Just watch out for the touchpad. Ours is a bit funky, so a mouse is an absolute must, which is a shame, since I actually like working with a touchpad. And we had some sound issue, but that was probably due to the firmware not always being updated promptly (which was due to Windows' aggressive auto-updates from 10 to 11, and getting tired of downgrading once in a month). Other than that all the hardware is great!

I always watched ltt for its coverage of price to performance aka bang for your buck. things like overclocking lower grade hardware for better performance than the overpriced shit. now its just overpriced audiophile gear when most good peripherals are under $100 but they usually cover things from $200-$2000, though I think alot of that is driven by affiliate revenue

The course correction is slowly happening. Indie gaming is booming once again like it did back at the dawn of the PC gaming movement. Big players in graphics will stop seeing demand for their higher end cards over time as the prices rise and the improvements get lesser, game graphics will continue to stagnate, a greater focus on improving efficiency of the existing APIs we have will continue to drive down the performance entry level of new games as time goes on, and eventually we may actually see a whole new wave of graphics companies launching cards and competing once again.

Why the hell should I have to pay US$200 more (at MSRP) just to have the privilege of a chance at owning an RTX5080 over my US friends?

My currency is worth $1.24 right now. For the MSRP to be identical, they'd have to drop the price in the UK by over £170 just to even put the price close to on a fair playing field

As mentioned, you can already do this using a server bot (we use one in a different server, it even does fun stuff like replacing swear words with other harmless ones, like b..lueberry or s...tatecraft). It automods comments, and certain messages (like obvious bot/scam..etc) get flagged immediately and timing out accounts long enough for mods to review the situation. I doubt DC will ever really make a feature for this, as banned words, phrases, contents etc are so heavily dependent on the server itself (and some words/phrases/topics might just be banned temporarily, DC would have no good control over that).
It's basically just like Twitch bots/moderation. It's up to the streamer's/mod's/community's standards what they deem acceptable and not acceptable in chat (with maybe some globally blocked words).

Oh, Romanian is definitely closer to Latin, considering they had a major language overhaul based on Latin about 100-150 years ago (plus they have a lot of Russian mixed in, which is why I personally prefer the sound of Romanian to any other one of the romance languages).
French is based on vulgar Latin/Northern Latin as opposed to the Latin used by Romans, and yes, it mattered that the Gauls and Germanic tribes (Franks) left their footprint on the language very heavily (imagine it like English spoken in India for example - they have a distinct word usage that is reminiscent of how they speak Hindi, and they passed down this version of English for generations).
And you're right, there's also the later Celtic and Viking influence, especially on the North of France and in Belgium.

I'd understand it more if it weren't a multi-year-running podcast that brings in thousands of dollars each show.

Mics are about the size of phones. And that last part is a problem. Again, it's a podcast.

I like tuning in, but it needs to sound enjoyable. Not garbled, tinny, intermittent and distorted.

As for audio, the issue is for whatever reason when Luke and Linus take trips they seem allergic to taking a PROPER mic with them to use for wanshow.. hence they end up with airpods or webcam mices and it sounds poor.. I donno why they make that call, unless its just as simply as when they take these trips, its their vacation, and WANShow is just something they do as an extra, rather than considering it work..

I'm with Apple on this one.. its the best solution to a lot of bad options.. Simply pulling out of the UK, and then every other country that demands it, is not realistic, not at that scale.. what happens when the EU does it? And of course adding a backdoor is simply not an acceptable option.. one which I'm happy to see is a line in the sand Apple has stuck too..
