no you are not reading type of texture is subjective rough or smooth
quality of material is objective
I prob have a much higher level of education than you
so how is gmk material bad
yes you only post memes like a kid i get that
it shines faster than pbt
but revan obviously knows more
this is objective
he knows all
friction of pbt clearly shines faster than abs
lol
do you eat kfc at your desk while typing
I’d rather Popeyes
are you gonna say gmk is perfect
chipmunk h
i wanna get 21kb beige space cadet
everything has flaws lol
there is no other manufacturer that does anything better than gmk
i have non i am perfect
for gmk it’s wait times and price (which is fair)
be quiet
awh dang
@cunning anvil jc studio is a new beige maker
😔
people paying 400$ for a set of keycaps that gmk sourced from alibaba on a pallet
they pretty cool and cheap
revan alt !!!!
REVAN IS ALTING
don’t worry bout him
Its all from the same factory
wooting ghostrider
???????
it all comes from china
like people buyign supreme shirts taht are quality of gildan
im losing so many brain cells
your clones are the equivalent of gildan shirts lmao
Quality already low in china because of labor rates
like apple overpriced they use awful hardware and sell it as premium products
still produced in asia
no its not they have machines in their factory
and they source abs pellets to use
dummy
bro if you dont believe anything no ones gonna convince you
Terminally online losers need to cope about their $400 placebo plastic
No convincing you
tbh I'll prob just get whatever i can find cheap lmao
HAHAHAH
wooting owners needing to cope with buying 200$ board and still dying in video game
im gonna buy a wooting
you’re buying a uwu
yea :3
uwu
uwu
cute
so much cool jcstudio stuff I’ve seen on tb
i think the oil makes dust stick to things
cheaper than 21kb lolz
Also they’re like 20$
20$ and buy 5 sets
pay like 50$ ship
me rn
did you hear they’re remaking kbd8x
based beige
so real
I hate centered
eh
SA I can give it a pass
just don’t like centered in general
see i cant tell shit from not shit so i just buy whatever
only in kb
im more into the layout than anything else
My arias shipped ⭐
woooooooo
Ye
just get a r2r for like around a grand
remind me which is Doug again?
infernum/katana stagger
Ohhh
show me a nonuniform colemakdh set and i might use it
ye fair
i use uniform because i cant find the legends lol
i do wish i had proper homing keys
isn’t the entire point of uniform is that you can change around keys
Buy brother or something idk
what’s uniform cherry again? CAM?
uniform R0 cherry
oh so funny thing doug got one pcb with a scratch so ig jlc is sending a coupon now? p cool, not like i use more than one pcb per batch
R5 best
Coolio
gonna design the full-size full-size Ortholinear thing?
uh, the 100 or 1800
1800% is too big, indefinitely shelved ;-;
Full-size tkl when
ill prob learn auto routing first
Did bavaria finally defect?
oh gas i think imma get the case for 100ortho with dougs, so that might be soon after doug
Think so
pretty big case lol
3dp?
The state where gmk produces
maybe another rev
hello :3
shut up
😔
why are you so mean i just joined
Riskable keyboard be like
whats that
best dye-sub I’ve tried has been crp
anyways i gotta grind cows, cyall
reverse dye-sub is fine if the studio does it right
which is rare LOL
So far no studio did it right
Like best one is prob dsa drifter
But that still has the typical problems
Yes a manufacturer with millions of dollars in equipment, employees, and machines is just sourcing all of their keycaps from alibaba
Worst take I’ve seen in a while
surprisingly, i agree
with them?
with you
is that sa mhyde
oh ok lmao
no its Jason Goldstriker
fishtank man
i liked it when he starting weed wacking
#fishtank Jason Goldstriker goes on a rampage with his weedwacker
#amongus #samhyde #mde #fishtanklive #damnation #live #comedy #josie #jonathan #jasongoldstriker
the west has fallen
everyone knows the smartest people only watch opera and video game video essay
@glossy sandal why are you so mean to me
what'd he do?
NOOOOOOOOOOO
he is trolling and insulting in any conversation like many others refuse to let people enjoy stuff
🪞
this is a very common trend especially in tech servers but this is discord
its okay im into it :3

It's so easy to point fingers at the rest of the world for a different opinion yet no one thinks to look in the mirror. I have yet to see someone be toxic in this chat
There's a reason we are all free to speak in keyboard specific servers, and you are banned from them
Mhm
So let's be very careful about spreading misinformation about people,
^^^
What?
If you would please show us proof of that happening I would really appreciate it.
still have a half a pack left of mine... which means like 250 left.
I was gon come and say something silly and funny but some you Mfs beyond repair
what lol
Don't do that, that's toxic

Haha
Fr
good luck. they haven't been sold in like 5+ years? I live in Korea and I haven't seen any for sale in the domestic aftermarket in ages.
hello, i'm lubing switches right now, and i'm wondering if I should lube the top housing, where the stem collides, because in my brain it doesn't seem like it's going to affect anything since it's not sliding on it, but I saw some peoples do it, also, am I suposed to lube the part of the stem that collides the metal things on a tactile or is it just on linears ?
they are
anything less than 2 feet wide and 150 keys is poor for ergonomics /s
I literally just lube the stem
is it just lazyness tho ? or is it the best way of doing it
I dont notice a difference
but I definitely would say im lazy when it comes to lubing
i don't see any point in lubing top housing
but yeah even when I did care I didn't lube top housing
I have a weekend to fill up, so if it's mostly lazyness, i'm gonna do the bottom housing too
i do bottom, spring, and stem
also, should I (for a tactile) lube the part of the stem that touches the metal contacts ?
it is up to you
lubing that part can make it feel smoother but can reduce the overall tactility
well idk, I saw somewhere it made them less tactile, and I bought u4t because peoples says it's a super tactile or something
i'd suggest lubing 1 with that and 1 without and feeling them side by side
i lubed it on my tactile switches
ive left tactiles
I was going to do it anyway
tactiles are the best, linears are boring
if the switch has good factory lubing, no need to lube top housing
always lube the stem and leafs
they're just annoying to type on for a while
and clickys are the mutant baby of both
it's u4t's, so I believe it doesn't have any
yeah then lightly lube the top housing
also lightly lube the leaf
and i'm already 70 out of 100 disasembled anyway
pls don't apply too much to the leaf
I won't, I like tactility
yeah good
also, does a vanilla keychron q1 knob/v2 has a 'thonk' sound with gazzew boba u4t's ?
Is there such a thing as lightweight + tactile? I like very light keys, like 20gf
I wanted topre switches at the beginning, but I learned they don't sell it directly, and I don't like their keyboards
it's called a cherry brown, and it sucks
if you apply a thin layer of 3204//3203 to the leaf it won't affect tactility at all
ehhh
Those are 60gf usually
i think browns get too much hate
I want 1/3rd of the weight of Cherry Brown
well that's nice, the only lube I have is tribosys 3204
have you ever tried good browns
cuz IMO browns are nice
well, I own a k4v2 with mx browns, so it's buy experience
designer of u4t actually recommends not lubing them
also I DM'd you a guide. I'm new to this discord, not sure if I'm allowed to link videos.
it's the cherry browns, i'm sure other browns might be good, but cherry's browns are not great
as long as there is enough sound dampening you can make any keyboard sound deep
not saying they're the best switch or anything, but I find browns to be extremely fine, and i'd take them over a red any day
too late, and I prefer the sound lubed anyway
lubed, broken in cherry browns are good
well, reds are trash in my very opinion, they are at the same level has browns in my opinion
cherry reds are actually the worst switch ive used
I have my k4v2 with browns for 6 month now, still bad
have you ever tried broken in hyperglide browns
using stock cherry is the problem
exactly
remember... it's also about

they are really bad
there is also some bits of objectivty too, I mean, if you like poo it's your prefrence, but it's still poo
broken in cherry's are fine
have you ever tried broken in hyperglide mx browns
I dont even break mine in anymore
just changing half the switche then
one of my favorite typing experiences is still my nearly 10 year old Corsair K70 with mx browns
I don't have hyperglides I believe
you're literally only changing the spring
meh
maybe its nostalgia or something, but those switches feel decent
its just the spring
most stock springs are bad
I mean, you have 4 components in a switch, it's still a sizable chunk
least important part of a switch and its the easiest to replace
not that sizeable
so, you are too lazy to lube the enclosure but you swap every spring, that's funny
it takes way longer to lube the entire switch than swap springs
spring swap much easier than lubing
hours longer
I would argue it's still a pretty good part of the switch
sure
and most stock springs are pingy
if you're opening up the switch anyways to lube the springs, it takes basically no extra time to use a different spring instead
honestly, i'm just building a little castle with the housings to take longer before lubing them
lol
lubing is like meditation, but boring'er'
who doesn't procrastinate while lubing switches
the u4t's i'm typing on now, I've only swapped and lubed the springs. didn't bother with the stem and I usually lube the stem in like 95% of my builds.
somebody who never lubed before
idk anyone who actually enjoys lubing
I have a friend who likes doing it
oh
there's some people that find it therapeutic
he's lubed a few hundred switches for me
lucky
I knew one, but it was because he was hospitalized because he broke his two legs, so he didn't have anything else to do
ye when I buy switches I just send them to him most of the time lmao
personnaly, I prefer doing it my self, cause my life is empty, and it fills the time
well, i'm still studing, I just don't have friends, because peoples in real life are boring
😭
i'm fine, I have some, they just have odd hobbys like me, and them they have charged days
FINNALLY, last switche disassembled, now I just need to lube them... or make a castle out of them
I feel ya man, I feel similar
finnally, a no-life like me, it's been a while
?
University
oh, ok, what are you studiying ?
Programming
Well, if you like what you are doing, it should be fine, Im studying biology, and I can't wait to finish it to actually start working, but personally, since I do what I wanted to do, I'm fine with it, gives me a thing to do of my life and not just be a blob watching Netflix or being in lubing hell
I like programming, I just don't like academia
learned a little bit of OpenSCAD and made myself a keyboard case
that sure looks like a keyboard case to me
openscad is awesome, lets me just change things around with a few numbers
Lol where’s the case
minimal integrated plate case
so many things i wish was #satire
No it’s not
It’s a valid way to mount the pcb
But making a case out of an integrated plate doesn’t make sense lol
Bc there’s no other layers
what do you call any of these (piece of shit keyboards) then?
Integrated plate mount
yes
its literally just a box with the pcb inside
all im missing is 3 unnecessary sides
3 “unnecessary sides” that give the board all of its character
well ofc for looks
And sound
this is for learning to develop a fully functional kb
And feel
obvi sound will be poop ass
Hi All,
This a video about how I design a 65% keyboard from start to end using Fusion 360.

yup ik
anyways, integrated mount is part of the design
so it literally is just a styled box
add the 3 sides and im virtually done
not even close
im working on a white 108 key, 3d printed all white, integrated plate mount keyboard with knob, north facing rgb, etc
:blurrysob:
ultimate anti enthusiast-stream board
if its thicker than 1.5mm, then double check the switch cutouts, they have to be different than standard.
otherwise switches won't click in
Yeah it's 1.5mm
Looks pretty similar to this https://keyboardarcade.xyz/products/copy-of-hyper40-kat-space-cadet-bundle
The Hyper40 is a bent steel mechanical keyboard, based on the Mini Hyper7 layout. Developed by MKUltra during the KAT Space Cadet Group Buy, the layout features the classic JetVan layout (see Minivan) at its heart, with 3-column keypads to its left and right and an angled top row to finish it off. The pcb, designed by
Damn!
That's kinda a cool layout but I'm aiming for a really traditional layout just flat 108 key
Bent steel too. That's kinda sick
I've done a numpad in kicad but never got it manufactured. I'm gonna do that in the next month or so and then move onto full kb
Not sure if I wanna just socket an arguing or figure out how to wire up an SMD controller
I have the equipment I just suck balls and my knowledge is bad
it did it again
i want to throw something
and it did it again
why kicad
i did it
I had to size it down alot
half it
yayyy]
wow the pinecil is absolutely tiny
its way smaller than it looks lmao
it really is a size of a pencil
Is there an equivalent to jlpcb but in the USA? For getting PCBs an maybe some 3d prints made? Hoping to avoid international shipping
nice
Gonna be more expensive overall in US than made in china
Shipping is only like 1.50 for 5 pcbs if you choose slowest option which is only like 2 weeks
What's the mouse pad ? Looks cool
Yea that's what I'm finding. Oh well. Thanks
No problem
Ok
No thanks
Finnally, I finished lubing and assembling my keyboard after a full day of pain
Nice
yeah, it's my first custom, and I completely over lubed my u4t's, it's still nice, but it is far from what I was thinking
I ordered a few boards a while back, it was quite cheap
anyone got a reccomendation for a 70% keyboard
Cycle7 @fallen ember
Is this spv1?
Been interested on a southpaw for a long time now
Looks great
Not a lot of southpaw layout lately

Need more macro for work
And just cleaner imo vs having a another numpad
whats a good white fullsized (not compact or 96) keyboard for 160aud
For people who like their numberpad on their left hand
Fr
Jingle with the valid reasons
how do u fix a worn out keeb switch? will lubricant oil or baby oil work?
if the switch is dead, there's really no way to fix it
just gotta replace it
do you actually need a solder brass ball or a tinner or are those like optional
I use a $20 iron and some kester solder
it works. it's just not that responsive.
if i click letter a 10 times, only 3-5 letter a's are being printed
I do have tha hakko solder brass ball and it's really nice but its not required
the sponge that comes with most solder kits is fine
hello, I quite often heared about ceramic keycaps, and I was wondering, if with a stock q1 v2 + gazzew u4t, they would help with either thock or a "deep click/clack", and where I could find them if somebody knows
depends on the sens lmao i hit my 60 sometimes
low sens gaming
jlcpcb is much cheaper even with the international shipping

best macropad?
yes
whats a good white fullsized (not compact or 96) keyboard for 160aud
https://shopmech.com/keyboard-builder/64823844d81c50ce7073a1f4 thoughts? im broke so i might just buy an rk61 and get switches and key caps
Check out undefined's build!
under 180 CAD budget btw
that for everything? case, switches, keycaps? for that price, I'd look into keychron, leopold, or varmilo
that site looks useless?
quotes stabilizer price for 1 stabilizer and not a set
the price for the switches is wrong
its just a keyboard builder
ok so rk61 and buy switches gotchu
your preferred layout is 60%?
Get a keychron v4 @fallen ember
id prefer a 70 or 75 bc im into flight sims
Much better than RK61
bet
yea, for that price I would also recommend keychron, leopold, or varmilo
i cant find any
keychron it is
but I think only keychron has the layout you prefer
yeah i need a few extra buttons (such as arrow keys)
so ill check out keychron
not legit ones. only drop had a license for marvel keycaps but they didn't make a spiderman theme one.
you could probably find some on aliexpress and the like
The spiderman disrespect is insane
but cheap china keysets probably would have compatibility issues with a 75% layout
yeah ill probably get a red blue combo
just get a little spiderman thing on the escape key idk
or just paint wsp danger on the spacebar
Yes not going barebone
And keychron doesn't have a white keyboard
Hey so , anyone got any 'budgety' keyboards , looking for all white , or at least white keycaps . mechanical , Blue or brown switches .90% if that's a thing or 100% (have an 80% but would like a numpad , but can still use a 80% if there are some good looking ones ) and that's it . I do like some of the keyboard that have that retro style to it . any help or guidance appreciated :)
tbh im not a fan of the v4 sounds
the switches that I would like to put on simply wouldnt work ( banana splits )
it almost mutes switches that are a bit quieter
Don’t trust sound tests
yeah he did have a pretty dirty keyboard
Sound tests are not accurate at all
With a myriad of factors that can change the sound on camera
yeah i know like sound distortion
etc
im kinda comparing prices rn
trying to find banana split switches and some spiderman looking keycaps
distortion is the least of your problems
room acoustics, mic, mic pre, how the video was mixed, your dac, amp and your headphones reproducing the audio differently
what are those keycaps called where they are half transparent and then half solid color?
im trying to find black ones of those but i dont know what to call them so search up what i want
pudding
They are pudding keycaps, just be aware the quality of most if not all pudding keycaps are fairly sub par compared to something like CannonKeys Keycaps or KBD Fans
I just bought keychron k4 i don't like the grey theme so i want some black keycaps that let a bit more rgb shine
How good is your touch typing?
Oh nvm they don't make black
Is touch typing different from regular typing? I'm slow and i just look while typing lol
@arctic shuttle
Touch typing is the ability to not need to look at the keyboard while typing
Yeah so like very little
Okay, I was gonna say cause ESC Key makes POM keycaps that let rbg shine though, but there are no legends. I also thought they made them in black but they do not
I was looking at these two but idk of the quality or if these are even good. https://a.co/d/aaKqSZL and https://a.co/d/eGkfQbE
@arctic shuttle
Both are not great, but they're is no such thing as "high quality pudding keycaps"
Ok lol
The reason why I say that was because i was watching videos on keycaps and they said some of the keycaps become shiny after you use them alot
All keycaps become shiny, ABS quicker than PBT
xvx makes really good cheap keycaps
for their price tbh
they also make double shot
bow and wob
God I need to offload some of my stuff
Getting rid of the v1 on eBay
And also hopefully the gamer board and the gh60
Maybe the at101w
I have a bit of lubing to do this weekend
Mt3 Camillo 👀
Akko asa blue on white lol
Damn, my eyes deceive me
Found this on reddit
Can I ask bout mouse here?
Is keychron k2 V2 worth buy?
First custom keyboard ! Sounds like heaven !
Do you know :
A good but cheap wireless mouse for school?
And gaming mouse that will last me a few year, cause i keep breaking mine by clicking to hard
you looking into wired or wireless ?
Wireless is too expensive so wired if possible
looks great
All i want is it not to Lose the clickyness after two Day
Have you tried the G502 ? I know its bulky but surpsingly resistant
Way too bulky, i play lot of fps
G203 ?
For budget I have the pulse fire haste. dropped it a couple of times still stands as new
I have the wireless one but I know it exist Wired
G203 will last at least two year before click go numb?
I don't have much knowledge but I tested a couple of mouses.
I cant say for sure. Mine has 3 years gave it to a friend still stands
Should be fine got Mr
For me
Its 28 anyway
Man none of My stuff läßt longer than two years idk why
maybe invest a little more
I do not suggest the pro X superlight I had 2 and the scroll wheel broke within 2 months on both of them I scroll a lot though
How much
your in the US ?
Il ready to pay shit ton of it has dpi Button and two side buttonn
France
oh let me look I dont know the prices there compared to CAD
Maybe around 60 to 70 should be good, I think
I Spam it, à lot
As I said im not an expert :p maybe try r/MouseReview
Nw reddit solves 80% of my problems ahaha
Asked, now we go to sleep to wait
Well i just saw you're from france ... i hope it's available there
2 of them broke on me within a month 😢
Gpx is the goat lmao
If you manage to break two in a month it’s either a humongous skill issue on your part or you’re just the unluckiest mfer
User error
If I wanna put pennies and a piece of towel inside my keyboard do i put towel or pennies on bottom
Why would you put pennies in a keyboard
Less hollow
just use foam or something similar
polyfil works good for hollowness without compromising sound too much
Can a towel work
if you can fit it in the case i guess
Thanks
bruh pennies
#budgetmodding
if you have to resort to using pennies for damping then just stay away from keyboards
not like the pennies would help anyway
Tfw sun shining straight in
What’s a good crème and black keycap set with Japanese lettering on it
gmk inukuma
is there a place in the state I can buy the 128x64 SSD1306 OLED displays anywhere?
i was wondering if the pink razer keyboard with the wrist rest was any good, im looking for a matching pink keyboard for my desk and saw that one
logitech g502 hero has like 4 side buttons
it is not
aw
can you link some good ones?
i have a pink desk and wanted a keyboard that matches
whats your budget
20$
I also have a 60$ Amazon giftcard so I’d prefer something on Amazon
yeah but what
there’s gotta be some differences
I’m so pissed that’s pinned
@chrome raft dyk what you’re looking for
and the budget
layout?
uh
i dont know much about keyboards
what do you mean by layout
i want like a full sized keyboard
HELLO KITTY REALFORCE
hello kitty realforce would be nice
im kidding
I was more so thinking the nezuko Akko board
i have no clue
if possible, then i want astolfo themed
pretty
imagine the clout you would get with this
is girlie in here
Ye
he isnt in here with his main
i want astolfo board
make one
why dont they exist
there are better anime girls to fleece weebs with
its a boy though
thats why i like it so much
hes a cute character
I know
thats why i want a pink astolfo keyboard
@radiant lodge
yes hi
First one who finds me keycaps that look like this will get a cookie
Those are GMK Inukuma clones
im trying to find black pudding keycaps for 96% layout does anyone have a link?
just get a full size kit from hyperx or something
but the key caps will fit? i got some pudding keycaps from xvx for 100% but the alt key for example was shorter than the alt key on my 96% and there is a gap
nvm im dumb, they had extra keycaps in a different box that came with the packaging. everything works
thats a good looking keyboard
what size % is it?
i found it on amazon
i think
Is the keychron v3 good?
-.
Yh sure
Oke
I raged once that there was no keyboard that I would love but now I think I've found something I'll love
The only problem is: I need a 3D printer
Hear me out, Wooting has their STL and STP files for each of their keyboards. I can just download those files, buy a Wooting Two HE, remove everything from the case, remove the case, transplant everything ti the new 3D printed case and done!
why would you transplant the internals from one case to another that's the exact same other than the fact it's 3dp
Cause I don't like the colour
What is the point of a numpad just use the numbers at the top of your keyboard you know like below the f keys
serious? or just trolling?

Hi im looking for a new keyboard i have had a corsair mk.2 silent strafe for 5 years now and I need a new keyboard but I'm so split on what to get I found a mountain keyboard for 120 dollars which I'm thinking of geting or I could get a steelseries apex
I'm so split on what keyboard I should buy
we did
yeah im actually wondering why we use wasd now
neat
notably dennis fong quake pro
I've decided to get the Yunzii YZ75, just need to decide which switches to choose. It's between Gateron G pro black, brown, yellow or red
budget and layout/size preference?
seems like an easy choice? if you want tactile go brown
if you game alot, get yellow or red
Im new to keyboards so don't really know what Im working with lol
brown = tactile
then the rest (brown, yellow, red) are linear but different actuation force
not necessarily
usually smooth and consistent as you push down
you should probably figure out if you prefer tactile or linear switches first
@wild star budget around 150 to 200 dollars and size i can go with 60% or 100 dosent really matter anbd the layout should be nordic
does anyone know if theres a astolfo themed keyboard
I don't have a high opinion of keyboards from big brands like corsair, steel series, logitech, etc.
I suggest taking a good look at keychron's keyboards. If you're stuck on your original choices, just I guess just go with the one has features you'd more likely to use.
Calculator, data entry, macros, etc.
I got used to play with arrws only with Flash and Shockwave/Unity racing games, I find using WASD really weird as my left hand isn't my dominant hand
Also, Wooting, yeah it's analog and want to test stuff out so that then t one poimnt, if I EVER end up being a software engineer (there are TONS of subjects) then I'll make a program to emulate it if it works in games as I think it would.
Nevermind trying to buy a Wooting when I have literally the SDK files on their GitHub
think I should take my latest keyboard to work?
it's got a pen rail so obviously a work keyboard
hahahahahagaa that’s amazing
absolutely incredible
What differince in red and bannana switches
looking at the keychron q1 pro and trying to decide what switches to get
I'm looking for a mouse that's programable, wireless, has silent switches, and has two middle buttons behind the scroll wheel.
Anyone heard of such a thing?
Like, close to the Redragon m656 but actually quiet
there was more info when you scroll down
mainly red = linear, banana = tactile
if it's similar to panda switches, that probably means it has a sizeable tactile bump
and I assume brown has a light or medium tactile bump
any keyboard guy here,
im not much into keyboards nd i got a cheap 15$ keyboard nd mouse combo, like i didnt had budget for keyboards,
and this is my keyboard || https://www.amazon.in/Ant-Esports-KM500W-Ergonomic-Programmable/dp/B081Q8PSKC ||

with split keyboards, and using batteries and all that. and charging those batteries while plugging in the nice nano, is there a difference in how it charges the batter if the power switch is in the on or off position?
i have my 2 halves charging via the usb while the switch was off, meaning the boards were still powered, and suddenly the two 128x64 displays no longer turn on. if I unplug them and put in a fresh display with no usb plugged in and powered by the battery, everything works fine but the old displays no longer power on
mainly, i am trying to figure out if any of this could some how cause the displays to stop working.
don't think it'd be feasible unless you got pcb files from the manufacturer. even then it'd probably be a lot of work.
not possible
cant find any files nd stuff
Should I buy apex pro or the huntsman v2 analog? I have a Hard time deciding
yea, files for pcbs will almost never be made public
what you want to accomplish would probably be near impossible
i dont think this keyboard got some complicated pcb stuff, its a 15$ keyboard yk
well if you have a background in electrical engineering, sure
is the razer cynosa chroma a good gaming keyboard
rk61 = the best keyboard in the universe
gaming keyboards are cope
If you can figure out how to get it into boot loader mode and flash new firmware into it lol
It’s too much trouble, just cope with your shitty rgb or turn it off
Just watched the new hipyo video and holy shit I don’t remember what he did to this one but it sounds amazing
hey
hoal
my laptop keyboard is broken, is there a way i can turn on my laptop if power button is broken
google would be much better help than discord
you didn't even tell us your laptop make and model
its asus g513 iirc
Should I get the Asus rog falchion ace or the Razer huntsman mini?
The huntsman mini is alright but the rog keyboard is probably a little higher quallity overall. That's just my thoughts at least.
OK, thanks for the opinion
both are ass
could you add QMK to a cheap mechanical keyboard if it has onboard memory
whats a good hotswap 10 key thing? for like keybinds and stuff
any updates on a astolfo keyboard
Looking for a full sized white keyboard with good LED lighting, any recommendations? looking at the Ducky One 3 right now.
Am new to keebs, I been thinking of making a custom keyboard but I also want it for gaming and other purposes then THONK and typing. I was thinking buying the gmmk keyboards. What do y’all think
Generally overpriced, but also generally quality enough.
no good
yo hi gas
yo loh
unless you want some weird model like ISO fullsize there are better options available
or it is EXCATLY what you want looks wise
like to begin with keychron V-series is a thing
Even for ISO there are way better options, keychron has you covered in basically any budget that is sub 250€ or so
well 250€ and like 150€ is quite a big difference
?
oh
well you don't really cover "fullsize ISO at 150 or lower with hotswap"
for now at least
V6 and K10 pro still don't have ISO variants
Fully built keychron V5 with knob and hot swap is 133€ on maxgaming
I would count that as full size
is there an ISO version?
I mean I would count it as full size
close eenough at least
much better board than a gmmk
welp
nvm then
maxgaming search just not functioning for me rn
110€ for ISO-DE on candykeys
not disagreeing
but there is worse
french or belgian azerty

Hello, I was wondering, the switches of the IBM model m, they are they tactiles ? Clicky or what are they ? And also, since I'm considering one, what would be considered a good price for one second hand ?
Thanks
Am from Canada not Europe. So the glorious boards are bad good to know
What should I get. It has to be an overall keyboard. If I make a custom board it should be less then 500 cad.
Do you want something reliably in stock, or something bespoke and you're willing to wait for group-buys?
a custom board can be from 100-1000
realforce
Am willing to wait
Which model
really comes down to what you want

with 500 cad you can get a lot of nice boards
What size?
Wilba tech salvation is in stock
Idk
That doesn’t mean I am not looking for 200 or 300 dollar options
One of my favs around that price is the typ65 and typ60
BlissTKL off MechMarket
Hey, what are the good keycaps sellers ? I have about 80$ to a hundred max to spend on them (hopefully shipping plus tax, and I live in France Europe) and has an exemple, I quite like the work of osume, the art design is quite nice
Am fine with building custom too
Honestly it really does come down to preference and what you want. Full size? Southpaw? TKL? 65% What color(s) do you like (for keycaps and the frame)? What typing experience do you like? Light linears? Heavier tactiles? Annoying clickies?
Narrow it down and the keeb nerds can get you better recommendations for past and present offerings. But if you want something half decent, just grab an in-stock keychron model and look around for a keycap set that strikes your fancy. It'll likely be under $350ish.
dude has no idea what he wants
just feed him some semi decent looking thing since thats what he wants people to do
I was referencing a way to actually put QMK onto the board not put QMK on a little usb dongle

Now I only need silent switches and then I think other than covering my keyboard under a blanket I don't think I could make it any more silent
What kind of switches are better, red or blue?
pick your own adventure
Nope, need some of these to to be more silent https://uniqey.net/en/accessories/18/qmx-clips-plate-mount-110-pcs.
what am i looking at?
I'm fairly noob with keyboards
They are dampeners that clip onto your switches which make them more silent
kinda like an o-ring?
Kinda
It also has less squishy feel if you’re into that
and maybe get those waaay later
I'm still trying to figure out what im into
I LOVE tactile feedback but I HATE way more noise and clicks
to a point where cherry browns are way too clicky for me
MMK shark switches, lube the spring and top housing. Very tactile, pretty quiet
tactile are not noisier than linear tho
It depends on the switch
I'll keep that name in mind
exactly
That's another thing, I would go for cherry pink/silent
cuz i nkow nothing about switches

The tactile event of the MOMOKA Shark switch is remarkable compared to ot...
are they pre-lubed?
They are, but they are not classified as a silent switch. When you hand lube them, they become very silent.
I see..
Do these things have a name?
The little dampeners that reduce the "reset-noise" when you release the key
it's the rubber dampers that are stock on most silent switches
I don't know, I see them in my single cherry silent I got with my keyboard
so they don't have a real name other than that?
not that I know of
most silent switches use them to make the switch silent
they have a tendency to make the switch more or less mushy depending of the density and hardness of the dampers
what boing are you talking about ? ... spring ping ? plate reverb ? something else ?
I don't mind mushy, honestly I'm primarely after silence
hold on...
I also don't mind mushy
all I hear is the switch topping out
ok, lemme isolate it, just a min..
gtg for now ... brb in 1 h
np
This is it, after I release the key (I'm assuming) the spring is still vibrating like a guitar's chord, living a fading, "reverbering" boing
It sounds like a "chak-duuuuun"
I want to remove the "duuuuun"
Lube the springs
urgh...
I'll wait to ... switch the switches, to do that
and now
I have been called a madman
Do you agree?
(consider that I'll be doing this on all keycaps)
yes
yep, that is the spring
much easier way to get rid of that is to just oile the springs
aka
take them all out
put them in a container
add some lubricating oil
put them back in
damn thats a lotta foam
tharbly
For realsies
i have found that the stabs made more of difference for sound/feel quality. i use tx stabs 205 g0 for housing lube, LUBCON Turmotemp II/400 CL2 PTFE Grease for my wires.
This is a keyboard my friend built for me yet I have no clue what it is just that it’s a kbd fans
Looking for suggestions for a keyboard that will be used for both gaming and programming with a budget of around £100 don't mind if I have to get second hand. Any help is appreciated as this is my first keyboard 👍
couple keys
any update on astolfo keyboard
i want one :(
does anyone know of a mechanical keyboard with a compact layout, brown switches and a backlight (doesn't have to be RGB)
current keyboard is this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007Y9L7G6?ref_=cm_sw_r_mwn_dp_TFCZH3ZN9NWZV8Z7NFJC, I like it I just want a backlight and better switches
don't roast me it was free 😂
Bakeneko65 Endgame feel, affordably priced CannonKeys is proud to offer an affordable in-stock aluminum keyboard with great sound and feel. Originally designed by kkatano, the Bakeneko65 is an open-source keyboard featuring an o-ring gasket. An o-ring between the plate and PCB provides friction to hold the plate/PCB
thank you, do you know of any with a numberpad?
I meant the key layout, most keyboards I see have big gaps in between the keys and also big keys, I have kinda short fingers and just prefer a more compact layout over a large one
Keycaps are a standard size, there is not going to be something that crunches all the sockets together. Also keycaps compatibility would be completely thrown out the window
oh ok, I also found a Logitech keyboard, do they make good ones?
built For Gamingperformance Is Our Goal G610 Orion Red Integrates Powerful Gaming Technologies Into A Performance-driven Design. Expertly Engineered G610 Red Brings Logitech G's Industry-leading Construction Quality And Technology To This Uniquely Crafted Keyboard. Every Detail Has Been Masterful...
maybe 1800 layout (aka 96%) would interest you?
yes, that is a similar layout to my current keyboard, are there some with dedicated volume keys?
knob or keys, doesnt really matter
Ya the V5 with a knob is gonna be your go to. Grab brown switches with it
and about how loud are brown switches, are they similar to an office keyboard or laptop?
loud enough to hear but not distracting
We use them for our office keyboards. They are not too loud and not silent
Pleasant to type on
ok, thank you!
I might look around a little more but I will most likely go with that
does someone have a budget friendly gaming mouse mine is dying the left click stops working its just terrible
what's even budget for a mouse
Holy fuck one of the streamers I watch made a new keyboard and I... https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxcVgBr_BR9LGyDD88Vl8xjfroyg5BSSXi

Under 50 bucks for a solid wireless mouse and supports a 4k dongle as well
What is the cheapest keyboard that supports QMK(Including Ones That Require Flashing)
like 20-30 bucks
@glossy sandal who's your favorite vendor for SEA
What mice do you guys recommend with a budget of around $75 usd? I have a Logitech g502 Lightspeed but it has an issue where when I click, it double clicks on its own
deathadder v3
darmoshark m3
Looking for a small keyboard, currently considering the huntsman mini
@hot mica Steelseries Prime+ is on sale at amazon. Very cheap right now and a great mouse
Its just not
Every single Razer mouse I have owned has turned to crap within 6 months. 3 of them were deathadders
Im using the deathadder v2 x since it came out, and I have no problems with It
I owned a gen one deathadder for a year and a half and never had issues either
sure their software is cancer but just set it to onboard mode then
not to mention the steelseries is just objectively inferior to like
everything
logitech has a onboard memory manager only thing and its near perfect
the fucky problem is that you have to set your mouse in onboard first to use it and ofc you had to use it in ghub
only way to use logitech mice is through onboard tbh
stupid mice will just revert to default sens on sleep and need to phone home on wake for the settings lmao
Looking for a keyboard that using for gaming and programming around £100 don't mind if I have to get second hand.
what size (layout) do you want
Not 2 small otherwise open to ideas
realforce
https://www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-v-series-keyboard
i always recommend keychron
v series is pretty decent, especially considering the amount of layouts they offer
I have a V1 and I second this recommendation
Damn, homie throwing the Topre out the gate lol
Which switches do you recommend out of the 2 @urban panther ?
for which board
