Both.
Should i get this?
I've had my Corsair Strafe since June 2017, and managed to spill white wine on it last week. Today I opened it up and cleaned the inside out. All the keys are somehow fully functional, no immediate damage to the board, ran a lot of tests.
I think I'm super lucky!
A few of the numpad switches are very sticky, what is the recommended way to clean em up so they're smooth again? (Note the switches are soldered on this board)
-- I thought of Linus's keyboard painting video and wanted to run my board under the sink ;p
Who actually uses the numpad
This is a fictional scenario
Nobody would notice
Cause nobody uses the numpad
I use the numpad all the time. Can't live without it.
Fuck anything under 100% that is all
I use my numpad...
Either way it's the most useless answer possible, even if I don't use my numpad, I want to clean the soldered on switches. The most extreme case is to desolder and turn the board into a hotswap - Not doing that though, I am lazy.
isopropyl alcohol
thank you for a meaningful answer!
According to some googling, i should dilute the isopropyl alcohol before using it on the keyboard, will do.
Replace them
Desolder
I honestly doubt the alcohol will take care of it but if it does good stuff
i'll give it a shot
Gl gl
the keyboard is useable at least, just work from home needs the numpad a lot XD
Send to me I’ll desolder
other option is to get that nuphy field75 and a separate numpad that only gets plugged in during work
or similar sexy keyboard
Lmao
maybe ill donate this one to him if i can get it fixed up
but this one has history, had it since june 2017
My dad finally understood why custom boards are a thing when I gave him the pro
My mom got one too lol. Little cheaper but she uses a sk108 with kailh silent browns and mistel wob
this old corsair strafe has cherry browns
It’s a rabbit hole for sure
im still pretty impressed how much stuff i managed to spill on this board and it hasn't died
This is what I’m rocking rn (don’t mind the laptop I’m moving atm)
Honestly surprised
RGB
Lol I didn’t even see the back
I’ve got stuff for my new setup coming in the next couple days I’m super pumped
Lol hopefully I’ve never been a cable management guy. And I’m also in the process of getting stuff to stream so more clutter lol
cheap desk mounted mic stand will help you ;p
Ye I’m getting two of these https://www.ulanzi.com/products/vijim-ls25-multifunction-desk-setup-stand
One for my mic, one for a top down camera
Works out to $45 shipped per after discounts
canada tho
yours looks a bit more sturdy, though i can say mine is fine for me, with a yeti
I did see that one I’m mainly getting it for the camera
And it’s barely cheaper to get a one like that on Amazon and buy just one of the ls25’s
Since on their site if you buy two of those you reach the free shipping threshold
oh thats good
And no sales tax and 10% discount code so it’s a dub
oh damn, taxes here are ridiculous 15%~~
Are you in the US?
I was about to say lol
not in LTT land though
My city is 10.5% which is super high for the states
jeezuz
Most states are 3-5
Yeah seems normal ish for what y’all get back Ig
But yeah planning to stream some keeb stuff should be fun
ah like building kb stream?
Yep yep
Getting everything ready prob will do my first stream in a couple weeks
hmm
Dino you stupid saur. You cannot tune an electric keyboard
What the freak man. Why is my C flat key out of tune 😡😡
It's cause you deleted windows 9
Can someone answer my do diggily darn question excuse my Prussian
You must be incompetent, only true gamers use Ios
iOS**
I need you to recalibrate your brain
I think you need to find your brain, perhaps it went bad after you left it out. in fact, you may want to check if it is left behind you old goober
Admins. This guy is clearly a troll
Guy??? Excuse me?
Check the pronouns sir
well i did ask if they have ever done a keycap set... lol thats cool tho when was this
thanks
Hipyo
Why does the keyboard community allow hipyo to stay relevant 🤢
fall off already
He makes fun of himself ironically about thock and then just proceeds to make it unironically cringe
Hipyo mad silly
wow im glad we can all come together and hate hipyo ☺️
🫶
His server is full of people who think tkl is too big but a 75 is just the perfect size and how pbt keycaps are the only good ones
i agree except tkl > 75
pbt keycaps are the only good keycaps 😡
still no full PBT doubleshot besides MTNU

😔
KAT/KAM is pure pbt
There’s doubleshot

bet inner shot is not PBT
Why would I say it’s pure pbt if I knew the inner was abs or pc
I would not trust Keyreative to properly manufacture and QC inner shot PBT
Well it’s already been delivered

great
how did they manage to do that
HSA was fully doubleshot afaik
outer shot should not warp that much
suspicious manus always find new ways to impress
yea
definetley suspicious lol
far from consistent etc
since the inner shots warp a ton
well yea
doesn't leave you with that many options
gmk has issues on and off
so somewhat rng, but issues typically get solved and you will get replacements
kkb is decent so far
xmi prices got kinda high imo
jc studio still not easy to get at good prices
@muted karma gonna try to cop ulx?
not on first drop lol
Qc huh
Good thocky sounding galaxy themed keyboard which isn't expensive as shit?
ktt kang white + pbt
cheap thock
By cheap, you mean what
you can get like 90 pcs of kang white for 14 pounds here and 15 ponds for decent pbt caps
yeah
bang good?
Only switches.. no keyboard available on Amazon in india
oh you have to buy the keeb yourself and replace the switches
so if you've got any mech boards that are hot swappable you can do this rn
So I change the switches on my own keyboard?
No clue how to do that but ok
How do I change it tho
I'm like completely new to keyboards so yeah.. sorry
Nope
Like around 30-40 maybe 50 if it's really worth it
what's the used market like
consider finding an rk61 but make sure it's the hotswap version
the first version they had was not hotswappable
Is this it?
Lil bit on the expensive side... But do I have to buy seperate switches for this too then?
you don't have to
you can have that as your first mechanical keyboard
it's pretty decent but jumping into 60% might be abit jarring
Yeah I was hoping for a 100%.. but if it's more expensive, it's fine ig
Oh wait
That's wireless?
Damn nice
I think that the one I have rn is a mech.. but it's super uncomfortable and doesn't sound great
I just saw a review with sound test
I mean.. it's not bad.. but not that great sound either... ig for that price it's expected
But the 60% layout seems a bit of a change but makes it more compact ig...
I'm being snapped back to reality.. it's still 60 dollars..
I found one on eBay.. it says new condition.. 36 usd
Wait a sec
Bruh then the shipping will cost just as much
Umm do you know something similar but 100%? 60 just feels like a pain... Especially when I have so many keybinds...
@void geyser
hmm
there's not alot of customizable 100% boards out there
(and they get quite expensive)
Logitech G213... My friend found this... Again, I'm new to keyboards and know nothing about them.. how does this look?
it's not mechanical love sorry
Oh.. damn
Now I'm confused
What exactly is the difference between mech and non mechr
real
sadge the lack of full size costumizable keebs out there
any keyboard is customizable if you buy yourself a soldering iron
Full size is pretty rare
You mostly have just keychron and recently the monsgeek m5
Does 96% count?
that's what I went with
okay, my question is keyboard adjacent. Does anyone have any wrist rests that they recommend?
Topre is rubber dome but can be changed out
That’s why you get custom topre ez
Not kalam
I <3 kalam
Cip and Gondo doing work
I need my cheap Jane
no one can actually define "mechanical" technically all keyboards have moving parts
what would you classify the model m as
Chonky
yeah i bought a keychron v6 yesterday locally
but i only had the k10, q6 and some other keyboard (something odin) as far as im aware of
moving parts exclude switches, so no keyboard actually have any moving parts
what about knob
yeah ok thats a moving part ig
see, no one cares about your budget gummy mount gh60/65
Logitech G915 TKL still good ? paid 100$
any options for wireless and low profile quiete keys ?
some of the keychrons?
kepler tkl, full brass pvd and a lemo connector, thought it was cool
Is gondo still working on that?
on what
Tobber pcb
p sure he's been doing the design for topre type k
He was working on several tobber pcbs a few years ago but then he stopped updating his project page awhile back
why isn’t it cf
Well custom topre is a thing now in multiple boards so we’re getting there
really nothing is stopping you from getting an ec PCB made since those are open source in common formats
and making your own plates
my honest reaction
smh they don't even bottom out
Maybe this is a dumb question but, can you lube OmniPoint switches?
if you can get them out of the board, yes
they have a stupid clipping system to prevent you from taking them out
you can lube the sliders and whatever
but it's a massive pain in the ass to take them out
Ahh ok
Ik it’s not hot swappable so I want to do this without de soldering
I’m new to this whole keyboard modding thing but I assume if I can find a more viscous lube, it’s less likely to cause any damage to the sensors in the switch
hold on, isnt ommipoint hall effect
its just the clips are bullshitery to prevent you from removing
the switch itself is not soldered to the pcb
I’m not sure if the OmniPoint 2.0s are (which is what I have)
I’ll have to check that out
Can you bypass this. And if you so. Can you deconstruct the switch easily?
Ok nerds yall know about soldering pcbs most likely
Do I need an adjustable temp soldering iron for simple soldering onto a breakout board
Don’t wanna waste money on a thing I’ll use like twice
Pinecil
With the power brick it’s expensive, and I’m going to microcenter today
Either gonna get a hakko or random offbrand one
i love the red color
ck61 stock no mods, oetemu reds
Rk61 ktt kang white lubed, holee mod, tape mod and lubed stabs
omg another red
I use a $20 iron on $600 boards
Kinda based ngl
wrist rest display holders?
Tell the manufacturer they suck
Bent what pins
Yknow who that is yea
no?
yeah try doing that when it's soldered
so I have to suck all the solder out straighten it before it can be pulled out
when you do straighten it sometimes the contacts lift
but atleast it's not an rk61 board rev 1 where if you look at the pad wrong it just lifts
I've re traced the contacts on my rk61 and it's got about 20 jumpers just to make the keyboard work
can someone help me with my keyboard?
probably not
wdym check ym switches
pre built or not if the switch is soldered in it's soldered in
Before putting them into a board
no I have to desolder them out of the board
I didn't just push it in and bend them myself
That’s why I asked if it’s a prebuilt
it's not even a standard 60% but it's fun anyway hahah
can someone help me with my keyboard?
lmfao
cool
goofy ahh discord name
I mean it's coincidence but yeah
its kinda funny lol
I mean my name is alfie + I'm a fan of evangelion
lol
probably not
shut the fuck up
SHUT UP
nuh uh
please do
nuh uh
why
refuses to elaborate
leaves
can someone help me with my keyboard please
probably not
Idk anything about keyboards
whats wrong?
I need help with my ducky one 3 minis rgbs
what is happening can i get a video of the issue i dont know what is going on
Probably
@dusky totem what need help with
I’m smart

ok check your dms
thank you
Does anyone here own a promise 87
whats a good white keyboard for 100aud
do anybody know where you can buy switches for the apex pro tkl? Since one of mine is broken and I want to replace it with a new one
what about 80%? I dont think i can live without the function bar
tkl basically
yeah
i think i can live without num pad
but function bar is needed lol
EvoFox Katana Pro
is that a good one?
@void geyser ?
nvm it doesnt sound great
do you really want my answer?
horus tkl for cheap
fair bit of warning horus tkl is LP
lp?
low profile
ah
it's hot swappable but you can only use low profile switches
oh
how much is your budget btw?
that means the thin asf ones right?
around 60 usd (converted)
what country
India
and what's the used market like?
Hmm... I prefer new ones... lemme check anyway
looks horrid
it's a classic
something that looks a bit more current by any chance?
used market in india is shit
god alone knows what to trust
im checking anyway tho
me when I discover you can build keyboards
you got something which isnt? trying to make my setup look fresh n good... not older.. lol
and ik for a fact india has ridiculous tax prices
function keys 😢
amazon dont got shit
written price is what you pay

doesnt sound that great
is there something thats wireless tho
you wont' find wireless tkl for 60
Redragon K596 vishnu
ok that does not sound good
its 70 here..
I did say around 60
so like 10 bucks above is fine
doesnt sound good tho
The Redragon K596 Vishnu TKL gaming keyboard deserves some serious attention for its amazing feature set and fair price of around $70. It comes with RED Linear Switches but it's also hot-swappable which means you can change them out if you wanted to. Other features include full RGB backlighting, dedicated multimedia keys, 2.4GHz wireless and U...
ok its supposed to be 85 bucks but its on offer so its 70
doesnt sound good...
rk84
quite expensive... but i see that its hot swap, wireless, and just have to get a sound test now
ok sounds better and louder.. but its still not thock i feel
is there like a simple mod or something to make that sound thockier?
oh damn
its chargable
yeah you can mod it easy
Shopping for sound profile is already limiting but at your budget it really isn’t possible
heres a tip: save up
Yeah no it's not that I can't spend so much.. it's just that I don't want to..
So saving up won't make a difference
thats obviously not how that works but sure
Fuck spending 100 for a keyboard
most I've spent on a keeb is probs 50 including mods
I wouldn’t get anything below the keychron v series if you want like a well built keyboard with good software
I just want something that looks ok and sounds decent...
Before I went by only looks... And bought the zebronics transformer
That was long ago when I had no clue what I was doing
So I'm thinking of getting an upgrade..
I'm also wondering if I should wait for my current keyboard to break or something
Then I have a better reason to get a new one
is 80 dollars a good price for a mcanical keybord
sure
How about $750
lol....my scarlet was $200 without switches or keycaps. Worth it honestly.
Rookie numbers
What board is this btw
Been in ic as many years as your name
Lol, group buy hell is real
We haven’t even gotten to the gb yet
💀
Yeah it’s great
Just gotta find the best spot for arrows
Caps lock plus wasd might not be the most comfy
It’s like wkl but thicker lol
Lol ye
That gap on the right is thicc
Oh yeah split right shift could work for arrows
Man I really want this board now LOL, too much moners tho
I really want to try out the tented design and how it feels
When you were talking about the right side bezel I saw it lol
Do you want a full size or is an 1800 fine
1800 has way more options
1800 has less navigation keys
It’s like a 75+numpad
ah I see
500 is a pretty thick budget
can I get a couple full recommendations and a couple 1800 recommendations?
The wind x r2 is cool cause it maintains a full sized number pad but it’s effectively 96%
Idk how much the wind goes for now tho
Oh yeah I forgor
Lemme ask around
There might be one with an f row idk
is there anywhere where it isnt sold out?
I have no clue about full size lol
You’re going have to find it aftermarket
ah I gotchu
All I know is keychron, Akko/monsgeek and like the fossil 100 lol
Idk any like midrange 100%, might not even exist
There’s the hbcp but $500 won’t get that lol
Cherry g80-3000 with dshots and vintage blacks could be cool but not for everyone
Odin is cool 96%
@chrome raft you could also get like a tkl/75 and get a seperate number pad
I think that would be a lot easier to find
maybe that is a good idea
Or tkl and numpad if you want essentially a full size
the odin is really cool lol
Yeah, I think the keychron q0 is cool for number pad and you can see what tkl you can find for whatever’s left
what tkls would you suggest
fair lol
interesting
It’s a tkl version of the cycle 7
ah I gotchu
That’s in gb rn
I dont have to use the whole budget if it is easier to find smth cheaper
good idea
87u better
update on the shitty ck 61
it's still shit however I've done some mods on it tape mode, craft foam and foam inserts to reduce the ping but it's still strong as fuck
im yet to paint the case and receive my new pbt caps
What’s the budget?
the space bar ping is just insane
I assume like 400+ cause number pad but up to you
prolly a little under 400
the drop CTRL looks cool
Skip drop boards
I have one very unorthodox recommendation, it’s a tkl from china
They are selling on Chinese marketplaces for like 200 usd, but if you want to get up to 400 I can probably find you something
I dont mind going under budget as long as the board is good
2 people I know have gotten the board
They’ve both said it’s pretty good for the price
I’m getting one soon as well
I gotta get permission LOL, gas got mad last time I almost said it
@glossy sandal
Get over here!!!!!!
oh lol
nobody cares about that board just say it
or dm them?
no im asking three to dm you
I alr did
are there any more orthodox ways to get a tkl for the price?
Somebody selling a Greystudio Apollo on mm for $400
When it comes to keyboards, china is your best friend
where is mm again?
I’ll dm you a link

Hey, I'm thinking of getting myself Keychron Q1 Pro, but cannot find any concrete evidence if it needs 3 or 5 pin switches. I guess visually it looks like 5 pin, but I thought I'd get a second opinion
i think keychron uses 5 pin pcbs
afaik they use 5 pin on Q/V series
afaik they use 5 pin on Q/V series
wtf are you doing here
5 pin and 3 pin both work so your pick on that one
just fitted myself akko jelly black in the outemu socket. Is there any silent alternative for this?
it feels better and inputs faster than the outemu red in my experience.
it's just too noisy to my liking.
Akko haze pink
Outemu Honey Peach silent linear.
Will be checking that out, thx
I have some interest for that switch, but my money is a bit short, so I'm saving up.
I think they are keyboarding here
Sickkk
Would anyone be able to tell me why most aviator custom keyboard cables use type-a for the pc end? Is there some specific reason or could I swap that end with a USB-C if I wanted?
I was considering getting the parts to make one of those goofy aviator cables with a hot swap pc end for usb-a and a second pc end for usb-c
but theoretically it would work, there's no reason to not get a usb-c connector
yeah itd be fine
lol i didn't really do a ton of research before i got this premicord ducky cable with a new one 3, now i'm all interested. Didn't really consider the pinouts should be the same, now I'm scared to buy any premade to hot swap with the one I got
I guess I could rip this one open but I figure why not just make a set, would be fun
Whats the difference between the Tecware Phantom 87 and Tecware phantom rgb 88?
They use identical images on amazon
Anyone here used TTC Bluish White switches before? They're a pre-lubed tactile switch with a very pronounced bump that feel fantastic. I'm curious about what other people think of them
ive heard theyre a bit quiet with a medium to light tactility
Mine are pretty quiet, only like 45g of actuation force but the bump is pretty long and pronounced. I love em
oh ok
got it
I'm wondering if someone can suggest a place to try out the feel and touch of different key types. (Cherry, Kaihua, Gateron etc)
so i have a g100s and imperator pro, anyone used it? what can you tell me about them?

gah my GMMK pro keeps chattering
i've gotten the firmware updates that are supposed to fix it
from what I heard, the switch is too thick for light to properly pass through, so the RGB would be a bit dimmed. Can't opt to that, any other recommendations?
That is a rubberdome lol
but it’s 2$ 🤷♂️
Got some OTC MoDoL Keycaps for my Frog

should i get red or brown switches for silent typing?
Ok so is the rk84 a good buy? I didn't like the sound so much.. if I buy it is there a not so hard and cheap way to get it to sound more thocky? My budget is around 60 usd.. this is like 70.. but I wanted a tkl at least..
which logitech keyboard should i buy?
preferably cheap, available in argentina and what would go well with my pro g pro gaming (hero 25k) mouse?
modern gigabyte board still allows windows 98 keyboards to startup the pc
Keychron K4 (Version 2) Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. 96% Layout but Compact. Wireless or Wired. Bluetooth 5.1. For Mac and Windows. Optical or Gateron Switches. Connect up to 3 devices. Inclined bottom frame. 15+ RGB Backlight. Dedicated caps lock indicator light.
something like that ?
look for compact 96% layout and you'll probably find more of those
an yes it hurt my eyes too, but it's always a matter of preference
45 mbps on steam btw
is epomaker a good brand? or do I just stick to the redragon I'm eyeing with better features (for me) and around the same price?
What price
I reccomed the Keychron v series if you want to spend a bit more
Epomaker and red dragon aren’t the best but they are keyboards
I can't, not available here
availability here is very limited and pricing means that i'm not gonna be a keyboard enthusiast any time soon, so I'm stuck with prebuilts
so I would like to pick one out that works without any fatal flaws
Those should be fine for your needs
great, another question if you dont mind, have you ever heard of thermaltake keyboards?
Nah
there is one here for near half the price and 90% of the features I want, but I've seen 0 reviews for it
I assume thermaltake isn't big enough of a brand that their stuff is guaranteed to work "fine enough"?
Maybe
alright thank you, the specific models I was thinking about were
Redragon k550
Epomaker Skyloong GK108
Thermaltake tte pro neptune
if anyone knows anything specific about any of them
does anyone know how to change what keys on a key board do what but only on one specific key board so i can have 2 plugged in at the same time
I disassembled my redragon k635wbr and I'm having trouble putting it back together, mainly the membrane macro keys
It's like the membrane strip thingy isn't supposed to be there
Nvm I "fixed" it
What boards
a keyboard
dawg what the fuck is that
that shit looks like my dead grandma
dawg no it aint
yours looks like it came out of a 1000 degree oven
Yours looks like the table in the last supper after jesus and his homies all ate
Ya which one
I think corsair and razer software can set that on hardware side
If it's just generic boards, you can use what taran used

As far as I know, most of Razer's keyboards that use a cross / plus style keyswitch top are compatible with most Cherry MX keycaps.

opinions on invyr holy pandas?
what he said
dayum give me a sec to read this dissertation
This seems to be an extremely historical document as in its documenting history and variation in panda switches but not really giving any opinion
great observation
Holy pandas are overhyped by content creators
All I meant Is I wanted an opinion not a "this is when they release and what they basically were" document
i would just get feker pandas, theyre way cheaper to get and easier to find
theyre also super over hyped to the point that they are their own branch of mid/strong tactile switches
any mid/strong tactiles after invyr HPv1 is now called a panda clone
if you like tactiles try tactiles, dont follow the trend
Does that mean they are overhyped or are they just popular enough to have made a trend?
overhyped
both really, not that it means anything
they dont contradict each other
fair
You should try topre instead 👍👌🙏
i agree

if they still even have the keys
exactly
Temu keycap lololo
so i've been designing my dream keyboard for a while. i basically want a mechanical anansi, but i've been told you can't just drop a pcb into a membrane keyboard so i've been trying to design around having to 3d print my own case. i could do case in 2 halves on my fdm printer but i think the resin printer would be better. so i thought what if i make it in smaller parts, i could have the numpad be a separate module with magnetic pogos to attach to the dkeys. then those would attach to the right alpha, which would attach to the right alpha, then the macros and tkeys would be 2 other modules. all connected that way. then i got to thinking why not just make them separte modules taht can connect that way but ALSO each have their own uMC and coordinate using a BLE mesh network. do you guys think having 7 seperate modules which talk to a central module is a dumb design for a keyboard?
How much
If its that like 20$ im happy
Is that the one with choc switches
Or choc style switches, I should say
Could just have separate macropads if you trying to make them ble
The main thing you'd be missing is layering functionality, since QMK doesn't actually sent a keystroke when you do layer triggers
So like, you couldn't use a layer trigger on one board and have it effect a second board
was actually going to write my own firmware. 😛
but i'm confused why making macro pads would be better than what i describe since the desired end reslult is an anansi which is a keyboard not a macro pad...
the idea of ble was just so i could have them on mesh like how vr controllers talk to your headset. there doesn't need to be any pairing because they are made to be a unit.
having them on mesh seems better than having them as separate full fledged keyboards as each keyboard would need to be paired to teh computer individually in a non mesh setup.
What is that
When i take it off its white
It was the clicky model
Picture of the switch?
Like have a macro pad instead of the thumb cluster
a macro pad serves a different function. the thumb cluster(tkeys) are a convenient way to trigger the modifier keys in every combination. mkeys are the macro keys.
You can set a macropad to do that in qmk
And have them shaped however
Physical modules could work if you develop a connecting mechanism, usually they handle communication between halves with trs connectors or USB c
i'm sure. but the tkeys are honestly the least complicated thing in the whole setup. they will jsut be 7 tact switches wired into an rp2040...the hard part as i said is constructing the physical chassis. but by constructing it of sub modules it could be 3d printed. my main concern is if it's dumb to have the separate modules as separate stand along devices that talk to eachother on a mesh similar to smart home appliances/vr controllers.
The matrix just has to be there
Physical chassis can be w/e, there's tons of resources for 3d print or stacked acrylic/pcb material cases
as i said, my issue is producing it. i could do something which would feel very much 3d printed on my LFP FDM printer, but by doing submodules i could do it on my resin SLA to get a much better feeling chassis. again my main concern is if the idea of having 6 independant uMCs that each handle a module and coordinate with a central uMC which handles the talking to the computer is dumb.
Just seems overengineered
With the aio3 tool, you can mock up something you can cut with a laser cutter easy at a nearby makerspace
nearby makerspace? you live somewhere highly populate...
i live in south dakota. i've been trying to open my own makerspace for 2 years now but can't get seed. i'd be the first makerspace in the whole area that isn't for SPECIFICALLY wood working or knitting...yeah one of the 2 makerspaces i found was a knitting get together.
yeah
those are proprietary
you can kinda use choc keycaps but you have to sand them down
i have the keycaps still but they are broken the plastic thing that connects them
is it stuck in the switch?
No
broken off and forever gone
Cant find it anymore its too small
I can still put my spacebar on but its loose
And my c key falls off with one press
Im thinking of gluing keycaps back on
The color without the rgb is like white
Not purple
Other than that they look the same
Is that the lighting?
if it works as a keyboard
I want to get a mechanical keyboard cause my dollar store membrane keyboard doesn't detect keystrokes unless I really push it down
its a step forwards ig
ok
quality is probably terrible and maybe it would break in a month but whatever
ok
You can get replacements on taobao
do you think I can build my own on amazon for cheaper?
not on amazon
newegg?
aliexpress maybe
21 dollar can get you very little anywhere
if you can just save up
then you can get like a redragon for around 30
kids like those i think
I'm on a tight budget I just resell my old tech to buy new ones but my old tech is older than me
yeah, the brother of my friend wanted to give me one with missing keys because he plays fortnite and rages
yeah kids love those
is this called 80%?
would 60% be cheaper to build
yes
what's the name of the pcb and case for the keyboard? without switches nor keycaps
base?
You won’t be able to build jack shit with 20$
sol?
Shit Out of Luck
ok
Isn’t it straight out of luck
No that’s like what it means though isn’t it
yes
straight out of luck makes sense
both does
never heard the expression "to be shit out of"
thats not how that works
I don't make the rules🗣️
what rules
engrish
who made rules for these
what rule are you even referencing
there isnt even context to your statement
don't hate the player hate the game
twat
whatever you make sense out of it
Ah it’s Aussie slang
youll need more than keycaps for a keyboard
I don't get it why do most keyboard switches come in group of 45 if a 60% keyboard have 62 keys
I don't want to get a 40% keyboard how am I going to type numbers
what
why dont you want a consistant feel on each keys
?
grams of force
ok
I'm only missing a base for the keyboard
idk the name to search for
60% hot swappable blank keyboard base?
a mechanical keyboard pcb alone is 30?😳
this should be the case, pcb and switches for 18$ tho🤨
yeah i got mine for cheaper lol
omg
c'est le meme chose 💀
the switches are ass though
but i got them for like idk a dollar for the whole pack so i just have them lying around...
how are these? anyone ever used aluminum keys? https://amzn.eu/d/d1OL0Nr
these are not made of aluminium.
ça ma l'ai d'être une arnaque non?
Nvm I'm dumb I sent the wrong ones
https://amzn.eu/d/3rUPdqn
These are aluminium*
je le prend tu?
ok these are aluminium, theyre much heavier than your average keycap, and also they dont grip on as much so if you flip your board it might fall out, theyre also cold
🥶
Sounds.... Interesting
just get regular keycaps unless theyre artisans
i have one for my esc key, which negates all these problems
An aluminium one?
non? ça c'est le mien mais je l'ai trouvé sur taobao
mais c'est plus bon si tu trouve un qui a plus de bon "reviews" (mon français n'est pas très bien 😭)
it'll be reliable if there's more reviews bc then it's less likely a scam
(haven't been scammed before on aliexpress)
you didn't get scammed on yours and my listing is sketchy asl
it's hot swappable right? can I get the link when you're up
what's this layout called?
I need a zhang number to sign into taobao
75%
yep it is
?? idk i didnt place the order my dad did
aliexpress is ok, my listing looked the exact same
75
i mean i've gotten keycaps from even sketchier posts so you'll be fine as long as you find one with a decent amount of reviews
weird chinese translation, I just needed my phone number
ah
although it's hard to navigate taobao tbh
can he tell you?
?
the link of the product
ah
i'm sure aliexpress will be fine 😭
taobao is harder bc everything is in chinese
and you have to make sure it can ship over and stuff
ok
its not that hard
it's harder than aliexpress
use it enough and you'll memorize what everything does
if you want to look for something just use the photo scanner
that thing is uncanny
lol yeah but i'm lazy
:( failure chinese kid cannot read chinese moment
one of the moments of all time
😭
good edit 🤓
