why hatred
i feel hatred towards this puzzle
lol there's some really interesting logic behind high level
im playing with life and death here
this is like the only game ive played that i want to hit my keyboard
ever

you should try playing without same number highlight

i saw one but it's not mmo

milky yellow

@chrome raft
hi :)
hi :)
(in terms of power consumption)
how are you
good just vcing a friend and playing games
nice
hbu
wtf
grand theft auhrot
what
how'd you know
im omniscient
can you sotp that
sorry
thanks
oh sorry, didnt see the message
im pretty good and now im going to sleep
Dead channel?
Partially i think most people here are US based
So I’m probably the only one here cause I live in the uk and it’s 9AM
i just bought a keyboard like a week ago and windows key is not working i just realized this since i cant to windows shit what ever
ok
sometimes i remember that qmk supports a lot of the features present in a ds4
or maybe a steam controller
I just cleaned it. It's a bit damaged though. F8 is broken and Corsair logo started peeling off
???
Hi yes am here
???
¿¿¿
‽‽‽
idk people don’t like keyboards
yeah
What does the pc community think of nzxt’s pcs?
My PC has a NZXT case and it's meh. The airflow isn't good but it's easy to work with
I meant their prebuilts
I never knew they had prebuilds
If I still have the courage by the time I have the money I will build a pc
if not I will buy a prebuilt
I promise you it is both not difficult and there are tons of people who enjoy helping part out a build and guide new builders
I have already parted out a build
I think building keyboards and building pcs are similar but people trivialize pcs
Keep an eye on those 3d chips if you wont be building for at least a month too
I’m planning on a 78003xd or whatever it’s called
using the integrated graphics on that until I buy a 6900xt
Or a 3090, I don’t remember.
Typing on the Corsair Strafe is a great experience
I love the little click when the key is pressed

Are holy panda's worth it?
no.
which ones
none are worth it
if you want a panda get purp pandas
keyboards.
keyboards.
Im trying to find a linear switches that has a good pre travel actuation force and weight .
That can fit in outemu sockets.
milky yellows
please be quiet
why tho
hi gas
hello
do you think i can fit
a 2x2 macropad at 45deg inside an altoids tin with a joystick
may i
i wonder if theres much of a market for choc based controllers
ec11 is the usual
its about 1u
yeah but i want a qmk controller
It doesn’t record analog movements, just arrows
Lord of hat
nvm they kinda small
have you measured an Altoids tin
In a altoids tin?
the standard not mini
yeah if it can fit a wii it can probably be a controlelr
the spongle
ooh i love
honestly no use but it looks cute
it can be a basic macro pad
though i dont have a use for a macropad smaller than 5x4
possibly 4x3 if im feeling generous
i would probably use it as a scroll thing or media thing
these are my media keys right now
enter would be play and yada yada yada
whats a good switch thats got a small footprint
those look like mx
or am i looking for something els
lol wait what if i staggered the hands, lid is left hand tin is right hand
then the triggers are on the backs of those
worried about it folding in tho
i need some altoids
right now a corne
crkbd
though i get excited and wanna type fast a lot so also use v3
tenting or no tenting?
none
V3?
keychron
Ah
hi gas
Hi lux
anyone has experience with Drop not shipping keycaps?
after 19 days of paying the order
reach out to customer service
I did
they told me week 1 that there is a slight delays
week 2 that they had a system outage
and now week 3 that apparently one of the items they sold me is not in stock anymore
each week a different excuse and I just don't know if anything will ever arrive
Drop is a legitimate vendor, they won’t run off with your money
It’ll probably get there, eventually.
looks like an alright price
on the lower end
if that includes the keycaps and the build that's a prettyy good buy'
yeah it seems like a good price, definitely not if you're not into keyboards though
Yeah I'm not into them I was just wondering what you guys thought.
Farthest I'd be willing to go with keyboards is just buying a 65% one and then not doing anything to it other than using it
it's a pretty nice price for a bauer, you could probably never rationalize spending that much though
What's a good 65% keyboard that I could just use out of box with little hassle at an entry level price?
Really not interested in spending over $200 CAD on a keyboard though, idk if that's a good budget or a bad one but yeah. @glossy sandal
that's fine
you said a keyboard you don't have to touch ?
is there anything else, wirelessness, hotswappability, etc?
Hotswappable would always be a nice feature incase I ever wanna get into switches more. Wired for certain, and preferably a darker color (not white or pink)
heard
any of these would do nicely, https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_list&c=169
these are also okay
I like the look of this one quite a bit
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=8558
I know I said dark but this looks retro
yep, awesome board
im unsure of the wirelessness of that one but the quality is definitely there
here's the same board
just no bluetooth, a feature you aren't using anyways.
do you want a click and a bump, a small bump, a medium bump, or none of the above
shut up

Idek what that means
he’s spewing nonsense don’t listen to him
wtf !!
sorry
What's wrong??
I don't get it 😕
ok im back, yk those pens that you need to click
Yes
before you get to the click it is smooth all the way down
but if you click it all the way there is a bump
think of it like that
you are making no sense
shut
reds will be smooth all teh way down
browns will have a small bump in the press
clears will have a bigger bump
the blues will have a big bump and a clicky sound
Have u played fallout?
no but why

so damn at a loss for words
I would’ve responded with the same thing lmaoo
clears are like browns but they have a more defined bump and have different weight to them(?)
Fallout 4 is good
I agree
A question about this
could you design 2 pcbs and make one mx and one low profile
i mean i could, but why mx?
it could be anything
just taking advantage of the tin’s height
one being low profile and the other being whatever fits in the tin
idk mixing switch types for the same fingers feels like itd feel awkward
these types could also be quite interesting given the space
maybe for the trigger/bumpers
yeah the idea was kinda dumb
drop the link, i can think of something v v similar
cherry :o that caps led window
but the thing about how top and bottom can be used
putting a pcb on both would be an option or does the top not have enough room
It’s gmk wob shine through addon
bar and scooop
yeah same thing
I want that cherry enter bad
have you seen the red alert artisan
cherry enter goes so hard
it’s so damn good
the colored cherry led key
I think browns are the best upon further searching
this one right
So damn good dude
perfect F13
reminds me did you get some blacks done up from him yet?
@glossy sandal I saw someone on a tiktok taping a part of their keyboard what does that do
joysticks and dpads fit like this, though i wonder if thatd be too far apart to switch quickly
what part
like was it the side of their case? inside the case?
Inside
tape on the back of the pcb is p common
chad set
cursed
And what's with foam
you should be booted from the channel
foam alters sound
what about inside the pcb
sorry
lmfao
I am the latter
tapping inside the case might be to test of any ping
if its an alu case
fiberglass can be foam if you think hard enough
It was tape on the pcb
Do you lube your switches @glossy sandal
the thrift one
With what like Vaseline?
krytox by chemours
vaseline ruins plastic
What about wd40
are you trolling
I'm just wondering if it would work atp
it would not
have you seen keebs with f row relengendables
that shit goes hardddd
Yeah
Domikey
hate has some boards like that, kinda mid imo
but relegendable nav cluster goes hard
ok ok what bat releganbe num row
oh btw check badminton
Why wouldn't wd40 work though? It's a lubricant
Anyways @glossy sandal thanks for ur time, I think imma get that one we spoke about earlier with the brown switches
awesome
I just wanted an upgrade from my shitty full sized corsair one I got in like 2016
leopold is definitely an upgrade
used my living room keyboard for the first time since getting my custom one made i hate it so much
nothing but numrow keycaps will look good on numrow
It will never look good no matter what you use
time for a second
Btw if this starts me off on a keyboard addiction you are the sole being at blame 🤣
need a wireless 65% now
fml i just told someone they should keeb living
i might just get some cheap wireless 65%, some decent factory lubed linears, and just toss a bit of tape and foam in it. im not looking to do another lube job
who said you needed to lube
i said
respectable
Keychron K6 QMK/VIA wireless Custom mechanical keyboard. Supports QMK/VIA. Wireless or Wired. Hot swap every switch in a breeze with the hot-swappable feature. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Keychron K Pro mechanical switches. Connect up to 3 devices. South-facing RGB backlight.
v65
both half decent cheap ahh wireless 65s
its distinctly the scratchyness and spring noise of my living room board that are annoying me now
ive heard mixed things about the wireless and qmk implementation in kpro
its lowk weird how much things are pronounced in old rap
im too used to half the shit being mumbled
needs to have stronk wireless is its primary job as its my living room pc board and needs to not drop out when moved around or occluded
o
i mean as long as it does keyboard things i dont need any control
does the barebones k6 come with stabs?
Yes
this is a keyboard chat btw
what does hid mean
@gloomy patrol
like this one
is this the top and bottom
yeah
seems prettyy lit
gonna see what i can do about bumper tiriggers
do you think you could make it into one pcb or am i just being silly
i mean i could make a single pcb controller
make it one pcb and make a cut in the middle so it flips open into one board
i know the link65 had a fucky pcb that worked on a hinge system or something
mhm
i think it actually might be more comfortable to hold it like a book
yknow whatd be kinda cool but potentially detrimental
a return to center momentary two way switch instead of a trigger/bumper
like this
push for trigger pull for bumper
on the sides?
index fingers
you cant push both at the same time now so oof
kinda wack
it was just a passing thought
that is a really funny idea though
"bottom" meaning?
the bottom layout on this mockup
this is book
the spcae between the dpad and the joystick
oh shit lmaooo
i though it would be held like this
how do i
hmmm
@cunning anvil '
i thought that's what you were doing
but now it makes sense
keyboard 1: 36 key splittable mx ortho
keyboard? 2: choc altoids controller lol
i think that's an appropriate escalation
mint chocolate chip
love to see it
also more switches
that might be one of the only ortholinears that look good to me
This is keyboard chat btw
im duncing you
they were good
the way they were cooked was kinda scuffed though lmao
i can tell you in badminton
okay so not HID idea but what if i put a hinge between 2 altoids lids and it opened up like an accordian
nah lmao they were that good
shove a controller on the sides, put a lil emu in the middle
an emu?
emulator
like one of tose pi zero retro machines
looking for a decent full sized keyboards
budget?
under 200 preferably
[IC] Dino104 | GB September 14th
q6 is sold out
keychron.com and im from canada
you picked on the international version
oh
wow even the v6 is sold out
are you okay with building?
because it seems like that's your only option
not really I dont know enough to build one
have you ever built a pc?
yeah
it's like 100x easier than that
i can pick out parts for you so you don't have to worry, can you tell me what you'd like?
https://www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-q-series-keyboard/products/keychron-q6-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard this one here is still in stock
Keychron Q6 is a fully customized full-size layout mechanical keyboard packed with all premium features and endless possibilities. Q6 is an all-metal keyboard that allows customizable capabilities for every key switch, keycap, knob, and stabilizer. It’s made for your personalized experience and a more comfortable typing experience.
I think dont say sold out at bottom
oh that's nice
I just get in silver
then buy the one you like, do you need me to explain the difference between red/blue/brown?
insead
if that's what you'd like
all i know is some are louder than others
not necessarily
browns and reds are about the same, loudness concerned
browns a little bump you can feel when the switch has actuated, reds are a smooth press down, no bump or nothing.
blues have an audible click when you actuate it
ive always gotten reds
How much are they?
just get whatever one has the features you like
its just a gamer keyboard, they're all the same
Personally, I enjoy the keyboards by EPOMaker, got a 75% with all the bells and whistles, hot-swappable PCB, RGB, lighting controls, USB-C connection, and it was like $80
Eh, had mine for a few months now, nothing egregiously bad, and I tend to avoid the CS because.. Let's face it, 80% of CS is garbo.
They have a track record of ghosting people trying to return stuff
and like most companies, smaller ones atleast in keyboard communities are lovely to work with
there’s been tons of issues with epomaker boards I’ve worked on
Loose plate cutouts, bent plates, loose hotswap sockets, literal dead switches, nicks in knobs
Saw a demon when I got sleep paralysis the day before yesterday, tried my best morphing him into a keycap
Tysm
what’s it’s name
Syth
It looks cartoony now but it was really scary, it's just my art style on the keycap
Clay lmao, so it could have that little deformed effect when it got heated a bit
Then I used a sealer on it
you have never built a keyboard jerry
It’s very cute
I have
lie
I'll press X to doubt, I've built both and PC was defo harder
sort of
Tysm
pc buliding is easy
you’re lying
no
show me your keyboard
phone dead

The compatibility is hard to check
I have never built a pc but I have built dozens of keyboards
That's nice
I've built 2
Keyboards
i did everything expect putting a pcb into a case
so you just put switches and keycaps
im the other way around
and modded it
Did you solder?
how would you mod it without taking out the pcb/plate assembly
i did that
unless you did some weird stuff
do not syringe lube please
it’s stupid and wasteful
ill do that
I've tried it and it's a disaster
anything to piss gas off
Makes the keeb a dust magnet for like a year

No matter how much you clean it
I have never syringe lubed
Also everything's sticky for a couple months
mostly because it takes like 4 seconds to realize why it’s a bad idea
I tried it on a 20 dollar keeb lmao
why does every regular in this server have something against me
I’m just keyboarding
i have twitch
what
What
they removed purple
what does that have to do with
techically not a regular
I didn’t mean it like that
it's 10 pm imagine being in school
It is 22:26
12pm for me, and uni
same time zone
And yes, its a sunday
should I get ducky one 3 or a keychron keyboard
Whatever suits you better
I am coming over and throwing you
keychorn
come up to canada
On my way!
what is differene between like q2 and q3
Btwbtw, a couple other keycaps I've made
They’re functionally the same board
anyways
the 1u is cool
I don’t really like artisans over 1u
especially spacebars, nice design on it though
Yup
is apex pro tkl worth it?
looks weird
it's not something I would ever see myself buying, but if you like the aesthetics, then sure?
I'm using a ducky one 2
their original design reminds me of one of those old office keyboards
what do you mean?
huh
looks pretty bogstandard to me
wish leopold was as in the spotlight as ducky
what is it
didn't know huano made mouse switches
pretty cool
do you have any plans for a new keyboard ?
I've only known huano for making mouse switches until recently
and do duckys use rgb cherry or nylon
same with kailh
they offer both
cherry, gateron, outemu are the ones I've seen thrown around the most
most of them are rgb though
the ones with decal like sakura or macha or the ocean one uses nylon stock though
took them long enough
yeah, really
they also made minor adjustments to the body of the one 3, so it should have a more solid sound instead of a hollow sound
in that small niche of prebuilts, varmillo and leopold stand out, all the others can step off
yeah I like varmillo a lot
the arrow key placement though
that is the best part
definitely not for me
that entire layout is dope
it breaks the even-ness
i love it to shreds
similar to tkl
and i love it
and leopold does black on black which is awesome
that i can appreciate
iidk what happened to das keyboard, they fell off.
I bought my keyboard with the intention of using it for a very long time, so I don't think so
not much
I did buy some spare switches and a soldering kit just in case but that's as far as I got
also disassembling the one 2 is actually a pain in the butt
prebuilt gamer solder sucks so bad man
get some desoldering braid
makes it a bit easier to do
interesting
kind of funny
im planning two keyboards in the span of this year
i really need to find a keyboard i can settle on
what's braid? why not a pump
braid and pump
for desodderin
ye
did you alter the altoid controller any
Because braid is just better
ive never used it so just wondering why
does it get everything?
or do you need to finish it off
idk i grew up with the pump and literally only learned about braid when i was buying a kit, had no idea if it was for soldering or desodderiong
With a sucker you’re usually relying on the leftover flux on your pcb if you haven’t cleaned it off
They’re also really ass at stuff like bent pins
Because it needs a proper seal to work efficiently
mx
?
hello
hi
Hello
hey mx have you seen my latest thought stream lol
like did you know qmk basically doubles as a controller firmware
i need less coffee
Wait isn’t that it’s whole purpose
so rn im seeing how much controller i can shove in an altoids tin
Lol have fun with that
i already have the space planned for everything except bumper/trigger, rumble
i think
like, this doesnt look too hard to hold
mx spacing on keys
though prob choc would be a better switch in a literal altoids tin
huh?
like go without the bottom part of a switch and just have the pcb fill that role or
like, as a shock absorber or a fidget thing or
boing
you can glue just about anything to anything else if you wanna
what does that mean
It’s up to you
hi cant
https://www.amazon.fr/Cooler-Master-Clavier-américain-Métallique/dp/B07N4CTJB4/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1 is this a good keyboard ?

i can get it for like 70 euro
pretty mediocre
mechanical is a nice upgrade over membrane
if you like it then why ask
to know if i can recomend it or not
i may like it but the quality may also be absent
disregard most gaming branded things
even if the membrane is a model m?
that's different

not really a gaming branded keyboard tbh but yeah i see what youre saying
my point is not all mebranes are the same
but isn’t the model m buckling spring
yeah
what you're referring to is rubber dome
the sensing uses a membrane like most cheap rubber domes today
look it up
model m is membrane and model f is capacitive
a rubber dome keyboard is more commonplace than the one model m uses so in this context I say I get a pass
no..‼️
fine
I was talking to mx
ah
but why be incorrect when you dont have to be
I’m not googling it because I’m tired 💯
i aint reading allat 💯
FR
but for 144 euros, I'm sure you can find something a little nicer
got my keyboard for 70 tho, and it has cherry red switch so u aint reading allat
I think I should get one of those coiled cables. It would look much better
yes.
Don’t worry about it
Why not wireless?
gamur
i had those generic oem microphone long time ago
cool
im just holding on to it because I need to get a new dac to use with a measurement mic
Any 100% with media control? Looking for something similar to a k70, if there’s anything that comes close to that for the value
There's not much reason to get a wireless keyboard if it's just going to be sitting on the desk for eternity
Oh my fucking god so based
what is difference between gateron stwitches and cherry ones
on keychron website some use cherry switches and some use gateron
wagabagabobo
This is the keyboard that I want 😃
nice

There it is
I'd like to see some blind tests comparing keyboard latency for wired vs wireless
I like to play games myself, and I can't tell any difference whatsoever between a BT 5 connection and wired
the difference is honestly negligible
rhythm games can be used to see if there's any notable latency differences
at least, that's what I've been doing
I use a wired board for everything
used a Bluetooth board for osu and didn’t notice any noticeable difference
monitor response times is usually is more noticeable over keyboard input lag on a good quality keyboard
real
anti-aliasing, fsr, and dlss can also increase input lag
any keyboard using 1000hz polling rate is fine for gaming
I can understand if it’s like 200 or something but 1000hz which is standard on most boards nowadays means any board can be used for gaming
do you need a hug
no i need a keyboard
im holding out for a keyboard till the end of the night
its gotta be smooth and its gotta thock and its gotta have a cool backplate
you should buy a freyr
may
you may buy a freyr, yes.

Yes
What do u guys think of coil usb c cable is it just for cosmetic or any benefits on it?
Cosmetics
The quick disconnect is redundant as shit since you have a better one on your keyboard called usb
in linuses latest vid hes comlpaining about lack of a right shift key on that laptop, anyone else not use right shift literally ever? lol
im not a slow typer either
I never use right shift, it’s more of a preference thing though
or maybe it’s an aesthetics thing for Linus, no idea.
i think i can hold an altoids tin in each hand like a pair of joycons
but should i
i love smoking marlboro
that’s bad for you nightpie
is that how it is tough pie
yes
milky yellow
always
sunset chocs
shut
sorry

will need to sand the keys i think if i go that route, but i feel like itd be the most comfortable way to hold, so im trying my darndest
im iffy about modifying caps i could reuse in the future
why not get short caps then
its not fitting in the key's plane, not in height ;~;
Not even DSA?
this is choc spacing
i had to rotate them 50degrees in either direction
so its not technically a 45
its like .2mm between the two dpads
i have an idea
i think any more and itd be hard to push adjacent buttons at the same time
alternatively, having a single pcb for both sides of the controller just wired up differently could be cheaper to prototype?
might be able to fit a smol trackball
could be anything really
orion has a line of lights horizontally above the nav cluster from what ive seen on images
i swear i recognize the caps
looks like pbtfans rin but isn’t
thats what it was
any1 know a good looking 75% keyboard that feels good
whats a good crunchy switch
get milky yellows and put doritos under the stem
I never thought that theres akko pom which is actually better than akko cs.
lowk cherries
tomo
cheaper?\
Hes telling you whats your budget
What 60% Board. That supports 5 pin Switches?
60 usd
^^
for the whole thing?
i would save up just a bit nad pick up a v1
how's the c1
i prob could
what are some nice keycaps that would work with that?
shenpo
but you can buy it with the keychron caps
link?
search shenpo keycaps on amazon.com
wristrests?
i was asking for a wristrest
oh
i think the current ones are nice
Astro so silly
in my defense they replied the message abt shenpo
yes
kk
sorry
what does this mean
does anyone know where I could find keycaps similar to this? thanks!
so just wob with purple accents
Am not sure but basically its difference than akko cs, thing is akko pom. Switches is for gaming purposes with fast actuation force
Wow gaming
pbtfans purpolch
any switches can be for gaming
they all have the same response time
but I like Akko pom switches, they’re nice
I dont know but thats what they said
God damn it why did i not pick this crap its better than akko cs
real
gah damn getting into this hobby is expensive
It’s not
how scuffed is jury rigging a 2x2 cutout from a foldable keyboard as a dpad
you k mx?
That last word is censored here apparently
seems an altoids tin is too short/thin for a choc switch and an analog stick on top of each other
i hate clicky buttons
I love clicky thwomy keyboards
not clicky like mechanical
like clicky like pens?
are they as tiny as they look
maybe?
they’re cute
yeah prob would be really easy to make compared to tryna fit choc switches
they look like the cookie robots from the movie
