but i think about 28 hz it becomes hard to feel anymore, at least testing with my 7hz zero;2
it might be my eq but my headphone setup can go down to like 2 hz and have that still be audible
but like uh high frequencies i understand its just a moving air fast but its barely moving the air kinda
but like for bass it moves a lotta air and if you move enough then it makes enough of a noise or feeling or whatever to be perceivable and uh i dunno if you setup everything in a manner then low frequencies very much become noticeable
not that every song uses them but its still nice to have
also how do i eq better on an android ive tried two apps and theyre both still restrictive and they only go down to like 60/30hz and its evil
i hear up to like 19k iirc, havent tested that again recently because i hate the sound
poweramp eq is the best one out there
but it has paid features
wavelet is the free one
and chief like
30hz is low enough
what is your issue with it
yeah wavelet was one i didnt ike
are you hearing it through y our ear or just feeling the movement on your eardrum?
30 is low enough i forgot to mention too though that uh i cant take down all the other frequencies enough though and the ui is shitty too
and how loud di you have it
you literally cant hear 2hz
your headphones can absolutely not go to 2hz
well you can sense it and its still air moving
yes
i can tell the driver is moving at 2 hz and it generates a sensation
ok that confirms what i was guessing
you can sense it when you overblow its volume disproportionally
like
you absolutely cant hear it at normal volumes
you can hear it at volumes where it shakes shit around including you
i am using headphones
on a speaker setup id fight to hit that
thats can produce 2hz
it would be funny though
you cannot hit it
it destroys your house
you can move some air at 2hz
2hz is a bad example but like 10 for sure
probably
i gotta test that next time im home
idk if i would call it hearing because arent you just feeling the movement at that point
the volume at which you perceive 2hz is when its at a point where it can break things
yeah but i think it counts
hmm
afaik at least
you cannot produce 20hz with most amplifiers or dacs out there
and you also need an infrasub for it which I don't think anyone sells so you have to custom order or make one
i dunno frequencies are evil but if i go on the szynalski website and run it down from 40hz and down i can perceive it the whole way through
difference between 40hz and 10hz is a lot
yeah
difference between 18000hz and 19000hz is way less
how loud did you make it to perceive that 💀
although at 1 hz i do more hear just static that kinda goes with 1hz
oh
the lowest an average person can hear is 20hz
isnt that just distortion youre hearing then
maybe slightly below
well its static from my amp i usually run it on higher volume settings so it does that
the driver is moving though
i think youre probably just hearing distortion rather than the actual 2 hz signal
at 4 hz is when i start to hear driver noise of some form
if you could hear it im pretty sure it should just sound like pure sub
there are harmonics
there are reasons why a headphone driver would move on a frequency it cant produce
when you give it power
not normally
i mean it can technically produce it
likely not 4hz
is it producing the 2hz signal or just the harmonic distortions in the presence of a 2hz input
also a 15hz signal definitely does like an amount
theres still some driver noise but the pressure is definitely there doing its uh stuff
wdym
i think i consider that different
feeling the pressure vs actually hearing the sub noise
might just be distorting the driver trying to produce that frequency
i dunno i get the feeling of two drivers and them going at 15hz on my head
provided your amplifier and dac isn't rated for 15hz
as literally almost no consumer amps and dacs are rated for it
i dunno i havent checked my amp specs i dont think
this is the alleged spec
grr my dac says its 20hz to 20khz but then its +/- 0.1db
and then my headphones say 5hz to 30khz but grr they dont have a +/- rating
it says it can respond to 5hz
not at which volume
it is a little evil uh they dont have any +/- ratings anywhere but also the freq response graph is pretty not flat
also volume is a fair point
i dunno though they do good still and they are probably getting more volume than normal with eq and stuff
Susvara was a mistake
its a horrible headphone
the distortion around 1.2kHz and 7kHz is actually painful
what model did you get
grey works different
oh wait susvara is a model for some reason when i looked it up i got a bunch of unrelated junk
yeah why is that frequency response so noisy
normally i dont wanna look at graphs but like
woah its $6000??
maybe thats not the thing thats being heard idk
its a good headphone
its just that grey is the antichrist of audio
he buys mediocre 150$ cans and tries to eq them for 200 hours while putting his 3k ones aside
he has swapped his opinion about the specific headphone like
at least 20 times
one week he praises it
other week calls it shit
other week he finds another eq profile and worships it
then calls it shit again
sharur made a video dissing sonic getaway and 90% of the video's contents were grey having bipolar disorder
is sharur grey ?
ALRIGHT NOW WE'RE AT WAR
/s
it seems like this sharur guy also changes opinions a lot
It's really not. Everyone I've known who's bought it has had problems with it
ok and everyone I know that has it likes it
aside from grey
if its anything remotely similar to he1000 then id also love it
Fundamentally I would love $3000 more.
susvara goes for 3k now?
I got it for 3.5k basically new
I am selling Susvara and getting he1000 unveiled
Which I actually spent 30 mins in the showroom with. Instead of 3 minutes.
The longer you spend with a headphone, the less biased you become over time towards it.
Well unless you get brainwashed, like hd800s owners
my first impressions of the mc450 were kinda bad
took at least an hour to get a feel for it
and eq showed a lot
at this point I can enjoy them a lot even without eq
Smh my head grey. You just haven't paired it with the right amp
Yeahhhh right
Any thoughts on these? https://www.amazon.com/EarFun-Headphones-Multipoint-Connection-Waterproof/dp/B0DRCH8GLP
Hmm at the moment these are the 2 on my list
how are fiio ft1’s standing now?
i thimk he’s trolling
who? grey or sharur
both
sharur is ragebaiting audio people and gray is trolling sharur
or who knows how it is really, maybe sharur is misinterpreting sarcasm
oh
then why does sharur respond to him so often
or why grey changes his takes
well, anyways how’s the ft1 rn is it still good aside from that screw issue? (for the price)
Grey is the real deal.
The Earfun Open Jump currently have a 20% discount going on with them as well so that makes the split between them even wider
I think linis wold track me down and kill me if I showed my speekers
welp
Linus is not an audio snob. Please do not lump him in with us.
wym
as always depends on use cases, content being played, preferences
is it of any relevance? I guess
for average user that wants closed back headphones under $150 or $200
there's no average preference
no do not quote the harman study
personally they are not my thing, and common reviews rave about them baselessly since they aren't usually compared to other headphones, especially in a non-tone front
they aren't resolving enough, don't pick up enough quiet details, and don't image clearly enough to be a serious competitor amongst competitive fps headphones
it feels like the bass is only authoritative because of it's tone, and honestly isn't as textured or tight as it's touted to be
they don't have the dynamics needed for mixing work to be done well through them
in conclusion I'd pay maybe $110
they do have some airyness similar to dt770, and a touch of soundstage
Bro I got like 20 speakers behind my monitor
Congratulations
reccs for budget gaming headphones/earphones with mic?
where is this video btw, DM it to me
I don't change my takes after having owned something for 3 weeks
nah its real
the video was about 400se I think
oh lmao
yeah I went straight into EQ with that headphone
400se is a beginner bait headphone tho, you gotta agree on that one
idk why the heck im still wearing susvara while the midrange is genuenly fatuiging to listen to
i wouldn't ask more for 100$
Klaus, you gotta try the fiio ft1 pro btw
i dont think there is anywhere I can demo it
I tried it on the chain that I daily my he1000 stealth on
I kinda felt dumb getting he1000 stealth for 1600
because it was so close
like which planar even has a bass lift like this
except OG he1000
maybe I should just sell it all and get ft1 pro tbh
At lthis point I will likely picup the cheaper discounted set as I have other things I need to purchase as well
any that I take 4 seconds to eq
why one of these two
I swear this guy is an operator for these no name ali imported tws resellers
Found one as a recommendation on reddit for starters
Or at least a different much older no longer for sale model from the same oem
Other set was listed on cnet for under $100 lol but yeah was actually not for less than $100
@warm scarab
i mean the first mistake was consulting reddit
I had a set that is no longer for sale. They stopped charging so I need a replacement open ear set and yeah not been able to find any lists for open back just standard linear tws earbuds like Sony Samsung or Apple
So yeah unless you have some actual recommendations or know where I can find some actual info about open ear buds and not just the standard ones
I kinda have to rely on what I can find
open ear buds?
Yeah
Need to be able to hear the world around me when I am out walking the streets for example
Buds without the tips that go in the ears
so earbuds
the silicone tip ones are called iems
yeah idk why you would want earbuds
use transparency mode if you want, get bone conduction stuff if you really need it
earbuds are a shit technology
Something like these
No in ear design they hook on your ears instead
https://a.co/d/7gcqXQH set i had before
I don't want a set that go into my ears
Most earbuds have the rubber tips which I do NOT want
those are called iems
as far as using the correct terminology goes
and the ones without tips are called straight up earbuds
most people don't use the correct wording for it but now you know
same goes for headsets and headphones
a headset is a set of headphones with a microphone for example
headphones don't necessarily have a mic
Most earbuds are IEM style then and you have to speciofy open ear if you don't want the rubber tips
AKA 95% of TWS Earbuds for example are rubber tipped and yeah
Which is why that is most of the info out there on google and youtube and thus trying to find info about the other 5% that are "open" is annoying
Which is why I have to specify open earbuds
I don't care for these personally and they are pretty much the "standard" which is the issue
im telling you man
that isn't an earbud
its an iem
because most consumers don't use the term correctly doesn't invalidate its meaning
at least not in circles where people are informed
Tell that to the OEMS who lable these as standard earbuds which is the issue
Hence having to use the term "open" earbuds
Which is why its near impossible to sort through the crap on google and youtube to find info about the small "open" earbuds market isntead of your "standard" earbuds that may or may not have the rubber tips
Which is why I am looking for sub $100 recommendations for "open" earbuds
yeah because every retailer names their products appropriately right
Which is why I am on here looking for recommendations
reccs for budget gaming headphones/earphones with mic?
define budget
$30
Wouldn't that be the hyper X cloud? or is that more exspnesive?
$40
grab cloud 2
Cloud mini an d cloud stinger 2 are going for that much
check how much they cost or you can get them for 2nd hand
i dont advise cloud stinger because of how much worse it is than the cloud 2
its a siginificant downgrade, better off saving 10-20$ more
get it second hand and replace the earpads if you want
https://hyperx.com/collections/gaming-headsets/products/hyperx-cloud-gaming-headset?variant=45937156096157Normal Cloud's are $40 currently
33% off on the website and going for $39.99
oh
thanks
$40 on Amazon as well if you want to go that route https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-A3RL9AA-Cloud-Blue/dp/B0DF9S9JCW
I can't recommend the cloud because I don't know how it performs
there isn't any information on it which recommends its a new headphone
and the fact that its already on a 33% sale is a bad indicator
seriously wtf is this headset
zero info on it online
Pretty sure they were the goto back in the day
AKA mid to late 2010s
MIGHT be called "CLoud Blue" at least that is what Amazon is showing
Unless I am thinking of the "Cloud X" being the goto?
i found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQPP3ciRPVQ
Buy Them Here: https://amzn.to/2MXN9yK
All of you guys know how much I have loved the HyperX Cloud headsets.....now they have one that is officially licensed by Sony for the Playstation 4. AND IT'S BLUE! I know, I am probably the only one excited about the color. So what makes these special to the PS4? Enjoy!
Buy my chair here: https://opseat....
sounds kinda shit
https://youtu.be/i0PQuRbPCiI found this from 5 years ago
Reviewing the HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset. Are they worth $50?

lool
id like actual data instead of some dude who uses dubstep intros to review 30$ headphones
Does mine help?
no
it has zero frequency response graph
the headphone is so cheap no one has bothered to measure it
"i would like it if it had more oomph to it"
yeah very significant info
fr
this is based
dubstep intro to review $30 headphones :gigachad:
the style field on amazon is insightful
i am so confused what i am even looking at
well it has good reviews on bestbuy, but that's people reviewing it as a gaming headset so take it with a grain of salt
it's hyprx cloud for ps4, i think thats the official name
super old
even searching that though i dont get any more info
idk what to get for my next headset, preferably under $200 with good bass, can either be wireless with dongle or wired.
not one of those shitty gaming ones
any help would be appreciated
i would use my airpods but damn, that BT delay is insane
in-ears or over-ears? iems you can often get much better for lower price
that just means the reviews haven't been contaminated yet
we get to hear about people's perceptions, maybe even outside of frequency response
there's like no reviews as well though
mic recommendation under 30usd
they are good i have them
but with time the audio slowly fades
and the wire quality aint that great
something i can use while gaming
its a generic dynamic oem from china or wherever
you just open room for affiliate link scammers for a headphone with practically no chance of being unique
would you be open for IEM's?
if yes, you can get a FiiO JH3 + JCally JM80e dac's + JCally JC16 cable (with MIC)
you'll have extra and have very nice experience
*this is me assuming you are on apple with type c's port
(Maybe JM20Max too but iirc this doesnt have mic support)
fiio ft1 + microphone
Yes I’d actually prefer them
Thanks for the options guys
I’m using for my pc
just got the spinfit w1's and am putting them on my 7hz zero:2
first thought is these are not particularly comfortable either but the MS size may be a bit too big for me
i tried to measure the existing tip with a ruler but maybe it wasnt a perfect comparison
the seal is very strong and gives much more noise isolation
even more than the tips that came with my truthear zero:red
the tips feel kinda sticky which sounds like its intentional but i am not used to it
its really confusing actually
it only isolates the lower pitched sounds
its like transparency mode on airpods pro where it kinda has this weird airiness to the higher pitched components of sounds
does anyone have a wireless headset recommendation for under $150 mostly for gaming
if i am buying a mic
is there anything
i should download or use
to make it better
or use it properly
you can use a noise gate to mitigate noise better than how discord does it
aside from that no
you can always eq it but shouldn't specifically need to
I've been looking to work with multiple analog audio tracks, getting a game, a vc, multiple mics, background music and the sort analogue to mix analogue and also feed back multiple signals for a stream and podcast purpose
What is yalls opinion on a behringer umc1820 for input output to pc
The other thing I was looking at was a soundcraft signature 12 mrk
It depends on what mic you have because a lot of USB mics have their own companion software. Generally, though, you need a noise gate and a compressor, and then an EQ if you don't like how it makes your voice sound.
Looking for replacement pads for my Sundara but shipping costs basically murder any reason I might want to get the Palipads. Any alternatives you guys can recommend that don't change the headphones' characteristics too much?
Soundcore liberty 4 NC are worth buying?
Mostly for workout and just to work and to hear music while working.
On sale right now.
Fifine a6t
there isn't a single click solution to making your mic better
for starters use better mic technique
What's that
Oh
and correct position
I will learn about those
Cause tbh,I have no knowledge about it
software will also take time to understand
It's my first mic,I just used the headset mic till now
so unless you want to sink in real time into understanding how sound works and how you can use the software to make that the way you want it
its better to learn mic technique, and then start learning if you are displeased
Fair enough
there isn't much of a reason for an end user to use software
aside from like, rtx voice
Hmm
the automatic background noise removing program
Is this a software or mic feature?
software
Oo
but keep in mind every algorithm based background noise removing program will negatively impact audio quality
I see
I mean that explains it
There are pros and cons to everything
Anyways
Wrong chat,but how to sleep
._.
I have lecture in 5h but I can't sleep
drink alcohol
I don't drink
too bad
people start drinking at 14 in germany
i mean ok
the only moment you should not drink in is when you are looking to get drunk
its a bad way of thinking to interpret alcohol as a drink that makes you funny
Deep advice
but to think of alcohol as an ingridient like salt
it makes whiskey into whiskey instead of funny grape juice
if you like drinking it for the taste and not for the effects then you wont have a problem drinking anytime
Hmm
It's amazing how small of a distance can make a huge difference to timing
Just putting my subwoofer 5m away makes it sound completely awful and I need to adjust for it in my receiver
from what distance to 5m
Anyone remember the Bose CineMate II home cinema system?
Still using that thing. and plan on using it for a while.
Any idea where to get a replacement remote for it? Can't find it anywhere, my current one is falling apart by the seams.
whats the difference between cloud 2 wireless and cloud 2 core wireless? Like what does the core stand for
Equal rights
im hoping the new 150 euro cable I got will make me like Susvara
let me measure the impedance of the stock cable just for fun
0.4 ohms
wth, my 250 ohms dt880 is 238 ohms in reality
he1000 stealth is 27 ohms
hmmm maybe my multimeter is just off
actually, impedance is not the same as resistance
You're measuring the DC resistance
But also
Planars don't care about impedance all that much
I still have that one
Throw it in the trash
^^
For those wondering if ended up buying the Shokz OpenFit Airs
Oh no not those ones!
I heard mossad put explosives in those
Whats wrong with them?
I use them at work, so I'm just joking. Sound okay but they just have weird design choices
I agree the repairing is out of the norm from what I am use to
Beyond that they seem fine to me so far
I've had issues with the pogo pins getting dirty and not shutting off the headphones when they're in their case
The capacitive touch buttons are too sensitive and make the headphones unusable with damp long hair
I have a little brush I can use to clean those every now and then just like my previous earbuds
And you lose access to half your controls if you only put in one headphone at a time.
Like these are just design problems.
Nitpicks.
Meh I tend to juse use my phone/pc/tablet for controls with earbuds
not before I have the replacement lol
I use them while I have gloves on in the lab so it is a problem for me.
man, DT880 is nice, when you listen to music mastered on it
you listen to the song first on susvara, then wonder why its shit, then you listen on dt880, then its perfect
I live in Florida and don't wear gloves so I am good there lol
More power to you
Alexa, why does a good song sound like shit on my $3000 headphones?
You're so right bestie 💞✨
because the source chain doesn't cost 10k obviously
must not be powering it properly

How many watts is your amp
Do you use a DAC/AMP with those $3k headphones?
3W into 60 ohms
Yeah you need at least 4 watts into 60 ohms to properly power a susvara.
How many watts did that one have?
I probably should have asked what AMP/DAC do you use with thsoe $3k headphones?
Obviously you needed at least 8 watts to properly power the susvara
DACs unironically changed the sound of the Susvara more than amps
from what I tried
maybe my amp is already good enough
I assume the Susvara is an older set? Because I am just seeing a $6k+ tag on them
no you need 3kw into a short
Anything less and you're just soft clipping
Nah that's them. The margins are huge so dealers can sometimes be talked down to a lower price
I got them second hand brand new
some guy with way too much money bought them while on some meds
put them in his closet and forgot about them
Fair enough
then he flipped them online
Bought them then just left them sitting around and then went oh yeah I can get money back for these
I love my he1000 stealth so much, the instruments pop so well on them
You know if you can afford paying sticker price for susvara you probably won't miss a few grand
Susvara is so boring to listen to in comparison
I have I think at least $2k in closet headphones right now.
Grey wanna buy my akg k1000
nah
Coward
Can you believe the he1000 has been veiled this entire time
I have a set of Audio Technica ATH-m50x that I bought back in like 2013/2014
unveiling probably didn't do jack shit
but he1000 unveiled is the widest sound staging headphone
period
or at least from the list of headphones I have heard
out of the 80+ headphones
I have a list
I do genuinely think that the low acoustic impedance of the back of the cup is what a lot of people credit to good soundstage.
its weird that the headphone is less bright than a lot of the other he1000 series, yet stages wider
Also my FiiO E18 does help to open the soundstage on my ATH-m50x's a tad which is nice
I tried DT990 on my Violectric V222
with heavy EQ
it was not even bad
the amount of bass it can produce is crazy, on a good amp
on the Susvara, symbols are not enhanced with brighter treble to pop out
its very smooth
you are just raw dogging the song
like, you actually hear when things are shit because you are not distracted by loud symbols
I have never heard anything near that highend LOL
The best I have heard is my ATH-m50xs honestly LOL
if you ever wanna upgrade, look into Fiio FT1 Pro, just 200 euros
I can also tell you right now that my ears are far from the best as I am missing about 30% in my left ear and my high freqs have dropped some as well
they go toe to toe with some 1000 euro headphones
Maybe I will take a look once something actually happens to these headphones
There is no more Pleather on the headband on these for example LOL
I already convinced my friend to buy them
im awaiting his impressions when he gets it in a few weeks
I am glad I can easily find replacement earpads for these popular headphones
That is all the pleather left
I do need to replace my FiiO E18 tho as it is pretty much shot and the battery is dead and it litterally needs major fiddling with to even get it working via USB
holy
They are at least 10+ years old at this point LOL
But they are well worn as can be seen
my 10 year old beyerdynamics are still in good condition
Its just the pleather ont he headband that is shot lol
That stuff never lasts long around me for some reason even on funiture like chairs it starts peeling after a couple of years
that is what pleather does
or at least, I don't know a single m50x owner who had it for more than 2 years without it starting to disintegrate
Which is partly why I prefer Mesh chairs
mesh is more breathable too
Yeah there is a BOOMING headband market for the M50X's LOL
In the south you sort of require breathable lol
I have a set of standard earbuds now
nice
magnet
@lean grove susvara has its polarity reversed
lol
Sharur let me demo a few songs blind and I discovered it through him
He had golden measure his susvara, apparently his susvara was also reversed
it sounds so much better now
A buddy went to a hifiman booth at canjam and their display susvara had that too
Six thousand dollars MSRP
Anyone know of a plugin for proper bluetooth controls for Winamp? That has always been the lacking feature for me with the software after all these years
like one ear is reverse of the other????!?
both
Ok I just ended up installing WACUP 32bit so I can use a few plugins that are MIA from Winamp such as opus support and the ability to start off where the music was when the program closed
I did have to disable a setting in the menu tho to get it working
https://getwacup.com/ I am going to assume its based on the "open source" code they put out for winamp
It also looks like they tried to wipe the code from github after a few months likely becuase of the issues they kept finding themselves in such as the adobe stuff another don't even get my started on the "license" they tried to bloody use for it
Now that I look those MIGHT be part of the new app to begin with lol
grr i hate being amp limited,,
when my vu meters get maxxed out i get distortion and its evil but i cant afford a better amp with vu meters
but grr more power would be so cool,,
just add vu meters to an amp
Came with a new nest for your birds too
yeah but theyre expensive or something and also they wont look as nice too
BUT i think im just gonna save and get some crazy shit like a mcintosh or somethin i dunno and then ill live happily ever after :3
I meant like, add one as a separate unit
grab some wood, grab some speaker taps and vu meters
wire them up and put them together into a small chasis
and you have a vu meter unit
vu meters are typically known to add distortion though, they look nice but cant say they work well
you could build something like this to prevent the distortion apparently
Amps get bigger and bigger with more wattage but how do loudspeakers handle all that? And, the Audiophile's Guide Series is finally ready! https://www.theaudiophilesguide.com/
okay so i have like a budget equivalent of
~$520 dollars
also known as 2000 polish coins
i really want to get a good audio equipment (headphones + speakers + subwoofer) for music production
but the budget's pretty limited
i don't except to get studio quality stuff but having something that would work in the long run would be great
The budget is tight but doable. JBL lsr305mkii would be good to get. That might be most of your budget, in the US they're around $300 a pair but since you're in the EU you might be able to find a good deal. Thomann has good deals sometimes.
You might also be able to find a pair of Sennheiser hd6xx/hd600/hd650 on the used market
Dt880 are also worth looking at. Will probably be cheaper than the Sennheisers
you can get studio quality honestly
if you want speakers it will be more about your room and calibration
if you want headphones you don't really need something insane
jbl 305 like nils said is a good option for mixing but it boils down to the room
I would not recommend any soul to buy a 6** headphone for mixing that is an atrocious idea
what's 6**
lmao
no
openbacks are not an accurate representation of what 99% of the listeners will hear
terrible option for mixing
yeah
not to mention hd650 isn't that neutral to begin with
issues with treble and sub bass
Klaus just straight up spitting misinformation
sub bass issue isn't a big deal
but its not something id advise over akg k361 as far as mixing goes
its treble is very wacky as far as neutral headphones go
it doesn't sound bad but it doesn't mean there aren't headphones which do that job better
namely akg k361
and k371
better for monitoring overall
things I'd need is
and they are closed back
line out for speakers
361/371 probably will fit in the budget better
And yeah closed backs have the benefit of isolation.
So aside from Klaus being stupid and wrong I agree
oh ok
I changed my opinion on the subject actually
since nils agrees with me it cant be true
you should buy a 400$ dac
I'd also would get a turntable for records etc
why
honestly don't
expensive hobby
listen
Turntable goes to line-in on PC.
look
And pass it through to the speakers
im not opposed to turntables as a hobby
but if you go in with a budget that is low
you will just hurt yourself
and your records
sure
id say you will be well set with a stylus that is 200-300$
the turntable itself doesn't really matter
as long as it has a switchable cartridge
and has a phono preamp built in
otherwise you'll need to get a phono preamp
and if it has an adjustable counterweight
under those conditions any turntable you think looks nice will do
oh yea
a lot of the cheaper ones have them
tbh now i see i'm
rather uninformed
like a lot
if you want to grug it out and get something that works you can do that but like
about time to learn tho, in order to get better
turntables can get very deep if you want them to
there are different arm masses
different cartridges that can host different styluses
styluses that are different in engineering
ignoring the turntable aspect for now, do i really need an amp? for the headphones and speakers
your speakers are actives so they have an amp inside of them
and I don't think you are at a point where you'd need an amp for headphones
note, i have like the cheapest h410 asrock motherboard
Noise might be an issue but that can be fixed with a $20 dongle
what nils said
Oh dear
this is a good stand in for an amp/dac
you can get some good improvements from an amplifier but it would be very stupid to invest into one while your headphones are like 200$ max
even then it offers minor benefits compared to buying a better headphone provided you have a headphone that straight up works really poorly with your current amplifier's lack of power
i dont know if its good or not but you can buy the dongle above
or get an apple usb c to 3.5 adapter
costs 9$
ain't it lucky that the dongle comes with the adapter
God's plan
Does anybody have some good IEMs for gaming?
surround sound preferred ;)
budget is around 60-80 EUROS!!
i was thinking about the truthear x crinacle zero: red
@lean grove literally all my problems with susvara are gone now that I fixed the polarity lol
I resoldered my dac/amp interconnect to have inverted polarity
double invert = normal
Because his $6000 MSRP headphones arrived broken
yeah but it looked like inverting both ears lmao
because inverting both ears wouldnt do anything
why the fuck does polarity matter
there is so much research out there that says people are literally unable to tell polarity without comparing it back and forth
its only detectable if one ear is inverse the other
Wake up Truthear Blue 2 dropped
same price as the reds
but has smaller nozzle
and more bass but also a bigger bass tuck
No both sides are inverted
I could literally tell every single time consistently with a blind test
I sent a blind test into a server and literally everyone got it right
probably something else interfering causing it to be different
What does it even mean to be inverted, how's that a reference frame, who says its not 70 degrees shifted for example
What if the recording is inverted
I had two audio samples. One normal, the other inverted. Nothing else different.
I'm talking about an absolute phase inversion
i think your test is flawed
I think Dumbo found his magic feather
phase inversion (he swapped l/r)
let me check them rq 🙏
Hmm, seems nice!
but like. can somebody tell me what are the best IEMs for gaming, like, surround sound etc!
I thought it was just one channel. If both sides are in-phase it won't matter.
absolute polarity is audible
this has been proven with 99.9% confidence in blind testing
zomg new crinphones
i might cop them because i haven’t bought anything audio related in a long time and im bored
my last audio purchase was my novas back in november 2023
I'm looking for some advice
I'm thinking about buying a set of bone-conducting earphones, but I'm not sure which, or if they're a good fit for me.
I lean a lot towards bass-heavy music (techno, metal,...). I also like to swim, so if there are watertight variants out there, that's a big plus. I'm mainly looking for them because they don't hinder my awareness when running in the city's center or biking and such
If you want bass, you're kinda outta luck. Bone conduction and even the open-air earphones don't do bass all that well.
You can probably find a nearby store and see if they have any display models. Bestbuy has them sometimes.
you're not gonna get much bass because there's not a seal but I've heard great things about https://shokz.com/pages/openrun
I'm Belgian so no bestbuys around 😅
I haven't found any display models anywhere else
Rip. Well, I would recommend you take a look at the koss ksc75.
It is very open so you can be very aware of your surroundings, but not very waterproof. It costs a fraction of what the decent bone conduction headphones cost while sounding better.
It's wired as well, but if you can make it work and tuck the wire into your shirt and use a headphone adapter it's genuinely a really good option.
Otherwise I use shokz openfits
They're probably one of the better brands to buy something from. So just see what they have that fits your needs.
these are my recommendations to basically everyone. they're not uber expensive but sound really decent and are completely waterproof.
then again i haven't used a pair in a few years so maybe they changed something, you never know
this is not financial advice
@unique wind
@steel escarp
go use an actual test
actual clowns
you can obviously tell inverse polarity in ABX tests because the phase is literally unmatching
the correct way to judge these is to start from the beginning of each track
of start listening from points that are not where you actively left off
i will not debate this with you because it's already been proven to be audible with 99.9% confidence and it's a dumb argument
"proven"
very easily fixable and wouldnt stop me from buying a headphone
lol & lmao
you can just flip it in software
phase mismatching caused by back and forth swapping in abx is unrelated to phase inversion
its literally a regular sound engineering challenge that happens when you stitch together any 2 sounds
klaus you want the truthear x crinacle zero 2 blues so bad
i dont want to spend money on headphones anymore
i have decided being an audiophile is a worthless hobby unless you have like a 1000$ disposable budget each month
🫵😹 poor
lul
the audiophile purchase rabbithole is definitely cancer
specifically with source gear, and companies releasing 9 million headphones that are barely different from one another
spending money shouldnt be a hobby
this
i just got into audio to find gear that doesnt suck
if it was diy shit or building a room for speakers
tell that to literally every hobby
Klaus forgot that youre supposed to be listening to music you enjoy
this. this. this. this.
i think you just have a really bad interpretation of hobbies
Not sine sweeps and abx tests
twas a joke
what is enjoying

the difference is that there is no audible difference between source gear that is good enough, so youre quite literally just spending money for no reason
yep. point of diminishing returns.
I disagree with michael and even then I think being an audiophile is a shit hobby

Written, Recorded, Produced, and Mixed by Blake Rouse
Fiddle by Zach Bunton
Mastered by John Osborn
real
ive been content with my truthear iems and airpods pro 2 for a while and i just listen to music
i stopped thinking about graphs
for me being an audiophile is just listening to music that i love for every miniscule detail in the mix that I can pick out and discover when listening from different sources
the best thing to do is to stop watching audio youtubers tbh
THIS
that goes for most hobbies
ye
you can get that from 150$ into the hobby
its barely scratching the surface
watch audio youtubers -> want to spend money on audio
right. but then you watch a video and spend a shit ton
well yeah because your laziness outweighs your interest
did you rip the boulders off the wall with your mass
i don't spend money on audio gear because i think it will make me cooler or more of an audiphile. i do it because i want to experience listening through a new lens, per say
I am pretty light
no, you do it with your ass
i picture you looking like zeos in my head
it was really fun to solve a lot of problems because of having a stupidly good ability of self lifting
perhaps with longer hair
i literally did pull ups on most places and it lead me up to v5
then I had to get actually intelligent
lmao
nah i got pretty good genetics when it comes to weight
anyway yeah im probly gonna cop the new crinphones because i havent made an audio purchase since 2023 and im bored
real. i bought some K712s a few months ago so i'm good for a few more months haha
where did you find out about the k712
oh
i knew about AKG before tho
just not specifically the k712
i had a pair of k240s at one point
i'm also eyeing some austrian audio stuff

how are the $30 TWS serving you?
great for the price?
there is this lack of punch in this bass im not sure how to describe and it falls off after like what 17khz
those aside its great
oh yeah i frogot i was actually in here to ask a question. i'm in need of some IEMs for my DJ gigs and was wondering what y'all have experience with/recommend?
this amber case option for them is sexy
i modded the sbc codec with some virus i found on the internet to get it to go up to 19khz
no idea how it works
that looks like bourbon and i'm here for it
🙏
how the hell
ive no idea apparently there is some root file in android you can modify to change the samplerate of sbc
you need your phone to be rooted for it to work so
oh damn
no more warranty
Does anybody have surround sound iems (for gaming) I should get? (Under 80 bucks)
Please @ me or mention me when you have an answer!
https://youtu.be/_bV1sfQQkZY? carrot.
In this video I’m trying out an audio hack I found on Reddit and answer the age-old question if you can use a carrot as a makeshift audio adapter.

this doesnt exist
i love these
it basically doesn't matter - any decent pair of iems will do for gaming
did anyone see the new truthear x crinacle zero blue:2
what a mouthful
i wonder if its any good
i love the reds' openness but the bass is sometimes a tiny bit low
its basically harman ie
let me look it up
its already on graph.hangout.audio, nice
i should not just look at the graph but its all i have
cant find really any reviews
guess thats why i saw no reviews searching last night
can someone help me pick out a headset. Rn I have the arctis one steelseries and my mic is f cked up. Do I buy a new mic or just buy. a new headset. Budget is £70 from curry (I got a voucher)
What sound bar with sub would y'all recommend for around $200ish
it seemed genius for a moment, but he was only using rca which ruined it
there is a greater frontier
consider the following:
are you looking for precise direction of sounds, strong/obvious general direction of sounds, or just spaciousness
Hello everyone I have an amplifier SANSUI AU-X501 1987-90 made in Japan fully working I have it for two years now I never use it worth anything???
Direction of sounds and quality,
Earhook is preferred lmao
Was thinking about the blue 2s
that doesn't really answer either of these
for example, the difference between precise directions of sound vs strong/obvious directions of sound will make the truthear zero red a strong contender or a strong avoid
and if the zero blue 2 is similar to the zero red...
quality is also a very nondescriptive and subjective term
build quality is less subjective
resolution and instrument separation quality
timbre quality
simple criteria determine if you will find a headphone worth $5 or $500 with the sound you hear
has anyone had the TOZO T20 earbuds?
I tried every way to reset them but they will not
nothing happens the user manual doesnt help
they were like the #1 best selling on amazon
zero blue 2 isnt similar to zero red, its harman ie or basshead
Found the graph of my he6 clone/refurb/recreation thing next to original
gotta plug it correctly otherwise it’s not hi-fi!
the noise isolation the spinfit w1 give me is weird, it has the same sort of sound profile as my airpods pro 2 with noise cancelling, just without the static noise
finally got my 2.1 dialed in
sounds pretty good for 1100 usd all in
i might upgrade to in5's
that specific detail of bass extension sounds typical
My current subwoofer doesn't even come close to that, but it was also a fraction of the price of that one new
iem wise there is no actual iem made for gaming except if you consider razer moray "gaming" lol. although if you want accurate technicalities to help with footsteps/game details and etc, there might be some
at this point just find any iem's with great soundstage and separation and it'll game more than fine
yeah i am pretty sure an iem with good imaging would be much better than anything gaming-marketed even for gaming exclusively
any idea why valorant messes up my audio and reduces the audio like %70 when i enter a game
that doesn't change anything
hm that's a pretty big impedance change though
when are they going to start overloading apple dongles or cx31993
was told to come here about this
got a very specific question but does anyone know a company that makes a really high quality 3mm male to male cable length ~1-1.5m
the plugs need to be able to withstand a lot of repeated bending force without losing connection/signal
i think z reviews has some super fancy cable company that makes super fancy cables and they look really fancy but theyre also super expensive but maybe they fit your needs
It's pretty close to the reds with a bit more subbass and more bass tuck which I'd argue is actually worse for bassheads
any decent 3.5mm will survive repeated plugs and unplugs granted you're not abusing it like hanging weight on the conenctor
its not unplugs and replugs. and basically i need it to withstand hanging weight on the connector
not exactly but same kind of strain
3.5mm durability is basically the same across the board
its not the connector its the housing thats broken every time ive used a cable before
the plug wiggles backwards and forwards in its housing and widens it out until it becomes loose and the cable signal becomes worse and worse
show a picture?
tf
that is some legendary misfortune ive had that happen like once
and it was on some shit ass adapter like maybe 10 years back
its happened within a few weeks for me every time with cables from wide range of places
You gotta show what you mean chief
I find that incredibly difficult to believe
I've broken 3.5mm at the poles but never the housing
This is my current cable in the process of breaking. That small black gap between the housing and jack causes it to become loose and connection becomes increasingly worse and have to tape the cable Into 1 orientation just to get full audio signal
hmm the essentially requirement to use the foam tips sounds like almost a dealbreaker on its own to me
what the actual balls
these are my main 3 plugs that I've been using for between 2-4 years now
tbf those are some fancy cables bro
all of them are thicker because the connectors have housings that are first filled with some sort of epoxy to hold the cables in place then screwed on
not really
def when compared to this
the right angle one I soldered, the left on in my finger is my stock k361 cable that I plug into this
(that adapter feels super nice tho)
and the one with purple cable is my xinhs cable and costed me... 10 bucks at the time..
its all aliexpress bits
anyone could "core" a cable if they know how to weave hair
damn im gonna buy myself some of them thangs then
99% of amazon cables are ali bits assembled
its a self scam to buy cables
provided you dont need just 1
like this is like 6 CAD for 4 plugs that'll last for sure
I buy aliexpress cables like openheart and xinhs just cause they have a better parts selection at the same price for myself to build it
RIP
i asked them specifically why
they said its a mistake and they will fix it
i messaged them like 5 times after thst
they ghosted me
tbh
if you buy like 10 cables worth of components
you are in green
provided you need 10 cables
Ya I have one of these coming in a bit and I wouldn't want to build it myself for a oneoff
valid
K yeah if you need like 10 cables then buying bulk will definitely make it cheaper
especially since its an iem cable
provided you arent a weird guy with 10 iems
those people should actually be in prison
you gotta buy nordost cables bro, they'll totally make your iems sound better bro, make sure to spend at least $5000
this is how grey does it
I have... 4 with another one coming
but I give all the ones I don't want to others
ie. all but one of my 20 dollar iems
why do you do this
