Yeah it mostly comes up re:EU warehouse, but same arguments around an Austrailian warehouse apply. It's not "never" as they continue to grow, but its not likely any time soon, and doesnt solve the problem that many people think a local to their region warehouse would. It would be a net benefit to purchasers since shipping times would be much shorter/cheaper, but all of the additional overhead would mean the base item cost was correspondingly higher so the price you pay at the end would be basically the same.

Although in this instance it seems like the issue is less about shipping pains and more about the relative strength of the AUD.

Lttstore doesn't run permanent coupons the way some other stores do. Sales are uncommon, and usually limited time or tied to specific customers. There were a few during the stream yesterday, but they're all gone now afaik.

Coupon-curating sites/extensions are cool in theory, but they don't account for how or why a given coupon was created. So they're often ripe with non-existent, expired or limited coupons.

I have the WAN Hoodie and it doesn't bother me, but I primarly use it as a light jacket, so I don't lounge in it, which could be a difference. It was in development and I think they thought it was close because there was a lot of WAN mention for it, but probably saw a setback. Chances they kill that are slim to none though. Just a waiting game at this point.

Linus has sort of covered this on WAN on various occasions. Despite how successful they are in the tech YouTube space, they're a tiny fish in global industry, and their reach to the average person is quite small still. So while they move good volumes, they can't just sit on thousands of units (got minimum order quantities to deal with) of every product in their warehouse. Products get developed because they're good, and tend to get discontinued after a while to make room for new ones (excluding extreme R&D products like backpack and screwdriver). They bring back things that make sense when they can, but it can take a while for them to decide to place a new order or to get that order once placed; not to mention supplier issues such as when their shirt printing became unavailable for a while. I've seen some comments about it around, and personally the thing I think is their biggest problem on that front is how they handle what's listed on lttstore.com. Out-of-stock products often stay on the site for months after running out, until being erased from the internet completely. It's kind of a double-edged sword. There's no archival for people who want to go back and look at the info for products they bought, but the store still has tons of products that aren't coming back listed, making it look like it's poorly stocked rather than intentional. I'd be nice if they had a product archive page tucked away somewhere and just removed listings when they have no intention of restocking soon, but that's obviously a very nitpicky suggestion of me.

I'd actually consider that a different issue. You'll see the same thing with the mystery T-shirt, which is basically always out of stock in common sizes like large. Their "mystery" products actually just serve to move deadstock (which they're up front about somewhere, idr if it's written or was said somewhere). "Mystery" water bottle, lanyard, desk pad, t-shirt, plaid flannel, etc., just lets them sell the versions of those products that have been sitting for a while at a discount to get them out of the warehouse.

Basically like, if a color of something isn't moving it goes in there. So their stock tends to be sporadic.

While I'm sure there are margins (otherwise they wouldn't be selling it) they're not as large as you think... Especially given that the ratcheting mechanism is modified from another already well-known brand of screwdriver of high quality in the industry. I own an LTT screwdriver, a mid-tier $49 CAD ratcheting wrench set, and a piece of shit $12 CAD Princess Auto multibit mini screwdriver. For me, they rank from best to worst, in that order.

The older blanks are from American Apparel, and are 50/50 cotton/polyester. The new blanks are custom, and are 60/40. They're a bit thicker, have better quality control and I've found that they run a bit looser (though ymmv depending on size). The changeover happened ~2 years ago, though it appears they found some leftovers.

They're just different use cases, wouldnt really say one is better. Sometimes a longer shaft is useful, sometimes its problematic in tight spaces. Also more in handle storage for the full size iirc which can be convenient. I also find stubbys aesthetically displeasing so I have a full size, but thats super subjective.

They're different screwdrivers for different scenarios. Need an everyday screwdriver? Buy the regular one. It'll feel better in your hands. Need a screwdriver to access tight spaces? Buy the stubby. It fits small spaces.

I kinda agree but if they make stuff like that its clearly not for me. I apreciated the backpack and some of the other stuff. But honestly clothes are very subjective stuff and i prefer to wear custom logo t shirts to anything at big stores. The biggest issue in this case is the quality of the shirt and the fit. I think, and expected, they could have priced the pen higher.. but at this price point is has a serious chance of becoming a viable permanent product. If and when they get through all the bad shafts, I'd imagine they could even get the company making the new shafts to make most of the pen there, for cheaper than its costing them currently (since atm its takes 2 shafts per pen, and cause at scale they can like save a lot on what is currently having to be manually milled down). So long term this could become a good product for LMG..

I bet they got a lot of multi-pen orders too at this price, vs just selling singles.. I know they got 2 from me, one each 🙂

She wasn't much into the designs ltt carries though and now that they got rid of the fancy colours even less so. Its not, or at least not parts from the screwdrivers.. its possible LMG has/aquired some brass that was intended for other uses for these.. but I wouldn't imagine that being likely.. that said, metal on metal, scuffs happen.. though from the image its looks deformed more than scuffed o_0

The bolt action on the Scribedrivers is almost as smooth as my Fellhoelter... and much smoother than my Tactile Turn. That's amazing.
