While Parker-style G2 refills are sold with ballpoint, hybrid, and gel ink, no mainstream model is a rollerball. This would be a water-based ink with a wick system to feed the rolling ball at the end. The closest you can get to a rollerball in a Parker-style refill is a gel ink model, like the Parker Quink Gel.

There is some value to credit card stuff fwiw. there's not much more you can make custom on a pen imo, the knurling is definitely from rejected screwdrivers and they have the LTT logo on whatever the bolt action part is called

I will say the knurling is much weaker than on a screwdriver to make it hurt less while holding it and the overall diameter of the pen is very thin, not the best to write with

I have bit of a rant. Why does LTT store shipping suck? My $100 order shipped on the 20.08, shipping to EU was $29.99. It is still in transit with last leg delivery using notoriously bad national postal service. Meanwhile on the September 8 I ordered $100 worth of stuff from dbrand, standard shipping was free, expedited $10. I chose expedited and it arrived today, FedEx to my doorstep. Both orders shipped from Canada to the same place in EU. I feel like maybe LTT should call up dbrand for some pointers on shipping. Rant over.

LTT shipping is expensive because shipping is expensive. Do you think FedEx would ship whatever you bought from LTT to the EU for $10? Canada charges insane carbon taxes that make shipping expensive, it costs about $20 to send a small package from Ontario to BC.

It’s not really about the price, it is more about price to quality. Ltt 30$ shipping is still in transit after nearly a month. Dbrand 10$ expedited shipping arrived after just one week. I get that in dbrand case, it is most likely subsidized or factored into the price of the items or they just got a better bargain. What I would like to see is an option for expedited shipping for Ltt. If I knew beforehand last leg shipping would be handled by national post I would definitely opt for expedited shipping. I most of EU countries national post is kind of shit and stuck in the past with infrastructure build for letters and not packages.

Valid feedback. We actually also benefit from similar arrangements to Dbrand. The difference is due to the majority of the cost of shipping being determined by weight/volume.

Most of Dbrand's products are very small and very light (you really can't get much lighter than vinyl stickers and phone cases). If you're paying $30 for shipping on lttstore that means your parcel exceeds roughly 1.5-2 kg; that's probably anywhere from double to quadruple Dbrand's average; perhaps more. Because of that they're also able to offer faster/expedited options at a lower price too.

As far as a "premium" shipping tier goes, we totally hear the demand for that but by doing so we probably reduce the outgoing shipping volume on the existing method. That could potentially lead to us having to raise the price on the standard shipping method. Most of the time when you have a contract with a shipping company they expect you to do a certain volume for the year; the pricing is based on that expectation and if you ship more, you pay less per shipment. So right now our strategy is to try to improve the existing shipping tier over time so that everyone benefits. There's more than one valid approach to this so this is just the one we've been doing so far. I can't speculate on whether that might change in the future but we hear you!

I might be in the minority here but UPS is the company I actively avoid shipping with. They've caused me so much grief at multiple locations

USPS is the best overall / for general shipping. FedEx and DHL are very solid though and I use them for some instances

Alright- time for my review of the ifixit pr- Linus Tech Tips Precision screwdriver and bit set. The foam holding the bits themselves seems looser than the ifixit Mako bit set, but that may just be because I did violently shake both to see how bits are held.

The LTT case is gamechangingly smaller, as it actually fits inside of the tech sack vs the same Mako set. The bottom of the case also has magnets in the corners allowing for easy travel between benchtops if you need to work on multiple projects. The hinges on the case are also held in place with magnets to stop it from sliding off while open.

The driver does spin as advertised and works well for installing screws in most cases, but i would liked to have seen a thinner neck at the end where the bit goes in for tighter spaces. Otherwise it's a great upgrade over ifixit's metal driver due to the bit storage.

Note- the ifixit precision driver does not fit into the ltt precision bit set case.

If you can get the zipper back on the track, you should theoretically be able to close both sides up to the part that's separated.

If you have some sewing skills, it is possible to un-stitch the zipper track at the end and re-join the zipper from there, but since the track itself is broken you'll need to be cautious when opening/closing to not have the zipper come off the track again.

Truthfully I've always figured that I will use a credit card as follows:

1. Similarly to a debit card in that I want to pay it off as quickly as possible
2. Take my current bank account balance and subtract that amount in a spreadsheet, use that amount when making financial decisions
3. Don't use a credit card for things that are too expensive because of the interest

That way I can just use it as something to build credit

If you can stick to this, it's a good plan. Eventually it’s going to get uncomfortable with any bag with enough weight, since the weight is there, it’s just a matter of how well the bag puts that weight onto you. In my experience, the LTT backpack is the most comfortable backpack I’ve ever tried; Carrying the same exact amount of things in it, vs. any of my previous bags, it FEELS lighter and more comfortable because of the way it rests on the shoulders and back

it shouldn't hurt too much, and i've carried a bunch of heavy stuff in it. what i will say is that it hurts if your straps are completely loosened, because then you are feeling a lot of pressure over the much narrower width of the bottom parts of the straps, which aren't padded at the bottom.

you don't need your straps completely tight if you like them a little loose, but just make sure they're not too loose so the weight you feel on your shoulders is distributed through the wide parts of the straps with the foam square padding.

this is a somewhat common thing btw. whats the first thing a bad person does when they steal a card? test it, often by buying something cheap. After that youll often see a large transaction or a lot of high impulse purchases

I've had inconsistent experience with LTT pants. The sweatpants and joggers had a weird fit where if I bought a size that fit my waist the legs would be super baggy and low crotch like it's expecting me to be taller. But the lounge pants and pajama pants are amazing

not quite cargo pants but do have extra pockets and loops, I often keep a tourniquet, chest seals, and packing guaze in one side pocket, other side pocket often has a screwdriver and hammer
