Bet
reserved for the higher class who can't be bother to build their own
like akko lubes all switches with 205 and 105 you can order service
i personally like unlubed switches since they have least resistance and raw feel much less chance of being sluggish
I've got 500 vint. Blacks lube them for 50€ I'm down
Someone point me in the direction of a weird but still usable body that I can build
Oh shit my bad
Anything Matrix

are we talking about keyboards or something else
Lol
Keyboards yes.
build one out of lego
Kit Adam
nah ive seen someone done a DIY project and it sounded way better
I have these but they’re just normal keyboards. One that I can use to beat someone, and a super thin wireless one. I want something cool to look at
Ya but my boy wanted a usable body, assumed he don't wanna build the body himself
Ooooo get a neo87
You could kill someone with the weight of that board
Or a blisstkl
I like the Neo87. The gold would probably look real good with the ceramic key caps I’ve been sitting on
I have it its really not that special
I only used it like twice lol
maybe I should try it again
ive just had no issues with 205
Lol longevity it topples 205 but initial smoothness it's pretty identical
ill try it on the keyno just for yall
If you buy good stabs it's not worth it
I have a lube syringe so I can plug if I need to but I haven't had to with any of my boards yet
If you buy durocks, worth it
Aight
you got a resistor in the switch on the right?
ic
hyperfuse looking nice
yeah $50 for DCX hyperfuse was a good deal
ik
poof
how much you pay for it
ez
cool
vintage stuff is too much work for me
just knowing where to look and tracking stuff down
Yeah
damn.....
Okay, I would be fine with many of these things.
many unikorns
Hk korns nonetheless
Im a fan of unikorns
It was really awesome to be invited to the HK commission
fn + del is M1 (for macro 1) on my keyboard
how would i set the macro to M1 instead of delete
i am trying to find keycaps or keyboard it was like 35% or 45% and keycaps i am looking for were like "weirdos" or something similar it was WoB
not sure if it was keycult or similar since it looked satanic
it was sort of in this shape
but it had keycaps like this i am trying to find keyboard because i am looking for similar keycaps it is like weirdos mixed with katakana and runes
:3
qaz?
I read it once and I immediately left lmao
?
similar to left side but they were instead of letters all over the keyboard
bu they were cherry WoB
idk :3
U guys know any keyboards what wont get destroyed by games like this https://youtu.be/NGXKf-KpaDk I hit my keys much harder than my friend does

ive broken 3 keyboards now and i dont want to keep replacing them
1 of the 3 made me bleed fun story
hey guys, i am looking for a new keyboard, what should i do? buy a new one, make a new one? idk what you do these days xD
Depends on how much you want to spend
And your past experience
no past experience, just received some random keyboards from family
hmm, maybe some 60 euros?
live in portugal
I would say my price range at best is £30-50 I say that because I don't really know how much to spend on this stuff
I guess I just want a non rgb design simplistic and nice to the touch. I'm not a competitive gamer. Wired is very much preferred I hate wireless. I also would prefer if the keyboard was a perfect rectangle. No rgb is preferred.
I would go for a keychron in the layout you prefer
did someone say keychron? 👀
what is a layout in a keyboard?
Each color represents a part of a full size keyboard
You can choose to get rid of any of the “colors” in which they keys aren’t needed for you
For example a 60% keyboard gets rid of the numpad(blue), Nav cluster (green), and f row (yellow)
Or you’d like to have a smaller keyboard but you don’t want to give up functionality you can go with a 75% or 65%
is that image a 75% or 65%?
How much does a cheap 65% cost then. Something small and very sharply rectangular. Sounds perfect for my in terms of form factor and utility.
I need all 4 keys to be pretty far away from each other since i will be using 2 hands for 4 keys and occasionally 7 keys with a space bar
Top and bottom bezels are thick
lubing switches is my favorite activit :,)
I hate it
see thats the thing
i have to devote all m attention to one thing or I either get distracted, or forget im doing things and under-lube a switch, whi I have already done so far
and I dont even have a proper switch opener
tjos os a;sp ,y first tume lubing
ah
;ot
hujk
You okay bud?
L
I can sort of touch type...
AHH
But I can't actually type type
I only use index fingers and thumbs
i can type, just not touch tping
I don't have to look at the keyboard anymore
How many switches are you through
please
I did 160 the other weekend
I kinda zoned out
i need company
Work in parallel
Put a show on in the background
I mean disassemble a bunch at once and lube in groups
cough
oh
uh
L
I don't really pay attention to the show
imma grab some bowls
Use something you've watched before
brb
It's background noise
I wanna lube more switches but the rest of mine I bought pre-lubed, or are clicky
Heh
I kinda want to lube my box jades
would you vc with me?
Why
Because they're there.
but box switches leak lube
L
the inherent design just means the lube will be forced out as you use it
I see I see
please someone
Then I have no more switches I can lube without desoldering something
is the razer pro type ultra any good
not really
why
overpriced
Its Razer. But tbh Keyboards and mice are propably the only decent peripherals they make, but still overpriced
its probably the best ill get for white wireless and fullsized
wireless keyboard? couldnt be bothered with charging it all the time, since its also a stationary device
ok
The RGB on a Keyboard will eat up the battery life
there isnt any rgb on the pro type i believe
thankfully
and if there was id turn it off
Thats great for battery life then!
Razer keyboard are meh at best
yea
Compared to the rest of their products they are okay. Not great, not terrible
Does anyone have a GMMK Pro synced with signal RBG?
doug shall be ordered today
im just making some final adjustments
(read: procrastinating bc idk if its gonna turn out okay)
wondering if i should get a via/l powered macropad just for gaming because tweaking layers on qmk is pain
yee
Baby boy
trying to think if i wanna game on my 40s anymore
replace the current with idk a 5x5
its more bearable with an mmo mouse lmao
currently game on a 4x5 but idk if i should make it 5x5ish and include numbers 1-5
true
ooh i could totally make a wireless 5x5 macropad with a xiao
i think someone designed a 2.4ghz receiver using nrf instead of proprietary
i think it was this guy
looks like its designed to squeeze more battery outta them too
i have a ble board but i never use the ble part lol
A keyboard quality is more than just switches tho
I had one with cherry switches in there ... switches were ok ... the rest was meh
I'm looking for some Red and Black PBT Keycaps doe's some have some recommendations ISO DE layout
Do I hear GMK Red Samurai?
75%, brown switches, hot swappable, black, rgb, I can’t decided between wired or wireless
Wireless looks better but wired is better for latency right?
By brown I mean not loud
Ya know what @glossy sandal Help this man
Man <
What
Nuphy Halo75
goodbye
Brown sold out
Probably should tell him the budget
Also fucking hell it’s expensive for a keyboard
idk consider how often you use a kb
Keychron K3?
Pro?
Not a fan of the key caps tho
Order from the keychron UK site
This the non pro
Trolled
Idk if I’m even looking at the right ones tbh
I’m gonna sound a lil bitch here
But
Is there one that comes with different colour keycaps or is there an easily accessible full black keycap set somewhere
Looks like you have to choose between tkl and rgb or 75 percent and white
Why’s that?
Or low profile
Low profile isn’t that like iPad Pro keyboard
You have 5 options wait the the k2 pro to come back in stock or get no rgb get tkl or low profile or spend 150 on a q1 pro
What’s the difference between k2 and k2 pro
Idk I might get a tkl but u said no rgb
hi gas
Did someone say tkl
Keychron K8 Pro QMK/VIA Wireless Mechanical Keyboard ISO versions include the UK, German, Swiss, Nordic, French, and Spanish layouts. Supports out-of-the-box QMK/VIA. Wireless or Wired. Hot swap every switch in a breeze with the hot-swappable feature. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, and Linux. Keychron Gateron G Pro Mechanical Switch...
Also sold out lmao
Why is it SO FUCKING expensive on amazon
Amazon doesn’t usually markup that much
Buy barebones and keycaps and switches
Bruh I checked 20 minutes ago 💀
Keychron K2 Pro QMK/VIA wireless custom mechanical keyboard allows anyone to master any keys or macro commands on its 75% compact layout through VIA, it has included keycaps for both Windows and macOS, and users can hot-swap with any MX mechanical switch in a breeze. No discount code can be used for the K2 Pro.
Layout
Yea
So
UK one
Bc I’m in the UK
What’s the difference between barebone and barebone aluminium frame
Is that literally it
The frame
Is it work an extra £10
Ask gas
Yes
Oh damn
ones made of aluminium ones made of plastic
id say probably no
Its just the plate iirc
I was just searching keychron on amazon
Love this colour scheme holy fuck
Hey guys does someone know what keyboard is this ?
some cheap 75% on amazon
C1 is abs only
If yoy want the c series get the pro
That shift 🤮
What does abs mean
The keyboard goes to the gym and has abs?
I don't wanna say the name its lont
Its basically a cheaper type of plastic that wears off more easily
Pbt feels better and doesn't wear off
abs is a type of plastic
Oh
the generalization of wears off vs doesn’t is wrong
it depends on legending process, manufacturer, etc
not material of keycap
Standard C1 comes with old OEM profile keycaps, C pro version comes with new OSA profile, they’re newer and noticeably better (imo)
Do key switches that change south rgb into north facing south exist???
no.
the rgb comes from the led, which is on the pcb in either south facing or north facing orientation.
the switch cannot affect the placement of the switch, which is soldered on the pcb.
Well my train of thought is that you can use small mirrors in switches to change where the light goes
definitely an idea
LTTSTORE about to have a new product
@glossy sandal it here
man really give me the 👍
👍
dude you gots to take some pics
@amber tartan please take pics
need to see kbdfan’s marvelous design principles
need to see the bottom before it’s covered in fingerprints
i havent took off the plastic yet so no fingerprints to clone
😋
send me a picture (high definition as you can get!) as soon as you put a fingerprint on the back
ok!!
So yeah, got a new keyboard, lubed the switches, broke one, needed a substitute, they only come in packs of 45, so now I'm gonna build my first keyboard with the leftovers. As you do.
Gonne be a 40 %.
65%*
For future reference
Flashquark sells singles of a lot of switches
im getting a new keyboard but idk what keycaps to buy for the keyboard
these are the switches
what type of keycaps do i buy?
Amazon
okay thanks
Where are you shipping to?
UK
i bought an all white 60% keyboard
and i have a black keyboard currently
and wanted to go for like a white/black look on it
idk if i should get like a complete set of black white
or take some of the black keycaps from my old one and put it on my new one
also if i have a all white keyboard, should i have a white mouse?
i assume a black mouse looks odd
Up to you rly
i guess i`ll just have to wait until the keyboard comes
and see how it looks on my current setup
that's a 75%
Elite k70
anyone know what might be going on? i have an rk g68 and the 1qaz and win keys arent working but those keys still have lights, i already tried changing the switches, factory reset, and even dismantling the keyboard to clean it but it still doesn’t work, thanks in advance
its a 75% because it has the frow
My bad I always mix up 75 and tkl :p
its cool
A good, cheap wired keyboard which are ver simple in design and have maybe less keys that normal I think something like a 60-70 would work great for a simplistic and minimalistic use. Preferably something like matt black I guess?
Budget is £30-50
i have an rk85, keys are a little sensitive but otherwise been a good purchase, got it for around 60aud iirc
royal kludge
speaking of, can anyone recommend a budget set of tactile switches? the switches that came with my keyboard aren't really cutting it for me
They are like £50-70 in my country lmao.
Jwk black?
they look good, i can get 18 for $7, only problem is they would block all the rgb on my keyboard (and i happen to really like how it looks
Ktt
@glossy sandal better pic
thas kinda hot
waiting for my solder iron
Blade65
i hatf u
(Harbor65)
bought a 25 dollar iron
big spender over here
got the pinecil
I should prob get a better iron
I have a fr301 tho so at least I got that going for me
nice
Amazon sent two to a friend on accident so he sent me the other one for cheap
tjanks mr bozes 😊
Thinking of potentially getting these switches, cheapest i can find with "reliable" quality
https://www.amazon.com.au/Massdrop-Halo-Clear-Keyboard-Switches/dp/B083XM1KX2?th=1&psc=1#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div
SMOOTH CONSISTENT & SUPER SATISFYING Give your keyboard a tactile feel like never before with the Massdrop Halo Switch Pack Developed by Jacob Alexander these custom switches combine the best attributes of quiet and clicky switches which results in near perfect consistency and smoothness with eac...
Never bought any keyboard parts before
Check out ktt
I saw them, seemed a bit cheap personally (tho tbh i kinda asked for it)
Wdym
They’re good
Just bc they’re not expensive doesn’t mean they’re bad
I use 23 cent switches in my $500+ builds
Not price wise, just general marketing and looks (total beginner experience really speaking volumes im sure)
Well you can trust me when I say they’re decent
Prob better than the halo clears tbh those are pretty old
only part of halo clears people really like nowadays is the stem
And I haven’t heard of too many people using them besides using the stems for holy pandas
used in a lot of frankenswitches
Yeah
Can you provide a link to the ones you recommend most?
Tactile
on it
JWK Black T1 Switches are tactile switches that follow the JWICK line. It gives a JWK quality tactile on a budget. JWK Black T1 Switches Feature: 18 included in each pack Tactile Top Housing: Nylon Bottom Housing: Nylon Stem: POM Spring: 67g MX-Style Lightly Factory Lubed Price: $0.23 per switch Includes: 18 JWK Black
I found them earlier
Hmm well I can’t seem to find any with a transparent housing
Even semi?
oh transparent housings?
A lot of semi transparent are colored
are the boba housings on gazzew switches translucent?
or just opaque but look hazy
Another reason why i'm drawn to the halo clears
T1s would be betrrr
JWK Durock T1 Tactile Switches feature similar housing materials to their line of linear switches: polycarbonate top housing, nylon bottom, POM stem (with tactical bump). This switch is intended for users looking for a "stepped" tactile feel, opposed to the "rounded" tactility from Holy Pandas. Durock T1 Switches Featu
pricier but it's what you're looking for
I’ve heard akko switches aren’t bad either https://divinikey.com/collections/tactile-switches/products/akko-white-wine-tactile-switches
Akko White Wine Switches are tactile switches with Akko's hand-lube process. It utilizes Krytox GPL105 and GPL205G0 for an enthusiast quality switch. Akko White Wine Switches Feature: 45 included in each pack Tactile Operating Force: 36±5g Pre-Travel: 2.0±0.3mm Total Travel: 4.0-0.5mm Tactile Position: 0.5±0.3mm Tactil
akko switches are kinda boring to me, except for the pom/long pole ones
Those t1's would actually be more expensive than the halo 70 pack
they all sound plasticky and cheap
T1s would be better quality
ye
Would i notice it?
durock t1s have tighter qc compared to the jwick ones
Maybe maybe not
Nylon tactile jwicks
Gat browns really?
Ya but T1s have heavier bump compared to browns
closer to the halos than the browns are
I need to find an actual mechanical and RGB keyboard that is not completely over priced
avoid every gaming brands then
check if keychron of akko have something that interest you
maybe wooting too
Ty
Lol these are not GMK
@glossy sandal what would be the next step up from akko switches
ktt
and i am okay hand lubing
tbh i'd prefer it
ktt manufactures Akko’s switches
do u have a link? 🥺 👉 👈
literally direct step up
idk a lot of vendors sell ktt
i see
@glossy sandal is there any benefit to hand lubing factory lubed switches
https://kineticlabs.com/switches/ktt
i see i see
If the factory lube job doesnt come very well
You would lube it yourself
I kinda just enjoy the process 🤣
Oh thanks! Luckily it was just Ajazz Greens, they're really cheap.
inconsistent lube jobs
also if it’s thin enough you can just lube over em
also your preference of lube vs whatever is used to prelube
Coolio
anyone want to hear a sound test of my modded to hell draconic pro?
No
i like it sounds nice
thanks, my stabs are pretty bad tho, but yeah :D
switches are Gateron Milky yellow pros, with Krytox 205g0
stabs are the regular very rattly stabs also with Krytox 205g0,
its got polyfill, and the stock keycaps
Which wireless keychron model should I buy
Who sells good key cap sets
It's relaxing tbh
what size are those shifts though
l size
i hear some people find it like meditation
i guess spring swapping is fine but lubing for me is so anxiety fueled lol
This makes me seethe
2 YoU
open switch, insert film, done, helps with switch wobble and sound inconsistency
changes sound profile
pretty sure i told you before but here you go again
Huh?
Wdym?
If your gonna film a switch might as well lube it
They already are lubed
okay so for keyboard suggestions lol, i've been looking at the keychron v3 / k8 pro, i want a keyboard i can swap switches with and preferably has function keys, does anyone have recommendations that aren't like stupid expensive? £150+
looking to get 2nd hand if possible and i dont know any good brands like keychron that are relatively cheap
uhm 75% preferably
as long as i have function keys, cause i play MMOs and i use function keys to target party members quickly without an MMO mouse
i'd also like if it were usb wireless so i can bring it with me and use it on my steamdeck, clean desk setup n all, no wires :,D
copypasted from #1112505814146629735 i'd love any help if anyone knows anything :,D
If you are looking to swap switches, why not build it as well. Monsgeek has some really solid offerings, the M1 would be perfect for you. AS a first keyboard, you can get all the components you need directly from Monsgeek, all for around 150
@glossy sandal lol the chinese gb of the harbour went very poorly
(idr if you read chinese or not)
yeah
nightpie I got so much shit on my mind I’m pondering so hard rn
this case looks so cuteeee dude
embed fail !
😨
wtf gh60!
yeah but it looks pretty
its pretty cool
also like 40$ lolololil
but gh60 is meh unless you oring then its ok
also pretty wacky front height
doesnt say but looks wack
i think this is just a commission design
you pay for them to send you a custom file
yeah I know
taobao design epic.studio
I should put a topre pcb in a gh60
Raiden think gif
Hmm, what about like the cheapest keyboard I can get, but still reliable, like not a fake company kinda thing, and then be able to change the switches later on if I don’t like their cheap sound? (Not a keyboard expert don’t flame me)
cheapest keyboard you can get is a cheap membrane from a "real" company
if not a keychron or gk61
I’ll have a look at those :,D thanks <3
Are the epomaker keyboards any good? They look nice for a reasonable price :>>
Can I dishwasher a old ps/2 keyboard
theyre ok
not for a long term but theyre a good beginner kit
wdym long term?
with like switch swapping keyboards i thought they could last for LONG cause if they wear out you can just change the switches / caps right? :o
really just looking for a linear switch keyboard that has function keys mainly and wireless would be a major bonus :>
Damn this is some 2016 shit
Is it possible to the razer PCB out and put it into a different keyboard? (I want to do this for software reasons)

Thank you helps with the main issue but I also need to razer software for RGB
Redragon K530 Pro Draconic 60% Wireless
Is this good? https://amzn.eu/d/ibMMMBv
Can I get a recommendation for white metal case, North facing RGB, QMK, barebones keyboard?
TKL or 75%
I was not thinking straight
decided on hhkb fo now
Is it possible to swap keys from cherry mx red keyboard to cherry mx silent, or it doesn’t work like that
Yes, will probably require soldering and some other shenanigans depending on what it is
Is there a reason you want north facing?
I have put too much money in the key caps and I just want to upgrade the keyboard
How good is the FB75? Thinking of getting it with something like a brass plate maybe
or PC
why cant most keyboards be good like old keyboards

Finished this thing finally lol
Pbtfans is $75
But yes they’re a lot better
If you don’t mind abs
well i am only looking for BoW and BoW some people told me if i only care for those and no colors i would be better with pbt than abs due to no shine
i see those are 100eur and pbtfans and nicepbt are 60eur
The thing is with bow is that it shows shine the least out of any keyset since it’s so bright
So it wouldn’t be as obvious
But out of npbt and pbtfans I’d say go pbtfans since it’s at least doubleshot
i have black barebone so going WoB would make it really dark and notice each spot like monotone so i guess BoW would look more clean and sharp
i would be fine with any brand just hear nicepbt and pbtfans are best idk i have not tried them
i am also from eu
just looking for something that would be thicker and not feel like dusty dry paint like a lot i tested it i prefer smooth matte like polished but i do not mind rough as long as it is not nasty rough you know sort of like idk dusty dry paint
GMK and DCS have a perfect roughness
I agree a lot of caps have bad texture
Honestly if you want some thick smooth caps CRP would be great for you
A little expensive but they have bow kits now and they are far and away my favorite pbt caps
yes these all cost quite a bit more than my prebuilt keyboard
i appreciate it i will check those out
it is hard to know what to buy especially for that price
since you are not sure what material they will be
Cheap ones
Crp is baby smooth
But not slippery
Sick
Lol nice
My next board is gonna be the F1-V2
i really like smooth matte polished
Had a V1 but I like the V2 design better so I sold it since it’s going for a decent bit
I also bought it for a decent bit so I didn’t make any money off of it lol
just not sure how expensive it is worth getting to put keycaps on my keychron v3 keyboard
This was mine
I mean you can always carry over the caps if you get a more expensive board
this is true but then i need to already plan to make a new keyboard
Well bow works with basically everything
i am pretty much trying to build one mediocre and keep it for years
Well keychron has a cheaper bow set
Idk how well it resists shine but it’s like $40
I think it’s a doubleshot pbt/abs blend
it says it is double shot idk if it feels like their osa i really like the feel of their osa
it is really smooth and all but very thin so it sounds bad
so far none of keycaps i had got shiny
but barebone of keychron got shiny but not keycaps
Yeah this is like the only actual good pic I have of a board
Lol
Brought that to a meetup
Mx blacks on V3 Alu
Could be different now since it has a new owner lol
Good thing is I have an extra pcb so if I get the V2 I wouldn’t have to get one then
I have like one board worth of hyperglides left
ill get some more soon
damn my left shift is ticking
lol I need full
ill just syringe when I get home
i just got tx ap stabs but i ahve not put them in yet
noice
i hear they are good
yeah just dont go hard on lube
should i get dbz or is 205 fine
I mean 205 is fine for tx
actually stock stabs were fine but space ticks
i hear some people say dialect evaporates idk if this is true
and they're cheaper so
Hey guys ! i'm really new to custom keyboards, Ive heard to never trust prelube switches. I bought Keychron K pro silver. (wich are factory lube) anyone has the K pro switches ? and should I lube them for good measure ?
i hear people like owl ones i hear people use durock but allegeldy durock are worst
I had a bad experience with cherry clip ins
i have some
their factory lube is pretty clear but very good compared to other factory lubes
idk maybe
as for a first keyboard I wont touch it then. ! Thanks Ive had a K95 for years but getting tired of the big format and soldered switches that I need to desolder everything in order to make it sound better
but yeah owlstabs have just always worked for me so I dont mind paying a little bit more
they're $30 shipped for two sets
Im excited to build my first keyboard ehehe
its a journey for sure
its crazy how far budget boards have come since I built my first board
I went for the Epomaker TH80 pro barbone as I dont want to put 250$ for a first board.
I had a kbd75 as my first custom
IN total I think im about 200$ CAD with everything
mine was a lot more I think lol
ahahah Yeah ive done some research for budget build. I think its a decent price for a first custom
this is true it requires a bit of work if not just get hot swap one and ez pz
for sure
I dont use the G-keys and I want a seperate numpad as I only use it for work and takes desk space
anyone else finds tofu84 all white to be prettiest keyboard
not me lol
i like the most i could like ultimate design based on aesthetic design for me
true this is why i use tkl
I need a knob lmao
what is the keycaps profile on that ?
why hahah i ahve knob but i barely use it
cherry
on the black one ? the numbers row looks really high
gotcha !
if i could afford this one i would only have this one
cherry numrow and frow are the same height
and then you buy more lol
I have what I would consider my favorite
noice
thx i like the minimalistic design it does not feel the best but i like it
yeah
rarer than R5
this really bothers me on zoom
yes little gap
ive looked into the Zoom75 But out of stock 😢
do you guys have any idea for a hot swap numpad ? can't seem to find anything cheap barebone ?
Theres the Epomaker TH21 on amazon for 50$ CAD its already built
theres not gonna be many cheap barebones numpads
most standalone are alu so they're at least $80
:L I might go with the TH21 and change the switches and keycaps then
prob your best bet
alright ty
🦗 🦗 🦗
what is a canadian
maple syrup humanoids
Keychron is the gateway into Owlab
i always wondered
why do people buy numpads
I work from home and I often have to enter numbers. I got used at a young age to use the numpad. Even simply 2 numbers I have the reflex to use the numpad.
I want a seperate one that I can put on the side when gaming
interesting makes sense if you are used to numpad to type numbers and detach it if you do not use it
i personally use numbers above letters so i ever really used numpad when i had full layout i just kept bumping my mouse into it
My dad uses my old gmmk pro and I got him a kbd pad to go with it
oh
nice
how does he like it
mine refuse to use anything other than cheapest logitech
lmao yeah thats why i want it seperate
low dpi user
650 with three screens ahaha
He really likes it. My mom also has a mech although less expensive but she loves that too
Litttt
So good
What mount?
Noice
I’m going for the korn SE raffle

very nice!
Looks hawt
What difference will it have if I put cotton balls in the base of the keyboard
What’s a good Logitech keyboard

i decided to get PBTFans over NicePBT the BoW

Can confirm, nPBT feels nicer than pbtfans
Good job

It's comical that I thought buying a Keychron would satiate my desire for mechanical keyboards completely
(It hasn't)
begineer boards
hopefully my new board will fill my little void
Can anyone suggest good RGB keyboard?
rgb lul
Does my keyboard sound good
no
uhm acktually it’s pReFeReNcE
Nah but jokes aside it sounds like ass
Clicky switches are pretty good but those aren’t it
Woah, that is quite the angle.
found a decent offer for a Q1 and just want one last round of opinions ... It is a decent board, right?
for the price
I made a purchase. NuPhy Halo 75, my first ever mechanical keyboard, which is crazy because I've been at this for almost 20 years. Definitely enjoying it. My fingers don't understand what's happening...
RGB go burrrrr. Extra FPS with this one for sure..
genuine question, mericans out there, your enter key is whack ngl, as a br!ti$h person myself, (had to censor the bad word sorry) i enjoy the big fat enter key, but muicans got a slim lookin key, if i were to like, make my own keybard and it has the murican keyboard layout, is it somewhat simple / physically possible to just swap the enter key out for a bigger one?
if that made any sense
small shift and big enter is my preference
those are different layouts, you can shop for both of them
keycap sets usually have an option to buy and some usually come with both options
the fat and the thin
make sure you read the details for the set tho
no but like i mean, am i able to just pop out the keycap and replace it with the good enter key?
cause i'm looking to snag a nice keyboard like epomaker / keychron 2nd hand, but some of them i see have the US layout
the "US layout" you're refering to is called ANSI
its the one with a "thin Enter"
and the "fat Enter" is the ISO layout
and no, you cannot just swap the keycaps
as the keyboard layout itself is different
you need to know if your keyboard is ISO or ANSI
just to put it plainly -- "Fat Enter" keycap is installed vertically, while the "Thin Enter" is installed horizontally
key is key :,)
as long as enter is big :D
cause who the fuck uses the \ | key
why does it need to be so big
:o
also, while i have the experts here, is this a good brand / a good keyboard?
it has a thin enter sadly :( but decent cost and it is wireless! so i can attatch it to my steam deck on the go and have like the full keyboard n mouse feel :>
look up your dedicated UK keyboard websites
they usually have better offers and prices
but mr jeff bezos is sadly good prices :(
i have no idea about uk keyboard places that ship within less than weeks
cause i am very impatient
no, for me (EU) the keyboard I got is literally twice the price on Amazon
dont forget the BAE (big-ass-enter)
i hate this so much

but yea hayleigh, look up a specialized keyboard retailers for UK, they're a much better option than Jeff
in both options and prices
Shit, I really hope KC's Navy boards are not too light
some look super cool dark blue, some are super light online, depends on the conditions when they took the photos
if its normal blue, its gonna make my build look weird
while dark navy should make it look amazing
the thing is, i dont know of any :(
i want ones that i can change switches, has function keys and is hopefully wireless too
and like not over £100
all i can find is keychron, and thats very expensive and takes more than a week to get to me
look them up on google, go to for example Keychron's website, see who their retailers are for the UK
that retailer should have different options for other brands as well
you could check out candykeys (Germany based, one of the biggest EU keyboard retailers)
they are more expensive xd
for more they weren't ... might be the UK taxes
for me, the board I got was literally half the price as Amazon
????????????????????
pretty sure you need to pay the taxes, cause Brexit
am i just not looking at the right places? xd
look up different boards
candykeys is shipping tho right? so it'll be more by default?
maybe you're just looking at some premium options
thats another thing, i dont know any brands to trust
cause i look on amazon for keychron / epomaker and i get some weird dodgy stuff
look stuff up, watch videos, listen to how the keyboard sounds ...
okay so lets have the epomaker th80 pro for example
that looks like the perfect keyboard, (minus the enter key but i'll live)
its £76 on amazon
but i can't find it anywhere else for cheaper
the cheapest option will almost always be to buy directly from the manufacturer
but beware that they're pretty much all China based, so you're gonna wait for like a month for your board
thats why i prefer amazon, i dont like jeffy man but like
i like having things now
if you really like that board, just get it then
look it up on YT a little maybe
how it sounds, what ppl who've tried it have to say
well it's not only the board that counts right? it's also the switches and caps right?
those aren't perminant when it comes to boards like these?
board gives you most of the sound
then the switches, then the caps
cause when you press, it comes down to how it resonates inside the case
that's why people do typing tests for them
compare that epomaker to something else
like a Q1 or a Q2
see what you like better
what the difference in sound is
the q models are really expensive
if i'm looking at keychron i'm more interested in the v3 or the k8 / pro
um no, they are not that expensive 🙂
they're the middle ground
you have boards going for 300-400 Euro
and the Q1-Q3 goes for like 150-175
and i'm after the relatively cheap ones xd
and you get an OK sounding board with foam and silicone already installed
i want a reliable brand yeah but i also want to not destroy my money
yea, that's kinda what Keychron does
its a decent board that's not too expensive
its like a prebuilt but its also kinda like a custom to a point
also, bear in mind that if you want to customize it at all, the most expensive thing for your board will be the keycaps
and that is okay!
i can do that later down the line when my funds have recovered from such xd
they're usually like 150-175 Euro
and the epomaker one i showed you, those keycaps are really pretty already :,D
well i've been using my razer blackwidow elite for like 3-4 years now
i think they are normal plastic?
it's just extremely clicky and loud and hurts my ears without headphones and takes up so much desk space
there are 3 types of switches overall
just a lot more louder
i'm after linear switches
no click no clack, just straight up and down, i dont want any pressure on the keys xd
its the pressure AND the sound
tactiles are more satisfying to use for some people for example
linears are just kinda ... bland
for switches, go to a PC store and try the 3 different kinds
you'll get a general idea of what they're all about
linears have no bump, they just go straight down, clickies have a big bump and are like the old typewriters to put it plainly
tactiles are inbetweens ... there's a slight bump, but they're also pretty silent
i dont even know if there are some in the UK xd
i mean we have shops like currys, but no pc shops
i like the sound of linears
yea, go to those stores where you can get like Corsair keyboards
and try out the 3 types of switches
and sometimes when i'm tired i just dont wanna use strength to type
just to get a general idea of what they're all about
i think i do remember having a feel of some of the keys and i believe i liked a specific one but i cna't remmeber which
and regardless, those boards are hot swappable right?
yeah :,D
i've also heard razer software is kinda like malicious and it takes up resources n such
i got it cause i was young at the time, i love green and it was the 'gamer' brand name thing
i prefer corsair tbh
corsair makes amazing PC parts, but peripherals ... yea ...
that ship logo sure is expensive 🙂
i thought that was with razer
cause you pay like £200 for a razer keyboard and it's identical to a £100 corsair keyboard
whats a psu? :o
oh power supply
i googled it xd
anyway ... dig up stuff about custom keyboards ...
