Whats a nice tkl wireless barebones kit available in the EU?
100-150
hi, am i allowed to ask something about my keyboard here?
more of a support question
Keychron Q1 comes with a plate by default
Keychron K Pro boards are nice
Is it possible for me to turn a QWERTY keyboard into a DVORAK keyboard or a ABCDEF keyboard and have it work in Windows as if it were a native DVORAK keyboard?
You just need to choose DVORAK layout in the Windows settings
anyone have a recommendation for a silent gaming keyboard? I hate hearing the click of my current one
if its hot swappable just get linear switches
like gateron reds or something
sadly its not 😦
Brand new keeb
hype
(over)hype
Why are you being rude to someone who is excited for their new keyboard?
exited
Fuck autocorrect
i dont think im being rude, i just think personally the board is overhyped
thats fine
i mean its good
i dont ever seeing myself buying one but ive heard good things about them
errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm it's a tray mount, the only thing good about it is that's it's using hall effect linear switches manufactuireed byu gateron, they arten't contact based so they're smoother than regaular
I'm waiting for my new switches to get here (crystal kailh pink and navy) but this is my current keeb
My camera setting skills are left to be desired though. All the types of light makes things a bit difficult
I just got the gmk67 and gateron milky yellows
@pine flower is that a desk mat?
i hope it is
yes lol
marble would be way too hard x)
imo the good part about it is precisely what they do with those switches lol
for some games rapid trigger is an absolute gamechanger
anyone here knows where i could buy ktt strawberries in europe
if not i will just get them from aliexpress
eu vendors sell them for 58eur 90 switches
but on aliexpress they sell for 21eur 90 switches
I see them
look like the 2 eu vendors are oos
but on mykeyboard they are 4,50, not a good deal to begin with
ah, eloquentclicks has some
similar price
70eur for 110 but on aliexpress 23eur for 110
idk if it is legit but looks like it
DAMN
on sale rn
nah wait

can you link me
found "KBDiy Strawberries" but they are a different switch
these are 34,59€ for me (with VAT)
but the KBDiy ones have a different housing
with the kailh "Winglatch" style clip
so easy to differentiate
Still running the 6 dollar mechanical keyboard
which one lol
cheapest I got was 13,48
for a new one
that board sucks btw, don't buy it
I do not know, it's like probably a knock off brand of something
send an image lol
nice yes i was also looking at them
but idk if they are good clones or bad clones
Okay it looks like this and it's not 6 it's like 18 dollars lol
I forgot the pricing
they are entirely different housings to begin with
why look for ktt strawberries if you buy a different switch
But essentially this thing is just running on brown switches.
I can hot swap them
I mean if you like it and it still works, good for you
you can't use any switch though
Yee, bought it because it's cheap and has the f row keys
those cheap boards use sockets that are essentially proprietary for outemu/gaote switches
since they have slimmer pins
true i was just looking at them since people recommend them
they said they are cheap but clearly not as cheap as gateron
any recommendations based on that
I mean I was either gonna buy a mouse or keyboard (wireless) just a few hours ago
Ended up with the mouse because.
I hate trackpads
i like light tactile with bump in the middle like brown or linear not too light or heavy more light but with decent return
Simple.
I like laying down on bed
same i use wireless mouse but keyboard is always still
but some people like mobility and no wires
And if I have to reach over to my desk to type in stuff. Then why bother laying down and being comfortable than to sit on my uncomfortable chair
And I am also running out of wires around here and would prefer wireless stuff if I can
ig
Because "if it works it works" is a standard I'm fine with
I could have gotten a wired mouse. But I am afraid of rats finding it and chewing them out
Thats how my Ethernet cable got destroyed
This has to be one of the worst tier lists I’ve ever had the displeasure of seeing
you do realize those are only kailh switcher right
and all tier lists are based on subjectivity so you are not able to objectively judge them just like colors you will never be able to prove red is superior color to green
👆
you do realize your ignorance and immaturity just shows how pathetic you are
Stay mad
for what some kid on discord getting offended by my tier list haha xd
bro got so mad over my tier list he blocked me
good at least no more toxicity from him
Imagine getting mad over an opinion you cant control 💀
Gotta be mad weird for that ngl
i have no idea why people get upset over taste of someone else like is that gonna take something away from you
i guess it is insecurity to try and gatekeep
Exactly.. ig some people in the world are just like that, cant do much. 🤷🏼♂️
it is not even worth arguing but this is internet but you can see people like these in daily life too
i say live and let live just enjoy what you enjoy and see other tastes as they are subjective everyone should enjoy what they like that takes nothing from you just like everyone hates on brown switches and then you ask them why they have no idea how to respond
that list is highly subjective though
rent free much? 💀
i did not make a tier list i made my taste
i just wanted to share how i like them since i am looking for new recommendations for new switches
yea it's so subjective it should be ignored though
i respect all opinions as long as they are seen as subjective
because there is no right or wrong in subjectivity
it's stupidly limited though
why just compare kailh switches with each other
also not even all of the ones you can get atm
these are great completely unmodded btw
if you could get them
whats up with haimu
What was the point you were trying to make?
Like? How much attention do you require on a daily basis to satisfy your needs?
?
you're projecting pretty hard there buddy
though I'm not surprised seeing how stupid you are
I like membrane keyboards
wdym
Me too 🙏
Like what’s their story
uhhh
obscure chinese company that popped out of nowehre
and got confused with huano
I don’t really keep up with the hobby and they seem to have just showed up?
Affordable keyboard can be good
nothing new for keyboard switch companies
Of course they did lol
to be fair having similar easier to pronounce names is nothing new for chinese companies
These names are actually just Chinese words romanised
not always
Same with keykobo
gaote for example
If you pronounce them using pinyin they sound wildly different
Gao te is romanised I’m pretty sure
to outemu
also with how newer chinese companies are called it would make sense to use a different brand for foreign markets
since they seem like bs long names to outsiders
like would you rather buy from Guangdong Ruixun Electronic Technology Co., Ltd
or just raesha
id buy from ruixun
they can just use ruixin though
its not like people see apple as Apple Incorporated
raesha is a newer name actually
that's just what they do though
if I were to guess it is because they make non-optical encoders now
🤷 it’s their choice ye
So a pot?
Or you mean just stuff that isn’t an optical encoder
encoders and pots are not the same
yea just regular mechanical encoders
they used to make optical ones
I associate pots and encoders with each other because pots can be used in the same way as encoders albeit with some extra work required
they can't though
while they both gather rotational data
they do in very different ways
a pot gives you an absolute position
an encoder gives you a relative rotation with a very limited granularity
you can do relative position on a pot using some clever circuit design and an ADC
you'll still be physically limited by the pot but it kinda works
to get one that can do more than one rotation you need a pot that is actually two pots lol
pots with two independent wipers do exist
i think a stax amp uses that
Ships in 1 week SRM-T8000 is Stax's latest flagship electrostatic headphone amplifier utilizing hybrid technology. It employs two 6922 in the input stage, driving a Class-A solid-state output stage. The vacuum tubes isolated in a separate section made of a vibration-proof damper and shield cover t
outer ring is independent
yea
but you can't "overturn" them
an encoder can keep turning in one direction forever essentially
no
you need a special pot
that has 2 wipers
and has them not locked
so you can read out two signals
and combine them to an absolute position
at that point wtf are you doing
just use a hall effect pot
or encoder
same thing for those really
by emulate I mean have the turning signal keep going at each end lol
you would be surprised at the lengths some people go for audio
when you reach the max/min position of the pot have the turn signal continue
that can actually turn further than one rotation
I mean I get a pot for amps
you get a pure digital signal
so you don't need any digital part in your entire chain
it makes sense once you read about it
sure the guy could've just used a encoder for the menu control but it saves space and costs less for the diyer
of course this is a niche as shit application
and im not saying you should use a pot in encoder applications lol
Yes and they still take up space
Implementing a mounting hole increases design time and manufacturing cost even if it is little
Actually installing it takes time too
In any case his intention of using the pot for menu control instead of a separate encoder was probably because he could lol
And it works so I really don’t see the issue here
because this is only switch tester i have
i also like membrane keyboards
because i am looking for either light linear that are very smooth in stock or light tactile with tactility in the middle and those are really hard to find
you are aware that GOOD springs are very cheap?
yes but why would i buy new springs if i can buy new switches
i like membrane because they are affordable and quiet
i have highest wpm on low profiled membrane keys
cause aftermarket springs are better
yes but then i pay for shipping twice plus need more work
i am not even able to hear ping in springs so idk
unlubed and lubed both feel the same to me
imo yellows have a nicer force curve
but they cost more
just looking for something between red and black because red are perfect for typing but black have much better return and are snappy for gaming and slow presses
i have pro milky yellow switches at home but bad batch
they bind and are very sticky
the pro version has some factory lube
yes pro version is really scratchy and sticky for me but it is probably bad batch
you know like mushy like soda is spilled on them
so idk do i get new yellow switches or get something else this time but idk if i can find anything people told me to get kang or strawberry but they cost triple
can u guys make this up for me Redragon k617 or k630?...Ik these are cheap keyboards but i want to know which is better
do you think stock ones are better
also if i get gateron i would probably get milky housing to have muted but idk nylon or milky
same pcb, pick the one that looks better to you
the sound n rgb?
idk, I always lube my switches by hand
i like the looks of 630 but the keycaps are better on the k617
neither one will sound good
i never lube them because i do not trust myself making them sticky
also pretty sure they are the same keycaps just different colors
why is red switch floaty compared to black is it because of spring weight and resistance
yes
yellows compensate that
with a longer spring
which makes them tighter at the top end
because when i press black slowly it moves smoothly but red is fine for slamming but pushing slowly it keeps skipping the distance like falling probably too soft of a spring right
idk what you mean
could i get 45g that was not floaty like 60g
when i try to press red down i am not able to consistently slowly press them because they are so soft so they just bottom out but black i am able to push down slowly because they have more resistance
red are very soft or light on top and actuation but fine at bottom out
i am not able to push red down slowly because they are so soft but they are great for typing
i am not able to use pretravel on them
because it is so soft on very top
you know black are fine to press down slowly because of resistance but red are great for typing but not to use pretravel because as soon as you try you accidentally actuate them if you know what i mean
idk why you would wanna press them slowly when gaming
guys i found a used g613 for 50 bucks
should i go for it?
or should i buy a redragon
romer g, avoid like the plague
dont understand
it has horrible switches
that like to fail
the boards are a pain to disassemble and use horrible solder
so replacing a switch isn't easy
and the keycaps like to break when you pull them off
i actually quite liked uvi and logitech keyboards
damn
So ill get the redragon?
romer g does not feel premium but romer g gives me the highest wpm
ever tried topre?
was the highest for me
although modded black SKCM blacks are also pretty high up there for me
no they are so hard to get and expensive here
but i hear some people really like them and some really hate them
you can usually get them for like 150-200€ here
i paid 160eur for my v3
main reason why I don't like them is that modding them is an absolute pain

also modding topre gets expensive quick
Does this keyboard sound good? Gmk67 and gateron milky yellows. I’m going to holee mod the stabs and lube them and then lube the switches. And I’ll tape the bottom of thr pcb
i usually do not mod anything
is yong selling original krytox
yong?
dunno who/what that is
I'd avoid holee modding altogether
just makes stabs mushy
i buy cheap xda keycaps there usually since they have no shipping
price seems about okay
dunno why you would want 205g0 in a dropper
way too viscous for that

Meh I did it on another keyboard made it sound pretty good and they didn’t feel to mushy
thing is all eu vendors for me have 15eur or 20eur shipping
just learn how to lube right

you can get stabs that aren't fundamentally flawed to be perfect with just 205g0
idk if i trust myself lubing
xht-bdz if you are lazy
i thought about trying many times
idk, it is mainly a mundane task
only thing you should be concious of is that less is usually better
Yea I mean just made them less raddly one still had a bit of a raddle
i have plenty of time to lube
problem is my ocd is giving me anxiety to do such delicate things
i think im gonna have to agree with plouffe that the silent switches aren't very satisfying. i have to have some sort of click to know that what i've pressed has gona through..and also the clicks are just satisfying
Click is a sound
What you are talking about is tactile response
Also if you bottom them they have registered unless they are broken
And if you don't bottom them then there's not much use in getting silenced switches ...
Also there's silenced tactile switches like boba u4 and kailh silent box brown and probably some others ...
in english click is a sound but in my language click is a feel
i guess a lot of people use click to explain tactility for the same reason
No not really
You're the second one I see here to do that
Switches are clicky, tactile and linear ...
Not clicky with sound, click without sound and linear ... it's just confusing to everybody when the proper terms are not used
i am talking about dictionary in my language click here is different than click in english but both are said the same way
many people use the word click as press
clicky is a popular term that is mostly associated with switches that produce a clicky sound and have tactility in them
but they were not created as clicky switches in the beginning the word clicky prevailed because it was most commonly used by community which is just widely accepted but not set in stone
when someone says click the button what do you do
do you make a sound click or do you press it
it is not confusing to anyone
it is just people try to gatekeep terms
i still remember terms in my english college classes where it said "click the button"
Click means both to me
yes it is a synonym
is this sarcasm? it is confusing to me
that is to say when people say click ambiguously
it is simple click is a synonym it means "press" and it means "sound"
idk why people try to be so closed minded to terms
yes that part i get, i mean when people say it
i do understand click within the context of this framework of switches is different than click in grammatical and book framework
but it is not hard to understand people who are new to this thing are usually gonna be using english terms rather than switch terms
people still call teal blue
what's wrong with that
but some people see teal as teal but it is still within the category of blue
just saying it is not black and white it is not right or wrong it is dark gray and light gray
people seem to gatekeep and not accept any new opinions idk why people have problems and need to all of the sudden unleash their insecurities upon other people
i didn't mean it that way
not you but a lot of people do always when i see someone new it is better to explain it to them and understand try be open minded but i see people lash out and attack new members how they are too stupid to learn terms and i do not thing this is helpful approach
each community has elitists same with old school metalheads not letting new bands play it is really narrow minded
@cunning anvil hey dude
Don’t worry about revan
He is just sometimes very rude and extremely toxic for no reason
Best you can do is just ignore his rants
Idk why he’s going on about elitism for no reason what so ever, I think he’s just mad about how he got banned from another keyboard server for being toxic
what's the crunchiest cheapest fully mechanical 60% keeb on amazon
i want to be obnoxious in discord calls lmao
Agreed, I’ve seen his rants before. The guy is a certified idiot
Put your mic right next to a rk61 with blues
100% foolproof way to get kicked from discord calls
Any keeb with blue switches and shitty stabalizers
i bought this one lmao
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B091L99336?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image
💀
That’ll do it
MageGee is a name for sure 🫡
bros scheming over here
I’m getting a gmk delivered soon with some milky yellows and really cheap keycaps
god this thing's gonna be so crunchy lmfao
Do y’all like my keyboard
I think Dyson would love that
I wish it was Lego so someone could step on it
What does this mean
What keyboard does Linus use???
Nobody say that tho
Yes it is cause you don't know if it's a language thing or a beginner's mistake or misuse of the proper terms ...
We mostly say press, but click would work in some cases
I think I just made the perfect zero compromise layout (for my needs at least)
Wait I just realized I basically made a 17" laptop keyboard 💀
ik a guy who uses that
it looked weirdly familiar
Lmao, Yeah a little different tho
I put a full size shift but its not in the standard position
Also full size enter and + on the num pad
Nice keeb tho!
yea it looks like yours is 1u longer
Very fun legend on the key caps
I like you're dedicated division and times key
.
oh you know a guy*!
I read that wrong
I like *the dedicated division and times key
its a fun layout
esp considering this was a 75 at first
oh wait yours is p much a compact 96
Yeah
I would just get a 96 but I really want the full size shift
The small shift never grew on me as long as ive known about it
i feel like most people don't use the normal right shift enough to care
Honesty true, I hardly ever use it either, It just looks funky to me
wdym what does it mean
It literally says its arrived at departure transport hub
omg keyboard ship next monday :DDDDD
so excited for 2 weeks then it comes in broken and i then ask for refund
waste of 600 dollars
if they say they like clicky you ask them do you mean tactile bump or clicky sound
easiest way to ask them is if they talk about silent or quiet clicky switches this is what i observed how beginners usually describe them
Wah
there is one keyboard i forgot the name of... but it has like a huge analog glock on the back of it which looks super cool, ofc sold out but it was like around 400-500$? I think but I forgot the name
something with time i believe it was called but couldnt find anything
analog glock?
he means clock
its the Time80
my friend has one
pretty underrated
@raven finch
the clock doesnt work btw, its just a print
my friend's board
original one was better
no windows buttom☠️
If they say clicky it's a clicky switch ... that's how it works ... nobody call tactile quiet clicky besides you
yeah unfortunately
are you blind literally a guy before called them that this is why we talked about it
start using your head of how people think rather than follow crowd mentality and gatekeeping the words
this is why many new members usually leave because no one explains it to them you just attack them
imagine being so offended by new member calling tactile switches clicky switches
brings me a smile no one has before
this is all i have to say if you want to unleash your insecurities to new members go ahead
:3
i am not gonna waste my time again on this nonsense
holy shit we should totally get married
hi nightpie
hai
hi dark lord revan
are there brass keyboards made of bullet casings
revan is like the king of uninvited ad hominems
dude just comes at you for no reason
Yeah I see that
Attacking people and such
Really a nice guy
As the following the crowd mentality ... he couldn't be that more wrong about me ...
Also if there's someone willing to explain stuff it's probably me ... I've explained 2 or 3 time now and it's just not sinking in I guess ...
Hey I want to buy / build a Keyboard. Problem is I think about getting Glorious GMMK Pro Problem is I don't now if like or feel comfortable with a 75% tlk keyboard. And I have never tried a custom keyboard
75 feels cramped to me
I far prefer a TKL
BUT I have a 75 I use when I'm space constrained
I got used to it for sure, but it isn't my first choice. YMMV.
I don't find the space saved in a 75% vs TKL is really worth it
i'll take a TKL any day
Hey navy
When I work at home, I have my main KB on my main monitor and it's a TKL. On one side I have a second monitor and my personal PC is on that (main monitor is run through a KVM).
So a 75% sits on my right with a second mouse. a TKL wouldn't fit and leave mousing space
But that is a VERY limited use case. I wouldn't take a 75% for daily use by choice.
it does a little but i still think 75 looks the best next to 80
60 and 65 are far too small for me
i like anything but normal v1 version with knob
idk why but unsymmetrical arrows on 75 kill me also i like tofu65 far more than zoom65 because of that small gap
KBD75 has normal arrows
The KBD75 honestly was the only 75 I considered. You lose the R Win key. You lose two keys from the ins/del/home/end/pgup/pgdn cluster and that's it
Any good mac supported keyboards?
Because my current keyboard is the basic one you get put of a he box
keychron
Good afternoon keyboards
Hey
V series
ye ikik but I remember it being there
what is the best low travel distance tactile switch
Or any long pole stem tactiles like Tecsee Purple Panda
gotta give it to designers of gmk blot, that is some badass marketing
Where to get an Anne Pro 2? Its always unavailable!
I have a Cynosa Chroma, but they keys dont seem to want to pop off. Is it just hard to pull off or will I break these keys?
From Razr
You might break them
get a new keyboard
Which one? Mind you I don't really know that much on peripherals, I don't need anything fancy. I thought this was a good one
use two flatheads on either side of the keycap as levers
I’d reccomend the keychron V series, they come in many sizes. Just so you know the numbers just mean the size
The V4 is a fully customizable mechanical keyboard suitable for different scenarios. It’s an entry-level custom keyboard with a mini 60% layout, QMK/VIA support, an acoustic silicone pad, and double-shot PBT keycaps to provide you with a great typing feel and endless possibilities.
Here’s one of their many options
How does this 2006 keyboard make you feel
Well it’s not membrane as far as I can see
It is…

And I games on that
Are there cheaper switches that sound like the u4t bobas I’m alr spending 300 on the zoom 75
I can recommend you a decent keyboard discord too, if you need an immediate response there’s always someone there
Because I personally wouldn’t know
drop it, looking for a keyboard
Can’t send it here, I could DM it though
that works
Is SteelSeries Apex 3 any good?
glorified rubber dome for a quick cash grab
So, no?
yea
like i respect you if you want a rubber dome, but this is just a scam
Says it's unavailable
where are you from?
Kyrgyzstan
oh no wonder
Pretty bad place for anything computer related
Straight up no amd GPUs
Anyway
What about the G413?
it is mechanical
the feel is kinda ehhh, but at least its not gonna have the mushy feeling when you bottomed out the key
I'll keep looking then
if finding good value things are too hard for you, just get the g413
For a $1k gaming rig what budget should I give my keyboard?
anything that uses gateron, cherry, outemu, kailh, ttc switches, etc
that should be in your consideration
The pc budget does not include monitor mouse keyboard etc
like 100 usd?
Okay
Ornata v3?
Wait
It seems to be both mechanical and membrane
Nvm then
I want the sound of the keys
its membrane with a metal thingy to create a click sound
It's just so satisfying to me
Why
Isn't it marketed as silent
Or wait
Am I looking in the wrong places
Found an outemu keyboard
The aoc gk500 seems to be well praised judging by reviews
Do I need to loop the kailh silver switches?
you do not have to lube them but they are a lot smoother if you do than stock
kailh switches are quite scratchy but stock are still not bad
Last time i order anything from kbdfans
Chinese bullshit
Cant even get it past their own boarder
Was supposed to arrive yesterday
Paid 25 dollars shipping too only to get shit shoveled in my face
Hey I'm thinking about getting the akko mod 007v2 as my first keyboard. Is it a good or bad?
depends what you want
if ur gaming at all or not
if ur gaming, dont touch custom keyboards with a 10 foot pole
why not?
ultra trash latency
like 125hz polling rate
chord splitting
any other keyboard is like 1000-8000hz
i havent noticed :/ can i fix that?
do you want linear or clicky
linear
wtf thats expensive
hall effect linear switches that cant break, adjustable actuation
its CHEAPER than the akko
i got mine a few days ago
analog too
yeah but its like all my current keyboards combined
Sounds like china, try Aliexpress or Wish
idk i think its worth it, no other keyboard as advanced or able to compete
has the best software ive ever seen too
can literally set 4 macros each at their own key actuation distance, ultra detailed
what games is it good for?
apex overwatch stuff like that
csgo its good for counter strafing
you can also play racing games with the analog switch feature
borderlands?
some games benefit more from it but they all are noticable faster
it has a rapid trigger feature where it stops the command the second you let go of the key
no
normal keys have a fixed actuation
you have to wait for the key to pass it again
Won’t help you
before it turns off
unless you’re at the point where shaving milliseconds is important
i dont play for fast i just play games man
so true
Today Henry will show you how to get the most out of our keyboards and how to get an insane speed advantage in FPS games.

ik im just saying its the top of the line shit for gaming, as well as easily competing with many "custom" keyboards in terms of sound and aesthetics
out of the box it has lubes stabs and semi lubed switches
I think everyone customs wise agrees it’s not a good board
you can get something similar for like 40$
it’s cool tech but not a good board
why not
shit mount implementation, wacky plate,””prelubed”” switches, the stabs are alright I guess
i dont think i need to pay that much for a keyboard
case literally does nothing for a keyboard
only aesthetics
theres no competing with the wootings pcb and software
universally agreed upon
40$ keyboard thats "similar"
with 125hz alibaba pcb and no software
also i do like toying around with custom pcbs, and idc, ive been playing games on customs firmware for a while and it seems to do what i want
the most atrocious latency and software support ever
that same pcb in all the top custom keyboards too
keychron tested at 20ms latency
on their models
ok?
can imagine the rest are similar
so a tray mount, plastic case, “””prelubed””” switches and keycaps, 60%
like i said, not advertised for gaming
with like what
so if you dont game then get whatever you want
i play games
7ms of delay, who cares?
i dont "game"
Red!
custom keyboard infants entire view on keyboards revolving around aesthetics only
gladly forking over 100s for some overporiced paperweight
have you done the 100% ortho
not yet, waiting on the funds lol
but hey at least your 125hz china pcs thoC thOCK thOCKs for your reddit post
rip
tax season
what’re you gonna put in it
idk
maybe, i do have milkys left over
always a good choice
otherwise i wanna try some silent tactile? idk
and the funny part is the higher you go in price the more diminishing returns you get
many top brands using acryllic cases or other plastic shit
worse quality than a 30$ red dragon board
Haimu is nice
could cnc mill my own case thats better
their whispers are nice
ooh did i show you the stacked case someone local did?
integrated plate?
yeah
ooh maybe
the most delusional "hobby" ive ever seen. no one cares about specs or latency or anything functional. battle of who has more THoCK and who spends more on overpriced warped keycaps. pointless trying to explain stuff to people who are blinded by shiny lights
no lights except a caps lock indicator on this rn lmao
have you seen gmk windowed?
let me pull it up
Valid, but I’d argue there’s a few people I know who find balance
they try and convince themseleves that the more they unload, the better quality it must be
when its the same aluminium shit in every budget keyboard
out of the same chinese factory
whew
Not budget necessarily like spend money on quality parts
Vit what makes you think that?
i look at firmware and innovation and shit that can OBJECTIVELY be measured as "better" or not when it comes to keyboards
what have you tried that makes you think that
Actuation points?
okay so i dislike the stagger, and that is my primary function
Or how silent something is?
Bout what do I get if I want a fast keyboard that is good for gaming and give some optimization?
no shit like chord splitting, latency, polling rate, debounce algorithm
Hate split
basically every keyboard ive had has chattered, sooner or later
its literally built into the switch design with a debounce algorith
still objectively staggered
hall effect is IMPOSSIBLE to chatter because it doesnt have the debounch
stagger is better
same for optical switches
ortho looks clustered
have yet to chatter on this keyboard so money already well spent
40s are so cute :c
4x10 chocolate bar is my fav layout bc im just dumb
I was considering picking up a mercutio but I realized it’d probably sit on a shelf
(chocolate bar being shape not a kb name)
How much of a keyboard could I 3d print
Could I just get the board and the switches
wdym
Nvm
I think you might be looking for a kit
Maybe but I think it would be cool to 3d print the keys at least
kits are usually everything but the switches and keycaps
Oh ok cool
budget?
Is vit short for vitriol?
no one actually wants to talk about specs, would rather talk about their placebo sound mods or other obscure bullshit niche topics
not going to bother talking to deaf ears
im not even talking about gaming
I don’t really care if I make the wrong choice and die 6ms faster tbh
i like touching ortho placed keys
just technology in general
switches that cant chatter, have infinite lifespan, and better firmware
and adjustable actuation
No idea, my interest started one minute ago when I saw this channel lmao
but no go back to lubing your gateron dumpster brown switches or whatever theyre called
placebo
why are you so angry people dont want to talk about what you want
A heads up that lekker wooting switches are manufactured by gateron :^)
yeah no shit
Is there any negative points Bout getting a costume keyboard?
maybe just the hole in your pocket
the chattering and latency issues only happens with wireless/shitty boards
^^
happens in every keyboard with a physical switch
sooner or later
some brands handle debounce better
can look up some cherry mx graphs and literally SEE the chatter spike
👍
Me with red outemus… 💀
literally something BUILT into every keyboard
would be wrong to say it never chatters
the only thing is crappy trash pcbs that are 125hz wont pick up chatter as easily
as say 1000hz or 4000hz
when i had some 125hz ducky it wasnt as noticable as my last 4000hz keyboard
Well, its all relative
imagine using usb for gaming though
if you want objective best, get the one that interrupts and has nkro
and im not even a hardcore gamer, i just appreciate good tech and functionality, WITH the option of making it look aesthetically same as any overpriced custom keyboard paperweight
Which keyboard has a higher hz?
My school has a printer and I figured it would be a neat project
I could try to design the keys maybe, I'd probably just use a template thk
Tho
but I don’t really care about Hall effect because it’s not implemented on a large scale, nor do I have any use for the benefits of it
makes NO sense to spend 10x more money on something with the SAME internals as anything else being put out today
Wooting looks like a copy of razer
no clear upgrade just diminishing returns
good for you, i prefer to have features in my firmware, and unless you can do a one shot mod/ tap dance/ combo, i dont think wooting is any use to me
only factor is who lubes the switch more and has better cases
shit that you do anyways so doesnt matter
I can notice the different in mount implementations and plates, I can’t tell the difference between 1ms response time and 10ms
besides, didnt qmk enabe 1000hz defaults?
Is the 007 v2 DIY Kit bad for gaming?
ooh what kind
gmk pulse
yeah
most custom keyuboard "enthusiasts" wouldnt know good specs if it hit them in the face
he gave me the kitting for the numpad as a gift because I bought a murphpad
all the more reason to not care about the specs???
murphpad isn’t here yet but this got here
if you cant tell why pay triple the price to boost your polling rate
THATS the issue
children CANT tell what a good product is
or how a keyuboard SHOULD feel
too used to 125hz walmart pcbs
triple the price just to make the same decision where you die but this time 8ms faster
or what actual good software is
firmware
so which keyboard is good in perspective to gaming. Or should I stick to the classic prebuild keyboards?

do whatever you want to but if you really care about gaming seriously then stay away from the money pit called custom keyboards
who tf said i was gonna game seriously
or even if you care about good firmware at the very least
qmk does what i want
which is a bit more than i can say for "gaming keyboard" software
ot talking to you
okay
fun fact solder can easily melt the cabling around your cable
plastics amirite
iPhone camera doesn’t do justice… will get photos with nice camera tomorrow
Such a shame they closed down…
Beside the money waste are the keyboard as good/Better or worst as a prebuild one
Does anybody know if the flux keyboard is a scam? It definitely seems like it just because of how advanced the tech would be and they're running a Kickstarter. Surely you'd be able to get actual investors with a working product like that.
every kickstarter has the potential to be a scam
and why would people invest in a keyboard that doesn't really improve on existing keyboards?
Hey, would anyone here be able to help me find a full size white mechanical keyboard for reasonably cheap. Whether that means a DIY kit or just a full keyboard I don't mind.
I'm having trouble finding anything for less than around $200aud which is above my budget
Thinking whether to buy a keyboard or to buy a gaming chair (the chair I'm using is destroying my back)
a good ergonomic chair would be my pic
Depends on how much you want to spend on a good chair
definitely a chair
steelcase leap v2 is great unless you already know you like the aeron or want an embody
depends what you want. Most prebuilts will be faster and have more support, but wont be as aesthetically pleasing and have a ton of modding options
So if you only care about sound/looks then making your own budget option is better
“Budget” keyboard in this hobby is pricey by default
“Custom” keyboards wont be as good for gaming. Theyre not advertised to be. Very rarely will you have good gaming specs AND custom keyboard levels of sound/aesthetics
Wooting is an exception since it has a ton of modding capability
chair >>>> keyboard
So can anyone here help me?
never buy a gaming chair or a racing chair this is all i can say
i would recommend to get an ergonomic chair with breathable mesh there are really cheap ones sold by ikea and uvi
get an aeron
is it possible to remove keycaps without a tool?
Bout for example the Razer huntsman (V1) has a poling rate of 1000 bout the 007 v2 DIY Kit and GMMK pro also hase the same poling rate
i had ikea and uvi chairs for years never had an issue
gaming and herman chairs just boost prices for same material
you can easily remove them with fingers
Yes the body isn't made for siting 8H or more in one position
bigger keys i rather remove with fingers
every pose makes you fatigue through time
but wrong poses cause fatigue faster
Mine is hard to pluck
what profile do you use
some are harder to remove
No lol, this just tells everyone you’ve never actually tried a herman miller/steelcase chair
Has someone tried Stainless steel keycaps im thinking about buying bout im not sure if they even fit
actually i have but i will not pay 2k or 3k for a chair
Highly doubt it
my friend has the one but not sure which model it felt same as my uvi focus chair
if you want to pay just for brand name go ahead
also our local retailer has them in shop you can try them
It's just a logitec chair calm down
wat dat mean
what shape are your keycaps
imagine paying more for chair than pc
probably oem or cherry
oem
yes those will be hard to remove with fingers
oh
you can also use switch puller
well you can use hands but depends if you can get a good grip and angle
i usually remove keycaps from stabilizers with my fingers
meh ill rather use the puller
i eitther have a bad grip or this thing is really sitting down hard
space and enter are only hard to remove with keycap puller
i use my fingers for those
my back space is sounding a bit weird
i removed the keycap
there wasnt anything wrong
but it sounds a bit wrong
the switch is smooth
and the keycap isnt scratching anything
idk
it gives a pop sound when i let go of the key
other keys are fine tho
Someone sent you a number pad from disc wow
Anyone else see this https://youtube.com/watch?v=N7OVagiblPo&feature=share
A keyboard which adapts to you. Any software, any language, any style.
Back now on Kickstarter: https://bit.ly/getfluxkeyboard
Prototype Shown.
It’s a cool concept but I have a suspicion that it won’t work out
both same polling rate but gmmk pro isnt 1ms
- i like optical switches for the simple fact its impossible to chatter
No debounce algorithm
Especially if you are using a high polling rate board, chattering more noticable
Compared to a 125hz
it was a birthday gift!
it’s the numpad part of gmk pulse
Oh cool hbd
starburst
I've tried both Aeron and Leap V2.
Aeron I felt the metal frame digging into my legs always and I used the right size chair too.
Leap V2 the stock cushion is a little thin. I swapped the cushion with one from Crandall office and it's the perfect chair now.
Hi keyboarders!
Lol
🫶
🫶
So is the 007 v2 DIY Kit besser as the gmmk pro
I need some websites with cool and unique keycap sets
I'm still waiting on my ceramic set from a kickstarter last year and I'm just desperate to look at something new
Who pissed in your corn flakes
No way your complaining about keyboards in a keyboards chat
Also keyboards aren’t really about the internals
It’s about the enjoyment of creating it
And 99% Of people won’t notice an extra bit of latency from from a custom Mech
Drop, dekster, gmk, lots of different keycaps on Etsy or Alli express
Hi
Well my budget is around like 40 dollars lol
Yeah. Or...wait no I guess I wasted my money on my Scarlet. Coulda had a hot swap PCB in a plastic case for an order of magnitude less.
125hz vs 1000hz is less about latency, more about missed keypresses really. It isn't TOO hard to overload a 125hz keyboard. Did it to a Thinkpad extreme pretty easily - theirs pole at 120
yes, exactly why I said the aeron was polarising
Hello
How have you been ?
L
Nice
Where are you going ?
I’m in a different state since Friday last week
Japan and Taiwan
I so want to go to Japan someday
I’m going to eat lots of food
Gonna try some street ramen vendor ?
Yeah
We going to nom nom
Damn, always wanted to go to somewhere in Asia for the traditional foods, my friend and I have a pact to do it someday
Or anywhere outside the US, although I know many people who I’m grateful have made me traditional food (best food)
Well if you ever go to Quebec you have to try poutine ... and stuff with maple syrup I guess
does keybaord kits come with everything except keycaps and switches?
