they just don't create any sound above 15kHz
lol
if you can hunt down anything with the brand iloud on it second hand
then you got yourself something really nice for cheap
Sorry im asking alot i only really know headphones with audio and even then its just who has a good rep and who doesn't because after shopping around a bit for like 4ish I just went back to Skullcandy because I grew up with them and I've always liked them and sure enough they were just as good as I remembered
Whats that number for again i cant remember
a frequency
its a pretty high frequency
15000 Hz sine tone to test your speakers or headphones.
Humans can detect sounds in a frequency range from about 18 Hz to 20 kHz. (Human infants can actually hear frequencies slightly higher than 20 kHz, but lose some high-frequency sensitivity as they mature); the upper limit in average adults is often closer to 15–17 kHz. If you “hear” ...
do not listen too loud or long to this
Also im paying rent out of my grandparents basement so even if i wanted to i cant buy anything good because i wont be able to activate use a quarter of what it can do
are you gonna use it for gaming?
Needed a replacement FiiO myself
Mainly gaming but if I listen to music on my computer I want it to have bass that atleast kicks
Again i use Skullcandy crushers i like to feel the bass, but im not living in my owm place so i can't go crazy
because if not, something like a JBL Go 4 which is a single bluetooth speaker probably is gonna sound better than any other desktop speaker you can get. but you cannot hear direction from it since its just one speaker
It has to stay light
Issues with onboard mb audeo+front panel audio and the FiiO gives me a wider soundstage and uncompressed the audio so it sounds more full
Yeah I was thinking of just buying something blue tooth from Skullcandy but I don't want to have to charge my speakers for my PC it's the same reason I refuse to buy wireless headphones
At least with my audio technica ath-m50x they do
I was looking at these for a bit but they seem like again nonames https://a.co/d/bzbITtQ
Us
Go for the edifiers in your price range it sounds like
edifier mr4
lmao dont get skullcandies
Sorry but no, i like them and thats all i care about with dailys. I know they arnt the best but idc
Its the 1 brand in audio that i have consistently felt like I got what I paid for that worked and didn't feel like shit, and i like how they sound
When thats changes i will look elsewhere
if you know better than others dont seek advice here
.... Okay so admitting there are better headphones than what i get is saying I know better than everyone here? Wtf
you are right its even more odd in your case
you acknowledge there is better but choose to buy worse
if worse is what you prefer, we can't quite help you out
to rephrase, we can recommend you good but if good isn't what you want then we can't recommend you much
Okay soooo just dont ask for help, good advice mate. Also i asked for speaker help not headphones help i wouldn't be here if i needed headphones because i already would have a answer, but next time i want a bike and only have knowledge for engines and shit for cars i just wont ask someone who knows about both for help with the 1.
well if you need help not to find the best item for your budget but instead to narrow down a list with qualifiers in your head that we don't know
we cannot help you
I asked for recommendations to look into what i want but can't have recommendations if u dont buy want you want me to
Lol i said my list, you didnt read anything you just jumped in mid conservative
you're meaning of recommendations for looking into stuff to buy is the same as someone asking you to tell them what to buy. I literally found a pair of speakers based off your recommendation of edifier mr4, they arnt mr4 but they are edifier, but since im not buying what you said im not taking recommendations.... I didn't ask what i should buy i asked for brands to look into what to buy you didnt read. Also i gave a literal list there is no metaphor here whatever fuck off you're a prick
lmao
its pretty good
it seems you can turn the treble down too
not many bookshelves you can buy for 150 with falloff at 70hz
yeah exactly
you can buy them in eu for €90 incl. taxes
wtf where from
I can find them for 95 EUR here locally
Whats the qr30s like
many retails from czech, slovakia and germany
this one is way better
Damm
@warm scarab go for as low as €80
mass production ftw
i love child labor
its just that the chassis has a resonance around 600Hz
can be fixed with EQ, but I dont think the guy is going to do that
What is this website
Just point it away from you
lowest price in histoy has been €75 🤣
Nah fuck your link. I don't think the guy is going to do that, im sorry I'm simple and easy to please maybe you lot should get off your damn high horse, you cant help someone without sticking your nose up at them.
lmao what
what
actually hilarious
you are a fool grey
you shouldn't have provided the website when asked for the website
did I miss something?
oldest trick in the book
Im mad because of this, you people are legit incapable of offering advice and help without acting all high and mighty and superior
these cost morr and r less available :c
what is actually going on lmfao
which part exactly made you think we were patronizing you
beyerdeafener
this is the best crashout ive seen
grey didn't even do anything that wasn't asked of him lmao
acting like you know me and what im gonna do
huh????
🤣

should I like ping a mod or something? this guy is crashing out under 0 pressure.
klaus cannot be wrong that’s a rule
he’s jokin
i will have meltdown from laughter this is hilarous
he did block me like 10 minutes ago
ah I just saw this message, I was too busy trying to find something good to recommend
hadn't looked in here for a few minutes
fr fr
was talking to me not you lol
@strange walrus hey man, reading back chat, you seem to have gotten into a discussion with klaus about him criticising your headphones. I had nothing to do with that. I just genuenly wanted to recommend some good speakers to you.
not to be the "erm acktually" guy but in this case the ohms is talking about the impedance, not resistance, so that might change things a bit if youre trying to research further
i don now what is going on is this not all you guys messing around?
five question marks ?????
And it's only given at a specific frequency usually 1k. AFAIK impedance is neither constant nor linear for headphones
no we arent messing around
I think there's graphs online and you can calculate the output volume from sensitivity and impedance curve if you know enough electrical
0% joke right
klaus my brain is getting rotted from whatever i’m reading here
whar did grey do wong
i’m missing da point too
the source? cherrypicking? idk
nothing that is why we are making fun of the situation
grrrrr ragebaiter
i definitely mean this seriously -100% for sure
My new vacuum tubes are arriving tomorrow
got some gold plated Siemens E88CC from the 70s
I only paid 130 for them 😭
no like, grey precisely did nothing and was responded with a crashout, that is why we are making fun of the situation
it was just really absurd
yeah, just making sure
you gave me a blood pressure increase when you said “we arent messing around”
made me thimk i misjudged the situation
explode for lying to me klaus
holy shit I found more tubes nearby
some Telefunken
already got Mullards coming my way
i dont understand the misunderstanding
grey helps some dude
dude has random crashout
and we make fun of it
😭
Idk. Grey suggested that someone might not be willing EQ which is going too far, even by my standards.
That's a heavy accusation.
Bump
Someone suggested letshuoer S12s a while back, they're on sale rn(149usd 99usd) but still smth i can't afford :/
@humble willow take a look at the moondrop space travel 2's
Oh wait I misread
You said wired
And yeah there's tons of decent wired iems for less than 100 euros
Take a look at the truth ear gate
How are they only 25 usd?
Ik its not what i asked but they seem high quality
Because iems are cheap to manufacture
And cheaper to engineer
I got a passive monitor controller for my desk
Are there like big downsides to wireless iems compared to earbuds?
Besides no bass from what i understand but i care less and less about that now
Biggest one would be latency. So unless youre using aptxLL or aptx adaptive it's gonna be horrible to game with.
And idk where you heard that because there are plenty of wireless iems with tons of bass
See: raycons
I mean all i use them for rn is lisening to music so i doubt it'll be a big issue
Yeah that's a non-issue then.
From a friend who knows about as much as i do :P
They exist and thats about it
Maybe they confused iems with smth else but idk
Anyway, tysm
Actually one more thing
What makes the expensive iems expensive?
Good question. Not sure. Generally they're more complex or made by smaller boutique manufacturers.
One of the most expensive iems has like a ton of exotic drivers in them.
ah, thanks
I'm not a huge fan of iems, so that question is better answered by a different person. Maybe check out the crinacle or headphones.com discord server
Oh, i thought maybe theres a difference in audio quality or smth like that
Can't hurt, tysm
Depends who you ask. I don't see much value in spending more than $200 for them
I got the answer "they sound different" idk what i expected but it wasn't less
But yeah, ig
Im not big on audio so i don't see a point in spending more than 100€ but to each their own
grumbles I may just bite the bullet on these https://www.amazon.com/ADAM-Audio-Desktop-Monitoring-Connection/dp/B0DG9Z58CV
The D3V is a fully active desktop monitoring system designed for songwriters, producers, and music lovers who want to enjoy ADAM Audio sound quality as conveniently as possible. Available in white or black editions, the active monitors feature the iconic golden ribbon tweeter and stay true to ADA...
and I will have new speakers on Saturday
Let us know how they sound
why would you bite a bullet dude wtf go see a dentist
facepalms Its an expression
express to the dentist you arent ok
like with headphones, there's diminishing returns
lots of the time the really expensive ones are almost jewelry
other times they have fancy drivers or exotic materials
I will say, you don't need to buy those. I bought the Meze Advar because I think they're gorgeous, but there's IEM's that sound just as (if not better,) for like, 1/10th the price those were.
no regerts because I like them tho
my iem pick is currently the truthear zero red. Never tried the gate but I might consider it with the price
if it's at least as good as the 7hz zero:2 then I should be pretty happy
the ones I love the most are probably my SeeAudio Yume
I need to inherit a large audio hardware collection
I will say that mangird tea pro are magical tho
Old but still kicking. God bless Boston
damn i was expecting to hear "More than a feeling"...
Are those the speakers that can hear your phone calls before they come in
It sounds alot better in person. My phone mic don't do it justice... and I picked a bass boosted song 😭
lol fair
I gotchu bro
Sony’s intelligent industry-leading noise canceling headphones with premium sound elevate your listening experience with the ability to personalize and control everything you hear. Get up to 30 hours of battery life with quick charging capabilities, enjoy an enhanced Smart Listening feature set, ...
Actually a really good price rn
It's pretty bassy. Especially for it being around 10-20+ years old
aren't that midfield monitors?
Yes
You can always turn a big speaker down, but can't turn a small speaker up louder than it could
got a unit of hd560s for $100 ^ ^ though why did i buy them when i don like the new pads hmmm idk

Lol i received the 3m version
the old one for $100
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
for some reason i thought it was the 1.8m ver.
Does anyone know a Bluetooth speaker that is under/around $150, does not turn off automatically, still works while plugged in if it's battery powered, and is very very loud?

He's a famous rage baiter.
Seems like the the DT 990 Pro Treble made his hair fall out...
Also why this Stereo mic setup
Bro made a target that is just meant for DT 990s.... thats just bad
stereo mic setup is shit I would try to do
is that an A-B omnidirectional pair
he does ASMR....
It's based on getting guys like you to engage with his content
yeah probably
I didn't even have to watch the video to know it's not worth the time
Koss The Plug™ is the most gigachad design of in-ears.

Do i need a dac amp for HD6xx with this interface
6i6?
18i16
4th gen?
Yes
should work
but keep in mind
You should plug in Headphones that have atleast 88 Ohm
because the Output Impedance is pretty high (11 Ohm)
need headphones for my desktop, wired or wifi (bluetooth not prefered cus ive noticed bad latency in past) budget of £80ish maybe, need to be availible in the UK
thoights on this?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/357649412189

They're not bad tbh.
why is it so high wtf
its bluetooth which you said you don't want
the 2i2 4th gen has 50 Ohm at the Output xD
How does your 6xx sound with that interface
it does wired aswel
i like wired
seems to be a tertiary concern on audio interfaces
even beyerdynamics one is like 40ohm zout
it shouldn't really sound different
My goal is to have this person listen to it and realize that if it's sounds fine, its probably okay.
So by me asking this question, they learn how to listen and don't feel compelled to come in here whenever they have a simple question and can just listen and make that call for themselves.
Sony WH-1000XM3 have a 3,5mm jack, is it just for Audio or microphone as well?
think it's either the cable included does not transfer mic or the jack does not support it
hmm
well is the cable 4 pole or 3 pole
Hey whats that company that makes modern Android mp3 players and i think dacs, filo flio or something
I cant remember how it's spelled
Idk I've just downloaded some Samsung music app off the google play store and it works great. No ads either. I use it all the time 💀 lowk addicted to music
FiiO.
Thanks
No I was looking into something else I think they make but I just couldn't remember their name and figured they are probably best know for the things listed
Oh okay 😅
If i where to get a mp3 i would 1st off need a fuck ton of money to buy all my songs and 2nd off have a good excuse like taking it somewhere with low service and not wanting to use my phone battery as much
Even then my grandpa got a old ipod classic i would break out of its box and mod
my most beloved feature of those DAP's is being able to use them as USB-C dac/amp wherever.
phone, laptop, whatever
there's a few good reasons to use them, but ultimately if you're just looking to have a thing that makes noises, then probably better off with a phone
The fun part about buying the FLACs on like, qubouz and what not, is that slowly but surely you amass a collection.
if you get crafty, you can even buy CD's and stuff at estate sales/antique stores.
does dedicated dongle solve the mono audio issue for wireless headset when using mic
Are razer black shar good for 270€
that is a lot of money
still has a good chance of imaging more precisely and reliably than maxwell
no idea for sure, haven't used a fully kitted out blackshark v2 or v3
and no maxwell, just other planars
this was not a value assessment
how does it cost so much jesus
Razer greed
Are the maxwells no good?
10% off
Just got the pro 3s
Still no idea what linus is on about
I guess that maybe cymbals and hi hats sound a little worse? Almost lower quality? But i seriously can barely tell a difference between them and my pro 2s trying to swap back and forth
what did you expect
also why is linus using thick earpads on an m50x
this is a capitol offense
I call this one the orfice
he has reinvented the bandstop filter
idk why people are still recommending DT880 in 2025
what do you reccommend then
sennheiser hd560s
audeze maxwells are great
excellent audio performance for a wireless gaming headset
the main drawback is that theyre heavy
michael
mr grey
have you wore the audeze maxwell on your head for longer than 5 minutes
they are heavy
I got baited into buying them from the headphones.com hypetrain
they are not good 💀
its one of the least detailed planars I ever heard
they are objectively good but yes quite heavy
ive been looking at the aeon noire X and XO lately because theyre so gah damn pretty
nah the treble sounds like it has a massive 4kHz scoop
uggggggg
why do they have to be so pretty
i must stop looking at $1300 headphones, i dont even like headphones
all the high end DCA headphones sound shrill
the stealth and the expanse
ive never tried any DCA headphones
ive still never gone to any audio shows so ive only tried what ive bought
the Noire XO despite being open, isn't actually that open
I need some Sennheiser HD800s with the DMS 6kHz peak mod and a capra strap
isnt that true of all DCA headphones
at least in comparison to Hifimans which are completely open
kind of a hard standard to live up to
the flow dca aeon 2 open was pretty open (old model from 2020)
tho its tuning left much to be desired
man, I wish I was still new to audio and buying a Hifiman HE600 actually would still make sense
just finished up soldering a cable so I can plug my dt880 into my feliks audio vibe tube amp, that I had only been using as preamp until now
now I can confidently say that yes even with a tube amp, you still get murder treble
i am currently undecided between some model of astro a 50, those or the fractal scape
i would stay wired but my new setup requires wireless since i will be moving between a couch and a standing desk
I didn't get to use them because im waiting on an RMA
The usb thing on mine was DoA.
I generally like Audeze. I have the LCD2, LCD-GX, and the LCD-S20.
The weight of them dont bother me much.
weight thing is such a cope
weak ass necks
Fr fr
Its a little sad that my maxwells' had a defect when theyre new, but is ok
Someday ill get a replacement lol
I think they did improve on the headband a bit with the new design
The LCD-S20 has a similar thing to Maxwell
Maybe its a little more comfortable than the old one.
fellas how do we feel about Klipsch R-41M's. Heard they're decent for the money but lack low end. I'm looking for a speaker setup for my desktop and need some around that size to comfortably fit on my desk, and maybe add a sub later.
Don’t buy from klipsch
Too expensive and too bad
Much better prices for better items can be found, especially if buying second hand
Looking to probably buy new out of convenience tbh
Goal is preferably <500ish USD for speakers + interface/amp or whatever
I just also have odd space constraints lol
bad for desktop.
Yeah it’s hard to do bookshelves well for desktop
I was looking at JBL 305p MKii's
https://vanatoo.com/shop/speakers/transparent-zero-plus/
https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/iloudmm/
https://www.adam-audio.com/en/desktop/d3v/
Vanatoo’s Transparent Zero Plus active speakers are made using the same high quality materials and workmanship that Vanatoo’s products have come to be known for throughout the industry. The speakers reproduce music exactly the way it was recorded, with solid bass, clear midrange, and sparkling highs. The integrated bi-amped amplifier ensures...
iLoud Micro Monitor is the smallest studio reference monitor in the world
but they're large enough that I could fit them on my desk, but probably not tilt them to my seating position very well
also good. they're just kinda chunky and use special connectors so its gonna be a little bit more work than plug and play
Bookshelves are huge and you need a lot of space to fit them well, my desk currently is a bit too small for mine. To have them comfortably you need a desk at least 7 ft wide
my desk is like 6.5ft wide
Fr
The only way to have good speakers wi the multiple monitor is to stack vertically or just buy purpose built desktop speakers
Yeah that just makes it hard to have nice speakers
vertical stack gang
I designed my setup around the speakers as you can see lol
The pc can be offset to a nearby dresser if I just got a longer DisplayPort cable so that’s not much of an issue
I did the math, I would have roughly 8.25” on each side once I moved my PC and put my displays in the direct center
same but other way around
That’s not enough for bookshelf
because i have huge speakers i cant get 3 monitors lol
Vertical stacked monitors aren’t an option for my as that white part of the wall in that pic is sloped
but yeah I just want to have a nice audio setup and not have to use headphones all the time
My HD560S’ are nice but they’re physically fatiguing after a few hours lol
I’ve been getting by with the TV speakers but they ain’t great
sorry id help you but you are michaels friend
With your current monitor setup, idk how. You could change it however so you have your main, and then two monitors landscape on top, making a T shape. Then with the space under those monitors you can put speakers. (At least that’s my current upgrade path if I wanna get 3 monitors)
like I said, vertical stacking isnt really an option because of the sloped roof
I have like 11 inches of clearance above the TV to the part of the sloped roof
clearance is clearance
well your top monitor should be tilted down
side monitors are 14.5 inches tall
which should provide some extra clearance
what ashuran said
3.5 inches of tilt would be a terrible viewing angle ngl
Theoretically maybe you could put some horizontal bookshelves above your main, but that would be weird and you’d get some funky interference
mount it to the sloped wall 😈
ok so like i get what you're saying
but what im saying is i would have to tilt them down 3.5 inches to clear
wait am i drunk
Yes
i might be stupid LMAO
lmao
LMAO
tylenol
fr fr
i be profen
idk I just want funny overkill setup
ok sure
uh
get creative pebbles or something ig
or spend like 500$ on a soundbar
I wouldnt consider myself an audiophile but I like accurate audio
I paid like an extra 3k for my car for the bose system lmao
you could put a speaker above the computer on the left but i dont see the right side
pc will be moved
what was your budget again?
Don’t buy these they’re bad, but theoretically you could put something like this above your monitors currently
I love Arduino
i HATE arduino
Literally a cheat code to projects
Idk how weird it would sound for the speakers to be above you
But it’s a possibility ig
could put them upside down for the tweeter alignment
not sure how i'd mount em. Dont really want to wall mount
cant you use the desk
There’s speakers stands
I could just get some floor stands and have them on each side of the desk
This is a universal speaker stand for most speakers. It is with a wide compacity spring-loaded plate and a wide pole that could hide speaker cables. It is a simple and elegant way to elevate your speakers. This is a must-have space-saving accessory for your home or office. Please note that speake...
Made a little system that would read the code from a remote then use that to control a relay that stops or allows power to my motor. I'm going to use that system in a little cat feeder I'm designing
Ok well that’s too tall, but you get the idea
But it's also going to take signal from some water level readers for protections
So it doesn't run it's pump dry, and so it doesn't overfill the bowl
seems like they could reasonably fit
cant you just use float switches
there we go
The relay works well here because it's robust and I only need an ok or off state, and I don't need fast switching
just pay indians to press the buttons for you
i relay deez nuts to your mom
someone buy me please
if you had to put it in headphones terms, how good are these?
💀
way better than your hd560s
word
speakers are just better unfortunately
what interface would u use w em
They are powered, you don’t need an amp
anything that has rca outs or quarter inch outs
gongle

what if ya boy wants a sub later tho
ya boy can just buy a powered sub
you get a sub with a passthrough
and any decent one will be like that anyways
probably
meme
k
so all i'd need for em is speaker wire to connect them, and then RCA to aux to my mobo?
its for studio applications with a fuck ton of interference
those might come with it
speaker wire i am pretty sure does
rca to 3.5 idk
It does include RCA to 3.5 but doesnt list the length lol. Probably will have to buy one
just buy a 3.5 extension cable
sidenote whats a good price for these?
i heard them go for like 90€ which is pretty crazy
but id say the normal price is about 130$
they're $189 USD on amazon
like $400 almost
i mean
you dont seem like you'll be getting a better deal
so idk may as well take the hit lol
wait one sec
let me check
I need an interface with those no? also desk space concerns again lol
check MR3BT
those are also good
feel free to go for them
may be even better than mr4
if we are to trust graphs
its fine
same thing
one is bluetooth one isnt
90% sure
deciding on this stuff hurts my head lol
Hmm these Adam DV3's seem to be having volume issues
Ordered the MR3's
Basically it isn't a consistent volume while rising the volume
Welp got the other speaker workin. Now we got a 3 speaker setup that sounds pretty good based off its age
Better demonstration of the bass
Those remind me of some old Cambridge Soundworks speakers I had
Those were garbage, though.
what is that wheelbase
it has the center of g27, half of the buttons and rim of g29
PXN V9. Good if you want a ATS steering rig cheap
I plan to get the G923 in the future
what is an ats
American Truck Sim
oh
Yea
nope. The 320 dollar one
I'm not planning on doin crazy racing or anything. Just sim driving in Beam NG and other similar games. I mainly just want a steering wheel I can rely on and one that has force feedback
please dont buy a belt driven wheelbase for 320$ lmao
get a moza r3 or something
its a direct upgrade by every way possible
4nm direct drive base
im not a moza fanboy btw its just the prices are good, if you are down for it id tell you to just build your own wheelbase
I got a 15nm DD I made for like 150$
Ah. I'll take the advice into account. Not a big fan that the R3 requires the clutch pedal to be bought separately
But we'll see what happens
you want pedals included as a bundle?
Clutch brake and gas and steering wheel with force feedback
ooh the clutch yeah i see it
I already have a shifter picked out
yeah clutch you'll have to get
idk man its such a substantial upgrade over the belt driven wheelbase
its really best for you to take like an additional 20-40$ hit for the clutch pedal
Alr
pedals dont really break either so you could just grab 2nd hand whatever on ebay
maybe even cut it in half lol
lol
Do these look like they would be good for Atmos height channels? They claim that plastic arrangement makes for better off-axis treble
unsure if anyone here fucks with atmos
ask in sonic visions maybe
a lot of speaker boomers there
Is that another Discord?
yea just google it
Thanks
np
Only other audio Discord I knew of was Z Reviews, and that has been paywalled to death
There's DMS too, actually
i dont think either of those communities are good lol
z is a self admitted shill that just sells whatever for affiliate
dms idk honestly but he's done some weird stuff
Yeah
I found Z funny, but I don't care for his reviews since he started doing the extremely expensive stuff
Golden Sound is another good Discord Server
I think he's in here
yeah he is here
Probably the most credible
ive not interacted with his discord that much but provided his character i dont expect it to be a shitty echochamber
gone to shit ever since they purged all the people that actually know what they're talking about a few years ago
anyone use Roon?
I want to know if it's any good.
and if you think it is good, why. or why it's bad.
waste of money
how do you paywall a discord
you can lock channels behind patreon subscriptions, theres the server subscriptions, etc
I see lol
just curious, can you elaborate?
it seems neat, if it can bridge Tidal and my home library well
let me fix this for you
it's marketing
I revoke their arrow playtime privileges
a small waveguide on the tweeter isn't a bad idea though
this looks ok, but it also has some windows vista vibes
Just wanted to share some pics of my audio setup and a vid of it at 55% volume.
Please forgive the wrappers around the subwoofer, the trashcan back there fell over and spilled out half of its contents on the floor the night before taking the pic of the subwoofer.
Here's a pic with my current eq on the graphical equalizer in case anyone is interested.
And please forgive the poor audio quality in the video, It was filmed on my note 20 with its mic.
what would be an alternative to the Beyer DT880s? Also, no more Beyer recommendations please
Thanks
880 + ta-66 😈
Bruh
He560v4 is a good option to look into, but I've had a bad experience with hifiman. Anecdotal, but worth mentioning.
yea, same as me and BD
headphones sound good, but build quality is atrocious ...
it's like you got them off of TEMU or something ... shockingly bad
talking about BD btw.
I was thinking about going Sennheisers purely because they just seem to be solid
I probably wouldn't consider Chinese headphones, as good sounding as they might be ...
but then again, Germans aren't what they used to be either ...
Thanks for the recommendation dude. They sound great.
as crazy as it is, my hifiman EF400 is in a little open cabinet, and I was slightly worried about heat. so i added a smol noctua fan driven by an esp32 to turn it on when the amp is on, and now i think the amp is too cool lmao
why not?
even other brands whom aren't from China use some parts produced from China. it's hardly exclusive to China to produce sub-par products.
👍
look up ideal speaker placement
on google images
lol
I uhh…
sound good 👍
AT2020 gang
did it come with any foam
I got mine on Amazon for like $65 years ago and they randomly jumped up to like $120
Nah
<@&750150305383186585>s explode this guys balls
yea, they're amazing ... you literally don't need anything better unless you're some sort of an audio guy
I love mine

Thanks
I considered upgrading to an XLR mic but like… for what lol
Does yours also get super bass boosted/distorted sounding if you go above about 80% volume in windows?
That’s my only complaint. But if I just keep the input volume at 80% it sounds great.
not sure, I have mine at like 60ish pct
oh wehn did you get those
Today
nice
Just hooked em up
that desk is too clean
yeah I now barely use my headphones after getting my speakers lol
Get yourself some speaker stands
hmmm y tho
gets them off the desk so sounds doesn't bounce off of it
tbh you can 3d print some
I’ll still definitely use my headphones for competitive games
that too
yeah if I was doing any VC with friends or comp stuff I would use my headphones
20 minutes of swearing at Autodesk for it being cloud based, 10 mins of actual CAD.
man i miss Eagle ):
This is deadass why I haven’t gotten into CAD lol
Fusion pissed me off
buy Solidworks for Makers for $48.
Permanent license?
yearly, but it's better than Fusion's BS.
as much as i have massive beef with Dassault, the $48 a year choice was a no-brainer after nearly yeeting my pc out the window
Autodesk completely ruined Eagle lmao
I think OnShape is free, no?
@lean grove 2 nitpicks I have with the Adam DVS3's the inconsistent volume going up vs going down and that they turn themselves off after a while of not playing audio when plugged into my PC
And that I have to keep changing the volume depending on what I am listening to(never had this issues with other speakers/headphoines)
Basically I have to push it beyond where I need the volume before backing up to where I need it and even then I can't get it just right
Looks like I need to fiddle with the volume of my PC as well as the speaker to get levels just right
Yeah size is perfect
thats a problem with what youre listening to, not the speakers themselves.
Sound great once I dial them in per audio I am listening to
if you use spotify, theres a setting called "sound normalization" which might help
I use youtube
as well as my own audio files
Same with video game s being lower then normal volume for me
Meaning my other notifications are going to be blowing me ears out
When they come through while gaming
that kinda just sounds like you need to sort out the volume you have set for various programs in the OS mixer
Never had to touch it before this and even within the same app the volume isn't consiszstent
where did you order it from? I was just browsing through different DAPs on Linsoul
kinda wondering if Linsoul is okay for European customers
found this one faulty on ebay (battery cold solder joint)
but you can still buy direct from hiby
okay

64gb int + 256gb microsd
320gb storage
but reported 576gb lol
wow the price is not too bad
would think Evangelion theme could spike the price up
it do also have 64gb storage vs normal version 32gb
also faster storage
orignal emmc
eva ufs
do wish it was asuka themed tho not shinji
but it sounds soo mutch better than my phone dac
with same corsair virtoso headset
but realy theres only one aproprate song to play on this
I cracked my Cowon player's screen by accident.. are there any players which could support 2 microsd cards?
can you not find a screen replacment
hmm I will find out
What EQ software does everyone use?
I use FXSound for it's simplicity, but idk what else would be out there
Besides APO, which is kind of a apin (for me)
apo
What is this?
I'm surprised
I tried to use APO, but I gave up in like 5 minutes because it was completely unnavigable lol
watch a 10 minute tutorial on it
program is simple but if you have zero minutes of research on how to use it
you can't use it
I did
I thought I was doing something wrong
Watched a tutorial and still
what is the issue
This was months ago
But I couldn't navigate any of it, tutorial or not
I know that they have plugins and etc, but thats a rabbit hole and a half
define like
1 problem
its just a literal txt file in gui form
you tell it to boost 20hz
it does that
I would have to try it again, I think I tried to forget about it. 😅
I think one of the problems had to do with presets?
Roon
its music bee
but you pay 500$ for it
really cool program that helps you delete your disposable budget
Ooh that program
I can't live without roon now tbh
This may be a dumb question but does anyone know if EQ’ing my MR3’s would also effect headphones using the headphone jack on the speakers themselves?
If you're doing the EQ on your OS/before the speakers then yes, the audio is EQ'ed before sending to them so anything they receive and pass to the headphone jack will be EQ'ed
If you're talking about the EQ on the speakers themselves then they shouldn't affect the headphone output
The edifier app has somewhat limited EQ functionality so idk how I’d end up doing it. But good to know.
my kanto sub8 is receiving power but not working. it has been working fine for 2-3 years until now
Is Austrian Audio a good brand?
they have weird headphones. I liked the composer but i would never pay $3000 for it
I was more looking along the lines of the X55, X60, X65. Somewhere there.
what for?
Music production, actually diving into some better headphones. Plus I like the designs of those models.
hmmm....
yeah i mean. im not a producer. but i know that those headphones are funky. they have a really unusual tuning where they have a w shape sound, boosting some frequencies and dipping at others
yeah they're utterly unique
I don't know why Austrian audio purposefully tunes their headphones like that, but they do it consistently
so you can see theres a bump in the mid-bass at 100-200hz, a dip in the mids, and then a peak at 1-2khz
Alright. Hmmm... Aren't a lot of the engineers former AKG engineers?
that's the story
Pull up a graph of, say, AKG K712s.
this is from a different measurement rig so the measurements arent exactly comparable
And the X55s and X60s are closed backs. shit. Forgot to mention that 😂
I didn't really care for the austrian audio hi-x60's I had
I thought they were kinda uncomfortable and sounded a little funkeh
alr, i wanna get a nice surround sound system for my 4k monitor i got for free at a raffle: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/K3PQzy/samsung-tu874-315-3840x2160-60-hz-monitor-lf32tu874vnxgo
and these are the speakers i currently have: https://www.amazon.com/LENRUE-Computer-Speakers-USB-Powered-Sound-bar/dp/B096YZDSCQ/142-2017528-9847818?pd_rd_w=kHZfc&content-id=amzn1.sym.20285f2e-8a53-4f04-80ac-72a8e70f8611&pf_rd_p=20285f2e-8a53-4f04-80ac-72a8e70f8611&pf_rd_r=V089AJZ75H4KKBC5GFJ0&pd_rd_wg=2B0qa&pd_rd_r=4121be50-c996-4041-93e5-8ddb4c749b78&pd_rd_i=B096YZDSCQ&th=1
Any suggestions? this is for a desktop set up, also ive noticed alot of good quality stuff is expensive
would a 5.1 channel be a bit much?
I've got HD6XX headphones, and I'm looking for a way to connect them to my phone. I'm also wanting to start building my home audio system. Is there a device that would work for both?
If not, what portable USB C to 3.5mm adapter would work well for on the go?
FiiO KA11
Kind of? There's the qudelix t7i which is capable of surround sound and Bluetooth and it's portable.
hey guys can anyone hear recommend me some good headphones (for gaming) like 100 or less
not with a mic plz
oh yeah it can be wired or unwired idc
idk if either is better or not

soundguys? havent heard of them
Get a feel for what's out there that might meet your needs and budget. Check RTINGS.com as well.
do u have any ideas tho?
What do you guys recommend for connecting an XLR microphone and a bass guitar to my computer?
(Budget friendly but also sounding good with my bass)
KSC75
how budget?
GUYS
i got arctis nova 5 headphones are those good?
ive heard steel series is pretty good and they have a good rating on rting.com
just wanted to know what the people here think
ndh20 user here
I mean if you want something with precise placement and distances in the soundstage, maybe not the right product
if you want something that'll recover more details and possible mixing errors, lets you study any instrument without soloing, really effectively design kicks/snares, and judge volume levels between instruments,
well that's an ndh20
they've replaced the jobs of my monitor speakers and hd600
I don't think divine intervention could give another headphone around this price a chance to be more revealing
I heard things on these I couldn't hear on focal stellias and an lcd-x
but maybe a more sane combination of sound behaviors exists
these are overkill in the ways I described
pc37x, he400se, used/second hand hd560s, ugreen max5c if you don’t mind smaller pads, akg k361
which games? and what are you trying to hear or experience in these games
also can you use free eq software if necessary
i’ve tried kph30i’s for example in gaming and they weren’t very usable
but everyone has different ears and taste, to me their treble was off and had metallic profile, soundstage not really good which is probably important for games
also got grado pads on them, i mean, yeah better soundstage… but the treble was more for the elderly
Jackson can you measure ugreen max5c? according to few sources they measure very well at $30
i mean, they do be sound good
Sounds perfect. Thanks man
yeah, I can do that early next month
it has a headphone jack too so
people sure do like to recommend HiFiMan headphones. I've never actually used them. I have their EF400 amplifier, it's ok, good for what I use it for. Not sure about their headphones tho
How does one measure a speaker?
with a calibrated omnidirectional measurement mic
Is it important to do it in an enclosure or do i get mostly the same measurements everywhere?
you can take measurements of how it performs in a specific spot in your room. changing either of those two things will cause mild to severe changes in the measurements
try measuring maybe 10 spots you'd possibly be in when listening, then average
also don't go to steep and severe with the bass correction. it'll cause ringing and make things worse
Would anyone have suggestions on what I should get as a next headset? I have a Kraken V3 Pro and it’s a nightmare to deal with. I have the budget range of under 300 USD.
FPS games and story games and idk man audio 😭 I got the Arctis nova 5’s coming so hopefully those are good
saw some people reccomend them and they looked good so 😭
oh ok
honestly I wouldn’t bother with a headset. Seperate headphones and mic are almost always better anyways.
Like good headsets exist but they’re too expensive for what they are imo
300usd is a big budget
I guess some of the hyped wireless ones are a little further
but hype is never real so
what do u think man are arctis nova 5's good
u seem like u know a lot
they got like a 7.6 on that rating website people send the link too
idk if thats good \
I only got to try them for about 60 seconds at a store
but there are lots of ways a headphone could be seen as good or bad
I remember the treble sounded weird and artificial, kind of like shp9500
ive only used like 60 dollar turtle beach stuff my whole life so its prob a upgrade loll
they didnt separate sounds / preserve clarity of each sound when many are overlapping, any better or worse than a lot of $50 headphones do
but the tonal balance seemed pretty decent at a glance
and they seemed to do well with the directions of sounds in that demo. obvious sense of direction, and moderately tight area it points to
hopefully I'm not confusing any of that with the astro a20
that and the hyperx cloudx were the most interesting of the bunch, to me anyways
honnestly i mainly got it cause the build quality looked like it wont snap in 8 months 😭
Yeah I have a boom mic but really prioritize music since that’s like my main focus when I go to my pc.
I havent heard of any common build quality issues yet with the nova lineilup
And when there is certain notes, I hear like a static in the headphones.
alright bet cause i have some corsair like 60 buck ones and there starting to snap 😭
anything is better
thats sad man i hope u get some better ones!
Yeah, I am looking into some that last longer but have good sound quality, which is virtually impossible with a 250-300 USD budget.
time to ball out and save and get some 2k headphones loll

yesss sirrrr u got that
yuhhh
alright ima excuse myself lmaoo

i do sometimes find hiby controler mode funny when shows wrong album art lol
in short. the new ones are actually good.
the other ones. Sound good. with the typical 2K dip and mostly a bit bright
MMM would work too
u from USA?
Yes.
Imma figure out what this means. Thank you though!!!
its a mic
@green marsh i like the hifiman sound
the new Hifiman headphones, the unveiled sound good
they feld good too. but idk about the build quality and QC
umhmm
I ordered some new headphones as my other ones are glitching out

On sale BTW
Great price for some great headphones. I bought the WH-1000XM3's for the same price years ago. Sound great, feel great, noise cancel amazingly, and unlike the 1000XM5's, the headband didn't break in 6 months!
Oof
Yeah I got JBL LIVE 770NC I use for work, the earpads are pretty done at the moment
And they got paint and stains on them as well, so work headphones would stay at the woodshop
Sony xm
run before the audiophiles arrive
Not all audio products need to be "high quality" (subjective) to be enjoyed by everyone's ears.
That's why you gotta run before anyone can convince you otherwise
Nah. It's like looking at a tube TV compared to a clean OLED.
Jk yeah preference exists
I liked some tracks on the Fosi headphones as example
No vocals tho
Vocals sound straight up shit
It's like Golden likes the 1266 for some stuff 😄
same bro
If you only care about sound... Ugreen max5c, though they have similarly small pads
With a subwoofer it's a decent deal.
You'll need an amp as well so factor that into the overall cost too
just bought. subwoofer from klipsch too
everything only have 2 inputs, i would need a amp with pre-out?
was thinking Fosi Audio BT20A Pro
now i need cables.. 14awg i guess
What's the back of the sub look like
That thing on the bottom is the subwoofer?
Top, bottom is 2.5kg speaker
Okay. So that makes things a bit more complicated.
That's a passive sub so you'll need an amp specifically for it.
Are you sure it's a subwoofer and not a center channel
That is a center channel. Not a subwoofer.
Yup. Just saw on google
So it's meant for home theater for dialogue and stuff
its meant for home theaters to make movies sound worse
I though it was a sub, what a stupidity
Oh well
Soo i would need an amp with support for center piece
is there an non expensive way to connect the center channel? or its only with home theater amp?
AVR i see..
Yes and no.
There are some very silly and inadvisable things you can do that are non-expensive. But to fully utilize the center channel you need a surround sound decoder of sorts.
i see. theres AVR which is expensive but does the 2 things
or i need a surround sound decored + AMP
Honestly I would recommend you just ignore the center channel.
You're using the sunk cost fallacy to buy something more expensive and overall worse that you probably don't need.
Just stick with the stereo system.
can also just sell the center channel off and treat it like a coupon to get the speakers cheaper
since iam in an island, selling the center piece chance is very low, but got it.
the KG2.2 alone should be great
with somth like Fosi Audio BT20A Pro
its just a bummer since 180€ for kg2.2 only is not that GREAT deal, but i have to feel reality 😄
thank you!
Are Truthear pure good for under $100 Iems for competitive gaming and music
Does the TDR Nova EQ make the EQ always be active?
don't admit you like something because someone will try to convince you that you actually hate them
fuck fiio ft1, problem solved
lmao
yes
with Apple Dongle ofc

Replaced my hd380 pros with HD6xx why do the HD6XX sound so tinny and bad
iems > headphones
iems dont mess up mah hair
Is it objective in all situations, or just some?
i talk about sound
the most important thing for an Audio Product
So any headphone always beats iems at any price?
there is KSC75
also tech has specific entry prices
and sweetspots
IEMs use less material and nowadays are oftenly 3D Printed
also price is irrelevant when it comes to sound. Because you can have cheap stuff sound good and expensive stuff sound shit
they're mid focused headphones
The main reason I dont agree that headphones are always better is mainly one of simple mind.
If they were truly always better, you wouldn't see them. They have advantages in size.
Sound is great and all, but sound does no good if you cant use them.
we gotta admit they're not for bass enthusiasts (the hd6xx bass actually sucks) and well, upper treble also could see some work
With that being said, yeah, headphones will do a better sound than iem's.
....sometimes.
to me things like he400se and hd 6xx are paper cannons
bro is tripping
quantity and quality are not the same thing
yes, the hd6xx have neither
bro doesnt have ears
what if they got chopped off
i have hd560s and 6xx just sound like paper cannons when it comes to bass (compared)
could be a lizard
blud needs an amp clearly
i do . . .
tbh. today i learned to be cautios about Amir Headphone Measurements
117db upper bound, looks so squished
what happened
just today?
Seems like Amir just throws the Headphone on the rig. measures it. done
he doesnt take multiple ones
no different seatings
ye
i mean he says he does in some of his reviews
will boldly post obviously faulty measurements
I like preference reference though
it's like putting table of tables in a test plan
it's unlikely every reviewer got the bass rolloff wrong of the hd6xx
i love how amir also uses harman on a rig that harman isnt meant for
what rig is he specificly using?
he has all that white space on the side to put his dirty analysis and chooses right on the plot
JM-1 🥀
ugh
i just dont like JM-1
looks the same i guess
also notice how his plots don't have an x-limit of 20kHz
almost
well they do it just doesnt have the number
