I keep a massive Noco jump-starter/power inverter in the bottom of the holding compartment, so that tech sack is right there at the top of it-

Been daily driving the backpack for almost a year now, and it has been fantastic. I carry all sorts of tools/items for my job in it, and it holds 27ish pounds of stuff super comfily!

I keep the tech sack, jump starter, and basic PPE in the main compartment (some in the milwaukee bag, the rest in the main compartment zipper compartment), tools in the front pocket, and various writing utensils/notebooks/longer tools in the back compartment.

My only real gripe with this pack has been that the sunglasses pocket capacity is really small. Probably good for stand alone sunglasses, but I use Milwaukee polarized safety glasses, and they are way too big to fit in the pocket when the main compartment is full.

its significantly cheaper, uses the same patented bit holder, and the same but slightly differently tuned ratcheting mechanism. Main difference is probably the mold and shape or the magnet strength which is very different between the 2

Meanwhile my backpack had its first proper outing yesterday and it was great

Kept a hooded coat and a leather jacket in there (not a small jacket either, I'm almost 2 metres tall), battery pack (in the main section, it's too thick really for the side pocket), drink, Kindle, wallets, and I kept my torches attached to both shoulder straps

Carried it all afternoon without complaint

Yes, I have three that I keep around; when I was first trying it out I put two of the pouches on the loops of the shoulder straps and just kept them there

When the sun went down I took the leather jacket out, I used a torch when it got very dark, charged my phone with the cable through the bag, carabiners held it closed, just generally glad I used it

It was a while ago but I recall Linus went into detail about the dishwasher thing with the bottles; dishwashers can compromise the bead that maintains the insulation vacuum

Basically the torches that I have came with pouches with a belt loop attachment with Velcro on it. I looped it around one of the attachment points on the shoulder straps

In the backpack video I believe Linus suggests if you had a radio or a compass or something you needed quick access to it's a good spot to attach to, and here I can reach for them quite well

But if you had a lantern with an adjustable neck that would also be a great spot for it if you have an attachment method, then you could tilt the light forwards and absolutely have it shine in front of you unassisted

I have Nitecore torches and I'm sure they do make some with adjustable necks

It's a tool and as such some minor scratches shouldn't matter. You will use it and add your own scuffs. Enjoy the tool and use it as much as you can. But I too did notice some imperfections on my driver as well but I have already logged a lot of time with it and it ended up not matterig a bit.
