Looking for help: Why does youtube sometimes recommend me to watch a video that I watched a month ago when it just released. On phones like the S22, if you turn on data usage access for "my files" it will differentiate between "system" files and "apps". Before I turned this on it reported "System" as using 70GB. After turning this setting on "System" now reports as 35GB and the rest is reported under "Apps".

Bing's LLM isn't anything to write home about. LLMs are liars, well trained Bullsh**ers. Don't trust them, ever

an LLM doesn't really know what it's talking about. It's entirely guessing what words will seem to make the most sense, regardless if they are true or not.

I do find it interesting, but not near enough to start using bing instead of duckduckgo

Bing's chatbot does have current internet access, which can make it more useful. Assuming you decide to trust it's answers. Do you remember getting burned by Google's answers a few years back? Everybody's got a story. I don't think Bing or ChatGPT is any different

Yeah was using it right now to help put together a paper and I had to go back and rewrite it a bunch a) because it was very confidently wrong and b) clearly not my writing style. Still it did help me get the ball rolling so to speak so that was nice.

Also I already have made the switch to bing back in the old Edge days before they were built on chromium. I discovered that using the reward points I could pretty reliably not have to pay for game pass and that was a good deal for me.

One thing that I’m still working on is the advance search syntax. I was pretty good with it on google and less so with bing. But if bing is going to be chat powered in the near future I guess I can just “talk” to it so that’s nice

It’s going to be interesting to see how this shakes out. Hope they don’t have another zune/iPhone moment

I'm watching the WAN show from Dec 30, 2022 and they're talking about how the US jurisdictional is a mess. My favorite example is the Little Rock Nine, where Pres Eisenhower dispatched the US Army to protect the students, and the Governor of Arkansas dispatched the Arkansas National Guard (which is normally under his sole control) to stop the students from entering the school. (There is a means to nationalize federalize the national guards (yes, it's a weird name because they're state-based, not national), and Eisenhower did go through that procedure with the Arkansas National Guard, but it's not a permanent thing and just amusing to me that it needed to be done at all because the US states each have their own Armies, Airforces, and Navies under the control of the Governor of that state and not under the control of the President.)

Also, tax jurisdictions can go below (or even outside) the county level. Municipalities can have their own taxes (though usually not sales tax) and there can be "tax zones" that aren't the whole county or could span areas, but not all of multiple counties. The company I work for just outsources all of this to a service that provides us the taxes for a sale at the time of sale and then we collect the money and that company does the payments to the jurisdictions. It's honestly crazy.

I would expect the same system size on a fresh S23 Ultra 256GB vs 1TB. But a quick look at the source code indicates that the 1TB will be bigger.

Limit of 5 chat exchanges per thread, Bing chat will prohibit conversations about itself and refuse to respond to questions involving human emotions. There is also a hard limit on daily conversations now
