Has anyone ever modified a commuter backpack and/or knows how to?

I'd really like to get one, it's the right size, and the right price point, but it lacks a lot of normal backpack features that I need.

I regularly skateboard around the city with a friend, so I have gear and an LTT 40 oz water bottle to haul around, so volume isn't a huge concern, but external water bottle holders are (we each carry eachother's water, so we can grab our bottles while rolling).

I also would like a way to attach a Bluetooth speaker to the outside of the backpack. Normally, the cords on the front of a backpack work great, but the commuter doesn't have these. Does anyone know of a velcro strap or something else that could work?

Edit: My bad, I completely forgot the commuter moved the bottle holders outside.

The Comuter backpacks have loops on the side, I use them to latch my water bottle and small umbrella in place so they don't ever fly out.. but would work for a speaker too, just get yourself a carabeaner

it's supposed to be that for the given length, you get the highest power and highest speed.

Sort of... there are quite a few ahem "high speed" cables that definitely are NOT capable of what they advertise because they're way too thin.

Obviously, to support the higher speeds the cables must meet specification, so IMO they're really just trying to say "yeah, these cables actually meet the spec."

As someone who dailies this as a woman, I can see what your thinking but it has an amazing waterproof material (not heavy rain but has kept things dry when I’ve been caught out) that stitching may compromise. I have attached a keyring to one of the hoops to add colour. Also there is a green one coming.

How can it be so different?

3XL says 32 inches which is less than the smallest size of the WAN hoodie (38-41 inches)

Both say they’re body measurements and both have the same graphic to show you how it’s measured

A men's "size 38" jacket is usually around 38-40 inches. This is measured by wrapping a tailor's tape around the fullest part of the chest (usually under the arms.) I think a size 38 jacket in men's is usually around a medium in the US; I learned all of this getting my husband getting sized for a suit lmao

but, I suspect that that size chart is measuring incorrectly or someone whoopsies the numbers.

I have that ifixit kit, (the essential electronics or whatever,) and the screwdriver is significantly worse because it's all plastic. the aluminum one from ifixit is about the same, (aside from the bearing on the LTT one,) but that kit also lacks the other tools.

I do suggest making a "kit," because I find most of those tool kits do not include everything you need and are only a baseline; find out what you want to take part, and build a small kit of those tools specifically.

really the precision kit + tweezer kit + prying kit (spudgers and such,) and a full-size screwdriver like the LTT one is a good baseline. that covers most laptops and computers, including many consumer electronics.

how does one exactly choose the shirt size. The chest size fits XL for me (~47 inches), but the waist gets up to 48-49, so should I better choose a XXL due to that?

You should size up if you prefer loose. I think the larger sizes are true-to-size, though. Not slim fit.

Hello, when placing my order I was told that the estimated taxes would be CA$51 (roughly £26), but have just received an email from UPS telling me that £79 (roughly CA$150) in import fees are due

This is not very nice at all, so please could the checkout have better estimates?

Also I believe the UK “taxes” calculated at checkout is just the 20% VAT, and doesn’t account for import duty fees on packages costing over £135 (goods+shipping). Support will only refund you if you’ve been double taxed, i.e. customs made you pay VAT a second time

At this point it’d be nice if the Shopify checkout warned you of potential import duty fees, based on the value of your order and a basic currency conversion

The Backpack comes in a big box with a customs label already on it declaring its value, so unlikely you’ll avoid import duty on it

Back when I bought mine the WAN Hoodie shipped separately, so that avoided any additional fees
