i still need to find a sub for below 50hz but i dont know if i can find one that plays around 30 hz or lower thats cheap
or if i can make one
i could do with having a box thats 4 - 5 foot tall if i made it myself
i can make a box
im not really sure on a budget i think less than £400 but it can change
its just to add a low end to 2 speakers because they cut out at 50hz
i dont think they can get loud enough
Do multiple subs
i need 2
Stereo subs
the speakers im putting them with can operate up to 120 db spl at 1 meter
Dayum
not measured it myself
I'd do two 8"subs and have an external amp
the speakers themselves are 15 inch
a lot of cheaper subs are for cars im not sure if they will work or not
what about subs because i have a 1000 watt pa amplifier already
it can output 1000 watts at 8 ohms which may be a bit high for a sub
it might be 4 ohms
yes 4 ohms
500 watt per channel at 2 ohms as well
i have one i just need to fix it
it has filters on it anyway
it has switches on the amp u can change the frequency outputs
i could look for subwoofers on facebook market place too and make my own box
Sounds good
Don't do multiple subs
Why's that
Because people that put subwoofers in their cars are degenerates who make society worse
Bruh
Not even kidding doing anything to make your car louder should be punishable by jail.
One asshole can easily annoy hundreds of people every day. Everyone hates it.
Technically illegal in a lot of places but that's beside the point.
For studios,dual subs are better
they said pa amp so probably something for a stage. tho yeah using it in a house or studio is no it's for stages or clubs. as i use a low power pa setup as desk monitors and it's overkill
Is stereo subwoofers even useful
I've always heard that you can't tell directionality with that frequency range
Below 80hz you start to lose that ability. But what the dual (or more) subwoofers do is spread out the sound so you don't run into room nodes.
Multi-sub. Does it work?
In this video I show a fairly rough test I ran using the 4 infinite baffle subs that are located in the front wall of my listening room. I also have a smaller sub that I can move around and I put that in 6 different locations to see the results.
Just from measuring the 4 fixed subs I can easily see that the frequency re...
This video does a pretty good job showing that
debatable
if your speakers have falloffs where your subs are still linear ig its useful
but you should be getting better speakers at that point rather than another sub
Watch the video Klaus
no?
I don't think that's how physics should work
I that doesn’t look like ai at all
if you have the appropriate space then yeah more subs more better
oh no
you would think its for a stage considering its a pa setup but i just have it in my bedroom
for now anyway i just use it when i need them they just live in there
you dropped it...?
Yep
where can i find equalizer presets?
if you can, use one of the measurebaitors that have a 5128
nightmare inducing
another option: https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq/blob/2dff3b2666357204076e9e064426a8762b992718/results/README.md
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256879837057 Is this a good line array?
Looks like an absolute ripoff
10k pounds for some cosmetically shit speakers that don't even have working amps
Oh missed that it's a full set of two 12 arrays
Eh, still seems expensive for being heavily used and not looked after
Brother I work in the industry of professional audio and live events, and never seen any speakers in such bad shape, especially Meyer.
But until you turn them on, you don’t know. Guts could still be in good shape.
I think the condition is why they're priced like that
Cheapest I could find the individual speakers in good condition was about £800
Probaby ex-rental to be in that condition
while gaming? Like for talking on discord or something?
For like $500 a box its really good, but once you consider the condition and not all of them work, its not as good
I love M1D stuff though
When I worked for them I had a M1D-Sub under my desk
They have a pretty impressive frequency response given the small size
HF seems a bit weak, though
Maybe that's less of a priority in live sound
talking on discord or ingame vcs etc
yes
Were you giving them a clean signal?
80dB should be well within their limits
the cleanest of square waves
😎
they are not mine
Looks like a pet got at them or something
What happened to them all?
they tried to listen at 81db
Can't even get hearing damage with Kef speakers 😑
I guess maybe it is a feature then
like those table saws that self destruct before they chop your fingers off
I've never been that keen on Kef stuff tbh
I think they're ugly
Can't speak for the sound
Finally beating the poor allegations
anyone have experience with the framework audio expansion card, it apparently has a CX31993
i am kinda considering buying it so i can just insert it into my laptop without a dongle
actually this could get expensive thanks to mr trump
i wonder if it'll be better than the apple dongle
the apple dongle feels like the bass is a little weak
xd
it’ll probably be pretty much the same
apple dong and cx31993 are both low power but neutral dacamps
i only say that because i remember by macbook built in sounding like there was stronger bass compared to the dongle on the same computer
but i couldnt really find a way to blind test that
$19 is stupid im not buying the framework card
normally you get a switch box with potentiometers
which you can build yourself, not very difficult
you volume match them playing a static tone like 1khz
and then you ask someone you know to scramble the cables and start testing
thats a fun future project
im not sure if your card comes with a dedicated amp, but if only the dac itself works as an amp as well, you probably wont see any difference except in volume
if you want more bass, you might need a dac that supports peq/you can eq with peace apo via windows
if i really wanted to i could just use easyeffects
it probably is just the dac, they have pictures here https://community.frame.work/t/whats-inside-the-audio-expansion-card/37850/4
i only see like one chip
heh i dont see how you'd benefit from getting a dedicated dac except for more power and possibly better sampling assuming you actually have an audio file that matches its bitrate
apple dongle is kind of more than enough that you can just eq them
the only thing i was considering was so itd fit nicely into my laptop]
ah then i dont see why not
well for why not, i just remembered a bit ago that they do ship from taiwan and dont stock in the usa
so it'd probably be insanely expensive
although, might have no difference at all in terms of sounds, if you are looking for that sort of improvement
tarifs taking effect i see
probably
i don't feel like testing the waters
now i just have to carry a dongle in the box with my 7hz
i dont think ive seen a single dac in my life that doesnt support apo
equalizer apo
yes
its the best systemwide equalizer out there
and peacegui is an interface program for it if you aren't intelligent or patient enough to watch a 10 min youtube tutorial
i taught myself how to use base eqapo before i knew that peace existed
and when i look at peace now it just seems pointless
i cant wait until my stands arrive tomorrow
im rockin that 200Hz desk reflection cut in the Kef Connect app right now because the reflection off of my wood desk is awful
i remember being confused about was confing.txt being the only active config
despite the program allowing multiple ones
didnt know you had to incude them in the config, which makes slight sense
I un-installed EQ APO after getting Susvara
Chord Mojo 2 also has good enough EQ shelf filters
yeah there isnt any that doesnt. peq i meant is just a built in software thing like a fiio
where you can just universally use the same peq embedded for all your audio stuff
Are you on Mac or PC? @dull trout
im on pc
Have you tried fxsound
i did, did quite a decent job
tho its quite basic
also super low bitrate
16bit 48khz i think
i dont really prefer it since i use my dacs on 24 bit 96khz instead
*also 32bit 192khz but ye
and i dont really use eq anymore because my iem fits my listening taste
whats this and how to config for myself?
hey i did push it to 32bit 784khz at one time dont judge
I imagine you can really hear that extra bit depth
above 192khz? nah man
at some point some songs goes to shit
bit depth refers to the 32
ah
well, not really
but its nice to have that headroom
i can be balling 16bit and itll be more than fine
over 16 is pointless for reproduction
eh since i paid my dac to do 32bit
ILL USE THE WHOLE 32BIT
*you dont have to, i just want to

even then it wont even sample 32bit from source, let alone convert
which is a bummer but, ITS FINEEEEEEEE
good luck getting over 20bit at room temperature
why?
eventho its not really 32bit on analog output
uh, distracting myself from the fact that i paid too much for a dacamp is one thing
and uh the fact that my iem does not even come close to needing a dualamp setup
could've just gotten JM6Pro or something and ill be more just fine but here i am with Dawn Pro and TP35
but good thing is, both of those dacamps are tuned entirely differently so thats a plus
*trying to justify buying 2 usb dacamps lol
equalizer apo
you should look up a youtube tutorial
3d printed one of these
Cool
fix?
Hmmm
Tape the underside and and glue the top with crazy glue or something similar
is that the dustcap
if so you could probably universal glue it or weld it
Aye respect the wankers
Personally not a fan of those hard cable clips since I find they just get tangled into the cable and are more hassle to use than just a normal case
idk this seemed like the best
if you have a better one ill gladly use it
on thingiverse this was the universal one
i use my school's 3d printer anyway
Oh you want 3d printed?
i mean
if youve got a suggestion for a non 3d printed one that i can actually buy
sadly romania doesnt really have a great selection
I have a bunch of cases but I ended up liking the one that came with my iem the most
eh
i could just buy a normal case
yeah
the cable is a bit short, i had to buy an extender
Lmaooo
Got war shipped
I had the wankers 1, 2 on the way
The thing is like
I have a pelican 1010, kbear something case, KZ hard case, Tangzu case, the one that comes with Xinhs cables, and the ones that comes with certain iems
And I find that I come back to the one that came with this iem most often - it's just a normal small round case
And fits the cable and iem perfectly if I just wrap the cable around 3 fingers
could work
THOUGH
the rubber or whatever has went into the crack too
def not weld, its plastic
oh i thought it was metal due to the finish
you can replace that also
no parts
whats the point of all that then?, isnt it just worth buying a new sub?
no?
oh
its literally foam
isnt a dustcap like in the middle?
thats the middle no?
anyhow it's not a delicate subject you shouldn't be worried regarding the superglue and foam refurbishing
no you dont understand xD
most speaker foam eventually rots
yes
i mean its shape is different
speakers flex
that in the picture doesn't flex
the surround around it does
it just moves back and forth alongside ir
this is how it looks
Hmm
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9zUL56d-74 the power that this pioneer has jeez
its a pioneer TS-W203F btw
I need help setting up audio for my setup. I have an ultrawide monitor, i sit fairly close to it. And my monitor doesn't have speakers so i was thinking of buying them. but then i started to wonder if i should try out a soundbar instead.
What do you guys think? Is a soundbar even worth it for a PC setup where i'm sitting close or not? Main purpose is to do gaming and watch movies/anime etc.
If you guys have any recommendations around the 60-80$ range please let me know.
I have been told to just get the creative pebble pros and not bother with sound bars. but i would like to get more opinions on this.
I also saw this listing, listed specifically for ultrawide monitors... tho i don't understand how this soundbar is made specifically for that...?
sound bars typically become worth it when they can do stuff like auto room eq
which is several times more than your budget
so I would also recommend the pebbles
got it.
do mind not that even then they are still really mid
but are they recommended for PC setups in general tho?
soundbars?
oh wow.
ye
i mean its just a blocky speaker
its issue is that it has terrible size constraints which is the issue with most speakers in the first place
so high performing small speaker drivers are expensive and you'd have to pay a lot to get some that matches a regular quality speaker that does not have size constraints
I see i see.
can anyone help me find some good headsets?
for gaming and music
https://www.deltacogaming.com/product-page/dh310-stereo-gaming-headset-led-lights-black im pretty sure i theese rn
Stereo Gaming headse with massive 57mm drivers for that truly immense gaming sound. The earpads are equipped with synthetic leather for true comfort even during long gaming sessions that last for hours. The headset connects to your computer via two 3.5mm audio connectors, the USB-A male connector is for powering the orange LED's on the earpads an...
they suck sm😭 sound is so bad
budget?
what is 100 percent dollar
yes hyperx
?
I recommend cloud 2 specifically
Ohhh
Why tho if i may ask?🙂
its good
and better than alpha and most other headphones of the same price bracket
at least headsets
How is it better then the alpha
They are more expensive
Sorry i know nothing abt headsets
now this is what I like to see
the person asking for help having some sense of goals or isn't ready to take a random mention as a purchase decision,
and the helpers providing not enough information
lol
but I don't have the normal cloud alpha, and my cloud 2 is the old version (though there should be a lot of similarities to the new cloud 2)
cloud alpha mic is generally seen as more crisp and understandable compared to cloud 2
cloud alpha S is a different product from the normal cloud alpha. the thick earpads damage some sound performance stuff like sense of direction or hearing quiet sounds as easily
but I can wear them forever
cloud 2 has slightly boosted bass and treble, and in most games that support accurate direction of sounds, it portrays them quite well except for vertical maybe
it's not the most detailed headphone at these prices, I'll sometimes miss important sounds because they were covered up by other sounds at the same time, when it was avoidable on different headphones
but still half decent there
@elder thistle thank u dude
yee
so this one?
?
what abt theese tho?
yo
no, the cloud 2 core is not the cloud 2
it's a completely different and lower end model
that still says cloud 2 core...
I just said no
oh sorry
i though u said the cloud core and not jus cloud
mb
UHHHH
i dont think i can get the cloud 2
@elder thistle
is it suposed to be that much?
riddle me this... does Chrome not support anything beyond stereo sound? I can't get my subwoofer to output any sound from Chrome (2.1 setup)
nvm, it does, it would seem the limit is with Youtube Music website
I haven't tried these
I haven't tried a lot of less than 100 euro headsets in general
a lot of stuff from the u.s is not available there
nobody can give you an answer on what headset is probably best for you because we don't know your criteria
music and games is very vague
games are different, music is different
but again I can't be of much help
@elder thistle
yo
found the blackshark v2 for legit 21 dollers
is it a good buy until i can get somthing better?
Looks like with 5.1 set on Realtek drivers, I can't force audio to the sub in stereo mode - it truly has to be a multi channel audio source
what is the receiver like?
if you have one
how are these hooked up
im on pc, 5.1 channel outputs on the motherboard. I have the sub plugged into Center out (with center/sub swap enabled in Realtek drivers). Front speaker are in Line Out
there should be an option to set that port as a regular stereo out on the realtek control panel
should work if you do that
and also tick the box that allows you to use multiple stereo outs
you could also use the front IO panel
set it to 2.1 you dont need 5.1 settings
yo dude
yes
its trash
i have a deltaco gaming rn tho
i already replied to when you quoted the blackshark v2
upgraded from bottom barrel garbage to trash
congratulations
why not get like idk a good headphone in the 1st place
instead of another disposable headphone
because im poor rn dude
you had a 100 usd budget no
ill have to waits months to get the good ones
do you need a microphone
5.1 settings is the only way ive found to activate the output to the sub
have u used it?
its probably better than what you have and if you dont want to spend like 50-60$ on a headset
by all means go ahead
yeah ive tested it
even if I hadn't anyone who can read a frequency response graph can also come to the same conclusion
why is it bad?
there should be a box you can check in order to output from the back and front panel stereo outs at the same time
find that, mark front io as stereo and connect sub to that
it doesnt sound good
I can't really explain to you how something sounds bad if you don't know the terminology for it
in any case I already made my statement
if you want something better than your headphones and dont want to pay a lot of money then go get the blacksharks
its a reasonable outcome if you dont have a high budget and saving up is an issue to you
but can i even get anything good for 60 dollers
well how much were the cloud 2 again
non core right?
yes
i dont know what that means
yeah fuck that
thats a robbery
yeah honestly i dont know anything you can get for 60$ in that case
so even if undesireable blackshark may be your only option
maybe ask others and see if they have any headphones they recommend
and the thing is
i have birthday not so long from now
i can just wish me sum good
well
idk man give me a budget and features you want
ill tell you what you can get
to the extent of my knowledge
well i think i can get 150 in birthday gift
dont get the cloud 2
and i just want good sound for gaming and music
its worth it for 50$
genius! 🙂
it works
its not worth for 150$
and a OK mic
you are welcome
so rn i buy the blackshark?
btw my mics fr dont have a rating
someone else said ok get them
he also said they r shit
but 20 dolla is steal
alright klaus, one more question, this time mic related, if you dont mind?
sure
so klaus, sould i get them and just wish me sum better in birthday
but i could also just keep mine rn
its your choice man
thyere bad but ig i can wait
I have a fifine XLR/USB mic that I have connected to USB. I use it mainly for Discord and Microsoft Teams. I have noticed a bug in Discord with this mic, wherein inbetween times of push to talk, stopping, and push to talk again, my voice pitch will go up to something high pitched.
I have not had this issue in MS Teams, but there the mic doesnt use a push to talk.
I've been asking around in Discord tech support for months, but no one has an answer
thats incredibly odd
never heard of that one before
did you try reinstalling drivers
its just default windows drivers afaik
idk do a dual boot and use that one for a while lol
my friends just start giggling at me, and I know at that point in time that I sound like a chipmunk!
11
go to sound settings
I cant recall this issue while in win10, to note
in there find "More sound settings" option
to return to the win 7 control panel version of sound settings
yup
go to the recording tab and find your mic
go to properties
advanced
and disable all the shit there
its quite basic
yeah
dynamic mic etc
anyhow this is all i can remember
you should do the regular system repair stuff like sfc scannow etc
maybe do a windows install that keeps programs and files installed
and nuke discord with its %appdata content
make sure the realtek or other audio programs arent messing with the mic
my realtek audio console app doesnt have any recording options 😦
no idea
mhm, i'll go with this for now, everything disabled. If it still happens, I'll delete the appdata of discord
the only advice I got from Discord support was to disable noise suppression, which I did
havnt played with auto gain control, I'll try that as a next step as well
just really chillin out now with my subwoofer working again, thanks to you. This track is my test run: https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=N5XYFook7tI&si=CO_uSug3vC7GtHe6

I only play marvel rivals

theese any good?
no
😔
not really
because higher number does not indicate better quality
does it deserve to exist
also I have the incredible urge to take a scalpel to that tweeter and see how they did the voice coil
man
my IEMs have some static on whatever i use them on
is it some issue with them
or do they just do that
are u plugging it directly into ur pc?
i tried PC, jack to jack, usb c to jack (2 different adapters)
It's just a normal coil
what adaptors are they
relatively cheap ones tbf
some romanian brands
perhaps its the IEMs fault
i have 2 cheap ones
the tangzu wan'er and kz edx pro
both have this issue
If your source gear is shitty and your iems sensitive then you will get noise
motherboards are notoriously bad
thats fair
i replaced the cable on the wan'er with one one on the kz edx, and it now seems better?
get an apple dongle
works on any phone I assume
yes
hm
np
i underestimated how annoying reflections can be with speakers on a desk
i had to pull out the figurative scalpel in EQ
playin around with sine sweeps and eq apo
trying to combine my blue snowball with my phone mic and its predictably not working
the imaging gets super duper weird
and audacity sucks so its not really helping
it could be a timing mismatch because there is horrible time skew between my phone and pc
its audibly delayed after 30 seconds of recording
i think it is wiser for me to just use my phone alone for sound instead of trying to make some fucked up a-b + center cardioid setup that nobody in the world does
home properly grounded?
or at least your plug has proper grounding?
noise could just be from bad grounding
i happen to face this all the time, always 9 time out of 10 new dongle fixes the issue
Have you tried putting one of those fluffy pillows or blankets on your desk, it does wonders
Also, a cat is awesome at sound absorption
it seemed buying the apple one did the trick
thats good
static is just usually bad grounding or you have equipment leaking static
some static would hurt, dont ask how i know lol
@haughty girder well.. the missus made a bag for them
speakers so good i wish i could put them into my car,,,
Is the FiiO K9 any good?
naw
i put a high q cut at 145Hz after playing around with tone generators
it made a tremendous improvement
i know this looks insane but it helps sooo much
im experimenting with a range of gain values rn but 145Hz 6Q seems to be the best
i think -12dB might be meta
aye that's fire
get a MiniDSP UMIK-1 second hand
then sell it second hand again for the exact same price
This beast made my phone's camera unfocus😂
actually i should ask this here: having some problem with my hyperx cloud iiis, specifically the DAC
loud popping and crackling can be heard, regardless of usb/usbc port used
the last time i had this happen (also with a hyperx headset) you could update the drivers from the hyperx specific ones to the microsoft generic ones and you wouldn't have this issue but they're already using the generic drivers on the new DACs so
and the reason i don't use it with motherboard audio is because of crosstalk between the input and output (so people can hear whatever i'm listening to)
what exactly are you tryin to run? or what kind of tracks do you want to play?
Need recommendations for buying speakers for PC. I would prefer to spend around 3-4k rupees but i can stretch upto 6k. (i guess thats around 30-40$ and stretch upto 60-70$)
Currently consideiring the Creative Pebble Pros but i am wondering if there are any alternative products or anything that can give me similar quality for cheaper price. Primary use is movies, gaming, anime music etc
PS: Are soundbars in this price range even worth it?
Creative pebbles are as good as it gets for that price range.
And sound bars maybe, but most are unverified and they could be bad or they could be good
I see I see.
Main reason I'm getting speakers is cuz I've been using my in ear neckband for everything. And while I keep volume low, I use them for like 10-14 hours each day. And I've already started to experience some low ringing sound whenever I put them on.
I wanna get speakers to reduce this dependency on in ear earphones.
I have heard that headphones are better than in ear earphones. Tho I am not sure.
In-ears are really cost effective, and if your budget is under $100 in-ears are the best bang for buck.
Yeah but I already have in ears and they're kind of harming my ears... I think
And it's arguable that $100 earbuds can compete with top of the line headphones. Depending on who you ask.
But yeah comfort is a big problem
Plus it feels kinda suffocating having them in my ears all day long.
And the ringing. Is my main concern.
maybe the z313 if you have the budget and want a subwoofer
didn't have the whole kit, but I do like how those sattelites sound. solid treble extension and some detail, comparable to pebbles
once in a while there's also real 3.5" speakers in that pricerange. pitbull headliner hd3 was basically a dt990 250r in speaker form, minus the precise imaging
but at any rate, almost anything with a tweeter is a whole shelf up in what it can do sound-wise
that's very subjective and generalized
these seem legit but I have no idea how they sound nor do I specifically endorse them https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DTNX7VLW
example of creative pebbles vs some $100ish 3.5" speakers
Okay wow. The difference is... Noticeable.
The Z313 and these aren't available in India 🥲
This is one of the things about living here. Many of the actually good tech products aren't available to buy :/
o
I have Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro headphones at the moment. I listen to a mix of just about everything, but I've found that my Denon receiver's headphone output distorts on bass heavy stuff.
Hoping for an amplifier that won't distort at high volume
hm
well it shouldn't take much tbh
receivers often use a voltage divider system to send the speaker outputs to the headphone outputs
which means the signal still falls victim to behaviors near the voltage limits of the speaker amps
bass takes a lot of voltage
eh honestly K9 is too powerful for what you want to do
any dacamp, even portable ones actually should be able to provide you what you need
although if you are fixated on it, that is quite an awesome dac
Does anyone have a recommendation for an A/V receiver for a 5.1.2 setup? Currently thinking about the Sony STR-DH790 as it can be had for about $300 on ebay which i feel is a good price
What about these? Creative T60 are they good?

guys thoughts on the logitech g pro X 2nd gen headset?
i know that you people HATE headsets but i'd still like to know what yall think of that specific one (i currently have the hyperx cloud alpha)
Cloud Alpha is among the best in terms of closed back headsets
it's not tuned to absolute garbage
built decently
bc it's based off takstar pro 80
now Alpha S and newer have angled drivers which screw with tuning so ignore those
G pro X headsets is so stupid
there was a period of time (a few years ago) where we'd get at least one a day with the exact same issue with it not working
my sister has a g435 or whatever
I'd say just avoid any logitech audio in general
biggest bullcrap ever
yeah i did hear about the driver issued
logitech 🚮
logical technology gaming
i can only say from having a g430 from 2016 but it is terrible
"7.1 surround sound" yet the imaging does not creat any sound more than like 1 foot away
like the dsp for the "7.1 surround" doesnt even really work as well as just regular passive iems
what was the issue?
Does anyone know if the moondrop space travel has a master/slave connection or do the earpieces work independent of one another?
Whats a good/affordable 5.1 audio solution for a PC?
is bluetooth good enough? (pc has pcei bluetooth card)
hdmi?
i was running spif in 2.1+subwoofer
and the old dvd player burned out
looking for an upgrade, and have some speakers i can throw up for full 5.1
as always thanks in advance for any advice
all tws in general has a master slave connection when both turned on
one will only turn into a master if another is turned off
Yes, but I meant it as in can I use either just the left or just the right while the other earpiece is turned off?
On my sony xb700 i can't use the right earpiece if the left one isn't on since the left one is the master and it is the one in charge of the connection
yes. no problem
maybe i shouldnt have used this terminology lol but my answer here implies you can use them independently
i see, the space travel should be able to just fine
are these things ever good?
i think this is the kind of thing i would aim for, but its double what i have for a budget

You're probably better off buying an amplifier from an established manufacturer used
Those AIYIMA ones aren't too bad, though
Got some soundmagic e11c's and eq'd them, wonder what everyone thinks of the eq band. Lol.
This is the frequency response btw
Yeah, and surprisingly, the subbass is pretty damn good. Even eq'd like that, its not muddy.
Just loud.
Not bad for $8 earbuds.
Any tips to reduce sound i have noisey roomates also ,
i buyed bose quitecomfort ( 2024 ) for around Rs. 16k but its Anc is terrible indoors which other headphones should i m planning to buy Realme Buds Air 6 pro with 52dB anc will that be any better or CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ME ANY BETTER OPTION ( under $100 ) except APPLE ? pls try to keep it under $80 im broke 😔
Try in-ears under earmuffs?
from where
this looks... really bad
Chances are its compensated with Harman
and if that's the case, that's not bad other than having no treble extension
whts the issue with them can u pls elaborate i like the sarcasm tho
bro they r like for 200 dollars any cheaper ones below 80 dollars pls
I take it you are american?
naah m indian
(in ur terms a currymuncher )

I'm not surprised. Its a cropped screenshot from this amazon page for the earbuds I got.

will putting hard foam under my sub make any difference because it is on carpet
Found some foam like stuff and I was wondering if it's worth it
The port is on the bottom of the sub
i have some hard backed books i was using but i think this is better
it seems like usb to 3.5mm adapter have some sort of slight startup delay like bluetooth
is it possible to make it always on like normal 3.5mm and get rid of all the faint startup delay?
btw the audio hardware on my laptop is pretty much botched so i have to rely on either usb or hdmi
Hi, what would be the better option between the hd660s2 and the hd600? price difference being around 70usd more for the hd660s2
what are you trying to achieve or use it for
General use like music, gaming, and youtube
that's still pretty vague but ok
the hd600 is a rather revealing headphone with realistic tone and real life instruments, doesn't have much bass unless you use eq to boost it
the hd660s2 is supposed to have more bass and be way more spacious and accurate with positions of sounds in games that support it, but the tone is not as realistic and weird
so without knowing genres, exact game titles, what you prioritize etc. makes it impossible to give a useful guess
also I don't have the 660s2, but it's often chosen when the reasons I described are important to someone and the choice is between those two headphones
Hey I didn’t have a pc and just build one after 5 years without pc gaming. Now I am looking for some audio setup to game.
My plan right now: I found some barley used (less than 20hrs) HD598 SE at home. So I am considering getting a modmic + dac. Is this still the way to go or are there better solutions / suggestions on what I should get instead?
Thanks a ton! 😅
I eq'd them on my desktop.
sounds better, lol.
but not enough sub bass tho.
Modmic + DAC is fine. But it kinda locks you into a mediocre mic and a mediocre DAC.
If you're able to, consider a desktop USB mic with a boom arm. Something like a fifine t669, Samson q2u, atr-2100x, then that would be better than a modmic by a long shot.
I wonder if these are any good over long distances
I've used smth very similar acc
they work great until they don't
but I don't really have any issue with em
They can be decent enough just get good shielded wire
I've done this in my last studio, it worked well.
SubWoofer is 90% of good sound
cap
where's the bass
Where to get ball speakers
go to a trucker bathroom and ask if you can get some balls
full range speakers are expensive
can you buy me some please klaus
pretty please
no
🙏

ive been enjoying my kef lsx ii lt's after sorting out the 150Hz reflection
with my starke sw10 sub off to the side below my desk
usin 60Hz sub crossover and -9dB on its gain because it's in corner
ive been enjoying bread
fresh hot bread with a shmear of butter is hard to beat
nutella?
idk what nutella tastes like but i think it's hazelnut chocolate
wait you never had nutella?
nop
that is actually bonkers holy shit
ive never spoken to a person who hasn't had nutella in my life up until this moment
this is hard to digest
nothing is better than butter when we're talking about smearing something on any form of bread
bro you have to get nutella
this isnt a joke
like this is messed up
you haven't lived a good 5% of your life
youre trying to rob me of my uniquity
thats like trying to be unique by inflicting a disability on yourself
its like having your mental illnesses listed on twitter you dont want this
please acquire nutella as soon as possible you dont deserve living like this
idk ive never seen anyone be as passionate about it as you are right now
i usually hear that it's extroardinarily mediocre
bro wtf
Pioneer HDJ-X5.
Horrible? Not Horrible?
Looks like 80 USD on Amazon
"5Hz - 30KHz". Lol, I can't even hear that far...
Elton John SACD sounds pretty good. Sounds like it clips sometimes, but that might be the player or the nmastering
What the fuck
I mean nutella isn't that great IMO but how have you never had jt
bro is embodying the antichrist
false
peanut butter > nutella
peanut butter is great
peanuts in general are awesome
Everything that comes of them
this is cope
do grilles effect sound quality, like them metal ones on pa speakers
yes to some degree
i bought some iems but they have a static sound no matter what volume level i am using them at. i read online that a dac or amp could fix this. any suggestions for a relativily cheap dac?
apple usb c to 3.5 dongle
for pc?
yes
It's good, but it's not good quality chocolate.
Purists will hate it
I do enjoy my 70% madegascar dark chocolate but nutella/ferro rocher are simply fire
its like 30% fat its not really supposed to be good quality chocolate
you cant spread a 70% on bread thats what nutella guns for
also ferro rochers are great yeah
Nutella originated during a cocoa shortage lmao
lmao
so it was hazelnuts, sugar, and a relatively low amount of actual cooca
but it was good so can't really complain
I mean honestly speaking
as far as being a chocolate it may not go far but hazelnuts aren't a cheap component either
its a good thing for what it is meant to be doing, doesn't cheap out and has been consistent in its recipe for decades now
other stuff I usually consumed has significantly deteriorated while nutella has always been the same so I respect that part of their company
at the time Hazelnuts was much cheaper than cocoa bc of the shortage lol
yeah thats a fair assessment, not right now though
keep it as it is
exactly
so talking headphones for music and watchign videos, the 2 important factors are high noise cancelling as the most important, as well as longevity. dont want to need a replacement when they suddenly stop working after a year or less. battery life just needs to be decent to get through 1 day (4 hours active + 8 hours idle). sound quality is pretty whatever tbh, sth mediocre will do.
needs to be wireless and compatible with any OS, at least Ios, windows and android.
aesthetics absolutely dont matter, as well as a microphone or other features. it really just needs to be good at isolating outside noises, while lasting the day and not breaking down for no reason.
preference: over ear > in ear > on ear
location: germany, use "geizhals.de" if u want to look for prices.
ideally something around 100€ or less. but unless the whole package is miles better, preferably wouldnt wanna pay twice the price for 1 or 2 things that probably arent even the wanted core features, but im happy to see multiple choices and evaluate 😊
thanks for any help 🙂
after watching some reviews, the Edifier W820NB Plus or W830NB seem like a great choice
sugar ⚡ shock 💥
anyone know any good headphones to pair with my komplete audio 1? (for a lil bit of gaming, a LOT of spotify, and some bass guitar playing)
budget is anything £65 and under
$86.23 for all of yall americans out there
but for what kinds of games and music genres
what
all i can give as an example is gta fortnite for games and for music rock (arctic monkeys mainly)
I found this looking through my dads stuff, is it any good?
plug it in, see if you like it.
reviews and enthusiasts can tell you what the average person likes, but if you already got it at home, you are the only person that decides what sounds good and what doesnt 😊
if you dont have decent dedicated speakers probably
How can i though, they are meant for cars
well if u dont have a way of using them thats a different question
i really dont sadly
i'd want to use it, my dad doesnt let me though
just wanted to test it
xD
i cant though can i then?
you plug them into an amplifier
and your pc to the amplifier
but yeah you would probably be better off saving 300$ for some decent studio monitors over those anyways
maybe even 110$ edifiers
doubt they were anything outstanding
got an amp
but how will i give the amp power?
plug it into a socket ?
like the wall plug?
the sockets you plug appliances in your home to?
does it not have a plug?
Just purchased the Corsair HS80's. They sounds pretty great TBH. Anyone else use these any issues or tweaks you have for them?
These are the first dual-mono headphones I've seen
I guess audiometric is the right term
probably been asked a million times but, can anyone recommend a good mic/headset combo? I don't really have the space for a stand alone headset/mic. I suppose I could as long as the mic doesn't require a boom arm. I'm also open to IEMS if anyone knows of anything good. I've always just had a gaming headset as a one shop stop solution for gaming.
I guess I could also use my Pixel buds since i have BT now lol
balanced
most headphones with swappable cable you can use balanced with
its a matter of cable and amplifier
no sense in using balanced with a bridged amp which is like 99% of amps
I'm used to seeing a single 4.4 rather than two 6.35s
The set that got me into audio. Still one of the best gaming headphones for fps.
are those headphones
they appear to be
Ad700 were the original with velvet ear pads
So comfy
yeah x are the ones that came after
ath's every 150$> headphones are inferior comfy
im intrigued by the metal headband pieces though
nice to see something not plastic
im glad susvara allowed for you to see where you belong
i have dt 1990
truthear zero red 🗣️
good to know that that is a headphone
it certainly has a value associated to it
Its a car amp?
bruh
Yeahh
get a stereo amp
?
Do car amps not amp
🔥
I connected it to this ,,boombox"
lmao
hard to plug into something
dual mono... doesn't that make that stereo?
like, a single channel is mono
two mono channels with left and right bias turns it into stereo
i guess thats probably referring to the cable which is two mono tr cables
yeah, that's what balanced is
each channel gets its own ground
also it's TS cable not TR
typo
how many servers did you post this in
only as long as the left and right channels contain different information
I literally said that
lol
also not that it contain different information
because dual TS isn't a digital signal, it doesn't carry "information" but rather "signal" or "waves"
you can say that for every headphone
doesnt make them mono
prolly the wrong place to ask ,... but someone might know so 🙂 im looking for a VST: a linear EQ , but as simple as possible (small footprint) only requirement is that it can set the buffer size in samples (the low ranges (4-8)-16-32-64, and has a control for frq and for hi pass / lo pass , and Q (fine grained) , no gui but native controls would be nice , the closest thing i found is Filtrate x64 wich is actually a bit on the heavy side (and way overkill), im currently in the process of setting up Visual Studio with JUICE but never programmed a vst before , and never did C on windows either so ... if anyoine knows one or has experience with creating one thanx 🙂
or every ear has its own seperate ground connection, in terms of mixing it would mean that you cont create a mid channel by playing the full spectrum trough every speaker (like for disco's and big parties so everybody can hear the whole song and not the left side the guitar and the right side the bass 🙂
if it is the first btw , if they twist the source wire and the ground wire they cancel eachother out in terms of interfernce( like in a twisted utp pair) and the result is less environmental pickup, if you use a single wire for the ground it carries the combined singnals to ground wich does not result in cancelling out either one of the other and thus has less protection agains environmental pickup 🙂
what will you run the vst on?
both windows and wine , mostly ableton 12 but possibly also flstudio as i use one as a vst in the other 🙂
so through a daw
yeah
i dont think you can get what you want in 1 vst honestly
but overall it sounds like you could make use of reaper vsts
this is a bit overkill already so :
i liked their demo version better (but its 32bit only)
yeah its that im making a 100% transparent 5 bandsplitter , so thats 10, and then 10 again for the sidechannels , for each trak i use that bandsplitter on 🙂 hence why i want its foot print to be low.
ah
the gui in part , as moving a slider also changes the graph and what not and its not the most responsive , when using that much and there is a bug in it that wen you turn on a filter using midi you have a 50% chance of it not working (the light turns on but the filter does not engage)
this is what the demo(32bit) version of that was :
maybe running this with an adapter vst could have a smaller overall footprint than just the x64
yeah i have jbridge somewhere but that would not be a setup id trust for anything other than testing as if you want to load the same track again couple years later and you are now relying on both the daw, being mostly the same the vst still working on windows and the jbridge ting still being availeble 🙂
gues i i can figure out how you create a vst3 using JUICE , the mathematics i can do for the filter eg but i have no idea how to set up a windows dev environment lol
these aren't linear eq's
though I would be curious to see if there are linear eq vst's with adjustable frequency
wtf
do not plug this into your audio interface as mentioned
the outputs on the rear of an audio interface are DAC outputs, outputting balanced alongside a ground, all 3 of those wires are active
you will instantly overcurrent the audio interface and probably destroy those ports
dont put a ts into a trs out?
they are exclusively designed for a 40Kohm load, the input stage of an op amp in an active speaker
