The screwdriver quality is in line with or even better then what a $70 screwdriver ouaght to be for that price. If you're concerned its not up to megapro or wera standards then don't worry, its competitive or better. If on the other hand you basically never use a screwdriver, then spending that kind of money on a screwdrover might be overkill and you'd be fine with a random dollerstore thing.

It’s worth it but just know that it might arrive slightly dinged up, mine has a few minor scratches by the ratchet selector and some super minor wear on the handle and shaft but nothing that detracts from the screwdriver itself and it still functions amazingly and looks great they did a great job

Depends on how often you need a screwdriver of that type. Personally I use more precision drivers so I get less use out of it but when I do need it it is perfect and extremely fast and it works great.

If you’re a hiker, it works good for short hikes for gear, as the vid you saw is me packing my camera in the bag. With longer hikes, best to get a bag designed for hiking.

LLT bag is a travel bag and its great. I grew up on the southern Oregon coast in a town of 2500 people, it’s my default “visit my parents and brother” bag

It’s nicest backpack I’ve owned even more so than my hiking packs but totally differ use case.

I got the sweatshirt, some other shirts and a water bottle like a year and a half ago and I liked them so much I've been slowly replacing everything in my wardrobe with LTT gear. Yeah the value is based on usefulness, which depends on what sort of stuff you want to do. In the other direction, consider a scaled up 10x version of the screwdriver - That certainly wouldn't be the best value, even if it 'only' cost 2x as much, since it'd be completely unwieldy and only exist as a novelty, rather than a no brainer best value thing.

They do want to do EU warehouse eventually, but its a massively complicated undertaking, and also won't benefit the final price EU customers ultimately pay by much. The base price of EU stuff would just end up higher, so instead of paying for 330 worth of goods+130 shipping/import taxes, you might end up paying 430 for the goods and 20 for shipping or something like that. Your shipping times would be much faster is main benefit for a eu warehouse, but things still cost what they cost to get there.

Linus talked about it on the last WAN show. In terms of manufacturing cost it’s only marginally cheaper to make than the full-sized screwdriver. It uses the exact same ratchet system, everything else is just smaller. It’s definitely not going to be the tool for everyone, it’s a specialized screwdriver to applications where space is an issue. So if you NEED a small screwdriver, this is a great option. If you don’t need a small one, the big one is great.

Speaking of which I’ve been using the LTT screwdriver to replace power outlets throughout my house. It’s made the task a breeze.

Not at all. The other zippers are fine. With that one it was literal put any pressure on the moving part, it literally would pop out of the close position. It got really bad the last 3 days as in if you looked at it would just pop out. Then it went.

Sorry for the delay. My use case is that, I don't use it every day. I work from home but go to the library and grocery store, and when I go out I take it with me because I never know when I might need my laptop and/or some other stuff. I'd say I'm a moderate user in that I use it 3-5 times a week.

Also, I'm a pretty careful person. I've only ever broken one laptop screen, one cell phone screen and one smartphone screen in my entire life. This is over the course of 30+ years. I don't break many things.

Oh and probably only broke 3 backpacks over that time too. My last backpack lasted 10+ years.

I run things into the ground. I see things as cost per day usually. For backpacks, I think buying a good one that lasts should be around $100-$200 (given that LTT is a bit over, I was ok with the price). So, if the LTT backpack lasts me 5 years, then it was about 14 cents a day. Let's hope it holds up that long, which I'm sure it will.

Ehhhh the 21oz bottle is a larger diameter than a regular plastic water bottle, so it won't fit unless your water bottle holder can adjust in size slightly.

It's a screw driver with the exact same system as a mass produced design. There's no chance at all that it has any actual water resistance besides what naturally is in metals. If you get it wet dry it fast with a blowdryer or something. It's not really sealed at all.

On the subreddit a few posts of it leaning over have cropped up now and then. It's too bad it loses effectiveness but hopefully when it's got stuff in it still holds its shape well. A bag actually being able to stay standing is actually quite a selling point

Yeah I wish the shipping were better too; I had to take advantage of the free shipping when I could. I have other things I want to get from the store as well but those will have to wait. I want the cable management stuff, a towel and a water bottle and I may just eat the shipping on those when the time comes

My husband uses it for work and loves it. He hasn't had any issues with it. It also survived flying with us on our recent trip.

He's had it for about a year or just a little under it. But he was way more comfortable with a full backpack at LTX than I was with my travel backpack. He had it on for several hours during the day and while we did some sight seeing in Vancouver.

A lot of people saw the carabiners on the zippers and were hanging stuff on them. And the carabiners were wearing out. I've also seen some of the zippers coming off but in my experience it's been tight. I carry 2 laptops every day to and from work and it fits mine quite well. The whole pack is also very well padded to protect them both from the outside and each other.

Same! I work in live production and mine has been wearing like iron. My other backpack is the kitchen sink by Oakley. That backpack is much larger and slightly awkward. I've been thoroughly enjoying the switch to this for all the tech I carry every day.

To be honest the LTT backpack is too big. I'm thinking of switching to a peak design 20L after attending to LTX

Yeah the original intent was just to clip both zipper sides together so you could have e.g. a badminton racket sticking out without the rest of the bag potentially shaking open, not as something load bearing. That isn't necessarily how people have been using it, but so it goes.

Calling it a “carabiner ring pull” was a mistake because people think “carabiner” and want to hang stuff off it

I was intending to wait until the bags started shipping with the new pulls but when the free shipping happened I thought I'd just go for it. I'll receive the new pulls when they're ready anyway and at least I'll get to experience the originals, and they can hang around for as long as they last and I'll keep the replacements in the bag for when the time comes anyway

In all seriousness, I took some fun pics of the guts of the screwdriver 😁. I'm actually kinda surprised at the voids inside the shaft. I would have assumed the magnet would be bottomed out, instead there's a void behind it, and the shaft itself seems to be made of 2 parts.
