I just think Linus took it personally at the time when people asked him why there was no official warranty on the back pack. That's why he overreacted to it. I'm on the side of GN here. The trust me bro shirt was insulting after what had happened. In the past Linus has said companies are not your friends. They're their to make money. So don't try to presume that LMG is your friend. Trust but verify, and a written warranty is how you verify.

I don't know if this helps with the whole "Warranty" thing, but let me give you an example of something that happened recently with a different company.

I had a KitchenAid toaster oven that was a few years old. Warranty is only good for a year on their products, unless you purchase an extended one.

Well, my toaster oven decided one day to POP and start a fire where the convection fan is (food didn't catch on fire, it was faulty wiring that finally went POOF.) If I had just gone by the Warranty, I would not have contacted KitchenAid for this, as it is well over a year old.

My mom and aunt convinced me to call them....and they sent me a brand new oven (that cost 3x as much as what I paid as well).

Warranties aren't always the end all, be all. It's a company willing to stand by their product that ultimately makes things good or bad.

I really think LTT has stood by all their items, at least so far. Besides the delay in support tickets as of late, they usually have gotten back to me relatively soon and made me feel good about contacting them with my issues.

TL:DR - LTT is a company that does actually care for their customers. Warranties don't mean much in the long run as long as companies care more about their customers.
