I got pair of beyerdynamic 700 pro x's which were like new off amazon warehouse but I had like 14 gbp in my amazon account off a gift card so I got them for 164 gbp which is slightly cheaper than pair of 770 pro x's new
This isn’t recommended right?

both radios are jvc
this amp says it pushes out 1100 watts dont buy unless you want 400 watts its a 12v 30amp amp witch 12x30=360 and the amp dino i watched it maxed out at 413 watts at its peak performance
head unit is 50 watts with 4 channels
How about the steel series atris nova 7X
It’s the same
Would you recommend them
I’ve seen a decent amount of good reviews for them
its ok
I don't think you can find much more in the gaming space
as far as wireless goes at least
maxwell aside
Idk but 250 expensive asf

could someone help me with my cheap ahh headphones?
whats the problem
try going to your recording tab in sound settings choose your mic and open properties and the open listen tab and uncheck the listen to this device option
forgot to mention all the other settings are in the recording tab
in sound settings
lmk if it works
this on windows 10?
yea
i might be dumb idk
i might have just put you in the wrong settings ima see if i can find any other options i have done the same thing before and now that im lookin at the settings the shit aint there
wthhhh
my fault
wait ill put the language on english
i found it go to change system sounds click on recording right click on your mic hit properties and the click on listen then the option should be there i sent you the wrong shit on accident must have been thinking about sum else lol
the change system sounds should be acseable threw regular settings
what am i suposted to do now
thats it try toggling it and then untogling it
doing what??
sorry english not my 1st language
its fine i understand check the box then un check it it should fix it hopefully it not helping that i have terable spelling lol
I CANT EVEN TEST IT RN
like my internet decided to stop working
yeah its not working
my bad maybe someone else can fix it im not that great at it ima see if anybody knows anything
it could be the headphones but its most likley not the headphones
you could also try another mic or wo mic witch you connect you phone to you pc using the wo mic app
its a headset...
i know thats just some alternatives if you cant fix the headset mic problem
i already have 15 inch pa speakers but i think i need some pa subwoofers now
ill have to look at cashies
id go for car audio with the subwoofer you will find better deal and deeper bass with that i run 3 10 inch subwoofers with 2 8 inch subwoofer and i have 2 6x8 mids as my tweaters
but pa definly has the crispyer audio
ive tried car subs but most are rated way too high power for what they are
yea that is true each of my subs is 400 watts witch is hard to maintaine in a house
last time i saw some subwoofers at cash converters they were a great price
mine says 900 peak 300 rms i ran 150 and it smelt like burning
true i got a 18 inch pa woffer without the box for 10 bucks one time
i have real 250 watt speakers and they dont get warm under the same power
danm what sub is that
just some random car sub i bought a while ago
true in car audio there is alot of shit thats wrong
my 15 inch woofers run 180 watts easily and are rated for 250w rms which i know it can run
500 watt peak
not lying like car audio does they would say 10000 watts 1000 watt rms
i bought a pyle 10 and it said 1000 lets just say rip to that sub
i got a 1100 watt amp that is actully 400 lol
i found some jbl pa subs for insanely cheap i hope they didnt sell yet
i might just flip them
hopefully jbl is hard to find not overpriced
fliping them would be a good idea that or keep em
they were £230 i think
either 15 or 18 inch dual subs
cant remember if they were powered
i need to check the model and see if they are there tomorrow
solid price and if they come powered thats a no brainer steal right ther lol
i wanna try the rockvile 18s
they look like this and are only 12s but i dont need 15s
thoes are nice ngl
apparently 250w rms
for 12s is it like 250 for both or just 1
thoes are some powerfull 12s if there mesured corectly what type of 15s do you run
pa woofers
idk why but i have been trying to get my hands on a servo subwoofer they look so satisfiing
i want to make one
real the yt videos i have seen on them just look insane
i think i could make a business making them
if you did id definly buy servo subs are a pain to find at a good deal
it wouldnt be for ages
true lol
always wanted to go into the business of making speakers
same i wanna open a audio shop where i setup custom systems for home audio and car audio
i mean make them completely from scratch
that would be fun i made a subwoofer 1 time by taking a voice coil out of a subwoofer and attached some carboard to it is sounded so clapped lol
maybe one day
shit you can do it i bet
yea probably
can anyone recommend wireless headsets with really good sound that can be also used for gaming
Do you have a preferred price?
Well somethinh not cheap or most expensive, lets say idk about 200 eur
Alr, I would recommend SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5, I haven't used them personally so you may want to read some reviews about them but I have used plenty of cheaper headphones from steel series and they have been very good
i’d probably save a little more for something like ft3 or maxwells if you need 2.4ghz
i’d not pay above €100 for those
Ok
Where I am they are £127 on Amazon
bruh, mb i again messed up another headphones for having 2.4ghz tie ft3 does not support 2.4ghz well ten nvm
then audezes ig
too much imo for the sound
Oh ok
I don’t pay much attention to the 2.4ghz market as the decent headphone brands don’t focus on that
atleast none that i know of
I haven't used them so I didn't know that, I was just going off of the frequency graph on rtings
rtings isn’t the best when it comes to headphone reviews, some of their charts are questionable with what other reviewers usually measure, but well, even according to their chart the novas have a dip in treble, which may create distance effect if implemented right, but a straight 4k dip usually doesn’t achieve that with what some gaming headphones usually do too.
Yeah they do have a bit of extra bass.
such dip usually doesn’t improve the sound stage or imaging thoigh and may instead make the headphones lack attack or sound as if there was a wooden wall inbetween your ear and the source of sound without rest of the higher treble being gone, it’s hard to explain in words mb
yeah, they’ll be muddy
if you want cheap 2.4ghz the g435 aren’t bad but they lack sub bass and they’re a bit dark, someone with sensitive to 3k may not enjoy them
at the $80-220 i don’t know which 2.4ghz you should get, the arctis headphones aren’t horrible but they’re not great either when it comes to sound
it’s really up to you
or ask someone else if they don’t know a good 2.4ghz headphones within that budget. pretty sure it’s not something from corsair and razer atleast as these brands have big markups, if something doesn’t exist then the steelseries are fine
subwoofer
prove thats a subwoofer
omg
That is a dirty ass subwoofer
i have one of these its ass
my pa speakers play lower
it says 300 watt rms and almost ignites at 150
and cant ever hit 900 peak even for 1ms
unless they changed the advertising since i bought one
it was alright at the time i just got new subs
i think the most i ever use at my desk is like 2-3 watts.
I really hope that distortion is the camera mic lol and not the sub itself
its the room
Ah right cool
i have alot of screws and stuff chilling on my desk
Lmao, tbh always wondered what vibe amps are like cause theyre pretty common in car audio shops over here
iirc last time I was looking the lower end pioneer class abs seem to be considered decent as a "budget" amp at least for door speakers
i didnt use the vibe amp i used a more reliable one and ran at about 150 watts on the 12 inch vibe sub
very similar sub if not the same
Though mine already rattle the doors at below like 150hz so idk if I really need one lol
it sounded ok i got it for dirt cheap new anyway
this is a different model
it looks very very similar
rms is 1600w and my amp only outputs 400 max anyways
what size is it
12"
i only push like 200-300w on it anyways
it wouldnt take any more
thats fine
the difference between my "900" watt vibe sub and a 10 inch professional sub that draws 180 watts is insane
the pro sub is 10x louder
and plays lower
it just depends on port freq
vibe says like 5000 watts on a 2 inch sub
50000000000 watts if you add enough zeroes to the beginning of the resistance
i had a power reading and it was below 150 and starting to get hot, rated for 300 watts btw
like when i mean hot it was going to burn out if i didnt lower the volume
i only need to search for any speaker and i can find stuf like this
i bought it used for like 20 bucks so its prolly been thrown in a shed and theres alot of dirt on it but it plays very well
they should in general
not even with speakers
theres alot of fake power ratings and i play well below rms
"900 watts"
"12 inch"
most of them are tiny 8 inch subs with a 12 inch passive radiator
300 watts rms my ass
it'd prolly do 900w at like 8 ohm lol
no tiny aliexpress 8 inch sub can do 300 watts rms
i was looking at 2 18 inch subs today for the same price
used
it doesnt have an amp like that doesnt
rated for 750 watt each
that 8 inch sub apparently is more powerful than a professional 18
comparing studio monitors to shitty subs isnt really a good comparison anyways
its like comparing a plastic shovel to a excavator
same price and same "rated power"
people buy it 🤷♀️
u buy it once or twice then realise its not that good fr
not everyone has the budget for high grade stuff, and if its to just have that small elevation in ur cars audio then its fantastic
a lot of cheaper cars have subs in them now from factory that sound better than the cheap subs
even with my vibe sub, its rated for 1600w at some ohm too lazy to look at spec, but they are dirt cheap, to be thrown in a shitbox and your car is gonna crap out before the sub is
if you run it at rated power it will last 2 seconds
and it is a 11 year old+ sub
thats no more than 300 watts
550w
if it was a 15 it would ne 550
this is a 15 inch sub rated for 500 watt rms
look at the size of it
this is a 500 watt rms 12 inch sub
500w rms scar vd-12
that will also ignite at 500 watts
dual spider and has a much larger voice coil
because it can actually run 500 watts sustained for a very long time
that thing cant run 500 watts for a long time
yes but no one is running 500w at the same frequency sustained for like 20 mins
then it cant be rated for 500 watts if it cant run it
it'd go to 100-300-700-400-200-400-800-100-50-250-500-275, literally ANYTHING because music isnt just a sustained tone for the duration of the song
if you happen to listen to american rap music from 2003 then it does have 28-40hz sustained for a minute usually
fluctuates
it's just a solid bass tone
if we base flo rida- low as a sustained tone, it bumps within intervals
and has small stops in it
which even if you power it to 500w, its doing it for a second per bass hit
and almost abt 2 mins in, theres a change up in the bassline
it doesn't matter about the song rms power is how much it can sustain
yes but sustained isnt really viable in any real world circumstance
unless ur literally playing with intent to damage
then it falls into user error
I've been looking for this record for ages
it needs cleaning slightly
it's not in the best condition
idk why most of my 12 inch are 45 rpm
why do receivers typically tell you RMS for 1 and 2 channels driven, but no more beyond that? most people would be running at least 3 if youre looking to buy a AVR no?
First, 90% of the power will be going to one or two channels during normal movie playback.
second, so they can make it seem like the amp is more powerful than it really is.
🐐
is there a chrome extension to change what audio device a specific tab is output via? i used to use AudioXout but it doesnt seem to work anymore
5090 ahh wattage is crazy
this is the sub I use on my main pc, https://www.powersoundaudio.com/products/v1510df1
Hello! Looking for speakers for PS5 2.0\2.1. Right know i've got soundbar build in monitor (Benq EX2710Q) and want to upgrade it... Budget from 0 to 600$. And maybe inside this price need to include additional switch or smth, cuz i don't want to connect 3.5mm to controller. Any suggestions please?
Hey @cosmic echo! PS5 supports USB audio outputs. My recommended way to go about it would be a USB audio interface, with XLR or RCA connected speakers! I can give you some recommendations, what currency are you using? I'm in Australia so just want to be sure I'm working with your budget.
ty! currency - usd
Glad to help! These are ones I love myself and have used in the past. I've been a music artist professionally previously, but now just on the side for the last 12 years. Never had any issues whatsoever and the sound quality is incredible.
The 3.5" monitors will be good if you're in a small space and theyll be sitting on or near enough to the desk, however, you could swap the sub and the monitors to just standalone monitors and go with E8's standalone

oki doki thanks
Guys, I just bought the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2. Do I go for Hesuvi or DTS Sound Unbound?
Amazon frontpage ahh recommendations
Do you need a soundbar specifically
Its generally not a good investment unless you have no space available
Does polarity matter for earphones?
I'm pretty sure it matters for speakers...
Luckily, my connector isnt keyed...so i can just reverse them if i need to
Try it out and let us know https://youtu.be/kUT6ZhFdLkA

nah… i want to try speakers and i’ve got 200x80sm table. enough space i think
do they make recone kits for the skar ix8
I got 4 pairs of headphones now. Feels like too many
sentimeter
my receiver has a "pre-out" subwoofer. from my understanding pre-outs generally go to a dedicated AMP, but since powered subwoofers have internal amps, does it just go straight to the subwoofer?
Do compression drivers have oil or ferrofluid in them?
I noticed the wave guides in some of my speakers are slightly oily
Got my headphones
Yes
Howdy, trying to figure out a solution to an EARC problem. Wasn't sure if this was a good solution:

Im seeing a lot of really negative reviews on the momentum 4 noise cancelling.. is it really THAT bad or are people just exaggerating? I plan on getting them for daily use for studying and the very infrequent but distant plane ride. Would this be a good option or should I reconsider? Fyi I have big ears so the xm5 probably wouldn’t be good for me
Alot of them do
Good night y'all, I bought a pair of Sennhaiser HDR 175 headphones without their base/charger for less than 10 bucks, should I try and buy the base from Ebay? Are they worth it?
Rs 175?
My inzone h9 broke, any recommendations for good headphones for music and gaming? needs to be wireless and have anc. price: under 500usd.
the audeze maxwells are really good, planars so nice crisp sound, a good mic, and some built in noise suppression plus I believe an "ai" controlled anc
only 289$ on amazon too so under budget
Ltt actually did a video on them
I believe it was a short circuit
I bought the Edition XS and the fiio k11
audeze's when you want 2.4ghz wireless
What's the best gaming headset I can get for 200-300 any opinions?
might be fun if you play games with nice soundscapes and atmospherics
depends on how you define best
this headset could be used for many things. for all I know, you may just use it for minecraft and phonk music
which would lead to drastically different recommendations compared to r6s and metal music
even then, I have no idea what your preferences are
i play games like dark and darker and tarkov so hearing footsetps is a big priorty something wireless
as well if possible
Yepp, now i can hear the people behind me in roblox
I'm not familiar with either of these games, so I should find some test footage of them on youtube first
but I'm also not familiar with that many wireless headsets
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DBPFVTBM?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1 I want to pair this with a hifiman sundara and the lct 440 pure will be my mic.
I am mostly concerned about the hifiman sundara, should I spend more on getting a decent DAC and amp setup? Or is this plenty?
I heard the dac and amp is exceptional in the topping interface

are you on windows
yes I am on windows 11.
will you need to use the low latency of the ASIO driver for things like monitoring audio (from desktop or mic) with plugins or effects inbetween
because as is common with audio interfaces that are new or macos-focused, the ASIO driver alledgedly is shit
Hi, what earbuds do you guys recommend at the price of max 60 euros? I am looking for a pair which has the design like the airpods pros and decent anc. I was thinking of the cmf ear buds 2 pro but I heard that they are kinda bassy. Couldn't that be fixed with an eq tho?
which can mean anything from overruns, stuttering, random crashes of your daw or OBS, and bluescreens
So then it might be better to get a separate amp or maybe look at the Motu m2, the amp is also pretty good. I heard topping has quality control issues. Didn't know about the windows 11 issues.
could be fixed with eq, yes
Are they better than huawei freebuds 5i? I am using apple music which has lossless btw
From what I read, they both have ldac
I used the galaxy buds 2 till a month ago with the samsung codec and they were pretty good but they were uncomfortable and I also lost them lol
the only ones I've tried around that price were the moondrop nekocakes. sounded great to me once I got it paired up properly to a modern phone. I still wouldn't want to use them in games or in intense music like metal or harder electronic stuff because they lose clarity fast then. they've got just a touch of spaciousness, maybe 8 inches
ANC also didn't work for low frequency rumble
you can still use the topping interface without the driver, but it'll be as limited as selecting a headset's headphone out and mic in windows and obs
just very few of the bonuses an audio interface provides
the hardware in the front should still work
and back
I had the inzone h9, i liked those, sounds alot like the xm5´s with better bass. but mine broke down 3 times in the past 2 months
i had alot of connection issues
wireless buds are all gonna sound pretty bad at 60 dollarydoos…..
although no one gives a shit about audio quality these days
there are some fairly decent items
terrible idea to go wireless with videogames if you don't mind having like 100ms delay
all the tarkov dudes wear wired iems for a reason
Yeah... if you MUST go wireless, get one with a USB dongle transceiver. They're MUCH better than bluetooth.
he is asking for tws buds though
I don't think there are a pair of those with a receiver
is the motu m2 a worth while upgrade over the minifuse from arturia
My mic will be the lct 440 pure and headphones hifiman sundara
gen 1 minifuse?
Oh yeah... don't game on those. They'll get you killed in shooters due to delayed audio cues @final root
if you have a reason to upgrade to it then go ahead
what are you doing, production?
if you are doing production id invest in a better interface but if its just a hobby I wouldn't bother
and this is an audio interface, it isn't meant to power high current planars or high load low sensitivity headphones, its just for powering your average studio headphones
sundaras are literally not worth investing in a better amplifier for but if you are going to upgrade to something decent like the edition xs you shouldn't rely on your audio interface for powering those
fym gen 1 there's only 1 gen
I was just clarifyin'
Agreed. @rich canopy If you've got Sundaras, and you're not needing a 2nd channel input, then an appropriate headphone amp might be a better investment.
nah im saying dont invest in an amp for the sundaras but do invest in an amp if you will upgrade to better planars in the future
I'm using sundaras rn because my other pair broke these are really not good
my attempt at making it not sound bad
Is the steelseries artis 5 for $80 good for the price?
does anyone know if audio can become messed up and become staticky due to a monitors audio system conflicting with a headsets?
Things I might try:
- Try disabling the monitor audio through device manager
- Move around while wearing the headset and see if the timbre or volume on the static changes (if it gets louder when you get close to something then there might be RF interference.)
- When you say headset, what kind of headset is it? Where is it plugged in?
- Are you using any other audio devices, or just PC audio?
- What settings do you have selected for both audio devices in Windows (or whatever OS or software you're using)
should I buy Dolby Atmos for my Fiio Ft1s?
any software I should install to get the most of them
any software I can use to hear footsteps betetr?
max volume 👍
but I do know that steelseries gg has presets for audio for every game, with footstep oriented eqs for games where it may matter, like eft or the like
real. gunshots alone would fuck my ears up
how would I even tweak my eqs
it allows you to tweak the eqs
but it does the frequency ranges where it would matter
no lol
anyway, i would increase around the 100-250hz mark
Does anyone have any personal experience with the Shure MV7+ ? I like that it’s usb or XLR.
this is my granddads old 5.1 system what are the cables going into the motherboard called? Because I’m wondering if there’s a way to convert it on my own computer
I only have a line out cable though on my own motherboard so is there a way to get a 5.1 system to work with it
If your mobo doesn't support 5.1, you'd have to buy a 5.1 sound card.
They're male 1/8" headphone jacks that seem to be going to RCA jacks.
Top row: motherboards with 5.1 support
Bot row: gonna' have to buy a 5.1 card
This one looks a little "cheap", but you could also use an "external sound card"
This 7.1 USB sound cards offers a high quality solution for upgrading desktop or laptop sound. Home Theater-Ready Audio Solution Providing a robust USB audio experience, the external sound card for your laptop or PC connects to a host computer through a single USB 2.0 connection, to deliver impre...
I’m assuming the side port is for 7.1 as the cable that he has only has 3 inputs
Yeah I believe 5.1 is Center, LR Front, LR Back, and Sub.
7.1 adds LR Side.
Alright thank you hopefully I can get this working at my home pc
So this guy looks to be 5.1 but not 7.1 compatible:
does it have no digital inputs
you can configure it using the driver program
99% cases its just realtek
You can re-configure a "line in" or a "mic in" 1/8" to be an output?
there are 4 other ports there aside from mic in
Yes but 3 of them are already used for 5.1, and the other is a "line in"
I’m assuming it’s analog there’s 3 red and 3 white on the input and 5 analog outputs that go to the speakers
I don’t know the name of any of these cables that go into the sub
I don't believe they're bidirectional DACs
line in and mic in are the same port
you have a separate line in input on your motherboard?
Sub and center are shared
rear is also stereo so one port is 5/6
Yeah there’s C/Sub on the yellow port
thats stupid and shouldn't be something you do
but ig there you go
lol
3 ports to power 6 channels
It's how it was designed
subs shouldn't really be given sounds above what they can react to
and mid center is obviously higher in response than a sub
Yes they send the center to one of the two stereo channels and sub signal to the other
Then the cable splits on the other end
LOL
theres probably a lowpass or something
Yuh
anyhow mate just use the soundcard control software
its probably realtek or something
It seems to work that’s all I’m bothered abt on the windows XP computer. It’s then getting it to work on windows 11
surround generally works ass on analog outpots on windows pcs
Yup! Just check to see if your mobo supports 5.1 natively, and then get an internal or external 5.1 device if the mobo doesn't
Yeah it's not greeeeat
but it works!
you'd normally use a digital device for it
Yeah some nicer sound cards have better DACs in them
most decent receivers have hdmi bypasses or optical ins
This system seems to be old analog RCA in
Not bad for signal transmission, but definitely susceptible to RF noise if you used unshielded cables.
I've used plenty of professional music production gear that uses RCA, but you def wanna use decent cables
i dont think interference would be a huge issue at a house
Eh some TVs, some computers, and other devices with any "large" power draw can put off RF.
If I put my SM7b too close to my desktop, I get a little RF whine
But you're right for the most part... most newer devices are shielded pretty well.
Just don't put any old tube displays close to the wires when you're running them @gilded frigate lol
It shouldn’t be an issue id hope lol, though the cable management behind my pc went to shit when I got my new moniter
Yeah just run them around any large, external power supplies and you should be fine
Does isolating headphones wires to 4 or 5 whole wires help with audio quality?
If i take a random pair of headphones i like and solder in a 4.4mm plug, would that improve anything?
If I buy a pair of earbuds and they have the 2 pin connectors on them, but come with a TRS cable, will anything improve if I switch to a 4 wire cable to connect to a headphone amp I have that has a 4.4mm jack?
What is the 4 wire cable for?
Making people feel better about themselves?
Don’t quote me on this. If you wanted exact answers you would google. So I will pull this out of my rear end and hopefully it is correct. I think it is ground, and helps mitigate interference for long cables?
if you have issue comes from not having balanced it will but
that would be pretty unique
So it just entered the "high quality audio" arena because it looks cool or something?
Chances are it won't improve anything?
uh
some amps that have that have both balanced and single ended
have better performance in their balanced outputs
My headphone amp/usb Amp/DAC have a balanced 4.4 jack
what combo
what amp/dac
Its like 6 dollars for the cable and i already own the earbuds and the amp...so I'll probably at least try it.
Thanks. I'll keep it in my Amazon side cart in case i need something for "free* shipping
What kind of a cheap dac should I get? I have pc37x and my mobo has shit shielding, I get static in my mic output
k5 pro could be fine under 100
or cheaper?
pc37x's aren't hard to drive at all so like even apple dac would be fine
or cx31993 one that's not shitty
I thought of something like cx31993 but I can't find a dual one for the life of me
Sorry for not pinging
do get that
Yeah but I can't find one that has 2 3.5mm ports
I need the second port for the built in mic
use a splitter?
they should have a mic input
Any earbud suggestions that are good enough for use with gas weed whackers and chainsaw work?
I don’t know of any strong enough for chainsaw chains or weedwacker line
The steel reinforced star shape is my goto though
More for use as an audio device, Bluetooth cutting tools don't work well for me.
is MOONDROP Dawn Pro overkill for my use case
As far as isolation goes, it doesn't get any better than an etymotic er2xr. They sound a bit goofy at first, and they go way in there, but they are on par with professional earplugs.
Otherwise airpod pro 2. or moon drop space travel if you want to spend no money.
Dawn pro doesn't have a mic input.
Thanks i will look into those.
Hey, I have a pair of Sennheiser HD599 SE headphones. Was wondering if there are any great options to upgrade to at some point. Would be nice to try out some wireless headphones but I am worried about quality loss in audio since it wont be plugged in to an interface as I do now. Currently love the HD599s best quality i've had ever but I am curious to go deeper into audiophile territory. Any suggestions?
How much do you want to spend and what don't you like about the 599
Uhh im fine spending like $250-$300 on a better pair, preferably open-back. There isn't anything I don't like about the 599, just looking to up the audio quality if thats even worth it. Or maybe just a recommendation for a wireless set that has equal audio quality or better, would be nice to have a good wireless pair for work.
Take a look at the hd6xx or hd600.
I've got $1000 headphones and I still use a 6xx
So. It's worth checking out.
I'll check them out now, Thanks!
Haha, I actually have those in my wish list already, couldn't find the hd6xx unless the "xx" is just a filler
There's the Hd600, hd650, and hd6xx. People shorten them to the hd6X0. They're all pretty much the same headphone. Hd650 and hd6xx are almost the same.
The hd6XX is a massdrop.com exclusive but they're a reputable distributor
Alright, so I recently bought an HD 700 (used) and ended up getting a refund since the shipper damaged it prior to shipping it out. Does Sennheiser have anything close to it currently? I spent $250 + shipping on the HurrDurr700s. Refund is incoming, so what should I look for similar to this set?
I'm thinking HD6XX, HD58X HD600/HD620.
I have test drove a set of HD700's and I liked the performance.
if you were able to try that headphone, you should try a bunch of others too
bring music you're familar with and take note of what headphones do things you like or don't like
hd58x/hd620 in theory are way below the 700's drivers in terms of some of the techs
not entirely sure which, except for stage and maybe instrument separation
point being, in the used market you're basically looking at $500 msrp headphones, not $150
hd6xx and hd600 are cool, but it depends on what you're looking for. they're certainly way different from the hd660s series from what I've been told
but I just consider them average
at least for $300
(and within my preferences and use cases)
Is it better for me to Get a 5.1 Soundcard for my MoBo
Or an External 5.1 sound card that goes through usb?
Cause I’m not sure if my Mobo supports 5.1 and even if it did I wouldn’t have a clue how to make it work with the current ports I have
anyone got reccommendations on what to clean in-ear headphones with?
a moist qtip didn't work
Hello guys between the Quadcast 2s ($200) and a Wave 3 ($130) which one should I get? I'm not thinking of getting into XLR audio right now so I would love if I get a recommendation between the two.
USB is better.
If you have pink and blue, sometimes you can re-assign them as rear and surround or something, but USB or HDMI to a reciever or Toslink or coaxial S/PDIF is much better
But you said "5.1". and in order for it to be true n.1, you need an actual LFE channel
How do my square waves look?
are they square enough?
I dare say...those arent very square...
15000Hz is the last frequency where it looks anything like a square
I blame my sound card. I'm sure the generator is fine
I'd probably have to spend like 50 dollars to buy a device to test the generator
i hate the realtek audio app fr
it says left speaker out then just doesnt output any sound
Does the left speaker output sound when other apps tell it to?
no it just does nothing
So...maybe left speaker doesnt make sound...
the port does not output as left speaker even though there is an option
it only works as line or mic in
it is selected as left speaker on the software and the manual for the motherboard says it is
Are you saying There's an option to dedicate one TRS jack on your computer just to Left Channel Audio?
Left Stereo and Left Surround?
And then the other side is Right Stereo and Right Surround?
no
the port that doesn't work is side audio it just shows up as left but it does left and right
Left Surround and Left Rear?
and centre just becomes 1 speaker for some reason and makes the other one into a subwoofer
like, an actual LFE channel?
it doesn't even have subwoofer out on the board and it just decides one of my speakers is a subwoofer instead of the left centre channel
Here's a stupid idea for Motherboard makers, put 3 TRRS jacks on the motherboard, that way you can get more surround out of the box.
Honestly, at that point I would whip out the TRRS terminals and just start probing all the poles
I don't care that much
id just buy a sound card
the only one I have is pcu
pci
it's an Asus one that I have
There's a 50 50 chance I'm thinking of Asus, but I'm pretty sure in that era, me and my dad were buying Diamond products for A/V
I wonder if anybody makes some kind of S/PDIF to TRS module
"It's called a reciever"
I wonder if there are any 64-bit sound cards
Is the Sennheiser HE-1000-XM5 good?
when i search for it a certain Sony model comes up about 100% of the results...suspicious
Sony xm5s are the worst feeling headphones I've ever had
well I held them and never bought them because the sound was awful and the build quality was worse than my 3d prints
I wanna get a soundcard, but the onboard one is pretty much better than anything I'd care to pay for
now i gotta remember where my amp/dac is...
i dont think the line in function is working. oh well
I wasn't expecting speaker calibration to make as much of a difference
Even just the pretty basic Audyssey on my receiver
I might go the REW and UMIK-1 route now
I only have headphone jacks in and a line out port so usb is where I’m going
If you wanna just go ham, and 50 dollars is your budget, I'd get a HDMI capable reciever from a thrift store
I’ve spent 52 on a usb one I plan on doing it for like Film making n shit in my home so
Might even find one for 10. Especially if you only need S/PDIF
Was recommended by someone earlier
Oh, do you need Line In?
I mean this is the setup I’m working with. Getting the old stuff from my grandads pc onto my PC
I was asking earlier whether a sound card would be easier got recommended a USB Adapter that goes either to 5.1 or 7.1 so
is that a 4.1 on the right?
5.1
I only see 3 reds
Yeah It goes C/Sub one cable. FR/FL another cable and then SR/SL on the other one
All the cables go into the Subwoofer it then moves it to the 5 other speakers
I think that’s it lol
It’s an old ass system
Google Lens
It looks exactly like it
L/R/C would be 3.0. I dont see where the sub comes in
Oh the Sub is that
Or does it just take it from all three?
No all the cables goes into the Subs thru the red and white. It doesn’t need a cable for the sub cause it’s already there
Input L/R/C, then redirect everything under 50Hz to itself, and output everything out the output?
Would be nice if it had at least one crossover knob
nobs everwhere!
Ik believe me I was confused
So, if there isn't actually a sub channel...and you're trying to record...why are you passing it through the speaker system?
also, what was the usb the person recommended? i might wanna buy it
Oh I’m not trying to record with speakers lol. It’s for playback when I’m audio designing
monitors
This looks fun
#qality
Dumb ahh stand
Ordering a clamp for it atm lmao
Don’t mind the wiring chaos I need to sort my desk lmao
European ahhhhhh motherfucker
I bet in the EU, CDs use 42KHz
Some nerds around here might appreciate this thing
Found this Kenwood KR5150 on ebay for $125 and it still works
Needs a good dusting and one of the bulbs replaced but still works perfectly
Early 1970s prob 72 73
Has anyone here heard of the Mackie TT24 I just found a disk for one but I have no idea what it is
are you a square
You should get yourself one of those new, Bluetooth LP Turntables
No cables
Cables are liberating. Cables are good
These cables make electronics with 50 years in-between their production work together easily
Next expansion to that turntable is gonna be an SQ and CD 4 decoder for matrix quadrophonic multichannel records, where I'll then be able to transfer those matrix quad records to a more convenient medium for playback. That being cassette, where it'll remain matrix quad requiring a decoder still, but more convenient and durable than vinyl with no loss to frequency response using the right tapes. And then to PC, PCM, where it'll be exported as a discrete quadriplegic Flac
All done with equipment with a 50 year variance in production
Cables, cables 😎
Defeats the entire point of having a turntable
I saw one at the thrift store.
I thought the entire point of a turntable was the limited range of the medium and the "flavour" it has
no its pure analog playback
Is this better than a presonus studio 26 USB?
I don't know what any of that means, but I wonder if quad tapes were ever a thing outside of those things for recording things that use all 4 tracks at once
and you can customize the tone of that playback with different tonearm/stylus pairings
thats the deal of vinyls aside from the collector side of things
Hi, any recommendation for what I should get anytime soon? (playing comp and I need new headphones)
can be wired and all I need is good sound quality (doesn't have to be crazy good ofc), good mic (that can be pushed in to the headphones and won't cover my face), comfortable and 1ms delay 🤔
my budget is about 140$ / 500NIS (Israel)
right now I'm using the razer kraken pro v2 and they are really good but I already have then for years and they are starting to wear-out
I have an arctis 5 wireless and it's pretty good
I'm looking for something wired, wireless have high delay (about 30ms or more)
But thanks 🫡
There 2.4ghz aswell as Bluetooth so as long as you run them in 2.4 there's no noticeable latency
30ms
"I am looking for something wiredI'm looking for something wired, wireless have high delay (about 30ms or more)"
"it only has 30ms latency"
Which Dac or Amp should i get for 50$ a good all-rounder that can push Bass and power at the same time ?
30 is high for me 🫤
I'm already playing on high ping and I can't add more delay than that
Are the cmf buds 2 pro any good?
everyone says that but nobody actually does it
I think my IEMs are broken
the right one is more loud than the left one
can I fix this?
what iems are they
Anyone have Hifiman Arya or HE1000?
you sure you dont have earwax buildup?
anyhow you can change the balance setting
I checked again and again and cleaned as much as I could
yeah I guess last option
btw try to reduce the audio of one side rather than increasing the other
avoid digitally increasing volume in any scenario
on desktop I used realtek audio console
on that, it only shows direction
like this
also any idea, what I can do on samsung?
yeah I wasn't able to find
nothing shows up if you search balance in settings?
I have audio balance in: accessibility > audio adjustment
it would be like
really stupid for any balance setting to increase volume on one side instead of lowering the other
and I didnt really think before warning you about it
im like 99% certain you wouldn't have the issue I mentioned
I don't think it exactly just increases volume on one side
it reduces on one side and increase on other side at the same time
I mean that's what it felt like when adjusting
I mean this too works alright but still in spatial audio, the instruments which are played on the right side will always sound louder than the left ones
I guess it can't really be fixed
dont mean to alarm you but there might be a chance you have hearing loss on one ear
its fairly common for one of your ears to be more sensitive to some frequencies than the other
yeah I thought that too
then I checked with any other earbuds
try other headphones maybe
and they worked perfectly fine
yeah
provided they arent soldered
idk yours
these ones you can see the wire is obviously detachable for example
KZ EDX PRO
yeah you can definitely remove those
I switched the cables
And still the right one was louder
So nothing wrong with the cables
And the left one is damaged a bit I guessb
thats nothing dw about it
I mean the outer covering part
yeah probably driver damage or some cable broke inside in some way
it's gone a little bit
yeah probably that
at the very least thats not related to the issue you have
I guess
so this issue can't be fixed then?
if its driver damage not really
if its a cable broken inside its solveable but like
you may just break it further
its transparent so you should be able to see if there are any broken solder joints or some cable that looks loose
but if some cable is loose then the whole sound shouldn't come
it's just a bit fainter than normal
if its just slightly loose in the right way
then it may make it so that it sounds wrong instead of not functioning
it may be loose but still in contact
well it is transparent but not so much that I can see all the wiring
as much as I can see, everything looks normal
idk i wouldn't mess with it
unless you are set on buying another pair
in that case nothing to lose
well this balancing audio did make it work
I know it's not a fix
but well a normal person wouldn't be able to differentiate
I meant the cables inside the iems
how are KZ iems doing? did they release any noteworthy models since like the castors
under $10 🔥
is it worth buying vintage b&w speakers such as dm4’s / dm110’s?
they seem like a pretty decent deal secondhand
also i like the look of them (even thought that doesn’t matter much)
I checked, no problem with the cables
wait I'm late to the party but I'm thinking it's filter
think it shifted after being dropped?
perhaps yeah
or something got in
and is blocking it
obviously could be driver damage since it was dropped..
Yeah ig
Any not too expensive soundbar recommendations with hdmi arc? Is a used tcl alto 8 for $50 a good choice?
Could anyone suggest me which one is the best among Arctis Nova 1, Cloud 3 and Barracuda X(2022)?
@lean grove https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Inpgge093o0
I hope it’s clear this was all a bit of fun! The Edifier MR3 is a solid speaker at a great price. In my opinion, it outperforms the Edifier MR4 and stands out as the best desktop speaker I’ve encountered in this price range so far.

oo these are decent
not super smooth response, but mostly neutral tonality and theyre only $120 / pair
i dunno when they were released
that's the best stock response that ive seen in any <$150 pair of powered speakers
mr4
still bright ngl
what’s the source for that?
i don’t remember MR4 measuring that well in erin’s review
does erin have an anechoic chamber
He has a klipple NFS
So I’ve got my 5.1 system to work somewhat
Is there a way for it to work with steam games?
provided the games support 5.1 yeah
hi
What about the MR4
They're <$100 now
Around 85 US
That is a transformer
evil box of doom
you have perceived the object
be warned: they are coming
If you don't know what a transformer is and looks like I would highly advise you don't go poking around in electronics.
have you tried washing the pcb with soapy water
don't worry, I won't. lol
Yes lol
I'm hesitating between two Denon refurbished models: AVR-S660H or AVR-S760H
You can get used x1700hs on eBay for the price of the s660
Speaker upgrade
Bit late, but that's the transformer responsible for power delivery. Depending on the amp, it might look a bit different. This is a picture of the insides of a 1kw amp. Some beefy power delivery and a pretty large capacitor bank are clearly visible (transformer the big circular thing on the right and capacitors the 4 black things above it).
Don't touch the transformer or the capacitors while plugged in/not discharged btw.
Maybe a relay not switching correctly? (That's just an uneducated guess)
I've been making a list of some headphones under $100 that I'm looking to get
Whats the next step up from DT770 Pros, Need to be closed back, not wireless? I don't have a DAC and can't get one due to desk retraints
Closed back market is dead asf
do u like dt770 without eq
ye
your not the first person to say that 🤣
I deeply despise beyer for their treble peaks, but Id rec dt1770 mk2 for u
I'll take a look thanks
just to check, if i where to run them do i need any extra equipment such as a DAC?
apple dongle will be plenty
Since we're talking about beyerdynamics anyway: You could also consider spending a bit more to get their DT-990 Pros or the DT-770 Pro, depending on your preference of either open or closed back. In Germany they're just 149€/139€.
The 990s are my personal favorite, as I tried both in a store. They served me very well the last year and I would absolutely buy them again.
One
I looked into those but those were too much
I'm looking to up my microphone game. I've settled for the Shure SM7B as my microphone upgrade, but I'm still unsure on any specific interfaces. Any suggestions? P.S. any arm suggestions would be nice too.
Also, use cases will vary, but for now it's mostly for streaming/vocal work.
dw they are shit anyways
id go for the k361
Finally, WH-1000XM6
https://thewalkmanblog.blogspot.com/2025/01/sony-wh-1000xm6-yy2984-hits-fcc.html
That means WH-1000XM5 & lower numbers sucks now.
Wondering what people recommend for there EQs when they are Film Making/Gaming/listening to music
Cause I keep having to switch between gaming EQ and music EQ
EQ settings are 9001% subjective to a variety of factors, including the type of audio you're listening to, the source material, the DAC/AMP you're using, the headphones / speakers you have, and most importantly of all, every single person's hearing capabilities and listening preferences.
Do you reckon it’d just be best to continue like I’ve been swapping the modes around then?
Cause when I’m listening to music the music mode makes it wayyy better same with the gaming
no
tune it to some well perceived target like the harman
adjust anything you dont like if there is any
ideally you'd make your own eq target
but if you don't have the ears for it autoeqing to harman is probably your best bet
I’ve never heard of the Harman before? What is it?
they got a bunch of people made them try a lot of eq presets and headphones
a lot of them said they liked a frequency response that is similar to what the other people liked
and the average of that is the harman target which is supposed to be a nice listening target for majority of humans
Yas. Custom EQs tuned to your exact listening preferences (using the audio hardware you have) are really the way to go. I generally like a more flat / studio sound with slight adjustments depending on the headset model.
Example:
what he said provided you can find and execute what you want in a headphone
Yeah mine is a lot less high tech and instead of there being an EQ on the hardware it gives you software to mess around with the EQ
I mean most eq is software
there are really niche cases to use hardware eq
and its generally in studio settings
Well thank you I’m going to research abit into harman curves n then test it later
just google how to do autoeq
watch a video and that should cover how to eq most headphones to harman provided someone has measured them before
Those were on my list
I've been looking for a new headphone. Any recommendation? I was looking at either the dt 700 prox and the dt 900 prox. Currently using an mmx300 from like 5 years ago and it's been not doing well
what will you use them for? any common game names or genres of music? and is there anything you know about what you want to hear better with these headphones
I'm guessing you don't mind if it blocks out outside noise
I basically have 0 background noise
Are these any different to the decoders in a standard AV receiver?
Anyone got any opinions on the DT 900 pro X?
I've got this sticker on my bass guitar, it's hilariously great
it's also ironic since I've dropped it
Any recommendations for a better dac/pre-amp for Genelec G Three B’s, something with a subwoofer pre-out would be preferred
Could use any RCA pre-amp you want and a minidsp 2x4
What do you plan on using it for?
Price?
Hey guys, I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes nothing. I’ve been using my Kotion Each 2000 for 4 years now, and I want to upgrade. My main goal is to get a very comfortable headset for long gaming or work sessions (comfort is my number one concern). I also need something with good build quality because I’m a clumsy guy and will probably drop it a lot. After some research, these are my contenders (next to them are the prices in USD according to amazon UAE ) , and I’d love to hear your opinions on them. If you have other suggestions, please let me know. I’m getting these from the UAE, so prices may vary where you live, but my budget is around $70.
The goal of this video isn't to provide in-depth coverage on any specific product, nor is it a ploy to get you to buy new stuff! I wanted this to be a basic guide for each product type and price range based on gear I myself have personally used and enjoyed. If I can suggest these to friends and family, I can suggest them to you! I broke it do...
ye so i was gonna ask
i dont know anything about speakeers
but
i was gonna get the elac dbr62 speakers
and i wanna know if there are any that are about that price / quality or at a higher price, bc im interested in looking on ebay or fb marketplace for some banger deals
in the same way, are there any avrs with similar feature sets as the denon x1700/x1800
all i know is that a setup with an x1800 and dbr62s would be sick, so im just looking to get something of that quality or better through ebay and fb marketplace
They look pretty good.
A good alternative would be the JBL studio 530. They can occasionally be found for less than $300 and I would personally go for those if you can find them.
Though if it's between $600 for a pair of 530s and $600 for the elacs, get the elacs.
I could get them for 100€
Light mixing/mastering & general media consumption
do you mind peaky treble?
I can live with it. I mean at that price point you have to compromise right?
at €100 you can get probs better sounding headphones
What would you recommend?
pc37x or some jbl tune 700 series
From what I've heard the tune 700 is supposed to be pretty narrow sound stage wise (also I do already have the Sennheiser momentum 4 which if I'm remembering right would be a little too similar to those to justify them)
the pc37x’s are semi open back, momentum 4’s closed back, different driver iirc, different tuning
jbls have mid soundstage/imaging for a closed backs
Ye I was talking about the 700s with that Ima be looking into the pc37x's for sure ig I might also just be biased against jbl lol
what’s wrong with the momentum 4’s for you?
yes, dt’s have better soundstage but that’s also due to them having a 4k dip and ~10khz region boosted
?
I am assisting in updating the microphone system for my university's TV station and am seeking recommendations on hardware that aligns with our needs.
Requirements:
The system must include four wireless lavalier microphones and four wireless handheld microphones. While all microphones do not need to be used simultaneously, the setup must support at least four active channels feeding into our audio board.
All purchases must be made through B&H Photo Video.
The system should be budget-conscious, though not necessarily the lowest-cost option.
Ease of use is a priority, as the system will primarily be operated by students with limited experience in audio mixing and hardware management.
I am currently looking at the Sennheiser EW-D or the ew 300 G4.
Any and all help is appreciated, thank you!
Put everything on a PDU - maybe including sequencer for the mixer and the speaker amps so that everything can be turned on in stages with a single button
Not too familiar with those specific systems but I've had decent luck with Senn wireless mic and monitor systems in the past so either should be fine
We currently have a shure system that we are just looking into updating I've used Sennheiser and Shure elsewhere and have never had any issues with them, I will have to double check the rack when I'm back in studio but I believe its all on a pdu.
Yea if you're trying to make it easy to use, I'd add a sequencer that makes it better for turning on multiple amps + allows you to turn on the mixer first, then speaker amp to avoid pops and vice versa
if it's soundstage you want, that's probably the behringer truth 3.5
I would rather use the edifier mr4 for mixing if I was forced to use one of these, but there are sacrifices made to the soundstage, midrange detail, dynamics
the behringers are bordering on muddy and have less tight sounding bass, but for 3.5" speakers it's quite an improvement in bass depth and especially fullness over the older stuff like mackie cr3x or presonus eris e3.5
and the mids are very natural sounding, detailed, dynamic. more than I could've hoped for at $100
Hi guys I recently bought the Shure MV7+ and I have a iPhone XR can I use the mic with my iPhone any help would be greatly appreciated
Salutations!
I need help
is anyone able to help me with my AV reciver not being picked up my sound settings?
the unplugging and pluging back in didnt work
i also reinstalled audio drivers
Please @ me if anyone knows anything :)
it might be helpful for people if they know what the AV receiver is, how its connected, and if this is your first time setting it up or if its worked in the past
because otherwise there is nothing to go off of with the info you gave
It is a Pioneer Elite LX505 connected via hdmi, it used to work, but now it’s not being seen for audio, but video is working.
did you update your GPU drivers recently
Yes
that would be a good place to start troubleshooting
idk what else to offer other than revert back to an older driver and see if that fixes it
Okee
@lean grove Tysm! it worked! but funny enough it was uninstalling the gpu drivers that fixed it
anyone know whats better value the Sony C510 or C700n
Is the HyperX Cloud Stinger the best wireless headset for its price?
Cloud 2 is good for the price, there aren't many good wireless headsets tbh
I don't think those are in the same price bracket
Yeah and there isnt anything actually good under the cloud 2
I can say I am satisfied with my HD6XX purchase. 🙂
Who here rocking planars
Can anyone recommend me a a good EQ for Mac similar to windows EQ APO + ?
mi
what planars
planar 2
guys ive got a problem with my digital hifi audio, its a new pc build and my audio is either non existent or extremely choppy. Went onto device manager and found this, anyone know a fix?
Which
He400se just rn
wuh
Me 2-3 years ago
How you liking them
I have no shortage of headphones and headsets cheaper than cloud II that I find more competetive in certain games
I have $40 stuff I would use over hd560s and even mc450 situationally
I cant think of any good wireless headsets rlly lol
Wireless is what he asked for
o
sometimes edition xs, usually for comfort reasons ironically
Yeah ironically
soundstage is unusually potent too
I send those things back cause they'd dig into my head
Ofc
I've been trying to find fioo ft1s for a while
me too
i ordered one in december from aliexpress and it got lost or something during shipping
i ordered from hifigo 10 days ago and they havent even shipped it yet
its ridiculous
Its a pretty nice headset but yeah cant rlly find it anywhere
I need to beat the backorder end date so I can shield others from out of place recommendations
which has already happened a lot
the reviewerbase has demonstrated how they will weild the ft1
harmfully
or rather moronically
without any hesitation for any use case
they’re ok
good for under €70/$70 and that’s about it
I wanna compare $70 planars vs $700
yeah no
thats about how I felt
You do cause there'd be less difference than you think lol
they don’t measure all that well, I personally prefer modded hd681’s ($20+)
for my taste
pretty much dt990 se
imo
