Many companies do this because of a lack of consumer protection laws, or a lack of upholding existing laws. Transparent Screwdriver received in Norway after 20 days and toll was applied correctly and went without issue.

Screwdriver itself... fit of parts looks consistent with product photography. So good enough, main thing being the gap between ratchet collar and body being kinda wonky, and the cap outer piece being a little loose. Likely due to changes in shrinkage etc impacting the press fit and snaps. The important part is that the ratchet is nice and it's cool to see the insides 😉

the regular one has a texture, but only barely and it does rub smooth if you use the screwdriver a LOT

Hi Guys, whom do I have to contact when my shipment from Canada to Germany was apparently not declared to the customs and is now stuck at the German customs and I (as a private individual) have not chance to declare it correctly as it is above 150 Euros of worth (below 150 Euros I can use the eZoll App). I need to declare it via IZA which asks things like Good numbers, vehicle of shipment license plate or ID of the transport vehicle which crossed the border to Germany and so on. Just the typical German red tape madness. After several calls and on prem visit to the customs for my region / city, My only choice is to decline the delivery , which means the whole shipment goes back to Canada. Result is a shipment which is already 6 weeks ongoing (purchase done 12th of July and customs letter reached me 3 days ago) is probaly again weeks on the way. And I have no goods and need now to talk to someone from LTT Store to get a full refund, also of the Taxes amount, as obviously no proper declaration was done towards the German customs by the shipment provider which LTTStore is using. Very annoying and sad, as I was now waiting 6 weeks for a Backapck, a Screwdriver, a Ridge wallet and a water bottle and last but not least the Sticker pack, just to now have nothing except a lot of hassle.

I had to do that exact thing, it's not soooo horribly hard, there is that guide for the iza, and a web search thing for good numbers, but it takes time... I spend like 2hrs on that... Luckily tho, even if there are many issues with the iza, your local Zoll will correct it (they'll find issues anyways), it just matters that you have an iza at all.

they also f. e. don't really care about what seller you set there, stuff like license plate etc is optional anyways (or can be set as "unknown") etc.

Not sure what you mean but the second remark, but yes, the screwdriver has a little play up and down and has play rotationally when set to the no ratchet mode

I use a flashforge adventurer pro 5M for rapid prototyping, and it's been a rock solid printer. zero issues.

I think it depends on if you also plan on carrying a tablet too

the thicker laptops tend to make getting a tablet in and out of the tablet pocket thing harder

3 year update on the LTT screwdriver. I daily drive this screwdriver at work repairing solar systems. The only issue I've had since purchased is 2 of the orange bit holders have snapped when the screwdriver was dropped. Everything else has held up great. I definitely don't go easy on my tools and this exceeded my expectations.

Any pencil fans happen to have a Schmidt DSM2007 0.7mm and have tried swapping the mechanism on the new scribedriver? Schmidt's site warns that you can't swap 0.5 for 0.7 because the outer diameter is different, but I look on JetPens and they list both all dimensions as equal. Are these things sub-tenth of a millimeter different? I've opened up my pencil and do see it's a tight fit.

as the lead is inside the mechanisn, yes it matters. the outer dimensions are probably kept the same to save on the production cost of the parts that do not differ between the two versions. also to have easier integration and less costs for people wanting to use the mechanism

Fisher includes an adapter to the Parker style the LTT pen uses.

I had a minor issue with mine where the adapter made the insert get stuck in the barrel of the pen, but some sandpaper on the adapter fixed it pretty quickly.

unsure if that's a manufacturing thing on fisher's side or the ltt pen's.

fisher is the only ballpoint pen refill I run because they're the most reliable

I guess, gaming laptops aren't meant to be an every day carry laptop but that's what I use it for now. (Because a year or a year and a half later my situation changed and I'm not buying a new laptop.)

I even done goofed and ordered the backpack before realizing my laptop was 16in and not 15in.

Yeah I almost went framework but at the time a year and a half 2 years ago when I got the laptop (replaced the old one that I spilled water on and the keyboard stopped working) framework did not even have a dedicated GPU yet (and then like soon after they did I think idk?) And it was $1300 for the laptop and mine was half that. I didn't have the money for a framework at the time. I do now but I'm hoping for at least 4-5 years out of the laptop I have now.

I mean first off, contact support and see what they can do, especially if the order hasn't shipped. But the item do have some major differences at the top end, so it is unlikely to be a simple fix.

Completely different mechanisms... mechanical pencils have to grip a 0.5mm or 0.7mm graphite lead. Mechanical pens use a spring loaded mechanism to extend and retract an ink housing. It's not as simple as milling the channel bigger.

Posting to confirm that the mechanical pencil can, indeed, accept the 0.7mm version of the Schmidt DSM 2007:

my emails with Schmidt verified that the "external dimensions" they were warning were different were actually warning that 0.7mm lead and 0.5mm lead were incompatible. The casings are identical

only found the 0.7mm version available to ship to the US at JetPens, so I also picked up some pen refills to try out and qualify for free shipping
