i respect people who solder but i will never
bit with the leaf is facing south
Nah they are north facing on my early version
Next week end if I can dig it out

I don't use it cause I hate the cherry profile that much
if you hate it that much I can take it off your hands
full nylon cherry switches are gud
Nicee
Idk guys those gmk keycap 😏
hi nossta
Wsp 👋
Hi!!
really sucks when you fly to where your keyboard is and find out its still not available to pick up yet
U flown for a keybaord?
no not just for that but since im already here i really hoped i could pick it up at the same time
save some shipping hassle
I don't know much about keyboards, but I want a good not to expensive (100$-160$) prebuit hotswappable keyboard. I also has to have a swiss french layout because I live in europe.
ok yeah iso
Do you have any recommendations?
How do you even type the other accents on keys like the èü key
iso
probably keychron or akko
yes
You sure?
Bro I love my laptop pls I don't wanna destroy it my father got it for me and it is very expensive for me
I need more answers
uh huh, just make sure it dries out properly
99.9percent good?
Isopropyl alcohol
yes isopropyl doesnt contain any water in it
you can dip your keyboard into it if you want
Kk
i mean laptop
But it's flammable right
yes.... its alcohol.
What if it reaches the capacitor and then my laptop is on fire
i hope you know that was an exaggeration
That means it won't catch fire right
dude its alcohol of course its gonna catch on fire
dont dip your laptop into isopropyl
But then it's not safe right
K
I can drop small drops and let them go under the keys right
Cause my keys are sticky
A person with common sense also won't know that bro
common sense as in dont put your laptop into any sort of liquid
U said it lol
:/
ipa is conductive so definitely dont do it while its turned on
I LOVE IPA!!!!

No
If your here for a shiddy keyboard that will let you scrape by
This ain’t the place we only like mechanical keyboards lmfao
Topre fans, buckling spring fans, space invader fans, alps fans after hearing this slander
Bro I dropped coke on my keyboard
I managed to save my laptop but they keys are sticky now
I can use isopropyl alcohol right?
Well make sure it's not on, and try not to use it for a day. Wiping with isopropyl should be fine but taking the keycaps off and washing them separately with soapy water would be better
If you want to prevent the keyboard electronics from corroding with soda it'd be best to take it apart if you can and wiping the PCB with isopropyl
It’s a laptop keyboard selix..
Oh, thought they were saying they plugged a keyboard into their laptop since they were able to save the laptop
Would you guys say this is the best option for my price range 65 pounds.https://www.amazon.co.uk/ROYAL-KLUDGE-RK68-Hot-Swappable-Stand-Alone/dp/B08G4ZB9GL/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2BP0MIGDUPS3P&keywords=ROYAL%2BKLUDGE%2B4.4%2Bout%2Bof%2B5%2Bstars1%2C328Reviews%2BRK%2BROYAL%2BKLUDGE%2BRK68%2BHot-Swappable%2B65%25%2BWireless%2BMechanical%2BKeyboard%2C%2B60%25%2B68%2BKeys%2BCompact&qid=1670880202&sprefix=%2Caps%2C2322&sr=8-1&th=1&psc=1 I want a small-ish compact white rgb keyboard Mechanical, is this the best one?
It's on -13% as well.
Ping me with response as I will not see other messages
is this years discord keyboard smaller than last
its smaller and still expensive as shit
and still not worth
Yeah, it’ll work.
Sometimes you can disassemble a keyboard from a laptop ... check if you can with yours ... that would be the first step.
Second step is to try to clean it the best you can with isopropyl alcohol 99% ... but before check if the key legend are altered or fade with the alcohol.
Let it dry for at least one day and check if the cleaning worked well before reassembling. If the keycaps are removable that will make the process easier, but I doubt they are.
You can also check how much is a new keyboard for your laptop and just get one brand new.
Love that I have a weird ass typing style where I barely use my pinkies and don't recenter my hands over the home row and I still type 80-85wpm with 95% accuracy
Yeah lotta people don't learn standard touch typing just go by habit. If it works it works
Fuck no

I’m back
oh
welcome
You know a better one?
Hi back
I have dell vostro 5620 laptop bro is the keyboard detachable
Basically this is a typing format for 170-270wpm
i learned to type with just my pointers and get like ~65-70 wpm
how do i type faster my friendss are bullying me with their 150 XD
yeah makes sense
RED PANDAS LET'S GOOO
?
he talking about person avatarbbfb
whats a place where i can sell my keybroad
Why
im also not sure how much to sell it for
new one
its the gmmk pro
it’ll for sure sell for less than you put into it
What’d you build it with
150$ seems about the right price
Maybe 200$
But seeing as gmmk pros are constantly on sale
:/
Like 100% of drop boards are shit
whats a good one then
Only ones that aren’t are the ones who aren’t made by drop but sold on drop
75% or 80%
More specific please
white hotswap volume knob
rgb
+1 for Q3
Has that
ok
If you’re buying Q1, make sure you’re buying Q1v2, not v1.
whats the diffrences
V1 had some issues v2 solved
With plate issues, ping issues in the case and some other stuff I can’t list off the top of my head
You don’t have to worry about that with any other Q board though, just the issue with Q1 since it was the first one
like q3 and q1
Just Q1 had 2 versions
All the other q series will be the same to Q1v2
Aside from obvious dimensions and sound differences because of size
In short, don’t buy Q1v1, any other Q series board is fine.
So I’m trying to figure out what type of switches make this sound. Basically is sounds super deep and looks like a lot of people call it a “thoccy” sound.

i cant do the q 3
why?
i want barbones to put boba u4s but it dosent come in white
no switches are inherently thocky, it matters a bit more what you put into the board
Hm ok
You can also do something like Tiger80 lite, no rgb though
Well is there a switches that isn’t clicky like blues
Most Linear/Tactiles will be a lot quieter
I like the 2 extremes lol. Super clicky and that super deep sound
Do you have a build planned out
what’s your budget overall?
It’s meh
@glossy sandal why is drop ctrl bad
I’m not planning to build anything rn
Ik just trying to figure out the switches and stuff
That’s like the only review I’ve heard negative abt it
there no white rgb keybroads bruh
I currently have an rk61
Not talking about the rk84
or at least i cant find any
Responding to rainy
https://youtube.com/shorts/V9bWfXNfhHU?feature=share the 3rd keyboard is the sound I like

Ohhh
yt sound tests are like the most inaccurate representations of keyboard sound ever
Well I’ve seen a lot of those types of sounding keyboard so it’s prly somewhat the same irl
i was thinking the gmmk 2 but some ppl in this sever said its absolutely shit
I mean that isn’t really what is generally thought of when people say “thocky”
It is.
In the end keyboards are all preference
if you’re down for 75% there’s a couple options
sure
So you gotta take everyone’s advice with a grain of salt
No, it is objectively shit compared to everything else for the price
Ik75 might be your thing
Also if you’re willing to wait, zoom75.
[IC] Zoom75 - A 75% kit with Modular Lcd/Knobs/Badges, BT/VIA, Per-Key RGB
how long of a wait
A couple months
ik this might sound werid but is there like a more premium ver of this
ok
@glossy sandal i think i found it
They sell a barebones version of this board iirc
Yes they do
In the kit
Nevermind, they don’t
is this a better ver
Not by a large margin
it looks nicer ig

Toss a coin
i mean there no diffrence right
its out of stock and its black
ill just go with this ig
That’s what I recommended you buy out of the two..
oh
God that looks so hot
I'ma buy it just for the keycaps

What do you think of the city tester 84
k
We are young we run green
Ngl bro I might just sell my keyboard in a year then just buy gmmk
I’m always watching
Discord gave me a blanket

Discord is a cold place

Lowkey feeling weak asf rn
What happened?
Just got out of surgery
Ohhhh
Or well like 6 hours ago
Yeah that sleep medicine
body feels cold and I feel weak
Anesthesia moment
what about you nossta?
I took a double dose because I could still feel it
And I didn’t wanna feel it
yeah they asked me before hand if I felt it and I said yeah and they gave me more
Bruh
They gave me the first time but I could still feel it so I asked for more
Gotta be careful too much can be bad
Still asleep but worth
Yeah
I didn’t feel a thing during the surgery
W
Fr
I was awake the entire time and it was weird
just watching them doing what they needed to
What were they doing it I can ask
something on my leg
what!
Hopefully I don't have to go through any actual surgeries
what was wrong with your throat?
mine was quick, 20-30mins
My leg hurts like hell and making my entire body feel weak asf though
I don't think it was a surgery really I don't remember what it was for, probably for allergies
It'll heal hopefully
Hot
That’s Fahrenheit nossta
What?
Huh
lol youre a californian massive L

What type of switch is easiest to get used to for someone used to membrane keyboards? I'd assume linear, but thought I'd ask anyways.
Topre
U4s
I know that too well, went through like 6 surgeries to fix my leg after a car accident when I was in like 3rd grade or so
U4t>
Well subjective but U4 is closer to membrane because of the mush added to make it silent
U4ts aren't that close to membrane lol
if someone wants silent and tactile then the U4 is imo the best switch out there
tacit are decent too but U4 is imo nicer still
its a mid tactile
Nah they're pretty great, and top 1/2 for silent tactiles (haven't tried heartbeat switches)
Heartbeats are linears
Haimu’s the manu
Haimu silent tactiles are silent whispers
Ah yes, that's what I meant lol. But either way those aren't mushy from what I heard so U4 would still be better for the membrane like request
membrane > mechanical
simply false
Idk if this is a bad joke or u srs?
are you /j or /srs?????
Let’s go!!
Hell yeahhhh
What is a switch
Button
Thing that goes bong boing
spring in plastic shell go brrrr
T O B R E
So... in general tactile switches will be most similar in feel to membrane keyboards, but some are more similar in feel than others, and the specifics are up for debate, partly because not all membrane switches are identical in feel, they just tend to be similar because they have a similar construction to each other.
Is that correct or am I missing something?
Not quite, membranes are all pretty similar imo, essentially they're mushy tactiles (bad ones to be clear). You'll have difficulty finding mushy tactile switches though so that's why I suggested U4, I believe it has silicone for lower sound that also makes it mushy.
Thanks for the switches bro 🙏 sent all the way from L.A.. @pastel drift @pastel drift
Imagine they don’t fit
Show
Silent tactiles will be the most of semblance to membranes yes
I’d like to say though that linears perform the most like what you’d expect from a keyboard
Why would u like to return to “membrane” anyways?
In any case, both linear and mushy tactiles shouldn’t be offensive compared to what you’ve tried in the past
I currently have a membrane keyboard since I use a laptop, that's why I'm asking.
My cannon keys mystery keycaps came
I got grayscale
Bruh my brother got a 80 dollar set
Tactile or bust
Nice
Could’ve gotten worse
Like Hydrangea

I don’t think laptop keyboards are membrane, at least not all.
I mean there’s chiclet, butterfly and so on and so forth
at least it isn't bow
not the 35 dolalr one
that doesn't have a numpad
which i need
are you sure
i mean it's not included
I thought you got yellows?
it's an addon for the bakeneko
completely optioncal
it wouldn't make sense for it to be included in the bakeneko kit because then it wouldn't really be a barebones kit
basically the same aside from stem color
and spring weight
it's heavier
Nvm
now that i think about it, we never confirmed if nossta's board is even hot swappable, he never told us
@twilit flare
Yessir @onyx summit
They are noob changed the color
L
Yeah I bought the keyboard without checking if it's hotswap then bought switches 💀
yes it would
you wont even see the switches lol
so why does it matter if I changed the color lol I just didn't want yellow
i got the other golden accessory
it was agains tressful
for the first part though
rip
Only took 5 hours
Was it important?
because he is a busy person
I'm not on discord all the time dang
Cap
Phil's alt
.
Like I said I wouldn't buy a keyboard without checking if it's hotswap after searching for switches for hours lol
pro moments
Unless Amazon scammed me
2 more days and of course they're the worst
Are you sure
i have so many tests
Noooo
I had 2 tests today
Keyboard literally came with keycap puller and switch puller
Average school week be like
I forgot to do like 3 assignments they might pile up
This could be the end
I underestimated my classes
Skill issue
Damn shoulda got lighter switches but they're all so expensive don't know if I got the right choice
Wait what
👁️

i got youuu
Let's go
bro 💀
I think they'll fit I'll have to do everything over the weekend or Christmas break
jev

frog?
did you know pbt feels better then abs /s
Pog
What keyboards do yall have?
Keycron v2, nk65, nibble 65 and xd64
Akko 3068b multimode, durgod fusion, kemove snowfox, gmmk tkl and soon akko acr pro68
When I get a job im spending every paycheck on keyboards
seems like a poor financial decision

someone I know actually felt this way and went through with it
Wait are you serious
Yeah
Hi im looking for a new keyboard TKL with red switches (under 100€) any recommendations?
Keychron V3 @cerulean talon
+1 on keychron v3
can u tell what symbol is this its the 1st time i see it
Oh sorry
So the bottom row goes
Ctrl, windows, alt, spacebar, alt, function, ctrl
oh ok thx u
It's command for Mac. Keychron includes Mac and windows keycaps
command for mac
My System76 Launch is said to be delivered tomorrow
a system what now
Oh that’s weird.
It’s like a exploded and not exploded 75%
Odd
Yeah it's an interesting design (especially with the split space bar). I have it configured for Kailh Box Royals switches
are there good keyboards for 80€?
That system 76 launch is really nice ... but damn it's expensive
What’s so nice about it?
Reading a little about it it’s a pretty standard board layout aside and the usb hub
Check out keychron v series https://keychron.uk
They’re all pretty much the same board apart from layout

Yes
Hi, so i have a GK61 which works fine but the software to control it doesnt recognise that the keyboard is plugged in, is it a software thing or a hardware thing? Also I am using a coiled cable but have tried it with a regular usb-c cable. Feel free to @ me on reply 🙂
keychron v3 just came in, is a pinging on key release normal for red switch
Working on a 3d printable keyboard case with 18650 battery for max ~7 months of battery life!
Only missing a good way to attach the battery holder
Can I get a sound test?
I don't know why it would do that
I've got a barebones v1 so
Might be the switches
it's not like a really high ping
more like a rattly one
i swear it was pinging worse earlier, hmm
aight
Why tf do u need battery life that high 😭
no reason really, though if I run with the 36 leds on that, battery life goes to 6 days
wait actually what board is it?
Ferris Swoop
ah it looked like corn until i realized corn doesn't need a battery
I mean mine doesn't either right now, doesn't even have support for wireless, gotta switch MCUs
wait can corn take wireless i think i might've brain fart
do you mean Corne?
then I don't see why not, granted you put a wireless MCU in it
though most people use a 110mah battery that fits nicely under the MCU
mines 3600mah max
i love my ble choc Planck clone
it's so cute
it came with the most adorable battery
double checked, it's the 110mah
yeah also you can switch it easy right
awesome
i wanna design a small board with wireless sometime, mostly because i can bulk order pcb and whatever to save costs maybe so i feel less nervous about taking mine outside
then again how much do i value my time assembling
Only slight problem I have to think about is how I'd disassemble the keyboard afterwards when the wires to the battery are soldered in
This has been my first keyboard build
its still a bit cursed and incomplete
For me that's the usb hub that's nice about it
Also when it came out there wasn't a lot of board like that
I basically just have colemak-dh and then the thumb clusters to access symbol layers and so on
but even then I only have like half the symbols right now lol
nope haven't heard of it
quick guide i always have up rn since im still learning it
but i love it so far
looks like your standard map to me
Don't think so, layout is qwerty/colemak etc and map is what you posted
i mean the layers
and what combination of keys you use to input a certain keystroke
is it standard to use layer tap to access symbols/numbers?
ig with that few keys that makes sense
you mean a toggle between layers?
no? layer tap, not toggle
I do that for gaming but everything else is hold
hold for layer, tap for key
oh right
I haven't used that myself but I think it's fairly common. Some like it and some don't
ig it also has homerow mods
the thumb clusters are the layer switches and the homerow is mods
has all the keys of a tkl
terminology hasn't been engraved into my brain yet
quick search feels people generally use the layers as hold on their own key
and the del, bsp, ret, esc, tab, on the sides
sounds about right
that doesnt seem like what miryoku does
its fun, id give it a try, theres even a mod that lets you use a thumb cluster of 2 if you dont have a clicky knob
mostly like it because it lets me sync my maps
without having to constantly reimplement
what would be the absolute cheapest way to get a 40% ortho? pref choc/bluetooth? if i dont mind trying my hand at designing, would that be a good option? it seems like ordering the pcbs myself and doing assembly could be the cheapest per board?
If you're in the EU, I would recommend checking out splitkb.com, I would've bought Sweep pcbs from them if I didn't build this Swoop a bit before their Sweep came out
Splitkb.com, for your ergonomical split keyboard kits and cases.
not in eu + not looking for splits
O
i have a split i have my eyes on :D
I have no idea then, I haven't checked out any non split small boards
i guess i also kinda want a trackpoint/microcontroller in the middle so id prob have to design my own regardless bleg
I'm sure somebody out there has designed something like that
hard enough finding just a trackpoint mod :/
idk if im tripping but these cherry profile keycaps don't have any interfernce with my north facing led keyboard
just sounds like spring ping
Isn’t that just corcut36/46
Ah Nevermind I didn’t see the bit about ortho
stagger makes me unreasonably annoyed lol
Ortho makes me uncomfortable
Too clustered for my liking
Even if it’s the same amount of keys, the manner in which they’re placed makes them appear clustered to me
imagining a 40% where all the edge caps are spacebars rn, making it the size of a 100
Ew
I quite like the sprh and keyboards like it, it relieves some of the issues I have with ortho
It really is so pretty
oh thats pretty neat
Only thing i would change is the split backspace and backspace before those two keys
i mostly want a cheap small keyboard that also fits my wants
I like big aluminum cases and polished weights
So I can’t quite share the same sentiment
id probably like the sprh for my main pc one, but i wanna travel with an ortho without fear of losing like 100-200 dollars worth of keeb
tbh prob could find some stuff on mech trades or whatever the sub is
not contribute to e waste lol
but then i probably wouldnt tick all the boxes
r/mechmarket
thax
I’m sure you could design your own, I’m unsure if there’s designs like what you’re looking for floating around though
Closest thing I can think of is the sugar glider
Is there a cheaper alternative to a 72 switch tester? like $70(AUD) seems a bit aggressive just to workout which switch I want.
Well it can have no interference when you get the right switches
i don't think jwk t1s are long pole
it's not only about long pole, it's also about the shape of the top housing
Also interference can usually be solved with only a sheet of paper so it's not a big deal
3d print yours
Question. I have a keyboard that’s usb type c. I also have a usb c cable that’s usb c to usb a but a usb c to usb c cable (basically a MacBook Pro charger) which do I use/which is faster? Usb c to usb c or usb c to usb a? Thanks.
Doesn't matter much the speed of the cable when it comes to keyboard
Use whichever is more convenient
Gaming cables
i wonder if someones tried to make a triple split keyboard, like the split kb equivalent of an n64 controller
like a 70% that connects to 40% split halves, converting them into a numpad and macropad, 110%
man..
i have no idea what he just said
apparently current qmk split kb code doesnt support more than 1 pair of halves, so id have to delve into the source to do it myself if i ever manage to build that
i didn't say id be using 3 light ones, i was using it as an example
Ergo silly stuff
so you want a pair of split ergos and one more macropad?
split ergo 40 but there’s a numpad in The middle
wait theyre making an aaru65?
Yeah
oh my god
Slider and shit
its beautiful
no i wanna attach 2 split halves to a 70% and treat the halves as a numpad on one side and macropad on the other
mainly for funnys
It was unrelated
.
meant to reply to this
?
kinda?
tbh now that i think about it itd prob be way less taxing to just make a split outta a 40 and 70 but i wanna code something
but also thats not symmetrical
youre using these percent things wrong
oof
a 40% is alphas only, 70%s are compact tkls pretty much
Like this but split?
okay so a 110% triple split
so youre either saying you want 2 keyboards together or you mean something else
yes
And maybe remove the tkl bit
Horrid
thanks?
seems like something wouldve made already
it’s silly, I can see some ergo people making something like it though
JP customs scene likes stuff like this, best browsing there
it's less for ergo more for modularity
like rearrange them and reflash or something, bam now it's a split alpha only and a tkl
Absolutely love this silly little scrunkly thing that jp scene made
I want the black one
those look nice to use
I probably won’t use the trackball but it’s fun to look at
i want one with trackpoint
ive seen one with trackpoint
the staggered one?
probably thinking of same line of things
Massive thing
yeah i hate everything about that except the trackpoint
L or something idk
shurg
That escape is pretty funny looking
it's modeled after thinkpad so it's long
Reminds me of old vortex boards with 2u escapes
yeah literally just thinkpad mech
all the buttons are in the same spots except probably think vantage
which is alright for a laptop board but looks funny for a mech lol
Yeah I know it’s modeled after thinkpad but still a little silly
do switches break in? like my feker matcha greens felt kinda mid at the start and now they feel alot better and sound alot better. maybe its copium or maybe im pushing away the excessive factory lube, or even something else???
yes they break in
||thats what they all say||
right.
It’ll take a little while
but yeah a few years worth of typing should break them in
you can also just dict tape it to your cars tires and drive with it at 35mph for 30 minutes
so true!!!!
i see what akira was talking about
people in this server really doesnt know whats a joke anymore
so it doesnt work with the bus :(
i dont think people put keyboard under cars
i figured it would crunch up the pcb to isolate the sound
and make it feel a bit more tactile
😄
too many levels of irony lmao
stop horsing around !!1!1!
Is this Ornata V3 a good keyboard?
its a razer fake mechanical
What about the Huntsman Mini
Yeah, but is it a lot more quite than a mechanical keyboard?
no
optical
its up to you to buy
but just know that its a razer
What's so bad about them?
youre paying overpriced cheap products, doesnt last long and poor software
So what's the best keyboard that costs 80€ or less on Amazon.de
I don't wanna spend too much on the keyboard but 100€ is fine too.
I have the redragon k530 pro and i love it its hotswappable 60% the cons are that the switches break easely and that the software is very badly developed but u can do everything u do in the software on the keyboard
redragon is ok, now youre paying cheap price for cheap products
go with a keychron, cant go wrong with them ig
Even my current gaming laptop has a full keyboard.
Do they sell on Amazon?
think so
relatively, sure
you can go even smaller
but they're the ones lacking the F-row and numpad, let's put it that way
what size are you looking for?
Nope
if you have a decent budget, Akko ACR98 might be interesting?
sadly ACR98 is too expensive on Amazon and out of stock on their own site
but their other boards are quite nice too
just a different type of mounting
stuff like 3108/3098 use traditional tray mounting, while ACR98 uses gasket mounting
I mean, they're still great boards
just don't have the flex of a gasket mount board
but that's already hard to find at that size anyways
What is El Gato 😳
"Holen Sie sich eine einfache Tastatur, die auf dem Schlachtfeld einwandfrei funktioniert. Ein tragbares, tenkeyless-Format ermöglicht den einfachen Transport der Gaming-Ausrüstung, ohne dabei auf Funktionen oder Leistung zu verzichten. Mechanische Schalter mit einer Nennleistung von 50 Millionen...
Elgato is a company bought by Corsair that makes streamer oriented stuff
it's decent, though you'd be looking at the CK550 V2 for full size
though the Akko would be better
Yes I was thinking about that too. There is a similarly priced razor keyboard with mechanical feel for a similar price
I'm pretty sure they don't have RGB
Eh, the only Razer series I'd personally recommend is Huntsman
Not a huge fan of the switches used on Blackwidow and the rest isn't mechanical
Stuff like Cynosa is just membrane with a clickbar
Mechanical is quite loud so I'd want them to be membrane like on my laptop tbh
Same in the Cyanosa V2, right
On
Yep
And because of the clickbar they're especially loud
For a bit more quiet board you're better off going with a linear or tactile switch
Clicky is always louder because it well... Clicks
But stabilisers, dampening in the board and so on all are factors as well
So membrane is the best for that?
I don't think they sell any membrane gaming keyboards without that clicky sound and feel
no youd just want a mech w linears or silent switches
whats a good keyboard 65-80% under 70usd
So this is good too?
Tactile would still keep the feel, just not the click
Purple is a clicky switch, so it would be quite loud
Why does the Cyanosa V2 have that chroma program support and the Huntsman mini doesn't
Oh okay, so I think I might get the Huntsman mini, because it's better
Honestly, Akko's tactile switches are the best you can find at this budget
They're relatively quiet, pretty cheap and gives noticeable enough tactile feedback
Huntsman wouldn't really work for you since it's either loud or offers no tactile feedback
You of course still get some feedback when bottoming out regardless of the switch, but not at the point of actuation (registering)
I can't find any in the color I like or with RGB on Amazon.de
They have a German site themselves too
They do ship from China, but pre-pay the VAT
So you shouldn't have any import fees
I haven't gotten any here in NL from the two times I've ordered from them
That's a lot of tax wow.
That means it won't come before Christmas, right?
Do they have an American website where I can order from, so I can avoid that tax
Yep, doubt that
😔
They do, but then you're liable for import fees, conversion rate and ironically still VAT
Which is even more, likely
Oh I see. The government wants to suck every but of happiness out of its citizens in Europe but okay. Don't wanna talk about this in a keyboard channel.
Didn't expect that buying keyboards is that hard 😭
Now I'm not sure if a smaller keyboard is better
No, it's just without any taxes applied, normally this is already put into the retail price
Keyboard size is purely preference
No size is better than the other
I'm gonna have to look more on Amazon, but it keeps showing me these cheap Chinese keyboards no one ever heard of.
Yeah, that's common
Something like Epomaker is by all means reputable
But there's also random rebranded cheap shit on there too at times
Aliexpress works too, since they now prepay vat as well
Downside is well... Shipping time
15 days is generally the fastest guarantee
Yeah
The French AZERTY keyboards are a lot cheaper
https://amzn.eu/d/a81ulkO how does this compare to the huntsman mini?
Spezifikationen: - 68 Tasten. - RGB-Hintergrundbeleuchtung. - Double Shot PBT-Tastenkappen. - Ihre Wahl von Akko CS Jelly Pink / Blau / Weiß Schalter. - Abnehmbare Typ-C-Schnittstelle, Bluetooth und 2,4 GHz. - N-Key-Rollover - Multimedia-Taste. -Macro-kompatibel. - Typ-C auf USB-Kabel. - ASA Tast...
They're... Two different boards essentially
The huntsman is an optical board aimed towards more competitive people
Which one feels better?
The Akko is a wired/wireless board with nicer keycaps and mechanical switches instead of optical
I'd probably lean towards the Akko here, also because it'll probably fit your needs better
Is the Akko louder?
Is Akko a trustworthy brand? I've never heard of it 😳
Yeah, they're just a smaller brand oriented towards enthousiasts
Similar to something like Varmilo
Familiar with Ducky?
Oh okay. Do people have good experiences with their stuff, in general
No
Caseking?
Nope 😅

But if it makes you feel any better, I daily a board from them, actually
Does the RGB come with a program?
This guy right here
Nice
Akko has their own software for that
Awesome
Don't think they sync well with others though, but that's not something I've looked into
Does this one have it too?
Any Akko RGB board does
If you want a fullsize, Akko 3108 is still within your budget... But is only sold with linear switches, 3084 is available with tactile switches and would be a bit bigger than the 3068 at a similar price
So those would be potential alternatives
But other than that, not really I'd say
Tactile switches?
3108 has no RGB, I think
Depends on the variation, but could be for the ones available
Clicky without the click, essentially
That have tactile switches?
Those are the tactile switch options on it
Oh
Jelly white and jelly pink are linear
You have 4 switch options in the listing from what I can see
Jelly blue, pink, purple and white
Blue and purple are tactile
Pink and white are linear
Is the one I've selected the tactile one?
It is one of them, yes
Bruh only the black&pink is in stock with jelly blue 😭😭
Then jelly blue works, no?
Black & Pink is nice
Can you check stock on the German akko website ?
They ship from HK or CN or something
They mostly ship from shenzen
It's not fully pink so I guess
it's a really soft pink
Jelly Blue or Jelly White?
Also you can have all black keys with pink legend
The pink key are the modifiers and they com extra in a bag
@elder stone this doesn't have a program to change the RGB style, I think
Blue
hey its the explody box guy
Well it depend if you like tactile or linear
looks silently at PGM
Tactile
Personally that would be blue cause those jelly white are too light for my liking
Hence 😄
Because its the quietest
Light in what way?
60g tactile force is still noticeable
Both are pretty much as quiet, tactile just adds the "bump" you also feel with clicky switches
Yeah... I'm just the type that dailies 65g+ linears
And the 40g actuation force will just make you bottom out when passed the tactile bump
I am gonna get the pink and black one then
Fingers start to cramp with 45g stuff
Sounds good
I miss click a lot with gateron yellow ... way too light for me
But not with the cherry brown ... even that tiny, mostly non existent bump prevent me to miss click
gat baby kangaroos
@elder stone thanks for the help 😁
nice
All good, enjoy it in advance
Really soft pink that if you just use all black key then appears more like cream or some weird white
Like vintage white or something
Also you can always get another keycap set in the future if you want
Nice
65% keyboard
no thats a 60%
Yes
Also the pink spacebar gives a higher pitched sound than the black spacebar
it's 65% compact
Ordered
I mean... any percentage layout has different physical layouts in the end
but that aside
Coming before Christmas which is great
yeah, Amazon is generally pretty fast
It has the page up and down key which good because cities skylines needs them
and I play that game a lot
😂
