Anyone heard or own noir n1v3 or maybe havit kb487?
I had the havit 985 for like 3 days
Its a pretty cheap keyboard(30$ on amazon)
Is the 487 the same in price?@old tulip
What are planning to achieve with it?
I always liked clean and retro keyboards, but i cant find perfect wirleess mechanical keyboard
Its not wireless
depend of what qualify as perfect
There is no such thing as perfect
Unless you go custom route
I know but if its good clean keyboard i dont mind one wire
Well its not hot swap
Thats when i found noir n1 a random brand but shipping cost its a price of its own
So if you're willing to commit to the switches
Nah im happy with yellow or brown switches and not willing to change them any time in future
tell me it's your first time using qmk without telling me it's your first time using qmk
what part of laptop key is this?
Hey I want some transparent keycaps to go with my keychron v1. Any suggestions? I prefer shipping from the US if possible.
escape [esc]
Rubber dome
Albeit a small one, but still a rubber dome
yea i saw found on google thanks anyway..
now next problem is screws lol... and another problem related to probably every problem is that, that laptop, is like 15 yrs old? around that
straighten the cable man
it looks good, but that cable is just killing the vibe being at taht angle
cool
pre lubed or did you lube them yourself?
did it myself
they are realy nice
even if they are stock
i also like the wooden case makes them sound even better
What board?
120 euros Germany linear tkl

This good?
guys i need a bit of help
so i got my everglide sk87 and i dident get the software with it
so i went online and downloaded a software for the sk87
but windows is protecting my pc and i dont want to risk it
this is what it looks like and it seems very sketchy to me
so can anyone help please?
nice
defender pops up?
or smartscreen?
wtf did you download
idk
love my new keychron K3. low profile browns are so smooth to type on
i wanted one of them, til i realised they were £149
went with the tecware phantom 87
sounds amazing
Nope
Not to keyboard enthusiasts
do you need it for gaming and/or regular daily driving
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GBSGTKV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I am using this keyboard right now and it types like TommyInnit's keyboard but it's from a Japanese company.
does anyone know of a 104 or 105 key plate mount PCB with nkro capability
so a 100% layout
besides just taking a pcb out of an existing keyboard
The keyboard plate is made of aluminum alloy, which is light in weight and strong in appearance. Also shop for computer & office at best prices on AliExpress!
here's another

Faster than Plouffe and Linus
Beat Chak going at 250 wpm
He’s still young lmao
Recently built a custom keeb on stream last year
and 250wpm is logged on keymash btw
He’s a keymash pro
I'm saying that he isn't as good as he has been
since he doesn't practice as much as he used to
You sure?
I would say that in 2020 he was the best typist no contest
but now I would put him at number #4 or #3
since he doesn't care as much as some other typists
anymore
I don't think he would be able to get 250 on time 30
not even in his peak probably
Probably burst 300 if he wanted to
yes
I do have a friend who does that
not for 30 seconds
Anyone know a mechanical keyboard that is wired and can also be wireless?
Like the logitech K800
But... I'm looking for other alternatives that is both wired and can be wireless
Well that’s basically all wireless keyboards
but if you mean Bluetooth and a wire, check out Keychrons K series keyboards
if you want something for gaming, the NuPhy Air75 is a keyboard that can go wireless and wired
Receiver 2.4Ghz wireless, and USB-C wired
gaming
ill use it for daily driving too but idc about fn keys i just need arrows
idm paying a 10 extra euros for fn keys tho
akko
Also royal kludge rk84 rk61 etc has all 3
Ngl I have the rk61 it's nice but I'm having issues with it and windows 11 look in #tech-support at the issue I'm having other than that it's very nice
Have you tried restarting your pc, switching to bt,2.4,wired unplug replug,
also does it work in other apps or just broken in browser
if its just browser reinstall or restart that
maybe clear cache etc
^
Keyboards are fun
Plouffe is one of us~
it dosnt work altogether as in typing
pluged in 2.4 or bluetooth
ive tried them as well
i believe its software
hey guys, i'm looking to buy some sort of thocy tacile switch, kind of liek holy pandas. anyone know any budget alternative/better alternatives
rgb razor v12 super 30 dollars
link?
How do you make the rgb on a gmmk tkl a solid color
ok to ask about mice here or what channel is that?
it is the only chat that makes sense at least, and others do it here too
ok, thinking of getting a new mouse and been looking at the logitech g pro x superlight and heard good things about it. Is it the "best" mouse to go for when im a bit serious about gaming or are there other newer/better options?
can´t say much about pro x superlight.. but i have the G703 wireless, it´s cheaper and has lightspeed technology. only for right handed though. used it a few years and am happy with it 🙂
There's no best mouse
The best mouse for you is not the same as the best mouse for another
Shape is probably the most important thing ... must be comfortable and fit your hand naturally
got the glorious model o currently and rly like the shape, hands are on the bigger side but not huge
Then keep that one
latencies tho
cord is very bad on it atm and i wanna try something new
Meh
some mice are faster than others
as long as you don't get one of those very cheap ones, usually fine tho ig
Irrelevant uess it's bluetooth kind of latencies
Lots of.thing in the chain will have higher latency than modern gaming mouse
If you are always replacing the mouse in your hand and don't feel comfortable or have a hard time reaching some buttons ... I will matter more than 2ms less latency than the other mouse that would have fit better
NuPhy Air75
What grip do you use?
And can you do wired?
If you want customisable hardware, you could opt for the Xtrfy M4 or M42. They come with “hotswap” back plates which allow you to change the back hump to suit your grip
Tortilla grip
took you a while
Only difference is the M4 requires you to screw on the back plates whereas the M42 is magnetic
Fingertip*
not on pcpp
I literally wrote a paragraph ;-;
where
no good kbs are on that
PCPP is for pc components not keyboards lmao
what do i use then
is ducky one two good
reed switches
idk I use like fingertip grip but my hand is always on the desk
Latency go brrr
that wasnt for me..
But read the context
how much latency tho
Well only recently with the ducky one 3 has ducky chosen to cater for gamers
Amazon
also nuphy is super low profile so if you dont want that go for the rk87/rk84 IMO
Alright, ducky one 3
so i get that
ok
also keychron if youre wired :)
idm if its wireless
Bit expensive but you can save money
but not if im risking performance
If you opt for smaller sizes like TKL and 65%
What genre of games do you play
Welp you can’t go wrong with a Razer Ducky One 3 mini
I think that is precisely $120 but I could be wrong
razer is shit
Exactly
where is the ducky one 3
Xtrfy Mz1
Good mouse for fingertip
;-;
noo
Pulsar Lunar Alloy TKL?
What's wrong with the mz1 ...
Bought this one before and it started spinnign when moved to fast
Probably got a bad unit
You sure?
@swift forge say something bro 😭
Pulsar Lunar Alloy TKL
just said it lol
oh sry my mistake was a M2
KNEW IT KEKW

the Mz1 is rocket jump ninjas goat, they make that thing trash Xtrfys reputation gets smashed
Oh no wonder
I’m in school chill
too bad
so sad you don’t know the life of a lad
It’s personal preference
I mean I think it’s a higher quality keyboard tbh if you can see into the keeb, since then if the the PCB shorts or something you’ll spot it
with enough hunting around the circuit board
Budget: 40-45$
Rgb: YES
Blue switch
wired or wireless both ok
should be 60% or less
Someone tell if any good keyboard in this range
60% or less ... so 40% is fine ?
bro said 60% or less
hey, what keyboard to get?
how is anyone supposed to answer that for you with 0 info on preferences in switches, layout, even colorscheme and does it need rgb etc etc etc
oh, ok sorry about that
Anyone have a mojo 68 here?
I got a problem
My custom keyboard suddenly stopped working, but the matrix key tester shows the keys working
I tried the keyboard on another device, but it wasn't working
At the risk of sounding elderly, what's going on when I attempt to press a number of different keys at once and instead of registering all the inputs, it makes a 'boop' sound?
It doesn't seem like a consistent number of keys to me, like sometimes the limit is four, sometimes I can get away with pressing more. Anyway, it's really annoying during gaming, how can I disable this?
reminds me of the many people who complain about sticky keys, yet never disable it
sticky keys >
I have sticky keys disabled though!
At least... I think? I went into the options and disabled it, was one of the first things I did.
And I recall sticky keys bringing up an info box, not playing a noise
Also, wasn't it the shift key specifically that enables/disables sticky keys?
are you using vial?
i've had the keymaps just disappear once
Yeah I do, but the keymaps are all there
Matrix keytester works
It's not cause it's a plastic case that it's bad build quality
You can have really shitty alu builq quality
was gifted a redragon k621 btw
Basically G915TKL hobo edition
I can f e e l t h e m u s h
red outemu chocs suck ass
thankfully it's hotswappable tho
Pudding keycaps W or L?
Probably just me, but it makes the keycaps look squishy, like the white bit is made of foam or duck down like a pillow
They definitely make my RGB look brighter tho
Which brand of black switches ...
They are heavy linears, so depends on your typing style
and, certain brands design them differently to others
your typical Cherry MX reds are around 40gf of actuation force, heavy is like 60gf
What’s a good force?
very subjective
it could be light as 30, heavy as 80
but usually 50gf is middle ground which most people agree on
ask the others, I'm an amateur tbf compared to dr0y, lam, quill etc
I’ll take 35-50
35 is killer light for most people
50 is a good starting point
hi
my aunt gave me 2100 inr
a lil over
25 usd
i could add a lil myself
any recs? im on a old laptop keyboard
was thinking 60% but i also need arrow keys
idk how much usd it is
i think 45
why are amazon links so big wtf
Aaaaa that's too much for me
I'm looking for something half that price
like 30usd?
(i don't need RGB or numpad)
Yea 25-35 basically
I'll also get a mouse if i get under 30
Redragon K552 kumara LED backlit mechanical gaming Keyboard (Black) The Redragon K552 kumara isn't your average gaming Keyboard. Not only is it over-engineered and built to take a beating, it is loaded with features including heavy duty metal and ABS Construction, double-shot injection molded key...
how much is this for you
The perfect price
Hmm the Amazon reviews mention double press issues
its the most popular keyboard
most of the keyboards work perfectly fine
i'd recommend getting the red or brown switches tho
Blue are horrible btw
But i want something to stealthy that my parents next room can't here
I bought one accidentally
F
Got red
Get
Nice
Is there better price/keyboard if i give up rgb
Gaymurness not that imp for me💀
its very hard to find a mechanical keyboard with no rgb tbh
Red or brown
Will be the same noise
You can get k552 without rgb
In white or black
For your budget that's about the best option
reds will be a little bit quieter than browns
and personally, linear switches are the best switches
Not really
You'll hear spring ping and bottom out way before hearing the tactile bump
Can't get k552 anyways
Most Indian reviews here are like
These are extremely defective
damn really?
Prolly a country specific issue
thats bad luck
how bout this one

Bruh that's 8k here
100 bucks
30 in usa
😫
wtf
Inr*
This is fine except no arrow keys
?
Although i would really prefer arrow keys
you can change it to arrow keys in the software
Oh
oh it doesnt have software
but you have to hold down fn key to use the arrow keys
Any recommendations for a 100% mech keyboard with ISO layout (bc Germany)? I'm looking at the Keychron Q6 atm
Get a 65% then
decent option
couldn't find anything 💀
everything either had people complaining in reviews
or was too expensive
65% is like the most common dude
Dont look at amazon reviews btw, 90% fake
Rk61 is rly good
68*
from royal kludge
50 bucks 💀
i was trying to stay under 30
35 was ok
maybeee 40
50 a lil too much to convinc parents
or you can just say you can pay the 20 bucks?
I'm 17😩
ok and?
I would think that a 17 year old can just manage his own money and buy whatever he wants
(ik in the west teens working is normal but the min wage is like less than a dollar a hr here)
boi
Dollar a day*
theres no fuckin way thats real
Hence teens here focus on edu and look for something white collar
Cause as long as u blue collar
Forget making over 10k a yr
the what now? blue collar, white collar??
(and live off parents till then)
Like working IT or something pays reasonable
Working as an electrician
Does not
here electricians get paid really well
It should be that way I agree
like I think its maybe 4k a month on average
4k a yr (probably lesser) here
Well you also have to consider cost of living
oh yeah that is true
Going over 30-35 is asking my parents for money
yeah and where you are thats a good amount
Yea dad uses like a 7 dollar keyboard for his work💀
damn .
???
if you need keyboard help or anything like that you can either ping me here with whatever issue you're having or DM. I'll help if I can.
yes:)
i would love that
because people on another server were very mean and insulting and im just trying to figure out what the problem is
so i got a ducky keyboard one mini 2 in white and it doesnt seem to work with the usb c to usb c cables i've used
and idk if its the cables, the keyboard or neither
@cinder coral
ok nvm it worked! just need a good cable tomorrow!
I want to build the smallest keyboard that is still fully usable to pack along with my steamdeck. What % should I go with? I do have big ol' hands.
40%
yeah probably about right
Please tell me that doesn't exist
cut out bottom, but less cutout sides.
PixArt PMW3395, it would be nice if they added tention screws for ajustment of cliking.
What's the most expensive mouse any of you know of
Well there is the m1k, which retails for 252.34 USD.
you could pay some one to mod it, which would probable bump it up to 350 range, plus parts. Add sapphire skates for 70. pushing it to 460 range.
oh well 360+ 70+ 100 mod = 530
Still too cheap
pmm also offers custom mouse desgin. Like they'll build your dream mouse. that is probable expensive.
Do you know anything even more expensive that nobody in their right mind is going to pay for?
it better not be that leather mouse
Leather mouse, you say?
yah there a desginer mouse with leather.
...why
M2k still more expensive
probable would sell for more then any other mouse on the planet. (first mouse ever made)
what mouse cost 35,000
31k for a mouse that would hurt to use
My hands look like this
So hers can look like this:
24k for a 154.99 dollar mouse. That's basicly 'luxury' mice in a nutshell.
If my mouse isn't gold plated, doesn't have leather strips for my fingers, and doesn't include a ball jacuzzi for my desktop then why should I even spend my energy glancing at it
Literally (if you’re a mouse enthusiast too) looks like the Xtrfy Mz1 wireless and Logitech Pro X Superlight had a child
then they took a design aesthetic from Logitech and Endgame to put their battery indicator LED on the side of the mouse (Endgame Xm2w feature but logo placed there) and write the company name below left click (Logitech G303 Shroud Edition, Logitech X Shroud lettering written the same way but under right click)
And apparently they’ll weigh the same as the Xlite series, though fingertip and ambi designed instead of ergo
email caviar
ok wait ukw
if i can ever afford to buy that
i would like to
what even is this chat, its just someone asking for 500k mice?
love the way it looks, just don't like the looks of that cable, looks so fragile
hi guys, i still have problems with my ducky
i got it to work once with an usb c to usb c and got another cable today doesnt work with that but it works with an adapter
Well fear not that thing is capable of 8000hz polling rate
Which would be much of a scam if the cable doesn’t even last long enough to spark anyones interest in testing that
And by some reviewers it’s one of the mice with the lowest click and tracking latency
8000hz is honestly a pretty useless feature
like please show me a single person who can tell the difference between 1000 and 8000
many, as long as they have testing equipment and can compare the result to tell the difference
ok, show me a single person who can physically tell the difference without looking at numbers on a screen
since I apparently have to specify
exactly
its a feature nobody asked for, they could have used the time to develop it to make the build quality better or add some other cool feature but nah, 8000hz
what the hell does m2k have to do with razer
what does razer have to do with the topic sir
wasn't about anything razer to begin with
tiny mouse
now they just need to reduce it more
by just making a mouse, which is just two buttons, and two plastic knobs you can hold it with
just the PCB, with two buttons, lel
man. as someone who claw grips this hurts to see
I don't hold my mouse, I just push it around with like 3 fingers
i smell optimum tech screenshots
its the only place I know where to find usable pics of it, lel
has some nice videos, just some times he's a bit ehh
mostly his hardware choice for PCs tho
the kind of person who would be pairing a 12900ks with a 3070 TI
uses NZXT, etc
which rk61 switches should I go with, can't divide between the brown and blue
And is there any typing difference between the rbg and backlight version? I'm considering the white with blue backlight
i mean he certainly seems like the guy to need extra cpu
he definitely doesn't only game
can anyone help me? i just got my first ever 60% keyboard and it looks like i can't do F key combos on minecraft (i.e. F3 + A to reload chunks) can anyone help me with this? I'm using an HK Gaming gk61
same goes for stuff like alt + <-/-> to go back and forth in discord channels
I mean as in what he actually recommended people
NZXT AIO, build combinations like 12900k with 3070/3080, calling Z690-E from Asus (a 650$ board) "mid-range" and "good value" etc
he can be pretty whack, one thing he does good tho is not being a bass shill and gaming brand shill, and more so the idea of value from the POV from someone who cares about it
should i set a macro for these functions?
I'm no expert but pretty sure you need disable hot keys
Does it work if you hold down the fn key?
O
HK gaming?
Hong Kong gaming?
i guess
hi guys. so my ducky one 2 mini doesnt work with usb c to usb c. only works with an adaptor (usb a female usb c male) and im curious as to why. the keyboard uses a usb c male (for the keyboard) and usb a male (for laptop) cable. ive noticed that the usb c ducky cable looks different.
Is there an issue with using the adapter?
nope
works perfect
Rk61 or the gk61
Rk61
Too much bloat tbh. If you grab a mouse with a claw grip, you can use one knob in the center
you can't claw grip the mouse I was talking about anyway, and was thinking of ways they could reduce the weight more
tho only way really would be only having buttons, and a way to hold it (aka 2 gripping points)
There was a post I saw a while ago about what humans could do if pushed to their absolute limits
not to much, because their fat's in the way for many
Similarly, given no limits, what's the best mouse design?
I know there's a huge push for reducing weight, but what else could be done
I would prefer a mouse that is mostly wide
thumb position on mouse would be better for me imo that way
always feel like I have to cramp with mice anyway, because of the shape
so I prefer finger tip, which is the loosest
tho at that point you're trying to make new types of mice
with different shapes, layouts, etc
and not just size
Nothing wrong with new types of mice.... except for the increase in price and difficulty
like instead of left and right on the front, they're positioned like the back triggers on controllers
so you pull your fingers towards you, instead of pushing down
pulling is nicer than pushing imo
tho at that point you would need like 45 degree at minimum on the actual switches
same for mouse wheel
smaller, and on the tip instead
I was referring to the M2k, its capable of 8000hz
if you watch reviews you'll know that
I know, he thought it was tho
yea got it
The only way I fathom the implementation of 8000hz polling is this front bit, probably chonk MCU
just a huge section here then pretty much nothing elsewhere under the top shell
its supposed to be gripped, so your fingertips are at an angle where they can use the power of all your palm muscles
think about fingertip-gripping a Pro X Superlight, for reference
when pressing down the main mouse buttons hard enough you feel your palm muscles
meh, I only feel pain around my knuckle
hi
is the ltt deskmat good
woudl you say its a better or worse mousepad than the glorious deskmats
cus i have one of those rightt now but the size is terrible
it has no vertical space
anyone know an alternative to the official (hkgaming) software for the gk61? i heard the official could lead to bricking (source : https://www.reddit.com/r/GK61/comments/nazl19/do_not_update_hk_gaming_gk61_keyboards_to_12021/)
Their desgin is very eligant in it's simplicity. It's like usb <-> chip <-> sesnor
It's a PixArt 3360, with 216 MHz Cortex-M7 core.
But not sure if it's 8k on usb 2, or usb 3.
Some people argue that you need usb 3 to get to full 8k, but even if your doing like 205 MS between polls, that's still mcuh better then 1k.
but apparently you have to enable 8,000. And it doens't sound like there a 2,000 or 4,000 option. Like if your playing apex, anything over 4k causes horible screen stuttering.

bruh, razer released a keyboard which is razer deathstalker v2 pro
not counting latency from pull to screen, just latency betwene polls.
hmm, the link will be sent to dms to get the proof that they released it rn
I'm like viper 8k, Huntsman V2, both at 8k, optical switches. With each plugged into a sperate usb 3.0 controller.
teensy 4.0 can also do 8k polling, I kind of want to make a dual sensor mouse with one.
There is an OG Deathstalker so nothing new
yeah
Was the G510 the fist logitech keyboard with scroll wheel?
I think razer DeathStalker Ultimate with the built in screen, and lcd buttons. was a year or two later.
first basilisk was 2017, 2014. They use to make such large heavy mice, like boats.
I liked the desgin before the 502, like G400s
yeah
I hated the scroll wheel on the G500s, and they were so ugly.
back then they letting you add more weight to your mouse as an insert. XD
having a mouse with a scroll wheel that'll just free-spin is WEIRD.
I've never had one before, and it's gonna take getting used to
I timed it: One good flick can get it to spin for 9-10 seconds
So I got the LOTR custom wrist rest from drop amd I'm so hyped. Are we allowed to post pics in these chats?
I'll live with repercussions idc
looks good
which in a huge server brings me back around 2 months worth of messages
if I scroll up and go crazy spin on a G502
Logitech released a new suite of stuff kek
now their keyboards include a cloud-shaped wrist rest
G713, G715 - wired/wireless
and basically are G915 TKL x G Pro keyboards
plus, you can now change out the top plate and keycaps
I hope this doesn't take a turn for the worse
.
in simple terms, high profile TKL wireless keeb (G715) with media controls and the option of bluetooth alongside receiver wireless, or a high profile TKL USB-C wired keeb (G713) with media controls and a detachable cable
i got the costco razer heroic bundle and the keyboard is a blackwidow v3 and it is loud
im sorry for your loss
I have a question, should i make my Right Ctrl, Right meta, Right Ctrl and / keys arrow keys or not? I could make them arrow keys without Fn and normal keys with Fn, I have a 60%
It's up to you ... nobody can tell you how to configure your keyboard ... if you don't see any down side to it then go for it
Is this actually hot swap
they sure are using excellent image quality
Yes
Well it is their own but they have an accessories store on the https://logitechg.com/ website now
Result of being too lazy to make a super light G502 but still feeling like “hey let’s release an ergo mouse”
it’s loosely based off the G303 shroud edition it seems
Uhh well probably just the Alu ones for their own keebs, but different colour schemes
small mouse + medium-high weight = stupid
So they don't sell plates, new boards are just hot swap so you have the option to make your own plate
Idk about that website but the rk61 is a good board and is usually quite cheap (for my region about 60$ give or take)
Redragon Kumara K552 vs Ant Esports MK1300 vs Redragon K630 Dragonborn
iv basically narrowed my search down to these 3
k552 although very popular has many concerning reviews from Indians on amazon(i will be ordering in india) with people explaining their problems elaboratly
but like everyone seems to call it the best bang for buck?
on yt
the k630 and mk1300 both seems to be missing arrow keys but i need em
althought the mk1300 does let u use keys as arrow keys after pressing fn key
@stuck tulip go study
idk if theres a simlar feature for k630
dude i just got off
like
💀
thanks doe
then change your status lmao
and main reason im getting a keyboard is that arrow keys on my laptop stopped working
oh wait k630 has em too
fn + wasd
so then im confused
mk1300(otemu reds) vs k630(otemu browns) i havnt used mechanical keyboards before
Does anyone here know how would someone go about trying to have a keyboard tested? Or rather see if it’s even possible
(As in, not a commercially available keyboard)
I don’t really see how they would do that
Maybe going to commercial stores and getting a feel of similar ones??
They already have a jig, I am working on one similar in grad scgool
Nono I design keyboards myself, I just want to do some nerd science and test them hehe
Ohh
Yeah cause it can produce a lot of fun data
Has anyone here had a problem with the lights on your keyboard not turning on when you boot up your PC? I always have to go and un-plug and then plug it back in to get the lights to work. (Corsair K55)
There is a chance you have an either outdated or corrupted driver
or your usb port settings are wonky so when you unplug and plug it again it resets it and works properly again
Checked all these for outdated drivers, all of them are up to date
I do have a windows 10, 21h2 update available, but I doubt its that
could be that icue being the excellent software that it is, always fucked up something
What keyboard should i get if i want quiet and tactile switches?
Im familiar with razer so id like a razer like feel...?
hmm thats a tall order
What kind of data u tryna get from a keyboard
Is the razer death adder essential worth it for 14 usd or should I just get the viper mini
Say that to all the 2160 eDPI CS:GO pros
Without the small enough size for manoeuvrability and weight for control they’d lose the trophy very quickly
Well for you it might be of some help since you mentioned your Finalmouse being too light to weigh down your mousepad

meh, still hurts my wrist weight wise
and thankfully I do not need the mousepad
I sit on a couch 99% of the time after all
just that usual "mousepad that's still not flattened after months, because for some dumb reason they roll up stiff materials inside of a tube instead of keeping it in a flat package" lol
is there better software than HK Gaming's for the gk61v2 (GK61US)?
I trust Finalmouse has great feet?
Viper mini over the deathadder
well in a factory, or design, they would usually have machines, to test the keyboard. They might press keys till they fail. They might look at travel, resistance in a similar manor.
source?
GWT TEST
thanks tylor
GWT might stand for Great Wall Tools.
Reds vs browns?
Iv narrowed it to 2 keyboards that tick all my boxes
Otemu red is one
And otemu brown other
Absolutely loving this keyboard! Feels better than my Epomaker GK68Xs with box jades
difference between cherry mx keys
browns = you feel a bump beneath your fingers, and there's more typing resistance
reds = completely linear, no feel just travel
if you play shooters, browns can prevent very accidental triggering of random actions whereas reds are best for MMOs and rhythm games where reaction time is key, since they tend to have lower pre-travel
but its mainly preference after this explanation. I, for one, use blues when playing FPS games since I know whether I've done something or not because my actions will be audible
blues being loud, clicky, very "bumpy"
silent linears with the lowest force required where
I don't game at all
I just need something good and silent for typing
how fast are we talking?
and how confident are you in your typing ability? Can you touch type (not look at kb)
If we're talking this, you could try the reds but they'll take some time to get used to, since newbies to the switch type tend to make more mistakes when typing due to the low activation force and closeness of keys
I can't
Iv also just been using shit keyboards all along
So like
I wanna learn
I'm a newbie
So maybe browns it is then
I liked the placement of the arrow keys on reds a bit better
But not the end of the world
Ant report
Esport*
And reddragon
They are both like 30 dollars
(that was my budget)
Wait till you hear how much I spent on a budget custom keyboard I got cheap from Taobao
waits to hear
This doesn't seem too unreasonable given that 50 dollar mechanical keyboards are budget
If you use replica key caps it would be 240 usd
Nah
This is really good for 150 usd
Relatively speaking
200 usd for a custom keyboard is really little
It’s like the bare minimum
I just got really lucky
Here’s how it looks
Idk much about keyboards but nice
I hate most of those gaming keyboards
I’ve seen a shitty membrane keyboard with some rgb sell for like 40 usd
💀
Razer Cynosa bet
Logitechs G213 is actually a good membrane according to some
it’s like a high profile well QCed budget board
Still it’s membrane
Yes
But sometimes it feels better than mech
Like RTINGS saying the Logitech MX Mech having worse typing quality than the normal MX Keys
my Q1 with all the mods, switches and keycaps was like 340
including tools like brushes etc
Mines came with the switches and lube
well I put in alpaca switches so you cant really get them with any board lol
lubed and filmed them too
Alpacas are yummy
topre better
BM65, gateron yellow ks3 (lubed), botanical (clones 😰).
Budget build but does the job for me 👍
nah its better
You sure?
“Butterfly better than mechanical in every way = opinion”
cost
my 40rmie arrived with a broken acrylic part :c
luckily the guy who runs p3d is cool af and gonna replace.
but damn it sucks to be that excited for something and then have it arrive like that lol
what about durability
cost
like god, those things don't even last a day
its like 2 sim card thingies from your phone put through each other
i got new keycaps
ah, an mx hater
how does it feel to be the most based kind of person out there
Aside from the spacebar, I really like these legends. what set is it?
also is it XDA or DSA or what?
||radula in ltt server whatttttt||
great obviously
though i dont actually hate mx
market is just oversaturated and mx people are cringe
pretty much
i ordered a realforce r2 pfu not long ago, really excited to try it out ngl
nice
yep, might also snag a hr2 in case i feel the stock case is a bit shit
r2 seems to have a much nicer case than r1
the option is still there. 🤷
i cope with my stock case because i like how it looks and somehow no one has done an actual 1:1 clone of it yet
i just like the bezels, and having an actual removable cable would be nice
but i can live with non-removable, it's fine
you can mod a removable cable pretty easily
can't mod bezels though 🤷
i should do it on mine but im lazy and cba when i realistically have no need for it
yeah r2 branding is pretty ugly
thats xda
also, flipped spacebar, so yea it looks odd
can you even flip spacebar with XDA? I thought it would be the same both ways....
wait im being recognized wat.
its the lighting
it is the same
the reason is because the stabs that i got has smaller stem than the keycaps, so when typing the spacebar can pop out of the stab
ah gotcha
How much does it cost to buy parts and build a keyboard?
what kind of keyboard are you looking for, and what are you looking to do with it?
and what's your budget.
twenty shekels and 3 quid
Seems reasonable
i thought so
Gaming, and I’m just curious about pricing
It can be anywhere from 150ish to in the thousands.
Like if it’s worth it to build my own or just buy one
What ducky keyboard do y’all recommend ( best one and under the €500)
if you're not super into it as a hobby, you'll probably get the most value from something like a nice gasket mounted keychron.
if that's your budget, i recommend not getting a ducky.
or a realforce rgb if you're of that persuasion.
hipyo moment.
Ok thanks
hippos here now?
Anyone in here with Corsair iCUE able to tell me if I can create custom functions with the FN key? For instance, could I bind HJKL to function as arrow keys when holding FN?
I love them
Great profile, one of my favorite
ar eyou now geeking out over their keyboard reviews?
cause that's what I did with their mouse reviews.
Haven’t checked at all
yall saw this keyboard https://next.wooting.io/wooting-60he?drawer=0&air=1
have been for a long time
i must be behind then
like i know its a thing back when chyrosran22 reviewed the wooting two lekker
It’s a nice board
wooting grindset
anyone here know why my keyboards volume wheel just stopped working? it worked perfectly less than a day ago and now it does absolutely nothing
yes
whats that strap for?
carrying, and some style
It’s a wrist strap so when you beat someone with it the keyboard won’t fly out of your hand
🤣
I think they're trying to provoke a masculin energy.
But like the whole point of safety flags is to make sure you remove them before use.
or, your in-game opposition can rage till satisfied if you beat them there, and they come physically at you wielding the keyboard like nunchaku at you (i.e. that wrist strap is larger than some people's wrists, small wrists can fling the keyboard chassis around) without having the risk that it'll suddenly fly out of control and result in a fatality
they should make a phone sized keyboard, lel
guys im new to this whole keyboard modding thing but I wanted something that sounds like im typing on a mouse pad or something like that with a linear feel and not too expensive that I can pull off at home with some determination and run of the mill tools, any suggestions?
Aug 11 - Deathadder V3
Aug 12 - Fantech Aria
Aug 15 - Pulsar X2
it would also be nice if it had 8000 hz. 😿 but the whole depth programing like the razers is intresting. 1ms is becoming more standard, so now people are now starting to measure in µs.
There likely are a lot of people who like that strap, considering the whole zoomer fashion these days
you want to mkae your own keyboard or just mod a prebuilt?
but if some one plays helicopter with it, what are the chance it breaks, and it yeets it's self across the room.
who knows, hopefully high
because idiots deserve it
Any reviews about hp omen sequencer keyboard?
it has lekker switches which let you program the same key with two actions, depending on whether you've tapped or held the key
very useful for MMO players, who with the 60HE probably don't need more macro keys
What's with the mis match of reds and browns
And blues
Ohh gotcha
And done
whats a good prebuilt white keyboard for 50 dollars
Eh, I prefer to have all my keys feel the same.
Though since my gaming keyboard is analog I can however change the actuation distance on a per-key basis.
Pulsar Lunar Alloy TKL
Wait pulsar makes keyboards too!!??
I really only heard of them because of their gaming mice and the superglides.
Yes
Just not until very recently did they make decent ones
And I do use superglides myself!
The Pulsar PCMK is the barebones version which I’ve commonly seen people mod with the G Skill Crystal crown keycaps
And some form of Kailh or Akko switch
True.
It’s easy to cotton mod if need be as well
But lots of people go for keychron keyboards lol.
Like me.
So you’re no longer a Ducky fan I presume
Eh, they’re nothing that special either lol.
Though for gaming I use the Wooting 60HE.
Because they have analog switches.
So I can make keys literally touch sensitive lol.
What tkl or 65 keyboard should i get if i want tactile switches under 120 usd?
I bought it for rhythm games, not typing 🤷♂️
I do type on it— it’s my only keyboard— but if I want different switches for different things I’ll just throw em in like I did
Because having multiple keyboards is a PITA in terms of space, storage, and usb
Looks insanely nice
it may not be 65 or tkl but looking how nice it is i might get it tbf
How does the keyboard feel @sand scarab ?
Like cheap plastic or good plastic?
Oh I don't own it yet. Those are pictures I found on Amazon reviews. I'm going to buy it and switch the keys to jelly pinks
Yes
Hi everyone~
Womier kindly sent me the womier k66 to try out, thanks Womier!
As usual this won't affect my opinion and thoughts about the keyboard!
Hope you enjoy!
Stay cozy & healthy! ♡
S P E C S
womier k66
▸3 layers stacked acrylic low profile case
▸66 keys 65% layout
▸hot swap
▸pcb for south facing switches, supports 3+5pin
▸No interferenc...
This is exactly what they will sound like
Very nice
Bruh so i was about to order the k630
And my mom goes
Why do I need it
Instead of like
A 6-7 dollar membrane keyboard
well it's a better board ... but most of the time a cheap rubber dome will do the job pretty well anyway
if you have the choice between a good mouse or a good keyboard for gaming ... focus on the mouse before the keyboard
Better quality, butter typing experience, better features.
But yes a 5$ membrane would work functionally fine in most cases
specially if you play fps
my best typing keyboard is a compaq membrane board with sliders looking like alps switches
paid 3$ for it used about 20+ years ago
the only keyboard that was better to type on was the model m ... which is another membrane keyboard
it's not really the membrane that is the problem ... it's the rubber dome that act as a "spring"
Huh, I'd love to try an older membrane or buckling spring board. Heard so much about them but never got a chance to try them myself
Me - rhythm games with Model M
Mom - time to sleep son-
Enter earrape
Mom - Nvm, you can stay up for the night
Yea, I'd love too.
Been considering buying one actually but ehh idk
I don't game 💀 i just wanted an impulse buy after i did well on finals and cause i needed a keyboard anyways I thought I'd get a somewhat good one instead
Then yes get something good
One, mech keyboards can be hotswap and so you don't need to swap out an entire keyboard because the f key broke; two better build quality and less prone to switch failure from anything breaking/the hardening of presses overtime; three customisation go brr; four you can adjust typing angle most of the time with adjustable feet (which is surprisingly missing on cheap membranes and very underrated)
customisation more than anything though, as well as a better feel for most people
and if you spill a hot drink, you can always replace the switch affected if you dry out the socket first
mod an rk keyboard
i understand some forms of modding like tape mod and foam mod
and i was thinking of like maybe using caulk to so a resin mod? for like sound dampening?
idrk what its called but like ive seen some ppl doing it with epoxy and i dont really have that
thinking of modding an rk87 like a tkl keyboard or anything better and cheaper
idrk abt keyboards would like yall to enlighten me
:)
I just have a mmo mouse 🤷
Works as well
build thoughts?
I'm promisingly stupid in the keyboard enthusiast space, but if I'm correct that grease would aid in conducting electricity/insulate the stabs from static [electricity]
assumption not fact though
heh I was close, its waterproof and stops corrosion
its topre-
make one with the norbauer case
lmao i may have money but i definitely cannot afford a norbauer
i only have the realforce rn and none of the parts
fair enough 😄
