the zero reds aren't as resolving and the bass is tighter on the kz's
kz's have far more microdetail
treble screwiness is about even and depends on the song
zero reds strike back with a bit of soundstage and partial imaging
but the midrange on the zero reds is ass
not dynamic, not detailed, not natural
Sooooo dynamic to you is bass that bleeds into the mids?
bass isn't tighter on the ZS10 Pro, it's louder
it also has more peaky treble which can create pseudodetail, not detail itself
ZS10 Pro is literally just vshaped
If you like the ZS10 pro's bass, consider trying out the Blon Z300
zero red isn't exactly smooth either in the treble, or perhaps the timbre just sucks
the zero reds are relatively tight but it's still overdone
tightness here probably comes down to better drivers
as for microdetail, thats got no association with peaks here. it's just an absurdly large difference
I notice the most new sounds in music on them compared to all other headphones and earbuds I've ever used. more than my adam monitors, more than hd600, more than mc450, more than edition xs, and more than ndh20. of course, those sounds are very degraded
maybe it stems from the large difference in sensitivity
That's a product of tuning, not of the driver.
Hey ya'll, had a quick question I am looking for a good set of speakers for a basement house party I currently have speakers, but they are a bit too loud/big for smaller venues I have a being 15 inches per and 400-watt rms lol, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a small speaker that can still be heard over a small crowd.
How much do you wanna spend
so, im looking at putting one of these under my monitors, facing me... either will fit, and either will be a huge upgrade to the creative pebbles i have now... is the £20 price difference, worth the sound difference between these? or, will they sound more or less the same https://www.amazon.co.uk/AZATOM-M3-Bookshelf-Bluetooth-Enclosure/dp/B0DCVTMDSL https://www.amazon.co.uk/AZATOM-EB100-Bookshelf-Acoustics-Enclosure/dp/B098TNS13Y
@lean grove the SMSL D6S dac is legitemately better than my ifi zen dac signature v2
for 2/3rd the price
SMSL is cooking with their dacs
some stuff that was a touch sibilant is no longer sibilant
everything stages bigger too
on the ifi dac everything sounded a bit more rounded/focused instead of spread out wider
Get the vmv d1se
im broke after getting these speakers
Its got terrible feet that will ruin your desk
Oh shoot I just found an Amazon review of someone's who actually broke broke
fatality
Random question, but usually on which connector does the Subwoofer goes to?
Also, would a simple audio wired speaker set connect to this (at least temporarily)
Nvm figured out 🙂
definitely not the place that says subwoofer out
I know you have figured it out, but just to answer part of you question:
Sony active subs (well the ones I have), have terminals with an input and output, where you connect you two fronts to your sub, then use another set of cables out to the speakers. This is usually if your amp does not have a line-out. Otherwise for best performance and sound adjustment, using the line-out on the amp to your subwoofer is the best option. Also it extends the cable length, and your sub taking part of the power to the speakers for audio input. The cable needed for line-out is the RCA style cable, only needing one channel. This will connect to where the subwoofer out is on your amp, if it has one. Some amplifiers like yours and mine, have the options for 2 subs using line input.
Is this information helpful?
Absolutely you have been probably the most helpful on this server
Hi, is the nothing ear (a) the best for its price? I'm currently using the nothing phone 2a that's why I'm leaning towards its buds.
Before this I owned a pair of moondrop nekocakes but I lost them recently, so I'm looking for a better replacement rn
guys i have headphones with have ubc c charging but the tech sheet says "Power Supply: 5V 1A" but i only have 5V 2A charger (it didnt come with charger in the box) would it be okay to charge it with 5V 2A one?
unless someone wants to correct me, it would be fine, your powersupply will only supply what is asked for by the device it is powering, so if you have headphones that want 5v 1a, your power supply will only provide 5v 1a even if it is 5v 2a or even 5v 100a
Amplifiers I ordered have 26 years worth of filth in them lol
I wonder where these things were previously to get this bad
Found these at the recycling centre for 12 euros each
Akg k280
Akg k240 anniversary edition
I am very much not an audiophile
They sound good I guess so it's good deal imo
Thoughts?
As long as the voltage is the same, you shouldn't have any problems using a charger rated higher for current.
ended up buying these... https://www.amazon.co.uk/AZATOM-EB100-Bookshelf-Acoustics-Enclosure/dp/B098TNS13Y?th=1 got them today... plugged in the power, went to plug in the RCA to the computer, and my fingers felt.. tingly... noticible current coming OUT of the 3.5mm end of the 3.5mm to RCA... from the speakers... plugged into an old ipod to test... immediate very loud buzz coming from the speakers.. plugged it into the old laptop to test if it was just the ipod.. same loud buzz
assuming they are faulty if they are sending current back down to the RCA TO the device
Based response
My car supports MP3 and aac only. I have my music collection as flac. Storage space isn't the issue, but I prefer it not to sound shit in my car. Should I do MP3 320 or do something else with aac? Not jumped into any audio stuff since the winamp days. So I'm super rusty
They're effectively the same
just stick with MP3, realistically.
thats dusty, probably sitting in a garage or something like that
looks like it
an air duster will help take the dust out, some contact cleaner for the circut boards
yeah no problem, let me know if you got any more questions
Seems to be working fine with the dust still inside
Might leave it as is to save making a mess
@lean grove apparently the default smsl d6s filter smooths treble
Which one? Slow rolloff?
Doesn't that also depend on your sample rate
it has these:
F-1:Minimum phase
F-2:Linear phase apodizing fast roll-off
F-3:Linear phase fast roll-off
F-4:Linear phase fast roll-off low ripple
F-5:Linear phase slow roll-off
F-6:Minimum phase fast roll-off
F-7:Minimum phase slow roll-off low dispersion
Assuming the filters are the same as this one
Yeah a few DB at 44.1
Keep windows at 48 and you should be fine
Or just use a different filter
apodizing filters have no pre-ringing
its a different way to reconstruct the signal than the time domain sinc function filters
Apodizing filter does not automatically mean, short with slow roll-off. Apodizing filters (in the sense of removing aliasing artifacts right at the edge of audible spectra) can be linear, or long and sharp too.
Apodizing filter is in many cases a better option for music that isn't recorded as wel
My boom arm for my mic that I've had for a few years is having some issues.
These little metal clips around this metal rod are deforming and sometimes the metal rod will fall out if jostled too hard.
What are these clips called? Trying to see if I can just replace these
What is the arm
is there a decent list for iems at every price?
I couldn't tell you the exact arm, It was a gift over 5 years ago.
However, it seems very common while searching. It is very very very close to this: https://www.amazon.sg/Mic-Arm-HyperX-DuoCast-Microphone/dp/B0BZ7FBKZV?th=1
super cool to see dual drivers like that
I got a beat up k240 sextett around here somewhere, but there's only 1 real driver
the 6 other drivers are passive radiators
https://squig.link/list/
super review has one
crinacle has another one, but each reviewer's personal taste in iem tuning affect the tuning somewhat so keep that in mind
that's a really stupid list
probably not, because sound devices in general are a lot more complicated than "oh sound signature, woah frequency response"
you can pick something neutral bright and expect it to sound clear in rock music, and instead it sounds like a melded together pile of shit
because they ignored the basics of detail retrieval
well yea that’s why i want a list to give me a good one, not a bad one
i’m not gonna buy any i just wanted to learn more
no, because the same iems could sound like $300 headphones in jazz music
there is a swap in the kind of demands those genres often place on a sound device
well, calmer jazz
i mean every list has said what type of audio it outputs
or wtv
warm
neutral
yknow
so i’d go off of that
nope, that's not the sound, just the tone
the easy thing to pick on here is instrument separation
yea that’s what i mean
it's a property entirely separate and not dictated by tone that determines how a sound device handles overlapping sounds
more overlappy music has a tendency to create less clarity than expected on a low instrument separation headphone/iem
but there are many more factors and variables, and not just for detail retrieval
well i’d assume the 5 star ones are atleast good at something 😭
overall realism, impact and snap, airyness
no!
I mean technically... sure there's always a random niche scenario where it may outperform something else
because of how many variables there are
but audio products popular across various known audiophile reviewers are often recommended solely out of tone
see evil
it's actually somewhat uncommon for them to remark on other properties of sound
this is how musicians end up with k361's
how rap enjoyers end up with ksc75's
how apex legends players end up with he400se
and since these people rarely have the chance to compare these to other things for their use cases, they can't fight back
I have never gotten a rave-review audiophile headphone that lived up to even half it's hype in quantifiable ways for what it's suggested to be used for
and I have all of them under $200 except the ft1
Hello!
There's a streaming service in my country known as JioCinema, they are heavily criticized for their absurd quality.
One funny thing that happens in when we choose 1080p the audio quality drops, and gets so annoying to watch.
I looked into the media player logs from developer tools on chrome and noticed the sample rate to change from 48000Hz to 16000Hz
I'm not very familiar with audio tech, but could it be this sample rate that's causing the bad audio?
yes
that's 8khz of actual audio bandwidth, and probably full of aliasing and digital artifacts
I hope this is not their way of reducing bandwidth costs. Reported it to the support team for getting it fixed
so, these new speakers i have, had made everything sound... odd... i dont know if its because they are shit.. or if this is just how proper things are supposed to sound... they have a frequency response range of 40hz to 20khz... and my old ones were 100Hz to 17KHz... is it just that im now hearing things that the old speakers didnt produce?
its hard to describe the difference, voices sound slightly, echo-y, but i dont know if its that im just hearing more of the voice, and i was missing that sound before
This is just a risk you run when you buy cheap crap thats not even been measured
where did i mention what it was that i bought?
here
and if you scroll down a little more, you will see that i said they almost blew up my motherboard, because they were spitting voltage OUT of the RCA... and i sent them back
i replaced them with Edifier R1280T
the edifier sound... very different... to the cheapo creative pebble v2 that i had, and as i said about those, they were there to output any audio at all, when i needed a loud speaker, and they did their job
so as i said, i dont know if this is how stuff was supposed to sound all along, but its sounded "muted" on the cheapo creative speakers.. or... if there is something wrong with these speakers
you're probably just used to the pebbles being lofi but who knows? I can't hear the edifiers 🤷♂️
anyone know any headsets wired for around 50$ that are good quality for music mostly and bit of gaming?
Iems probably
If the cables are all still intact it's easier, but still a pain to fix.
And probably not without tools.
which ones
There are so many 😅
Personally I don't have any recommendations for that price range. But someone here probably does.
There are quite a few choices at that price range you should do your own research and see what suits you
Would these 2 work together? https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B0006H92QK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&th=1 https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B0CFKHCQ8W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A2P4HAJFBSBQMN&th=1
thrusthear zero red
i was looking at Superlux HD-660 Pro they were quite cheap looked nice but dk
It's just that I've never personally had any in that price range so I didn't want to reccomend anything that I'm not 100% sure of.
But I've heard it's pretty good for the price
anyone?
hahha its fine
So, what do you want to work together?? Because the 2 links are the same mic.
Or did I miss something
Np
with this arm
It should work together yes.
Audio technica has their own arms, but pretty much all their mics come with adapters for normal arms.
Also, you did pick out a good mic.
Depending on what you want to do with it anyway.
Mix of gaming and productoin hahahha
It's best for singing, but it does work fine for those purposes too.
Audio technica is a good brand
Especially in that price range
But they do also have some very expensive mics haha
Me and my friends make some rap songs on the side but gaming is the most common thing it will be used for
yeah im aware hahahha
And they're very good, i know from experience, but those are really only for 100% proffesional work.
For gaming and a bit of production that one is fine.
I was in a studio once with this big artist from my country and the mic was like 2k euros or something
there really is levels to it
Oh yeah, I work with mics in that range quite a bit.
Clarification, I'm an audio engineer
Mind if I add you as a friend if I need some suggestoins with audio stuff 😂
Don't have my own studio, but i do sometimes work in studios and do mostly live stuff.
What kind of work do you do in that industry?
Sure.
Pretty much everything to do with audio on the music side. But mainly live mixing and etc
But I also do production
Repairs too. And i rent equipment to people.
Yes, i absolutely love it.
The most annoying thing is the hours, but i love it so it's fine.
The hours are never the same, and sometimes very weird hours.
I have times where I work through the entire night
Anyway, feel free to dm me for recommendations.
When you work in the night is that on concerts or clubs, or you record songs with artists?
That's pretty much only concerts.
Especially festivals
Because I also work with the crews that build it and break it down again.
hahahha funny at 15 i was helping these crews in my city
i actually found the work to be pretty easy but the other people were a bt wierd tbh they didn't joke around or anything they just smoked and did their job
Same here, while I don't do everything they do, I focus on just the audio now.
But I used to do everything when I started.
But that was more as stagehand.
🙂
thoughts on the hyperx procast xlr?
any audiphiles have reccomendation for a dac, was looking to get the mojo 2, but i don't care about the portability, is there a better one for around the same price that's better? I'm not even sure what i'm looking for, but I happenef to listen to these headphones on a mojo 2 with thre crossfeed enabled and it sounded so nice, any reccomendations?
played one of the frequency response tests, to test if the speakers i got actually play all the frequencies they claim to do... completely forgot that im almost in my 40s... and it doesnt matter if they can play the frequencies... i cant hear them 😄
my hearing cuts out around 11khz... my wife can hear to about 11.5khz, my 12yo's hearing cuts out around 17khz, my 7yo can hear tones at 19khz...
my mate, who is a couple of years older than me, and has played in a band for 25 years, and they dont use monitors, they just use amps facing them... did the same test and stops hearing around 8khz 😄
11KHz seems pretty low for your age
(he once came home from playing a gig and noticed that his ears had been bleeding)
you know those volume limiting settings in ipods can you can disable? i always disabled them... you know those HUGE speakers/amps you have at rock concerts? i stand next to them.. 😄
I do the same. Maybe something I should cut out, lol
I do wear hearing protection at concerts now at least
Brings it from about 110 decibels down to about 85 which is the threshold of hearing damage over extended periods I think
i have mild tinitus too, when its quiet, i hear ringing all the time
really blown my hearing up going to various rock/punk rock bands in the late 90s, and 2000s
I have that as well. I keep a network switch running next to me to drown it out.
i dont know how... at all, its really odd... but my wh1000xm4's, with full noise cancelling on.. make a lot of it go away... it must be an artefact of the cancellation algorithm or something... which is why i spend a lot of my work day with them on, even if im not listening to anything
Interesting. Maybe the ANC is loud enough to drown it out
I think it uses two directly opposing frequencies
Or just plays the exact opposite of your surroundings
so i think ive worked it out... its exposing youtubers who dont fix their audio in post.. a lot of vlog style youtubers i watch, have a distinct echo-y sound to them now, which im guessing the pebbles, lost, because of their lower range/shitter quality... but these new speakers are showing that up... because videos such as LTT and other "well produced" videos where they have actual audio engineers working on making the audio sound right... it doesnt show up
so it doesnt seem to be a problem with the speakers, its just showing up problems in peoples recording equipment that i would never have noticed before now
mind your speaker placement
they are currently closer than i would like them, but, i did a "fake it" test, by moving my head closer to them, to mimic them being further a part, and was still picking up the same issues (the closeness is being resolved during the week when i build a shelf into the desk to mount them on
I mean like their distance to the wall
direction they are pointing at
their angle
etc
ah, there is no wall behind them at all... there is a double glazed window behind them, but... thats about 1ft behind them.. currently angled towards my head, pointing slightly inwards and slightly upwards from where they are sat... when they are in their final resting place, slightly inwards and slightly down, pointing at my head
im done with smsl dacs
holy shit
the detail is just somehow gone
nothing I played with this dac sounds bad, like there is no complaining even with bad recordings
but you don't get rewarded either
Sony da30es
For some reason I have stupidly low subwoofer output
The mackie m1400i can’t even detect it as a signal…
what kind of music
also did it need a mic? things like the superlux don't have mics
are you able to record the audio of it with your phone mic?
the edifiers
yall got any solutions i want my subwoofer to sound more lively like feel it more i reently got a bigger room and i re hooked everything up but i feel like it just doesent have that mutch power as it used to
loose lead or wrong setting?
idek tbh
try fiddeling with the cable
i think somthing is wrong in my amp or reciever cuz its only the low level output that is super low volume
you could always use the jank way i do it
how is that?
have the sub bypass the amp i have the sub hooked to tape 2 REC as i dont have a subwoofer connection
control the speakers by just ajusting the amp volume and the sub by ajusting the input volume
for the amp i mean
used to be super loud now its just a slight hum even at 30hz test tone
i think my biggest issue is my amp wants to see a super higher volume input
everythings shaking for mee too lmao
i need to see your setup
why
cuz me want to see lo l
its not anything special
mind pining me so i can find the cannel on my phone?
no sub?
nice setup
its decent
when i turned stupid and moved into my garage for my pc...
i AM in the garage
lmao
i take upmost care of my audio equiment
need more bass
you always need more bass
that doesnt sound healthy
super healthy
your neighbours bust love you
totally not almost tripping my 15 amp 120 volt breaker
they do
they dont really bother me
i pretty much only play doing the times they are at work
i dont have that issue
entire shed is buitl\ out of 20 ish cm insulating pannels
you cant hear shit from the outside
i have a really bang for you buck setup now that i think about it
kenwood kr-a4050 with a set of siemens RL 170 G4 and a Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS SE subwoofer
`
guys im getting a new mic, which is better a quadcast 2 or an AT2040 usb?
just anything good for music tbh i dont really need a mic since i have a seperate one anything wired good for pc gaming and music but specifcally looking at music
i seen them superluxs for cheap but not too sure if they are good or if there is any other better ones out there
they look hella comfy aswell
it's not possible for me to narrow anything down from "good for music", and even then it leans on my own preferences and not yours in order to make a guess
the superfun drivers in a lot of the superlux headphones and samson sr850 are decently technical for $40, maybe similar to a bootleg dt990
they have actually detailed and somewhat tight bass unlike koss stuff, and they have more fine detail
survivor - eye of the tiger is a good example of music that works really well on them
not busy enough to overwhelm the driver like most of rock music
doesn't need infinite resolution or anything but should have air
they will not sound as realistic as a ksc75 with real life instruments
most importantly I would suggest you get different earpads, probably one of the pairs that I have since I can create eq's for them, and then eq the crap out of them
if you wanted superior resolution and able to handle busy music with high clarity, there are other headphones
ksc75x
it has a mic
hmm would u count them superluxs good then for general then
im more looking for a headset
they need eq
u can buy a parts express headband
for ksc75x
it snaps on perfectly
hmm
but in general tho would they be fine for gaming or music comfort wise or is ther ebetter options like the ksc75x or more
music and gaming, need eq
the treble is very peaky
alternative for ksc75? its like 199 usd
ah anything else u suggest other than ksc75x that is like a headset
yea ive seen those but they kinda out of my budget 😭
eq a superlux
then
if u dont want a ksc75
which one do you suggest then 50-100$ budgety
ksc75
as u can see
the headphone market is very shit
yes
yea dont need a mic which one is the extension u was on ab
^
throw out the speakers
take the clips off of ksc75
and then clip ksc75 onto the headband
ah ill take a look into it ty what current headphones do u use
hd600, ksc75, Nightjar Singularity, Truthear Hola
ah and for the headphones wise ones the best ones are these yea?
but budget wise ksc75s
for me, hd6x0 is my fav headphone
everything else was a let down
hd600? or is hd6x0 a complete different
6x0 series = 600, 650, 6xx, 580
every 6x0 series headphone is a sidegrade to one another
ah
is this the only site to buy those or is there another
hd6xx is basically a repainted hd650
drop.com is the only place that sells 6xx
is it american?
drop.com is an american website
yea since shipping to the eu will be pain in the ass w the customs and shit
compare the prices of importing a 6xx with buying a hd600 or 650 locally
(they dont include tax on drop.com site)
the hd600 650 ones cost way more tf thats js so much for a pair of headphones 😭
I'm gonna estimate price of 6xx for u
(gonna assume ur tax is 20%)
224.30 euros
if u import 6xx
fucking ehll
yea no that way out of budget 😭
i just want some cheap good headphones tbh
sure ill have them in mind never tried ear ones ygm so idk if ill like them or not but thanks for the help
np
their budget is 50 usd
Hey, I’m looking for some over/on ear headphones currently and just wondering if anyone’s got any suggestions? I’ve had a brief look at Marshall, Sony, Bose & Sennheiser with best bets currently the Bose QuietComfort Ultra or Sony WH-1000XM5. I currently have the AirPods Pro 2 so looking for something with similar (or better) capabilities for battery & noise cancellation (mainly this)
There are some others I'd argue are part of that same family tbh
@molten lotus what are you looking for exactly?
Cause the recommendation jumped from like ksc75 to superkux to 6xx which are all super different
If you're looking for something ultra budget you're probably gonna be stuck with the used market or koss tbh for decent stuff
The reason why I listed those ones in particular is as they all use the same driver design (minisys/KDH 580 platform)
660s and newer ones use a modified hd700 driver design(SYS platform)
While still using still using basically the same foam(other than 490 pro), which causes a muffled upper midrange and doesnt offer anything else special tonally in a different region
No, I mean like hd535 and such
more for a headset
tbh js 50$-70$
try to find a used pc37x or used hd560s
bet ty
he400se from aliexpress can be gotten for ~$60-70 if that’s ok
otherwise kph30i, kph40x, ksc75, hd681
yea ill take a look at it but i might get them hd560s
thank you sm tho
i thought you wanted cheap headphones
sure
btw check used hd560s
may get them decently cheap
yea but looking at it now i think is better to put in few more to get like decent ones
then budget ones
wouldnt brand new ones be better? or is there other headphones around that budget that are better
or compare
idk
yea ill prob get 560s and ill take a look on the ones you said fs and ill decide since with it being used and from ebay i never know if i can get some ripoff shit
hey y’all got a question, im trying to find a new drive belt for my car radio’s cassette player but im trying to find a 410mm belt, but the biggest ive found thus far is more around 170mm , anyone got any tips or pointers where i could look?
alr i can't trust youtubers about audio tech, best headset for games and music (very loud very extreme tekk music) ?
150 euro absolute maximum
it doesnt need a micro phone, yes i have an audio interface that has a headset mini jack port.
Guys so quick question me and my dad both play games in the same room like right next to each other but if both our mics are unmuted we get really bad echo what can we do/buy to fix that
We would like to both be unmuted at the same time
closed or open
idm any
do u need isolation
wdym
It gets tedious him telling me to mute so he can talk then me telling him to mute so I can talk
open = everyone can hear ur music
closed = people probably cant hear ur music
closed 💀
fiio ft1
arent open better quality
open are more well tuned
but everyone can hear ur music
and u will hear ur environment
very clearly
tbh i don't need open, i listen too loud anyway
rn i'm using thruthear red zero iems and the ear silicone things that fit me are dead
wym dead
it's coming out lose in my ear when i remove them
buy new eartips
ye buy aftermarket eartips
i'll do yeah but i need to make sure they fit me tho
eartip manufacturers provide measurements of each of their sizes
just get the measurements for ur eartips and compare
hmmmm
do you have any recommendations for that
i do get very annoying spots in my ears if i don't clean my eartips properly and stuff, worried i'll get issues you know
with chinese cheap ah silicone
dunu s&s, spinfit w1
do you know these stuffs by heart wow
I own a couple headphones and iems
so did test out some eartips
have you tried those memory foams ones
dont get those
they degrade in months
my silicon tips are still very nice after 2 years
i got a pair right there
if u want foam tips, buy a lot of pairs
i'll give it a shot since i can only use one earphone or else i get extremely triggered by discomfort from the miss fit of the silicone eartip i have on the other
a lot of aftermarket eartips use softer silicon
compared to many stock tips
do i like press it down, insert and let it expand ?
silicon? u just shove it into ur ear
nah foam
I still just shove it in my ear
zero red nozzle is thick and long
9/10 comfort when i like roll press with my fingers it fits
one thing im scared of losing if i get a headset is the feel of kicks in my ears
the kind of shit i listen to :https://soundcloud.com/xn88ax/paranoid-ft-yuki?in=evan66-513552331/sets/stream&si=89d45a43f85e47dbb9527d933d0c969c&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
that's why i really don't wanna lose that
they're my first iems so i got no baseline
is zero red large for u
do u use zero red with the impedance adaptor
i had to use at first the very thinnest silicone eartips then i could use the smallest thick one
yes
just ensure u have the deepest fit possible
my ears are probably too damaged for me to notice the difference ngl
ok nvm without the impedance plug the kicks are better but i got a buzzing
what buzzing
do u own a dongle
get a dongle
but i really like my little potentiometer for the volume 🥹
but u have buzz
not with impedance plug !
my pc is also next to a powerful router and shit
that doesnt cause the buzz
a lot of desktop amps and most pcs have noise floor
iems are more sensitive to noise floor than headphones
cuz their impedance is low
the price tradeoff seems less attracting now ngl
reason why u dont have buzz with impedance plug, cuz ur increasing ur impedance
btw the fiio FT1 are at 170
ye tax
with tax is way over budget
i need those kinda quick so i can't really save, wanna have a pause away from the red zeros
k361, but the build is not very good
Alr I'll sell shits then lol
I think I got a rx580 laying around
Guys so quick question me and my dad both play games in the same room like right next to each other but if both our mics are unmuted we get really bad echo what can we do/buy to fix that
We would like to both be unmuted at the same time
It gets tedious him telling me to mute so he can talk then me telling him to mute so I can talk
Very bright in comparison to the Reds
but it's like, the only other option
also comes with worse instrument separation than $25 earbuds

tekk music is a lot like phonk though in terms of bad(tm) mixing
lets do a shootout instead of having random headphones mentioned
there is a lot of distortions in this music that you'll notice on headphones with higher instrument separation, since that allows higher detail in busy music like this
however all 3 of these will likely reach their analytical limits and sound at least partially like mush
but,
with more detail comes more detail, naturally
so the calculation that needs to be made here is how much of the details and sounds and distortions do you really want to hear?

the k361 sounded way better to me on this exact song than I expected it to
tonally it was fine except for the bass being light
had punch but not a lot of depth
and it masked most of the distortions in a way that was overall smooth and not much more of a mess than the mixing/mastering already is
most sounds were visible, just not a lot of detail
the dt770's soundstage width and imaging worked against it here imo. I felt like it took away from the intensity and in-your-face presentation of the music. the distortions in the vocals were still highlighted in the treble despite the dt770 being less revealing in the treble by nature. tonally it was bright and didn't have much bass. of course that can be fixed with eq, but these things need an amp to get really loud anyways
the shure srh440A was similar to the k361 here, but with more impactful bass and a little more treble. I could hear the different distortions most often on these, but they weren't super obvious like they are on more expensive headphones. the midrange isn't as flavorful or dynamic as the k361, but it opts for higher vocal clarity
personally I would use the srh440A for this out of these 3 headphones
but along with the srh440A I will also endorse the k361 as a pretty good option here
Listened to that paranoid track Bluetooth to a quedalix 5k with hifiman sundaras’ s closed sounds crunchy not normal distortion more of a digital
For a speed test I generally use through the fire and flames - dragonforce
Or painkiller - Judas Priest
I can try that out again with the Fiio ft1 in about a week
Hello, I have a question: I'm going to get a set of speakers, but I don't really know what to get since I don't really have any experience. I'm searching for something that sounds OK, not incredible, just listenable so that my ears don't hurt from my headset pressing on them all day long.
What is the usage tv, pc, music, games.
Budget
Lookup budget bookshelf speakers on YouTube.
If you don’t have an amp to drive them, lookup powered bookshelf speakers.
Or budget in a amp to go with them
How much money do you want to spend
Music & Games, and I'd say something around 25 euros would be good, but I am willing to spend more if I have to
25 euros doesn't get you much. Creative pebbles would probably be your best option
If you don't need stereo, you might be able to get a UE boom or UE wonder boom for a low price and then also have a decent Bluetooth speaker

thanks for the in depth overview, actually surprised you went through my nasty music taste 💀
i think i'll go with the k361 then

Hey guys whats the best mic with a physical mute button for around 50 bucks
Im a complete audio noob and i want something thats gonna be good for streaming
The ATRR2100x-USB is a versatile content creation microphone, designed for live performance, podcasts, and voiceover use. This rugged handheld microphone offers two outputs: a USB output that connects to your computer or other device for digital recording, and an XLR output that connects to a sou...
though for this type of mic, you really need a boom arm and to place it close to your face to get the best sound
using the little tripod on your desk is gonna pick up just as much desk-noise as your voice
why not software shortcut?
I like having a tactile one so I know for sure I'm on mute
Oh nice, that looks perfect thanks!
Guys this would be a decent option for a cheap gaming iem right
dunno
it's entirely possible kz makes something with great imaging/sense of direction and instrument separation / keeping clarity during overlapping sounds
you generally want to avoid KZ
But it was free!!!
So I should be fine maybe
MY headset is so quiet on new pc and so loud on old pc i can barely hear anything all thats different is winodws 11... Why is it so hard to hear?
okay that's the right price for em
we need to have zs10pro vs zero red as a real review
I think it would scale back various claims of "progress" being made on iems
Are kiwi cadenza's good?
im thinking of getting them for first IEM
dunno, I decided not to buy them this month because of reviews saying they had poor techs
what would u recomemnd
depends on what you want
despite audiophile hype being applied to these and other earphones, they are still popular for a reason
on paper it's reasons I do not share
I love listening to music: mostly Pop R&B and Rap I like a good bass
Ill be gaming a lot using these as i want to replace my old headset
well I have the zero 2's, zero reds, kz zs10pro and dqs, chu 2's, and wa'ner s.g's
mhmm what are ur thoughts
for gaming I thought the strength of the sense of direction in cs2 was strongest on the zero 2's. while the precision was highest on the zero reds
the wa'ners seem to have sharper transients and punch than I originally thought it had, since I had an 11db dip I needed to eq up to make it sound normal
the zero red though has some soundstage, which is unusual compared to the others
but the zero 2 had a more natural and flavorful midrange that responded to volume changes and sounded alive. zero red was the opposite
wa'ners were somewhere in the middle
the zs10 pro has similar bass control to the two of these but with slightly weirder treble, midrange movement somewhere between the two, and the amount of fine details being much higher than both
so there's quite a few compromises between these
I listen to medium intensity rock and electronic music and occasionally play cs2, so my favorite was the zero 2
I really liked the midrange when using the light blue tips, and they had a bit more fine detail than the zero red
ye it's decent
the chu 2 cable is actually my favorite, I'm a fan of thick rubberized cables for some reason
me too
is this a problem?
i like how they look and reviews said theyre good
techs are things like telling what direction a sound came from, or hearing fine details of different instruments
a lot of the hype these days is about tone, which is basically the eq curve
music can sound tonally realistic/normal but be really low detail and give you a poor idea of what's happening
my preferences mean that tone is a secondary priority
I can adjust to strange tone over time anyways
if I had the cadenza, I would be able to gauge these techs better and alongside it's tone describe how it sounds overall
everyone both hears techs and tone a little differently, as well as gauges them a little differently
so hearing people say it's not as "technical" as other iems near it's price doesn't give me as much clarification as I'd like
nor will my conclusions be exactly like what yours would be
just probably close
what are your guys thoughts on the linsoul singolo as a mix of gaming and music listening, I'd buy them and the linsoul az15 so I can use bluetooth for my phone
Fiio FT1 just arrived and let me say they decimate the sundaras closed
Hey guys, Im looking to purchase my first IEM today. I live in Canada so I use amazon.ca when im looking for all my products. Im planning to spend <70 CAD. Options I've been looking at are the Crinacle Zero:2's, Linsoul Cadenza's and finally Truthear Zero Red's. I am coming from a gaming headset thats been okay but im looking for an upgrade since its falling apart. I'd probably primarily use it for gaming and listening to music. I mainly play Valorant so accuracy is a big thing for me. For music I usually listen to rap and pop, I like a good bass on my music; a good overall balance is preferred. Out of the three please provide me info on what'd be the first to try and please feel free to give me any more options not listed out of the three. Thanks.
Thanks man I really appreciate it
From your review I take it the Zero 2's were ur favorite?
guys I just got a bsod and my barracuda x headphones do not connect to my pc but they connect to my phone
please help me!
Have you tried emailing razer support?
I fixed it! I just needed to unplug and plug back the wireless connector!
Thank you tho!!
Happy we could help
most things decimade closed sundaras
closed sundara are one of the worst headphones ever
closed hifiman planars? why do they even exist
Probably for people who want to wear them in public
But being closed pretty much defeats the purpose of a planar so it was probably a rhetorical question
90% of my usage is around other people with TV’s going with something on it I don’t want to watch open backs just aren’t viable
Or grocery shopping
The sundaras do win in comfort
And some metal tracks sound better on them
Anyone know what type of speakers i should use for listening to music in my room i dont know anything about audio
cadenza is not worth it
yeah i saw
it doesnt have good accuracy
What about crinacle vs truthear zero red @tawdry gale
whats the first iem
cuz crin also made the zero red
zero reds are better
whats ur experience with iems?
I bought 3 iems after trying like 60 iems
Nightjar Singularity
those look expensi asl
well its 1.3k usd
Why u spend too much
So based on ur 60 iems
u recommend crinacle zero's from earlier?
or should i still go with truthear zero red
zero red is better than 7hz zero 2
I tried both
What did u like about th zero red
where as the 7hz zero 2 is?
worse bass techs
the extra price is worth it?
there is a difference
what can i expect out of durability out of the zero reds
would it be a good First iEM
Im coming from headphones
all iems arent very durable, dont drop them
are ur ear canals small?
Medium id say
yeah like small to medium
like on airpod pros the Medium one firts me good
just to note zero red has a thick and long nozzle
is that okay
whats ur ear canal size
I wear L on airpods pro 2
personally I wouldn't say one is necessarily better than the other
fr?
what about for gaming lik fps
doesnt matter
the limiting factor in gaming is always the game audio engine
not the audio gear especially if its tuned well
most game audio engines are shit
best one I've tried is terraria
ooh this is coming from a guy with 60 iems wow
truthear zero red is a little more precise with placement of sounds, but the zero 2 is more obvious and concrete
hows the cable on the truthear zero red's @tawdry gale
its not the best, but usable
zero 2's cable is also not very good
ya zero 2 look worse
I would not endorse the zero red for comp gaming specifically
Whats a good alternative to zero red with better cable and similar sound performance @tawdry gale
xuan nv
Wat would u recommend for comp gaming
the fine details are more smeared and pushed back further in volume than the zero 2
that shit expensive
I havent noticed a difference in my performance between subtonic storm(6.5k usd) and zero 2
I have a ton of headphones but only 6 or so different iems
I'm just saying sound across different ones is much more complicated than "good" "bad", and in comp fps it matters
would u guys recommend the top amazon iem KZ zs10?
ass
yes
tell m,e mopre
kz put a lot of drivers in their iems that dont even make sound
eg
tribrid
oh thats not good
Ima just get the zero reds then
bass is tighter, and the difference in quiet sounds is as big as it gets
probably 20db worthy
For the zero reds
Will I feel the bass
is it poerful in my ears
like in hip hop music
yes, but its not basshead level
Its better than the crinacle zero 2's bass?
bet
not as tight or textured as the zero 2 in the mid-upper portion
yes, cuz red have less midbass
I get more midbass on the reds
really? I hear less
so more people buy it
This one is probably ass right
its good
I like the reds for their wide and airy spatial presentation, decently textured bass, and marginally passable level of instrument separation
Im just tryna get the best value
but sadly the predecessor is better
best value, 7hz zero 2
for canada the truthear zero red is $63
for my taste
the biggest problem I have with the zero reds is the midrange
it's undetailed, not dynamic, and just dead
ye thats why I bought hola
hola so gud
is zero 2's dual dynamic driver?
single
1dd, but driver count doesnt matter
singularity is also a single dd
Fr? i thought uget better precision with 2 in gaming
but it sounds like a tribrid
driver count doesnt matter
SO first my IEM
zero reds $63 or crinacles zero 2 $37
is the price diff worth it
or should i just start with crinacles
since its my first iem
see what i like and not
zero 2 is safer cuz nozzle is smaller
after suffering a bit trying to play cs2 with the zero reds, I got the zero 2's the next day and had much more success
exactly how someone hears the imaging / sense of direction on different earbuds or headphones will vary a little
but anyways
OK bet
yes
yes
Id rec buying a cheap case
and silica packs
iems die very easily
at 0:11 in the video, I reach the practical limits of the imaging precision and choose the wrong door. this was something that was better on the zero reds, but on the reds I was not hearing many of these sounds or had trouble deciding if it was behind me or not
if u just place them in the open
bruhh why
How do they die just leaving them alone
thats silly
also some people drop them
more people's iems die like that @soft rune
Like iwthin months @tawdry gale ?
some people's die within a month to a week
Nooo theyre so sillyt

Did umake the mistake donny
none of my iems died before
I always store them in a case when I'm not using them
evenon ur pc?
also remove earwax when u see it
generic one
Wat are ur thoughts on moondrop chu 2
qc is terrible
aww dang
design is terrible
but QC on Crinacles aer good?
(the brass oxidises too easily)
its better
Aight
so im going with a safe good option crinacles zero 2
@tawdry gale heyman
do you know anything about speakers?
yes
Im just looking for acheap speaker i can use when i dont wanna wear my iems and so my parents can use speakers too when theyre using PC
are creative pebbles okay?
whats ur budget
Umm not that much
like <50 cad?
i probably cant get much
but
Just if u have any reccs
creative pebble plus, cuz it also comes with a mini woofer
aw it looks get but its oos in amazon
wym?
is out of stock
then just get any creative pebble
you think theyre worth it ?
at least they make sound
jbl 305p ii
theyre way more expensive but what do u think about edifier mr4 @tawdry gale
its better than pebbles
for sure
tbh i still like hd681's more than he400se's ;-;
both give me emotional damage and ear pain
Yeah hd681's without mods are deafening
Basicly dt990 se
What do you not like about the he400se btw?
Hi y’all
What’s a good bang-for-the-buck mic I can get to replace my Samson Q2U?
I was looking at the Shure MV7X but it’s a bit too pricey over here and I’m curious if anyone would know a similarly performing mic for a little less
What's wrong with the q2u?
i’ve had it a while and the xlr port is a little funny with it
it sounds okay but i’d like something better
Most of the gains you're gonna get from mics is gonna be in vocal processing. Compressor, noise gate, EQ, limiters, ¯_(ツ)_/¯
If you wanna seriously improve your sound that would be the path to take
Otherwise something "better" but still good bang for buck is a very nebulous request
fair fair
the treble is grainy
the bass is also awful
ksc75 has better bass, treble and timbre
i really didn’t like the kph30i’s tbh, no bass, what’s the point of “good quality” bass when there’s basicly not any
too warm imo
treble was decent-good on the kph30i’s tho expect for the 4k dip that made certain aspect sound off
also the sound stage even with grado pads was near iem-like
i didn’t really enjoy them
still, at ~$50 there’s not much to choose from
theres lots
oh, which
tune 710bt’s and 510bt’s actually yh
720bt
etc
tried the 510bt’s and iirc 710bt’s too, the 510bt weren’t too shabby but the pads are awful
I dont have that many yet but for $50 that gets someone a behringer alpha/omega, oneodio a71 or pro 10, blackshark v2x, sr850 or monoprice modern retro, m50x clone, or rockville pro-m50
amazon, like lyxpro has15, 512 audio academy, or tunical tnh101
blackshark v2x why
do you have any fr charts for some of them?
v2x for high instrument separation and strong but sorta imprecise imaging
not until I get to my pc
uh however
aren’t those muddy?
the rockville with the suede pads is super neutral
v2x has horrific tone including too much 200hz yes
t
this is one of the m50x clones with ebay velour pads, no rear damping cup, and basically open-back
that looks like it measures better than real m50x’s lol
which velour pads?
Lmao shorting
to push the limit, try this (may blow your driver, don't push it) https://youtu.be/xgjXtJQf1G8?si=aOJDpRjzr-I81LGk
@tawdry gale How long is the cable for Crinacles zero 2?
people are sleeping on the rode nth100 and nth100m
Are they
alright so
theres the fifine am8 and a mixer for 120 euro
now my question is: is it good for the price
"gaming audio mixer" sounds bad, but it cant be that bad, can it?
so you see
when your hinge is less durable than AKG K361/371
that's not a good thing.
Especially not for a studio headphone. Rip the Rode NTH-100
That’s a bummer. Luckily lifetime warranty on the frame iirc
I thought that this was fixed?
ah the hifiman mentality
"poorly designed products can be good if you have a lifetime trust me bro warranty"
thx jittt
well, rode tends to stand behind their products in my experience buying multiple mics, can't say the same for every audio manufacturer
given its their first foray into this market i'm willing to give them a bit of a pass
A lot of Rode stuff seems to be built poorly
My videomicpro's audio cable developed a fault after only a handful of uses
would anyone happen to know how i can mix and match my speakers? i have a really nice subwoofer that takes RCA in and then i have 2 actual desk speakers that are really nice but just lacking some low end, but they are seperatley powered completley with no option for a sub
does your subwoofer have no passthrough
is it a passive subwoofer?
it is a seperate unit
designed to be surround sound but its pseudo surround, like the speakers all connect to the subwoofer that has an amp in it and controller etc
logitech jank?
nah its some random supermarket brand
what inputs outputs do these have
does it have rca out
only for video
is there any way i can do this in windows
because they are both connected to my pc now and working
I can't really recommend this since its a program that can outright break your audio drivers permanently but
one of the very few programs that allow you to output from 2 different devices is voicemeeter banana
would be nice if the realtek drivers did this
they may
they broke constantly for a lot of people
oh wait no i do
but it does allow you to select which output is what
theres a whole bunch of nothing in there
might give vm banana a go
ok vm banana does it fine
Yall I got 2 questions I do t know where else to ask. I would like if you could give me suggestions for some headphones to wear in public. I don’t care abt noise cancellation, just has to be Bluetooth lmao. Anyway my real question is that I have a 5.1 speaker setup and the receiver I bought used on eBay died ofc. Any suggestions for a new one?
To buy new, I’m not taking that chance again
I recommend EQing the subwoofer out
make it not respond to like frequencies above 300hz
like this?
annoying that there is no like proper graphic eq visual editor
Mhm, it's quite a bit of a change if you're used to just dragging sliders up / down for each frequency, but this gives you a lot more control over the curves so... win some, lose some I guess.
im used to steel series sonar for eq, stopped using that because it fucked up basically everything
Seems about right... I used to love Steelseries way back in the early 2010's (when they had the Siberia V2 headsets) but somewhere along the lines they went full Razer and screwed up their drivers / software.
yes but no
it falls off so the shape is correct
but the hz which it falls off from is completely off
is that a -12db filter? if so that looks like 100hz-ish cutoff
which is pretty normal, maybe a little high
this is sorta mostly audio, but phone, and kinda half linux related
-Why is it that seemingly Samsung is the only type of phone with the Sound Assistant app, unlocking complete individual sound control per-app as well as things like voice changing directly through the phone itself; I've spent considerable time looking at other phones and apps and i Cannot find anything that comes close to the complexity of options offered by Sound assistant. .
Hello everyone, i hope you had an amazing day. So, i have a question that is headphone related and i was wondering if anyone were able to help me.
I have a flight next month and i'm currently looking at the sennheiser M4 but i didn't find any information about the airplane mode, how to pair them/use the mode, is anyone able to help me?
i will pair them to a samsung galaxy s24 ultra, so i don't have the 3.5mm jack port and i might have to buy an adaptor (if they are compatible and they work)
@lean grove does your SMSL dac also have high pitched power supply noise when its on standby mode?
your su10 and my d6s have completely different power supplies, but just curious
I have a d1se.
Is the noise leaking through the audio path or is it just making that noise
its not in the audio path
its like a charger brick making noise
also noise is gone when its not in standby mode
I guess some components are still receiving power when its powered off via the remote
No. Its dead silent
hmm
does anyone have recommendations for headphones suited for gaming?
wired is okay?
what’s your budget
