these sparkfun pro micro rp2040's are drop in replacements for pro micros/elite c, correct? is there a better recommendation for wired splits? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09KDS6CGN
The SparkFun Pro Micro RP2040 is a low-cost, high performance board with flexible digital interfaces featuring the Raspberry Pi Foundation's RP2040 microcontroller. Besides the good 'ol Pro Micro footprint, the board also includes a WS2812B addressable LED, boot button, reset button, Qwiic connec...
I did
(also I'm french, and here fr usually mean brother, it's part of my confusion)
At least you didn't get banned this time
Wait that was Acaer
FR4 is plastic
Epoxy is… plastic
ig yea?
FR4 is basically the fire resistant variant of G10
Plastic is still plastic.
time to order PCBs on an ABS substrate
PCBs are different those use sheets of copper between sheets of fiber reinforced plastic.
You could do that, although not recommended.
as you said
Because it is lmao
gl etching that
legit only decent keyboard company that I know that just ordered something as "plastic" is duck
it ended up being something PC-ish
I see
Lolz
Rip
hard to keep up with chinese labour 😔
And plywood is still wood but I wouldn't use it as framing members. Using umbrella terms to describe something that is not used in the same function as the product is intended is very dangerous
Just bc you can doesn’t mean you should
Got some jc studio caps in, little better than shenpo
any suggestions on keyboard size for next keyboard I hate this full sized one I got
Tkl
was thinking between tkl or 65
might the the keychron q1 pro
I want the Q3 Pro
I didnt know there was a q3 pro
howdy, I want to cnc keycaps out of wood, do somebody has suggestions of wich wood would be good ? that ain't stupid expensive if possible
Bamboo gonna be your only option here due to how thin the walls need to be. And good luck
Unless you wanna drop 3k on African Bloodwood
can I cnc that ?
Not financially feasible don’t bother
Probably not, CNC wood as thin as keycaps need to be to function properly, well, there's a reason you don't see maple hardwood keycaps
You compromise structural stability
that's sad, I have a hard wood case, and it would have been nice to have keycap that's also wooden
ok, also, i'm looking for a keycap set for this, for less than 50$, that's not wood
I don't know any sub $50 keycaps that are good outside shenpo
I don't know that
do they have a site ?
You get them on Ali Express
I'm going to see on amazon first, because I don't want to pay 50$ of shipping + importation taxes
do you know if keychron does good keycap sets ? it's basicly the only one I tried, so idk if they are good compared to the rest for the price
is there a keychrone q3 pro
(sorry for the ghost ping, my cat walked on my keyboard)
I thought i saw some talk about it but dont see on website
then no
Keychron Q3 Pro is a full metal QMK/VIA wireless mechanical keyboard. Customize any key or create macro commands through VIA software as usual, and connect the Q3 Pro with up to 3 devices through Bluetooth for seamless multitasking across Mac, Windows, and Linux.
what is the big switch on the side ?
woah that looks much diff with the macros on the side
A kknob?
didnt expect it to have such large knob as well
oh its a knob, I thought it was like a joystick or whatever, it is quite a bit thicker than most knobs
Keychron is going through One+ syndrome where they are forgetting there place in the community
what do you mean ?
Keychron pride themselves on quality, inexpensive, budget friendly keyboards. $215 for something with a big ass knob isn't exactly budget
yeah, I guess it depends on who you ask, i'm sure somebody who is used to 3000$ keyboards will find this very budget
I have some very expensive keyboards, this still isn't budget
what do you use has keyboard ?
I swap between my 1/1 factory cerekoted Gentleman65, my Charon65, and my CherryB Neo87
is a 850$ keyboard really worth the price ?
Well the Charon last sold for over 1k, and I enjoy it alot
To me, I'll gladly support a design I enjoy regardless of price
yeah, personnaly I like expensive stuff, I have a 50k headphones, but at conventions I am not really able to see the difference sometimes between expensive keyboards (with the same switches)
are their keycaps good too ?
what makes a better keycap better ?
Higher quality plastic, more constant typing sound, slight texture
is the wobble of the keycaps the problem of the switches or the keycaps ?
Switches
also, I have headphones all the time, and I don't have finger prints and lost half of the sensitibility on the end of my finger after I tryied blacksmithing, so i'm ok with keychron keycaps
also, do you have suggestions for switches ? I only ever tried cherry brown
very few keyboards are $850
most boards you see for that price are being sold for higher than they were bought for bc of aftermarket value
that's not really the point, what I wanted to say is that I don't get why you would spend over 300$ on a keyboard
you value the craftsmanship, finishing, design, sound/feel, designer themselves
And I like Charue board (even though they made a scum)
Charue
also, side question, what are your favorite switches ?
mx blacks
it's a linear right ?
personaly i'm not a fan of linears
i cant type on tactiles for more than 5 mintues
Durock Mambas
Cause typically people are going to be using the keyboard that sits on their desk wired, Bluetooth is just a bonus and a dongle you don't need to worry about losing
I guess so
The Bluetooth is a convenience thing more than anything else
I just wanted a wirless one for when I plug my pc into my tv lol
cuz using the remote pc app on my phone is a bit scuffed
You could get a Bluetooth pcie unit
Could get a long USBC cable
I will prob still just get the q pro
q1*
I just wish the q3 pro didnt have all those macro keys I would have gotten if it didnt have those
$220 for a glorified TKL, prebuilt, from a budget oriented company, is objectively a waste of money. Sorry but people don't look at Honda and expect it to be a Mercedes
Personally I am glad they opt for Bluetooth instead of a dongle because keyboard manufacturers have a terrible habit of cutting costs on the dongle. Connectivity is very often not much better than Bluetooth and they all use the same shitty dongle design, and it's always super tight-fitting in the USB port and eventually the plastic shell falls off and you have to pull the dongle out with pliers
Don't know if anyone else has noticed this on cheap mice and keyboards
Logitech dongles are built fairly well though
Any thoughts on a set of good feeling tactiles? Im on a budget
boys
i got some new swithes
i ant type bruh
also for some reason I have to fully bottom out my, "C" key to get it to atuate
actuate
just a faulty switch
Jwick T1's
I thought I was the only one lol
It’s true 🙂
Nah just better
It doesn’t need some stupid 500$ case nor 150 dollar keycaps to sound good
What caps do you all recommend? Thinking about swapping mine. Got a Keychron K4 with browns
Just picked up my Keychron Q3 with Kailh Midnight Pros (silent linear). So far I'm liking them
But I think they're a bit over lubed and needs some breaking into. So, I'll probably know better in a week or two
If you like browns in terms of force, but want linear, then look to reds
A lot of topre sounds god awful
The best topre is stock
stock topre is good
but silenced is fine too
tho imagine actually caring about how your keyboard sounds 💀
Imagine caring about one of the three things that actually matter in a keyboard 💀
sound literally doesn't matter but stay on dat cope tho
you place importance in it when it really doesn't matter, sounds like cope to me
SOund matters, I ain't trying to piss of my wife
bc you are the sole judge of if smth matters
why do you use a keyboard thats more than $5
sounds like cope to me
if you stopped and objectively thought about when the chasing your ideal keyboard sound impacts anything in your life other than finances then maybe you would understand where I'm coming from 🤷♀️
because I value key feel duh
even an idiot could figure that out
you've clearly never heard of a luxury
luxury keyboard sound
So if I say that key feel means nothing to me, then that means you're coping too?
its a dumb argument
does it?
people like what they like lol
does the keyfeel of my keyboard affect how I type
yes
apples to oranges
sure people can like what they like
doesn't make it not stupid as shit
does your typing speed affect your daily life
I very highly doubt it
have you ever heard of quality of life
how your keyboard sounds isn't a QOL thing
Ergonomics for one. Also keys that contribute to better rhythm, hence accuracy, improves work-flow via less frustration
it literally is tho
tell me when in your life you actually sit down and just listen to your keyboard as you type
oh so now you get it
people don't buy luxury watches and just stare at them
they don't buy luxury watches based on how the crown or beats sound either
your point of luxury watches applies as well
there is no equivalent for how a keyboard sounds in watches
everything has different qualities
if your argument was people buy keyboards to display like how they do watches
then sure
thats fair
no
a lot of people buy watches bc of the confidence it gives them
the feeling of a premium product
I never said they didn't
if you want to talk about the feeling of a premium product
how would you use keyboard sound as a metric of premium-ness
your crowd loves to say its all preference
feel good for like a week 💀
whatchu on about
... what?
have you ever heard of the honeymoon period?
ive been in the hobby long enough to know what I like
My error, didn't intend to respond to you. Must have had your comment selected
All good my guy
Keyboards are functional art btw, so like.....
and yet you keep chasing that ideal
do you?
but if im buying a new board im gonna consider the way it sounds into my purchasing decision
if you already have it then why would you buy another one?
Why not?
bc I like keyboards?
lmao
Imagine asking someone why they have a hobby
real consumerism moment
Not even remotely close to consumerism
I could care less tbh
If I have the money to spend on a keyobard, im gonna take everything into account before buything that keyboard
You can sell keyboard used. But you should clean them first so they don't have debris under the keys and other nasty bits
thats not even a good analogy
Tell a hobbyist to stop investing in their hobby, man, what a zinger
If I'm gonna spend all day at work typing, I want it to be a semi-pleasurable experience
its a dub
no i dont you cant o anything with that information
Coming to my house now, Japan post --> USPS
if it makes you feel better, I would also never buy a keyboard that I hated typing on even if it sounded amazing to me
besides view the location of the city
when you already own your endgame why would you keep spending?
and investing?
really?
which is displayed incorrectly for some reason.
See: audiophiles
you're a clown fucking hell
Why would you have a hobby then?
Why not just purchase something once and be donw with it
to get something good out of it?
Audiophiles are full of nutballs
I like this hobby
not every hobby is like plastic modeling
Good, you answered your own question
The cheap ones are.
thats why I dont waste what I have and sell it to people who want it
recycle
Those cheap plastic ones from Dell and HP for example. Trash
you're speaking as if every custom is a work of art
we both know thats not true
Define art
can you?
Ya but I asked you
2 of my boards also have a completely custom element to it
that nobody else has
so id say that contributes to why I would get it
listen dude
ok sure. unique, inspired, history, passion
What?
if all you value is typing feel and you enjoy your one keyboard that I assume you're good with, thats completely fine
thats what art is to me
So is my 1/1 keyboard art?
does it meet those requirements?
You tell me
It was created with the sense of elegance and simplicity
Ease of access and customizability for the endgame user
that doesn't sound particularly inspired or unique but ok
Inspired through a sense of elegance and simplicity?
Seems like inspiration to me
Per the manufacturer, yes
is there any way I can turn a non screw in stab pcb, able to have screw in stabs?
but in it's design?
Here’s the unique elements of my boards. A 65 xt layout that’s never been done before and an engraving that’s based on my personal life
Factory cerekoted a 1/1 color, design itself isnt unique to other board of its manufacturing
so its just 1/1 because its in a special colour?
Yup, still unique
What are your favoritwe switches/your daily drivers currently?
not really, whats it called
All my boards rn have mx blacks
a special colour isn't that unique
Still unique
anyone can just send it off for cerakote
And opblacks/sp stars on mods I don’t like
Not from factory
unique enough to be called art?
Anything can be considered art
That seems slightly unusual, how many boards doy you have?
Art is subjective
4
Okay, thats something I have never personally seen before, and I've never use blacks, so I shouldn't be to quick to judge
meh whatever lol
Lol
you want me to judge your keyboard yet you don't want to tell me what it is
Mx blacks are just unique to any other switch sound wise
Ya i take it back, I don;t really care
And I’ve found it’s an easy solution
What kind of a thoccc is it?
good
It’s not a “thoccc”
less time wasted for both of us 🤷♀️
Oh?
It’s more high pitched
Facts, I ain't gonna change your mind
So a thack would be fitting?
Lmao
Ah, yees, apologies
I don’t like to use catch all terms for sound
Low pitch-> high pitch
Flat -> Full
Is usually how I describe keeb sound
Noice which ones
Don't judge, Gateron Milky Yellow Pros
But yeah mx blacks usually sound good in whatever keeb I use and I just let the natural differences in the board itself to get a different experience
Why would I judge
They have a very low, deep thocky sound that is both criso and creamy
They're not really considered a super "premium" switch from what I have heard in the custom keyboarding community, because of how cheap they are
I basically only buy cheap switches
You make a good point
If I were to buy 100 of a different switch for $65, I’d be losing $50 on smth pointless to me when I could put that towards a keyset
Makes sense
They even came in this container lol
Tub 'O Switch
Actually the money I saved from buying ktts completely covered the JC studio caps I bought
Aight bet, cab I see you daily?
This is the board I use the most
CLEAAAAAN
It’s my favorite for sure
I notice you don't have a WIN key, or an FN key?
I actually have it bound on the right alt and ctrl
The blocker is just for aesthetics
My bottom row is:
Ctrl alt space fn win
Yeah some people use winkey a lot more than me so they need the extra keys but yeah
Cya
If you had an unlimited budget, what would be your dream keeb?
I think I already have my “dream” keeb
But I like having multiple
Different layouts, aesthetic
You wouldnt take anything else?
I do have my eyes on one atm
Oh?
Are the switches the same?
These aren’t my pics
I’d plan to use GMK yeeti on it and these switches that I got from a trade
vita revita'd
Vita but frl
matrix boards are pretty mid except for the 8x series
yeah falcons also k but not a big fan of hhkb
Hmm. Got my new switches today. But I think I have an imposter.
howd that slip in
vender slipped it in.
trying to figure out which one it is. cant find it. it's pretty clicky. somewhere around 50-60gf ish
ah. Kailh Box Autumns. had to ask around to find that.
I think with most of them it is less budget and more finding it
thats fair
my personal endgame for example is the F1-8X
obv there are improvements that could be made to that board
yeye
Pretty board
but the versions that came after so far have all been worse than the original
I’d love to own a pc bottom f1 one day
💀
i mean, i just upgraded my keyboard again today
worst version
apolyfill and new switches
F1 isn't a super versatile board
it has essentially one way to build it "right"
aka
ignore all plate options
and choose the original v1 alu plate
or the v1.1 one that later got made
And you think the other versions are significantly better?
that is just the v1 with better ISO support and a fix to keep a tab from bending
yea alu bottom sounds better
No what?
the original round feet one came with the best plate
but you can get a v1.1 plate and put it in the square feet F1
I’m j curious
You are going to start something massive please
722 has less internal space
more than F2 though
which makes it sound flatter
F1-8X v2 should be good, but we will see
F1 8x v2 looked v promising
the F1 "ecosystem" is just really funny
Probably won’t have the money for it at the time
because there are a TON of build options
Are you gon get in on it?
ive just got a hella modded RD Draconic Proo 💀
will 100% get an F1 FE though
please for the love of god
Still can’t believe he’s gon make it that cheap
injection molding be like
iwas one
Ion think we’re fighting
basically if you want anything but the alu v1.1 or the plateless one just buy literally any other board
they start like this
What’s the time line on it again
and you are prob better off
a genuine conversation
don't think it has one
then BAM, mayhem
I j remember like 2 screen shots

I should go find them again rq
are Gateron Milky Yellow Pros valid?
this very grainy render
this feels oddly passive aggresive
thats the pure white ones, right?
the $4.20USD-18?
w8
haven't kept up with geon as much as I should have recently
these
shit
i ordered the wrong one xd
its the fully milky housing
yea the reg gat pro 3.0
yeye
im turing this regular 60 dollar 60% into a full beast ass keeb
itsgoing well so far
enjoy
a full beast ass keeb
bruh idfk how to describve it
it sounds good, but my phone audio quality is shit
very thock
i have some 205g0 in the mail, along with some new stabs
is anyone here good at usina via w keyboards
i need help setting up a macro in via on my tofu65 2.0
yo my space bar is activating even though im pressing it like the slightest is there a way to fix it without like replacing the switches
You can get a lighter spacebar
You can clean out the stabilizers, esp if you recently lubed them or w/e
Why ?
cleaning stabilizers is not fixing an overly sensitive switch
Booi I’m just pointing out the easy stuff
if it activates before the key is depressed by the amount it shouldd be, check if it does so with the keycap removed
it is completely unrelated though
I’ma laugh if he stuffed his space with tape
"if your pc doesn't turn on check if your door is open"
or foam
or like
keycap just didn't seat correctly
Overly lubed stabs can seriously fuck with the spacebar actually resetting but ok
Also haha another car metaphor
it just arrived today
What is with this channel
yea but it would then still be depressed the right amount
Well what is it
yea check this
ye doing it now
does it just activate when actually depressed
if that is the case and it returns normally it's just your thumb resting too hard on it
I got really used to the linear optical switch, it was a nightmare at first with similar issue, except for me was just holding shift or tapping caps accidentally
yea its still the same without the keycap
but is the distance right
is there a way to change it?
Give it a month. You’ll be at the same Wpm as before, give it two months. You’ll begin to really like it
yea i mean it sounds so much better than my last keyboard
Howdy, I'm looking for new switches, and I found the glorious pandas, and I wondered if somebody could give me an opinion on it
overpriced and bs marketing
Well that pretty one sided, do you have a suggestion for another tactile switche ?
gazzew u4t?
there genuinley is not much positive I can say about glorious
their best attempts at products were all half baked at best
and either overshadowed on release or quickly after
I'm going to look it up
durock t1s are also pretty solid though may need films
I watched some reviews of it, they say it's a D/rounded bump, what do they mean by that ?
t1 is also a tactile, films are a mod you can apply to switches to improve wobble that can change its sound profile to more muted and consistent
that it is not a sharp tactile (to be fair no mx tactile really is) with a tactile bump that reaches from top to bottom
aka the switch really only wants to rest either at the top or bottom
Question, with keyboard and how some say like 20 Million key presses, does that mean EACH key can take 20 million before it starts to have issues or is it the amount of times a key is pressed on the keyboard total?
Because I’m playing a fighting game with my keyboard and I wanted to know if I should be worried about a faster deterioration of the keyboard if it were keyboard wide rather than for each key. (I searched online and I couldn’t get a straight answer)
Ok cool, I was less worried about the number more of it was keyboard wide or for each key
Thanks
Zealous, T1's, Sunflowers, Kailh Copper, Holy Panda's, all these have a fairly sharp tactile bump
due to how they generate tactility they are all kinda round lol
tactile leafs like in alps designs can be much sharper
If you have a +70g spring ya, bring it down to 55g and it will become sharper
bruh
mx tactile gray is prob the worst switch made in the entire line
combines the bad elements of mx clears and browns
Are we, are we using the same greys?
they made 2 kinds of grays
linear and tactile
tactile grey is just an mx brown with a heavy af spring
heavier than an mx black
apparently there also was a clicky grey one
but stupid rare
which ones do you think of lol
SS greys, tactile
Spring Swapped
you sure you don't mean clears?
otherwise you mean a switch that only appears on some boards purely as a spacebar switch
aka
Extracted from vint boards, no no I mean greys]
Nah homie
Not the same kinda clout
It's a clear with a heavy spring
Thats why you spring swap them
at least hirose switches have actual physical differences that isn't just different masterbatch
I like my german engineering
bruh
they are the same as a clear
same company
as a german I can proudly say that cherry stock weightings are bad
I wanna make a joke but idk how it's gonna go over
If only cherry switches had good springs
mx ergo clears still crack me up
Why
no new tooling
just a different spring
that still sucks
only mx switch that didn't get the HG update
oh yeah
what are some tactile switches with pretravel in bump
like mx browns and ergo clears
Hey guys, a bit weird but has anyone here had experience with WS Silent Tactiles/Linears or the Haimu Heartbeats? Basically I want to try some silent switches in my complete shift from my first mech keyboard which was a razer blackwidow with razer greens. Currently I'm using Cherry Browns
I'm completely new to this so I apologize in advance for my ignorance
Hello again, I'm looking for a lubing station and lube for it, if you have suggestions
I can sell you my kbdfans one for cheap if you're in the US
won't include the brushes and stuff but you can get that yourself for cheap
I'm in eu... In France, so idk
Ah rip
How much is it to ship from USA to France ? (Because last time I shipped something to USA it was more expensive to go fr->USA than the other way around for the same thing)
can someone help describe to me the feel of carbon fiber, brass, and fr4 plates
Sound or touch ?
it would be fairly cheap I think
lemme get an estimate
Ok, thanks
am basically looking for the sound of pc plate but a little less flexy
pom would be another option for me
Well, I can help with that (exepct FR4, never touched that thing) for brass, just go touch a fork, and carbon fiber, would be squished fibers basically
i mean typing feel lol
lmao
like is it rigid or flexy
Well, it will be the same with kbd fan, so on my side it's kinda the same
very rigid
does it sound at all similar to pc?
cf, fr4, alu, and brass are stiff plates
out of all the plates I would say cf is the most comparable sound wise
Seems a bit more logic, cause I mean, I don't judge people when they ask stuff, I saw odd things in the past where they where dead serious about it, so I stopped asking myself questions
cf
fr4/cf would be your best bet.
How much would you sell your lub station ?
like $15 prob
Yeah, their shipping is 19$ for it, so I think I will buy it from them, because it would only save me a few $, sorry
np
Ok
couple plates
fr4 is one of them so im happy
no more keyboard sinking in 2 inches with each keypress

anything for bouncy marble thlacks
fr4 is still thlacks tho
rate my wrist rest
ngl, you might have some problems in the long run reaching so far forward. Not saying its a BAD wrist rest, but think about your shoulders and pick up something with less depth lol
ITS HIGHt adjustable
height =/= depth....
10/10 recomend 🤣
Its fineeee
I gave it a 5 star review on amazon
1/1
Thanks for the 100 percent :gleam:
ye
New board fo today
pp60
fr
Just turn it upside down for 0 depth
I still cant do a winkeyless board. Even though a lot of the popular ones these days are
rebinding my best friend
Rebind to right alt
or left ctrl, rebind ctrl to caps lock
nobody uses caps lock anyway
my bottom row for all my wkl boards is:
ctrl alt space fn win
I use caps lock >.<
make it a shortcut!
I do data analytics and the field names my client uses are all caps for some stupid af reason
left of blocker fn
mines always bonded to where right ctrl would be
Who uses right shift?
not me
Learn typing etiquette mate. Right shift is for all capital letters that are typed with your left hand
Still the same3
Dont think i have ever used right shift in my life, Its always contort my hands to make it work, never do it the right way.
Do you have chronic finger pains?
Only customer pains
nah
typing etiquette doesn’t really matter as long as you’re comfortable
It’s just a guideline
Still use right shift. You will get chronic finger pains if you type for an extended time.
It DOES
I can reach left shift with my pinky, I don’t need to go away from alphas to press right shift if I don’t need to
Have fun getting chronic finger pain.
which is admittedly a lot more work than lifting my pinky
Its jsut learnign something new
Sorry for spelling, my new wrist rest sucks.
Have fun getting rsi
wrist rests aren’t for when you’re typing
they’re for when you’re done, hence the “rest”
proper etiquette would be to type having your hands floating
They rest your wrist WHILE you are typing.
You will get Carpeltunnel.
Let me ask Bing GPT

what’s up astro
bored as hell
@glossy mica
I see.
But this is a very long active debate.
you’re just wrong
your wrist is not in a natural position when using a wrist rest
we out here
IT is
Ah hell nah!!!
no its not
Oh damn is this the Neely65XT guy
you want your wrists to be parallel with your arms
i still dont know hot to type properly
nice board based layout
No
lol thanks
where did your xt phase go
go buy the ogr
I like arrows
series 6xx was also cool
Your wrists have to be parralel to your hand
LeFishe was nice aswell
mf i swear you told me to shut up when i said ogr shuda been 60
I lied
60 xt lwk >>
Matching numpad for ogr was really nice I love the stickers on the bottom
huge ass boards, pen rails and fat cherry lips
when you're using a wrist rest its not
its sloped
floating your hands makes your entire arm and hand parallel
huge ahh cherry lip and pen rail always goes crazy
waht
i typed something and it was auto modded
That means ur wrist rest is too low
ion even know which word was the problem
the ogr is my favorite
i can see myself shelling out that much
its a v v pretty board
ye its nice
I was gonna get a pcb from them but it would've taken forever
so I had one designed
oh yeah pontus's board
put this on it https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=120328.0#top
[IC] Hammer & BUGERWORK—— Parallel-World keycaps

Lamou
@glossy sandal
hear me out
What
relegendables on the 2 frows
yikes
damn
where do you think i am supposed to find f13-24 again?
F24 keys are too good
yk what jingle might have soom
Vint stuff afaik
dunno any modern set that does em
thats why my second thought was relegenables
first was hitting up jingle for vint info
why’re you gonna use a modern set on a vint inspired board hmmmmmmmm….???

Is this a good drop in RP2040 replacement for a pro micro? With a compatible pin out for supplying the 5v to rgb? I'm trying to find one that doesn't cost 2x more than the boards for shipping (USA, Cali)

yes
what do you guys think of my keyboard?
meh
China
bro go to bed 💀
best head clicker on the market
I mean
shape wise could be alright
most modern gaming mice have shapes derived from mice from the late 90s or early 2000s
(in most cases microsoft)
Is the Skyloong SK61 worth buying?
do somebody knows where I can get a moonsgeek m2 ? when I search it I only get reddit with people saying how they liked it
I mean you can see the laser shining between the buttons
short google search says it is a mitsumi S6702, which is a laser mouse
I mean, laser is not exactly a new technology
I know, i'm just saying that it's going to be hard to find a ball mouse today, for cheaper than a laser mouse, (wich is probably the reason somebody would want one)
just get an old logitech pilot mouse
there are a lot of ball variants out there
idk why you would want to go with a ball outside nostalgia
they just are a lot of hassle
even there, they are between 10 and 1k (if they are in a sealed box) and amazon will hapily sell you a craptastic (but probably better because doesn't have decades of button mashing and gross stuff in it) amazon bassic mouse for 9$
or some suspicious 1ct mouses+
they are maybe a hundred dollars if it's an old one in a sealed box has I said, but still
maybe if you look for one that expensive
very quick search in a local marketplace
somebody got multiple microsoft serial mouse 2.0As
for 29€ each
all NOS
middle one is laser
Anyone have any recommendations for a relatively cheap numpad?
Like $15-$30 I was thinking
Where would you like to buy from?
I would have preferred to buy one at Best Buy, but the store didn’t have one
So I dunno, I’ve bought stuff from Newegg and Amazon before
Well, take your pick
Newegg?
Alr
Do you want it to be a mechanical one, or do you just want a numpad
Mechanical would be preferred, but not necessary
I’d just be using it for basic calculations and logins, so don’t need fancy
I think that is what you are looking for
Yeah that looks nice!

here’s another, https://www.amazon.com/Womier-Mechanical-Backlight-Computer-Switches/dp/B0B4687ZSB?th=1&psc=1
Bouta get a numpad with blues
My stabs arrive today :D
But I accidentally ordered 7u stabs D:
rip
Ooh that one is usb C 👀
Is it possible to use 205g0 on stabs?
ofc
its one of the best for stabs
Gtk
it was a joke
by the way
yes
not really, you can use it for stabs but its far from the best
not really one of the best
id say arguably superlube is better since its a lot thicker
XHT-BDZ is the best
though super pricy
usually for commissioned boards only
theres also Carbon GS2
usually mixed with XHT
its literally all the same just get good stabs
why not just use vaseline
Homie, "why not use Vaseline" not even in the same category as stab lube
exaggerating to make a point
^
Idk man, someone's gonna use it in here
worse has happened
gas look its happening!!!!
xie xie
Oh you one of them Aussie fellers
what colorway did you buy again?
true but that means you have to buy whole new lube just for stabs
nightpie is from hk iirc
just moved to AU this year?
I don’t remember all the details
a lot of people use 205 on stabs while bdz would be better but that means you have to buy whole new lube just for it
Honestly, dope
If you have good stabs, 205 is perfect
idk about that
it’s fine if I have nothing else on hand but I tend to need to glob it on and reapply often
compared to something viscous like dielectric
Wait, are we talking about stabs or stab wire
hence why i said its usually for commissioned boards only
Stab wire is getting loctite
lilac grey, its from hk to aus
Lilac mmmmm
some people buy it just for stabs
if you build a lot, i can see why youd buy it
stab wire is a part of stabs.
well it is more consistent for stabs and thicker but it does not make that much of a difference if i do it i rather do it correctly but buying this much grease for one board is mostly throwing money away
Ya but 2 different lubes
theres a lot of these specialized lubes for different parts of the boards
Ain't gonna lube my whole stab with dielectric
🥲
preference thing, it makes the switch a lot more muted compared to tribo
Makes it feel sticky too
true i do not really care about the sound i care about feel so it is pretty subjective some people are very triggered by that
not an "optimized" lube for tacts but its usable
well buying 3 different lubes is a lot of money
some people also argue 03 and 04 for tactile switches
when you build boards for your job, its a relatively small price
which barely makes a lot of difference that would require discussion
what do you mean job
building boards for money?
Even if you aren't building every day, buy the lube once, won't go through it quickly, will have it for a while
why would you build for money
why wouldn't you build for money
