especially when some part of a song is mixed to sound a bit gross/raw/dirty on purpose
oh yeah I EQ them
the scale of things is insane tho
its like wearing speakers
500 for 2. I don't know the range of where the diminishing return is tho
Sick, when the whole lineup is wifi enabled ill probably be shopping for one
I'd never get something wireless that you can't replace the batteries on
that is so expensive
Ilouds aren't gonna fit underneath there
At the rate of improvement, i am ok with buying a brand new pair after 6 years that is an upgrade. Selling my dacs/amps is enough for me to buy 3
I wouldn't recommend HE1000 Unveiled as main headphone tbh, especially not if you can't EQ
$500 is a good sweet spot. There's just not that many speakers that are that compact.
Mackie cr2-x and creative pebbles are the only ones I can think of that are that small.
HE1000 Unveiled is what I wanted HD800s to be
They're bigger than I thought
I'm excited to try the ADX7K
Can't I rotate them 90 degrees? I have about 13 cm of hight between my desk and monitor
Finally a well received good Audio technica since years ago
No they wont sound good
Technically you can, but you're gonna be messing with the speakers
Might need a soundbar
The reflection from the desk is gonna make them sound way worse
Gonna make your $300 speakers sound like $50 speakers.
Got it, that will make the selection of speakers a lot smaller
Tres interesting formfactor
This one might be a tight squeeze under the monitor
Common issue with multi monitor setups unfortunately, speaker stands help a lot
The speakers are about 16 cm
The subwoofer they have is meant to be used as a monitor riser so maybe that'll fix it?
Oh wait nevermind you got a desk mount
The problem with that is that I have a standing desk that already is a tight squeeze with my bookshelf
Can the sub be placed on the ground????
No. The sub has a pretty high crossover point of 280hz so you really should put it in between the two speakers
That is going to be challenging
Maybe not these then...
Yeah like i said. There's just not a lot of compact speakers out there.
theres also adam d3v
Too tall
I am considering making space for the right one between my pc and monitor. The left one will still be iffy tho
hate to say this, but you might have to go soundbar
you have voicemail
Ya
I have to set it up but I dont care that much
Only spam callers leave me voicemails
I think I can fit these moving my monitors a bit, 165 mm in height.
https://www.thomann.nl/auratone_5c_super_sound_black.htm
do you have a receiver?
these ones are passive, you'll need something to power them
and something to connect your PC to the receiver
How good is SSC? I got the Buds FE but my main phone is a Motorola, I'm wondering if its worth pulling my Samsung out
I've just been using AAC
I have seen active models that are new. I wouldn't be opposed to having a receiver
But with receiver and all. Are these speakers meant to be just the two of them or in bigger speaker setup
Its decent. Its nothing compared to wired, but its much better than aac or sbc
AAC i can deal with but SBC is so bad, I'll probably pull out my samsung and see how big of a difference there is
Hey guys, just wanted to hear opinions on the Sennheiser momentum 4s, how do they sound like compared to XM3?
been doing some self research, seems like people say its a good upgrade
I would rather recommend hdb 630
ahh i see, its outta my budget range
so far from my own research, it seems the Momentum 4's would be a good choice
also heard of the Bowers & Wilkins Px8
as an anc headphone, its alright
that is terrible
oh and i do wanna point out that i dont really use ANC of ambient mode on these headphones, i only toggle them when needed like when i have people over or if i let my pets roam around freely because of noise
on a normal day, i just have the xm3 powered on and used in wired mode into my computer
has anyone compared the momentum 4s to the Sony XM6?
As someone who went from XM3 to XM6, i hated the XM6, the siblance
if we are comparing m4 to all headphones, its very mediocre
but within the anc headphone space, its alright
Hmm, what if we're comparing the XM4s to it?
xm4 belongs in the depths of hell
i disliked the xm6 at first but my mind was changed after a week
the px8 is just bad, the px7 s3 is much better
Thats good to see, i liked the audio when i use it on my phone, but personally i found the headphone to be a little too uncomfortable, it was unusable for me in competitive shooters because it felt like all the sounds came in at once and the siblance hurt my ears alot especially when flashbangs or gunshots come out
you mentioned that you had some discomfort with the sony's? the sennheiser cups are pretty shallow as well
the xm3 and xm4's earcups are fine, mainly the XM6s were what i had issues with
i see. i wouldnt use them for gaming anyway, they are mainly my public headphones
ive used the same headphones for gaming for like 7 years
Damn! thats a pretty long time, what headphones u use for gaming?
nothing crazy. Phillips SHP 9500s, ive just liked the feeling and the sound of them
wtf is this shit
Sweet
yeah sure get momentum 4
Can SSC handle lossless formats or no? I know there is some bt codecs that claim to, though I am still skeptical
it does yea
compare it to the sony's. Man wants a big bass shelf, that's the benchmark
It can handle up to 32bit-float 96khz apparently, but compared to an analog dsp its slightly lower than the equivalent value on that. But its still much better than AAC by a long shot ok android
Only certain Samsung phones and certain galaxy buds can handle that audio quality too
Not to mention you need an audio provider that provides songs with that quality
we love when audio sounds under water
and also deafening for some people
My S8 apparently does and so do the Galaxy Buds FE
cursed combo but it seems to work well
I use the S8 as a media player anyways so its nice that it supports it
That looks awful. What’s up with everyone wanting so much damn bass. It just sounds awful… especially since it’s usually not even precise for these types of headphones
feels funny
ok but where are the oats
how do we know what kind of instrument separation and resolution this thing has
maybe it is a god in the clothing of an evil fr
Anyone else using an AV receiver with their computer for surround sound and it acts as a nonexistent monitor and there’s no way around it? 🙁
you're telling me the HDMI plug you're using acts like it's HDMI?
EDID override.
good luck lol
Yeah and I get use pass through because it doesn’t like gsync
Ooo I’ll play with this EDID stuff
good luck
I used rca input
Hey guys, does the momentum 4's eq settings save to the headphone itself? (like if i were to plug these into my computer while they're powered on would the EQ apply?) because for sony XM headphones the EQ doesnt apply for this scenario
also, i saw the " HDB 630 "
I think so
If you're looking for bass look elsewhere tbh, hdb 630 is bass shy
Even with EQ it cant handle much
I see, i just got to know of the 630's, im leaning more towards the momentum 4's
been watching reviews and reading reddit posts on it
Even watched a video comparing it to the XM6, the guy said something about the XM6's siblance and how the momentum 4's dont have that issue etc
Yea its a lot more toned down, sony has a weird artificial quality to the voices
For the price of the hdb630 Id probably recommend the maxwell, if you're not using it outside
Can be wireless with low latency, handles a ton of bass if you want
Yeah, im definitely using these wired at home
for outside, i have a set of airpods pro 2
enabling the "spatial audio (fixed)" makes the airpods pro 2 sound good to me, lots of bass
But yeah, right now im pretty much eyeing the M4's ill most likely find a audio store to try them out before making a decision, its a pretty good time to buy aswell given its sale period
Still think the maxwell is going to be closest to what you're looking for, but the momentums are pretty solid
Maxwell audeze, right
Yup
alright ill give those a listen aswell
Look for the ps4/pc version, its cheaper 🙂
I could do that but I’d have to use my motherboard for audio instead of my GPU. I don’t think it makes a difference though 🤔
SPDIF would be lower quality than HDMI, but it’s not like I listen to uncompressed stuff anyway + I wouldn’t have the issues that come with a fake monitor 🤔🤔
Can use a cheap dongle or dac amp instead from the usb port
The fake monitor thing is awful it limits your fps, at least mine does its only hdmi 2.0
Some cant do hdr passthrough
Alright y’all have convinced me. Ordering an optical cable to go from motherboard to AVR for now
Audeze Maxwell is not a good headphone
I recommened it to someone after seeing all the praise from youtube reviewers, they hated it and gave them away
then I got one myself
after a week I sold it
I like maxwell
idk if they changed the sound with a software update in the meanwhile
maxwell is ok
it’s a 2.4ghz headphone
not many headphone makers give 2.4ghz to headphones
grey the type of guy to hate on audeze Maxwell and then recommend a keychron keyboard
Ok but why?
they had a massive treble dip that EQ couldn't fix
not via their software
there are little to no headphones that follow preferred targets and are 2.4ghz, audeze maxwell is one of the better ones
I own the keyboard I sent him
I don't doubt it
thought maxwells were mint
btw ironically logitech makes fine 2.4ghz headphones
just don’t look at their build quality
the astro a50x is unironically not bad
Again, everyone just stating their own personal pref ignoring the person asking pref
Not very helpful
the Sennheiser HD620 for 250 are a good option
especially if you crank the bass via EQ
Not hard to look at the curve of the sony headphone they clearly prefer, and recommend something similar instead of telling them what you like
So you suggest they change their budget completely and buy the closed headphone with the least bass 😅
its not about how the bass shows up on the graph
but about how it hits you
Fiio FT1 bass is rediculous on the graph, but you dont feel it
The 630 hdb does not hit anyone with bass, nor is it capable of a large shelf
I said 620
Literally any sennheiser is not for bassheads
Only reason I suggested momentums because they have the most bass of any senn
Looking to buy a new mic, currently using blue snowball ice, had for a few years but noticing that even with the mic slightly to the right of me, or if Im just on the side of my desk it sounds like Im really far away. Also picks up a fair bit of background noise which is annoying.
Id like something that sounds clear, even if Im not directly infront of it, like a foot to the side or if my mic is just slightly out of the way.. And something that doesnt pick up (or as much) background noise would be huge.
Then a mic arm as well would be sweet, the one Ive got now is a bit shit and cheap . Squeeks when I move it
Budget maybe £40-£60 (GBP)
hey friends, is this a good price for the momentum 4's?
This is in singapore dollars (roughly 229 USD)
They go for 170 eur here
About 200 USD
ah, so like a $40 diff
What Firmware was on?
I have no clue
I had it in june last year
ok it was .63
the artifacts when playing/pausing music via the 2.4gHz dongle were so annoying tho
I was on the version that supposedly fixed it
Prolly best to get a mic arm first and put it in front of you, if that doesnt fix it maybe look at the yeti it's decent
I have a mic arm rn and it's infront of my all the time, just a little short though. Then if I move slightly away it just sounds like Im 20 feet away
is it for gaming? could get a lav mic
clip it on your shirt no more issues
ModMic USB 2 is the premier wired microphone that can attach to any pair of headphones to create the ultimate headset. Experience professional voice quality with background noise reduction via the cardioid pickup pattern, making it the most advanced wired ModMic we’ve ever made. The cherry on top...
is there anything i can do about the fact my subwoofer makes my house sound like its about to collapse
ive put it on some foam it helped a bit but on super low notes it really flexes the whole room
Is this a good setup
I'd take a warm audio wa47-jr with a Motu M2 over the SM7B and Cloudlifter
WA47-JR sounds a lot more natural
also that microphone arm is hella overpriced, its just an arm, you don't need to get one that costs over a 100, a 50 euros one would do
someone's starting a podcast 😆
No.
$400 on the sm7b with an extra $100 on the cloud lifter is just unnecessary
blue yeti 🥀
why is this the most recommended setup
cargo culting
because its a meme. The SM7b is "legendary" but its really just not a great mic for most people. Its super inefficient so people wind up having to get cloud lifters to bring the gain up to where a normal mic would be. and then a lot of people also wind up having to EQ it to get it to sound right because otherwise its a really dark microphone
get a Sm58 instead
or heck, if you wanna save even more money and literally all you're doing is talkign to people, get a behringer xm8500
Every podcaster uses a shure microphone so it became popular lol. If you buy an XLR mic you need an interface
Hi all. Anyone have a suggestion for a home theater upgrade for under 1k? Looking to see if there any decent last minute Black Friday deals.
You asked the exact same thing two weeks ago
Had a look around for an arm / mic. I've come across the InnoGear Mic Boom Arm (https://www.amazon.com/InnoGear-Microphone-Management-Channels-Detachable/dp/B0BJV5S52N) And MAONO PD200X (https://www.amazon.co.uk/MAONO-Microphone-Streaming-Voice-Over-Control-PD200X-Black/dp/B0BSFG4SCW)
Thoughts on these? The mic is £52 and mic arm is £28
The ultimate solution for professional-grade recording setups:
Meticulously engineered and designed to meet the demands of discerning creators, this microphone stand combines unparalleled functionality with sleek aesthetics to elevate your recording experience to new heights.
Bid farew...
a pair of kali audio lp-6 v2 (400 EUR) + a miniDSP 2x4 HD for room correction (300 EUR), together with a MiniDSP UMIK-1 mic for room calibration (110 EUR)
you can always get a subwoofer later
the miniDSP device also allows you to set a crossover
What do you plan on using the microphone for
Also I like the fifine AM8 and it comes with a good stand and fifine also sells a boom arm which should be better than the innogear one
I don’t know the us pricing though only UK
Ah nvm you want uk pricing but the first link is US
Yeah Im UK so that's fine, though I saw a video that is against the AM8 cos of buzzing..
Im just gonna be using it for day to day gaming, then if I'm collaborating on a project then stuff like that too.
Buzzing I’ve not experience
Ah yeah grabbed the arms from a yt vid, didnt realise they were us links
At least via USB
And the stand on the am8 for a microphone stand that comes with it is also usable

He likely got a defective mic
If it has any buzzing just return it it’s amazon
Wait hang on the av6 maybe better
Yeah the av6 was reviewed as well and he spoke decently of it
Honestly the am8 will do you fine, don’t over think it. Either one you go for should be fine.
Even if you go for that original maono microphone
U able to link the one that comes with the mic arm too?
I don’t got one that comes with a mic arm sorry
I’d also ask in the podcastage discord too
Ah thats my bad then, didnt understand what you mean till now lol
buying a cloudlifter for any other reason than to keep a current mixer setup is stupid
wher measurements
I had a friend who bought an SM7B and returned it upon finding out he needs a cloudlifter haha
huh?
you can test a mic on how well it performs other than video sound tests
shown on graphs
also it’s sus he turned off comments
also that reviewer has a history of recommending whatever he gets paid from affiliate links
Yeah I did think no comments was weird.. However that's why I'm not just taking 1 opinion 😄
Have no idea how tell what to buy by reading graphs though
i have no idea what to buy as of mics
my recs may be outdated such as tonor, fifine, etc…
well, atleast i wouldn’t pay more than $25 for them
probably preferably what sounds most to reality
so, usually if something follows a target curve that’s considered neutral
I currently have a 4 year old sudotack microphone from amazon and it keeps maxing out and going silent when i laugh at all for some reason, I'm looking to buy a new microphone because of it and I'm not sure what i need to look for to make sure it doesnt max out when im loud and go silent
my budget is like $50
quite a technical way to say flat
lower gain
Holy smokes! just got my sennheiser momentum 4's and i plugged them into my pc and boy they sound crazy good! (im coming from a XM3)
it has just the right bass i need and the sounds have better clarity, i dont even need to use my logitech g pro x DAC with it! it sounds better
Which now begs the question, do i use the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable or the USB-C cable for audio?
I will be using these for competitive gaming aswell, so wireless is out of the picture ;D
hey jo, my Pc is starting to die 🙁 and cause i needed one anyways, i got myself a Laptop, that i am pretty okay with. The laptop does perform way better then my pc and as stated, the pc is on the edge of existence. So i started to migrate all my fl studio files over. Well there i runned into a problem. My Serum. Did i crack it back then, mby. Was it super easy back then, could be. But nowadays its crazy to find any file. I mean i would buy it for a reasonabel prize, but i cant, they took it down and only sell there overprized serum 2. All i want is a serum 1.36b8 and i cant seem to find it. So if anyone has a working link for Serum i would be so so glad. sorry if my question is out of place, i just got the tip from a homie to ask here.
I'm leaning usbc
How come this sounds different from how the audio sounds like from my iphone on bluetooth though? 🤔
and yes, i've disabled the mic because that makes the audio choppy and all
because you are still limited by the bluetooth data bandwidth
i actually mean it sounds better on bluetooth on my phone!
I ended up fixing it, it was because i didnt use custom transparency mode/ANC mode, using it powered on without the ANC itself makes the audio a little watered down
This is awesome, thanks for everyone's help around here, especially @wispy gate
because wireless uses dsp
wired doesn't, maybe usb wired does
My guess is they all do
I doubt the audio cable is direct passthrough
You can confirm this by not powering the headphones on and trying to use them wired with a 3.5mm cable.
USB must use dsp, as it is serial..
This is why dankpod's take on the wireless cans having a cable for when they battery fails is fallacy
Most do not have true bypass.
In fact it might even sound worse using 3.5mm because it gets converted twice
then your headphone wouldn't work with 3.5 when off
these are the consequences of using serum in extended trial mode. when something breaks, you'll no longer have it
Just got it back thou
well in the future, use a freeware synth like vital and create a similar preset
fl will allow you to use existing midi in a nonworking serum instance and put it in a different instrument
you've got an opportunity here to learn how easy it would've been to lose the tools that you rely on
it's really amazing what free vst's like vital are capable of these days. you won't miss out on a lot by migrating to them
also tell your friend to stop referring people to the ltt server
that's a huge liability and he will be destroyed if ever identified here
that's what I said lol
im sleepy man
many times the manufacturers make the headphones use DSP even though it's a 3.5mm jack so you could still use ANC/transparency/whatever else they might want you have.
if you had a true bypass, nothing would work because the 3.5mm jack is bypassing any of the DSP, and thus you'd have angry consumers mad that their ANC doesn't work when using analog input.
the focal bathys are like this
are the Hifiman Ananda (Stealth) a good option when looking for some entry/mid level planar headphones?
so i need an audio interface that can run my hd600, it also needs a port for a xlr. I really want the same form factor as the scarlet 2i2 so i can keep it under the desk on the edge. SO if anyone has any suggjestions, i whould be happy
my scarlett isnt a year old and audio sometimes cuts out or become all robotic
i did a reinstall of my audio driver, if that fixes it, i dont need one. But it whould be great to have one writen down when i decide to get a new one
could something from Behringer U-Phoria line fit your needs? like Behringer U-Phoria UMC22?
could it power a sm7b and hd600 no problem?
hd600 yes sm7b no
Well i do have a cloudlifter. So i think im fine
less input ports it seems
probably worse in every way
well the price of the one you guys said is nice and all. but i do want something nice. premium feel
how about this: https://www.thomann.de/fi/esi_neva_otg.htm
hmm, white is actually perfect for my setup
take a look at the Motu m2 or the topping E2x2
the Motu has a really good input for the mic, the topping has a really good output for the headphones
what kinda ohm headphone could it handle, just for s- and giggles
well, with my scarlett 2i2 3rd gen i need alittle over half
(impedance doesnt really mean anything)
(and volume position doesnt tell you anything either)
all options should be more than enough for the hd600
well what if i get something like a Beyerdynamic T1?
well i like the look of the moto so
still plenty assuming you're not doing anything with like, 20-30 db of dynamic range with EQ on top of that
Seems like it might just be a switch. Idk if i need to make new holders
anyone got any good headphone recs? looking to get something nicer and not gaming. not like studio quality but something nice in between that's wired
Yeah this is the one I use. Its very good.
https://auribusacoustics.com/products/sierra-open-monitor
okay these are definitely "nicer" but I think they're a bit too nice for my budget 😅
Oh. what's your budget?
id probably say a 10th of that, perhaps 150 dollars max (I'm GBP)
Fiio ft1 is the standard recommendation in that region right now.
ATH R50x would be worth looking at as well.
Hey guys, my momentum 4's have a slightly better sound to me when its used in ambient or ANC mode, if i turn it off and just listen to it (while the headphone is powered on of course!) it doesnt kick as great
How do i make them sound as good like how they are in ambient/anc mode?
Happy to help 👍!
it looks pretty decent already, lots of furniture. Putting a rug on the opposite wall is probably the easiest way to fix reflections
yup, way better than sound panels
double or triple layer blackout curtains will help a lot, also it's prolly best if people can't see out your window in videos
beware, it gets super warm
if you want something a bit more aesthetic you can make sound panels out of towels
yea a rug will work, specifically behind the monitors
rug is probably better but it's hard to hang up that much weight
to the side of the setup doesn't matter so much, if you overdo the sound panels it will sound a bit dead in recordings
that's a tough one hm
check out a 'brick hanger' online
I think you just hammer it into the wall
just directly behind
place still needs to be liveable it gets really hot
thicker is better, but prolly can't hear much of a difference
could use a XL mouse pad as an alternative to a rug like so
yea prolly not enough then
for the ceiling can grab one of these wedges for each corner
Bass traps are an indispensable tool every recording studio must have. They're also something that's easy to install at home to vastly improve the acoustic response of your own room. How do Bass Traps Work? A bass trap is a type of acoustic treatment panel that helps reduce problems in the low-en...
probably overkill unless you plan to do some singing
hahaha, I think do the rest first and see how it sounds
if you're still hearing echoes then do the ceiling, it's a huge pain in the butt
can clap in the direction of your microphone and record it, if there's no echo you're good
yup any thick curtains will do, I got mine for cheap off amazon
they're really heavy so make sure the rod can handle it
np! GL
So during Thanksgiving, my cousin walked up to me and asked me for IEM/Earbud options, and since i'm the audio guy in the family, i listed off some options. But she had some interesting requirements. To my knowledge, it's EXTREMELY rare, but she has an allergy to all metals that come in contact with her skin, she also wants a stub for the cable, since without one it hits her ear, and they have to be wireless and $80 or less. I'll be honest, i'm not an IEM/earbud person, i'm headphones only. Something about the way my ears are i can't use any, so this is out of my field. What would you recommend to buy?
I dont know how they sound but most KZ products are in that price range, made of resin/plastic, and have plastic nubs. A lot of the other resin ones have metal nubs
Check out linsoul
Truthear also makes some good ones, the truthear gate matches your requirments, the red and the nova might have metal nubs I can't tell
Most iems should work if wireless. I'm pretty sure basically all are silicone + either resin or some sort of plastic
okay I digress on the Final DX 3000 CL being the new default recommended 600 euro headphone
its like a hd6xx with a 12dB bass shelf
its crazy
had some more time with it today
Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed vs Logitech G Pro X which one, is it worth to pay litte more for X 2?
throwing money at shitty audio interfaces isnt it
wait wtf is this
r50x??
since when
like early 2025
~150 usd
Its even more linear than r70x. It just requires one shelf filter to fix the treble...
Would the Sonos Ray soundbar be a suitable soundbar for my PC?
you havent provided enough information for anyone to give a decent guess
the ft1 sounds more artificial but intense. powerful bass, more sounds pop out at you. volume levels feel more glued together
r50x is more surgical and recovers a lot more details. is more spacious, less bass, doesnt block out outside noises
has more of a toolset for quite a few comp fps games, specifically ones like apex, r6s, the finals, probably warzone
different games and different kinds of music will agitate the headphones differently
so its necessary to know what you're listening to
no it isnt
and what you enjoy about said music. also stuff like price, country, if you need it to block out outside noises, if you could use free eq software on windows to tune the sound
argument is more linear than r70x
if the r70x plays as darker on my head, the r50x will have more accurate harman in-room style treble
for me
aside from some small blips, my standardization eq has this at 0
what the r50x lacks for me is some mid-midrange
a little lean sounding
I suppose I would still like a bit of kick with the bass and not have it be super artificial. like my earbuds have a lot of bass but I can tell it's not really meant to sound like that
can someone help me find a good mic?
what's your budget and how are you going to use it?
like are you going to record vocal, drums, guitar or gaming?
or all of them :p
maybe a ModMic or Shure SM57 ? 🤔
are marshal speakers worth it ?
need an hd560S alternative, was about to buy then realised they are out of stock for months :(
fiio ft3 350ohm might be cool?
they can be gotten on aliexpress for ~ $200
wher £90
amazon
steal
if its not in stock the price isn't real
itll go up on amazon when they get them again.
it is
you can order them now
they just wont arive for 3 month
that seems strange for amazon
is it a seller offer or something?
generally speaking I buy nothing from Amazon if it isn't fulfilled by amazon here in the USA, because 90% of the time if it's a third party seller I never saw it lol
maybe like he400se? they go for even cheaper, like $60
but yeah i like them less than hd560s personally
my budget is below 300. i need a mic that can pick up my voice clearly and also focus. i have a pc with some loud fans and i hate it when my mic picks up the noise. my voice is relatively deep for a woman but i can scream really high. id like a xlr that i can adjust to my voice. ill use it alot. i will not be recording any music only my vice for gaming/ streaming
ive been thinking about the shure mv7+
the shp9500 is kinda similar
why are they hated on so much btw?
like compared to actual junk
they don’t seem terrible at all
maybe a counterculture reaction to a hyped product
or they dont like the treble fr or something
but overall I thought it was comparable in presentation to a 560s
obviously cheaper and weirder frayed sounding treble
but
I spent SO much time getting this working. Basically I followed this thread and had to do sketchy things to my Realtek audio driver https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/unlocked-realtek-hd-audio-drivers-for-windows-11-dolby-digital-live-dts-interactive.291458/
I'm not a huge expert on mics but the Shure MV7+ looks like a good pick
guys im loking for some nice afortable amps and came across smsl pa200 or fosi v3, i want them run as mono blocks but what once are beter
it is junk that was overhyped by dankpods
and the hype died off
Im 1 day into using my momentum 4's
I use them wired via USB-C on the PC
best part of this for some reason when i use it with USB-C, i can still fiddle with the settings on the sound control app on my phone since it still is connected to bluetooth
when i use its 2.5mm to 3.5mm, it doesnt sound as good and turns off bluetooth haha
Anyways, coming from a sony XM3, (and having tried the XM4 and XM6 which i've hated) this headphone sounds like everything i'd want in a headphone, makes me wonder how most everyone outside is roaming around with XM4/5/6 and i rarely see momentum headphones in my country (singapore)
I read posts like how sony's ANC is better etc, but for me the momentum 4's ANC is "the perfect amount", i cant really explain this in detail cuz im not really an audio geek but if i were to describe it the "pressuring" feeling isnt really there and i dont get migraines from it
so cool
Mainstream versus more "in the hobby"
Sony is well known among almost everyone
Senny is not
Should it be a dynamic mic or condenser?
Condenser are either really shit or really good, dynamics are good or really good
Because (I have an unconventional setup because videography) I use the Senheiser MKE 600 as my mic, because it needed to be a shotgun microphone to fit on a camera rig, and it comes with the bonus of being able to be further away and thus I didn’t need a mic arm and cable management is way easier
It’s probably not gonna be as good as a comparably priced condenser, but if u get the shure mv7 (iirc 260) you’ll still need an interface and a good one will run like 90 euro, so if u get a good mic you’d need a good interface.
Long story short, get a mic for like 240 euro and spent like 90 on the interface, as Black Friday deals are still on it should be in budget
My setup is:
senheiser MKE 600 + Focusrite solo 3rd gen
whichever one is best for my requirements
What are they?
i posted them before
my budget is below 300. i need a mic that can pick up my voice clearly and also focus. i have a pc with some loud fans and i hate it when my mic picks up the noise. my voice is relatively deep for a woman but i can scream really high. id like a xlr that i can adjust to my voice. ill use it alot. i will not be recording any music only my vice for gaming/ streaming
ive been thinking about the shure mv7+
Yeah I saw ty, for that I’d say dynamic then, and the mv7 good only heard good things about it, make sure you get the only xlr one then cus it’s cheaper and if u use it with xlr and then an interface you wont be able to use the on mic controls.
For a bit cheaper the rode PodMic is great aswell
Just make sure to pair them with good interfaces
Eric interface would be good?? is ledger a white one if possible
anyone have recs for a clear mid, tight bass bluetooth speaker under 150 usd? i just snagged this onyx 8 and it’s not impressive
i don’t care about crazy extension or bass boost
I would say that focusrite Solo 3rd generation, it’s great for me, only comes in red though
This one seems to be good as well @celest vessel
Just being white makes peripherals more expensive
fair but im going for a white setup
That’s fair
im looking for a audio interface NOT for music but id like some features such as a quick mute
a wya to adjust my gain yk
maybe something similar to a streamdeck maybe?
anything that can remove alot of background noise
🙏
There is the Elgato wave XLr would fit with the stream deck
i have to go back to work sorry!
Nws I have to go to bed anyway 😭 lmao
OK, rapid fire time as a first time message here.
-
Opinion: Voicemeeter is a must to fix Beyerdynamics' tinny audio.
-
Opinion: After using their products for years, I cannot use other headphones. The tight clamp is comfy. Every other manufacturer feels like they're falling off my head.
-
Opinion: Most people are spending way too much on condensers when their situation, both financial and audio, would fit with a cheaper dynamic mic instead
-
Confession: I only found out about the "orange" Air mode on Focusrite 2i2 today. I got it at launch
-
Issue: One of my Behringer Truth B2031A's crackles occasionally. Maybe 2-6 times over the course of 24h. Damaged XLR?
Rapid fire over
ughh id rather something a bit more premium…
i think maybe i will get the hd550, it’s double the price but i dont see any alternative
Bose Soundlink Flex 2 with built in EQ (bass down) or if you want more bass light/midrange focus, soundcore x600
Didn't like the onyx either, it's overrated
The TOPPING E2X2 is a high-performance USB audio interface featuring ultra-linear mic preamps, 48V phantom power, and low-noise LNRD circuitry for pristine sound. With real-time zero-latency monitoring, dual headphone outputs powered by NFCA-LE, and advanced mixing functions, it supports Windows,...
does it have a quickmute?
its got a knob that you can quickly turn all the way down to mute the mic
Honestly, assuming you haven't bought the mic yet, you might want an elgato mic
skipping the interface
Like for your requirements, all you need is a compressor and a noise gate.
both of which elgato software has
and the push to mute as well.
anything a little bigger? how’s the soundcore x600
yea onyx is not good. so bloated and the mids are absent
Yamaha MG10XU, for voice gating just use software
ill look into it
I think the soundcore is pretty decent, there's a heavy focus on soundstage and more balanced sound. Not nearly as loud as the bose soundlink flex 2 though because it fires upwards. The Bose gets super loud, it's enough to fill 600 sq foot room with 8ft ceiling. If you need something bigger I'd honestly get 2. The soundlink Max is the bigger version but it sounds bad unless you EQ the bass down, overpriced vs 2 soundlink flex speakers paired
The best of the best for unlimited budget for larger rooms would be the JBL Authentics 300 IMO, excellent vocals/guitar/piano. But I think the price is way too high, never goes on sale
Look into a compressor and noise gate.
The compressor will make it so that you're always at a consistent volume even if you're close, far, loud, or quiet.
the noise gate will mute the mic whenever theres nothing above a certain loudness, so mouse clicks, computer fan, and other background stuff will have a harder time coming through
i heard the shore has one build in that adjusts acclrding to which volume i speak at no?
besides i like the way the shure mv7+ sounds
ofcourse ill buy a shure mv7b popfilter since i heard the popfilter of the mv7+ is ass
from what I can gather, there's nothing that the shure does that's special.
looking through the product page, they're taking very basic features and glazing them
the automatic gain control is something that's built into discord
denoiser is another thing that they're glazing. discord has one. and basically they get rid of the noise, but make your voice sound like ass in the process
the only good denoiser is the nvidia broadcast one
i used to enjoy the fifine am8
but for some reason it clashes with discords noise supression
like i have to put it on studio if i dont and put it on noise supression instead i cut out HHORRIBLY
i used voicemeter for a while to fix it but recently voice meter has been acting up too causing me to cut out alot
it couldnt be any damage since the mic is safely on a boomarm not dropped once but maybe time for a new one again </3
but discord studio mode causes others to hear my fans wich i dislike </3
yeah that doesnt work for some reason
nvidia broadcast works really well but the resources it takes are ridiculous
slows down games immensely
i dont have that many
my pc is running on life support
im saving up to upgrade it but 2026 seems to be a shitty year to be upgrading
😭
aw man, yea ram is insane rn
might have some luck on facebook marketplace but I bet the scalpers are going crazy rn
ill just save up
maybe roughyl till 3000 instead of my original 2500 budget
and pray that in 2027 ill hhave better lucj
i just PRAY that my pc can hold on untill 2027....
or untill prices stabilize because its on crutches
untill then ill just graduallly upgrade my setup slowly
which now its the mics turn and my generall audio
it’s just for my hotel room. something that will fill the room, has tight bass (nothing bass boosted/muddy or over extended) and warm mids. nothing tinny
i like how the soundcore has a 9 band eq
pray that at the very least the ram is salvagable 💀
@wispy gate how’s the charge 6
my whole pc needs a change
genuinely
All the lower end JBL stuff is really V-Shaped, the mids are bad
I suggest going to best buy and listening to a few to get a good sense of each brands sound
wasn't too impressed with the xboom tbh
yea it honestly sounds like a speaker 4x the size
only a 3 band eq tho right
yea, you can also use wavlet for free if you want more bands
here's a video just to show the volume from 6ft away, 50% volume
is that on the app store
Yup!
ah i think i had some drm restrictions
i couldn’t alter the eq
pretty loud
is it a warm sound
thing is, soundcore, albeit probably slightly worse out of the box, does have a 9 band eq
i can snag the x600 for 70 bucks
Woahh thats really cheap
Id buy it and return if later if it sucks
so actually 60
i need it before january so it’s cutting it close
but the onyx 8 is not good
too heavy
and the bass is way too bloated
feels like every bass note is at a constant 50hz +10db
something about the bose and soundcore x600 as well is they're totally water resistant
not too interested in that
just keeping it in my hotel
but you say it’s upfiring?
ah ok, it's kind of nice for the shower that's what I use it for lol
it has 2 modes: upfiring for soundstage, or front for normal
sounds way better in upfiring mode
oh wait this is so misleading
it said 59 dollars in the hyperlink, but it’s only 70 off 199
do you think it’s too big to fit in my luggage?
ah, soundlink is better for 114 imo. Yea the soundcore has a handle that can't be folded, it's large for luggage
Shop Bose SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Waterproof/Dustproof Design Black products at Best Buy. Find low everyday prices and buy online for delivery or in-store pick-up. Price Match Guarantee.
is the x500 decent? it’s 60 usd
never tried the x500 =/
on amazon, the soundcores say “frequently retuned item”
that’s weird because it has good reviews
should i snag two x500s and go stereo
you're gonna have a really hard time fitting those in luggage xD
at least on the canadian website I see a lot of return complaints that the item was scratched or refurbished
easier time than the onyx 8
it’s half the weight
and i’m bringing 2 luggages
i’m gonna see if i can hear the soundlink tomorrow
if i like it, ill just buy it
think that's for the best yea, you could even call best buy and reserve it, maybe they'll lock in the sale price
ah ok, easy return
how’s the klipsch nashville?
best for rock music, bit overpriced, doesn't sound as refined/smooth as the bose. It's less full sounding and not nearly as loud
if you like female vocals a lot I'd go nashville
hd 505 worth it for £180?
the £90 hd 560s isnt shipping for a few months, and 550 is £250
560s is an exceptional headphone for the price
yes but it is not shipping for 3 months
and so i’m looking for an alternative
I could sport a 3rd gen at that price
but not when the mc450 is 20 pounds more
i need a headphones and my budget is 50-70$ (uae amazon)
Hey does anybody here use the hd560s? And how much sound do they leak at 50% volume?
does anyone have experience with the Beyerdynamics, DT 990 pro? If so are they as good as people say and would you recommend them?
Who is saying they are good? 💀

they’re only probably good if you believe you hear certain high frequencies below average
Guys i want to buy a new headset bc my current ones are worn down. to further get to my question. i wanna get a dt990pro 250ohm. what do i need to run it, since i heard that it needs smth bc it wouldnt get enough power or smth. (pls @ me otherwise i dont think i will see it) (other suggestions are welcome as well)
Just plug them into your PC you should be fine
are u sure bc i heard that i need more power bc they need more (250ohm version)
I'm like 80% sure, yeah. Worst case scenario they're not as loud as you want. And then you just have to buy an amp for like $20-$120.
Alternatively you could get something like the fiio ft1 and that goes up to 98% sure.
Thankssss
finally a 4.4mm and a usb-c cable for both charging and power transfer in one
Discord peeps I need help, so my gaming setup is in my room and like most people I can get a little loud while playing and my parents rooms is right down the hallway from me. Is there anything I can do to sound proof my room?
I'd also like to know abt that 🔝
it's really hard to keep sound in, the best thing I can suggest is to take adhesive rubber strips and cover the bottom/sides of the door
hold on ill get a picture
Would a thicker door work too?
did you consider hd560s?
Mine are thick bricks
I just bought the audio technica ATH-m50x, and i love the sound quality and profile, but tragically the cups are too small for my ears, and its kinda pressing on my skull too much, are there any similar with like bigger ear cups?
or like less pressure on the ears
Are they better?
on average people prefer them more
what is the difference between open back and cloosed back?
im looking at the HD 560 S myself and it looks like theyre quite good, plus theyre like 50% off rn
They are both 140-150 at my place
Could try a 'door quilt'
Its like a blanket for your door, attaches with hooks
Ok thanks I’ll try it
@wispy gate have you heard the tribit stormbox lava
where 50% off
on amazon in uk
the headphones don’t create a chamber
are they worth a buy? do they sound similar to the m50x?
they are worth it yes, they do not sound similar to m50x imo
do you already have m50x?
they just arrived today, but theyre really uncomfortable
which is a shame cus i love the sound
hd560s are roughly less bassy
Learn to act like a decent person and don't make noise?
but a bit more accurate with most targets
link
eh i'd like the bass of them50x
The reviews are pretty good, haven't tried it myself
i like the driver set up on the x600
i think i’ll just snag that
and compare with the soundlink flex 2
dope, lmk what you decide! I'm curious
yep. also, is there a reason i can’t find the soundcore motion +?
Go to a hardware store and pick up some weather tripping. Put those around the edges of your door frame so they contact the door when you close it.
Also get a door sweep.
If air can get through the door, sound can get through the door
Does anyone have any alternatives to the m50x? they sound great but are super uncomfortable to wear
the ear cups are too small and the pressure on my haed is really tighht
if you want the polar oposite of those complaints, Hifiman Edition XS
should be available around 220 eur
I bought them when they were 550 eur, and it was worth every cent back then
dam those are some big ear cups 😅 is the bass good? I want some bass but like not too much if that makes sense, the important thing is the clear sound space which the m50x had. I've also saved these cus they look good, do you know anything about these?
The bass on them is good
Its not boosted but it goes down deep.
Very clarity focused sound
Its better than those. Significantly so.
I can wear them for hours. The pads dont even touch my ears. Its the most comfortable experience for me personally. It works well on my wider head
I see, I'll have to gauge my options then. Im returning the m50x tomorrow and using that money to buy either of these two
cus the hifimans are a bit steep for me
Its 20 euros more than the dt700 pro x
Wait that is in pounds??
193 GBP = 230 EUR
maybe I just wait until my paycheck on friday
is the bass good on the hifimans?
I forgot if I asked lol
I see, you're getting me excited now
Way higher quality bass than the beyers
I can only buy them on Amazon because I refunded to my Amazon wallet
Why is it so expensive tho
I couldn't tell you 😅
every other vendor is AliExpress lol
idm paying the extra if what you're saying is true though
Oh this is bundled with the travel case?
Maybe that's why its more expensive
is that not standard?
I don't really plan to travel with them
What are you plugging them in to
my pc
Does your pc have like a good headphone jack?
should do?
Usually they are pretty bad
Uh wouldnt recommend with these headphones. Laptop maybe. But not pc.
why laptop but not pc tho?
Laptops have better headphone jacks
I'd recommend something that doesn't care what its plugged in to instead then
The hifiman will let you know how bad it is
damn I didn't think it would be so important 😅
does it start shouting at you
"how dare you plug me into this filth"
https://amzn.eu/d/i2VijYK
for what it's worth this is my motherboard

but I'm open to other recs
Hmm might be fine with this one. Do you have a long enough cable that terminates into dual 3.5mm
Or maybe just a 3.5mm extension cable
I do not, but could get one. why?
The front is really bad
Its pretty much always just whatever was the cheapest that the pc case manufacturer could find
I see
Its not the same audio as on your motherboard
Plugging into the back would be better, yes
so you'd still recommend the hifimans? what would you recommend for low quality jack's?
Sennheiser HD560s
Do you have budget for a cheap usb-c to 3.5mm jack?
I was looking at these. I could probably get a jack yes
Fiio KA11 is the cheapest way to get a better jack
Without going for a full blown dac/amp
would I need these for the hifimans?
I might just go with them honestly
Yes
oh are the hifimans not 3.5mm?
They are
Wait actually JCally JM20 Max is a better bet
Seems more durable in terms of design.
Dont pay over £23 for it
i'll buy it from the website
Yes, with the dongle
okay i'll buy that now then, just an extra 60
HD560s dont care what you plug them in to, but they are not really good at anything besides not sounding bsd
oh forgot amazon lists in stock and price based on location mb
It should not be 60
What the heck
Ah I see
so its an extra 60
Its 100% worth it
It'll probably blow your mind how many new things you hear in your music
its like mcdonalds
theyre really good at not being shit
but not much else?
Yeah...
tried edition xs and xv they both were decent, not mindblowing tho just like the hd560s
but that’s maine taste everyone has different
as someone who's been using gaming headphones all my life im sure i'll be blown away
Yeah that
i just want something that can accomodate my ears 😭 looks like the hifimans will be able to deliver on that
100%
hifiman has very comfy pads
They even fit some of the larger ears of my coworkers, they were pleasantly surprised.
Yeah the part that touches your head is a nylon fabric. It doesnt get hot
Im a hifiman enjoyer myself
though the bq could see an improvement overall, their construction pops a bit which can be slightly distracting… but that’s common for headphones
my he400se had that and edition i can’t remember either xv or xs as well
Pops? Like when u create a vacuum with the earpads and hear the driver wrinkle.
also some of their headphones can have strange treble
XS didnt have that for me
i’m not sure, it tends to happen when i don’t move my head for a long time and then i like move my face a bit
Is it like the sound of foil being torn
Or rather removing a plastic peel
no, it sounds like a knock or something slipping out out of place or both
Hmm weird
when i was putting the headband mechanism at strange angles it made that sound as well on the he400se
as for the xv and xs i didn’t have time for that
i tried them at some tech house
they did make a sound when i was putting them on tho
idk it’s very nit picking but i’ll point it out
if i was to take a 9/10 score out of the headphones then that would make it like -0.05 points
anyways when you have some cheap $1 chinese headphone it pops like that but only occasionally and it’s… not as bad
i assume it’s only on a single place on both sides
just bought 😊

not sure what this means. does the XS perform well here?
it's like a graph of frequencies right?
oops forgot to include a target, aslong it’s 3-6+- db within most targets it should be a good headphones in terms of frequency response, it still can have distortion and such… sounds that persists few ms after
interesting. well we'll see what happens when I receive it
haven't tried open ear headphones before, shouldn't be too bad if I'm using an external mic right?
for like accidental audio pickup
i’ll tell you outright they sound boring
because they be neutral
I see 😅 wish I'd heard this before I bought it
boring ≠ bad *good
sounds accurate, perhaps?
you want to probably hear music as the producer intended it to sound
but yeah… everyone has different ears, not just pinna but your brain also processes sound
I see
you might want like more of 7khz but less of 11khz and your ears might die from lil more 14khz
well we'll see what happens when i get it. looking forward to it
haven't really splurged that much on new headphones before lol
I would recommend listening to more exciting music
boring = neutral
Even if that were true, Edition XS is not neutral...
if neutral is boring i second Nils and you should listen to more exciting music
aren’t they very close to that? for most people
the xv wasn’t enhanced to me sounded idk… about right? can’t point out faults
the scoop is also , yeah it is there but it depends on what you listen to
maybe i’m 8khz deaf idk
Could just be lucky ears
oh, nope my ears scream when someone uses worn brakes in a car
like actually it hurts
others don’t hear it that much or at all
actually curious now which frequency it is
listen to more exciting music
I aint telling you that i listen to ncs and angry birds epic sound tracks
100% not true

Hey guys, ive been using a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 4’s for like 3 days now, i use it wired via USB C to my computer as wireless isnt the best when I’m playing competitive shooters. I was just wondering if i should be enabling this setting or no? I currently dont use sound personalisation and have the EQ on its default setting as i like the sound out of the box
I would guess no, anything above 48 khz is snake oil
Ahh i see, i did self research and it seems even if i were to enable this setting, the USB-C audio is still input to 2 channel 16bit / 48khz when connected to PC
interesting
Eh I would not say it's snake oil. Really tho on windows 48k is kinda where the os is made for. It does help with music recording and digital mixing desks tho it's not needed for a good consumption
no
well, for basic playback yes
but that extra leeway you get at above 48khz for sound production is so important
it's not snake oil at all.
technically the difference between 16 and 24bit is still within the threshold of hearing
beyond 24 bit is true snake oil for playback
but 16 to 24 is kinda like bit-perfect playback vs non-bit-perfect playback
and what is happening in this situation
this a setting on headphones not a DAW
I didn't want to confuse or overload with information so I only give the information relevant
I should have been more specific
For just listening/playback, unless you have incredible one-of-a-kind hearing above like 20 kHz and can hear the attenuation, 16 bit 48 kHz is far more than needed to be lossless
I don't believe there can be such a thing as "what the os is made for", you can use higher frequencies on windows if the DAC supports it
--
difference between 16 and 24 bit is so absurdly outside of the range of possible hearing its not even funny; probably look at this section for comparisons: https://people.xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/neil-young.html#toc_1bv2b
- I should specify, range of human hearing without causing hearing loss, I think that's a fair limit to place
You have the EQ on default or Off?
As stated, i have the EQ on its default setting named "neutral"
Also another question for you folks, have u guys heard of the MoonDrop KATO IEMs? how different are they from headphones like the momentum 4 in terms of sound?
Oh. My bad, I thought you were having issues with quality. If you don't care about quality, you can just leave that setting off.
Alright, thank you friend
Honestly, unless your computer is 20 years old, just turn it on. Might as well get what you paid for
@wispy gate i had to snag the earfun uboom x lol. the sale ran out too soon and i didn’t notice, so all soundcore products were full price
it’s heavy so idk how ideal it’ll be for traveling, but i also have the soundlink flex to compare it to
nice! I've heard the earfun is a really good deal in general
Right. But Snake oil is not the correct term here since there is a tangible benefit. Snake oil refers to things that are completely useless or straight up scams.
Motion 300/600/Boom 2 was OOS/full price?
yea it was supposed to extend till 3 am est, but it came back to full price before then
also, as far as bt speakers go honestly anything will do so long as it sounds good enough for you and enoguh battery lol
drivers are usually vv small for the sound people demand out of them
so just enjoy what you have now 😄
i have a semi audiophile system at home, so nothing will sound good in comparison
High sample rates for listening is snake oil
That is what I am saying
it's unneccesary, but not snake oil
I suppose we have different definitions for snake oil
yes, I have the correct definition
lol
Snake oil by definition:
Sounds a lot to me like it would have no "medicinal" value to reproduce sounds that you can't physically perceive
24bit 96khz is exactly what is described. It's not a marketing thing, it's literally just an objective descriptor of data. By extension, 24bit and 96khz does offer higher dynamic range and more room for sound processing.
and in sound production scenarios, it absolutely makes a difference.
but let me finish before you respond
IF they market this as "Senn Super HQ Audio" or something and CLAIM that "This makes your audio much clearer and will resolve all your issues with detail with this headphone," then "Senn Super HQ Audio" would be snake oil, but the tech behind it is not.
but in this case they just say "High resolution audio" which 24bits by definition does provide, objectively.
ie. What it does, not what you will perceive.
An example of snake oil for example would be thousand dollar cables which oftentimes have the exact same cable resistance, capacitance, and maybe even Inductance even though they claim to have superior sound quality. Objectivity is the counter to snake-oil claims.
BUT, if a thousand dollar cable claims that it's the most durable cable and they reinforce it with a metal jacket and super durable plugs and whatnot. Even if it sounds the same, it's no longer snake oil because it does what it claims.
I kinda did no research on this, I just ordered an AT2040, was looking at AT2020s and saw the 2040 for cheaper and thought "hey bigger number"
The at2040 is better tho I hope you got a interface for it
@crude axle did your Edition XS arrive yet?
nope, it's been dispatched but not out for delivery yet. why?
just interested to hear your thoughts on it
I'm getting a 2i2 for it, I have a roland drumset in my room that i'd like to connect up
Actually probably the 1i1, I don't need the 2nd XLR port
I guess you mean the solo? The focusright interfaces are okay yeah. just some are a overpriced
Yeah the solo, whatever it’s called I apologise LOL
just got an update, should be here by Friday
I’m not entirely sold on the solo, would you have any cheaper alternatives? 4th gen runs about $140 USD here
Whats a good headset and microphone for around 100-150 total for both? Lost all my stuff in a house fire a couple months ago and just now getting back into it, mainly for discord/gaming. i have a DAC
my previous setup was a Blue yeti + DT770s
Nevermind i’m sold 🤣
@wispy gate soundlink flex sounds good for its size. very balanced. i’m shocked it sounds better than the onyx 8
pc38 has a headset mic
can u find a refurb 560s for 100 bucks and samson q2u for 50?
don't get a refurb 560s
that's gambling. there are 3 different headphones you could recieve
and they have different strengths and weaknesses
They've arrived! They are definitely a lot more comfortable than the AT ones, and they sound really nice too
I can hear a lot of details
I thought i got scammed cus I looked inside the cuips and i couldnt see any speakers lmao
and when I plugged them into the front they just didnt work lol
is there a way i can give them more bass?
via like equalizer or something
Are you using a dongle?
no for now im just using the wire they gave me and plugged it into the back
Ah, the back of your pc doesn't have enough power to give them enough bass
With a dongle
do u have any recs?
This one
You'll have more power headroom to add more bass via EQ if you still find it lacking after using the dongle.
@crude axle
stuff like these?
Try to find the exact model
do the other ones not provide enough power?
can't seem to find it on Amazon, only AliExpress.
I carry this one wherever I go
so what do these actually do? sorry am a bit new to audio tech. I assume it just allows the headphones to be supplied with more power?
@steel escarp what would you say about these? idm paying a bit extra cus I get paid tomorrow
Lemme see
it would be more powerful, but just a tiny bit
and twice the cost
this should do
that's fine, cus this one gives me the option to use my own longer usb C cable. outside of the price, would you say it's a good choice?
I'd just get a usb-c extension cord for it
I see what you mean, but the other one I can get tomorrow. do I sacrifice any quality by buying the other one?
plus I wanna use the chunky jack
which I don't think yours supports
4.4mm?
ya
I think you got confused
Edition XS comes with a 3.5mm cable with a 6.35mm adapter
not 4.4mm cable
there is not really any reason to use the 6.35 one over 3.5mm
https://www.amazon.com/MOONDROP-Dawn-PRO-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B0FNQQGX28 @crude axle how much is this one
where you're at
it's 60 quid, not looking to spend that much. why not just buy the FiiO snowsky melody?
it has half the power
of the cheaper dongle
I thought you said it had a bit more power?
oh right, I could get an adapter tho surely?
you'd need a whole new cable
you cant adapt 4.4mm to 3.5mm or 6.35mm unfortunately
only the other way around
alright screw it I'll buy the 60 one then lmao
xD
@crude axle wait
it also has a 4.4mm output
so probably same story, let me double check
ah ffs same story
your motherboard has around 30 mW of power
you need 63mW minimum
@crude axle do you happen to like have a usb-c to 3.5mm dongle that you got with a phone
or something
.u cannot even tell what firmware it was
