Let's be honest, if they did do Wan Show today. There would have been people that would have tried to bait Linus, Luke and even Dan into saying something. Just to make sure they didn't accidentally answer something that could further fan the current PR nightmare fire.

So. Do we think they'll reduce their production schedule a bit and maybe do some firings of inapproprately behaving staffers? Or do we think that it'll be more of a warning and future perfomance review thing for the later?

Reducing the regular video production schedule could allow for higher quality over quantity. Less burnout potential too.

One thing may also have contributed to the other too. High stress environments can lead to a kind of gallow's humour 'we're on the front lines! Down in the trenches!' vibe in an office.

It's always a difficult thing to fully prove.

But the level of production requirements the whole company has, the crunch, you could see people getting into a mode of speaking...

Not acceptable, at all, of course, but I can see how it could come about.

It always relies on proper oversight and messaging from above on what is acceptable behaviour to try and nip such cultures rising in the bud. Also to actually show that consequences for inappropriate behaviour can occur.

The less it's supervised and controlled for, the more it grows.

But, again, when it gets down to 'he said she said' mechanics...

It's very difficult.

A single source of information is never enough, and some form of hard evidence is a requirement (although sometimes diffcult to obtain).

Anyway, enough of my musings. Hopefully they course correct well enough after this and reduce some of that crunch.

Final note: *If inappropriate behaviour is ever coming from the top, though...

That can be the death knell for achieving order and balance in the workplace.

All bets are off if the boss(es) is/are at it without anything happening to them.

I write all this as I, possibly ironically, drink from my LTT Water bottle that I got bought as a present for my 40th Birthday by one of my oldest friends. He got it for me here in the UK because I couldn't ever justify the shipping costs 😅

Exactly why no Wan Show this week is a great idea. People know that Linus can be kneejerk emotional, especially right now. They will try to bait him both with merch messages and in Floatplane/Twitch chat. Right now, he would likely either blow up at them for badgering him about it or take the bait and answer something he shouldn't.

Some more nuanced people may also try to bait Luke and Dan in more not immediately clear ways. If they are not as on guard about it, they could easily slip up as well.

That said, a lot of the stuff has been a problem that has been building for them for a while. I expected it would eventually reach a point where it would be no longer avoidable piece by piece. I just didn't expect it to come to a head all at once.
