i have swapped all keycaps and they appear to be much smoother now also lesser angle
but they appear to be seated right above right
some still feel a bit scratchier on top not sure if they are not correctly in but they seem to be all the way they can be inside or is this because of inconsistent factory lube
because for example s and d seem to be both in the same but s is much smoother than d which is scratchy on top
@sleek sable gonna switch just deciding on which ones gonna wait till i get paid first tho
Smart, there are also kits you can buy with like one of each switch type to help you decide which one to get
cool
Anyone got keyboard recommendations?
Tiger lite
Anyone know any split 75% keyboards, preferably with a knob? Just the barebones case and pcb is fine, I can get switches and keycaps separately
Keycron just made one q11 I think it's called
Ooh I’ll check that out thanks
Np
Ltt or mkbhd mat
Is Corsair mm350 pro comparable
its just a desk mat pick whatever you like
finally finished lubing all my switches, and put my keyboard back together (peep the physics hw)
I have a Razer Huntsman V2 TKL and I noticed the wrist rest doesn’t attach with magnets. Wondering if I could buy some flexible magnetic adhesive sheets and cut them and attach them to the keyboard and wrist rest to make it magnetic.
Bought the board for $72 on Amazon as “Like New”. Didn’t come with a cable so bought one on Amazon as well. Saw GameStop has a Full-Size Pre-Owned Huntsman V2 for $69. Not sure if it is worth returning the Amazon one for that one. Anyone have any luck with GameStop Pre-Owned deals for Keyboards?
Well, my keyboard isnt going to be delivered until may, thats fantastic
canceled my order
i cant wait that long lmao
doctor's handwriting
now to try to find another gasket mount 65%
only may!?!?! thats so fast
ive only waited 2 years for mine
i waited almost 2 years for my serika 2s
i just wanna get this thing built
i have everything but the board itself now
luckily my keyboard arrived within 8 months
lucky bastard
i was thinking i should get a keychron
im still waiting for my board
but idk if thats worth it
that's practically overnight shipping
its 2 years and still counting
they say last month but it has yet to even started shipping it to us
might just get a keychron q7, its alu frame, hotswap, and gasket mount
only thing i dont want is the feet
only buy keychron if you are not using it for gaming at all
otherwise you will enjoy the 10-20-30ms latency
yikes
pay high end premium price just for some "custom enthusiast" board
while the pcb is some $15 walmart linear pcb
with awful latencies
only get it if you dont care about gaming or anything
and good luck finding a board for gaming with good specs
most of the "custom" brands only focus on sound and aesthetics
i run a higround now because my pok3r died
and honestly its really good
i could just modify it for now i guess
really thought about the old gen tofu65 but thats plate mount so its not gonna be much better than my higround aside from having the aluminum body
wooting probably the best in terms of technology and customization
best new firmware and innovative technology with hall effect switches
cant beat it with latency and durability
sadly they dont have a 65
ive always wondered why so many brands just delete right ctrl
do you even need it
60% keyboard has a feature that lets you use the bottom right keys as arrow keys
tap it and it acts as arrow keys
i prefer having actual arrow keys, i had my pok3r for like 3 years and i missed having arrows
honestly you don't need to worry too much about keyboard latency
I use a realforce R1 that has a 125hz polling rate afaik
and I can still play fine against the top 1% of apex legends players lol
its always your aim and mechanics that bottleneck you
until you get to the point where you're so consistent to the level of a pro, peripheral latency doesn't matter much
unless you play a rhythm game I guess
the problem with current contact switches is chatter
which lower polling rate helps aliveate this problem
an mx keyboard doesn't chatter even with 1khz polling
prob vit bad luck then
vit and the other dude seems to either not know what chatter is, or they're exaggerating to support their argument
i occasionally get chatter
and its prob because my pcb is kinda bent
if its such a big problem no one in the esports scene would use mx based keyboards
and suprise, almost everyone does
https://youtu.be/v5BhECVlKJA?t=2795
this explained chatters and shit really well imo
This is an extremely detailed report on all the technical variables that are relevant to the plague of prematurely 'failing' OMRON switches on modern PC mice that more and more users have experienced lately, like the popular Logitech gaming mice (and other manufacturers too): this is NOT an attack on brands and manufacturers, but I have to talk ...
i mean, i was using my pok3r to be ranked 43 in the world in cod ww2
so its not really a huge deal
yeah exactly
if the latancy is similar to the pok3r then its a nonissue here
its called not using slow shit keyboards
any keyboard with high polling rate will chatter
I get wanting to upgrade to a objectively better sensing tech but mx like never chatters lol
why all the custom keyboard children never see it because they are playing on some awful 30ms 125hz alibaba pcb
but at least it thoCCs thOCC
I used to use gaming keyboards too m8
also, if chatter is such a problem
shit that uses the same sensing technology like the og mx518 which gains legendary status would not have that status
it doesn't happen as often as you would like us to believe
and instead get something like: oh this mouse chatter and double click like ass
before i was on the pok3r i used the hyperx alloy
this hunt for high as fuck poling rate led to ineffective pcb design as well
cant wait for 12 layers pcb for that 6000 mhz polling rate
honestly, i dont even play games competitively anymore anyway
the things I would do to go back to the days when I was a cracked addled kid to play cs on the setup I have now 😔
guess im gonna get a keychron q2 because a local company has it in stock so it will deliver fast
like the problem i see with latency of peripherals is that even if you have zero latency from your mouse or keyboard
you would still have other kinds of latency stack on top before your signal reach to the server of your multiplayer games
apparently its "ive never experienced chatter so the issue must NOT exist" when it inherently exists with all MX style switches using electrical contacts inside the switch body
and its on the order of low miliseconds
cherry spec for "5ms" debounce time
so unless you use a 125hz keyboard with a really long debounce algorithm it will eventually show up as they age and fall just outside the window
especially on 1000hz boards
the more "chatter proof" a keyboard with mx switches is the worse the latency
that still doesn't prove its a pressing issue really
chattering is more of a severe annoyance when typing
having to go back and correct mistyped words
when it was the switches adding the letters
yeah when it happens lmao
which usually doesn't
except for you and vit apparently
run a 1000hz keyboard that has a reasonable amount of latency and it will show up
I have
tradeoff from shit switch design
its really not a issue
thats called not using 125hz high latency alibaba pcb
my current board is 4000hz
and it happens too often
that sounds like a you problem
the only keyboards that i have never seen chatter on using cherry style switches are the super cheap low polling interval
like a 30 dollar clone
improve your aim/mechanics instead of coping with peripheral latency dude
you problem
seriously that is pathetic
so your point is that to minimize chatter we would add more latency from the peripherals, and that would lose you kills
no just going to avoid buying keyboards with shit switches and only go with optical/hall effect/capacitive
if its not for gaming i have some model M keyboards
I won't deny mx style is pretty shit but damn you are on some copium
i have used a model M for gaming before and its better than half the junk mx styles ive used except for the 2kro and requiring a ps2 port on the motherboard
ps2 to usb active converters add a huge amount of latency
he doesn't know
i also have a model F but it has to use a converter and is ISO instead of ANSI layout which is why i dont use it daily
have not seen it chatter once
exactly
better switch technology
now thats pretty sad comparing how old that is to new keyboards
would think manufacturers would have learned something
no we just have to pump out the cheap shit and add software debouncing to "solve" the issue
with a flawed switch technology
I don't think you understand just how expensive it was to manufacture capsense buckling springs
quite a bit more than what modern mechanicals sell for but not compared to what some people spend on customs
I agree most customs are stupid
but cost is the reason why everyone started using mx
buy a china shit pcb for 300 dollars and ABS keycaps for 300
accessibility as well
and then over a dollar a piece on recolored MX switches
and unload ass lube into it
yeah pretty stupid
and make a reddit post
dick measuring contest who has a longer list of "mods"
elitist assholes
you guys aren't much better though so lets stop this
yeap
better than the children blindly recommending the most overpriced shit and claming everything custom is somehow better
trying to validate their own worthless overprice purchase
goat in a nutshell
just look at the number of times someone builds a custom for some streamer or pro player or youtuber for "800 dollars" "900 dollars" its used on stream once and then shelved
they just go back to their sponsor brands or some generic gaming brand
i mean ofc
because all the custom trash is "not made for gaming"
they are good enough to play on whatever and playing on the sponsors keeb gets the money
why wouldnt they
you actually look at that shit?
manufacturers admitting thats not a priority
would rather sell an ovepriced aluminum case that thOCCs
for 600$
to a gullible child in this channel
so he can rave about his purchase
you're right but this isn't the channel to complain in
go complain on PCMR or something like that
you're not saying what i want to see in a public chatroom
need more keychron circle jerking
or GMK keycap circle jerk
meh
wait 4 months for a bent space bar "in tolerance"
clown community
getting what they deserve for buying into it
custom craftsmanship shown
What board?
Using the Feker IK75 V3 Pro
Looks really nice
With Boba U4 rgb 65g switches
Finally got rid of my gateron blues Keychron K2v2
Gonna be difficult to get used to this layout
Iirc this layout is ANSI im used to ISO and im also using american layout when im used to a Nordic layout
Hello
Weird question but I wanted to figure out how to display a keyboard while having the rgb on
But when I just plug it into the wall it seems like it's not plugged in and when I plug it into something like my iPad it works with the same lighting as my PC would have
Kinda confused why and can't find the answer online
Like sure I get that it would need the software and that the lighting settings maybe aren't on the keyboard itself but why when I plug it into my iPad that has no software for it I get the same lighting as my PC would give?
Same with my phone
powr bank
powah
i am gonna sell keychron and get logitech or leopold it is all black for 120eur or 130eur with cherry mx red
and not bother anymore with changing keycaps and switches
I've tried plugging it into 3 different power banks and into the wall
Thought maybe the power bank would be "smarter" since one has a display and another tells you the %
I have lubed quite a few switches in the past. I have lubed these with Tribosys 3204 using a thin brush and now they bind like hell. Any idea of what might be causing this?
I have lubed quite a few switches in the past. I have lubed these with Tribosys 3204 using a thin brush and now they bind like hell. Any idea of what might be causing this?
this is the problem
on it
Try a 5v 500ma supply
gat milky yellow are best rated switches on the internet
yet they have the most problems
so theyre not the best lol
then why does everyone recommend them
i was already buying red ones and then people were like no do not get red ones
if i got them i would have no issues now
i guess i will sell keychron and look for prebuilt all black
since anything i change is not compatible
idk maybe akko or leopold since it comes in all black with cherry mx red
gonna buy one of these
prob
i dont think everyone recommends them
because i dont
ks3>
gat full nylon yellows
have you considered the following: filing the top housing stem edge
tried everything and gave them to a friend and he said it is batch problem so idk
i lubed them and put films inand same problem
because i am not experienced
i am not even sure what that means
i do not even know what is edge of top housing
A FILE
idk what is a file
NAIL FILE
how do i nail a file
yes but what is a file
you clearly just have a massive skill issue
no shit it is my first time
but still they should not come this problematic
why would i try and fix damaged switches
if i can return them for new ones
are you returning them?
you dont seem to be actively trying to remedy the problem so i assume you were fine with it
time for another week of shipping
idk if they will take them back
i have one day delivery on candykeys
i would like to solve this issue
but every server calls me baby with skill issue if i say this is not an issue because i tested it
don't you think it might literally just be a skill issue if every server you've been in responded in the same way?
no because there are a ton of issues on reddit same ones and solved as manufacturing issues which clearly shows that people give advice without knowing what they talk about
people told me i have crooked keycaps not switches
it turns out i have bad switches not keycaps
which shows that people claim things without actually looking into problem
people told me i have skill issue and blame myself
and then i looked on reddit that it actually is a manufacturing problem
i did just reddit keeps denying my research
i know what housing it did you not see a sarcasm
have you tried using google i heard its pretty good
i know what films are and housing with stem also leaf
you dont know what a file is
"lol you got troll totally that was sarcasm?"
defense mechanism of a child
L + ratio so
solution was fixing damaged switches
stupid way of not just returning them
it is not even file problem
it is batch problem
this is like saying get eye surgery for cancer
this is the problem you just recommend wrong thigns
it's a solution not the one only solution
it is not even solution that would solve anything
it is more of a time wasting action
it fix stick doesn't it?
i mean id rather waste time on a solution that works than deal with returns
i hate customer service >.>
so i am supposed to damage switches that they will not even return back later
damaged and fixed will never be as pristine as new
i dunno returning sounds like a solution
it does but then i am left without siwtches
wealth issue ;-;
are you the kinda person to resell when you're bored of a cap set
/switches
no used market is banned here
i am only looking to make a single endgame keyboard
i am type of perosn that gets endgame stuff not experiment
not asking to buy, just wondering what value they may have to you
oh
none
they have value but i do not care about them
to me they are just wasted money
i do not understand
no i will tell vendor to take them back
one vendor already said they will take them
oh but I thought they have no value to you?
you're just contradicting yourself
no you are just not reading it correctly
keycaps are not valued to me but money is
keycaps as keycaps i do not care

but i want to get my money back
what's your endgame?
getting all black keyboard that i can use for 5 or 6 years
most likely with idk probably red or brown switches
yes i want to get everything matte black
and i am not able to find a single matte black keyboard
angle tkl had a matte black option
no because i was too busy pointing out your skill issues
it's more a wealth issue isn't it
which inherently is a skill issue
im not sure
i can afford it but i will not waste so much money on a keyboard
because it is clearly a scam of monopoly
monopoly of keycaps if they manufactured enough
keycaps should be the cheapest part of a keyboard
there is literally thousands of choices
it is nothing more than basic plastic
shouldnt it be the switches
but still they only print them in limited amounts
because it is the switches
yes there are far more expensive materials and prints in switches than keycaps
switches use the same mold
keycaps are just normal pbt plasic
i can go to the mall and buy a toy out of pbt
aliexpress keycaps are just as good as gmk
switches materials are also not that expensive compared to the molds of switches
also good mold process makes better caps
idk kitting, shot types, custom molding, packaging, qcing
i am not able to find a single set of keycaps in black and white on prebuilt keyboard
they are all colorful like they want to catch predators
switches are just, materials, molding, assembling qcing and done
you can print keycaps in single mold
but you need multiple items for switches and lube them
keycaps are just like bottlecaps
and bottlecaps are easy to make
no you need different molds for different types of shots
and different kitting requires different molds
theres singleshots, doubleshots, trishots, quadshots
then theres also legends
did you know each legends require another layer
what about blanks, do they usually cost less?
so are switches....
they dye legends on top of them
This video shows the main steps of making a new keycap. Enjoy!
Visit us at https://keymacs.com
this is ONE keycap
there are more parts in switches than keycaps
well it is manufacturing issue
material is worth less
theres also one offs like novelites
but still not able to find white on black keyboard
there are so many colorful ones why not black ones
manufacturing for durability increases cost
also i feel like manufacturing increases value in general, of course the raw is worth less?
otherwise they'd be selling at a loss?
salvation is just a glorified tray mount
Yes
huh
why would you pay 300eur for barebone
when keychron sells prebuilt for less than 100eur
Bragging rights
Rights brag about how financially incompetent they are lol
has anybody tried the nuphy halo75 specifically on mac? does it have big issues or limitations?
i got a question which gaming keyboard that is silent and with cool RGB lights on it not ever like $120 i want it to be under the price of $120
my roommate has the air75 and has no issues with mac or windows
i am just gonna return gat milky yellow switches now and get some other ones
I don't have a power bank that small. They're all either 10K or 20K
idk if there are any other linear switches around 50g
Wonder if someone can help me here. Anyone know how to get the RGB on a ducky one 3 tkl solid white?
I went on vacation and someone messed with my keyboard
Clearly you dont understand hobbies
we already told you it was binding
people keep telling me it is impossible for those switches to have binding
but i did say switches were rubbing
no we did not
doesnt have to be the materials problem
idk this is what they told me
can also be a bad molding tolerance
so this is a malfunctioned switch right
kind of ig
i guess best thing would be is to return them
how do you know if new switches will be binding
I do it’s literally just the board and case dosent even lok. worth the price tag it’s set for its a barebones for the price of a full mid board
you do know that custom machining parts costs money right? Including the cost of the prototypes and renders, etc. Then custom making the FR4 plates, leaf springs, checking anno quality, checking tolerances... Gotta cover costs somehow.
these aren't mass produced boards like GMMK and Keychron where they get made out of plastic and metal stamps
idk, logic and reasoning
and its also a common issue with the symptoms you provided
how can you use logic when you order switches you have never held
i guess at this point any switches can keep binding since i tried keychron gmk amazon keycaps and they were all binding
@sleek sable got the new keyboard in honestly dont hate the switches in it but now i relize how much i hate the switches in my razer keyboard lol and then i did a thing bc im hooked now
Good layout
gmmk keyboards have awful shit switch plate tolerances
returned one basically the same day after putting kailh box navy into it
if i put a switch and a keycap into the plate and then pulled the keycap off of an adjacent switch BOTH switches would fly out of the plate
just hop straight out of it
some switches were looser than others in the plate
then i put them into an old budget gaming keyboard switchplate which wasnt even hotswap just a board i desoldered and they fit in the plate consistently
would avoid that brand like the plague
their RGB and macro software for the gmmk 100% looked exactly identical to the UI in redragon firmware
same exact color picker
yet the keyboard cost like 80 or 90 dollars
using the same junk as a 30-40 dollar board
plus they lied about the keyboard having "1000hz" polling rate and setting it to "1000" in the firmware actually slowed down the inputs when testing with keyboard inspector
Anyone recommend a good 65% keyboard that is 60$ or under? Thank you
I got like a 100 dollar budget and I want it to thock
Wait no more like 150
What’s so funny
Well can u help me build
What do u need help with dawg
so i got 150 dollars and i would like to build a keyboard that has a deeper sound
any reccomendations
i probably want to do a diy kit
Yup. That's why they are cheaper
usually i hate products like these but this is pretty badass
People who say stuff like "oh that board is overpriced" don't know what they are paying for
I saw chiclets and I immediately dismissed it but maglev switches sound pretty cool actually
but just because it sounds cool doesn't mean i can justify $450 for a keeb
I'm still on the fence about spending $250 on a rog flare animate II
anything using hall effect automatically beats all shit mx switches with the chattering and input latency
would be worth spending 300 on that over 400+ on a gmk keycap set + aluminium case + switches that fail after months of use
Mx switches goated
i can justify 450 for this
:3c
should be more options on the market than just mx style switches that have to have severe long software debounce
I can justify it because it's a hobby and I like cool stuff
The use of hall effect is wasted on this
The travel is so little they might as well have use a membrane
then it would be ugly
the whole point of that keyboard is to have a transparent nice looking screen
that would not type very well
Fr
not saying the keycaps themselves are 400+ saying a build involving them would probably be
the case+pcb+switches included in that
Same goes for Hall effect in this application
For some people gmk is a ton but for others it’s not too much
Gmk is just a waste of money lol
the point is that they are overpriced for what they are
Only reason to buy is because some colorways are only run on gmk
you are paying for plastic keycaps that have a unique color and "clear" legends
when they have just as bad warping and tolerances as some china PBT sets
That is a opinion
I still buy gmk extras when they are on sale
Producing stuff in Germany isn’t cheap I think that’s a big part of it
They don’t got cheap labor in china and such
Germany used to have cheap labor in the 40s but we don't talk about that
Sure but that doesn’t justify 120$+ base kits
GMK is the definition of overhyped expensive waste of money
mcdonalds toy plastic
users fault for opening up the keycap set and seeing that immediately
then being told to "use a hairdryer or heatgun"
german superior craftsmanship at its finest
They should make a model M with RGB i think it'll be funny
idk why people like ABS keycaps when they get shiny after like a few weeks of use to a few months
I wouldn’t say that is very common
Good abs doesn’t shine that quickly
I’ve been using mine for quite a while still no shine
when there are PBT keycaps on old IBM keyboards that are 40 years old and have no visible shine
and no legend wear
looks like some child used it with cheeto hands
abs is abs lol
sweaty grease
it makes it look and feel like a cheap membrane keyboard you buy for 5 dollars
I like the look of shine on some sets
I’ve seen people purposely shine gmk sets before
its one thing if they wear evenly but its not usually the case
the most used keys are super shiny
shiny keys adds character
or someone from this discord sweating up a storm typing an essay on why GMK is the savior of keyboards
the least used are matte
and that makes it a good thing?
shits cringe as fuck
I never said that
it's how you know the keyboard was loved
I said shine does not equal bad
you implied that
if it doesn't equal bad then what is it?
It’s preference
ah I see this is one of those channels where only your opinion matters
oh yeah bring up the preference argument kek
whether my caps are shiny or matte they work the same
just because you think it's ugly or cheap looking doesn't really directly have anything to do with you does it
really like when an ABS spacebar gets a nice shiny smear across it where my thumb rests
"adds character"
it sure does
it's not the same. One is wear and tear one is abuse
I’m sure people agree with you that they like shine
people unloading 100s on keycaps that looks like a public library keyboar
prebuilts are fine for people who want a locked cpu and motherboard that run below stock performance with a stock cooler
worn out and greasy from all the sweaty dirty hands
ah yes all the dozens of people using my keyboard
get your head out of your ass
no smart one the point is it looks like greasy worn out shit
doesnt matter who uses it
will shine after enough use and look cheap
that is subjective thinking
yes looks like someone with cheeto hands used it
or one of your guys' keyboards right now
sweating out a storm defending it
I'm not defending jack shit i'm simply saying that your subjective opinion on what looks bad is not objective
what it objectively shows is that the keycaps are made out of a less durable material
softer plastic that wears away faster
ABS is not a less durable material
"its a feature" to have your keycaps look look like cheap trash
its like the desginer clothes that make you look homeless
reverse IQ demographic buying it
all keycaps will shine enough time given
^ this
don't see what the problem is
might awsell steal a keyboard from the library and use that and save yourself $400
if you really want raggedy used hardware
pcb probably the same as in your custom keyboard too
high latency
shine is whatever honestly, if you don't want to use your keyboard then don't lmao
also, fun fact, ABS shine actually occurs from both friction and UV light
Shine shows a loved keyboard
probably an upgrade
warped brain like a GMK spacebar
classic keyboard drooling babies resorting to ad hominem when they are losing an argument
Are you really salty about what parts other people use on their keyboards?
hive mind waking up
Way to sound poor.
Self reflection, I love it
Why are you so mad over the fact that some people like shine on keycaps?
All I was saying is that you shouldn't judge people for what condition their caps are in jesus
It’s someone’s personal opinion on a small part of this huge huge world
Because he's mad that he can't buy nicer keyboards lol
I did not think you people would actually get so buttmad
Must be coping to justify spending so much on a bloody keyboard
you can just leave and not talk in here
the cope of your jealousy is real
apparently "nicer keyboards" means a custom with gmk keycaps that has 30ms of input latency and 6kro
If you’re going to use a keyboard for yourself, who cares, if you like how it looks that’s all that matters
Seethe harder keebrain
keyboard children need to justify their $300 paperweight that has worse specs than a typerwiter
I use voice commands so like none of this applies
need daily circle jerk off with keycaps and whatever else they overpaid for
Should I just report you for harrassment?
for some validation that it is indeed worth it
i have come to announce that i like the k552
I mean people spend thousands of dollars to display pixels on a screen faster
call the mods hes harassing me
harrassment? how is he harrassing you?
ah you're one of those pieces of shit who false report for losing arguments
i like my apex 7 with default key hats
You're literally ripping on people for their love of keyboards
maybe I SHOULD ping a mod
no i'm ripping people who think they're superior for havbing better keyboards
if you hate them so much go splooge on your dell one
No one here thinks anything about superiority
if you do think that, you're projecting your inferiority about whatever
i mean i got a corsair k70tkl i think
its pretty cool
@patent belfry what should I use to shine gmk
pls guys be nice to crisperz btw I hear the steelseries apex keyboards have clearance problems with thick keycaps n stuff cuz of how the leds are laid out what key hats are there that'll be skinny enough around the edges to work with that
they keeb community welcomes all keebs, cheap or expensive. If you wanna have a crappy attitude, just do yourself a favor and leave
the keeb community?
Yes
Keebnerds
spore civilization stage purple guys
this is a joke dont kill me
if you don’t like shine then use pbt
it’ll shine in enough time anyways, just a when
If you don't like shine don't use your keyboard.
maybe you'll be doing us a favor if you stopped typing
I’m not bothered about shine, it’ll happen eventually to everything I use
Idc if it’s shiny, I just use it to type and sound good
whats shine
I’m using my keyboard just as much as my computer so shine in inevitable
it’s shine on keycaps
Skin oil happens
usually the result of yknow, using your keyboard.
I think it’s cause the texture of the keycap like gets worn down
no I dont get that
So it’s smooth
Do you have dry hands
im italian
responds to a message 20 mins ago
yeah it differs from person to person, people just like to blow it out of proportion because it looks “worse” I guess lol
You sweat olive oil?
clearly still butthurt
I sweat olive oil.
I don’t have fingers
stop typing! You’ll shine your caps!
Cant relate
the only thing shining here is your stupidity
i dunno who's arguing with who anymore
people blowing the result of usage out of proportion because they don’t like how it looks, which is preference.
"iTs preference" as their OS starts beeping from hitting the key rollover limit, their messages have double typed letters every few words, and the latency is so bad that the letters lag behind their fingers as they type on their just finished custom
none of those issues exist
^
none of those issues happening now… maybe I’m not using a shit board.. 💭
i game on the regular on a space65r3 keyboard and zero issues at all
Ngl I forgot there was a keyboard channel xD
maybe it could happen 20ish years ago when the community was still basic but still unlikely
like ffs just leave
typing on a d84, enjoying it 😊
wut bro
Oh shit I gotta stop typing on my mobile device, the glass might start to shine
Bye guys
your OS beeps when u hit the key rollover limit? also the OS has a key rollover limit?

What's a key rollover limit? OwO
so sometimes if you hit a lotta buttons at the same or almost the same time on a keyboard, it wont register some of them, most new keyboards have a high enough one to make it so that u can hit every button and have it register all of them fine
theres probably some science behind how the keys register, but thats my interpretation i guess
did i miss the party
Yes
I see makes sense
dang i even made popcorn
i was just scrolling through one of the tech chat and saw some guy be like screw this im headed to #peripherals imma see how the mods handle me

wait no it was #build-a-pc
Shit went down
Yep, I’m not going to start another argument by restating what happened

yeah just let people invest in their own interests

I’m going to sleep too
lol literally my keyboard
i have gmk keycaps that are worn down like those pictures
Keyboards
Any recommendations for white or beige backlit keycaps?
Is there any good option for around 53 to max 65 €? (not american market) I might have slightly better budget next month, but wanted to already look for some.
What I am interested in is quiet 100% keyboard or TKL/80% with multimedia (?) keys, like volume control etc. (I got some recommendations from friends, but those keyboards didn't have media controls even with function keys). Back light/rgb, macros etc. is not needed
if you have a bugger budget next month wait for next month
no shame in saving up for proper board that fits you
I mean there is literally no shop that sells good kbs near me, so I want to collect opinions already. I am person that overthinks a lot
i have ordered keychron k pro red switches and keychron official cherry keycaps
now this will have to be compatible
after all the dumb designs i made, i still think the best for me is the 4x10
no split no frills
i dont understand how people use those lol
with fingers
how come every time i go to this channel its moonshine related
Quick question: I'd like to get myself a Keychron K7 Pro for carrying around in my backpack, but I absolutely hate the look of the keycaps. The K7 ones look much better imo. If I were to get a K7 Pro and a set of K7 keycaps, would that work?
The Keycap sizes are the same, and both use the same switches, the only thing that could mess me up are the stabilizers
Meh, that setup is overrated. The Corne is like beginner level ergonomics.
And this sitting posture is so bad for your back, it kinda makes it weird why you'd want an ergonomic keyboard
Sick artisans
is there a moust that has features that the mx master 3 has but also has wireless charging like the razer viper ultimate and weighs under 90 grams
A mouse?
Well I don’t know shit about mouses
I don’t think so
My keyboard came in today!, first time using a mechanical keyboard
Yes! It's very clicky tho it has the outemu blue's
Do you have any modding suggestions?
Damn seeing thattt makes me wanna throw out my keychron
South facing leds are so useless
Put akko switches in there
cherry profile keycaps?
north facing has cherry interferenece
foam is pretty simple to do
No
South facing leds
Are just bad
If you have south facing leds you might as well just have saved the 10 bucks and not had any led
Some north facing has interference with some cherry profile keycaps
it's not all of them
Even if it was a problem. Just don't use that specific profile lmao
Same
I hate cherry profile
Ppl be like north facing blocks cherry and don't use cherry caps lmao
I also don't care much about north or south facing anyway
I don't use rgb
And as far as I know there's no advantage to south facing switches vs north facing switches if you don't care about cherry profile or rgb
Like one won't feel better than the other, one won't be more stable as the other and such
Are REDRAGON keyboards even worth looking at?
cherry profile is great
I think it's one of the worst profile I've ever tried ... but to each their own I guess
i think its more comfortable than the other ones ive tried
and i like that the keycaps are not very tall
I find dsa and xda way more comfortable
those are great too, i like that cherry has sculpting
Finally got my board mostly done, still waiting on my lube and new stabs but
looks good, what switches did you use?
Banana splits
Will be lubed and filmed once that stuff comes in, but I just wanted to try this thing stock before I get those in on Monday
nice
its my first gasket mount board and im super happy with how it feels, absolutely love it
can someone help me out? the windows key on my tes68 randomly stopped working, and doesn't work even after I swapped switches
either you have winlock on or the pcbs fucked
not surprising a tes68 breaks
disregarding a huge chunk of keycaps out there because of a feature a majority of people don't care for in customs is wild
nice!!
q2?
glad you like it
didnt think it would be as nice as it is
sad you couldn't settle for the tofu though
yeah, just couldnt wait till may, cant wait for my new stabs to come in though, the stock ones are giving me problems with my gmk caps
yeah, well, higround x ttc white flames until monday, but the banana splits are in the package with my stabs
i just wanted to try this thing out stock before i take it all apart and mod it
its really good stock to be honest
i might just do tape and a slightly thicker case foam
yeah stock boards have come quite a bit since stuff like pok3r lol
vortex still does nice stuff though!
i was considering picking up their ssk model f board
i let my mom try this board and she really likes it so i think im gonna build her a Q6
right on, keychron has the more obscure layouts locked down
yeah she just likes a full size
Just buy an actual ssk though
Instead buy another mx keyboard that looks like an ssk
also buckling spring really isn't for me

loud and earthquakey
?
it's fiiiine
the blue one looks really nice, i wonder if i should pick one up after some other stuff
It’s your money ig
does anybody here have a keychron q10 alice
buckling spring feels nice and doesnt have any bullshit issues like chattering but all the keyboards with those switches have a really bulky case and/or weird key layout
only issue with model M is the 2kro which model f fixes but model f cost way more an only works with an active con+
converter
i would use the model f i have way more if the outer border of the case wasnt 1 inch all the way around
kept slamming my thumb into the side when using my mouse on any fps game
they have like 20ms of latency but that is still on par with slow customs and keychron latencies
those still use an active converter i think
they arent native usb or ps2
not sure why when you go through all that effort to make "new" ones
model F also has less spring weight than the model Ms
the newer ones atleast
i found a model M at a garage sale for free that was covered in decades of dust and slime
have multiple of them around
feels really nice to type on but and OK for some games but only if you have an actual ps2 port
if you have to go through a shitty usb converter it becomes unusable
randomly turns off/caps lock issues/really slow input for games at that point if you use a cheap one atleast
Why is it upside down
Anyways it has lubed optical blues, but cus it's optical I took out the clicky stuff so now it's linear
And sounds nice
ooh ferris looks cool
Ferris sweep is nice
yeah model f or something started standardizing full size and then it went from there
there's someone selling i think a sweep for 15 plus shipping
as for chatter, literally never ran into that
i don't need it but it's so cute
cute
it's choc brown hmm
cute!
anything lower than 60 isn’t my thing but stuff like this just looks nice
also skeleton cases rock
i just standoff my pcb to another one and don't notice stiffness
i should make one with a plate and some kinda cheap case at some point
I've only tried skeleton cases though
can I talk about mice here?
also can someone suggest a cheap mech. keyboard on amazon.in for laptop gaming?
how cheap?
they sound nicer than they should
I’ve tried a couple of ck’s ones
i wonder if it's cheaper to get fr4 skeleton case through jlcpcb or something else like
ponoko
like 5k inr , or like under 50 usd idk
Whichever you think best fits in the palm of your hands
402 is considerably bigger than the 102
the weight is also different, 402 weighs 102 grams, 102 weighs 85 grams
Building your own?
What’s your budget
What kind of designs are you looking for, color? As well as switch preference
Keychron v3 I think that one is tkl
K8 is tkl wireless
v3 I believe is wired
woah woah that wasn't my suggestion :p
My suggestion would be to look at some Leopold or Varmillo boards and see which one grabs your eyes
You can browse through them at mechanicalkeyboards.com
and I am not an associate of that website
I'm sure there's plenty more sites where you can browse keyboards
K8 is not a bad option, however
which one do you like the most
If I had to pick between the two, I would probably get the 2he because it's a full size keyboard and I frequently use the numpad
and that is probably not the answer you were looking for--everyone has their own needs preferences
both seem to be well reviewed so I don't think you can go wrong buying either
kebord pic
Is the “SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless” any good? I want a wireless mechanical gaming keyboard (Preferably with changeable Keycaps)
i think there are better options
Suggestions please?
keychron Q3
keychron especially their wireless models have insanely high input lag for gaming
not sure how it can be botched so bad to have 30ms of latency
no contest buy the wooting unless all you care about is sounds and aesthetics instead of actual functionality
That isn’t wireless though?
it's worth ditching the wireless for that keyboard
if you want to play game on a wireless keyboard get one with a 2,4 gHz dongle and not bluetooth ...
That’s the plan
So the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless is about the best I can find that has good ratings and changeable Keycaps. Problem with the Logitech G915 is that it sounds like it has bad caps and you can’t change their proprietary key caps…
It’s q series, there is no wireless????
You’re saying keychron wireless is bad when they recommended a board that doesn’t use wireless
I agree, no company makes perfect boards, but the boards I recommend the most are the v and maybe q series though there are better options in my opinion than the q series.
Also, I’ve met plenty of people who have gotten keychron boards with no problem at all, I feel like this is cherry picking
The person you're replying to can't have anyone even say "Keychron" without losing their shit and going on the same tirade over and over again about polling rates and people paying too much for their custom keyboards, which apparently doesn't change the fact that they've spent more money on shitty 'gamer' boards that they also complain about than you would by just buying a halfway decent one, adding what switches you like, and calling it.
Discussing keyboards with them will never get you anywhere because they will just troll with bad faith arguments about everything. Learn from my mistakes and don't listen, don't waste your energy.
Is the rk84 worth it? One of the cheapest white boards i've seen local, and seems to be pretty decent quality wise
Bluetooth delay is a thing for ALL bluetooth devices on windows
Because bluetooth just sucks on windows
Its not a keychron exclusive issue
The second person is kind of an idiot for trying to game on bluetooth anyway, if you want wireless gaming, use a dongle
I have a Keychron K2v2 its a great keyboard i really recommend it
But i dont use it anymore since i have a custom kb now
I dont get using wireless keyboards just use wired since it aint runnin away anytime soon
All mechanical keyboards have switchable keycaps

I think they might mean switches? Because I feel like it’s common knowledge the key caps are swappable ?
Idk really
If they want hotswap keychron isnt that great of an option since most of their keyboards have soldered switches
Never mind they are defo talking keycaps
They were complaining about propietary key caps before hand
I’m defo just dumb and didn’t read it all
Never heard of proprietary keycaps on mechanical keyboards
