I think 98% of what GN said is valid and prudent criticism of LTT, but the mischaracterization of the situation about the Bilit Labs peice is a big slap in the face of what GN was trying to do. I am not an expert in this, just know some stuff. The problem with YT (and any other) algorithm is, it is not short term. If it sees that channel X makes 1 video a week, which is long and almost noone clicks on that, and people barely watch that all the way, it would hurt the channel's new videos, because "what if this video is just as bad as that previous one? Let's show it to smaller number of people..."

That's why creators create separate channels for VODs, clips, videos, sometimes even for shorts.

Ideally I'd go at least 32 GB of RAM.
If you're building your bro a desktop he can do most intense work on there and really only needs the laptop for notes and lighter project work with friends.

Though, I guess in the Netherlands I don't know the dorm situation there...
But in the US, having something where its under warranty when your roomy cracks the screen or spills a beverage on your laptop is a bit of a godsend.

(Source: I worked on campus IT at my university for four years, pretty well the single most important features of laptops were good warranty coverage and having a backup of your work.
So, make sure you brother has an external and is smart about using it.)

Dell Complete Care (I think maybe Support Pro Plus now or something) was the best warranty game in town at the time.
They would basically do next day repair.
And, when you're panicking because your computer is busted, you don't actually have a real income, and you have a paper due in 2 days, this is about the only feature that really matters.

I very often want to know solid data they used to come to their conclusion so I can evaluate if it’s the same conclusion I would have come to.
