MODS2023 is an internal code as far as I'm aware, the coupon sites just picked it up like they always do. When they do discounts it's the promoted sales like Lime Day, Black Friday, and the occasional promo like the commuter launch. They don't run codes, excluding for things like the 25$ backpack rebate discount and other customer-specific reasons. All public discounts have codes automatically applied and are publicly shown on the store banner (unless someone can think of an instance this isn't true, Linus definitely said on a WAN some years ago they don't do discounts).

The price makes sense for what it is, but it doesn't surprise me that many people are just as happy to save 90$ and go for one of the simpler designs. If I didn't already have a half dozen ltt hoodies I'd consider it though; I prefer having a handful of regularly used high end things over having a bunch of low-mid tier things to cycle through.

I can never go back to cotton kind of good. I highly recommend them and have slowly been coverting family and friends, although knowing they're the bar for ltt socks means those who can wait might get as good+ltt flair for their money (assuming pricing similar to DT).

I might start with a single pair to verify that they are worth it to you though if you're concerned. I started with one thinking theres no way socks can be worth 30cad, received them, then promptly sighed and added another 6 pairs to cart since I knew I was hooked. (A handful of bonus pairs of different weights for different seasons since then too.)

I don’t see the issue with any of the 3 products you listed. All 3 are reasonably priced, the precision driver and modmat especially. So what the precision has a fidget spinner, it’s still INCREDIBLY affordable and has a bit holder unlikely other precision drivers on the market. And even with the commuter, I disagree that it makes no improvements over most other bags. It’s incredibly strong and well-made like the previous bag, and does share some features of the previous bag, like the orange inside.

So I just realized this: My order was sent all at once in 3 shipments. (2x backpack, 2x precision driver, 1 screwdriver and 1 deskpad) I wasn't allowed to ask for multiple shipments and now it turns out they are sending 3 shipments. For efficiency purposes they could have sent me separate shipments already. I might pass that feedback on to them as I think it could have been 2 shipments saving them money even.

Fly with the OG LTT backpack regularly (2-4 flights per month, all major US airlines), never had an issue. Does what it was designed to do and fits under the seat in front of you.

Did have to put it in the overheads once, not because it wouldn't fit under the seat, but because my duffel bag wouldn't fit in the overheads. Never seen overheads as small as on that plane.

Yeah, I was kinda pissed. My in-flight entertainment (tablet with movies downloaded and Sony WH1000XM4) was in the LTT bag, so I couldn't get them. And the flight attendant acted like I should have known the overheads would be so tiny.

Learned my lesson though. Always put the headphones on before boarding and get the tablet out just in case.

Cost may well be part of it, but its also more durable, less prone to shrinkage compared to pure cotton, less prone to wrinkling, and better for maintaining colour vibrancy. Different moisture wicking properties too. I much prefer my poly blend t shirts to my 100% cotton ones as well, so theres some subjectivity around comfort as well.

Couple initial thoughts on the commuter. It's like the offsite bag. Extremely tight fits on everything. Use the storage in the laptop compartment and you can't use the storage pockets in the front compartment. Also, mine seems to have a deformity where Anytime I load a water bottle in the front compartment crumples (as seen in the pic) also the main zippers are so touuuugh. The smaller pouches that use zippers use extremely small pulls.

Oh and also, I have big wide shoulders. The straps seem so so so small on me. At max length, it still doesn't feel like enough for a comfortable fit

I travel to Canada relatively regularly, and I honestly considered just having my orders shipped to wherever I'm going next and packing the stuff home.

I get the impression the Linus stance is he'll deliver on whatever price you paid so no customer is gonna get surprise bills based on the tariff mess. So if pre-tariffs it cost him 10 dollars to make a shirt he sells to you for 20 dollars, it costs you 20 dollars and everyones happy. If the fallout of tariffs is suddenly it now costs him 20 dollars to make the shirt, it still costs you 20 dollars, and he's less happy because he's no longer profiting, but he's still gonna honour those orders. If the fallout is shirts suddenly cost him 50 dollars to make, he'll go pretyt pale and you can bet your biscuits the shirts will either be removed from the store or the price will be hiked to 50+, but anyone who had an existing order for 20 dollar shirts would still get their shirts for 20 dollars rather than get an unexpected bill for 30+ or having their order cancelled.

Of course, this is just my impression of things, but that seems most in line with the things Linus has expressed over the years and on wan there.

60x60, the small size, is intended for 1 consumer CPU application. You'd have to trim it to size, but unless you have something crazy like a threadripper it should fit a normal CPU (check measurements). The larger size is if you intend to do multiple CPUs or components, you can buy a larger sheet instead of a bunch of small ones.

If you're doing your GPU make sure to do research on that. They're less friendly than CPUs.

Tracking numbers have gone from security concern levels of specific to completely useless over time. They need to let us tie our name+address to a password protected account (like FedEx) and give us all the specifics like we used to.

I got the commuter mainly cuz og was so heavy and was prone to tip over and also the external bottle saves space.
