like we talking G305 double clicking level issues? because I hardly notice that but I it has occurred to me over time
worse
yes
like pulsar tells you to just put on 20ms of debounce
and only if it still doubleclicks will they send you a replacement
but doesnt the XD7 have the same switches?
new ones don't
also for fantech ik the support will actually replace your mouse if you have unreasonable issues with it
says on amazon Kaihl GM8.0
yea is not up to date anymore
new models swapped to a gold plated switch
which doesn't have the same issue
you could of course solder in a different one yourself
casually thinks I have a soldering iron or the time to bother
yea I know why I didn't immediatley recommend it
mouse switches are not the easiest thing to desolder usually
you also could go the memier route
https://mechkeys.com/products/zaopin-z1-pro-3395-mouse
but I sure hope you like a white mouse
actually reg z1 should be fine as well
only oddity on that is that the charge port is at the back
don't ask me why
just is
non pro one specifically
Leaning towards MM712 after so more thinking about what I want. The performance issues were mostly fixed in a firmware update awhile ago.
so it should be fine
I'd be careful about that

cooler master likes to "fix" things
but then either not fixing them
or making them worse
why is keychron horrible for gaming again?
latency is fairly high
but I don't think for most people its high enough to matter
according to rtings (take it with a grain of salt) 11.1ms
so not good
but also not horrible
doubt it will matter unless you are like top single digit player in a comp game
esp since it is typically much less critical on a keyboard
if you wanna minmax you can only pick soemthing with good rapid trigger anyways
since that shits on the whole competition for repeated presses
too bad you can't really test that well
people who spam crouch in FPS are the worst and i hate it
it's not just for crouch
like in valorant for example you want the ability to spam strafe
and in general you want the keyboard to react quickly to what you are doing
which rapid trigger is just better at
so you get 4 options atm
wooting, razer analog, drunkdeer, the new realforce gaming board
out of those the first 2 are a cut above the latter 2 in implementation
what abt the Z15 he sent me?
and btw which wooting/razer analog/drunkdeer/realforce keyboards
does not have rapid trigger
never said it was
bro warum schreiben wir hier
idk
Anyone got any thoughts on CoolerMaster MM712 or Keychron M3? Looking at affordable replacements for a dying G305. Mainly for FPS, Claw Grip, USB C Rechargeable, and lightweight.
Brother what
I have played a ton of competitive on my v1 before I upgraded
11ms latency is not that much, y’all ain’t shroud
lmfao reading this and realizing we all started on, craptop keyboards or the PC bundled membrane and gamed at our peak
I’m going to buy a £20 Mechanical keyboard from Temu, I just thought I’d let you keyboard people know to piss you off

wooting 60he ( i think ) is the keyboard that support rapid trigger
Not against cheap, but I am against manufactured ewaste
Let us know if it's usable or if it's manufactured ewaste
I can send a link if you want
I haven’t ordered it yet so before I do, do you have any recommendations
🔥
nah temu 100% legit I just bought my whole setup off temu
4090 reaches 200 degrees as the power supply explodes
I checked they don’t sell gpus
temu is currently under investigation by the us government lmfao
speaking of realforce, surprised shortcircuit hasn't done a video on electrocapacitive keyboards yet? or have they?
false?
their main market ist japan
but it's readily available in NA and EU
they don't even have retailers lol
EU still has not gotten the R3 entirely
wowee
so many western retailers
realforce ain't the only electrocapacitive keyboard maker
leopold
fujitsu
fujitsu actively promotes hhkb in NA
realforce = pfu = fujitsu
yea, forgot about that
also all of them still made by the same company
and this doesn't really have any relevance to videos they put out
agree to disagree I guess
bruh it's literally an unboxing channel
that was the original purpose, yes
but even linus has said it has become more than that on a few occasions
leopold has some retailers but the larger ones all don't have stock of their topre boards
for keyboards that is really what they are
if not it is a really bad review channel
sicne plouffe does not seem especially well prepared for any of them
so it still is just unboxing + first impressions
and then possibly plouffe not figuring out how software works etc
as for other EC boards
also don't think that niz sells in the west directly?
🤷♂️ just thought it'd make for interesting content. maybe not necessarily for shortcircuit.
plouffe seems to be improving his knowledge? sometimes I'm not sure though
Plouffe is a dead end
But the techbros love him so I don’t think he’ll bother brushing up on his knowledge anytime soon
They relate to the dude I suppose
huh
dude has nothing to contribute to ltt
I think he's done some monitor content thats alright
mehh
oof. I don't agree with a lot of his keyboard takes but that's a hard disagree from me.
especially considering his main job is a writer
hmmmm
keychron has a new sub-brand
weird
I keep thinking it's Lemonkey
Can someone recommend me a good wireless keyboard for the rog ally? Like a smaller factor one
Do you want it for basic text input?
like a bluetooth 65%?
I have a Logitech k380 Bluetooth keyboard that I use for tablets and such
also i just realised the tiger 80 lite only has a pc plate
yeah i think of getting that one actually
will it do the jon for games
I need a second one, mine's the fluorescent orange one and I don't really like being out and about with it.
Tell me more about this mom
Be real with me is this way to much foam
Hey! I’m trying to find a reasonable keyboard for gaming and also typing use, these two I’ve been eyeing for awhile, I live in Canada (BC) so it’s kinda hard to find good keyboards. If anyone has any other suggestions for this price range or which they think will be better would help greatly
Additionally, I want a keyboard with thockier switches, (browns and other stuff like that)
I'm currently using a blackwidow v2, and im needing an upgrade as my "S" key and a few others are on the fritz. I was leaning towards the huntsman v2 tkl, (I have a razer mouse so I already am locked onto their software). Anyone using the huntsman or can recomend an alternative?
personally i would gladly pay any amount of money to not use their software, but if you have to, sure
I suppose I don't HAVE to, but with using a wireless mouse of theirs, I kinda feel stuck. I personally have never had any issues with the software or their products.... luckily
you know you could just get a keyboard that doesn't need a software to be installed?
wow who couldve thought about that
What would you recomend, strictly for gaming btw. I hardly use my pc for anything else these days.
Budget is $250 and under
probably like an akko or keychron to start with
yeah nefty board there
I've been doing my research, its just, I'm going off "reviewers", not people who actually use them daily lol
Ok so I'm trying to tape mod but one of the screws are stripped to get in is there anyway I can get in
@junior condor do you have a tiny screwdriver you don't care too much about?
I was able to get some stripped one out by adding a tiny amount of superglue to the screw and attaching the screwdriver, letting it dry, then slowly twisting it out.
You can also try a rubber band
yea that didnt work
oh?
Holly I didn't even realize mine is this bad
Is that like too far gone
Drill it
use your teeth
Yeah, you might need to drill it. I had an old screwdriver, so I just laid down some super glue, stuck the screwdriver onto it, then twisted and it worked. You might kinda ruin it though if you can't get it off the driverm
I also can confirm using teeth works
hallo
What colour switch is the best
It's preference ... there's no best
browns
black
I raise you a Choc Mini Black with custom 20gf springs.
Wut
What 😭
browns are the worst cherry brand switch ive ever used
by far
highest failure rate in terms of contacts wearing out and chattering and then also unpleasant to type on
atleast the click jacket cherry switches have some amount of tactile feedback and are less prone to contact bouncing falling outside the debounce window after only months of use
anything that does not have a 5-10ms debounce window on it in firmware will shit the bed after browns start to wear
double and triple typing characters in words
blue/green switches actually felt crisp to type on with feedback and then browns felt like a tiny bump like there was gum stuck to the side of the switch stem or something
would rather use linear at that point
browns gud
worst part about it is that its one of the most used switches in cheaper keyboards and low end gaming keyboards as an option since they only offer red/blue/brown/silver
their "only" option for tactile unless they get a hotswap and replace every switch or desolder it
or go custom
if the only tactile switch 90% of people have ever used is browns then ofcourse they think its great until they use something better
i like browns
Bro that screw 😭 did it owe you money or what
💀
it came stripped already and i madew it worse 😭
Is the keyboard hot swappable?
You tried using a rubber band and a screwdriver to unscrew it?
Or not
That’s like the first thing I’d try
I would try removing the adjacent switches and using pliers to twist the screw out
yea
yea
i tried to brah
idfk im doing it wrong or what
Which is more prefered: wireless or wired?
personally i wouldnt mind wired
for a keyboard i think it should be a non issue unlike a mouse which moves around a lot
Can anyone recommend a decent handrest? Just saw that the keychron V6 doesnt have one :,)
depends if you like soft ones or hard ones
do you guys think i can use a easy out tool
Guys i have blue switches 🥲
only this community would manage to strip a pcb bolt
its hand tight with a screwdriver
not to be used with a drill
i have one of those electric screwdrivers, its plenty enough
i think i saw one of those from :3ildcat
The wowstick?
Hi gas
yep
its got the power of a drill but compact like a screwdriver
hi
to be fair those screws are always dogshit and strip at the lightest touch
keymap i think Imma switch to
note: non legends autoshift and extra gaming layers not depicted
Hey guys, I'm trying to choose between 2 somewhat budget, roughly equal in price keyboards from Tecware. The Tecware B68+ and the Phantom+ Elite. The 68+ is a 68% keyb while the phantom+ elite is a TKL
I'm interested in them because 1) they're cheap, 2) they are hotswap switches and 3) they have wired, Bt and 2.4G wireless connection modes
I just want the quietest possible keyboard and I've tested both IRL and they're really quiet, although not as quiet as the FirstPlayer Lang MK980, but that's a 98 key and wired keyboard
Personally, I prefer the TKL layout. I find myself constantly needing to use the FN key for a few things I do frequently with the one board I have that is a 75% layout. However, the 68+ comes with better switches IMO. I haven't used Wraith switches a ton, but the Gats just feel and sound better to me. Switches are hot swappable so you can change them, but then you have to look at whether the additional cost is worth it.
hi
what's your recommendation on a good keyboard under 80$
Yeah, the FN row is definitely something that I use pretty often, especially with DCS. I probably won't swap the switches out immediately, I haven't found one I really like but I read about these haimu heartbeat switches, but idk where to buy them and they're pretty expensive when I consider shipping
Cannon Keys has them for about $11 for 36. Not too bad. They are also factory lubed so that saves you a lot of work. I'm not a bid fan of linear, but if you are looking for good factory lubed budget switches you can look at something like Akko Cream Yellow Pros. $11 for 45 at Divinikey.
Do they ship to malaysia?
Not sure on that but if so I doubt the freight will be good
That's true
Have you tried Wuque WS silent?
Keychron k1
keyboard
hello
hi gas
i got vial flashed, waiting on case and switches
shit i need screws
but should be able to get a build pic in a few days
prob gonna program the keymap in the meantime
my keymap is gonna be like 13 layers holy shit
7 in pic
1 qwerty for casuals
1 fps/generic gaming
3 for Diablo 2
and one for switching modes
might need to make a macro pad just for gaming
lol
Hi folks, I need some advice... I have myself a Keychron Q6. Great board. Only thing is, I'm in the UK and they use SFF RGB. Trying to find some decent PBT doubleshot caps to use with this keyboard is literally impossible (I've tried everywhere), so I'm thinking of getting rid for a new keyboard.. thing is I can't seem to find any that are UK-ISO and of as high quality as this.. Any ideas for a solution to either?
I should add I would highly prefer it to come with tactile switches, but I can can always replace them if needed....
Are there any aluminum keyboard kits or keyboards for $100?
bakeneko?
Monsgeek m series
And like molly 60
The kit itself is 100 usd for both I think but like shipping and taxes
Molly 60
Is group buy
what does sff rgb have to do with your request? are you trying to find doubeshot shinethrough keycaps?
Is that the real tres
Doubleshot PBT but have south facing legends, as almost all keycaps are north facing... and must be UK-ISO. I'm definitely thinking I'll need a different board as most are north facing. It's quite frustrating really.
have you tried shinethrough keycaps?
it won't matter where the legends are if they aren't shinethrough
and shinethrough keycaps will be just fine regardless of the legend and rgb placement
ngl I would not get an alu kit for that money
unless you order from taobao
hey @glossy sandal should i make a 40 version of the ortho 100 lol
where it accepts base kit
that is not true
If the LED is not directly below the transparent plastic you get the most wimp ass shine thru you've ever seen
source: my keychron
I can't vouch for this product but maybe a sidelit set will be easier to find, like this one
https://a.co/d/7HTTg6z
gotcha. Maybe there's a difference between clear double layer and frosted double layer. I assumed for frosted, it would diffuse the light well enough.
How is this so cheap?
could only find chinese review videos
LEOBOG Nimbus v3 switches
can't really tell from the quality of the video but it seems like the machine and/or coating quality isn't great
Same
I'm not buying it just curious
with that price you probably don't wanna see the working conditions of the factory it's produced in
Fr 💀
Anyone here
Sup
Ah! Can you help me decide on a keyboard
It's my first mechanical keyboard and I'm over the fence
They both cost almost the same
What's the prices in USD?
The cosmic has otemu blue switches, which I would personally not want to use
I prefer the layout of the cosmic, but the switches of the red dragon
I can swap the switches on Cosmic Byte
Keeping switches aside, which one should I go for
Yeah it just sucks to have to also buy some switches
So the red dragon has 2.4GHz RF wireless
How important is wireless to you
A little bit
I wouldn't use Bluetooth for gaming, personally, and the cosmic only has Bluetooth wireless
I think the red dragon is a better out of the box package
I would absolutely replace the switches on the cosmic, which makes it more expensive
Hardly I think hold on
Yeah I get 60 new switches for 8-12 dollars
Out here? These 2
I mean
Or too expensive
These are kinda off brands
If you don't mind replacing the switches, I like a knob, and the cosmic has a knob.
But I still think the red dragon is the better out of the box experience
Trust me. These are like Corsair and Logitech here
A keyboard without switches or keycaps
Damn
Are you sure
Yes
Well, I already said my thoughts
Sheesh
We got that nice 200% tax on PC parts and accessories if imported
Wtf
Got my A750 for $199
😑
I Really Hate my country for this
They also started Banning Steam recently
I guess it's time to leave
Lmao
Cos the TRADING section is considered "Betting"

Since I don't hate Blue switches ' Click, is comsic byte fine
The trading section is cringe but banning steam over it seems a little extreme
I already use Blue Otemu
Also, steam promotes self harm somehow
I'm so sorry
Hahaha. No I like the clicky loud obnoxious aounds
Sounds
Cos I suck at typing unless I'm SURE I pressed the key without looking down
@urban panther What about aesthetics
What's wrong with your current board
What fits better here
The red dragon is ugly as fuck
Sometimes keys register twice on 1 click and sometimes don't register
Don't spill shit on the new board
Oh well, there we go 🤣
Dude I never spilled anything
Uh huh
I use blower on my PC every Week
To keep it clean
And use tooth brush to clean keyboard every 2 weeks
Don't eat on PC desk
Wash my hands
Yeah but it's not my desk and not my money. My aesthetic preferences aren't a concern here
I'm a germophobe
I showed you my setup. What's more pleasing in this setup
Apple magic keyboard
Why do you want me to make the decision
Cos I literally can't decide
And you seem experienced veteran
Yo you already decided
You clearly want the cosmic or whatever it's called, but you also want validation
Don't seek validation. Just buy whichever you like more
You didn't have to call me out like that
👁️👄👁️
Even I didn't realise but that's 100% true
I tell it how I see it
The contrast of colors between your Dualsense and the mousemat beneath it.
I meant among the 2 keyboard I provided which one would fit in my set up
Just pick one
Since I can't make up my mind, you need to make up yours
Nah. I'm jk. I ordered the cosmic one
Shit costs 3 Times 💀
@urban panther Does i5-12400 Bottleneck 3060 (12GB)?
Sell the 3060 and get arc
Lmao.
Does anybody know how to disable macro ?
I guess i somehow enabled macro on my keyboard and now its irritating
I am pressing "W" its enabling caps lock
Pressing win key opening mail and more telll mr eht to do
Keyboard: Cosmic byte cb-gk-02
Idk much about keyboards is $50 good for double shot keycaps, per key rgb, hot swappable blue outemus, and a 80% layout
maybe cb-gk-12 manual would help? https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81NI+xdQKML.pdf
couldn't find one for your specific model
I will try it thnx for taking time
Picked up Model O Wireless for $50 to hopefully replace dying G305
Nice!
Lol
Hey All,
Keyboard Recommendations needed
Looking for similar aesthetic to Ducky One Mini. (White pref)
Wireless wanted
Needs to be full OR can be TKL w/ Num pad separately
Transitioning to a Work from home situation and my current Mini keyboard wont cut it for work related stuff.
40%
45%*
35%
'tis the best
okay 75% is fine too
65% is my go to now
Kinda miss my f-row sometimes depending on what I'm playing
I feel like you should either have a full sized kb, like I use for work. Or the absolute smallest you can go while functioning in your games
eh
I fail to see the point in losing the F row
It's useful for everyday computing and I don't put my mouse behind my keyboard
how are the switches
squish
Does anyone know of a QMK keyboard that has the same layout as the K4
https://www.keychron.com/collections/custom-keyboards/products/keychron-v5-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard is this too far off for you?
The fully assembled version includes: ABS plastic housing The keyboard PCB, screw-in stabs, and the steel plate Double-shot OSA PBT keycaps (including Mac & Windows keycaps) Keychron K Pro switches The barebone version does not include the keycaps and switches. No discount codes can be used for V5. Please drop your
I saw the V5 but I wish it was just as compact as the K4 I thought about a TKL and then just getting a seperate keypad for the left side
anyone knows where to get localized pbt keycap sets ?
i can basically only find either abs AZERTY or pbt QWERTY
what is the difference between the two? I've heard them used interchangeably
96 specifically is not exploded
like the one in that image
1800 is more like the one I sent in
with blockers between alpha cluster, arrows, numpad, f keys etc
for reference an original g80-1800
there are variations of it like 1800compact/frl 1800
Hello I have reddragon shadow blade mechanical keyboard but it's keys are automatically triggering while clicking one key
Any solution to solve this problem and can anyone suggest a new low budget hot swappable mechanical keyboard
can you be more specific? which key triggers others?
and is there a pattern? like does it trigger other keys in that column or row?
It started with numpad 1=m 2=j 3 = i
But now random c v press from 1234 row (non numpad)
my keys randomly spam at any moment ,,,, making it impossibleee to do much
broke// short circuited??
yes
can any1 help my huntsman mini isn't working when I try to type
is it plugged in
ive been told that the gmmk pro isnt a good board for 108 bucks but i cant seem to find any other aluminum case boards for that price on amazon at least
does anyone know of any other options or is that a good buy
looking for a metal case prefferably wireless 75% keyboard
or well i suppose i could go with my first choice from a while back of the akko 5075b plus
its not metal but it fits what i need and is only 100
Once built the keychron q 1 is still cheaper than the gmmk pro
i need a new keyboard, sadly my budget is only 40 bucks. Any good ones?
gk61 hotswap base of ali express for 20, a set of keycaps, switches for under 20
i’ll send links
lol feker pandas
fake pandas essentially but theyre just a different switch entirely
it’s hotswap so you could get any switch just make sure the pins align
theyre pretty good actually
hm
i would’ve bought them but i sold my custom gk
give them a try
ive decided to just mod my old ducky board
im also debating if i should mil-max it
Got a bit of an emergency situation, bought a keychron q4 a few months back (feb) and have experienced multiple keycaps breaking. Doing some research into it it looks like there's some QC problems with their caps.
My LShift just broke, and obviously that's the last key you want to break. I need some replacement caps ASAP (preferrably from amazon so I can do next day shipping), recommendations?
I'm particuarlly interested in steelseries prism but I'm not sure if they're any good, ik steelseries is a great brand but wanted an opinion first before buying
Crisis averted: Found an old keyboard I can use for the time being.
That being said, recommendations on custom caps? No longer needs to be from amazon
just ask keychron for replacements
solution: dont buy keychron
And have them break again?
I love literally everything about the board, I just want new keycaps
have not heard of issues from many people so you might just have gotten a bad batch one
I found a reddit tread (link incoming) about several people having the same issues I've had from about 2 months ago
I mean it is worth giving that a try
if they break again maybe look for alternatives
I already contacted them for replacements and it's taken like two weeks, still no caps
oof
I got fed up when LShift broke, like you literally NEED that key
any generic 25 or 30 dollar PBT set from amazon would be better
trust me I have seen way worse
some shitty PBT dyesubs won't be better
I want Pudding keys ngl, those look sick and tickle my RGB spot
but I don't know your budget, colorscheme you want etc
pudding caps are alls bad quality
F
and all come from the same 2-3 factories
They do look cool though
Regardless
Budget $75, color scheme is preferrably warm grey with accent mod keys (something that'll go nice against silver metal)
I mean beige always works
Beige would legit work here XD
No black or white though
Black mod keys might look nice though
Preferrably cherry profile
maybe?
Eh, not a fan of that color
fair
I don't like those colors on the esc/spacebar/enter either
are you in the US?
I am
so I know what vendors to look for
ok
just fyi so you know what I mean when I say "beige"
I can use the rest of that budget for some good mod keys too
I'll probably get an artisan ESC too lol
bruh why are they all preoccupied with weird versions
👀
that set is oem not cherry but it was high quality when i used it on a previous keyboard
that is like the second worst set of doubleshots I have seen
and the other one was 10 bucks on aliexpress
was higher quality than a vortex PBT doubleshot set i used a while ago
complete shit with LED bleeding through around the legends and weak plastic
@muted karma to give you an idea for color scheme this is currently doing things for me XD
I mean for 80 bucks you can get that with some decent quality
PBTFans Dolch reimagines a timeless keycap colorway. This double-shot retro grey set featuring bright green and red accents is a must-have in any collection. Specifications: Material: PBT Profile: Cherry Production Method: Doubleshot Manufacturer: PBTfans Packaging: Hard ABS Keycaps Tray Compatibility: Compatible wit
I can live with $80
and support keys that would be able to use them on a 65% etc
Base set includes everything?
base set is this
I've got a TKL so not a problem
Okay that's perfect
oooh and Mac keys
Thanks a ton, I'll be buying that
where ups with my key caps bleh
On its way, thanks again @muted karma
(I'll be sure to send pictures once the keys are installed lol)
Thoughts on this keyboard?
AJAZZ AK873-75% Wired Gaming Keyboard with Coiled Usb C Cable-Hot Swappable Red Switch Mechanical Keyboard-LIGHTSYNC RGB TKL 80% Compact 87 Keys PBT Keycaps-Detachable Magnetic Upper Cover for PC/Mac https://amzn.eu/d/g7uPkfJ
Was planning on getting it before prime day ends
But not sure if I should get or if there is better for same price
I mainly like 75% as 60 feels to small but can compromise on a 60 if its that good
What's the difference between keychron v series and k series?
Hello
They're very similar, K isn't programmable, and hot swapping is optional
V is like the plastic version of the Q line, programmable + hot swappable
Plus a transparent case option
V only comes with Keychron's in-house switches
K comes with Gaterons
(K also has an option for an aluminum case)
thanks!
what are some decent options for a under $100 75% keyboard with media keys.
what is a good mechanical keyboard to get for a new pc. something that is budget friendly but is also not to cheap. im thinking with brown switches. any recommendations?
i was thinking keychron but i wasnt sure
would a knob suffice?
as long as the knob lets me skip songs
i never adjust windows volume so volume control is not as important as skipping, pausing, and going back
keychron v1 then
knob version should be around 94$
you can remap it for media skip/back pause/play
neat, thanks
little more info on it https://youtu.be/mB-QRUf0WpM
An overview on what you can program the knob to do with your Keychron Q5 keyboard. I walkthrough the VIA menu options and how to set up the knob to be a volume control or to double as a mouse-scroll wheel. There are tons of other options as well as custom macros available to personalize the knob and make it special.
A viewer asked, can it be us...
Keyboard noob just want to check out what's out there, what keyboards are you guys buying this prime? I'm from Canada so probably can't get the US deals
I'm open to all sizes, 60% to 100%, budget $20-100, for gaming and general browsing.
@glossy sandal
it’s
it’s Doug!!
sure is
you are not him
who
him
Ahh my keybord is randomly going in macro mode like itself (i switch off laptop in night nit any macro enabled and next morning i see that marco is enabled . I press "w" capslock gets on/off . I press "P" open closed bracket gets pressed too. I press "O" P gets pressed as well. I press win key mail opens and more .) keyboard is like ~2 yrs old. Is it time to replace?
CB-GK-08
which at least is doubleshot
not reverse dyesub
true...
not to say that epbt can't make nice keysets
but legit have not seen 5-side dyesub that doesn't look shit
Hi again everyone, I have added another budget keyboard to the list I am interested in. trying to choose between the Redragon k632 pro, Tecware B68+ and the Tecware Phantom+ Elite.
The K632 pro is a 60% keeb, but it has a secondary layer for fn keys, which I need
They're all budget hotswap, wireless keyboards, with the K632 Pro being a low profile which I might find more similar to my laptop which I use for classes
I just have no idea how good the stock switches are on the Phantom+ Elite and the K632 Pro
o the Milky is bc i forgot the fn key, i only ordered 36 silents
nice. salvaged one myself for the switches
what should i home my thumbs on? upside down r4 cherry?
I like that numpad placement
Keep everything centered
I'm so mad, I bought my Keychron Q3 a month or two before Keychron dropped the Q3 Pro
It was long enough to be outside the return window
Or I could just complain to customer support about the broken keycaps and request a refund XD
centered numpad? 🤔
No, as in it's on the opposite side of the board from the arrow keys
You'll use combos a lot ? @cunning anvil
Yeah
Some things like escape, enter, tab etc are neat to have under a combo
Things you press only once but need it to be fast still
Also look at mod tapping if you don't know about it
currently using homerow mods
With colemak
Colemak+home row mod = perfect combo
You don't move your fingers anymore
haha ya
The learning curve was rough though x)
i basically use modified miryoku rn
Also combining colemak+home row+ tiling windows manager = heaven
I started with that too
i wanna use sub 30 keys at one point
okay back to the realm of not dumb: jlcpcb has a deal for things under 100mm x 100mm. thats just enough for a 5x5 macropad? or. 4x5 with a dedicated row for logic and pro micro, 2 of which could make a single 40% board
Brighter then your future keyboard. Impulse meme build from things I got off Amazon on prime day just because
What keyboards have rly low travel, considering that since I type so fast on my iPads Magic Keyboard and like the short travel, I might like a more low profile keyboard
So far, I’ve found the Keychron K3 Ultra-Slim
But idk if thats the best
Anyone know any good keyboards or keyboard and mouse combos from best buy? My budget is around 100$ cad
Look at the Keychron S1 as well
It's a nicer version of the K3 Ultra-Slim
my keybaord feels delayed
there's one overkill rgb board from china that has like, 5 LEDs underneath the spacebar to light the whole thing
I forgot what it's called
oh yeah this thing
I feel like those NCR diffuser switches do make rgb brighter
or at least look brighter
I mean TTC
with the chunk of acrylic over the led
lol bright
just diffused better
Get a real world comparison of the brightness! hahaha
I don't think anything will be quite as bright as the KPU though
it's so bright you can see the logo reflected in the lens

At this point a clear mouse will do the trick
Ultimate clear setup
Looks really cool, thanks, too bad it’s unavailable 😭
My first build
not that bright but still
ayy nice. welcome to the club lol this won't be your last build
can you fix a solder point where the solder pad came off the copper plate?
can you reattach the solder pad back to the pcb? no
can you do something else to reconnect the missing link between the component and the traces? yes, you would need to solder a jumper cable from the ripped pad to the trace that the pad connected to
How to repair damaged / missing PCB pads is a nice , clear soldering tutorial showing 4 Great methods to fix your PCB pad damage.
From easy to harder there is a method here for everyone to help you over your board issues .
With clear photographs after every stage this tutorial should help you along the way to get your boards up and running again...
this should help you
that looks quite complicated
currently dying on which switch to buy for gaming, so went for akko green switch cuz why not
sounds thocky, i like it
And I accidentally broke the outeron red switch due to it being stuck
what wire is he using to fix the pad? solderwire?
he uses the lead of a resistor
ah
otherwise ive seen people uses a normal electric wire as the jumper cable
might have to dig around and find some leftover pcb's then
but that would require you to a: know where the trace of the pads continue and b: remove the pcb coating to expose the traces so that you can solder in the wire
my L and Q key done goofed on my roya kudge keyboard
Pic 1 is the L key, pic 2 and 3 is the Q key
bridge the socket to the transistor looking thing
im surprised
q works now
l worked for a second
but i dont think this keyboard is saveable
most other keys are kinda unresponsive as well
i had hoped maybe i can salvage this keeb but nope
thats kinda mean
fortunately i managed to fix it
somehow
so thanks for the motivation
the keeb is still kinda unresponsive but atleast all of the keys arent straight dead
ah just dont type q and l then problem solved
if i cant tye q then how am supposed to ask a question
You would need to glue down the hotswap socket and run a wire to the relavent connnections
i installed an encoder on doug
looks like i need to get used to homerow mods on mx though
keep locking by accident
example of why kailh hotswap boards suck
that socket style has no real mounting to the pcb
just weakly held on by the solder pads
you have to place it on a hard surface when swapping switches or epoxy/glue the sockets down to the pcb if you dont want that happening whenever you insert a switch with a leg that is 0.01 degrees out of alignment
when one of my keyboards did that just superglued the socket back on and then soldered enamel wire jumper
solder is less trouble than having that bullshit happen
pov you spent hours figuring out how to model stabilizer holes just to learn that you can literally just make rectangles
Nice
are all mechanical keyboards nkey rollover/anti ghosting by default?
metal pipe
does anyone have any recommendations on a keyboard that i can get that is good for gaming and sounds nice? i also prefer wireless
logitech k330
no but most are 6kro at the minimum usually
some have switches on them or an option in the control/macro software to change from 6kro to nkro
actually good keyboards are nkro by default or customs that have the force nkro config option in qmk
If i can only afford bad keyboards, are bad mechanical keyboards worth stepping up to or do i just stick to the garbage office ones?
a good membrane keyboard is sometimes better than bottom tier mechanical keyboards
budget?
a default recommendation from me is usually from keychron
budget is around 100-150 aud
i got recommended razer black widow v3 hyperspeed
Gaming mech keeb huh
keychron k2 is a solid buy
aight ill check it out
if you have a bit more you can get a v2 with a knob
Do good membrane keyboards come at the same price as bottom tier mechanical keyboards?
Because if the good membrane keyboard is like $100 then it's a moot point
A logitech membrane is most of the time better than some 20$ mech keeb
No it isn’t
Have you tried a 20$ mechanical keyboard
Yes

hear me out
I'd rather use my logitech membrane than go back to my 20$ POS mechanical keyboarf
Which was your pos keyboard?
Local brand
OK 👍 👌
Sounds so hollow lol
Yeah Keychron K2 or V2 depending on the flavor you want.
Or the variants depending on your preference for keyboard size
I prefer TKL personally
Is it worth it to change my Razer Blackwidow V3 TKL for Ducky one mini 2?
100$ tho
not a bad price thought budget keyboards have gotten quite well over time
Lol looking into gaskey mounted keyboards
but ima wait for keychron to sell the Q1 Champage ediition on black friday so it sorta matches my Drop+Noctia Keycaps lol
maybe a one 3 mini if you can
The thing is that guy only has one 2 mini availble atm
keychron especially wireless models are really bad for gaming if you want a wireless gaming keyboard buy one with a dedicated USB dongle NOT bluetooth
their bluetooth wireless latency is approaching 30ms which starts to become fairly apparent
multiple frames at 60hz
also the most complained about feature of that brand in reviews is the bluetooth wireless
random disconnects and high latency
not sure why keychron is universally recommended for gaming when it is worse than basically anything but a bottom of the barrel redragon or GMMK for that usecase
their featureset is more geared towards people that care about sound/build quality/aesthetics not for performance and absolute minimum input lag
and even then its probably worse than a custom in that case
only way i would consider anything from that brand usable for gaming is if you use a QMK model wired and make sure that the config is setup to 1000hz polling/force NKRO/eager debounce
i dont think they know what any of that means
I have heard about ducky one mini 2 that it has a higher latency or something idk, I play competitive valorant
and some casual dota is that really gonna affect me currently i'm using blackwidow v3 tkl with green switches i'm kinda tired of it now and looking to change
Hello is the Monsgeek M5 DIY Kit good for 130€?
what switches / keys u recomend to buy in europe
thanks a lot please @ me
what's a good replacement keyboard for my cynosa chroma
Keychron k2
It’s pretty good
out of curiosity, how many number keys do people usually use in gaming?
1-4 for me
1-6 is pretty solid
i was wondering if 3 was enough, clearly not lol
unless youre playing arma, 3 is fine enough honestly
csgo and stuff like that
simple movement
Need it to bhop
scroll down to jump, scroll up to switch :^)
Doesn’t matter, movement inputs aren’t done on number keys
also nobody bhops in comp unless youre franzj
Damn can’t try to have fun huh
64 tick is ass
I try anyway what’s the issue
csgo is not even fun to begin with tf u mean
😭
The whole board
I count using spreadsheets and programming as gaming when I do it for runescape so yeah whole 108 key
better yet 2 keyboards
you can program and use spreadsheets on a 34% board
those hands are pretty
what a good transparent switches
thank you
No
idk what youre trying to ask
Still gaming keyboard or like, standard keyboard, but with RGB and a both wired and wireless capability but very good for typing
Idk what makes a keyboard good for typing
that is entirely up to your preference and i have no say in it
basically you have to try stuff out
personally some light to medium tactile works best

You can start with browns or reds
I started with reds but turns out i like heavier switches so i got some gateron yellows
If i had the money i'd get some blacs
I was thinking browns bc they’re quieter, I don’t like the massively loud clicks that my cousins I think he has blue switches???? Has
If you want quite get linears
And depending on the switches they can also be smooth
I like the feel of mechanical, I don’t mind some clicky noise, it’s just that I’ve heard reds and blues irl and they loud asf compared to what I want
usually if its still loud then its probably the keyboard itself
so you might want to get something low profile so there's less travel and less sounds from the keycaps
the most quite keyboard i know is a laptop keyboard, so low profile with shallow keycaps and some sound dampening in the keyboard might work wonders
Or just get silent switches
or that
those two examples don't even operate on the same mechanism
just stop talking
you have no idea what you're saying
damn bro chill
perplexed
Not me, my cousin
I like low profile in my current ipad keyboard
I don’t some sound but like, nothing typewriter level
keychron k2
guys whats the best keyboard under 80 bucks
I’m so annoyed I can’t quite type 130wpm, the highest I’ve gotten is 127wpm and 129wpm
Anything keychron
Sell your drop boards before they force you to install icue to use haha
can't force you to do shit if you have qmk + via on it
What are some keycaps like the gmk Inukuma
I may or may not have spilled ramen on my keyboard
I turned it off and assume the best course of action is isopropyl alcohol?
ye
idk if its just me but i feel like spending 20$ on keycaps is a lot, i mean maybe im wrong and there is a good reason they are soo expensive but anyway i would like an XDA profile key cap set that is not girly but would look good on a black Nuphy halo 65
Lol if you think $20 is expensive for keycaps, you haven’t seen a quarter of it
no key caps are not my thing lol i know there are rlly expensive ones like artisan but i dont even know much about that either
$20 is as cheap as it gets
Hey guys I'm looking for a 100% keyboard with speed silver switches. Any recommendations?
i have use on my workbench i like it.
you can tell it's hp cuz of the crummy warning sticker on it.
i use this elsewhere most of the time.
i dont really like this one as much because it doesn't have any media keys and the typing experience, while good, is boring
yeah yeah ik i could just use keymapping software but i dont want to have to fiddle around with that, ugh
...but if you know of a really really good, stable software for that then please let me know!!
i also got some t1s
bruh
:^)
is the keychron k12 better sounding or the razor blackwidow v3 hyperspeed mini?
What’s that
Asking this question is like asking which ice cream flavor is better
true that 😂
harbour 65 se
I like it ngl
I’m getting a 75% royal kludge
bit of a far cry from what i have but ok
just found this for 100€ im very tempted
tho im not too sure how to deal with the interface
probably not to hard to convert to usb
the seller also has a ps2 model m
im gonna get one but i dont know which one
its a 75%
relax
well well well i ended up buying both the model m and the m122
i could never, the fingerprints would drive me insane
atrocious
looks good
What a good keyboard with tactile switches?
Preferably 90%> size
I’ve heard the gmmk2 is not bad is that still so?
never was good
at least not a good deal
unless you can get it for ridiculously cheap
gmmk shit brand
poor build quality and really bad software
glorious modular keyboard
glorious in general does not have any enticing products tbh
