
red
dont buy blue or brown please
@vale flint
Average extra height
Not that much
The one I ordered doesn't have any feet
Just thin rubber grip
oh ok thanks,,,,
but i dont want loud keyboard
i want medium sound
look up 3m bumpon on amazon?
buy reds
amazon isn't available in my country (I mean, shipping charge is more than product price💀)
My country is Bangladesh
Is the keychron c series any good?
They are alright, I would rather get other keychron boards tho
Don't your keyboards get dusty when you put it openly like that? I thought about buying this wall, but then I thought about all the dust
I give my keycaps a bath
I’m afraid of my keyboards being too heavy for the brackets tho lol
its not iron180 kind of heavy is it
Got this but only really thing I liked were the switches after use. They were daisy switches. Felt really nice response time for me
Gonna return if they let me. Want the same switches but you have to solder them. Have no experience in soldering keyboards. I have use a soldering iron
just bumping this, does anyone have any recommendations?
whats a good 200 dollar 75 percent setup
i dont mind building it myself or anything i just cant find anything
i know this is a keyboard channel but idk where else to ask. What is a good wirless mouse for under $50?
trying to get a friend who is not into keyboards at all to come to the meet with me
;/
you can use cabinet bumpons in a pinch
you can find them in any home improvement store
just grab one in the size you want your keyboard to angle
also, which keyboard? are there screw holes on the bottom for feet?
I always do usb for compatibility reasons, since I use keyboards with different machines
Keychron Q1 Pro fully assembled comes in around 200
what switches
the cheap akko one comes to mind
km84 plus barebone
then yeah, cabinet bumpons will work fine if you want to increase the typing angle
Keychron Q1 Pro is a full metal QMK/VIA wireless mechanical keyboard. Customize any key or create macro commands through VIA software as usual, and connect the Q1 Pro with up to 3 devices through Bluetooth for seamless multitasking across Mac, Windows, and Linux.
well then
thank you
I see
Then why still make mobos with ps2 ports
various reasons
Nostalgic nerds
Why do they still print comic books?
Bruh
Cuz it’s cool af
G915 tkl alternative
yeah they can but you can dust them off when you use them
well, yeah
for kids to read
dk saver
this afternoon is going to be fun
what would be the best few tools to clean my razor blackwidow v3 keyboard(daily cleaning)
i use it for all my keyboards
$30nzd at a local store.... might actually buy one in the future now that I know of it
seems overpriced for a cleaning brush but its a see it to believe it thing
if only distributors didn't mark it up and sell it at 11 dollars like they do in japan 😔
i just vacuum it
hahaha lol 20$
i use the 2$ for 600$ keyboards
and it does wonders
what difference will a 20$ brush do
try it and see
im eager to learn something new
is there any evidence of its efficency?
because a brush is just a brush
considering every modeller worth their shit i know uses one yes
saying a brush is just a brush is like saying a keyboard is just a keyboard
well
I was about to say lol
People buy $100 pens too

Size, shape
in the end you can't really tune a brush
fineness
as mucz as a keyboard
ok?
Yes ok
it ain't a pp measuring contest
Just bc you can’t tune it doesn’t mean it’s not complex

yes indeed a brush is a complex mechanical system with dozens of tunable things and available in hundreds of different sized
if you need to nickpick everything like a dumbass then yes
but people dont want to spend 20$ on a stupid brush when a 2$ brush is sufficient
arguing over a stupid brush you people have nothing better to do lol
dude wanted to clean a stupid razer board
and you suggest a niche item
Maybe for their use case a cheaper brush is more effective sure
Lmao
Moon
Thanks
That thing is tall
8 I think
I’m used to the 87u with the flipups so it’s no biggie
Check out the side profile
That’s sick
yeah makes good use of the seam
Is there an internal weight?
yeah
definitely wasn't a cheap board to manufacture back then
I'm glad everyone has largely forgotten about it
Yeah I bet
Damn that’s pretty good
agreed
does anybody know if steelseries apex 5, 7, pro, etc is good for longtivity? i heard it has issues with blue led dying after a year or two but im not sure if if its just a small percentage of people or if its going to happen to most people
a friend of mine has it
since 2019 with cherry reds
and works flawlessly
which model?
i kinda want to know more in depth because on the steelseries subreddit like a good portion of posts are just people saying "blue led died plz help :(((("
and all of them happen after a year with a key losing its blue color one by one
I have a gk61 should i get a g915 tkl tho its 155$ usd but micro usb
Get a keychron
he has the
???
I got a Keychron V3, it's really nice.
yeah apex pro since 2019 and no LED issues
its dirty but otherwise works great
and a friend in france has the apex 5
and also no issues
i will die if i get the apex 7 then two years later the led just stops working
where u from
US
idk if its because of a certain led supplier or something
im not gonna risk it and see if the apex 5 is good, if i dont like the blue switches then im getting my sister's kira and switching keycaps
no its because they miscalculated the load on the diode or willfully chose underspecced diodes
wdym by that
so should it be an issue that's common?
theres like a bunch of reddit posts about it but idk if thats something that typically happens with any product
yeah
Budget ?
below 100
USD ?
yessir
is a apex under 100 ?
yeah
i just dont know if i should get the apex 7 or 5
i really want to get 7 but when shit like this is a thing
like idk if the only people who are on there are people who have issues or not
because i wouldnt be there and say the product is good but only there if i have something to complain about
you mean 63?
you know if it lasts forever
thats a milion dollar question bro
ive had a Fnatic Streak full size
since 2016
as a backup and for friends when they come over
but then a friend had a razer black widow and it lasted for 3 years
how would i know if something is gonna last tho
Yeah thats very subjective
they promise crap like 50 million keypresses
Generally if its just a mech board
then something stupid happens
but what i dont get is how to be lucky and make it last
but some people may do it too and just get currsed
and dont slam your table
dont over use the OLED screen
it will last
but people travelling
slaming their tables
will put stress on their boards
you can get a way better board with a oled and rotary for way cheaper
yeah true
im interested in one with an oled
but some people prefer the big brands
and you can replace every part on it for way cheaper
there is about a milion different types of boards
but dont restrict yourself to some stupid oled board
im jus gonna go with the apex 5 cause its shipping and its sort of too late
😦
yesterday i was just bashed by those who keep on screaming at me to get a keychron
they werent really helpful because they literally dont understand that i just want something basic to start out with
black rgb mechanical
keychron is great
so i just went with apex 5
but Akko has a sale right nw
it prob is but im not really willing to buy something like that when i just want a generic gaming keyboard first
lmao
dont take browns or blue please
it only has their exclusive blue switches
my friend has the apex and all of my friends are saying they want the loudest shit
idk why im different
i just dont like the fact that it sounds like mouse clicks
is this one good?
expensive
im prob just gonna put pudding keycaps on it
thats the funny thing tho
have you though about
my sister has one
the halo96 ?
and she is willing to give it to me
holy shit
im gonna get backlash but why do they have to look so goofy
like why not all one color
oh
meh
idk how good the red switches are
best
no im talking about the ones that the kira has
cause thats the one i can get
imma compare the kira and the apex 5
if the apex 5 dies a few months if i dont return it i will actually be very pissed
shady warranty from what i heard
the thing i hate about buying a product is that you dont know if the bad reviews are from rare faults or common occurances
yeah
im in the EU so i have awesome customer protection and warranty
so im not really an expert on US warranty issues
what are good keyboards with oled screens
cornes lolol
corsa
zoom75
300 dollars is wild
i want one with rgb and num pad
I don’t think there’s any board that’s 96/100% with a screen
apex
Any one that’s decent quality*
You’re going to need to pay more for like a decent custom board to get a screen
If you just want a screen you can just get any cheap board with one ig
Discover this complete DIY keyboard kit. Choose your switches, keycaps, and frame to create a custom board that is truly your own. Work and game with style.
this one is decent
idk how long it will last tho
Glorious poopy
Glorious is known for having very poor quality control and just overall poor quality on their keyboards
You can get it if you want but I would reccomend a keychron v series, it does not have a screen though
why do so many people talk about keychron
whats different about them from every keyboard
They have qmk/via the best software, they are well built and have a pretty well implemented mount
They also have any layout you could want basically
how do i get rgb on them
is this good
Keychron K10 Pro QMK/VIA Wireless Mechanical Keyboard allows anyone to master any keyboard keys or macro commands through VIA, it has included keycaps for both Windows and macOS, and users can hot-swap with any MX mechanical switch in a breeze.
im so exited for my rk61
which switches you ended up taking ?
blue
sorry
brown
when in doubt go brown
i heard
🙊

yeah a few accidents out of thousands they sold
i dont think its that big of an issue
yup the battery swelling isnt a big issue indeed
i love it when my keyboard haphazardly explodes on me, potentially risking my life and possessions !!
well worth the risk
i cant bring myself to buy the things in my cart
what things ?
monsgeek m1 and some switches and keycaps
haha i just built the m3, like 2 hours ago
which switches ?
some switches on valasupply
they are called emt v2s bc i dont feel like paying for seperate shipping anywhere else
plus its like 34 bucks for 90 due to the sale
id cop the monsgeek without hesitation
I built it with kang whites
and GMK vaporwave
the keycaps ima get are like 63 dollars and they are worth like 105
you got pics ?
thats pretty cool
but i dont think it matches the keycaps anyways so it would look weird
yeah its more of a mauve
its like 235 for shipping and everything
ive already put in my payment stuff i just have to hit buy lol
mine is red white black
hahaha
i got 60% keyboard and my ctr+ 1 -3 dnt work but ctr + 4 does in game
they are a 20 mm double spring and they are linear
they are pretty good sounding but on the heavier side i think
you listened to a sound test?
THOCK
what the hell you are here too
Yeah
thock best sound
For real
i need to do all of the sound deepening mods
Increase the massive thock
MOTHER THOCKER
i’m claiming that term
Damn.
i’m going to make it a sticker
Ngl the new razer keyboard seems pretty good. Got a glowing review by badseedtech
I agree
not a bad price either, seems to be better quality than the gmmk pro was
Ya, for sure going to be my go to recommendation for peeps wanting to get into customs
whats a good budget keyboard
Hey, I wanted some opinions on Redragon K630 Dragonborn(pink). I want something really affordable. This keyboard is available to me at $25; is it a good deal?
what's the budget?
I have a clapped out keyboard

had my hopes up
