But powrplay works aswell
yeah, no body "modifications" 😄
Its better than ur meds
and it's fun to DIY some stuff
Haha
it's also illegal here 😛 and I'd rather not involve drugs if possible honestly
same with alcohol, keep that to a minimum too - I have 0 need for it
O forgot im dutch cant relate
But u did fix ur powrplay problem rather tight if u get a nice looks mouse pad
yeah, don't really need a mouse pad that says where the charging area is either tbf
won't be too bad, it's not too small for a charging area, but for a mouse pad itself, it's pretty small
Looks cool in the first few days but after that its prob nothing
I have a SteelSeries mouse pad I really like, 90x40cm iirc, and it's clean and black, just has the annoying SteelSeries logo, and the fact that it's SteelSeries - I hate SteelSeries
the mouse pad is good though, I'll give them that
Ae amin pads with their ugly logos
I have a pad from etsy 120cm x 60
Def a recommended size
U ill never hit the edge again
I have one that's 160x80cm as well (made to fit my entire desk) 😂
Thats a but too much for me tbh
Want to see the oak in my desk
The pad looks pretty good tbh
Its a bit blurry irl but in pics it looks nice
Also got a keycron v2 last week
I've looked at this exact pad tbh, it's a nice one
Keycaps should arrive this monday
but I do like the 90x40cm size tbh, more than large enough for me
Yh its one of the first on etsy
Hmm sure what u want
I hate to hit the edge of my pad thats why i went with this size
O wait thats a old pic
I will probably also
build my own desk where I build my PC into the desk, so have a window area towards the back end of my desk top to see into the computer, and a mouse pad area under my keyboard and mouse
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/980102477020029018/1028302941620281365/D2CE59DA-9F35-4B9F-ADEA-59CB7A5C038D.jpg with the new curtains and keeb
U could but the desk would be rather thicc
at that point I will probably get a 200x90cm desk, with a 40-50cm deep mouse pad, and idk, maybe 120cm wide?
I'm fine with that tbh 😛
200x80 is th best desk size tbh
U could 120x60 since it will leave u more than enoug space for speakers and a monitor arm outside the pad
my desk right now is 160x80, and a little deeper would be nice tbh
Hmm sure do u man
yeah, but with a glass to peek into the PC build, and such, it'll be nice to have a fair bit of space to show off that awesomeness too
Dont go with a 2:1 ratio tho

Th sure
but I will have to draw out the desk in CAD anyway, so get an impression on what it looks like
I do like to see a render, sketch or anything of how u gonna make it
same, but we'll probably be in 2040 by then 😂
someone in another Discord I'm in made this
I kinda want to do something similar to this, then integrate POWERPLAY into it, and make something similar to POWERPLAY work for my keyboard as well
not because it's so necessary, but more so because it's fun and nice to have if it actually ends up working 😛
Looks great
If ur done ping or dm me with the design please
While you're at it, you could put a Qi charger there too!
Unless that's what that puck is that I didn't see at first lol
That’s not my design and mine will be different I think, and I don’t really need Qi for anything, but I might still add Qi for the sake of future proofing
What is a good Artisan mousepad that is about 35 inches by 16 inches
Can I have your thoughts on this: I program my macro PCB so that if a sensor detects something then it executes the appropriate keyboard commands to reset my PC. It could be triggered by a motion sensor, temperature, light, or a button or potentiometer, as these are all on it
no alphas at all wtf!!
wonder how one would use it
do you actually not know how it works or
just wondering what one would use it for
typing feel
the cutout is for softer touch
you mean more bending
yes....
still dumb
I mean, some people also put an entire roll of toilet paper in their keebs...
damn that looks horrible
Are there any good budget gaming keyboards
red dragons aren't awful
Are all gaming bundles bad?
They are usually not good
What are you wanting ? Mechanical, RGB or both
Like I said reddragon isn't bad - we have 2 in this house; feels nicer than my Logitech, but nowhere near as nice as some of the hobbiest builds.
However - amazon warehouse deals - open boxes or minor scratches for <50$ makes them awesome
what is the best mechanical switch that has good feel, but is quit (doesn't have to be completely silent)?
Kinda both
Would $80 be ok?
Sorry $50 USD if you use that
It has per key RGB plus your choice of gateron switch
@last crown look at this one https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/peripheral/keyboards/ck530/#image-Item3
Get a straightforward keyboard that performs well on the battlefield with the CK530 Gaming Mechanical Keyboard. A portable, tenkeyless format allows you to take your gear without sacrificing features or performance. Mechanical switches rated for 50 million clicks will guarantee your keyboard will stay combat-ready during all your long-lasting sk...
Is the Logitech g213 prodigy any good for a keyboard? I can get it for $40 new
It looks good
But it doesn't have full RGB. With some keyboards you get to control the RGB of each key, this one has five zones which you can control instead of each individual led
@last crown
I can’t find a price for it
What are your points of reference?
Topre
Now do it on 30s
kinda pointless since 99% of typing in practical situations is burst typing anyway
Just think faster
I like the cherry mx red
How do I know what do I like
I think apart from sound there is also feel
Imagine owning something that sounds good but feels bad xd
Once ur at like 100 ur p much set for any computer usgae
60+ really
It's so nuts to see some ppl who are on their computers all day who type at like 30-40 wpm
touch typing is really useful I think
It helps with note taking
or copying down anything
best wireless keyboard and mouse under £70
i mean if you are at least precise while you do it, doesnt matter if you hit 90+ at peak speed if you misstype a lot
best wireless keyboard and mouse under £70
Is this any good?
Depends. Does it have good mechanical switches and how many colour zones does it have
Probably can find a keychron for about that price
Isn’t synapse a lot more than a rgb software
Also qmk toolbox is like 536 mb
That doesn’t seem too much for software
yeah, but only for a keyboard seems excessive
The one.
Yeah but if you were to make an addendum it wouldn’t require it’s own software
Isn't that just the base package? Last I tried synapse you also had to download additional modules for their stuff
yeah but still
seems a bit much
I have this keyboard and have used it for the past year and some. I’ve liked it
the ducky one 3 has some acoustic mods
stabs are much better on the one 3
I need keyboard recommendations:
I am a programmer for the Dutch government with a completely oversecured laptop which blocks every form of bluetooth connectivity or usb-storage devices.
I am looking for a mechanical 65% keyboard WITH A DONGLE because I cannot connect any bluetooth devices and I hate cables. I need to do video calls all day long over another machine than my work laptop so I want multi-device support to easily switch between the two computers I use at the same time.
I am not able to install software on my work laptop so I cannot install software features, however I can pair the dongle on another computer and then plug it into my work laptop USB port, that way I am able to connect/bind the keyboard and use it. But if it needs any third-party software to run, I won't be able to use it... (I am not even sure if it will accept the logitech-bolt dongles. The normal Logitech dongle of my MX Master works fine)
Keychron is no option because they do not sell keyboards with Dongles... Very sad. Since Bluetooth doesn't work for me...
Anyone that has some recommendations for me? I was looking at the Logitech MX Mechanical mini but via Amazon I see that you get an ISO layout (which is very annoying as a programmer) and the reviews do not seem amazing.
Do you need mechanical, RGB or anything? And would Bluetooth plus dongle multi device connection be ok?
I mean, it has one dongle, multiple Bluetooth
i think youre looking for a dongle, not a keyboard
I prefer a mechanical, I do not need other things. I need:
- Dongle to connect to my work laptop
- Multi device support for work laptop AND personal computer
- Prefer a 65% keyboard
Dongle & bluetooth would be okay, however my personal computer does not have bluetooth. Could always get a bluetooth stick for it
also the MX mini comes in ANSI im pretty sure
Well a keyboard neets to have a native dongle, right? You cannot turn an existing keyboard into a dongle one?
KVM Switch? They are pretty expensive right? And my keyboard is like 10 years old, I want an upgrade anyways haha
i know some dongle can do that
What I mean is you can get USB switch things idk what they're called but they switch USB devices to different devices
These are KVM switches. Yes that could be a thing but these are expensive, and if I am working remote from another place with two laptops (work laptop + PC to video call) I have to carry that with me instead of just pushing a button on the keyboard to switch devices like I now do with my MX Master mouse
show me 😮
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/Bxdrxr/logitech-g915-tkl-rgb-wireless-gaming-keyboard-920-009495 I'm going to sleep now but will have a bit more of a look tomorrow
It's 80 not 65 but yeah I'll look for more
Iquinix doesn’t do 65% and I’m unsure as to how they do multi device support but they do have something with everything else on this, see the OG80 series of iquinix boards
Looks cool but the multi device is really important. I am looking to buy an MX Mechanical Mini somewhere since I cannot find any other keyboards that fit my need. This is a very specific case that i have 😅
connecting to 2 or more devices with at least one 2.4ghz dongle. The work laptop has bluetooth connectivity completely disabled and blocked. As described in my original text
I am using two computers.
One for video calling/chatting/browsing with collegues troughout the whole workday
One for programming and reading the documentation that is on my work laptop on a virtualisation with VMWare. On the "Work Laptop" That runs over a VPN and has all its bluetooth connectivity blocked.
We work over a VPN and the company cannot handle 2000 video calls over it's network so thats why we need a second device to video call. Because I need to use these two devices at the same time, I want a easy way to switch my keyboard back and forth. I do not have the proper space on my desk to have two keyboards and this works really annoying anyways. That's why I want a nice keyboard which I can connect with a dongle, because otherwise there is no way to connect the keyboard wireless to my work laptop
For example, the MX Master mouse has a function to switch between multiple connected devices. I use that now to toggle between my video call machine and my programming machine. I search this functionallity in a keyboard too. Like I found the Logitech MX Mechanical who can also switch between multiple devices. And I ask here if people have other/better suggestions than the MX Mechanical
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hyperx-alloy-origins-60-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-red-switch-linear?variant=39245890814153 thinking about getting this keyboard
how hard is it to replaces switches on a keyboard(G915)? cause my keyboard gave up on one key and it's 2 month's after Guarantee. so that sucks
Not hard, providing you can source replacement switches online, and you have a soldering iron available
Then just open it up, melt the solder connecting switch to circuit and then remove solder, solder new switch on
I purchased a 65% keyboard Glorious GMMK2 , when looking for different keycaps I assume even if its a full set of caps 114 or even more seen some that are 174 caps that its not 100% guaranteed they will work on my layout since the different size shift keys and other keys unique on a 65%?
Link the ones you’re interested in and I can tell you
Alternatively, look out for those two 1u keys to the right of the spacebar and the 1.75 right shift
Hello, I require assistance regarding my shift key stabilizer (left side)
😈
ok
so what i did was take my shift key off, and when i pop it back on, it cant be pushed all the way back down without getting jammed
Idk talk to someone that has a brain (not me)
Im trying 😢
what does the stab looks like
ah, razer huntsman v2
tkl tournament edition but i take it that they’re identical
i think you just need to press the caps down hard enough?
this looks like the one where the wire will clip into the plastic clips on the caps
oh
I do press, but it doesnt wanna come back up when i push it in
but i can try it again
im used to this style which you can remove the whole stabs out after removing the switch
yep
well, thanks for giving me the green light to push it down even harder
kinda expect that given how big the wires are and how small the opening for the stems are
Worst purchase of my life, redragon k550.
This is the second one, first one I returned because switches began to fail.
Second one, same thing, switches failing.
Never ever buy a redragon guys.
reddragon is known for just being mediocre
if you have the money go for something else
also i think its your pcb failing not the switches
My sister's redragon k552 is about 7 years old and still going strong
Mine is 4 years old and works perfectly too
My other sister's k551 is 4 years old too and works great
They are worth what you pay for and not much more ... would still take a k552 over any corsair, razer or logitech board
theyre just enough for most
Is there a good 60% or 65% wireless mechanical keyboard with backlit characters/symbols (not just backlit keys)?
I had reddragon, the best I could describe it is "good enough"
That said I recently spilled liquid over mine so I need a new one and I wanna get something a bit better
I'm thinking of getting this one
That's probably at least ok
I mean, depends if you can find one for a better price
I'm not really wild on the colours but I can get new keycaps right
How good are Logitech keyboards
Does anyone here use MT3 keycaps? What are your thoughts about them? Would you prefer to use a more standard keycap set/keyboard for gaming and use the MT3 keycaps exclusively for typing/productivity?
Mt3 is based
its meh
i have a serious question why are smaller keyboards more expensive than bigger keyboards?
Generally because small keyboard is niche
Hyper x haste or g402 or g502 which is value for money
why not a skyloong, or a royal kludge or keychron
switch lottery
Question about wireless mice well glorious model D wireless specifically when it says 71h battery life does that mean actively moving it or does that include it just sitting there
lol 10 words
I only do 10 word tests
my 60 second test is only around 140
whats the point?
nice ice
wdym lol 90% of typing is burst typing in words of 10
hmm
real world typing never requires sustained typing more than a few seconds
pointless personally
I’m sure
Cause those are way more expensive than a k552
That's not what we were discussing
still they are a better investment... redragon is just a lottery
yes and no
i dont like gambling
Well looks like we won 3 times that lottery in the family
hmm
Also not for 25 $ to 35 $
fr this... wouldnt the pcb cost less to manufacture.. also less switches... less rgb...
where you from btw...
Canada
it depends on what kind of keyboard it is
hmm
smaller keyboards usually pack more features than a big keyboard in terms of compactivity
lol its the opposite
no media keys
i saw a lot of canadian reviews on redgear
most of the reveiws were indian or canadian
TLDR big keyboards are more expensive in terms of material, small keyboards are more expensive in terms of compactivity
but theres a lot of outliers
can i buy a mecanical qwerty keyboard then buy azerty keycaps and replace the qwerty ones?
i dont think theres a difference
its a software thing
that makes three of us
you can probably change than in windows
also do you know about microsoft rewards
passive farming rewards
Nope and not really interested in that
what are the most satisfying switches?
i want a satisfying click that doesnt make alot of noise
topre
topre is great if your like tacts
A click implies noise
is it cheaper to build your own keyboard?
bruh i removed all keyboard keys to clean it and now i can get the spacebar stabilizers into place any advice?(update i fixed it!!)
no
has anyone got any good keyboard brands like akko?
quite the opposite
Akko is good
keychron also good
razer bad
i'm swapping from razer lol
i don't think i will get it again
only nice for the rgb
akko and keychron basically the best budget brands, royal kludge makes good budget boards, epomakers products are decent but there cs is pretty bad and they are shady generally so i would avoid
Whats the difference between jwk t1 durock t1 jwick t1 jwick v2 t1 black and jwick v2 t1 blue
Also how to convert a pcb mounted switch to plate mount
jwick=jwk jwick v1 is pc top housing v2 is nylon top housing, durock t1 and jwk t1 have the same exact stem (which determines tactility) but the housing and rest of switch is “better”. Dunno bout the black vs blue but i dont really think thats a thing, t1 has black housing blue stem so maybe thats it?
There is a clear op housing one for rgb to get thru so thats prob it
also you clip two of the pins on the bottom
plastic pins
bro wtf happened to good sounding keyboards like clickity and shit why are we now liking this garbage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYgoMvHhS1k&ab_channel=FinnTec
It’s like typing on a cloud
sounds like membrane ehhhh
It’s like typing on a thock thoccy cloud that is creamy smooth budget custom mechanical keyboard
Firstblood B67
Kailh jellyfish switches
Tape mod
Foam mod
Glarses I hope you are proud
It’s a very strange profile, the scoops on the keycaps are quite deep and a bit square. I’d go with SA if you want high profile keycaps.
Just bought the 35 pack of keychron Cherry MX switches, has no idea it came with the casing
Click = good but too loud
It's finntech....he was semi bullied out of a newbie style keyboard server because of half of his videos (not in a bad way bullied, but he was just embarrassed...) and it is more of a mid pitch and still soudns good
PE foam addictions
membranes are quieter than that loud thing
Is the 69 dollar razer blackwidow good?
razer blackwidow what
So I bought a RK96 and for some reason I feel like I prefer the feel of a cheapo $25 Chinese AULA mech keyboard
I mean it’s not a huge step up in quality
Then again it could just be the switches
They're both blue technically, Gateron Blue vs whatever AULA is using for their keyboards
Tho idk why the AULA keeb comes with silicon protector on all keys
What board is dat
AULA F2012, I bought it in 2016 and I still kinda love it (well for $25 I paid)
Ty
Keys ocasionally misfunction in the last year tho it could be because I barely cleaned the keeb
Bruh those screws
yeah i know it looks like ass but if it works it works
It looks like a waterproof countermeasure of sorts
Hmm, I feel like I'm making more typos with RK96
Could be you like something like topre
Maybe I should had gotten red instead of blue
Reds (linears) are probably the most inoffensive switches you can get
Hard to hate
I think you should look into topre
I think i will need to try out the switch in real life before I could decide if i want it
None of the stores I have visited had a topre switch keyboard on display
btw, my sister said she wanted a Keychron K5 (it's full sized, she wants full-sized), do you guys have any alternative for her tho, preferably cheaper would be appreciated
Can she wait?
if so she can wait for the keychron v5
it’ll come out soon enough
Keychron v series is very quickly making the k series look overpriced
The only reason I would buy k series is the pro series for wireless
any mods i can do to my razer huntsman mini to fix stabs and keep normal keys from rattling?
Bruh I just found out how impossible it is to game and type on a keyboard with no keycaps LOL I took it apart so I could solder a replacement switch
Don't try it I don't recommend
lubing or foaming
i have put foam in it and what lube would you recommend
i have tried lubing as well but it wore off pretty fast
anything to fix stabilisation on the keys?
lube the stabs not the keys
and i hope you didnt lube with wd40
get some grease from permatex
no some random silicon lube my dad had in his garage
even worse
so grease for stabs but is there any way to get the alpha keys to be more stable?
:(
you can film it maybe it helps but thats not gonna do much
film it?
don't know if you can open the razer opticals
you cant
any cheap stem lube recommendations?
for stabs or for switch stem?
then if you are confident in your ability to apply a thin coat of lube
dielectric grease, available in many auto shops
otherwise krytox 205g0 if you can
how thin if you do with dielectric grease
very thin, cause its pretty thick and viscous
prob even lower than that
for context, i bought 5g of 205g0 for both stab and switch lube and after 2 lube session with 61 switches and 4 time lubing the stabs, i still have about 2g left
okay
cause originally those lubrication are used in industrial application, which means retailers will have to buy in bulk then divide the content down to smaller size
i accidentally left my krytox to dry out :/
you can also do spray lube
superlube
though you probably destroy the keyboard if you do too much
wont spray lube get everywhere tho
is your huntsman uses optical switches?
yes optical reds
huntsmans are always optical
yea, then spray lube with superlube 31110 specifically
or any pfte based aerosoils for that matter i think
stay away from wd-40, stuff like that
those are petroleum based, and petroleum lubricants will degrade thermoplastics, which is what the switches are made of
between superlube and the 205g0 which is better?
cuz i would have to buy tons of superlube so it would be more expensive anyway
205g is better but its less effective if you dont open up the switch
wait, there is no small superlube can?
i didn't find any
oh
the aerosoil one btw
i thought yall were talking about dielectric grease
not their dielectric
why do you need to open switch for 205g
yeah the aerosol one all i found was like 500 grams
yea, how you apply the lube is different
on the opticals you can get to the stem without opening the housing
with the superlube aeorsoil, you could just jam the small tip into an opening between the switch housing and the stem to spray
since we are lubing the notch on the stem that contacts the rails inside the housing, you would have to open the switch in order to paint the krytox on so to speak
we are mainly lubing the rails here
difference before and after: spring ping eliminated, stabilizer rattle eliminated (no more shaky shaky), scratchiness lessen a lot when compared very close to my ear.
to disassemble, i use the round flat tweezer, 13A.
slid into railing from underside, after reach through the other side, pry a bit towards outside to expand the housing. next, hol...
oh right the huntsman is hotswap (technically)
So uh… if i plug my keyboard into a wall/power outlet via a phone charging adapter, is it gonna be fine for charging?
Yeah
maybe?
What do you even mean, USB a never went out
Oh you're an apple user so that's why
That explains it I thought you meant you don't use USB a at all
Yeah, the keyboard is usb-c to usb-a
so ill use some old iphone plug
was just wondering if they keyboard would explode or something...
thanks btw
Nah, the keyboard will only draw the current it needs, and the voltage to it will always be limited by a voltage regulator IC. USB devices made by professional companies have almost zero chance of blowing up when connected to any USB port unless it was previously faulty
Anyone help i want to find keyboard which is quiet max 100$
Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent full sized mechanical keyboard for $60 or less
@onyx summit i think version 1 of the blackwidow
Whats a good keyboard for 70ish dollars?
What about full keyboards?
God i hate south facing rgb
And yet some/ a lot of people goes nut if something is not south facing calling it shit cause of that ... and sometimes they don't even know why south facing is relevant
rgb gaming epic ninja
If that board above was north facing then you'd still get the backlight effect but you wouldn't have
- Led shining directly into your eye at certain angles
- Harsh light on the plastic giving you an uneven glow effect on the light penetrating the plastic
Of course it's a preference and i don't mind if you like South facing. But I hate South facing led
I just don't care about light on a keyboard or mouse
Mouse I don't rly care
Wish I had time to work on my custom pcb for keychron with North facing
I'm a big backlit key fan
i like keyboard backlighting because i am not a touch typist
I can touch type but if you ask me to hit F10 in the dark it'll take me a while
I can touch type for a little bit, but if i end up getting a finger off a key or something I have to look and reset myself lol
Also I don't truly touch type I'm p sure i use my peripheral vision for hitting the equals sign or something
south/north facing is only important because it affects switch orientation for interference with certain keycap styles ie cherry interfered with north facing
Yes I already knew
What exactly interferes anyways
Oh yeah ok one side of the switvh is shorter and more sloped
Easy solution don't buy cherry caps
does keychron sell/give out replacement legs?
i already broke mine
hate these things, they always break off and then you can't raise your keyboard anymore
wha keyboard should i buy in egypt with rgb software/no rgb for 1500 egp or so (90 dollars) can go around 2k but would perfer 1.5k, https://sigma-computer.com https://amazon.eg

im pretty sure you can just clip them back on unless its actually broken.
it’s definitely broken
the plastic is snapped
something fell on the keyboard
actually since iPhone 13
🤡
I got an 11 and the cable i got was lightning to c
really?
because i got an iphone 11 too and got usb a to lightning
and my brother with iphone 12 pro max too
only my father received a usb c to lightning with iphone 13 but no wall plug
i got mine in 2020
Ye mine had no wall plug either
dumb apple
It was one of the slim boxes
smh my head
welp
dont get anything from amazon atleast
Just want to report that the Razer Blackwidow V3 wireless is absolute crap. Can't trust those damn review sites that give it a 9/10.
you bought a razer keyboard
it's commonly known that razer keyboard and headset are crap
What is that key between del and f12
looks like a square key
but in seriousness, maybe print screen?
what do u reccomend then
this should cost less than half they re listing it at
Ok keyboard nerds, jk. I have a question. I like the quietness and sounds of the cherry reds but I love the feel of cherry blues. What keyboard should I get.
loud loud loud
if youre going custom i recommend jwk/durock silent shrimps or boba u4 silents or if youre going prebuilt try to find one of the better browns i e certain gateron browns (some suck some are good, all are better than cherry brown tho, another option for custom is kailh mute jades, very interesting switch good price. Jwick t1s are a good custom budget option so you can get a hotswap board like a ilovbee i61 or keychron kx or rkxx and just add them in
U4t are good
Cherry blues are great. Try it. You won't regret it.
Jk they're trash 😉
Jk it comes down to

Lol I just tried to solder a new switch onto my keyboard and destroyed the tracks oof
Delicious.
hello keyboard nerds
keyboard
why do you crazy people spend so much on keyboards
why people spend money on past time in the first place
thats why im here, so yk with faster processers pcs run faster, what am i getting ooutta keyboards
keyboards r dum
What about cherry browns
cherry browns are good
esp if you put the work in
cherry browns need some work to get them good
how do i find a good and cheap hot swappable keyboard?
don't intend on buying them if you don't intend to put in the work
i go on amazon i find one for 50 buck i read the reviews and already see bad ones
a little more info please
nice Dimond polish and some break in, throw in some new springs and ghv4 and you are good to go
what size do you want
is this for the whole keyboard or just a kit
whole keyboard
bump it up and you can get a keychron v4
^^ there isnt really anything good at $50
everything there is p much going be the same
out of stock :/
oh u mean the website itself
isnt the delivery going to be expensive
i live in europe
it's also on amazon
what about keychron.uk
thats almost 100 euro
there's this
wormier is decent and hotswappable
is this called a 65% one?
that's a 65% yes.
then i want a 65% instead
whats like the minimum amount i should spend for a good keyboard
that will last for a few years
I would say 100-150$
Get an ilovbee i61 on amazon fantastic board tons of potentail, use the extra 20$ to get diff switches, lmk if you need switch reccs
About 160£
and my budget was 50 euros O_O
imma have to disagree wit u on that
does a wireless keyboard always come with a USB thingy that goes in your pc
That’s 2.4ghz
man why is a keyboard so expensive
You can buy an office keyboard idk lol
found my keyboard i thnk
hmmm
i dont like the US layout tho
i always used azerty
is ducky one 3 SF
that thing is 150 euros
nvm
im paying like 100 max
very max
if i go higher
i could just buy a 1440p monitor instead
isnt it k2
No
The fully assembled version includes: ABS plastic housing The keyboard PCB, screw-in stabs, and the steel plate Double-shot OSA PBT keycaps (including Mac & Windows keycaps) Keychron K Pro switches The barebone version does not include the keycaps and switches. No discount codes can be used for V2. what is fully assembled knob
It has a knob
You can program it to stuff
Default it’s programmed to volume and pause and play
+10* bucks for a knob.
It’s 10 but okay
If it’s worth it to you then buy it, don’t buy it if you don’t need to lol
if im gonna pay more money
i want to be perfect
cuz i wanted to buy a cheaper qwerty
I personally don’t like knobs but that’s up to you
yup
and put them on that keyboard
that’s what a lot of people who buy custom keyboards do
And this keyboard is good for that
Because you can reprogram it however you want
this keyboard is very weird
Xtrfy K4
that one seems good
do green switches make more noise than blue ones?
or are they about the same
they are the same
How much you paid ?
Keychron V3 is great
can i find a keyboard with green switches that isnt razer?
get a barebones and then get switches for it
and if i get the green switches do i need to lube or do something extra besides just placing them into the keyboard
You dont need to but it would sound and feel nicer if you did, also why are you set on greens? If you like clickies you might want to try something like kailh box jades or navies
its upto you
i want crispy switches
wdym
I don't know how to custom build a keyboard
What is the flatest keyboard I can get
like laptop keyboard but for a desktop kinda flat
k3?
I saw that but its currently selling around 3.7k
no, v3 https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-v3-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40256628555865 its their new line of keyboards, cheaper slightly worse versions of Q series, better than K3 overall, has QMK, i recommend
The V3 is a fully customizable mechanical keyboard ready for any situation. It’s a great option to introduce you to the custom keyboard world. With its tenkeyless layout, QMK/VIA support, acoustic silicone pad, and double-shot PBT keycaps, the V3 is designed for ultra typing comfort and boost productivity.
on elite hubs?
Yaaa and i think on flipkart or amazon 3700
Take risk bro and save pennies
I ordered Razer deathadder white for 999 from elite hub
Yes
i would not recommend cherry switches, especially browns, in general. They are very overpriced and not great compared to others, IMO. sadly most stock board tactiles are not great but i like keychrons gateron browns and most gat browns in general
You’re looking for a low profile keyboard
has both i believe
like you can swap it
Most "low profile" ones I find have big ass keycaps still
elitehubs is safe...
flipkart is not
what do you mean by that
also i literally paid 1k for it actually... 3.5k from microsoft rewards
ok thats cool

included?
Yeah
HOLLY SHIT I FOUND THE ONE
thats cool
ye
low profile switches?
tf is that picture
Yes
kailh choc is pretty small
which switches
it looks like forcefully resized

pretty good too sofar as lp switches
My friend and i discuss many time about this mouse and many times its prices around 3700 on amazon don’t know why it’s increase now
bro 300USD is crazy
Which keyboard do you use?
any other options that are about the same size
not close to worth its got LP cherrys
lol it looks like a scissor laptop switch
its not mechanical but i personally really like Logitech MX keys
They are cherry somehow
redragon k512 for desktop... laptop one for laptop
cherrys ULP switches are very underwhelming
Ok
what layout do you want? full size 75% tkl?
Keychron has some low profile boards
They’re decent
I was building white theme set up for that i order mouse, keyboard mouse pad and other desk accessories.
Gateron low profiles aren’t bad at all
hmm
what keyboard you have?
Currently I am using 10 year old Microsoft’s keyboard
sheesh
only tthing with the keychron boards is that the mechanical gaterons are OOS rn so they only have opticals which is unfortunate but still decent
out of stock
There’s more than one no?
apart from keychron?
And I ordered red Dragon K552 Kumara white
Keychron K5 SE is an ultra-slim wireless mechanical keyboard. With Gateron low profile red, blue, brown switch. Wireless and type-c wired mode. Mac layout, compatible with Mac, Windows. Aluminum frame with full-size layout. 18 types of RGB backlight included white LED.
how much did it cost you?
3175
That is not slim
you can get one of the royal kludges from mechkeys.com for about 4.5k
17 is the max size of the chorsair one
with gateron switches
whats a good mechanical 80% apart from keychron under 120 usd
From chroma, because white version cost is three-times compared to black version on Amazon
why avoid keychron
get apple magic or logitech mx keys then, idk what to tell you here
limited availability
how
@jovial ridge
hotswappable and probably better than redragon
dunno why they dont sell these on amazon... and even if they do its like for 3x the price
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?c=171&l=product_list best board in that range if u dont care abt hotswap

can confirm, source im typing this on an RK84
I never had this website and keyboard to
i got this one on amazon for the less than the website, maybe its a regional thing
visit indian mechanical keyboard community's discord
they have recommendations on keyboards and where to get them
both are legit
and redragon<<<
imagine redragon started using good pcb and switches
atleast good pcb... and make the switches hotswappable
https://vortexgear.store/products/multix 10$ overbudget but a great option
Specifications: - Wired Version - Onboard Macro - N-Key Rollover - ANSI Layout - TKL Form Factor - Silicone Dampening Pad - Sound Absorbing Pad - Hot-Swap PCB ( 3 Pin And 5 Pin Supportable) - Cherry Profile PBT Double Shot Keycaps - Gateron G pro and Cherry switches (South-Facing) - PCB Mount Stabilizers -
i had ordered myself an mk61 from banggood (some chinese website probably like aliexpress) ... it got stuck in customs and never came

damn, havent had that happen to me yet fortunately. hopefully they had similar policies like Ali and gave you a refund?

I linked it to you earlier, here https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-v3-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40256628555865

k3 is also good
V3 is just much better
that is up to you
Any big difference
Hugely
1sec
I would only say dont get blues but the diff between red and brown is that brown have a tactile bump which gives you feedback when the switch actuates. And reds are smooth all the way down, i personally use browns but idk how good keychrons browns are. Reds are a safe bet if youve never tried mechanical keyboards before. Also its hotswappable so you can switch out the switches later
You don't lube chickie switch with a click jacket ... if you do so then just some really light oil on them so it doesn't kill the click
Probably something like that
HP USB Slim Business Keyboard https://a.co/d/7aEjFCi

id advise against that, tbh i think logitech MX keys or similar would be better for cheaper but you do you. I think 280 for a kind of meh keeb will not be worth
I want it because of the size not the keys tbh, its 11mm to 17mm where else can you find that
…in keyboards like apple magic, logicmx keys, something like that hp business keyboard, custom kailh choc board
That hp is most likely membrane with scissors switches
yeah, i mean if you are super comfortable with spending that much on that keeb go for it, but i just do not think itll be worth
it's totally not worth it imo
If you have wrist problem then yeah sure go for it ... but besides that it's really not worth it
iirc the cherry “ultra slims” were basically scissor switches
is the blackwidow v3 worth it?
theres better boards at the price
im looking for an AZERTY, 75% with green switches
keychron V1 with blues might be good for you
is that available in azerty?
i mean not stock but like you just move the keycaps and change the settings in windows
oh i see what your saying
do you think you could just do the uk iso k8 version here: https://www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-uk-iso-keyboards/products/keychron-k8-wireless-mechanical-keyboard-uk-iso-layout# and get azerty keycaps elsewhere? Keychron doesnt have azerty versions unfortunately, i dont know many boards that do
Keychron K8 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard (UK ISO Layout). Tenkeyless Layout. Wireless or Wired. and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. Connect up to 3 devices. 15+ RGB Backlight
@cobalt eagle lmk if that would work
how much do i need to spend on the keycaps then
good quality ones
are Kailh Choc Low Profile White switches clicky?
MSI Vigor GK50 Low Profile TKL
i think im going for that one
yup they are
where can I buy the switches alone
then i think i found my keyboard
do they make less noise than blue switches?
@latent blaze
poor beans with the @ spam lol
so something like this
Dunno, probably similar i dont look at clickies much
Theres tons of retailers, heres a list of vendors, http://mechkeys.me/VENDORS.html
Thockpop is pretty good for USA
i recently bought from them
https://youtu.be/gz7IF3KjxSY heres a soundtest comparing all the chocs
Bought these from https://mkultra.click/choc-switches. Used a Kailh box switch sampler frame to demo these, so YMMV on the sound based on the material of the switch plate and the keycaps.
Top row (left to right):
White (clicky) - 60g
Robin (clicky) - 57g
Brown (tactile) - 60g
Middle row (left to right):
Black (linear) - 60g
Red (linear) - 50g...
Neem de bekroonde toetsenbordlegende - MSI Vigor GK50 Low Profile in een tenkeyless vormfactor en krijg de prestaties om je naar een next level gam...
gonna get this one
O low profile switches
why it it fucking $90 more for blue switches
red switches make baby jesus cry, I'm not spending that much on a keyboard to have the horrible mushy garbage of red switches in my life
you can just replace them with blues
oh wait i just saw optical
uhhhh
i guess you could still do it if they use gateron opticals
All I want is - TKL (or full size but TKL preferred). Wireless, and addressable RGB over wireless, must be USB C.
oh, and obviously mechanical switches, browns pref, blues acceptable
doesn't do RGB over wireless
oh rip
I mean admittedly I'm asking for every feature a keyboard can have, more or less
but it doesn't seem that strange. I just hate wires. using a High power Qi charger, I can charge my KB and mouse on the desk without any visible wires
no plugging/unplugging
agreed, I really wish wireless keyboard tech would develop like wireless mouse tech
doesn't seem much harder to do
I am currently using a corsair dark core RGB pro SE mouse, which is fine, but I will be getting a G502X plus later. The G502 being micro b was a deal breaker.
The puck I ordered for logitech Qi charging just arrived - because powerplay over the top of my existing desk mat is a solid nothx
But it makes more sense to upgrade KB first, because mouse is already wireless/wireless charging/rgb addressable
same with g703 both shapes are 👌
why do u want the claymore in the first place? Something specifuc?
.... I said explicitly what I want
My fault
I have a bunch of other keyboards, so it's not worth compromising. better to buy the one that does everything I want.
man the qi charge is pretty unique i guess
yeah - that doesn't need to be in the kb, that's just an aftermarket thing you stick on the bottom, ezpz
oh
but as far as I can tell, the claymore II is one of the only ways to get ALL of those features.
tbh the hardest thing is wireless addressable RGB.
doesnt q3 do that?
could also look at ducky one 3
Actually, I would consider a kb with enough room to shove a a SFF ESP32 in, and run the RGB seperately
if the LEDs are all on the one chain, that would work perfectly
Just need to map them appropriately
Where and how does that support wireless addressable RGB?
Yeah k8 pro seems to fit the bill
it supports qmk/via lighting
I mean I'm literally using a k8 right now
nice
which, AFAIK does not support addressable RGB over bluetooth
what does addressable rgb entail?
like the ability to change rgb on the fly while wireless?
Full RGB control from the host at 60hz
Less might work, but that's ideal.
There are over 1000 other addressable RGB lights in the setup, so it's kind of a deal-breaker, and something I'm willing to modify and make custom stuff to support (RGB runs mostly off a seperate dedicated power supply)
I finally finished my modding of my nk65 EE and alpaca linears
they sound so good oh my gosh
Hello my ss rival 3 mouse wheel scroll just stopped working is there any way to fix it?
Found my kb, blackwidow v3 pro
Which will be better for white themed setup
Looking for a keyboard suggestion!
Requirements:
- Not too big/bulky, NOT TKL
- Not too expensive
Any help would be appreciated, so far I've seen the SteelSeries apex 5 blue switch, anything better around that price range? (~100$)
Cs go
Gmmk
Keychron c2
K4
You could get a keychron v1
Where are you getting these suggestions?
I just like the rgb on the gmmk and its a ok keeb
V1 is tkl
Btw, I need It to ship internationally, and usb a is preferable...
Found it, though I understand the c2 is usb-c, and the v1 is tkl
Oh 75 percent squashed tkl
what..
Would still rather the full 100%...
so you want smaller than a tkl but a 100%?
He wants 96 or 100
you do understand tkl is 80% right
Tkl and 75 are basically the same for alot if people
Not tkl, just a regular full keyboard with numpad and all 😅
So a full size
Look at k4
Yup... I don't really understand keyboard talk so all the percentages kinda confused me lol
it’s fine
K4 is decent if you don’t wanna wait
The V5/V6 are releasing soon
you could get either of those and they’d be better than a K4
Any idea about their price? I can wait a bit
About that, any real life use for the knob? Not an artist or anything, so I just figured it's for volume control? Correct me of I'm wrong
I realized people that do music and stuff like it, I can't see a use for it other than volume😅
You can reprogram it to stuff
pg up/pg down
zoom
Side scroll
it’s qmk/via so you can do whatever seems feasible
I don’t mess too much with via/qmk so I can’t really tell you the limits
And in English?
via/qmk is the firmware/software that you can reprogram your keyboard with
via is fairly simple to use
So it's not proprietary software for each manufacturer? I sincerely do not know, been using a scorpius plastic pos for like 2 years now, decided it's time for a change
Yeah it’s like that
Any board that can support qmk/via won’t need proprietary software
and imo it’s awesome
you’ve got some stuff like tap dancing which is awesome
Tap dancing? Like actual tap dancing or I guess it's slang for something... I'm here to learn😂
hmm
Are you down to read?
This explains pretty well
Sure... I mean it's 23:00 where I'm at and I have work tomorrow but I'll save it to read when I have the time, thank you so much for your help!

opinions on moving from a mechanical keyboard to apple magic?
I abhor the 0° typing angle but if it’s your thing then go for it
will i still feel a click on Kailh Choc Low Profile White switches because i tested some low profile brown switches and i barely felt the bump
yes
choc white uses a bar to generate the click
like will i feel it very good
Thats up to your preference but there will be a very noticeable click, as in more than your average cherry or gat blue
The browns are purposefully light as to mimick cherry browns to an extent and those are extremely light bump tactiles
more than average cherry
i was wondering why i almost couldnt feel them
im a heavy typer
Bcz they are regular browns
Theres basically no bump on a full size switch
thats why
the whites will be much much clickiet
yes, and you will also be able to feel the click or bump the modt
is there a switch that gives you the click like typing on a blue kyeboard but quiet
not rlly quiet
i just wanna play at midnight
Well, depends how quiet and what kind of bump, there are the kailh box mute series, which are significantly quieter than their non mute counterparts whilst maintaining most of the feel, or you can go for heavy silent tactiles like the boba u4 silent or the durock silent shrimp,
i think there is mute whites as well so if you particularly like the white and its weight etc then do that
what is the difference between low profile white switches and normal white ones besides it being smaller/faster
like does the low profile white switch make less noise than a normal white one?
or is the size the only difference
size is the main difference
larger ones typically feel better to use as there is more travel but thats just preference
got a budget?
It is, not tkl tho
just for the keyboard or everything?
how do i use F1 keys on 60%
just for kb
FN + 1-12
ye base keyboad
oh
Check out the mk870
i can probably switch the switches and keycaps later on
yah
Oh so you do want a prebuilt
oh no base kb means no switches or keycaps
