Like a $100 DAC amp might be indistinguishable from a $1000 DAC amp if you don't know what to listen for. So you can safely take the blue pill here and be happy with what you currently have.
I know a handful of people with like, $10k audio systems that still have the APP2 as their main listening device because it's convenient and still sounds good.
working fine doesn't mean working at its best
if anything produces sound is sufficient for you then you don't need to purchase headphones that demand separate amp units to begin with
So I was planning on taking apart soundbar, popping off long grill, painting it while making sure no holes pooled up paint. Turn black grill into something cute.
Someone suggested instead of using 'speaker fabric' although they don't know much about it. Something like this. https://www.contrado.com/custom-speaker-fabric-printing.
It says its 100% polyester. Is there something special about the weaving or spacing with this stuff as opposed to spare 100% polyester drapes I have laying around?
dayton audio ps95-8 vs rs100-8 for surround speakers
or is there a better mid/fullrange under 40 USD
i do already have dayton audio DC28FT-8 tweeters
Finished a new build for a virtual talking head show
for content headphone users that don't do any critical listening, is it generally good to boost 0-500hz?
Try it and find out
What does boosting 0-500hz mean?
Sound go brrrr
Ahh i see
Love using the Constellation.
Solid device for the price
We are pushing 4k HDR streams out of this rack
Nice! I use one that pushes the limitations of our 8K for ultrawide LED walls.
what are the specs?
Is that 8 dell microform factor pcs I see? š
Yes sir, they are great
yeah! We've used hundreds of those as part of av systems in teaching spaces at my work
I do all the contribution to the show over zoom and up scale and transform the color space from there
Just bought a pair of XM4s as a New Year's gift to myself thanks to the fact I got some money for Christmas. Was considering Beats Studio Pro or open box XM5s, but all signs pointed towards the XM4s as the soundest investment (no pun intended).
whatās a good microphone i can pair with the Fiio FT1s?
Yoo i also got a new pair of xm4s
I think its very good for price to Performance If you got them fairly cheap
will the V-MODA BoomPro work good with the fiio FT1?
or is there anything better I can use?
@lean grove Arya Unveiled or SVS SB 1000 and MiniDSP Flex + MiniDSP UMIK-1
Headphones are low-fi
Go with the subwoofer and DSP
speakers are objectively less detailed
and room acoustics make it objectively worse
They are more engaging and present music in a more realistic way usually
Like you keep throwing money at headphones and it's gonna be side grades and tradeoffs.
You keep throwing money at speakers and they just keep getting better.
anyone know the best speaker i could get from drum and bass for around £300 (376 USD)
I currently have the Harman Kardon Aura Studio 2
and it has very good bass but im looking for something a little bit newer and when i stick the speaker on max volume the distortion makes the lyrics unhearable
Turtle beach stealth 600 gen 3 or Steelseries arctis nova 5
why these
im assuming because their affordable wireless gaming headphones
Yeah I mean my budgets like 140-150
Shure MV7
Fifine AM8
Modmic will
You can get a wireless one
are you fine with higher latency
Is it a noticeable difference between wired
it is but would you prefer better sound over lower latency?
Probably
is that the best microphone I can get under 50$?
under $300 gaming 2.4ghz headsets all donāt have good sound
I mean what is considered good sound
Like I tried the stealth 600s at Best Buy and they sounded fine
no matter which youtuber tells you that the turtle beach / razer / logitech / steelseries / whatever gaming branded headsets have good sound, either theyāre paid affiliates or likely ignorant, you usually donāt see the youtubers reviewing those headphones telling you theyāre mediocre in sound as theyād lose sales in their affiliates or the deal with that company
yeah but have you tried better headphones than those?
a good reviewer would say the sound of those is mediocre ((at best)) because they are
I mean, I havenāt tried $300 ones but I put on like the arctis pros
Do wired ones have better sound quality for the same price?
companies that focus on good audio usually donāt focus on 2.4ghz
Well, when I put on the stealth 600 I really liked how it felt on my head. Are there wired versions of those?
a fair compromise is using bluetooth aptx, which still has decently high latency of ~200ms but better than the other codecs and companies with good audio do focus on bt more than on 2.4ghz
if you donāt mind getting wired headphones then skip gaming brands altogether
Iād need one with a built in mic since I play on pc and Xbox.
iāve had turtle beach headphone (the recon 200 gen 2) and i mean i did expect worse, but they were still bad, bq was okay
theyāre all tuned similarly
are in-cable microphones and dedicated mics out of question?
because cheap mics are cheap
I mean I already have a blue yeti
well, you can also get like in-cable mic if you necessarily need a headphones with a mic, no dedicated mic
if it cannot be in-cable either then something like pc37x/pc38x
Okay thanks
Is the Audeze Maxwell better than the Fiio FT1s?
well, theyāre two entirely different price points
i was trying to buy the best overall headphones around 200$
Fiio was thrown around, so were the Maxwells
i mean itās on sale rn for 270$
are they better then the fiios tho?
worth the extra cash
if you need the wireless bluetooth headset, the maxwells are very compelling
if you dont need that and can live with wired, then get the FT-1
if I can have either how do either of them preform?
in terms of sound quality
they measure pretty similarly.
ft-1 is gonna have better sub-bass by the looks of it, bit more midbass
but the major difference i think youd notice is that the FT-1 is much lighter
and is much cheaper
a good chunk of the maxwell's price probably comes from all the extra tech crammed into it
and software
i cant really say much more since i havent heard the ft-1
so objectively speaking the maxwells are better than the ft1s
if you care about the wireless features, bluetooth, having a microphone, and the software then yes the maxwell makes sense
if you dont care about any of that, then theres no reason to get it over the FT-1
š
iāll probably go with the ft1s then. same sound, cheaper, and lighter
just need to find the best microphone setup under 100$
anyone know if this is good?
or this
USB microphones for music recording offer plug-and-play ease of use. Connect your audio microphone for recording to your computer and get great sound quality right away. The cardioid condenser microphone provides clear sound to elevate your recordings, vocals and music singing to fuller heights. ...
Do I need an amp for this
These headphones are just 50cents
@stiff fiber why is this one bad
picked it up and am using the arm and filter the mic died (this was about 2 or 3 months after)
is there warranty?
i will hope used is ok
mostly because you get really good deals
yeah used is fine
do you record or stream? maybe you're a musician?
neither just discord with da boys. maybe streaming sometime later
AKG Ara (is my pick for now)
Why do some AV receivers have sheets of plastic clipped to them?
If its 50 cents why don't you buy them and try
I already bought em
I asked for more performance if I needed a Dac ?
I'd clean them up first
Yeah they look like they've been kicked down the street
Anyone had an issue where windows 11 adjusts microphone volume automatically
Not as much as you probably think
i can get a nearly not used bose 321 series ii for 40 bucks should i buy it?
or should i go for LOGITECH Z533 2.1 speaker set? its for my tv for gaming in my bedroom
Any good headphones under the 100 euro/usd?
The Fiio JT1 is pretty good, great reviews and a solid performer for Music & Games as well.
And are there any good wireless headphones?
Ugreen max5c has been getting a lot of buzz
See posts, photos and more on Facebook.
any recs for some headphones 75-100 can got a little more. i have iems rn but i dont hear much differance from when i had headphones kinda open to anything willing to get iems again but something more durable (mine broke in 4 months)
Fiio JT1
m50x last forever
best flat response
akg k361/k371, he400se, pc37x
tune 710/720/760nc if bt
What mic should I get for my pc under $100?
pretty sure not quadcast, unless you have vety limited options in your country
usd? and you didnt give enough information about what you're looking for or how it will be used
is this a good value or should I buy the boom arm from elsewhere
along with this
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DXFX8NB/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A30JTLPOU1KZX1
Itās just a really bad mount
You donāt need a shock mount
Q2u comes with a pop filter
Get smth like an innogear mount
They are cheap and good
Hello people. Has anyone here ever tried a physical audio mixer vs something like voicemeeter? If so what are the key differences(wondering if I should get a Fifine audio mixer or just get a virtual one)
Anyone big into microphones? Ive sorta had a problem with my Mic setup for awhile.
Most games I come across pretty quiet, same with discord Unless im eating the mic, and I prefer it to be up out of the way.
Im running a scarlett solo gen1 or 2, going to usb to my PC. then from the scarlett is an xlr to my MXL 990. I have the gain set to 75% (100% is just distorted, not necessarily LOUD, and the phantom power button on. Is it just a poor mic to be using for online games?
if this one decent?
you're quiet when it's in front of your mic or when you have it out of the way like you prefer it
How good is the fifine am8 for streaming?
I have one and for some reason it's muffled, I kinda need help.
Both. But definitely moreso farther away.
Further away will ALWAYS be quiet
your SNR exponentially drops as you get further from your mic
Try getting the mic right at the corner of your mouth
and make sure you're on the front of the mic
MXL990 isn't particularly insensitive
I do, but itās never super loud.
I havenāt tried amplifying via VAC but I wasnāt sure if I should just get a different mic.
Basically I want to be able to make comms like the guys with headset mics do, those guys never have a hard time being heard.
would you notice the performance increase from a 1660 super to a rx 6600
Hello all!
I hope there is a surround expert here. Got my setup going but seems to me somehow the bass gets lost along the way somewhere. Aside from the center all loudspeaker are able to handle the full range (amp was set to handle them as such), so im a bit of a loss. For example the scene in hellboy 2 where the elemental emerges from under the pavement i would expect some pretty heavy rumbling but i dont really feel anything.....
(no sub)
You should probably get a sub if that is what you are after
Well the two front loudspeakers have a ~25cm diameter (cone without the rubber on the outside) speaker in them so that shouldve been plenty for it......
that is not really how it works
Well based on size alone one would think it is (pringles can for size reference):
It even has a graph there showing you the bass rolling off hard after 100hz
any good boom arms on amazon for the samson q2u?
say i want to connect my yamaha psr-e473 to my iphone 13 mini, what should i use/need?
either usb or audio jacks, do i need an audio interface for the latter despite the keyboard having one already?
would be to record my busking for example if i were to do that, or any kind of portable gig featuring the keyboard
That was for the original speaker-set. Obviously the bottom one is not original, IDK about the rest (one of my relatives repairing old loudspeakers and he was the one who did the job). But if true then ill just have to live with it, no space for yet another big box.......
I know, but i also think that going from paper(/plastic) to carbon fiber will have an effect on that curve so its worth mentioning.
do you think IEMs like the Moondrop Chu2s can beat my Galaxy Buds2s ?
might buy one idk
@lean grove the arya unveiled is another side grade
I got the meze 105 with me on loan
Arya unveiled still has the normal hifiman treble peaks btw
Tho I do have to say that the arya unveiled is tame for a hifiman
The plastic build also didn't speak to me
Who could have possibly seen this coming
I'd probably take it over he1000v2 stealth for sound
Not for build and looks
The meze 105 is such an easy sell
The comfort is so nice
lmao my asymmetrical head doesn't fit the meze 105 properly
I tried a lot of different cables today
kinda weird how my forza audio cable somehow made a lot of headphones like way brighter
for no reason
DT880 with my EQ and mods is better than Meze 105
beat? depends on wdym by beat
by beat i mean sound-wise
because that's the only realm in which the moondrops have a chance
tbh
if you need wired iems
grab truthear gate
if you don't need wired, just stick to your buds 2
any good boom arms on amazon for the samson q2u?
@lean grove
i use a neewer. its cheap. i got a different desk clamp for it because the default one destroys wooden desks. you can get around that by using a couple chunks of sacraficial wood, a towel, or cardboard. something thin and tough.
if you find something that doesnt have a desk clamp that looks like this you're probably good
my pair of ath m40x's is playing left channel only audio on both sides with right channel audio sounding crunchier (same thing vice versa) are they cooked?
make sure its not the cable or your computer.
so try a different cable, and plug it into a different computer and see if the problem still persists.
Will it harm my AV receiver if I use it without any speakers connected?
Like just nothing plugged into the back?
Meze 105 is an easy recommend
It has some slight treble colorations, a bit of harshness around 4k, nothing too crazy tho.
Imagine if sennheiser just made a hd6xx with extended bass and we could just default recommend it, on god
Soes anyone have and recommendations for a wireless headset with a budget of £100
wait a month and see if Moondrop Edge is good, otherwise JBL Tune 710 or 770
is hyperx duo cast at 50$ worth it to buy?
if I were to buy the DT 770 Pros 80 ohm, would I need an audio interface?
Probably not.
ty
you only need an audio interface if you have an xlr mic
well amplifier or whatever
idk these terms

Large speaker does not automatically mean it goes BRRRRR š especially not for passive speakers. You need a sub :)
It might be passive but the loudspeaker itself is rated for 80/100W and it is hooked up to an 80w amp.
I'm not bashing passive speakers, I have a 400 watt stereo, powering 5 passive speakers, and a separate 200w amp just for my subwoofer ... I like passive speakers ...
It's just due to the nature of the technology. Active speakers can include digital equalizer from the factory to boost lacking frequencies. Passive speakers usually have rolloff by design so they don't become muddy, and there aren't really any that are suitable for home cinema without sub.
So its similar to mine (5x80W, sa-he70), minus the sub (dont have room for it).
Eh, im not a fan of the new stuff that gets produced nowadays. The relative who rebuilt the loudspeakers (HS501, HS288) i have took apart his pair of jumo and sony loudspeakers (that he bought around 2010). Thin wires inside with no proper crossover (it had a few components directly soldered onto wires but it was a far cry from the proper thing).
I have three 1980s JPW p1 up front, just because I love the sound so much ... I use one as center channel as well... (managed to buy just one, because the other in the set broke)
I would get matching rears if I could find some reasonably priced. They are getting pretty sought after. People like 'em. For good reason.
The wood enclosure was apparently built in an english prison by prisoners, they have a cool story :D
I have had friends over who appreciate sound, and it never dissapoints. I have had guesses that it cost 10x what I paid...
It's a cheap audio system, just a few hundred freedom bucks, but it sounds very clean.
They need a sub though... hard roll off at ~ 70hz...
No wonder. That bottom speaker pulls double-duty for mid and low, and it doesnt have the size to push enough air for the real lows.
For my case i think a +10 dB on the eq 60 Hz slider will do the trick.
Hi i am looking for a new headset because my old one broke.
My budget is 350 Dollars US
I will be using it for Gaming and Music.
ive been looking at making a 3.1 speaker setup to watch movies on, but im struggling a little on how to actually find stuff cos i want to do it on the cheap buying used stuff. issue being finding suitable devices is very difficult as im not an audiophile so not payed much attention to it through the years.
Seemingly the same speakers specs wise can have vastly different quality, so how do i tell the difference?
Look on eBay and see if anyone is selling them. If not, then no
hey guys, im looking for speakers of a quality of around the Elac DBR62
i dont really know much about speakeers, just know these are a fine piece of kit
anyway im just asking for other ones like it so i can just sit my ass on ebay until one goes down in price significantly and scoop it up
or if somebody could ig tell me how to identify a speaker of similar quality?
that voodoo3 2000agp atleast yes
you may get a solid $50+ from selling that card to a collector
incredibly strange update: so for over a year now my PS5 was unusable with my audio interface because there would be this horrendous ground feedback loop
i just unplugged everything in my audio interface and plugged it back in because i had to make room for a monitor arm installation
and suddenly the ground feedback loop is gone
i
don't understand.
probably wasn't a feedback loop
I'm guessing you had a cable running over a power cable and it was picking up interference
you unplugged and moved it
it was exactly that
but for some reason muting the PS5's channel stopped it before
maybe because one of the PS5's cables was touching it or something
it happens when my second monitor's power cable touches the cables of this tiny little monitor i use to display info from my PS1 CD player
hi i need new wireless headphons for my pc anybody who has experience my buget is 150
jbl tune 710/720/760/770, hd450/hd458bt, sennheiser momentum and such
or 2.4ghz?
also more like steelseries arctic
and open back is out of the questin (it is for a frien i have arctic nova pro w)
so 2.4ghz?
yes
like g435 or nova 5 or nova 7 if same price as nova 5, iād not spend more
okey
hey there, is anyone familiar with audio setups? i make youtube videos and im struggling with setting up my microphone to a audio mixer, and just tad bit little things (having my speakers working on different faders... etc)
sorry if this isn't the right place to ask :')
my headset just died on me š , any suggestions for good ones? I had the CQ bose headset. used wired one for gaming and could just use bluetooth for studying n that kinda stuff
just curious about exploring my options, but what are some good desktop speakers? preferably low-profile enough to avoid getting clipped by my monitors when i move them
How much do you want to spend
i'm mostly just curious what's on the market
idk, i guess max $300
is this a legit seller?
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqgj0f5
i find that on alibaba things tend to be legit
Just as legit as everything on that website š¤£
Itās prob not
damn
where do i get the fiio ft1s then
Wait maybe that is real
Drop sells them
That would be legit
The Ali link might be legit
theyāre the listing with the most sales so idk
reddit told me to buy them off aliexpress š¤·āāļø
crazy
aliexpress is like wholesale amazon
i would trust most things on that website
if its a name product, its usually gonna be legit
and they take returns as well
they have a returns policy like almost as good as ebay (im pretty sure, just skimmed google bc ive never needed to return anything)
just take it easy bud
So practically everything?
Check how many sales they have
80
I meant across the entire seller
Not specifically the headphones
And the seller rating
In any case its likely to be legit
99% of the stuff on amazon is just aliexpress items at a price markup lol
exactly
3000 is the last 30 days
For small speakers, iLoud micro monitors and vanatoo T0 are some of the best options.
But if you're okay with watermelon sized speakers, JBL lar305p and Kali lp6 are also very good.
seems legit
coming from someone who's dropped a few thousand on Aliexpress
seller looks good
how can i tell if i even get a fake
unless it sounds completely garbage
like iāve bought some clone airpods out of curiosity
some of them were actually decent
Best use for a old Home Cinema, only really anoying thing is the fan that turns on sometimes and it's a bit noisy, just replace it with a noctua and rocks, and cheaper than a new set of 2 small speakers !
low seller score, little sales, no reviews and the name of the product may be bait
Found this on twitch, very interesting daily show about audio and video technology
OfficeHoursGlobal
well suppose i'm looking for closed back headphones with more robust and stronger headphone slider and bracket with a removable cable
i have pair of srh8440's that ive head to repair the slider with superglue and black electrial tape
Take a look at the fiio ft-1
they look nice
literally every day on r/headphones a fiio ft1 has unscrewed itself
happened to my unit too
I already prepared the guy I sold it too
get the Beyerdynamic DT700 Pro x
They have a revision that fixes that and they're sending out free toolkits for older revisions
huh for real?
Yes.
how do I get one
Contact fiio support
do I contact fiio support directly or do I contact the retailer
Contact fiio support
huh that cheap?
plus it is rtings best upper mid range headphones
are you sure its not the 770?
oh
dt 700 pro x for 145 is a steal, it usually costs 250
its the 770 pros
oh
whats the difference
700 pro off amazon used is 179
that is still very good
I'd go german build quality over chineese any day of the week
700 pro x also sounds smoother
less fatiguing
ill get them when i can
i did them new for like 177
but yea
probably go for the 700 pro x
Alright so i just bought a new headset, and im trying to figure out why the sound quality is so bad(i use steelseries sonar as my output device). Every time i go to the "Recording" tab in windows sound control panel, the audio goes really muffled and bad.
which headset did you get?
Razer Baracuda X 2022
do you have any EQ preset selected via Steelseries Sonar?
Well i currently have steelseries off and i set the headset to the default device for my sound and its still muffled
did it ever sound not muffled?
Yeah
maybe you have some "spatial enhancement" enabled
you could try completely uninstalling Steelseries Sonar
ok
Once uninstalled the sound is great
I can imagine
it was probably "enhancing" the sound in a way that made it actually worse
alright should i redownload it now and start from scratch?
Razer has their own software
Should i use that instead?
yes
And i have a Blue Yeti Nano Microphone, do you recommend i use that as my input device or the headset mic?
And is the software called "Synapse" or "Synapse 3"
its on a boom arm
just listening to some sound tests
it sounds 20x better than whatever razer could possibly put on a headset
Haha
please don't enable any sound enhancements within the razer app
What do you recommend i do?
if you can reduce the frequencies between 5kHz and 11kHz by like 3dB that'd be great
bass already seems to be plentifull by default on the headphone so I wouldn't boost it, it would make things more muddy
saw this image on google
if it lets you, just turn 8kHz down by like 3dB
The main issue is that ppl say my keyboard is loud in the mic
I mean, doesn't discord let you adjust the sensitivity of what it picks up
I'd focus on fine tuning that
settings -> voice & video -> change input sensitivity
can you send a screenshot of the software?
should i test it out
on discord?
yes
the software in discord settings?
oh you were talking about mic sensitivity
yeah
you see this little bar jumping left to right when you type and speak
test how much it goes to the right when typing, by spamming shift for example
and just put it so that the white handle is just about outside of it
you can confirm it still picks up your speach by making sure it goes past the white handle if you talk
its peaking ast 40
the amount of decibels itself is not important
but thats with like basking my keys
put it where its good for you
noise supression is off btw
should i turn it on
turn it on
to standard or krisp
yeah
which 1
it works surprisingly well
hmm I seem to have standard on
I think it lets you test it
damn i just got a wild deal
is that a broken hinge in the top right picture lmao
gl getting a replacement for a dust cover for a vintage sony tt
yea
Dust cover is like 200
But the turntable is usually 500-700
what the fuck
why would you pay that much for a turntable
If it was a cartridge then yeah sure
And the headshell for the cartridge is worth 200 since it's specifically made for that turntable š
But its just a thing that spins a disk
Oooh
I get it then
It's a biotracer, they're very good at playing warped records
and you can get a remote for it which is nice
Even tho the remote is 300...
More clear picture
Universal remote time
Nah it uses a specific remote
Also you can probably get a dust cover custom made cheaper than buying a second hand one
uses an adapter and a wired remote
This thing is the antichrist of customer friendliness
That one also links it to the matching cassette deck
And you have to have the cassette deck to use the remote
That's another 500
I think you can make do without
Its a casette deck
gonna wait until one shows up for cheap
cassettes sound great
Thats bs
Here's another high end sony deck
Complete waste of money
they sound better than u would expect if you get a good deck
Thats more the amp and less the tape part
I enjoy cassettes
8 track is where I draw the line for tape
Sold this one awhile ago
Sony ES gear is typically pretty nice
dolby atmos is amazing and all but it sounds awful on 50 dollar headphones......
What else do you expect from 50 dollar headphones tho
theyre 550 dollars but they actually sound worse than my brothers hd280 pros
hd280 is 80 dollarydoos ! š
They sound awful on any headphones honestly
Audio Technica M40X or DT 770 Pros (80 ohm) for gaming and music
neither?
then what would be more appropriate
do you really need closed backs?
would be nice to listen to music at higher volumes at night
unless your sharing a room with someone then its really not an issue
my room is very close to where my parents sleep
you don't share a bedroom with your parents right?
no
dear they can literally hear it š
using hs80 max rn
I cant use open backs either my pc setup is at the opposite end of the house I use extreme near field setup so I donāt disturb others. I only really use headphones in the car or living room generally when others are present. My biggest issue lately is my family feels ignored. Just trying to tune out the current whatās on tv.
is bose quiet comfort a good choice for gaming and use outside of the house? I have a older pari, QC 35 I think. And they had insane audio, and worked well for both gaming and gym, studying and so on. Now im just trying to figure out if there is a clear better alternative
Quiet comfort is nice for outside of home, idk for gaming
They are quite expensive though and I think there are better options for cheaper
bluetooth has too much delay for gaming use
and the bandwidth of bluetooth is too low to reasonably use the headphones and the mic at the same time
without downsampling it to a laughable rate
not being sold here
get cloud 2
k361 mentioned for gaming
where is here
bosnia and herzegovina
also which games
rust siege cs
idk vro doesnt really matter i dont play to be insanely good
er
probably m40x is safe, though I only have half an m40x
have a whole m50x though
snapped in half?
no

I got it as for parts on ebay and tried to fix it
oh
but it wasnt the soldering so I couldnt do it
one thing with the m40x and m50x is the earpads are kinda shallow
if it ends up bothering you there are lots of 3rd party earpads
this depends mostly on the mix
chief
its just an algorithm
trying to "enhance" sound
you roll a dice and see what the AI decides to shit out
its not like regular atmos where you need to pay 15k for a speaker setup to listen to
you have 2 drivers in your headphones, cant really break the laws of physics
and itās not just an algorithm unless everything Iāve been told has been completely wrong LOL
itās Dolby Atmos for Headphones which is like a different standard or some shit
an audio format which uses phasing and funny tricks to allow for more channel placement in audio tracks
how many drivers do you have in your headphones
i am 99% sure the ai buzzword is not allowed to be taped onto atmos lol
1-6
I don't think you are getting surround sound
what
IEMs also have multiple drivers sometimes
not sure how they fit more than one in there
yeah 1 on each side
yes not 6
lmao
its literally just an algorithm baked eq filter
some group delay here and there for icing
Dolby Atmos is an immersive audio format that provides a compelling listener experience by surrounding the listener with sound. In addition to the traditional 5.1 or 7.1 surround setups, Atmos introduces height channels to enable sound from above to increase aural envelopment. These are represented by the 4 at the end of 7.1.4.
itās just more channels bro
@inner basin Atmos for headphones isn't anything special. But yeah you're right it depends on the mix on how good it's implemented.
But it doesn't really do much. It doesn't add any information.
for speakers
you cannot magically add channels to your headphones
makes some tracks super fun for me like the aforementioned kx5 album
look at the cable's jack
binaural audio processing magick
3 possible channels you can send information through
1 is the ground
so thats 2
left and right
tip is left +
middle is right +
bottom is ground
wish deadmau5 remastered old albums in atmos
realest
Tip for surround sound if youāre poor, grab a couple radios and put it in your room!
Get a crappy old one for bass and some off of Amazon for mid to high
I plan on using a cord
since
my motherboard doesnt support bluetooth anyways
Or a z506 can probs be had for pennies now
I actually havent listened to logitech speakers in a while, I have a set of z533s set up out in the garage, they sounded better to little me many years ago than they do now lol
Very good subwoofer though volume wise
Not much in the way of detail tho...
I keep debating a set of 305p mk2s for my desk then remember I dont have the room for them š
is that titan 7.1 headset
im pretty sure thats not real surrond sound
look how many ears are used when listening to 7.1 speakers
its entirely possible to simulate this on headphones
our ears coincidentally work different than a microphone
and receive sounds from like 360 different angles
these channels are real on the pc and allows 7.1 audio to be streamed, but through a renderer that simulates 7 point sources in 3d space within stereo
not to mention our ears aren't the only places we react to sound from
what does that mean
your entire body can react to vibrations
not every frequency but particularly bass
Your head shakes, your body shakes and you notice it
This is the reason most people in the speaker community often say "speakers are a full body experience" as opposed to headphones strictly stimulating your ears
And what is atmos meant for
surround speaker systems lmao
and atmosā¢ļø sound which is a fancy delay filter on top of an audio track
"dolby atmos for headphones" is the product name
within dolby access
and its exactly what I said
this is not misuse of the software becayse it wont work for speakers
fancy filters
yeah
chief like
the realistic version of atmos is for speaker systems
other version is a glorified filter
im not sure what there is to debate
it works
works 100% of the time 30% of the time
more often than not its like a subpar version of running izotope ozone on automatic present lmao
it simulates 7.1 in a way that severely increases someones sense of direction and to some extent distance
Have there any worth while PC headsets to look out for from this year's CES? I've been shopping around lately for like $200.
not a property of traditional stereo audio
Doesn't do this
Like I said bro
Direction isnt exclusive to your ears
You catch directional information regarding sounds on only higher frequencies
What about subs
Impossible to replicate
Even low mids
Group delay isn't omnipotent either
these are identified by coexisting with upper mids and treble
How come you use different headphones and they have wildy varying degrees of being able to replicate the delay in measurement
Pardon what are these
if i out a subwoofer on the floor I can feel it up to my crotch
bass and low mids
I cant on a headphone
What kinda fkin headphones can vibrate your entire body
Skullcrushers?
the floor vibrating is an interesting point in terms of sense of direction
No not the floor
We are talking about atmos
Ceiling, floor
Back
Left right
All these can produce most frequencies
Subs are more omnidirectional but go higher to mids and they are going to be perceived different
like its not sound at that point and the only information is "down" because of the gradient in forces from the feet to the waist, but that observation will still usually be accurate to jydge that the sub is somewhere on the floor
Yes?
Im not sure what the counterpoint is
If its on the floor you perceive it from the floor
If its on the ceiling you perceive it from there
so is it ok to use the bose headset, for gaming if I juse a cord, to make a connection? THat is what I have been doing
Which bose

damn that link
is long
mb
all good g, take your time
I'd leave it at "its ok" honestly
Nothing outstanding nothing straight up unusable either
and I couldn't really recommend something over it either, foreign market to me
ok I see
Seems like you have something on your mind. What would be dthe difference between this headset im planning to buy, and a "gaming headset"?
gaming headsets are kind of a meme too
XD
normally you get uhh
""music"" headphones
"""""audiophile""""" headphones
and complain how other headphones arent like those
haha
but you want a use case of both outdoors and indoors
which is like, not really fitting to compare to the music headphones category
and the qc isnt really bad enough to complain
well i find headsets to be quite expensive, not that I dont have the money for it. But I just look at it at a value perspective
yeah I get you
you wouldn't really get something strictly better in terms of the gaming space
might for audiophile space but that would be exclusive to indoors so not really comparable
yeah I used to have the zenheiser, something something. I think that is what it is called
idk qc fits both of the shoes you have so not a bad investment despite not being outstanding for indoors
yeah, ill get it then. Cause I noticed a huge difference between the bose I have now, an then my sisters, it had no base, it was a B&O
think it was rougly the same, Bose might have been cheaper tbh.
but for, indoors would you recommend a sennsheiser?
its like
most headphone companies have like
3-4 headphones worth buying
and 20 shit ones
sennheiser is also like that
there are 2-3 headphones id recommend from them but the brand is overall kinda shit
6xx is okay ig
hd560s too
Bought em a while ago, when i was a wee little kid. Back when Ninja played with em
lol
well not little XD
but like 13 I think
here comes a big link again. I had these
Oooh
dude I had senheiser iems
and these were the indoor headphones I had
there was the correction
for a kid dt990 arent the worst
they are better than gaming headphones but thats a pretty low bar
dont think you had it bad
nah I was chilling
yeah those are pretty ok
But if you had to get a gaming headset, what would you get?
literally broke my eims cause I kept walking away with them in my ears. They had like 50cm cord or something XD
I have the QC45 and I can recommend them, theyre really good and the ANC is awesome
theyre no longer manufactured and thats why the prices for new ones are pretty high. probably remaining stock or sth which gets sold for way too high prices
probably theres a newer "generation" of QC model available already, I bought them early 2023
what do you think about the arctis nova 5/7ās and g435 if someone needs 2.4ghz
under ā¬100, are they bad or garbage in your eyes
yes
there is a lot more to hrtf than eq. differences in eq, differences in phase and longer delays, differences in volume
plus other things that serve as icing, but to some extent are very complex modeling like the behavior of a real room
someone saying it's just eq is like saying a popular singer's voice is eq
how the hell could it ever be eq
i dont understand that lol
where that comes from
i've only watched 1 video on hrtf so i dont remember a lot about it
the direction and distance a sound hits someone's ears from results in many changes. if we look at just one ear and ignore a bunch of other phenomenon, one of those is the tone of the sound
thats true
lots of people hate atmos just cuz it's "quieter"
its funny
just turn yo headphones up its not that hard
that'd be difficult for someone running a 250r beyer off of a dongle though
i wanna try atmos on my car system when its done
true
only annoying thing is the fact that apple like locked out dolby atmos on carplay??? fucking hate apple sometimes bro
it worked on my crappy factory radio LOL
Does anyone have any recommendations on headsets? My old one is slowing falling apart and Iām looking for a new one. I was looking at the G735 but it has some mixed reviews
Yeah im a little lost on what to buy, cause I dont know what the newest model is, and weather its good or something like that.
Linkbuds S for 30⬠or Buds2 for 30
Ecosystem doesnt make a difference cause i use a oneplus
was told to come here, #1327675607814766724 message
use a mixer
how would this help? and how to implement it
dont just join the outputs of 2 different analog items
you are going to cook one of the amplifiers
you plug in the switch to an input
you plug in the pc to another input
you plug headphones to output
so my switch is pluggged via 3.5mm jack, line-in to my pc, my headphones hear the audio from both my switch and windows
thats my current setup
my bad
still your line in isn't designed for that, a mixer would help
you are double amping the audio essentially
lowering the volume of the switch could help
lowering the volume of anything makes it impossible to hear my switch's audio
there is buzzing from the ac-in cable
but im not sure how to avoid that as the switch doesn't display from the dock without it being plugged in, with the official nintendo plug
the hdmi is fine but then if i use the hdmi alone as the sound from my switch, there is no way of getting that to my headphones as my headphones r bluetooth and the sound into my monitor is hardware side
you dont have this static when you plug in your headphone directly to the switch right
Are there any gains with messing with the equalizer that is built into android?
no its pretty bad
i know for a fact its the ac-in to the switch's dock
the 3.5mm cable is plenty fine, all of my setup is plugged into a mains purifier
mate
just answer please
what happens if you plug in the ac to your switch
and headphones to the switch
do you still have the static
I was using JamesDSP but that was waay too much much lol
my headphones r bluetooth, i cant wire them to my switch
try another pair
something to test with
your phone's earbuds or something if you have any
brb gonna have to hunt down something with a 3.5mm jack on it, almost our entire headphone/earphone collection is either wireless or doesnt have a 3.5mm jack
found something, can confirm headphones direct to switch there is no buzzing
yeah
issue is double amping
a mixer would very likely solve this
or introducing impedance to the input of your line in maybe
Okay what mixer?
And how will it help? Sorry Iām unfamiliar with audio tech
its not, the link is misleading
oh
it was that massive link but idk how to shorten that one
there are two different products in that picture
one of them would do it
other wouldn't
but how sure are you that a mixer would even work, as the noise seems to only be there when the ac-in for the switch's dock, i.e. what keeps the switch charged
what does a mixer need to be able to do to achieve what you're suggesting as my dad may have something
because there is like 9 kilo ohm input resistance on those
there is like maybe 1/1000 of that on your motherboard line in
those aren't meant to receive amplified signals
and the mixer would...
so the line-in port on my mobo would be able to handle it better so there would be no buzzing but the raw audio from the switch would still be there
you said your headphone doesnt buzz with the ac plugged in
that only leaves out a mismatch between your motherboard input and the switch output
for your noise issue
Which one of those would btw, u didnāt clarify
in your switch
and in your motherboard
one is meant to receive an unamplified signal
oen is meant to output an amplified signal
Iām assuming that canāt be done software side
no
Is a mixer the way to āun ampā or āde ampā it then (sorry if Iām being difficult Iām tryna get my head around this)
its a chip in your motherboard
So the mixer would plug in where?
output of switch
to mixers input
output of your computer
to mixers other input
output of mixer to your headphones/speakers
oh wait
Itās Bluetooth headphones
you have bluetooth
Yeah
there are solutions to that but it may be stupid
Go on
its too expensive
to be rational
im trying to think of a way
a usb mixer may be able to do it ig
or actually
maybe you can get an usb c to 3.5 dongle
While still having my switch output its display via the docks hdmi out?
i dont know
thats a switch question
I cant think of a way you could do this
maybe an audio interface would work
So the usb c into my pc for the audio?
a behringer um2
Ik itās very complicated š
you could get a behringer um2
connect it to your pc
hope that one of the inputs wont have a buzzing issue
then use voicemeeter banana to output that to your headphones with bluetooth
That doesnāt sound foolproof
I feel like something could go wrong
Especially āhope that one of the inputs doesnāt buzzā
you could just return it
I hear a lot abt this app, could it just fix the buzzing on its own
no
Iām tryna get a new headset, any recommendations?
Would this still play windows sounds through my headphones
Iām tryna mush 2 outputs to my Bluetooth headphones which apparently is much easier said than done š
divine punishment for being a wireless user
audeze maxwell
I donāt have a fortune lol
Apparently
Well ur gonna hate me if u find out what headphones im using
U didnāt specify a budget š¤·āāļø
Like 200 CAD
i mean you didnt tell us
Fair
how much is 200 cad in usd
138usd
What
just because i've got a weird body to leg length ratio doesnt mean im "built different" im just harder to knock over
š
anyways. has the pc38x been recommended yet
classic technique
This is kinda strange
just get the pc38x
this isnt an advice anymore its a threat
provided you dont share your room with anyone
because pc38x leaks
400 dollars is wild

Isnāt it this
yes
if i sell my ps4 for 50000 dollars
does that make ps4 50000 dollars
look for another seller
@lean grove did pc38x stop getting produced or what
see how much pc37x costs
i eventually came to the conclusion of the linkbuds s, mainly because the fit seems to be very good and they dont fall out
addicted
gonna buy this too
tf is the dawn pro
mini usb dac
rn i just use the apple usb c adapter, but i have to use the uapp trick to get an actual volume out of it on my phone
and i have the m40x....
could get a cx dongle
i think it does?
What are thoughts on the G735
bad
and a usb c - type a adapter so i can use it in my pc!
50⬠new, 27⬠used
reviews seem really good too
has a 4.4 output if i ever need it
its just inherently not good
gaming headsets arent the best, and logitech ones are one of the worst ones
if you really want a wireless gaming headset, then the cloud alphas should be good
nvm
not worth lmao
cx also comes with a usb A adapter
What headset SHOULD I buy
you are certain there is no pc38x for a normal price right
cloud 2
doesnt have nearly as much power tho
fair
though i use the m40x and its 35 ohms lol
Hyper X?
yes
The goal of this video isn't to provide in-depth coverage on any specific product, nor is it a ploy to get you to buy new stuff!
