Make sure you implement some kind of pressure fit keycap if you want to use those
They’re pretty bad without one
Yes
I haven’t used anything else since I quit a few years ago
why’d you quit
It’s just stock with lube on the stabs
we’ already had this conversation nvm
Id rather not say
do it

mx you know any cool housings for fc660c
what if i glue a penny on it
Nope
crying
It wouldn’t last very long
you trynna pick up the kfe ce we saw earlier
and hold it for me
for like a year
I love the pc stuff
To say the least
pc and colorful orings are so damn nice
im trying not to drop 1k on my own shii rn
It was three fiddy
The pc distracts you from how bland it looks
yeah lmao
any add ons?
I think a hs pcb
for what
if i like the top mount on the high65 enough im holding out for a derivative
if i figure out im not huge on top mount then im gettting a plum arc
only thing I care about the high65 is the layout tbh
everything else looks boring asf
lowk i fw the pc weight with underglow but im never gonna see it
it'll be a good reference point board
pc weight?
yk i was considering grabbing a bake and using that as a tester and reference board
link me the gh yeah
I mean
It’s the same layout
oh these are the same people who made the Hi-Finger boards
this should be interesting
im a sucker for pc and underglow
iirc it comes with both weights?
i might just end up using brass tho
sunset 80 was plateless right
idk why zizz hypes up sunset80
i dont remeber it sounding all that nice
it was mid as fuck
i do want a plateless board someday
the one with gems on the case?
or what looks like gems
that was so fucking tacky man
gems?!
hold on
those look like those tacky cheap ahh gems you can buy and glue on to things
that’s what I’m saying
who’s this designed by
[GB] HEX.50FE Plateless F13 WKL TKL - PRE-ORDER LIVE
its from hex
I know someone who was doing aomething verrrrry similar
weird
almost uncanny how similar they look for the side and front profile
he was in with hate
I could probably ask him about it but idrc anymore
I’m still eyeing type-k
I hope aftermarket doesn’t bite me in the ass
similar mount and stuff too?
lowk cf blackplate 😩
icic
you must really like duck huh
i feel like that much run late enough that you have money by that point
gok taking it slowwww
well worth it though
was it type k before 7v r2?
7v probably the best looking 75% on the gosh
7v and whale 75 make me wish i was a 75 person
Whale 75 was boring for me
damn
whale side is still one of my favorite things
love the black one
i would die for a whale tkl
wait wtf
i thought aftermarket was crazy on them,
for Lin whale?
so fucking tempting
honestly im not gonna pick it up rn
why is everything i want buyable so quickly
or let me try it you feel me
ship me your tiger Lowkey
I haven’t built one and Lowkey curious
Bleach made it look so fun to play with Lowkey
bleach went from praising the tiger to cussing it out to praising it
the flex is so much it’s not even funny
push too hard on it and the switches’ll come flying out
LMAOOO FR
and now he’s already sold it
im only concerned abt breaking it sometimes
had a tiger for like fucking 2 days lmao
its so weird
i've seen him go this is one of my favorrite typing experiences i have ever tried
he waited a week or something to get it delivered and sold it as soon as he got it
to sold within weeks
And then list it on mm lmao
adult money shit
it wasn’t even weeks it was like 3 days
yea
even less
he literally told us it arrived and then built it the next day and now it’s gone by the 3rd
he took the time to build it with vint blacks
he’s got big plans, maybe he’s buying a Jane.
doubt
maybe one day
but not now
kpop tkls frist
he also had a bias coming in
and the one offs
oh yeah he asked me to keep track of nayeon
totally forgot lmaooo thanks for reminding me
not surprising tbh
He’s had a frog before
Sold it too, not too shabby.
mans said half plate frog was one of hte nicest typing experiences out of everything he owned
top 2
monokei
buncha geon stuff
matrix was kinda boring Lowkey
kfe
aesthetically
@flint ivy when are you getting crp (pbt is better..!!)
im sure he had crp stuff at some point
oh yeah bleach don’t you like xmi
I must’ve mixed him up with someone else
cause someone else I knew hated pbt
yea he looks xmi iirc
yeah he had the uhh
how good is nk pbt
rainbow hangul and red hangul goes hard as fuck
I’m Lowkey so damn mad I’m not hopping on that xmi color config I showed you that one time
it’s solid
cant you still make it
idk if I would buy it if it on sale though lma
yeah taro nice
the yellow accents are tacky as hell though
So are the blue ones
honestly no accent keys is the way to go with taro
no shur up
there are some fucking fire novs
got my dollar store camera: on
reading
itll bring the end of days
so damn true
it also has sideways teeth if the pro micro is the mouth
i wonder if i could pull a gamecube and make it so you can have addons with the extra pins
still a bit iffy about that dpad stagger

wdym with "pull a gamecube"
you mean because you could plug a modem and a gameboy attachment?
ye that typa stuff
DD time

I had desko
It’s cool enough
If I buy more sets it’s going to be dcs or dcs tho
Got my eye on dcs alchemy, sleeper and if possible a set of red alert or something
And sol dark
Rizma my beloved
quick placement edit, but not sure if this looks more comfortable than the one before
turns out i was using too big a pcb
now nothing fits lol
dcs or dcs
twice “yes or yes” reference
Astro got sent 2 free Cyrillic kits or some goofy shit on his red alert order
hey gas should i do hotswap for a measly 8 switches, since im not folding it anymore i figured id have the extra z to socket some stuff
choc v1v2
idk if they have v1v2 sockets, but they have v1v2 footprints
it might just be afootprint that takes a v1 socket or a v2 socket
yeah why not
it would be a neat little thing
might have to design one without a footprint for pads though if for some reason it doesn’t work out
the min order on jlcpcb is 3 anyways right
5 per i think
where did you order the last one
gdi choc spacing
i mean if i already planned to get the sockets
wdym
idk I’ve read it like 4 times and it isn’t clicking
if i was gonna get sockets for another keyboard, its not that bad to slap em in
oh
does wherever you’re ordering from allow for some to be without pads and others with
would kinda suck to be stuck with one option
i could overlay the hotswap and not hotswap footprints
and link em up
but id rather just have hotswap because im lazy designing
mariaaaaa
milky yellow
sunset choc
you're stealing my thing
lol
do a flip
sunset chocs on the back?
hmm
the switches are in 3/4 different orientations, but it fits
wait no theres clipping in the downhat on left side
Owie
just gotta sort out the rats nest now
this might be the least hostile chat in this server
the 100 artisan is so damn fire
maybe
milky yellow
I don’t find this joke funny anymore
i very much do
Most
you lie
i disagree
totally forgot to include expansion pak socket, and now it wont fit anywhere :/
are you designing your own pcb
one was produced so far
thinking about getting all the pcbs at once so i can save on shipping
crazy shit
then have projects for whenever im bored

No one uses those
arent they usually ripped apart to make ergo clears?
No
you’re thinking of mx clears
ah
Long shot, mouse related, anyone got the white sospacer grip (Newgate)? Looking for some detailed photo of that thing. Their product page only has one terrible photo.
Literally just a piece of rubber you stick on your mouse lol
Yep if I have that I'm getting out of plat and going pro next month /s
I hope you’re ready
Bubble wrap ain’t as dense as you are buddy

Anyways would u recommend it?

Da knob
Hello guys, I have hard time deciding which keyboard I should buy. Im torn between a budget cherry keyboard and a worse brand with outemu switches. The cheaper brand one looks better and has wireless connection but on the other side cherry brand is known for it's quality iirc.
Is outemu switches that much different than cherry's ?
Actually I've bought a budget keyboard with red outemu switches which i'm not fan of, and I want to switch to brown ones.
milky yellow
Some say they are better than cherry
Some say they are worst than cherry
outemu makes so much switches it’s hard to answer this question
But basic prebuilt outemu switches aren’t very good, neither are rgb cherry switches.
Send both keyboards here and I’ll let you know the better buy
Neither of those ... lol
Redragon zed k627p and cherry g80-3000s rgb
Not the best but i don't have lots of options at this price point
where are you from?
if you’re in the US I would honestly suggest this over anything else in the price range
If you’re not you can take a look at keychron and their V series, they should have something for you which would probably be a better buy than either of these two you listed
finally know someone irl whos into keyboards
can you two make matching keycap necklaces
probably not
yeah
that’s so rad
Im from Eastern Europe
keychron is probably your best bet
keychron.de has a site for europe, since it ships out from keychron's warehouse in germany it'll be easier and faster (and hopefully cheaper) to buy any of the keychron v series boards
The cheapest keychron i can get is c1 here
And its still a bit above my budget
Like 20-30$ more expensive
Is gateron browns that much better?
Not necessarily, it’s not really about the switches. It’s more about the overall build quality, material, production cost etc
In majority of “mainstream” consumer keyboards the switch types are pretty standardised and mostly a matter of personal preference
What is your budget anyway? And what do you have right now? What do you normally do? Does noise matter?
have this one one the way with gateron pro 2.0 black

my first real mechanical keyboard, have had corsair mechanical so far
Can i use cardboard for sound dampener?
yes
cause no one prevent you from stuffing stuff into your keyboard
whether or not its effective at your purposes, idk
I have a trust gxt 834 callaz with red switches. I'd want my kb to be a bit more clicky and responsive but not too loud thats why I think I need brown switches
I could extend my budget a bit to the price of the keychron but it doesn't look as good imo and it lacks wireless connectivity
No, instead you should use sheets of a4 paper
Or better yet use cement
Okay how many paper i put?
As many as you can
Should i put tape on it
where
sure
What kind of tape btw
masking tape
Oh i just research putting tape makes it louder right?
That right, instead you should slather cement over it
just enough to fill the board
Okay how about double sided tape?
way worse
How about duct tape now?
electrical tape usually isnt that sticky, masking tape is ofc better for the purpose
but I can see how electrical tape would give a lower sound profile than masking tape
wireless will probably either make it more expensive or be a bigger compromise on quality
Keychron has some wireless alternatives too that aren't too expensive (€60-80 range iirc)
after getting used to more quality keyboards, pretty much everything mainstream feels so extremely cheap and bad in comparison
I used Ducky One2 Mini for the longest time, also have a One2 TKL. They feel so insanely cheap. Sound like crap too.
This is not the case with the Keychron K6 keyboard I have, and certainly not the case with my Keychron Q3 keyboards
hur dur metal means quality
Keychron K6 is plastic
nobody ever said metal means quality lol
My current cheap keyboard is metal and it feels bad
The only keychron that is close to my budget from local stores is c1 tkl
yeah, and even this topic is personal preference, what I consider "cheap feeling plastic", might be what others prefer
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k6-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=31441088315481
It's discounted here apparently. You could consider ordering from their site directly. I thought I was gonna get charged customs fee when I did, but I didn't. Though that might differ for you - I live in Norway if that helps
Keychron K6 Compact Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. 65% Layout. Wireless or Wired. Users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Optical or Gateron Switches. Connect up to 3 devices. 15+ RGB Backlight
I don't think that delievery to my country would be free, but thanks for the help
delivery won't be free, but if you're talking about customs, only one way to know for sure (I understand that's not something you can necessary just take a chance on though :P)
why do you need a new keyboard though? perhaps that's a better place to start
Board
I built my entire setup from scratch bcs i was using a laptop before, so when i was deciding which pc components to buy didn't do enough research about keyboards and their differences and now im stuck with a kb that I don't really like. I want to replace it because it kinda feels cheap, stabilisers aren't stable at all and I realised that i want some tactile feedback.
I would probably recommend saving up a bit then, stretching your budget a little more
I want it to match my other pheripherals (which are white), to have rgb, and i kinda miss having a numpad although i don't want a full sized kb
milky yellow
Ill keep it short, I want a OK or better mechanical keyboard between 70% and TKL sized with a budget of £75. Any suggestions?
ideally wired.
who made this mf is not even lined up properly
Prob talking about the arrows
Any experiences with the keychron k5 se brown?
its a keyboard
You're really helpful thanks.
youre welcome
alright tough rye
What is wrong with you?
he’s going through a tough ryme
whaddya wanna know about it
It’s a low profile board made by keychron
and before you ask
it’s good for gaming
Just wanted to know if its good for the price, or any other keyboards I should consider
Primarily used for typing and as you said, some gaming
Yeah it’ll do both those rhings
it’s alright, low profile isn’t for everyone though
I'm currently using a Logitech MX Keys but want to get some better switches but don't like most of the mechanical keyboards I tried (all of them were cheap ones so there is that). Would be great to try it before I buy it but none of my local shops sell it...
Also thought about the logitech mx mechanical but think (based on nothing but some amazon reviews) the keychron would be a better investment
well keychron out of stock so im prob just gunna get a razer keyboard
if it’s all you want out of a keyboard, why not.
Better investment how?
mainly the removable keys
Ah I see
if you want something worth a better “investment” then I guess so with a mechanical which uses standard mx
because even though the ones in the mx are removable, you can’t really use any other keys aside from keychron’s own.
gastrail doesnt know anything about keyboards dont listen
I know about as much about keyboards as Michael knows about audio
actually idk how much Michael knows about audio
Michael doesn’t know shit about audio
rip
@warped tinsel do you actually want keyboard recs or purchase validation
Im fine with huntsman since one i wanted is out of stock
which one did you want
I dont need a enthusiast board
ok
i wanted keychrone q6
what’d you like about it
since u could switch out switches
Ah
Buy it from Taobao and get a proxy to ship it over
Keychrons are cheap as shit in china
how cheap
90 for a barebones q3

And that’s brand new directly from them
I didn’t ask if you would buy one though
general statement
Point is they’re cheap if you buy from china
A friend is doing a China haul pretty soon
Might have to pick up og double shots from them
Are they worth a lot now or something?
Damn they used to be like 15 on ebay
30-50$ depending on condition
or well how much work you have to put into them
and gmk classic beige is like 200$ so
?
do you take me for a flipper or something
No I was just wondering why you would want og doubleshots
Fair
https://www.duckychannel.com.tw/en/One3-RGB-White is this good
its a keyboard
is it a good one
My very old corsair keyboard broke so I decided to get this weird retro hipster keyboard
swag
damn
it types so yes i think
Hey. I have a question that sounds interesting to do but I don't want to fry anything in trying it
If I plugged in a Jack to Jack wire from my Monitors Headphone slot to my Motherboards Microphone port, would I be able to route my monitors audio to the PC and have it pick up?
not a keyboard question, respectfully ignored
short answer, yes
long answer, the sound can be interrupted very easily without good isolation
I'll ask in that room if you wanna elaborate - I don't want to clutter this up with non-keyboard stuff
respectfully, so nice
what a nice rye
one 3 is good. definitely a big improvement over the one 2 which left a lot to be desired
eat moree ice
if you like the design, then by all means. but never hurts to check other companies
varmilo has a lot of keyboards that look nice
Why would you ever do that
@boreal rivet I want to put my Nintendo Switches audio in my PC so that I could route it to my headphones using Carla and talk with my friends at the same time. Basically letting me hear the game and them with the same headphones
💀
mixers exist for that purpose
Can you elaborate?
you can take multiple audio inputs and make it one audio output
Oh, I found a fix xD. In OBS, I go into my capture cards Advanced Audio Settings and just set the Audio Monitoring to On (specifically in this case "Monitor Only (Mute Output)", and it makes it audible on the PC. That is so nice
AJAZZ ak510
it has backlit
it was like $80
I was gonna get an old tandy keyboard but I wanted the windows key
it has very loud keys
gonna try it out for a bit
it also comes with some orange keycaps and a plastic dust cover
it is very loud tho which is kinda lame
very cool tho
also very heavy which is nice
i think it uses cherry brown copies
hold on ill record it
mic was like a foot away from the keyboard
stabilizer moment
What can i do now
All with stabilizers are like that nos
show stabilizer without the cap
this board doesnt support screw ins
I am new to this
What can i do with this keycap
Is it gonna like like this
Or is something else
Do i use it like this
Or what
What do i do now
Guys
nothing to do with the keycap
your stabilizer is not supported
buy plate mounts
keycaps didnt give in anymore?
This is plate mount for refernce
yea the stabs work with the stock keycaps right?
They work yes but are also bit tall
its just tight
Enter does not pull stabilizers but shift pulls stabilizers
so the enter key is stuck?
the keycaps are not fully in i think
Shift and backspace pull tgem but enter does not even fit
I am only able to fit enter on one side
Do i push it harder
one thing before you try pushing the keycap even harder
you have your phone right?
lay the enter key on the screen, see if its flat against it
or its curling up
yea i feel like its just the case of the stems on the keycaps being tighter than the specification allows
Yes enter is way thinner
or the spacing of the keycap stems is off
I bought basic cherry profile
how much did you pay for the whole thing?
cause everybody can make cherry profile caps
the problem is are they making good ones or crap that dont even fit
like cheap oem caps that i paid 10 bucks for a full size set is warped as fuck
its on the pcb not the plate
I bought them on amazon idk 50eur or 60eur
yes
and thats where you screw in stabs will be
I have no idea even stock ones are hard to fit on stablizers
after installation
and the v3 uses screw in stabs
see?
this is the thing that the v3 uses
but you can push it down fully right?
Shift and backspace yes they are tall but work with stabilizers but enter and shift on right side are thinner and do not even fit on stabilizers they keep falling off
And i pushed as hard as other keycapd
hmm
might need some closer look at the stabilizer
kinda suck cause its screwed to the pcb but its not gonna rattle as much as most plate mount
that means the keycaps is not in
you should not be able to see the stem of the stabs once your caps is fully seated
Yes it is not tall enough
How tall does keychron one has to be
Works
I pushed really hard haha
@boreal rivet
I don't think you actually understand how custom stuff works
go check the audio channel
Apparently they don't realize that you can actually just pay people to make things for you
dude thinks you can just commission any well known designer for a one off as long as you pay lol
well
Yes
With enough money you can in fact have almost anything made for you
depends on how much you pay
You could almost certainly have something fairly custom for 1300
fairly lol
with 1300 you can order a single custom case
1300 is like the total value too
you can for some designers
not even including labour
cncing oneoffs is stupid expensive
they’ll do the manufacturing and shit for you
Yes
depends if you know where to get it made
why would you pay that much for a very mid board
It’s not acrylic stack though
most of the value is in CNC keycaps
it is
looks good ... gg
I mean, machined aluminum keycaps is definitely more custom than whatever pbt gb
They likely aren’t custom
It’s probably like the aluminium mizu caps
Sure, they're definitely more unique than what most people have though
They’re made by an oem
ok
which isn’t custom apparently
so does rarity determine if a board is good
According to the community yes
if I pull out my PPS caps does that make any board better
It's only custom if a Himalayan monk designed, produced and assembled all the components
It’s only technically custom if they had it directly made by a manufacturer using files they had on hand
gatekeeping customs smh
Technically the right definition🤷
I know
Technically if you write in the order box "please include an extra invoice" it's a custom order
people also call it mechanical keyboards
when there is no definition of what is and what isn't a mechanical keyboard
A mechanical keyboard is a keyboard that costs at least $200 and isn't sold by a major manufacturer
so a model m is only mechanical if the spring is not pemanently attached to the flipper?

what is a major manufacturer
Membrane technically also moves
Stabilisers as well
If your average gamer has heard of it
There is no threshold
average gamer has bearly heard of wooting
for mechanical keyboards
You can call it entry level
wooting is not a major manufacturer yet
lol

so it is custom if you get the ISO-PBT caps
or the ansi PBT caps
but not if you get the ISO ABS caps
Only if you get it in a currency worth less than the euro
you talked about USD
I'm fairly sure the average gamer doesn't even know what the difference between a mechanical keyboard and a membrane is. most gamers are not hardware people.
mongs lol
No, mechanical keyboards are definitely defined by cost and accessibility
Is a typewriter that I've modified to input into an ipad that I use for text input a mechanical keyboard
this hp pavillion 500 with some non-descript browns is also not mechanical
because it is 14€
BNIB
🤔
trolling
What
smartest gmmk pro owner
GMMK pro is only $170 or something
And your average gamer might have heard of glorious mice
Therefore
Hey
Gmmk pro is dogshit
What do you call the switches in the gmmk pro?
it has no switches per default
yeah
Bro already dropped it off
also
how fast he shipped it
I paid 35 minutes ago
wtf lmao
It is.
he was staking the fedex or some shit
Skill issue
Ok?
browns are a real switch
what switches is it compatible with
mechanical ones
hence making it a mechanical keyboard
so if I find an mx compatible integrated dome
does that make every mx compatible not mechanical
What the fuck are you saying
If it has mx sockets
Or any mechanical switch socket
It’s a mechanical keyboard.
Domes are not mechanical
you could make that but mx compatible
i't just a rubebr dome
but in a plastic housing
It’s not mechanical.
No it’s not.
Mx plebs definition of mechanical is literally if it isn’t mx it isn’t mechanical lol
My phone has a mechanical keyboard
It has to have moving parts.

Phone is solid state so no
It was produced using a machine
a tool
A mechanical tool
the process isn’t the end result
not a machine though
What keyboards you all be havin

Why is a keyboard not a machine?
right in front of me atm F2-84
no mechanical power
it's worse than an F1
can confirm

it feels fine
just worse
Yeah that’s what I’ve heard
F1 V1 alu plate too good
I mean, the example given is a fax machine
yes
I got a duck jetfire comin in da mail but I just shipped out my frog that I had
which uses motors
or did you use fax machines where you manually had to draw through the paper
Anyways
If keyboards don't use mechanical power
Then they can't possibly be mechanical devices?
Therefore
No keyboards are mechanical
no
a machine
keyboards are not machines
therefore stuff made with keyboards is not mechanical
aka
software keyboards are not mechanical
The software keyboard is made by the thinking rock in my phone
Which was made by a machine

Well, you definitely got it
so does the thinking rock in your phone
Acshually it’s thinking silicon
are these switches reliable?
and no price yet
that has to be one of the oddest features on keyboards
no switches are "unreliable" its literally one moving part
i just realized none of my keyboard designs have any way to "case"
should i just leave that to plate/case designing me >.>
and fab the pcb as is
the thing that confuses me most on the oneplus keyboard is why it has the keycaps labelled for mac
odd but actually pretty smart when you think about it, provided you want to use a desk for both computer and paperwork stuff
when i saw it i thought it was just to let you adjust the angle
Because keychrons come with those
Why wouldn’t the re-skin follow suit
...oh huh, so they do
Revolutionary
I have a backlit keyboard for my desktop. When the computer is powered off the keyboard is still on. Any way to resolve?
Check the bios for options that keeps usb powered when off or try another port.
👍
what sites would yall recommend for parts
where do you live
the US
divnikey, kfa, dang keebs, cannonkeys, novel keys
i can name more if you tell me which parts you are looking for
and what the budget is
im looking to build an entire keyboard from the ground up
and havent decided a budget yet
budget is the first place we shud start off
do you have like a general figure
150? 200?
id say between like 150 to 250 or so
layout like size?
sure
its a bit blurry
if you cant read it
just tell me how far from the top the one you want is
dont trust gas
at all
gas's name
is short
for gaslighter
tf is a gas
ya im in no huge hurry
this is gas btw
got it got it
for an instock option there is the tiger lite
I ain’t even do nothing
and the monsgeek m1
put some respect on my name tf
bros plastered
i thought he had a lotta exp drinking
lightweight ass
Looks good
You don't need 2 alt, ctrl an windows keys
Unless you use some cursed eu layout
And when has anyone used the menu key
Any recommendations for keyboards in the EU? I am mostly interested in mechanical keyboards and I write code and play games for the vast majority of the day so I dont mind a good investment. The only switches I have used are razer greens a long time ago and MX silvers right now
I saw ducky keyboards too that looked nice but on amazon one I saw said 1 to 2 months delivery so that put me off if thats the case for most of their products
Didn’t know vegas were having extras
Keychron if you don’t wanna go fully custom
not really looking for anything custom, mostly for the comfort/usability
Comfort?
like
just nice to use?
I have a really cheap one and it feels like complete shit to use
Then Keychron
if you want comfort I’d just say opt for a split
Good value goes brr
It's still in stock right now
nice
not really interested in vega but cool
These are extra's so they ship by Monday
I have had some problems where my keys got pressed twice, is that MX silvers and me being an idiot or just something else
because it happens a lot with my current keyboard
It’s just Corsair being shoddy
oh you even know its corsair
yeah I am not denying that
