it will tell you all about the stock layers
and how to control rgb without software
Is that software free?
Oh okay, I just wanna be able to do it like on my laptop
for that you'll need software
also you know that the stock keycaps are not shine through right ?
But it's easy to take them off if I ever want different ones, right?
yes it's quite easy
Awesome
if you get another keycap set just be sure that it support 65% with the short right shift and the 3 small key between the spacebar and arrows
Oh okay, thanks!
yep, you can swap them around to your liking
and that tool on the right can be used to pull the keycaps with
yes
brainfart
If I leave it plugged in all the time, will there be issues with the battery it has?
no idea ... I'm pretty sur it's not that good for the battery
Is it a rechargeable one?
Oh good. Then I don't mind
you have a 2.4gHz dongle and the keyboard is bluetooth too
Is the bluetooth or 2400mhz bad for latency?
bluetooth yes
I have a lot of 2400mhz congestion here, I dunno if it will be that good for the keyboard
2.4 gHz no ... but be sure to put the dongle in a usb 2.0 port
Shouldn’t be any issues, just keep it in wired mode
2.4ghz dongles don’t have any perceivable latency
Though I’m pretty sure board is programmed to already do that
Oh okay, great
<1ms
Oh I see, because on 2400mhz Wi-Fi it's always +3-5ms latency on top of the internet's latency.
I don't notice any latency with it
also if you use it wireless and with rgb ... well the battery won't last that long
I’ve used Bluetooth keyboards before
I am planning to plug it in all the time
no cripplingly bad latency
Yeah should be fine
be sure to select the plugged in mode with fn + u
Pretty sure it auto selects that mode when you plug it in
Like 90% of other wireless devices
nah not if you're already in another mode
but if you freshly plug it in then yes
so most of the time when I charge it, it still continue to use the 2.4 even if it's plugged
How do you know?
and also you can switch to bluetooth like if you want to use it on the phone while plugged in
cause wired is not selected as a mode and it stops working when I unplug the dongle
then I have to select the wired mode for it to work
yes probably ...
maybe it's because I never did any firmware update and never installed the software
Oh
but I don't want it to auto select cause sometimes when it's plugged in I just switch it to bluetooth to use it on my phone
like to reply to a text message or something ... and then switch back to wired or 2.4 depending of what I need to do with it
I think connecting a mech board to a phone is like the most overkill thing ever
it's way nicer and faster to type on keyboard than on a phone
that’s abnormal
it should be <1ms
Prob cuz other devices are using the network on 2.4
Howdy
I currently have a 60% alu-cased keyboard that I tossed together via parts from qmmk. It has gat yellows and some no-name white side printed keycaps
I'm looking to buy or build a second keyboard because the 60% and linear fascination has more than worn off.
Any suggestions for moderately priced barebones tkl or 96%? ($100-$150 ish budget for barebones kit)
Tiger80 lite is awesome for that price
does anyone know if there is a version of the rk61 that has more than one rgb colour RK ROYAL KLUDGE RK68 65% Hot-Swappable Wireless Mechanical Keyboard, 60% 68 Keys Compact Bluetooth Gaming Keyboard with Stand-Alone Arrow/Control Keys, Clicky Blue Switch,White https://amzn.eu/d/eu2WsmT I can't find one but don't know if anyone else does know
I don't think that they have what you're talking about available on your country's Amazon
If you don't mind £20 more, this is a decent option
Hello all
I know this is a bit of a strange question on an English YT channel.
But does anyone know a nice keycap set with ISO-CH?

What'd he do 😢
Oh yeah a keyboard that sounds like snow 💯
waiting patiently for a board that sounds like suede
Oooooohohohohooo she has arrived
Hoping for a keyboard that sounds like a GENELEC8361B to come out soon
whats a good black hot swappable wireless 70-80% keyboard 200 usd budget
@river wharf
ye
ye
So for 80%/TKL, keychron K8 pro
Since wirelessness isn’t really on more premium boards that’s pretty much your only option
If you’re willing to wait and get a 75% though, keychron q1 pro
is there a link to that?
no, you can get an email when it releases though
that's why I said, if you're willing to wait.
is there an estamated release time, and a link to where i can put my email?
early jan
ill wait fosho then
sadly not fully metal but it looks good
till then ill need a really cheap keyboard
it is full metal
the keyboard it's the pro version of is all metal lmao
it's made of 6063 aluminum, the top and bottom case are/
ISnt the q series all metal?
yes
oh
the v series are a series of tray mount plastic boards in a variety of layouts, the q series is a series of metal gasket boards in various layouts
someone also said this is good https://keebsforall.com/collections/zoom-tkl/products/zoom-tkl-ee
ah yeah that one is decent
it is
wat?
i would say its a light step up from keychron q1
whats the differnce in mounts
don't listen to astro btw
i have v1 right now
fuck you
Its another suisei video and it will not stop coming :)
Keyboard: Vertex Arc60
Plate: Alu plate
Switches: Cherry MX Browns lubed with 204g0 and TX filmed, spacebar MM Switches (Nylon Housing + POM Stem)
Keycap: GMK Oni
Stabilizers: TX Stabs
No foams were used
Short review
Great ass board, probably amongst my top 3 60% ive tried/ bought, look...

lmao
q1 is gasket
it uses poron strips on the plate
to mount it to the case
v series is tray
you screw pcb plate assembly into case
which one is "better" in build quality
zoom imo ig
yeah zoom, that's not a big step up though
meletrix a-stock has not blown me away tbh
i still have my finals
are there any better ones for sub 200?
how it looks is uh you get to come in with the hook, thesis, and quotes and you write the rest on the fly
im sorry what?
any requirements or is the only thing that i needs to be a keyboard
he's talking to me about his essay lol
ignore that i got sidetracked
none in next 3 months
maybe jris75
so till then i need a sub 20usd keyboard to hold me off
office board
i do have a micro center near me 7m away
logitech mk270 so goated
thats the only good part of my life
used butter browns too, based as fuck
your friendly trap out here putting in the work
there is a logitech mouse and keyboard combo for 50 bucks
which might mean that keyboard might go for around 20
k825
rise and grind
after 1 day ive coped so hard that my keyboard feels good
my space bar is the perfect thoccx
if only https://keebsforall.com/products/zoom-tkl-ee-by-meletrix-black-case-color? had a knob
ill get the q1 pro ig
Qk75 might've been perfect for you but it ended, maybe jris 75?
rate my build:
Board: CIY Tester84 (TONS of factory stab lube)
Switches: Feker Matcha Green (factory lube)
Keycaps: XVX Forest Double Shot PBT Keycap Set (189-Key)
Layout: I remapped some keys, swapping home with delete, and then replacing Print screen, pause, and home with mute, vol down, vol up
budget: $150 AUD or around $100 USD
you didnt make your own layout you jsut remap keys
ok changed
it types really well
nice
link?
iv also heard that wireless is bad for gaming so im wondering if i should go for a better wired one
the latency is a non issue
for which one
i hear that the q1 pro wireless has a 90Hz polling rate over Bluetooth which is bad for gaming
don't use bluetooth for gaming
get a keyboard that has 2.4 gHz dongle if you want good wireless
what are the options for a 75% hot swappable black keyboard then
affter putting in the filters, they don't
i kinda like this one
Guys!! :D
I just finished my first keyboard mod, and I was wondering what you guys thought of it, if it sounds decent or not :P
Well.. "First keyboard mod" as in getting foam, lubing some switches, and doing the tape mod
Anyone know keycap sets that let light through the characters
Pretty good
I'm about to do a 2nd mod to my keyboard which is foam
Everything came prelubed so I didn't have to worry about that
And I put some tape on the pcb as my first mod
How's the space bar though
shine through?
it is called shine through
Ok
Who provides good shine through? Because I have not seen any keycap set be advertised as that
Idk if I might not be searching hard enough
Is the wooting 60he good for typing
ike any other keyboard
What makes it any other different
It's just hall effect
Games are the only difference
The feel or smth
it's definitely not a board aimed at typists
you should only buy it if you intend to use its flexible actuation point switch feature for gaming
thats the only reason it exists
I was gonna buy it myself
Of course
But full size was too expensive for me and 60 wasn't enough
But typing is still important
Based borzoi
Where’d you hear that
Isn't that most bt devices?
Unsure
I've heard that most bt keyboards have like a 90-100 hz
I’ve used Bluetooth devices
Yeah it’s around there
But it doesn’t really matter if you’re using wired
any keyboard recs? my main color scheme is black with white/silver/gray, but it would be really nice to be able to switch to black with (dark) blue and black with red at will
prefer kaihl box white switches
Unfortunately basically all shine through keycaps are cheap and suck. I've tried and wasted money trying
Damm
I guess I'm gonna need light or remember where the keys are
do people not learn homerow
Mostly binds
what?
You know
Uh
Well whenever I need to remember something I have to look down sometimes
Or making sure I type a password right
ok so learn to not look down as much
For whatever reason I can't trust my fingers
not probably it definitely will
Work on acc!!
i forgo speed if i do
Speed comes with time
learn acc first then speed
Pay attention to what you’re typing
the process is usually accuracy > homerow > touch type > speed(practice)
i could jeep speed and gain accuracty if i use something like my phone
putting it close to my keyboard
What
yeah i still need to look at my keys
Maybe just type slower and familiarize yourself with your keys
And then type faster as soon as you’re comfortable typing without looking
i recommend typing on a laptop since the screen is right above your keys, ive seen it help with new typers
huh ok
that is if you already have a laptop
i can just put my keyboard above my laptop lol
sure
not a fan of the laptop keyboard
it helps with the muscle memory
as long as the screen is close enough to see the keyboards edge but not where youre directly looking at the keys
it's good for anything
honestly was in general considering a "gaming" keyboard
only downside is ofc lower build quality and its hard to get kaihl box white switches on em
seems fair
what does a gaming keyboard even mean
your average "gaming" branded keyboard
and the switches usually aint swappable
what makes this a gaming keyboard
i literally see no difference aside from rgb to a regular full size
non swappable switches, media keys, rgb, it just being branded as one, dedicated software
i don't know why we're having this discussion
and you want a board like this?
when did i say that
.
so you want a custom board or a gaming board? im having trouble understanding
im wondering what the best option would be
a gaming keyboard would solve looks but it has it's own issues as mentioned here
building my own is usually more expensive but more customiseable but for looks in that situation not nearly as easy
I guess if you want that specific color scheme, custom
it would be nice being able to easily switch between black and silver/gray, black and (dark) blue, and black and red
rgb is very good for that, which is the bane of custom
i mean, you could just get keycaps with silver/gray and a black case
this looks like it
and get a keyboard that uses rgb i.e keychron q series
heyyyy, hello!!! i'm new in the channel so first of all hi!
i'm here bc i wanted to ask y'all for a recommendation in keyboards, what should i look for and even a recommendation
As my preferences y would like full size and replaceable switches
Ig my final question is, Where can I get a black 75% hot swappable keyboard with a wireless dongle that also has a knob

Yknow what, maybe check out Qk75
When extras drop of course
What?
qk75 was a preorder, after those orders are fulfilled, there will be extras.
I mean i wouldn't recommend the black qk75, the spray paint they use feels rough
You have seen one irl?
i recommend taking a look at keychron
Reviews with the spray coats say they're a rough texture, not ideal for typing on
Interesting.
Might get their anodized blue for r2
I never heard anything about that for qk65
Which in some configurations can also be spray painted.
It was a different process this time, possibly to add the glitter
Odd
I mean if you can keep your hand floating like one should anyways it's fine. I just know I don't lol
V6 or q6
Hey astro
i think ill buy a 15 dollar keyboard for now,and look for more
If you're fine with white nj80 had what you want
link?
y is the font so big
i had to delete the m from the link
Oh thought you meant on the keycaps, I'm on my phone rn
would this be better https://iqunix.store/products/iqunix-zx75-dark-side-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40325952077884
Iqunix is good but terrible for modding if you care about that
I'm at a loss for words
Man.
what?
why is it bad to mod in
It's really inconvenient to take apart for mods and don't make much difference. They're decent stock but that's basically a ceiling
ah so i won't go for that then
maybe i dont need wireless
I’m going to lube a switch with white out
lube
White out dries lol
I’m aware
after thinking im ready for a wired keyboard
Is razer huntsman mini good
Not really
Keychron Q1 works.
Please don’t I tried one in my local store and it felt like cheap ass piece of plastic and weighed nothing I’d genuinely rather have a basic office keyboard than a cheap feeling huntsman
Hi British, been a while
Yeah I had bad case of Covid for a week or two but I’m good now

which version
Q1v2
when is the wireless version coming out
January, shipping is expected in march.
is it through a dongle or bluetooth
Bluetooth 5.1, you can turn off pings to reply btw.
i think ill buy that if the reviews are good
I prefer keyboards with cables and then wireless mice ( or a loose cable one like a Glorious Mouse) idk why just a random ass preference
wired for gaming bluetooth for everything else
i hear bluetooth keyboards have a lot of lag
What’s the best keyboard for small hands
100 max
Do you intend to mod it?
V4
honestly just look at the keychron V lineup and pick a layout you like
“If you don’t know what keyboard to get you can’t go wrong with a keychron -Master Oogway”
I think this will be my next board
Really hoping akko does another full size, but I don't think my chances are good
go q5
Why not step up from keychron?
They’re decent for getting into the hobby but won’t it get boring?
it would be for a not gaming setup
mouse space isn't an issue
since it'll probably be used with a magic trackpad half the time
Anyone else who does ready to ship at decent quality?
Aftermarket is a thing
yeah thats true
Keychron does have that that they have everything ready to ship
I view them as something I use everyday
exactly
Why wouldn’t I care for something I use everyday
Though I may be a tad more enveloped than others
I'm very happy with my Q3 right now
keychron q series is nice
Sure is
the other reason why i was thinking keychron, is I thought most of the custom market was focused on small boards?
Thats crazy, how does it feel?
…?
Yeah, full size boards are harder to come by, there’s a gb for one right now I think
Dino104
Ah nevermind, it came and went
There’s a lot more interest in 1800 though.
He big boi
350 is for me max on a keyboard

Maybe some day a 450 ish keybaord for endgame nothing more
lol maybe after working a salaried job for a year
but im more of a "well, 90% of the way there is basically all the way there..." kind of person
Yes
if that makes sense
With me first 10% is done very slowly and everything after that is quick
I’m guessing that would be around 700-800$?
does this channel have slowmode
it does not
hype
Does not, there would be a notice in the text box
uh i feel like the 4 back plate thing might get a bit more pricy than that
my dumbass just realized that
Maybe a external one though
if you keep the top mminimal you might be able to keep it there
Gaojie 😭😭😭
Same but i wanna sell mine
Yeah, still unsure what to do for top
this is a tkl right
lowk 3.0 top was hot
cursive on the gap between nav and arrows is basic but nice
you rlly dont have much space to work with
gas what are some cool 60s i shud look at
I wanna do a Mode80 forehead
like not ones i can buy
The 5head lmao
hmm i can see a curve looking interesting
at one point i wanted to do a 60 with on xt col on each side pen rail on two with two badges on each side of the pen rail
What
like old ahh ones
Oh just like old sold through boards
yea
someone mentioned it earlier and now i want to figure out my grail for each layout
Didn’t know about this until like 4 hrs ago
i thought it was a list of endgames to scroll through
ok yk there is a heavy grail on there
Maybe gmmk pro is someone’s endgame
not bad
ong good on them
they are saved from poverty
Does G Skill make good keyboards
Maybe avoid threads like these though
No
I saw your question for a keyboard good for small hands, I’d recommend a smaller layout
A good prebuilt under 100$, like you mentioned would be my choice of keychron’s V4/V2
Actually, speaking of Keychron, I’m reading a article on the K2 right now
how bad is gaming on bluetooth
Not that bad, depends how much you blame latency for your own shortcomings
i hear the "polling hz' impacts it
Wouldn’t recommend it as much as V2/V4
Only benefit is it’s wireless
Other than that, V series takes the spotlight
Yeah that’s good
OK
@gloomy patrol join bleach’s stream
in a sec
why not tag me on the server
Because he didn’t ping you
He’s doing stabs rn
@gloomy patrol he’s unboxing the frog!!
Make sure you pick the switches you want btw
red
Blue
tactile
so the "standard" colors are as follow
red = linear
brown = tactile
blue = clicky
My rankings go 1. Clicky
2. Tactile 3. Linear
I like clicky for typing tasks; but I also like open back headphones
finalmeme bouta drop the most question mark keyboard in existence
yea
Kailh box white, box jade and box navy would be something you should look at if you like clicky
Cherry clip ins
If they fit
does anyone know of a fullsize or 96% keyboard that is hot-swappable or has kailh box white/jade switches already installed
which has below 10ms latency
so 1000hz
keycron and ducky both have high latency
ducky only 500hz
asking for someone who wants those features but does not want to solder
Keychron has 1ms< delay
And 1000hz polling rate
What’re you on about
which model
Any V/Q series model
I’m unsure about the rest but I’m also pretty sure K Pro series are the same.
i found this list of some review site attempting to make a standardized latency test setup
half of the keychron are above 10ms but some are fairly good
unnoticeable ...
The difference is negligible
this keyboard was supposedly tested as 1ms response 4000hz
so finalmeme

you are paying for a 2nd screen on the table and a proprietary ecosystem.
i hope you like cleaning your keyboard often too
i just hope that it's a oled screen
got my box navy's in yesterday and they are soooo nice for typing lmao
absolutely love them
a bit on the heavys ide though
hhave trouble typing on them when i first wake up since theyre so heavy lol
box white are lighter
It's at the end of the vid
Does the q1 pro have a 1000hz polling rate?
In wired mode, yes.
Gah.
I wish it had a dongle so I could get 1k polling rate with no cable
Is the logitech MX Keys a good keyboard in general?
Like I used to have mech kbs before, but now since I don't game much, I prefer a lower profile keyboard that somewhat resembles a laptop keyboard, and after looking into some keyboards, i'm planning to get the MX Keys Mini
Yeah box switches are really nice to type on. I'm currently using box royal switches (basically non clicky navies) and my god it is glorious to type on
glorious
Well alright maybe glorious is a bit exaggerated but then again I'm a bit biased towards Kailh Box switches. Not as good as navies but at least I don't have family knocking at my door late at night when I use them
Mechanical low profile keebs exist now but idk if it’s your style
yeah I've seen some, its just that having used my laptop's built in keeb for so long, I'm now actually more used to this "laptop-style" or perhaps chiclet style keyboards, with no mechanical switches, just membrane low profile keys
Even though I've used mech keebs in the past, for some reason I just want to keep coming back to the "laptop style" keebs
Since you don’t game much anymore is it just for typing and stuff?
yeah just university stuff, like studies and basic usage like browsing and whatever
If so the mx mini will do fine
yeah
So yeah then the mx mini will suffice
I was also considering getting a g915 tkl
but i'm gonna go to a nearby best buy and see if they have any on display, then try it out before ordering
since the g915 is also a low profile mech kb
Good idea
and I dont need numpad hence tkl
It’s always best to try sumn expensive before you go and order it incase there are problems returning it
Yeah
it looks so fucking amazing
I was actually also considering this because I use my mechanical 60% keyboard for games but I prefer to type on a membrane or TKL for long typing
It does
yeah that last part of your sentence is why I was leaning towards a membrane over any mech kb, since I mainly need it for long typing for uni assignments and shit
anyway, imma go and try one out irl then decide
I've had my g915 tkl since it came out and it's been great. The only thing I've had to do is buy a replacement keycap set for it because one of the key broke off while cleaning it.
Logitech doesn't do rma for the keycaps. Had to buy a whole set for $40 on Amazon
im surprised that the MX Keys mini only runs for 10 days on a single charge (with backlight on)
but then 5 months without backlight
They're specific keycaps. Can't do any low profile keycaps
like how much charge does the backlight take lmao
10 days vs 5 months? like bruh what
I hate when companies do that
Forcing you to buy their likely overpriced stuff
The thing is they don't even sell replacement stuff
bruh
Bruh
You can't buy the keycaps from logitech
also why is it even proprietary, why would they not make it compatible with any low profiles?

other than money ofc
like do they have any reason other than 💰 to make it proprietary?
for once I actually understand why so many people prefer apple's magic keyboard
chiclet style membranes are superior for long term typing
This has been the best keyboard I've typed on tbh. Even with the keycaps flaw
I wish they had the white version when I bought mine
Anyone looking for a new keyboard on Amazon?
Link for anyone interested 😅https://amzn.eu/d/gSH6jN5
ayo I was tryna cop the MX Keys anyway, thanks man I'm gonna order this one
damn, after reading the 18 reviews, I am disappointed that it is some type of PC accessory, and not footwear as I hoped it would be
French layout model
I’m tempted to order it to see wether I get a keyboard or a shoe
Lmao do it
Take one for the team
Shoe
Keyboard
Keybored
Shoeboard
thoughts ?
yuh dont really like cables

Keychron Q2 is a fully customized 65% layout mechanical keyboard packed with all premium features and unlimited possibilities. Q2 is an all-metal keyboard that allows customizable capabilities for every key switch, keycap, knob, and stabilizer. It’s made for your personalized experience and a more comfortable typing experience.
It was too good for Amazon
I'm second guessing lubing my switches at all
i need something with a dongle
y
i need one that has a wireless dongle
akko has keyboards that come with a dongle for 2.4 gHz wireless
they don't have what i need
Ok
i need it to have a knob,be metal,and have 2.4ghz
"A lot of people describe the experience of typing on a plastic keyboard as rattily or unstable. The key strokes have more bounce to them and overall do not feel as sturdy." https://switchandclick.com/guide-to-mechanical-keyboard-cases/
also metal is bad for wireless
And after that same people complain that tray mount is shit and gasket mount is the best ...
Cause tray mount is too stiff even with plastic case
And now they say that it's too bouncy ...
Why don't you just try it for yourself
Ratly and unstable is quite bullshit and really keyboard specific
cause i aint rich lmao
you can resell
you can sell it's just an make a listing and wait
if you really just need a keyboard get a membrane logitech one and look for the one mech you want
Budget boards like this really do not maintain their value, wouldn’t recommend buying with reselling in mind
is there a channel for mouses too
It was the last one in stock lmao
oh haha
https://youtube.com/watch?v=AgwbIXNbVFs&feature=shares
Is this a good tutorial on how to lube my linear switches?
Hey everyone, today I wanted to share with you my experience lubing Gateron Milky Yellow for the first time. It was a fun and entertaining process. Thanks for watching the video.

I am just doing my sketches and keyboard which have no current modifications to them
If any what modifications should I do
Should I do any mods like replacing the stabs or cutting the stems
I do hear pinging when clicking my space bar and other keys that have stabs
please don’t cut the stems off your stabs
you wanna cut the extra legs, if there are any
You wanna clip (if needed, lube and balance the stabs, anything else isn’t really needed for the stabs
There’s guides for this all on yt.
Its not
It's complicated
Is the qk75 good for future modifications?
I think I am going to replace the stabs with the linked ones, and lube and balance them.
https://prevailkeyco.com/products/durock-plate-mounted-stabilizers?variant=41994081009918
It has a option to get clipped stabs as well so I am going to do that
Wait does the keychron k2 have plate mounted or screw in stabilizers?
yeah
pretty sure any qwertykeys or owlabs can last you long enough for further modifs
unless they decide to invent a new switch socket type
My dumbass meant to say the zx75
Ye
it has a few flaws with the bluetooth iirc regarding the range being no more that 2m or something like that
but other than that it‘s a solid board
looks p clean as well
By Bluetooth, does that mean with or without a dongle?
j throwing this out here but uh, not the most reliable source, if you are on a budget esp j grab one of the akko plastic boards if you need 2.4
My budget is 200 usd
Also what are ur thoughts on the zx75
then i would recommend waiting and picking this up in a bit
I am intrigued
I think Pro is an exaggeration but still a nice update to Q series
It doesn’t have a wireless dongle tho
I just assume Pro doesn't mean processional 99% of the time
Are knobs actually useful on a keyboard?
It depends person from person really
I personally find knobs tacky and never use them
But another person might love them and use them often
What are some 2.4ghz dongle having keyboards that are black, aluminum, don’t have a knob, and are under 200 usd then
Oh sorry for the ping
It’s fine
Metal and wireless don’t really mix, qk75 would be what you’re looking for though
Why don’t wireless and metal mix?
It can reflect wireless signals, and mostly because custom keyboards don’t do wireless
In electrical engineering, electromagnetic shielding is the practice of reducing or blocking the electromagnetic field (EMF) in a space with barriers made of conductive or magnetic materials. It is typically applied to enclosures, for isolating electrical devices from their surroundings, and to cables to isolate wires from the environment throug...
Now that’s some good shit
Holy shit
I nearly accidentally bought a keyboard
I wasn’t looking at my phone
And when I look down I see my bank card and it asking for my Face ID for Apple Pay
Lmfao I quickly moved my head away and turned it off
Close call
should’ve went through with it
My keyboard is arriving today
😁
Now I have to wait till Christmas until I get my PC and monitor
Gg
What keeb is it?
AKKO CS Jelly Blue , 3068B Plus Black&Pink
Is there a big difference between metal and plastic keyboards?
it depends on how they are designed
if I had a case made of bent steel vs a case made of machined ABS or something, the abs one would feel higher quality to me
how've you been doing
I've just been spending money on unnecessary shit for my amp 🙃
keyboard smells burnt rubber on one side, i think it died :c
it types for a few seconds after plugging it in, but after that it just dies?
Haven't heard of that but it sounds damaged yeah, did you do something different to it?
no, but i saw 3 other people with the same board having the issue
i worry i might have jumped too quickly onto the gb lmao
i hope they respond to this issue, since i quite like this company's products
It was litro more than I had in the bank
I’m broke as shit rn

I’ve been better but I’m working on it
Spending money on unnecessary shit is always good
I have 3 hhkbs now
Sounds healthy 👍👌🙏🫡
snow hhkb so lit
Are those metal or plastic keyboards
Plastic
Are they stable?
If anybody here is in U.K., there is a seller on eBay selling black hhkb pro2 for an amazing price. I recommend strongly.
Yeah
Hhkb is my backpack kbd
I’ve taken it to all my classes since I started uni
So amazing
So it’s not like wobbly when u type?
Nope
Why do you assume boards with a plastic chassis will be uneven
got to rationalise spending $$$ on a keyboard somehow
instead of just accepting that its not at all worth it
nothing wrong w thinking something isnt worth it and still proceeding to buy it - i have many many alu kbds
I'm not opening it until Christmas though.
I'll get a new PC and monitor on christmas
Jelly Blue
They’re loud !
Built a switch tester
Linears and clickys
Hopefully useful, though tempted to keep it without caps and use as decoration hehe
you're uk?
Yep
mechboards are good guys. i bought a lot from them in my early days of the hobby.
First time for me, guy emailed me as he only had 1 of the 2 durok stabs i ordered, v quick
i got my first ever board i built from them haha
a helidox / corne
back in april 2019
nice! i've heard keychron good
first time theyve sold a fully assembled uk iso q1v2 as far as i know
i dont have any iso kbds rn
that keycap profile looks interesting
i thought xda is flat. but its been years since i followed stuff like that
i only use cherry and dcs
i was using MT3 on the q1 until last week, now ive switched it to the cherry set you see there
i'm not a huge fan of clone sets
but i also recognise its more a fault of the manus, not the buyers
that was the MT3 ones
very nice
yeh getting uk iso keycap sets is a nightmare
the olivia clone im using there is actually quite nice, i got some other sets that were awful and sent back
rn i'm using a bit of a mix of cherry doubleshot and dyesub, bsp dyesub, and dcs dyesub lol
i have a Domikey Astronaut All in One set on the way
which keybaord
i was very 'gotta be pbt' but then i tried those MT3 sets which are ABS

i have a few abs sets - mostly og doubleshots, and a few dcs sets
its a shame how expensive og doubleshots are now. they used to be such a great value lol
this is my couch keyboard that im using right now to type this
tai hao oem profile shine through
not many good shine through caps really
but tai hao do ok, they're pbt too
i have some led indicator caps but no shinethrough legends
since i watch movies in the dark, need shine through legends
just learn to touch type 😌
it was cool. i prefer more normal layouts these days now though
yeh
id be interested in trying out the keychron alice layout board
i used to use a microsoft ergonomic bac in the early 2000s
never used a proper split or ortholiniear though
i dont like alice layouts, i think that split kbds need tenting
trying to find an ortholinear keyboard i like is pain right now, id buy a planck and get it over with but i cant seem to find one
ah never mind, ez was the keyword i was missing it seems
ez
I just heard that plastic keyboards sucked
who told you that
whoever told you that has either only tried shitty keyboards which happened to be plastic, and used that to aid in their conclusion that "therefore all keyboards which are plastic suck"
or they have way too much money invested in the hobby and need to justify it to themselves and others by pretending that keyboards are only good if they're made out of solid metal
Most keyboards have a plastic shell lol
even in the 80s
Oh ok
Cause someone in a video said that plastic keyboard are unstable, bouncy and bend when typing ... so now cause of that he's set on an alu keyboard but wants 2.4gHz wireless.
i have boards worth stupid amounts and i'm still more than happy to use plastic kbds
Because some fool forgot to put the steel backplate inside, or didn't attach it right
you dont have to justify frivolous purchases by pretending that any cheaper options are objectively worse
Just need a wireless dongle capable black(with rbg) hot swappable keyboard
"buy once, cry once"
Most likely ... I don't really care about that video tho
That’s what I did buying my pc build parts
And that’s what I’ll do when I buy the 4090
Try to focus on the peripherals as well, vs just computing power.
I pointed you towards keyboard that has the dongle you want and that are black
For the price they are quite good ... and if you wait for boxing day they will probably be on sale
And the gpu market rn isn't the best.
Just got this lil guy in the mail
I'm not 100% sure how to feel about it. It's super light and the sound is very muted. which is a good contrast from my other one, but the keycaps that it came with feel not amazing and I don't like how prone to fingerprints they are
Did it have a wireless dongle?
.
Also I’m kinda aiming for a 165-200 usd one
I misread it lol I thought I saw knob
Sexyyy
my mouse wont click while im holding a key down on my msi laptop keyboard what do i doooooo
if i'm getting a keychron v1 base, how many switches and keycaps do i need?
About 80
But get 90 tbh
Getting an exact number and breaking a switch is a real shame
No
Tf
Trying to do that now lol
Anyone know a good 10keyless keyboard? I don't use numpad but I use arrow keys and delete keys etc... RGB preferred. Got a corsair k70 lowfire or whatever (I'm not arguing keyboards with anyone) just looking for one someone has that they like
I like my Keychron Q3. It's probably not the best by any means; but it's solid, reliable, and gets the job done.
budget?
Anywhere from 50-200 is fine. I've had this one near for about 2 years and I like it and all, and I like the (Cherry MX RED) switches (I think theyre cherry mx read) but I would like possibly in the future for something without the 10keys.
US*
q3 works
if you want cheaper, keychron v3 also works
if you need wireless, keychron k8 pro works
it's all coming up keychron lol
alternatively if you never intend to mess around with your board with mods and such, leopold are really really really nice prebuilts
I feel liek I'd mess that stuff up lol
Do I have to buy own keys/switches for keychrons?
What’s a really good keyboard under 100
I’m not looking for modded or anything, just a clicky gaming keyboard
I don't mind the keychron boards? some models come with qmk and work with via
@quick flower no but you can buy it as a bare board..
you can buy it preassembled so you don't have mess anything up
I've recommended you the keychron v4 maybe 2 times now, at this point if you're ignoring advice buy a razer
What keycap profile should I try?

Ok
astro you remember that server with the orange helpers
ofc ofc
whats new
it crashed and burned all within the span of a hour or two
for in-stock?
fuck everyones name is white
God damm
where do you live
United states
you gotta stop asking like that lmao
taobao has really cheap pbt clones
i asked someone where they were based
and they got all confused
so ha
did yall all move over to a new server
or smt
or did it die die
moved but I don't think i can invite you yet
it's still being set up
nah j glad yall managed to salvage it
get some good mods and a trusted owner i nand it shud lasst for a while
the sbub guy is owner of new thing
I checked it, I’m getting the keychron
cool, buy the blues if you like clicky
Or if you want to annoy people around you
yeah this was on sale for 50$ at one point
so lit
Was?
Am I going insane?
Because it clearly is right now
Is it a standard keyboard matrix where you have Power go to "Input" on your switches and then the "Output" Of each switch then sends along the row and column tied to that switch, which then goes to the MCU
Is this efficient?
wha..?
I am overcomplicated which results in me confusing people?
yes and idk
i assume hes talking about hand wiring keyboards
wtf why do i type better after months / weeks of not being able to type properly like when my hand / elbow is injuredd
i'll get 90 kaihl whites then
is there anything specific i need to look out for in terms of compatibility when i'm buying key__caps__?
Just buy whatever looks more comfortable
And of course use logic, low profile keycaps that are paper thin will not fit on standard mx stems
you can send any you find here if you’re unsure
oh kitting too, you’ll have to make sure the keycap set you’re buying can accommodate 75%.
